i find it so interesting that in rebel robin, robin seems confident that her parents will be cool with her being a lesbian whenever she decides to come out to them (they’re major hippies), and that angle isn’t really explored in fanon works all that much

like yes i also love the headcanon that wayne would be like. very chill about all that and the trailer is where the older kids come to hang out and be openly queer without worry but !! i also think the buckley household being a safe space is such an interesting idea that nobody really explores !!

^owo^ < My dumb ass starting yet another WIP because I'm not in the mood to work on the complex two chapter long fight scene or the genuine emotional intimacy/psychological warfare.

Anyhoo, I think we can all agree that Hua Cheng writes/has written fanfiction, right? (if you don't agree... why?)

The main premise is that HC gets really mad at a trashy romance novel (he read all of the good ones and is scraping the bottom of the barrel) and Yin Yu offhandedly suggests he write his own.

Fafa being Fafa, the idea is taken completely seriously.

The resulting end product is pretty much just Wu Ming/Calamity!Xie Lian, cultivatorXdemon, hurt-comfort, angst-with-a-happy-ending fanfiction with the serial numbers scraped off.

Yin Yu is made to proofread, and does fix the grammar where it goes wrong, but is also... not experienced with all this scholar stuff, and has no idea how to fix the phrasing issues (over-describing certain things like clothes, referring to characters by their hair color or relative age, the Orbs, etc, etc).

He Xuan gets dragged in as the second beta reader & editor. Suffers.

After the book is published, it gets really popular among gods and ghosts alike, because the author just kind of... gets it, the fixations and complexities of a conceptual being. Also, the art is really fucking good.

Eventually, Xie Lian finds a copy.

(It doesn't count as breaking your vows if you read it for the plot and characters, right?!)

And it's... comforting? getting a different perspective on that part of his life.

But also kind of makes some things slightly worse, digging up traumas and stuff.

Seeing this kind of situation from the other perspective is very disorienting, with the MC taking any sign of attention from the ML as a reward- even when it is just straight-up abuse. The narrator/author criticizes this behavior, specifically in the way that it enables the ML's self-harm and descent into insanity.

(Basically, a scathing critique of his own actions)

Xie Lian, having finished the first volume: where can I get more of this?

Thankfully, the author Inkstained Fox sticks with the story for all seven volumes. And an additional volume of extras.

The story ends with the main characters settling down and rebuilding ML's sect, adopting a bunch of children disciples in the process.

Inkstained Fox doesn't stop with one successful series, though.

(Validation is one hell of a drug.)

Family walks, Chayanne on Phil's shoulders and Lullah on Missa's. Or they do that thing where there's one kid between them and they take either hand and lift/swing them together.

Family gardening. Missa using his reaper scythe to harvest things, Chayanne and Lullah replanting seeds, Phil going full crow brain and hoarding all the harvested crops in crates.

The kids are Phil & Missa's biggest wingmen. Lullah will lead them somewhere and then be like "Oh. Oh nooo, oh noooo my asthmaaaa" and teleport away. And then suddenly there's Chayanne with a table for 2 and an entire kitchen setup with a dinner in progress.

They'll plot "relaxation" days for Phil and Missa too. It's a toss-up if either of them actually relax though. Missa's better at it than Phil at least.

No one cheered harder about the prison kisses than Chayanne and Lullah. They wish their dads a very "do it again. Often."

Phil and Missa are constantly conspiring together about cool things to do with/for the kids. Even when they're away from each other they'll write books leaving the other a message like "shhh don't tell the kids :)"

They'll also plan days Just for one of the kids where whatever the family does is centered around their interests. It's nice for them, because although they have mutual interests and are more than willing to do whatever the other wants, they still have unique interests and it can naturally get tiring being a package deal. Especially when so many of the other eggs are only children and get doted on by their parents with undivided attention

They get separation sadness a lot bc reaper duties and Phil's extremely deep sleep/vivid dreams keep them apart so often, but their little system of leaving gifts (Missa his paintings, Phil misc trinkets) for each other works. It's not as good as a hug or quality time though :(

Everyone's passing each other's accents to one another. Missa finds himself slipping up saying "bewk" (book) or some shit, meanwhile Phil keeps saying stuff with a Spanish accent because of Missa and Lullah and everyone keeps adopting German words into their vocabulary because of Chayanne.

Phil and Missa are both good at pvp, they love sparring with each other and teaching the kids. Chayanne is way more into it than Lullah, but Lullah loves to learn regardless, and she loves hearing Phil infodump about strategy and timing and whatnot.

Missa and the kids will team up and get Phil on one of his Philzaing rants. They'll be like "what do you MEAN you couldn't physically carry all three of us on a flight? :(" and there Phil goes, raving about how weight matters with flying and safety and blah blah blah. And he KNOWS they're getting a rise out of him most of the time. Yet he falls for it every time.

One day,, one day we'll get a 4/4 family build project,,, They want to do it do bad,, So far it's just been 3/4 make it and the 4th is delighted to be shown it by the kids whenever they're around again. (August 2024 Edit: KILLS MYSELF)

Phil and the kids have started half-purposely obtaining as many birds as they have bc it's funny to see Missa come back from reaper duties to MORE birds that he just has to accept live there now.

The kids love Phil's crow murder to death (pun intended) and are used to interacting with them. Missa not so much. Which has made for countless funny moments. He's still bewildered that they're so attuned to throwing something shiny at him and then aggressively cawing. He doesn't understand them like Phil can.

Something something the four of them having a seance together where Lullah taps into her medium abilities to communicate with Kristin bc Goddess of Death is part of the Death Family. She loves to tease Missa (usually about Phil) and she ADORES the kids.

Hello again! Since you said that you HC König to be Styrian, do you think he'd be the kind of person to sometimes speak his dialect with reader to tease them a little? The dialect is kinda hard to understand for people, who only speak High German (the German you find in texts and the one you're taught at school and stuff). Because I speak with a dialect as well and I'd love nothing more than to banter with König in our Austrian dialect together! Of course, there's a thousand dialects in Austria! So, someone from Styria has a hard time understanding someone from Vorarlberg, but still! (Also, because I HC him from the southern part of Styria, I like to imagine he "barks" a little when he speaks! It's gotten better as he grew up, but when he gets drunk he still barks, which makes it harder to understand him! It's really hard to understand some people from southern Styria >.< Are we allowed to share our own HCs with you? I just thought it'd make sense since I am Austrian! Not trying to sound entitled or anything, of course! But I just love giving him HCs of things I'm familiar with :>)

I do put in my research and know some but I haven't even been there so if I'm ever wrong, absolutely feel free to correct me (I try my best not to be totally ignorant)

To answer your question simply in one word: ABSOLUTELY. Caps, bold, and all.

Naturally, his default IS his dialect. That's what he grew up speaking, that's what he learned, that's what sounds the most correct to him. Yes, it's not the standard, but it's HIS standard.

If reader doesn't know his dialect or if he's going out of his way to be a bit of a little shit, he'll be teasing about it - he's got a sense of humor (as unconventional as it might be). Assuming reader is learning German, he of course will still be helpful with teaching! He'll speak the "textbook" standard, but he's still slipping his dialect in, especially if they're catching onto what he's saying and he wants to make a sly comment.

What did he just say? Oh, nothing, you'll figure it out :) .... eventually, in due time.... and maybe a few post it notes in your text books there...

If they already know German, he'll pretty much insist on his dialect and will maybe speak a bit slower if you're lucky. But he'll talk so much if he likes you, you'll catch on - sooner or later (all apart of his masterplan). He's far more comfortable speaking German so he naturally adopts a faster talking pace too to match

Side note Dialects are SO interesting. One of my pals is Norwegian and he'd look me dead in the eyes and switch to another dialect whenever I understood him. Frustrating, actually pretty hilarious, and gives me MORE incentive to learn and to try and figure it out. How a single language can vary so differently from place to place in the same country is very interesting to see and hear alike

(Also you're absolutely welcome to share head cannons with me anytime!! 💚💚💚 I love hearing them and I love seeing that people can relate and have their own experiences to add. It really adds depth when we know we're never getting more than the bare minimum and it's not entitled at all its so nice to hear these little details)

I'm absolutely on board with that head cannon and support it FULLY in every sense of the word. That's 110% HIM. Since he wasn't much of a talker as a kid too I think it certainly was much more pronounced for that reason before it lessened as he grew up, and especially had more exposure to his peers.

I adore niche head cannons like this, it's my bread and butter. Because you KNOW we'd not get that level of love and attention to detail with or from the game alone and it's just adding that extra pizzazz, that extra depth that he deserves

ok for starters i think ellie would be a nerd in high school. i know that some people headcanon her as a jock or a stoner (and that ellie has a special place in my heart) but i definitely think she’d be the opposite tbh. i imagine her with only a few friends (dina, jesse, cat). and i also think she’d have insanely good grades because she’s just smart like that. and all of her teachers love her because even though she’s quiet, she’s really kind and creative.

also i think her family would be just her and joel and maybe a dog. like imagine her spending her weekends getting guitar lessons from joel and then taking her dog on a walk and documenting it in her journal. she would fr have such a blast!!!!

for college i definitely think she’d major in astronomy/astrophysics or maybe art history?? and in her last years of college, she’d get a job as a secretary for a science museum. honestly, she didn’t hate it, but she was super jealous of the tour guide because she got to take all of the cute little kids on a walk and talk about the fun stuff while ellie had to sit behind a desk all day. but after begging her supervisor enough, she’d get promoted to tour guide after the mean old lady who used to do it retired.

and guess what??? the kiddos loved her!!! she always made sure the kids were having a great time and she knew a lot about what she was talking about, whether it was dinosaurs or planets or volcanoes. and the joke book came everywhere with her!! absolutely nothing made her happier than hearing the little monsters giggling and squealing about a joke that wasn’t even that funny.

abby and ellie would become good friends because of the time abby took her class to the museum on a field trip. they ended up actually really liking each other, especially because they had so much in common. and sometimes after work they’d meet up at a bar and talk about life, it was nice for them to both have a new friend who was equally as nerdy.

ellie would be a tour guide for quite a few years while abby got her doctorate. a few years after abby became a professor, ellie tried out illustrating a childrens book for a local visitor at the museum who was really fond of ellie. it was nothing too big, but she was really proud of it.

after she finished the drawings for the book, she wanted to try writing one of her own. so she decided to write a textbook for kids about dinosaurs with her own illustrations and a joke on every page.

safe to say it was super successful!!! she ended up going to local elementary schools and educating the littles about the different types of dinosaurs and each era they lived in. and you better believe old man joel was so proud!!!! his little girl ellie that he used to take to dinosaur museums was now writing her own dinosaur books!!!

i think eventually she’d quit her job at the museum and focus on being a writer full time, along with keeping art as a hobby. and i can 100% see her getting married and adopting a kid just like joel adopted her, and she’d pass on all of her science knowledge to her mini self. also i think she’d mainly only write science textbooks for kids, but may end up publishing a sci-fi novel or two.

It's still accurate to how I feel about the characters...mostly. In the time since I made this post, I have since been converted to "Grunkle Stan is bi" and I'm now preaching the Good Word 🤟

I originally made the majority of the posts about where everyone is now back in 2022, when I intended to have the blog launched as part of the 10th anniversary of Gravity Falls airing.

Anyway point being, I'll have to tweak the timeline a bit. Which is fine because I wanted Dippin Dots and Mabes to hold some jobs before college anyway so really my lack of updating is just an excuse for this. That's the major point I could think of but if I didn't properly consider others please sound off 📣 (yes I'm a cringe emoji user AND I'M PROUD)

Soos and Melody are still attempting to conceive because they want at least one bio child if they can but they're working on adoption.

Many assume Gus Burnside to be missing or worse dead. But maybe... he's still out there somewhere...with his physical body fulfilling a deal. But y'know! No one can say for certain!

To be completely honest I'm still figuring out my interpretation of Bill's backstory. Sorry about that.

Though the reason the Axolotl has contacted our dimension to begin with has to do with his concern...about a certain someone. And who better to give a helping hand than the fandom and the Zodiac?

Since Stan taught Wendy how to hot wire vehicles and whatnot, they one day found a fairly intact Harley motorcycle in the dump. They fix it up together and Stan declares it hers. This is where her Harley previously mentioned in other posts comes from.

When did this happen? I've always assumed the Stans come back to land from time to time, including some summers. So likely during summer but a holiday could work too!

Mabel loves being a passenger. Dipper not so much unless he clings tight. Wendy installs a seat back at some point and this helps ease his anxiety. A little. He likes seeing the scenery though so he'll bare through it if asked to ride. Not to mention he cares for Wendy and thus doesn't want to deny her sharing her joy.

Robbie probably figured out he wanted to be an anime artist while doodling in college classes he wasn't paying attention to. Either he was in generals or some other degree at this point. He only drew in private during high school.

Pacifica during her high school/diner years thought she like liked Dipper. And well, she was Dipper's rebound crush so at around 15 or so they dated for a while. Pacifica however eventually realizes she's actually a lesbian and was misinterpreting her care for Dippin Dots, as well as thinking she only had so many options initially. Dipper realizes it was to cope with Wendy.

Therefore they cut off romantic ties on good terms and continue to be good friends.

(I have nothing against Dipcifica, it's cute. I'm just personally a Mabcifica person and enjoy my lesbian Pacifica hc)

In their early college years Mabel and Pacifica become girlfriends, LET'S GOOOOOO

Candy and Dipper have began to catch each other's eyes... they've healed from the events of Roadside Attraction in the years since and now they can have a healthier relationship in several ways. I WILL DIE FOR THIS SHIP OKAY

Fiddleford and Ford are sweet old man boyfriends. Though romance baffles Ford it makes enough sense with Fiddleford.

Stan is Stan. Though maybe all of his family coming out awakes something in him... something new to explore about himself...

Past Billford will likely be discussed at some point, though they haven't been a thing for decades and it was toxic to begin with.

Grenda and Marius are of course married ❤️ Candy, Mabel, and Pacifica were her bridesmaids. Mabel and Candy were piling over each other trying to get the bouquet, though Wendy catches it. Uninterested in marriage she throws it back out and reflexively Dipper catches it. After confused for a solid moment he tosses it and finally Pacifica then catches it.

The Pines Twins revisit Gravity Falls every summer until their high school graduation. Well *maybe* they go one more after graduation but then they have job schedules to contend with.

One of those summers (probably when the Mystery Twins are 15) their parents surprise them with a visit! But then they start to question everything because y'know. Weird town.

Eventually the truth comes out about everything, and they better understand their kids.

It wasn't the easiest summer but an important one.

They let their children return because they know how dearly they love their time there, albeit with ground rules established.

As for their jobs, Mabel was a barista and Dipper restocked shelves at a grocery store.

Dipper now has come to care for his birth name and birthmark. He still likes going by Dipper but he insists that only those close with him use the name. The only reason he still wears bangs is that his hairstyle is just comfortable and familiar. This also keeps his birthmark special as only some get to see it (in full).

Mabel still loves knitting and sweaters, but she's experimented a lot with fashion throughout the years. She now has more variety in her wardrobe than sweaters and skirts.

The twins live in dorms with a couple roommates and return back to their childhood home during holidays and summer. They intend to live in Gravity Falls once they get all their education/credentials.

Waddles is an old man but still kickin'. The parents were initially upset with his presence but were convinced by Stan to begrudgingly keep him. They grew to care for the piggy as well.

The family cat (Sniffles) has since passed :(

They have a dog (Honey) now though! She was a puppy from a dog Dipper once dogsat. The owners didn't realize said dog was preggo. It was a whole thing. Anyway Mabel loves putting her in cute outfits that match Waddles, something she used to do with Sniffles.

Mabel is a k-pop multistan (originating from Candy and Grenda introducing it to her) and absolutely loves drinking boba/jelly milk tea. Dipper likes the sound of k-pop music but isn't a fan the same way his sister is. He likes milk tea but the boba pearls themselves freak him the heck out.

- When Pied Piper returned the kids to their parents (no, he didn't drown them, c'mon Eah show isn't that dark) he noticed a kid in the group who didn't ran to none of the adults in the village and no parents who ever sought her out.

That child was Melody, and seeing she had no parents and home, the Pied Piper adopted her

- Cheshire Cat created Kitty. Like she literally took a part of herself and molded it into a baby Kitty. How's that possible? To make herself disappear and reappear, the Cheshire Cat is made of smokey and pooffy stuff inside so if she wants a kid, she can easily just pluck off some of the smoke stuff from her arm or leg etc. It doesn't hurt in case you're wondering

- The Huntsman (Hunter's dad) and Red (Cerise's mom) were childhood, and the Huntsman was in love with her

It's was one-sided and Red was oblivious to his feelings and The Huntsman never had the courage to tell her how he truly felt...so you would get this teenage boy get all shy saying stuff like - "Wowza Red...funny to think how i'm technically ur Prince Charming...👉👈 saving u from the Big bad wolf....very fuunnyy riiight? haahahaa"

- Like it was shown in Class of Classics, King Charming was similar to Dexter at the start, but with the pressure to be a perfect Prince Charming, mixed in with his own insecurities and wanting not to fail his own destiny, he started to become the worst version of himself, but because he alligned with the rules of how a Pince Charming should be, many weren't that bothered by it, outside of Pinnochio and Goldie who knew the real him.

Pinnochio misses his old friend

- Red and EQ were those friends who since highschool had plans of their kids also being friends like they are, but then EQ got trapped in the mirror realm and so there were no playdates between Raven and Cerise.

After Red learned Cerise had befriended Raven, she felt happy. (EQ learned about their friendship either through the mirrors or after she got broken out of the realm)

Well this aren't my personal headcanons but they're one that I adopted.

Well demiromantic Charles, I talked about this before and I think this posts explains it pretty well and I completely support it.

Also using suspenders as a replacement for belts because belts reminds him of his dad.

ADHD Charles! Oh I love this ADHD messy boy and I resonate with him so much.

Also dyslexic Charles!

I think those hcs makes the fact that he and Edwin has their thing where Edwin is reading him stories even cuter.

I totally see how no matter how hard he tried to overcome his disabilities he was never good enough which made his home life more difficult (projecting? Whattt).

Oblivious bisexual Charles rights. Not really a hc but yeah, that boy is dumb he's just completely oblivious in the moment he just never considered that because of the heteronormative society he was raised in, it just never crossed his mind. I'm a full believer he's just slow in understanding stuff and he wants to take things slow with Edwin.

He's screaming bisexual we all in the fandom clocked him right away it's nothing special really. We all know he's bi. That's a bisexual disaster if I have ever seen one. (Emphasis on the disaster).

Also, Charles kept the lantern from when Edwin found him! And that was the lantern he used when he went back to hell. And another detail I didn't see anyone talking about he also kept the book Edwin read to him without he knew. Actually he kept following the next books coming out in this series.

I also love any type of hc that gives him any artistic hobby- artist, dancer, or anything really, any reason that he didn't fit the stereotypical masculine gender roles, and made him even a larger disappointment in his dad's eyes. Anything that made it harder for him. I'm a slut for angst what can I say. (Like I'm a Charles Rowland kinny it's pretty much obvious).

This is pretty much it I think!

Mostly I just love the work the show did with him. I don't feel like large and elaborate headcanons are needed him- the canon is already amazing. I just love some small pieces that gives even more depth to the canon lore.

This show is so good I don't need really big headcanons. I don't think I can top the canon.

Well: all of them are SOME flavour of trans and/or genderqueer (I don't make the rules, except when I do, and yep: thems the rules), but I don't think many of them would actually have surgery, per se. For several reasons, which all basically boil down to this: Hyrule is a better place than the real world, and they can do cool stuff we can't do here. Behold as I infodump all over your question.

First off, my opinion is that there's less social and legal pressure within most of the game settings to conform to particular gender presentations. Which is obviously far from the sole reason why surgery would happen in the real world, but it does mean that you can decide 100% for your OWN sake, not for anyone else's. Note: Western transphobia developed under specific conditions which we don't have to transpose into fictional worlds. We can just do what we want. It's great.

Second, and this one is pretty clearly demonstrated in game lore, mechanics and dialogue: kids in Hyrule, Skyloft and the Great Ocean are treated really well compared to the real world, in that they have 1) the ability to make personal decisions WITHOUT parent consent, and 2) direct access to libraries, doctors, clothes shops, potion shops and etc. Sure, money is a factor here, but the Links at least tend to have spare cash and/or the ability to earn it. Plus, potions at least are not that expensive, nor is that one medical bill from the Oracles games from memory? Idk. If you have 50 rupees every now and then, you're probably set. So if there's a particular surgery a trans person might have in the real world as a direct result of not being able to make their own choices during puberty... that doesn't have to apply in a fictional world. Unless they either didn't know or didn't have access at the time.

Related to the above: most of the games have some form of magic and often also some form of science. I think surgery would be a last resort, used either where magic isn't available or where the magic that IS available doesn't do enough. So probably only for major changes and/or in low magic settings.

As for who, then, based on the above:

TP!Link does come from a low magic world where one of two doctors is a raging racist, and that could limit his access to HRT equivalents. The fact that he comes from a small village could also impact his access to information about being trans, though his house IS full of books and his adopted dad and childhood friend's dad ARE connected with a bunch of people across Hyrule, including the one non-racist doctor. If I didn't HC him as being intersex and totally fine with his body, he'd be my pick.

Since I do: Hyrule (ZeldaI&II!Link).

I HC him as transmasc, but I think he was probably late to put actual words to that, given he's been travelling alone since a young age. Potionsellers do exist within his world, but they're a) rare, an b) expensive. My boy is POOR. But luckily, the town healers and magicians both offer their services for free! YAY! He can get all the surgery and magical HRT he wants :) just so long as he's both cool with having a little blood spilled and able to stick around in a town long enough to recover. Which he uhh... CAN do... right?

• let's say you're about four years older than jack.

• honestly you weren't adopted by them, they just found you in the middle of the road wandering around barefoot and with your clothes a little torn.

• they took you because they felt sorry for you.

• and somehow abigail felt some special connection with you.

• the others in the gang would tease john for being a softie with you.

• although john would be happy to have you, he says it would be nice for jack to have an older sibling, someone else to play with.

• (but then john left)

• jack was one year old when he became the youngest child.

• you would both know how to read and write, although you would always help jack with the difficult words.

• abigail would teach you how to sew, basically it would be the only thing you would know how to do because it's known that she doesn't cook very well, so she couldn't teach you a lot of things.

• arthur was your "favorite uncle" in the gang, along with javier.

• javier taught you how to play the guitar and some words in spanish (he taught you curse words and abigail almost smashed the guitar on his head 'cause of that)

• let's say arthur had a soft side for you, with that in mind, he taught you how to draw.

Ok ok... I haven't read the OG book (I ordered that though and it's arriving on Wednesday!), but... Hear me out.

Apparently, according to Google, originally Aunt Em and Unkle Henry are actually Dorothy's adopted parents. Her biological mother left her on their doorstep. In Oz, the Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion all vowed to look after each other and Dorothy on their way to Oz.

What if Dorothy, as a baby/young child, got taken to Oz and somehow found herself in the care of the trio? Maybe one of them found her and basically adopted her (Scare was nailed to his post, and Lion was a coward that ran from everything. So my best guess would be Tinny). Or all three of them if they had found each other first? Imagine them all trying to figure out what to do with this child! Imagine the lengths they go to protect her and take care of her! Imagine Dorothy growing up and hearing them all say they don't have brains, heart or courage, but she sees them as the smartest, loving and bravest people she knows! 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

Basically, a Three Men and a Baby/Little Lady AU, but with Dorothy and Friends. Idk about you, but I need this wholsomeness in my life XD ^^ (maybe Dorothy's wish in this AU would be to know where she really came from? 🤔)

🥺🥺🥺 BUT IMAGINE LION FINDS HER FIRST!! He was scared by her at first, so he rushes behind some bushes or something... just to see another jungle creature approach the defenseless little bundle. And they look h u n g r y. And Lion is terrified of that creature even worse, but even more then that?? He's scared f o r the defenseless bundle!!

So. He decides, taking a deep whimpering breath. He has to save it.

And after that he ends up keeping the little one, because oh its kind of cute?? So sweet??? He's still a little scared of it every time it cries or screams (or sneaks up on him, if Dorothy's already crawling), but its so... weak. Cant even roar. And its all alone, like him... He Has to care for it.

But he cant do it here. Its too dangerous in the jungle. They have to go somewhere else.

And on the way to a 'safe place', they meet Tin and Scarecrow!!! The Lion tries to leave them both as soon as he sees them, but both times baby Dorothy slips from the Lion's grasp, or cries so sadly at the prospect of leaving them that once again- he h a s to step up and help the strange men.

Okay, some extra HC's that came to mind with this:

Scarecrow showing his brains by being the one to find food for baby Dottie after Tin Woodman tells Lion she cant eat raw meat- thats not how baby humans work. Scare did the same thing for little teenage Dorothy in the book! He found her food multiple times (Nuts, fruit) and I just love that about their relationship. He also covers her in dry leaves to keep her warm while she sleeps.

Tin Woodman showing his heart when he's the one to hold Baby Dottie and stick with her and sympathise with her through all her tantrums and bouts of uncontrollable crying. As she grows up this doesn't change, and he's always the one she talks to when she needs it.

Just another book thing I love, but- Tin and Scare watching over Lion and baby Dottie every night while they slept, since they don't do that. Baby Dottie often sleeping in Scare's arms because he's squishy and warm like a blanket and Lion will get startled if she sleeps with him and suddenly moves.

Tin Woodman making Dottie clothes and blankets and stuff as she gets bigger. I just feel like out of all of them, Tin would have the most home-making skills. (IMAGINE HIM TEACHING LION HOW TO KNIT, THOUGH!! It would be such a nice calm activity for him <3)

Scare and Lion telling the best bedtime stories while Tin sits with little Dottie in his lap and gets just as into it as she does. Scare's get goofy and out-there, while Lion's detail brave acts of daring-do he imagines he might complete if he had the courage.

IMAGINE HOW THIS CHANGE EFFECTS THE DOROTHY MUST DIE VERSION OF THE STORY!! Those are no longer her friends- thats her Straw Dad and her Fur Dad and her Tin Dad. The love Tin has for Dorothy is no longer romantic (Unless it still is, in which case... I'm still intrigued by this even darker storyline honestly) but fatherly. Protective. Maybe he's sad that she's turned out this way, but he will never turn away from her?? He couldn't?? Thats his little girl and he will always be on her side.

LOTF HEADCANONS >:)

This is going to be a list of my on-island/book time period headcanons (HINT NOT CANON). The majority are my own, and some are my "adopted" headcanons. Each section will be headed! Pre/post island headcanons will be done later since this is super long already

This is LOTF content, so expect it to be a little dark! Take care of yourself <3

Island/Time Period

- Took place in the late 40s/early 50s. Not during/post WW2 but instead during a new fictitious war caused by nuclear threats in Europe. This is why the boys were sent away from their boarding school in the UK (I'll elaborate on this in a bit).

-The island itself was decent sized with 3 beaches: The meetings/crash took place on the largest beach of the island, which faced West.

-The center of the island was dense woods and heavy foliage. Pig runs ran throughout the entire center and led out to the eastern side of the island.

-Castle Rock and Fire Mountain were to the north, meaning shelters/bathing pools were on the southwest side of the island. Shelters were originally going to be built closer to the mountain.

-After the first fire, the northern side of the island lost the majority of the trees around the mountain. This is one of the reasons the shelters were shifted to the West.

-The island had amazing sunsets, so Ralph would try to have their non-emergency meetings around this time to have as many of the kids witness them as possible. Usually worked.

-Castle Rock was lower down in elevation than Fire Mountain, but it had a very good view of the whole island. It had a ledge above a part of the Eastern beach (where the pigs often lay. This is where Piggy dies. The feast took place in the westeast).

-The boys were on the island for 5 1/2 months.

The Biguns

Choir boys will be highlighted blue

Ages (oldest to youngest): Jack (13), Maurice (13), Roger (13), Ralph (13), Simon (12), Robert (12), Piggy (12), Eric (11), Sam (11), Bill (11)

[sorry if I forgot anyone, these are just the ones I have ages for. Choir has roughly 6 more members in my hcs. ]

-Took the choir a week or so to remember everyone else's names (-Piggy).

-Didn't really mind if someone stayed behind during hunts earlier on, but as time progressed, Jack and Roger would get more and more annoyed. Ralph, Simon and Piggy never joined but helped prepare the pig once or twice before roasting it.

- The majority of them, even Jack and Ralph, would have nightmares later on (think around the time Samneric found the parachutist) and it would put everyone on even more of an edge.

-Arguments would break out within the Choir boys frequently (mainly Roger and Maurice), and Simon or Ralph would have to mediate them. It became the norm until Jack overtook as chief.

-Roger was really the only biggun that wanted to join Jack in the end, even though Ralph kinda sucked. None of them really liked Jack OR Ralph (- Simon, Piggy and Samneric).

-Roger got the most into the final hunt, commanding everyone and instructing them how to hunt Ralph alongside Jack. They scared the littluns that were a part of the tribe and the younger biguns. Everyone enjoyed it in the moment, don't get me wrong, but like. Once that Naval officer showed up, they were INSTANTLY feeling guilty and horrible. (-Jack and Roger. They took time)

Individual Biguns

Jack:

- Kept his choir uniform throughout the duration on the island. Reminded him of when life was less complicated.

- Would still rehearse with the choir for the first month or so before everyone got too involved in the island to care. Jack would still sing whilst doing busy work, fire duty, or meetings to bring comfort to himself.

-Never hated Ralph. He felt very conflicted when interacting with him and was jealous of his authoritative role. He ultimately didn't want Ralph to abandon/hate him, and when this happened, Jack felt extremely betrayed. Even when hunting him at the end, Jack never felt hatred but rather power hungry.

- He and Ralph were friends for 3 or so months and would hang out often. They confided in each other and were actually really close.

- Suffered with anxiety episodes on the island.

- His hair grew so long to the point Simon showed him how to tie it into a bun with plants. He kept it like that for the rest of his time on the island.

- Watched the sunset with Simon, and they would hang out and rely on each other during the night. Jack didn't want to be seen with him during the day, but he would always pick him for hikes and stuff if he needed to bring someone else along.

- Speaking of Simon, Jack didn't realise it was him during the dance until it was too late to do anything. He grieved with the other choir boys and remained to feel guilty for a while. Jack (and sometimes the others) would go out to the beach where he died and make flower crowns, plant boats, stuff like that, and would send them into the ocean as a way to remember and say thank you to Simon.

- He and Roger are besties, and it's very cheesy

- Bathed a little more regularly than the others but not as often than he should have

- Rarely got sleep on the island and when he did it wasn't good sleep. Ran on adrenaline most days

- Loved being able to put on the clay mask because it covered his "ugliness"

- Lost a significant amount of his hearing during the plane crash/war and had a hard time navigating that on the island. Never really mentioned it to anyone until months after being rescued (this is partly @mccall-me-maurice 's headcanon and I love it so much)

Maurice:

- Gremlin, always caused problems and blamed it on Roger (I hc them as cousins)

- Smiled so frequently to the point it freaked Ralph out. The choir boys are used to it.

- Smiled as a way to mask since he hated talking about his feelings and felt if he smiled no one would ask if he was okay (mecore)

- Not very helpful but did what he was told....sometimes

- Didn't get along with the littluns (stupid sandcastles) and would tease them/stick his tongue out at them.

- Hyped up Jack's ideas but also listened to Ralph when he was chief

- Extroverted

- Didn't really put on a mask when hunting since it inched his face but he would paint his body to blend in better.

- Stinky boi

- Friends with the biguns and felt a little disappointed Ralph didn't want to join Jack's tribe

Roger:

- Quiet (unless he's being snarky) when in large groups but would become extroverted around Jack/Maurice

- Got bored so often he just caused chaos

- Had a hard time communicating his genuine thoughts into words so Jack would help him talk to the other boys.

- Sarcastic and kind of a smart-ass, especially to Ralph and Piggy

- Always mixed up the twins and started just pointing and calling one of them "you"

- Middle-child syndrome.

-Felt he did everyone a favor when he dropped the Boulder on Piggy.

- Friends with Simon, but they really only interacted pre-island (Kinda like with Jack, didn't want to be seen with him becuase he thought it would make him "batty")

-Perfered to do things in solitude or duos

- Had a very dark way of thinking about things and people. He still longed for authority and normalcy but thought of people as evil, and only a select few were "good." It's very contradicting, and Roger has a hard time navigating his thoughts.

- Always had intricate paintings whenever the group would redo their masks.

Ralph:

- Saw the beach and was all like "So much room to do cartwheels"

- Would watch the sunrises with Simon

- Got really bad migraines often and would have to be out of commission for a few days. Jack would take over and make a small army

- Always thinking about how life was before, what his family/friends were up to, etc...

- Didn't actually want to be chief and hated it for a while but grew to enjoy the authority that came with it

- Stole all of Piggy's ideas and would act like they were his own

- Would help the littluns but never enjoyed it

- Slept like an egg 🥚 (curled up in a ball almost)

- Would go on walks frequently to try and clear his head. Overthought everything, often stressing himself out over it and needing to then take another mental break

- Loved loved loved watching fire burn, even in the end

- Friendly towards everyone (on occasions) but only considered Piggy and Simon to be his friends (+ Jack for a few months)

- Felt really hurt that Jack turned on him. Ralph hated him for a bit but got over it eventually (like waaaaay post island)

Simon:

- Loved catching critters/bugs and showing them to Ralph. He would tell him their species, what they ate, etc

- Nocturnal. Literally was up almost all night just roaming the forest, doing fire duty, helping littluns, stuff like that

- Helped paint intricate designs on the choir boys the first time they proposed the idea to him because he wanted to paint something.

- Would make patterns in the sand, let the sea wash them away, and repeat the process

- Very calm and quiet. Didn't hate anyone

- Had a crush on Ralph but tried very hard to hide it. (Worked pretty well!)

- Loved the littluns with every bone in his body because they reminded him of his younger siblings. Did everything in his power to make sure they were comfortable.

- Despite being "friends" with Jack, Simon never agreed with his morals/ideas and found Ralph's more sensible. However, he didn't like either in an authoritarian role and thought they all should have been in charge and involved in making decisions.

- Knew he was going to die that night but wanted to warn the others/see them one last time

- Poetic. He would tell poems to anyone who would listen

- Calmed down fights, anxiety attacks, etc....

- Epileptic and hypoglycemic (constantly growing faint, so he tried to stay out of the sun as much as possible and take breaks when needed)

- Thought that the Lord of the Flies was God punishing him for his sins (he literally had none)

- Prayed often to bring comfort to himself

(I have literally no headcanons for Robert ;-;)

Piggy:

- Actually 🤓☝️ (I'm joking I swear)

- Got his feelings hurt easily but tried to hide it when he was sad

- Always thought of what he was going to bake with his Auntie when he got home

- Constantly came up with actually good ideas but never got to share them since Ralph kinda blew them off

- Had a few asthma attacks on the island (like 2 + the Canon one) and Simon and Bill would help him out

- Got very overwhelmed by the littluns but tried to keep them accounted for and safe

- Did the analytical jobs on the island and was helpful with counting supplies

- Enjoyed watching fish swim in the streams/ocean

- Constantly feared for his safety when Jack/Roger were near

- Didn't want to share his name in fear of being even more humiliated and ultimately forgot who he was other than "Piggy"

- Knew he wasn't coming back from Caslte Rock

- Bad at emotionally heavy situations

Eric:

- Enjoyed hunting even though he wasn't very good at it

- Always did the rough/physical jobs when possible since he hated feeling weak at home

- Corrected the others when they called him Sam

- Loves his brother but got annoyed with him frequently

- Didn't swim more often than needed because he was scared of sharks

- Wanted to protect Sam so he stayed close at all times

- Had probably the most fun out of everyone on the island because he had Sam with him

- Always eager to try new things/help out

- Seemed to get comfy quicker than everyone else

- Favored Jack and his tribe in the beginning but quickly changed up when Jack started going coo coo

- Had an attitude

Sam:

- Hated hunted. It grossed him out. He went anyway to stay near Sam

- Perfered to swim on the beach and hang with the littluns rather than helping Ralph with labor

- Loved the ocean

- Got annoyed with how protective Sam was of him since it made him feel small

- Enjoyed Castle Rock and the view that came with it

- Favored Ralph from the beginning and would do *somethings* that he told Sam to do. Was quick to suggest to Eric that they helped Ralph when possible

- Bird watched with Piggy and Simon

- Just overall a sweetheart to everyone

Bill:

- The only headcanon I have for Bill is that he was essentially the nurse of the island, and everyone would go to him for help. He learned all this stuff from his mom, who was a war nurse and just was super super helpful with keeping everyone from getting too badly hurt (this is also another adopted headcanon!)

Littluns

- Tried to start their own tribe and overthrow the older kids (didn't work)

- Has opinions about things and felt ignored most of the time

- Like 80% didn't make it off the island....

- Really just chilled in the sun all day

- Had fun throwing spears at Ralph in the end

Wanted to be real Hatter when he was a kid, aka wanted to make hats. But his parents said he wouldn't have that much money from it since not many people wear them anymore, so when finding what he could do, he got interested in hypnosis. At first, he thought of being magician but that got him further interested in the human mind. That's how he decided to be neurosciencist in high school.

That was one line I came up for some reason but I like the idea that he doesn't remember his parents. It might be just a delusion thing, where when he gets further into it he forgets people.

He got into drugs because it helped with his stress. I'm not sure what exactly he has but when stressed he starts cutting himself out of reality, which makes him get delusions.

Edward Nygma

Had abusive father and alcoholic mother.

Changed his name from Nashton to Nygma. He didn't want connections to his family plus he thought it was funny name play.

Worked for GCPD as detective and when Batman showed up he decided he will solve cases faster than him. Got really annoyed with police incompetence and decided show them how they wouldn't be able to take down real villain, even Batman wouldn't be able. That's how he became Riddler.

Is proud of his red hair and green eyes, thinks genetics is only good thing his parents gave him. Hates the fact that Pamela has it too.

Hates Barbie. Just entire concept of himbo/bimbo is annoying to him.

Has parrot named Riddlina.

Jonathan Crane

He was born out of affair which his great-grandmother was devastated by having a bastard in the family. She took him out for adoption, but his mother couldn't take it, so after great grandma (GG for short) refused to take him back, she killed herself. That made GG rethink it and took him back.

They had Tywin Tyrion relationship. Where GG still despited him but he was her blood, so if she was other boys picking on him she made so soon they won't get close again. That didn't stop her from abusing him, wanting him to be perfect Kenee.

She locked him up in closed and made crows attack him, though last one was for serious stuff.

In the end he killed her and refused to go back to that house again.

In the end he changed his surname to Crane after his father, because even though he didn't know him, he gave him less pain then GG.

Become atheist because of religious trauma.

Has green thumb from working on farm.

When GG was sleeping he read book under his cover with flashlight.

Was interested in goth aesthetic as teen but GG said it satanic clothes so he never dressed in that and now he feels he's too old for this.

Yoko met Birb through Nicky and the first time she saw them she was like "ooooooh, this lil bitch is BROKEN broken" and INSTANTLY went into protective mode

At first it was just chill, more like a "yeah, this is my friend Nicky, and this is Nicky's little sibling who I have ALSO adopted as my little sibling" to which Birb was just ECSTATIC, completely over the moon because "wow, I get TWO older siblings??"

Lil Birb would always try to show off to Yoko, whether it was with music or school or flying, that sweet thing wanted Yoko to think they were cool so bad. She did, but Birb didn't know that

They become more "equal" friends once Birb got into high school because then they could actually do, like, normal teenager stuff. It was still like they were siblings, but now they could go out and get coffees, or go shopping, or out for a night on the town just being besties

She was there through everything, with all the Nicky stuff and Birb's own physical recovery. It was hard, and it took ages before she could convince Birb to work on moving on. There were many sleepless nights just keeping Birb from going off the deep end

On a lighter note, Birb was the one who helped Yoko bag not only Divina, but Enid too. Yoko had been all pouty until Birb was eventually just like "Hey Divina, are you busy tonight? No? Cool, I'm booked but Yoko is free, you've both got reservations in town at 7, have fun!" And surprisingly it worked

They literally did the exact same thing to get Enid to go on a date with Yoko and Divina. Like, word for word, the exact same thing. Birb made sure to tell Yoko that they were all a bunch of gullible dumbasses

Birb has let Yoko drink from them on a number of occasions. It was only for emergencies, but they had no hesitation and were just "You're acting like a little bitch, just drink it and get over yourself." But Yoko got payback by reminding Birb how RANCID their blood is and how "you know, actually, it tastes like chicken. Fitting"

Yoko is Birb's emergency contact for everything. The hospital, school, eventually work. And Birb is Yoko's. They know that the other will be there in a heartbeat, no matter when, where, or why

They don't have as much alone time together, but when they do, they love to cuddle. Yoko loves the warmth and Birb loves the physical contact. They have never had any sort of romance with each other, but you would never know that if you saw them cuddling. Couple of homos
