ok so im not the best artist/this was a late night impromptu sketch but i love this trio (lily, remus & regulus) as study buddies

i am so sorry to everyone who loves reggie bc i definitely did him the biggest disservice (can you tell idk how to draw straight hair)

ok now for details/hcs under the cut

lily's definitely the energy of the group, she tends to be neat but can get a bit worked up and therein makes very human stumbles (such as how she is dripping ink onto the table as she looks over remus's book) she also is such a drink while studying girly, here she's got a thermos of hot coffee both because she's sustainable like that and there's not really another way to get coffee to go around hogwarts...

remus is locked in but also aware that he can be a mess, he has to have his supplies all laid out even if he isn't using them at the moment, hence him taking up most of the table. aside from his assignment supplies, he also has a notebook where he keeps track of everything he needs to get done + ideas & random notes. [see my url lol]

regulus tends to be a bit more reserved within the group, but always listens and chimes in to help when needed, and sticks to more (wizarding) traditional note-taking, including using parchment for class notes. i also once again want to apologize for making it look like he's wearing a sailor moon costume, i just really fucked up the neat collar + sweater look 😭

finally, you can see how they're collaborating via their books/parchments, where lily highlighted in remus's textbook, remus added to regulus's class notes, and regulus revised lily's essay.

"I'm going to ask Tommy to marry me." Buck says out of the blue one random evening, sitting in Eddie's living room, spread out in the armchair, sipping a beer, eyes on the TV, where Eddie and Christopher are playing a video game. His tone is even and firm, not even a hint of hesitation, it's not a huge revelation, or even a decision he's made just now. He's been thinking about it for weeks, maybe months. He doesn't know why he says it now, it just slips out - maybe he just needed to talk to his best friend about it.

"Really?" he hears a hint of surprise in Eddie's voice, but when he looks at his best friend, he's still focused on trying to beat his son at the game. He's smiling, sparing a glance at Buck. "That's great, Buck."

"Yeah?" he breathes out, feeling even more settled now. He wasn't nervous, exactly, but still felt kind of like he did when he came out to Eddie. Like he just wanted his best friend to approve, to support him - and he had no doubt he would.

"Of course," Eddie answers easily. "You guys are perfect together, and you love each other, and if you're sure you want to spend the rest of your life with Tommy, yeah, go for it. I'm happy for you," he adds, finally looking at Buck, a soft, genuine smile on his face. Christopher uses this moment to win the game, and Eddie groans at his triumphant yell. "Aw, not fair, Buck distracted me." Both Buck and Chis laugh, while Eddie pouts for a moment, before a smile breaks through anyway.

"Well, I won." Chris shrugs with a grin. "And I think it'd be so cool if you and Tommy get married," he adds, moving his attention to Buck.

"Yeah?" Buck repeats, his smile even wider now. Having two of his favorite people not only really love his partner - Buck's pretty sure Tommy's the first one to spend so much time with all of them together, and it feeling so right - but also approve of Buck wanting to tie him into their family forever.

"Duh, Tommy's the coolest." Chris rolls his eyes. "Better lock him down while you can," he jokes, and Buck gasps in surprise. He's such a teenager.

"Wow, rude. He's not going anywhere." he shakes his head with a laugh. That much he's sure of, for the first time in his life he's not scared of getting left, of his partner getting bored or fed up. He knows Tommy's gonna be right at his side no matter what.

"Not if you put a ring on it." Eddie joins his son's teasing. Laughing, Buck reaches over to the table to pick up a chip from a bowl and throw it at Eddie, who dodges it as it lands somewhere on the couch. "Hey!"

"But seriously, you don't think it's too soon?" Buck asks after a moment, a little bit of nerves seeping into his tone. He's more than sure about wanting to marry Tommy. He's just a little scared that he's gonna freak him out. They have talked about this, about their future, what they want out of this relationship, out of life, but they never really discussed any timelines, and Buck might be a little in his head about this. Hence why he needed to talk to someone about it, probably.

"Buck, you've been together for over a year. Some people get married after less." Eddie raises an eyebrow. "When you know, you know." He shrugs, and Buck releases a breath. Because he does know. He has known for a long time now.

"So you think he'll say yes?" Buck asks, but he knows the answer before Eddie has a chance to roll his eyes with fond exasperation. Tommy loves him. He loves Tommy so much his heart wants to burst out of his chest and live in Tommy's. Tommy is his forever, he's sure of it, and he knows that when he asks, and it's going to be very soon, he'll get a positive answer.

"He'll say yes." Eddie says with a small shake of his head and a wide smile. "Now, two important questions from me: who's gonna be your best man, and do you need help planning and picking out a ring?"

I absolutely do not understand why certain people are using the term "Bestie Boos" as almost a derogatory slur lately. First of, I haven't seen Buddie shippers claiming that term for Buddie, but even if some of them did, in context of the article where it was mentioned, it's clearly platonic.

I personally found the term cute and perfectly benign; it's giving JD & Turk vibes, and it expresses exactly what we Bucktommy shippers should NOT be opposed to: viewing Buck and Eddie as a platonic relationship, as besties who love each other deeply without it having to have any homoerotic aspects.

(Mind you, we also should not be opposed to people still shipping Buddie without being toxic about it, or multishippers, or buddietommy shippers. Ship and let ship. It's the other side that can't do it, let's not sink to the same stupid, petty levels!)

Why the heck take issue with that? We do not need to play by the rules of the toxic BoBs and put everything down that isn't our ship. We can appreciate what is very much established in canon and goes nicely alongside with our romantic ship.

Anyway, fuck the police (i.e. people who spread negativity in any direction when it's uncalled for!). I'm gonna start using "Buddie Bestie Boos" as unironic tag now for platonic Buddie.

What are your favorite TSBS/TSAMS queer-platonic or platonic ships/aus? I don't give a fuck if they aren't canon or will never be canon, I just wanna hear your thoughts. I'll start.

KidsCove: They were really uncomfortable at first, because the fans were shipping them when they're both not interested (thank you very much but no thank you) but for the sake of Monty's wallet they did videos together. And it went from just gameplay to hanging out with groups to hanging out at each other's houses. They're best friends, FC absolutely loves Sun (and refers to him as "Uncle Sun", which was awkward at first, but it's since been accepted). Foxy rambles to Sun about Mangle over a glass of wine while Sun is scolding him for pulling his paws away while he's trying to paint his claws (you know how dogs pull their feet away when you touch them)?

SolarNexus: I'm sorry moots but I can only ever really see them as queer-platonic, even if I do participate in your ship rambles from time to time. They build shit together and occasionally blow said shit up together as well (on accident). They've almost burnt down the garage several times due to distracting each other with awful awful jokes that would put both dad's and sailors to shame. For someone who is aroace Nexus sure does have quite the storage of downright shameful sex jokes, and he always pulls out his worst ones while Solar is working on something delicate, and it's always out of the blue so Solar almost always fumbles what he's working on in shock. Nesux's cackling on the table, doubled over holding his stomach as Solar is berating him for his god-awful timing and humor, barely holding back a laugh himself. Moon also tells Solar his insecurities, shit he wouldn't ever burden Sun with. How he hates talking to people and he can see that all they can see is Old Moon. How sometimes he has to put up a front when Sun's talking to him because he knows that Sun can only see the dead Moon. Solar can relate, since he has a body that looks disturbingly similar to the version of Eclipse that took the star and blew up Lunar. Sometimes they just sit outside, on the steps of the porch, and stare at the ocean. Words aren't needed, just companionship.

My last one has to be this one fucking AU I have with my friends that I've never discussed outside of discord but I rot about constantly. The idea is that both KC and BM are a lot more feral/animalistic, and so KC and BM just fucking dip and go live in the forest together like a couple of cats. They just disappear off the map and don't bug anyone after Killcode gets his own body (that doesn't require killing Moon). Everyone thinks they died until the twins kidnap Moon two years later because Killcode is sick and they can't figure out how to help him. And then they gotta be domesticated because Killcode has to stay at the Plex to heal.

I've seen a lot of people say that Wally is Dick's best friend, and I've always been a little confused by that. First of all, it's obviously Donna. But even if we're narrowing the field to just redheaded men, I always felt like Dick was closer to Roy than he was to Wally, but I figure that's just what I've read. Even in NTT, which is the only thing I've really seen with them together, Dick and Wally didn't come across as especially close. Got any recommendations on what I can read to see more of them?

Yeah so trying to pick apart these relationships is pretty confusing because canon is just as wishy washy about it lmao. You’re right that dick and wally being closer is more of a modern invention, and I think influenced by yjtv(?) But tbh I cant even blame modern comics for that, it was even inconsistent in the 90s (I believe dick was referred to as wally’s best friend in titans 99 and the flash run). So. Who knows

Historically & in NTT especially dick was always depicted as being closest to donna. Though NTT is honestly not a very good ref for wally in general, he quit pretty early on and wolfman was just bad at writing speedsters💀 If you want recs for dick & wally I would say the first 20 issues or so of Titans ‘99, Flash (1987) #81-83, and Flash Plus Nightwing (1997). And a lot of modern comics ofc though I can’t rec those in good conscience🤷‍♀️

“I…” he started, his mouth staying open a second longer before he closed it again. Not looking Buck in the eyes, he opened it again a second later. “I need a favor.”

“Uh, sure. Anything,” Buck answered as he closed the door again, mildly worried.

Eddie took a few steps further, coming to a halt somewhere between the dining table and downstairs bathroom. “I… uh… this is more inconvenient than I thought,” he said, waving his cast-covered lower left arm through the air.

“Yeah— Uh, I— I can imagine that. So what—”

“I need to use the bathroom,” Eddie cut him off, waving his healthy arm towards the door of Buck’s bathroom.

Buck frowned, feeling his brow furrow. “O— Okay?”

“Yeah,” Eddie nodded tensely.

Buck wasn’t following.

“Is… something wrong with the bathroom at your house?”

“No,” Eddie groaned out through gritted teeth. “There’s nothing wrong with my bathroom. I just…” He shrugged helplessly and gave Buck a prompting look, as if that explained anything. It didn’t.

“You just what?”

Another waving hand gesture followed, this time in the area of Eddie’s crotch. “I’m wearing jeans.”

“Uh… okay?”

“They have a zipper,” Eddie added. By now, he was starting to step from one foot onto the next, still subtly but obviously enough with the impatience of someone who desperately needed to pee.

Finally, even before Eddie spoke again, it clicked.
