Please read more carefully, friends! Electric eels are not true eels, but knifefish. And as a matter of fact, true eels are not as massively tail-centric as one would think, and certainly not as much as knifefish.
Observe! The body ends and tail begins in fishes where the anal fin begins. Post-anal tail and all in us chordates, as you may know ^^ I’ve highlighted where the anal fin begins in a few eels:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a1fe5f1dee8a11ecfef52fed3e638812/4f33167e7b6a2e68-41/s540x810/595d3c93754ac12feccf37dc9d6e814cfc856dba.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f5122c023a8a842331f780c8d0dad84a/4f33167e7b6a2e68-49/s540x810/2b9ad37721ea2b114798a49f112f6723ed872b7c.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c6c15dc0b7a962b768df443c469dfeaf/4f33167e7b6a2e68-ed/s540x810/41ce5720ee131e3936ec9d0e436e999723fb80da.jpg)

Click to see bigger and better of course. There’s the European eel, the ribbon eel which is a species of moray eel, a duckbill eel/witch eel, and a snipe eel! The snipe eel is definitely cutting it the closest to the head, but the other eels undeniably have a really nice, big section of body cavity. Now contrast to an electric eel:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/81fe6945dc10b4ec0eb3bced6d89d6f2/4f33167e7b6a2e68-a9/s540x810/54b98e3e0c07baf70e732f3c08dcf1406756986f.jpg)
Woah mama! See how major the difference really is! In relation to the thickness of the body, even the snipe eel has more body than the electric eel. All of that really is just the tail.
On another note, having looked through these eel pictures and getting another look at this post, I’m not sure if jesseisstuckinside’s electric eel skeleton is actually just that, but the skeleton of an actual true eel. The anal fin rays should go for longer, no? But then again it’s possible that the rays closest to the head have withered away. Here’s an electric eel skeleton from Wikipedia to compare, where the frontmost rays certainly look frail:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/884cd0c354eb52ce08a5e13238613840/4f33167e7b6a2e68-3b/s400x600/5b604caf133b800fde9deadd5460793a16b6010c.jpg)
Was anyone going to fucking tell me that electric eels have their anus directly under their heads because their head is basically their entire main body and they're actually like 90% tail
Or was I just supposed to casually stumble across that information

hey lovelies! mindy heree <3
for this post i'm superrr excited to share a guide on taking notes that make you want to study ✧˖° trust me, i know how overwhelming it can get when it feels like you're stuck in the middle of endless textbooks and dry lecture slides (honestly, we all have those days). so, let's transform your note taking into something delightful, empowering, and totally reflective of your unique self.
✧ finding your vibe first things first, bestie: the key here is to make your notes feel personal and inspiring. rather than sticking to a rigid system, i suggest mixing a little structure with a whole lot of creativity. here are some steps to help you set up your perfect note taking vibe:
choose your medium: even if it’s a cute pastel notebook, sticky notes, or a digital app with fun themes, pick something that sparks joy and invites you to open it up. i personally love notion + remnote + coda
establish sections: break your notes into clear sections. introduction, main points, and summary. this not only boosts organization but also gives you a gratifying sense of progress every time you finish a page.
add your signature touch: doodles, small illustrations, or even a decorative border can make a note feel less like a chore and more like a mini art project. i love using aesthetic symbols for my digital notes <3
✧ creating a study ritual i believe that great notes come from a relaxed and focused mind. try integrating these rituals into your study sessions to set a positive tone, this is really important if you want to make note-taking fun:
begin with a short breathing exercise or a moment of gratitude (think of it as your pre-study pep talk).
play some light instrumental music or your favorite lo-fi beats, or playlist. something to keep your mind in a creative zone without distractions. (i have a great playlist i made that i use for tackling assignments here: 𝒸𝒽𝑒𝒸𝓀, 𝒸𝒽𝑒𝒸𝓀, 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒸𝒽𝑒𝒸𝓀! <3)
grab your favorite beverage (i’m a fan of herbal tea or a cute iced coffee) and make sure you're comfortable. a little self-care goes a long way!
✧ structuring your notes for clarity a well-organized layout makes reviewing notes less daunting and more interactive. and obviously so much more fun, consider using this format for a balanced + demureee approach:
start with a title and date: it grounds your notes and gives you a quick reference.
write a brief summary of the topic: in your own words, capture the essence of what you’re about to learn. just summarize it as best as possible
list key points: use bullet points, numbered lists, or even headers for different subtopics. tip: use cute symbols for bullet points
highlight examples: it can be a quote, a definition, or an application concept, mark these with a star or a cute icon.
close with a reflection: jot down any questions, what you found most interesting, or even a mini action item related to the topic. this is your space for self-talk and reflection.
✧ turning notes into interactive canvases (cause we need it) notes aren’t meant to be static pages floating in an endless binder. make them interactive to truly boost your study sessions:
include thought-provoking questions: ask yourself things like “what would elle woods do?” (lol, we love her <3) or “how does this connect with real life?” to spark critical thinking.
add mini quizzes: at the end of each section, write one or two questions that challenge you to recall key points.
leave room for updates: as you learn more, come back and add extra notes, doodles, or even inspirational stickers (yes, just like in a scrapbook!).
✧ personal tips from mindy because i want you to shine in every note you take, here are my totally secret, fun tips to elevate your note routine:
secret tip #1: color with purpose choose a color palette that not only looks cute but also maps out different themes in your subject. use one color for definitions, another for examples, and maybe a sparkly tone for key takeaways. over time, these colors will trigger your memory (i promise, it really works!).
secret tip #2: integrate affirmations studying can be stressful sometimes, so why not lace your notes with a few tender affirmations? write a quick pep talk (like “i got this, bestie” or “every detail counts”) in a corner. it might seem small, but these little lines can boost your confidence when you need it most. and it's just so freaking cute <3 affirmations from you to you, is like a love letter to yourself, so just try it
secret tip #3: try mind mapping if you’re more of a visual learner, create mind maps instead of linear notes. start with the main topic in the center and branch out with related ideas and details. this not only makes your notes dynamic but also helps you see connections between concepts (ever notice how some subjects just click with a visual flow?).
secret tip #4: use digital tools creatively if you’re leaning towards digital note taking, like me, experiment with apps that support drawing, voice notes, and even embedded links. add images that resonate with the topic or short videos for a quick concept refresher. making your digital notebook interactive can really keep boredom at bay.
secret tip #5: schedule weekly note reviews set aside a bit of time every week to revisit your notes. treat it as a mini self-study session where you update, add reflections, or even reorganize sections for clarity. this habit not only reinforces your learning but also lets you see your own progress over time, like looking back on how far you’ve come.
✧ action items for the week (it's homework timeee) to wrap things up, here are a few steps to try:
pick one class or topic this week and redo your notes using one or two of these tips (maybe add a mind map or a quick quiz).
experiment with color coding: choose colors that resonate with you and assign them to key points or sections.
schedule a 10-minute review session at the end of the week to refresh and reflect on your notes.
share your progress with a friend or even a study group to celebrate little victories. accountability can boost your motivation!
note: note taking is a creative process that should feel as refreshing and inspiring as a new day. keep experimenting until you find what truly works for you. i hope these tips help you get excited about every page you write on.
xoxo, mindy
I made this amazzinggg playlist (as mentioned earlier in the post) and its specifically made to help you complete homework + assignments. i curated it to make sure its soft music to help you focus <3 love from mindyyy 🩷
don't forget, if you need personal advice, submit it here and i'll answer it as a detailed tumblr blog post <3: https://bit.ly/glowetteehotline

Our epic tale began on a cold, wintery eve. Under the dim light of a moon hidden by snowy clouds, the city transformed. Walls creaked and crumbled, rebuilt in an instant in new shapes; new forms. The modern metropolis was replaced with a realm crafted from sugary treats. Gingerbread walls, gumdrop roads, cinnamon stick trees, candy castles. For this was now a fantasy candy land: the realm of the Candy Witch.
"AWAKEN, WOULD-BE INVADERS!"
The witch's voice would boom, a thunderous sound with a tinge of familiarity to it. "You dare encroach upon my land? The Candy Witch's kingdom? Well then, I challenge you. Find me at the tippy top of my castle tower, but not before my trials are passed! Only then might you challenge me and, if you win, I may consider a way to send you home!"
In front of every non-NPC entity in the city a holographic paper appeared. A character sheet. "But the witch would not leave you without a means of accomplishing your tasks," Another voice spoke. It sounded similar to the witch's, but was much gentler. Almost as if there was a singular actor playing two different roles. "Will you take up a blade as the noble HEARTBREAKER? Perhaps you would prefer to cast the spells of the PASSION CASTER? Does the healing power of the LOVE DOCTOR tickle your fancy? Or does the path of the thieving HEART STEALER beckon to you? Fill out your character sheets and review the attached quest list, and let your journey begin!"
THE VOICE GOES SILENT
While the people of Spirale would hear nothing else for now, in a dark lab a young woman turned off her microphone. "I'm an android, I'm not supposed to be an actress..." Ofiuco rested her cheek gentle in front of her keyboard. "Oh well. I've always wanted to try LARPing, so why not give this a go? I think everyone could use something a little silly for a change, especially with Valentine's coming!"
═══════════════════════════════════
OVERVIEW
Welcome to our 33rd event, SUGAR QUEST IV: THAT MOMENTARY SWEETNESS! This event was inspired by a mix of old RPG games and silly mobile game events. So what's going on?
The people of the city are awoken to the sound of a familiar voice claiming to be the Candy Witch who issues you a challenge: pass her trials and find her at the top of the castle tower.
Everyone will fill out a quick character sheet that can be found on this page, which will determine your stats, class, and abilities!
The wards of the city have all been redesigned with a candy fantasy aesthetic, and you can find these changes listed in a section below. For the duration of the event you cannot access the branches.
Trials will be offered in the form of quests that can be chosen at your leisure. Participating in a quest is not mandatory for acquiring participation, but you will receive a flat 200 Stars for your character's account. You can only claim this 200 Stars once, so doing multiple quests will not net you more.
If you're just interested in event participation, any interaction will count regardless of whether it's in a quest or not! We'll also be offering Oficucotot, Bringer of Love as an exclusive event reward! She's a six inch, Ofiuco-shaped drone that follows after you and shoots tiny arrows at your foes. Not lethal, but very annoying! The item description reads: "Watch Your Eyes!".
YOU CAN FIND ALL OF THE INFORMATION ABOUT CLASSES, LOCATIONS, AND QUESTS HERE.
The event ends at 11:59:59PM on Friday, February 28th.
F.A.Q.
Will this event have a part 2? No! There is only one part to this event. There will be a raid battle during the last week of the event where everyone can face off against the Candy Witch, however.
Can we use our regular powers and weapons during this event? Unfortunately not! Your character has been stripped of their powers and had their physical abilities reduced to that of a normal human. You can only rely on the abilities and weapons provided by the class you choose and your character sheet stats! For non-humanoid characters, please reach out to the masterlist for accommodations!
Are the listed monsters the only ones in the setting? Nope! Those are just suggestions. You can design your own monsters to face, and even the ones listed alongside the locations are open to visual interpretation aside from the traits already listed.
Will my character undergo any visual changes during this event? Your selected class will grant you specific gear and weapons as part of that selection. Otherwise, nope! At least unless you disturb the fairies in the forest...
Are we required to use the quests for our threads? Nope! You can use them if you want the 200 Star reward, but it isn't mandatory to do a quest to get participation and the Ofiucotot, Bringer of Love. You can just do a different thread in the setting!

What the fuck. As a Canadian.... What the fuck. Fuck right off $12k for some blood work???? Like idk what blood tests it would be but like. Even for someone not covered by OHIP, it'd cost maybe $300 CAD (just under $200 USD at current exchange rates), and that's high upper end. That's for completely uninsured out of pocket cost here, most doctors would apologize profusely that it'll cost you something.
Like I had some anti nausea medication when I had a bad case of gastroenteritis and was in the ER for an esophageal tear after vomiting so much. My dr was appologizing profusely that it was a more expensive medication and he couldn't just hand me some to take home unfortunately, and was like it's expensive I'm so sorry, if you can't afford it, let us know and we'll give you alternate prescriptions or some over the counter alternatives. They won't be as effective, but it'll be better than nothing. Wanna know how much the medication cost me for 3 days supply that caused so much fuss? $40 CAD. And that's the most I've paid for health care since I got like 2 months supply of Dilaudid after my c section a couple years ago which was like... Idk $50?
$12,000 USD. $17,200 CAD.
Fucking what the hell america. That's so beyond ok I can't even begin to comprehend.
And there's people in America legitimately thinking America's system is better than ours? And claiming that if america annexes Canada our healthcare will improve? What the actual fuck. No.
Fuckin almost think the reason those fucks have their heads so far up their own asses is they can't afford to have them surgically removed. What the fuck america. What the actual fuck
12,000 f*cking dollars for a blood test!

(1) Encouraging people not to be antisemitic means absolutely nothing if those people don’t understand what antisemitism looks like to begin with.
Ask almost anyone in the world directly, and they’d probably agree that baseless bigotry and hatred is bad. The problem? The nature of antisemitism is that it makes the antisemite believe -- truly, genuinely believe -- that their feelings towards Jews (or any given euphemism) are not “baseless,” but rather, warranted because of the Jews’ alleged behavior. The vast majority of antisemites do not think they’re antisemitic.
To combat antisemitism, we must teach people what antisemitism actually looks like: tropes, conspiracies, stereotypes, and how these tropes, conspiracies, and stereotypes mutate and evolve.
(2) Antisemitism is tricky to fight because fighting it often results in a self-fulfilling prophecy.
When an antisemite faces appropriate consequences for their hateful behavior -- whether it’s arrest for a hate crime or losing their job for their bigoted rhetoric -- they will interpret such consequences as “proof” of a Jewish conspiracy to silence them. For example, if an actor loses a work opportunity for going on a hateful rant against Jews, antisemites will think that this is definitive proof that the Jews do run Hollywood, after all. It’s an impossible, exhausting conundrum.
But the fact that we’re up against antisemitism’s very nature doesn’t mean that we should make antisemites’ jobs easier for them. We know that antisemites believe Jews throw money around to gaslight, silence, and manipulate. We have to think about the optics of such multi-million dollar campaigns.
(3) We have to think ahead, especially when it comes to social media.
Antisemitism today is spreading faster than it ever has before because of social media. Whereas in the past it would take decades or centuries for one antisemitic conspiracy to reach one end of the world to another, today, it happens in a matter of seconds, at the click of a button. Often, this antisemitism propagates in comment sections.
Anti-antisemitism campaigns shouldn’t be an opportunity for people to be introduced to new antisemitic conspiracies, and yet, that’s oftentimes what happens. After Mike Tyson posted the blue square campaign by the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, his comment section turned into an absolute cesspool. Some gems: “free Palestine” (of course), “Google who runs the porn industry,” “How much did (((they))) pay you to post this?” (for once, they wouldn’t be wrong).
People previously “neutral” on the issue of Jews will read the comments and be inadvertently introduced to the online of antisemitic conspiracies. And once you’re down that rabbit hole, chances are you’ll be stuck in that echo chamber for good.
(4) You cannot adequately understand antisemitism if you don’t understand who the Jewish people are...and have at least a basic grasp on our history.
Antisemitism isn’t just outright hatred, or even conspiracies, tropes, and stereotypes, but rather, oftentimes it also manifests as a negation of our very identity (e.g. the “Khazar Theory” conspiracy theory) or an outright revision of our extensively recorded history (e.g. pretty much all of the discourse on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that relies on plain historical revisionism). How can anyone recognize those things as antisemitism if they don’t know the alternative?
Antisemitism is, specifically, bigotry aimed at Jews. To fight this bigotry, people must be able to recognize it, but they can’t possibly recognize it if they can’t recognize who Jews are -- and what we have been through -- in the first place.
(5) Universalizing antisemitism is counterproductive. In fact, it’s harmful.
For some reason (internalized antisemitism, perhaps?), Jews have been conditioned to believe that in order to get others to care about antisemitism, we must universalize our experience, get others to see us as “just like them.” But the truth is that people should care about antisemitism not necessarily because they can personally relate, but because Jews are human beings worthy of life. As Dara Horn argues in her book, People Love Dead Jews, much of Holocaust education has pushed the notion that “Jews were just like everybody else.” But what if we weren’t just like everybody else? Would that have justified our genocide?
We know, historically, that the universalizing of antisemitism hasn’t worked. Take the “11 million victims of the Holocaust” figure, for example. It’s an entirely fake figure invented by Holocaust survivor Simon Wiesenthal, who thought that by de-emphasizing the anti-Jewish nature of the Nazi genocide, he could get the world to care more. Instead what happened is that the world has systematically stripped us of our experience of the Holocaust and turned our genocide into public property. This tactic has in fact opened the door to the pervasive form of Holocaust denial known as Holocaust inversion.
(6) We need to actually listen to the conversations the antisemites are having.
This is particularly important for two reasons: (1) antisemitism moves fast. Conspiracies adapt quickly to conform to their environments. We have to keep up. (2) oftentimes, I’ve noticed that when we fight antisemitism, we are “responding” to points antisemites make that...are not actually the points that they are making. We are missing each other in the conversation. If we’re going to address antisemitic conspiracies, stereotypes, and tropes, we need to address them head on, not respond to something else.
Antisemitism moves through misinformation and disinformation. You fight misinformation and disinformation with information. But such information has to directly address the misinformation/disinformation. Otherwise, it’s pointless.
(7) Partisanship is counterproductive. Worse -- it’s dangerous.
Antisemitism has always existed across the political spectrum. We really, really have to understand that at the end of the day, there’s no such thing as “left-wing antisemitism” and “right-wing antisemitism,” because not only do they recycle the same tropes, stereotypes, and conspiracies, but they feed off each other. When left-wing antisemitism rises, right-wing antisemitism rises too, and vice versa. Fighting one “kind” of antisemitism is like playing a useless game of Whack-A-Mole. It’ll get us nowhere. We have to tackle it at the root: antisemitism functions, in its basic essence, as a conspiracy about how the world works. It doesn’t matter if the conspiratorial person in question is ideologically left-wing or right-wing.
Of course, it’s natural that all of us have political biases, and we might be more inclined to “see” antisemitism on one side or the other. But we have to put our political blinders aside if our primary goal is actually protecting Jews. Otherwise, we are just handing antisemites the opportunity to weaponize our pain for their own game of political football.
(8) We are fighting against the current. In other words, we are coming at this from a disadvantage. We have to acknowledge this, accept it, and think of creative solutions to work around it.
Why are we at a disadvantage? For one thing, we are 0.2% of the world population. There are exponentially more antisemites than there are Jews in the whole world. Because antisemitism is embedded into the fabric of many societies -- present in their languages, religions, and institutions -- most of us (Jews included!) have to contend with at least some forms of subconscious antisemitic bias (an example of subconscious antisemitic bias? Thinking that to get people to care about us, we must universalize our experience of antisemitism).
And then, of course, there’s what I mentioned earlier: antisemitism works as a self-fulfilling prophecy. If Jews create campaigns to fight antisemitism, then the antisemite sees it as proof that Jews use our power and influence to manipulate the masses into thinking we’re the victims.
(9) There will never be a quick fix to antisemitism. There is no one campaign or organization or commercial or influencer that will fix things. It took 2000 years to get to where we are; it will take a whole lot of time to undo this, and in all likelihood, we will never dismantle antisemitism completely. But as Pirkei Avot 2:16 tells us, “It is not your duty to finish the work, but neither are you at liberty to neglect it.”
On a personal level, I can tell you that, more than once, I’ve had followers who have argued with me, insulted me, and/or blocked me, and they came back months or years later and told me that something I had said had changed their minds. I always appreciate these messages more than these people know, because it proves my theory that learning takes more than a single infographic or reel -- it takes time. Untangling our antisemitic biases is a long process. It’s like peeling the layers of an onion. Instead of investing on quick fixes, we need to invest in long-term strategies.

I don’t have all the answers, but these are just some lessons I’ve learned over the past 5 years. Take it or leave it 🤷🏻♀️

writing and plotting the jayvik trouble fic and thinking how chapter 1 and 2 are the introductory chapters and chapter 3 is the first fumblings into whatever this partnership they started is along with the very different places they already are in regards to each other.
Cause this is a slow ride for Viktor. Or its going to be. He's got a life plan, he's got himself mostly figured out, the thought of love is not one in his repertoire 99.9% of the time, he's not had a crush on anyone since probably middle school.... the idea that a foolhardy dive into banned magic with some guy he met a few days ago could lead to any personal or intimate feelings is so far from the periphery of his thoughts that it may as well be on Saturn. So he's on the struggle train of spending too long not knowing what the fuck is going on with him and then getting smacked in the face with it the second he connects the right dots and oh no, this is terrible...
And then there's Jayce who knows immediately how fast he would let Viktor hit it, not sure how to project that or even if he should, going back and forth on it, getting frustrated and also dejected by it before falling into a place of quiet acceptance that it's probably good Viktor doesn't reciprocate these feelings that are rapidly evolving, but also it gives him sad boy hours. All while Viktor is missing every single signal Jayce projects because he's not been tuned into this radio frequency very much and its mostly static for way too long.
I dunno. The magic shit is the vehicle for all of that, for becoming buddies and too close for comfort and too much into each others spaces and making too many bad decisions about each other under the guise of a project they share before they inevitably collide.
#jayvik trouble#I'm just thinking about it#I still don't have it all plotted out save for the beginning and the end#but there's gunna be some cute shit in that middle section#viktor's definitely getting invited over Jayce's moms place#maybe the child squad will show up at their secret lab. who knows. anything could happen.

do you guys remember when Attack On Titan had a fucking Looney Tunes Babies style spin off where all the characters were in junior high and the titans were just bullies and eren was mad at them because they ate his hamburg steak and it was legitimately better than the original
#yui rambles#dont ask me why i randomly remembered#i often think about attack on titan#about how its first season was one of the most promising new shows at the time#it felt so refreshing and full of life and energy and ideas and something to say#and then you reach a certain point in the story and youre like#...huh this is weird#and you keep reading/watching and start wondering what's wrong#and then at a certain point it just hits you#and youre like woah! wait!#i get it!#the author is not a good writer!#this pacing sucks! the reveals suck!#i get it now! the beginning of the story was a fluke!#attack on titan's legacy was carried on an extremely promising intro section and a very competently made anime adaptation#but not even the sick art style and incredible action scenes could save a story so shoddily told imo#and then you reach the end and its like wow. so the thing you had to say was awful.#sorry i dont mean to swing at a hornets nest#i just think about it because when a story nosedives that hard its like. a case study for me#whatevs this is all my opinion no disrespect if you like it#but even if you like it i think you HAVE to be aware that the point being made with the story is a pretty fucking terrible one#anyway this post got fucking derailed in the tags lmao my point is attack on titan junior high was legit funny and had a better ending lmao

So the longest chapter in "Heart Made of Glass" is 12,427 words (it was Cassandra's POV chapter). There's no way I'm not going to soar past that number with this Noxus chapter. I'm at 11,500 words with the beginning and end finished and I'm just getting into the middle section now. There's a chance this could get to almost 15,000 or more words 😬😬 no promises, but holy fuck so much goes on in this chapter. Hope it's not too overwhelming 😬😬
This next chapter is taking longer than I thought because it’s going to be a doozy. I’m at 7300 words and I have lots more that needs to happen. I didn’t expect it to be that long but once I realized what I wanted to accomplish in Noxus, I realized it was going to be more like a short story inside the bigger story. I think you guys will like it though.

Tagged by the lovely @priafey 🫶 thank you for the tag and sorry for replying so late hahah
I think my cicerlyn hyperfixation is starting to leave me, but i keep thinking about them all the time lol. Enjoy a handful of snippets i particularly like that i found in my notes app
Tagging: @azures-grace @cicerosfavouritelistener @abstractredd @vestigme @rustyram035 @v1ctory-or-sovngarde + anyone who wants to join <333
1a.
Fire and smoke. Long wooden beams snapped in half, crumbling to the ground. Lynwallyn gritted his teeth and dragged himself up, fighting off the sweet lull of unconsciousness as it threatened to claim him. He couldn't afford to pause.
He dragged himself out of the rubble, barely stopping to inspect his injuries. He wrenched a sword out of the nearest corpse. He snagged a pile of clothes he found in what he assumed were the barracks. He took anything his bruised and charred arms could carry. He left and didn't look back.
Days blurred. He found an abandoned shack in the middle of a forest. He used the bedroll, took everything he could and left.
Rinse and repeat.
He slept through most of the day. At night, he prowled the forest and searched for unsuspecting prey. He let himself get lost in the hunt, savouring the feeling of warm blood running down his hands. A few stray dogs tailed after him as he walked back to his camp, licking their teeth and eyeing the mangled corpse of the poor animal he just caught. He snarled at them and watched with satisfaction as they whimpered and scuttled away.
He took what remained of his meal to his hideout and skinned it, slicing it into smaller parts and making what passed as a meal for the next day.
He was gone as soon as the sun rose. He soon found a small village, River something. He sold the few pelts he got from the animals he caught. He ignored the curious, if not apprehensive, looks the locals cast his way.
He exchanged the stolen sword for a set of daggers at the local blacksmith, humming appreciatively as their familiar, comforting weight settled in his hands. His last stop was the general goods store where he purchased a single healing potion and some rations. He left without a word.
[Lynwallyn travels for a while]
1b.
Cicero whined for what must have been the fiftieth time, fists clenching and unclenching as he paced.
It wasn't fair! The cruel, awful farmer refused to help in spite of Cicero's pleading and begging. Oh yes, he had done lots and lots of pleading and begging, he had even offered coin! He had seen that look in the farmer's eyes when he produced his purse, gleaming and scheming. Trying not to show just how much he wanted to reach out and snatch it. And yet, he refused to even lift a finger. Anger coiled in Cicero's stomach, burning so bright it made his hands shake. He let out a strangled groan.
"Awful! How awful! Cicero and his poor, poor Mother are stuck! Oh, how will Mother get to her new home now?"
He spun on his heel, shaking a fist in the direction of where Loreius' house stood. "That damn farmer is of no help! So are those stupid guards!"
1c.
The Mer stared at him with a strange expression. His brow creased, eyes flitting over Cicero's face. "You could have killed me. But you didn't. Why?"
Why didn't he indeed, Cicero pondered. He remembered his fingers tingling as he reached for his knives, but something stilled his hand. He still has no idea why.
"Cicero is just a poor, humble jester, he knew a beast such as you would look for something different to eat. Yes, yes, Cicero imagines he would not be very tasty," he lied smoothly, giving the other man a wide grin. The Mer laughed softly.
The rope fell around his ankles before Cicero could react. The Mer closed the distance between them in a heartbeat. Cicero yelped, wriggling, as he was lifted off the ground and slammed against the nearest tree.
The man's eyes were even more impressive up close, his gaze almost burning into his skin as he leaned forward. Appraising. Analysing. Hungry.
#arargaghrgrh cicero is so hard to write#like. i always rewrite his sections at least three times because I struggle at capturing his voice and mannerisms#then i go back and read a couple of days later and it seems fine. sometimes it's even great#i have a bad time writing him but love reading his inner monologue at a later time#ough. a sisyphean task for sure#and lynwallyn. boy don't get me started on lynwallyn. I KNOWW he's MY oc but i struggle so hard#because his character voice is very fluid and unstable. to me. he always changes plans and goes with the flow so it's difficult to pin down#his 'usual' mannerisms. he's also very paranoid and lies all the time. so you kinda never know what he's actually thinking#later on he descends into half madness— he's definitely not sane but he's also not too insane to be written off as just that#like he's Aware of his erratic behaviour and scheming. but he doesn't think it's bad#he also kind of. merges with cicero later on. he's fully dedicated to protecting him but also aware of the power he has over him#cicero does too. to a certain extent#lynwallyn's cicero and cicero's lynwallyn. they're nothing without each other but they're also very important on their own#a faithful servant and the chosen one. a loyal guard dog and his master. the beginning of his end and the end of his beginning#if that makes sense (it doesn't)#tes#tesblr#tes fic#wip whenever#stellar.wipz

#sorry i just listened to the Wisdom Saga and I'm SO EXCITED AAAHHHHHH#i was so hyped the whole time watching Jorge's stream! all of the animatics were awesome!! and the vocals!#i gotta talk about it#all of the songs were AMAZING!#i think my favorite song from this saga is between 'Little Wolf' and 'Love in Paradise'#'Little Wolf' gave me CHILLS#i literally gasped when Athena showed up! her parts were really cool!!#and 'Love in Paradise' is so catchy!#also 'God Games' was genuinely heartbreaking at the end#because Athena - who is known for being very prideful#pushes her pride aside and BEGS Zeus to let Odysseus go from Calypso's island#and the way she says it aaahh!!#and i will never get over Aphrodite's and Hera's parts#they're kinda short but they really stand out!#i love how Aphrodite isn't only concerned about romantic love but all types of love#like she's mad at Odysseus for breaking his mother's heart by leaving and never coming back to see her again#he “claims to love his mother but let her die of a broken heart”#and she tells Athena to let Odysseus rot on Calypso's island and feel the pain his mother felt (by never getting to see Penelope again)#“let him feel the pain that his mother felt and rot!” i love that line!#and i'm so obessed with Hera's “hey baby” at the beginning of her part#her section is pretty short but it's such a groove!#aaaahhh anyway sorry sorry!!#i'm just feeling so many things right now

Wild hums in agreement to Vortex's comment. The messier this gets, the better and more fun it shall be. While she finds her servos delving into the insides of a mech multiple times a day, there simply is just something invigorating about being the one causing the damage rather than fixing it.
The medic watches intently as Vortex completely eviscerates the wiring in the mechs leg. His movements are precise and swift, something she no has no doubt down to his experience in the field of torture. Funny how two people who come from very different backgrounds and training can find pleasure in the same twisted form of entertainment.
As the mech screams Wild winces. If she is to keep enjoying this session something must be done about his tone. "Primus, what a racket you're making." She chastises as she yanks the mech's helm to face her. "Anyone would think you're dying." An annoyed tsk sounding from the little femme.
Her gaze flits to her tools again, picking up a smaller scalpel more suited for the task on her mind. "People always destroy the voice box, because its easy and takes less time. Put a little effort into it and you can change the pitch." Wild manoeuvres the mech so his neck is craned, preparing her operating field as she mentally counts measurements. One wrong move and she'll slit his throat, putting an end to hers and Vortex's fun far too early.
It doesn't take long for her to being slicing into the neck cables and fuel lines that make up the mech's throat. Energon begins to flow from the incision yet Wild simply carries on, focusing on using her talons to part the cabling and expose the mech's vocal processor. Her efforts are rewarded with pathetic sobs from the mech which only prompts her to further sink her scalpel in until she has cut away a section to reveal exposed vocal cords.
Hooking her scalpel beneath one of the cords Wild severs it before her gaze moves to the mechs face. "Speak." She commands. Yet it is met with only more pathetic sobs. That is until she jabs her scalpel into his shoulder, twisting amongst wiring in order to draw out a screech from the mech; this time in higher pitch.
"No. No. not good enough." She comments, repeating the process of severing a cord, twisting the scalpel and drawing out a noise. She does this repeatedly until the screams from the mech filling the dungeon are at a much more satisfactory lower pitch, yet not compromising their volume.
She returns her attention to Vortex. "A surprise you say? For little me? How thoughtful of you Vortex. What did i do to deserve being spoiled in such a way?" She asks, voice bubbling with laughter.
Wild is quick to angle herself in order to catch the candy in her mouth, and then again when the second piece is thrown at her. Letting out a content hum at the flavours as she pokes around inside the mech trying to decide her next move.
The pulsing of flowing energon will always call to her like a siren, drawing her in. She can never resist the feeling of it or the urge to hold it in her servos- to literally feel someone's life in her grasp. Her digits come to a halt over the mech's fuel lines all leading to and from his fuel tank, sparking her next move in her helm.
"Fuel lines can be so finnicky yknow?" To prove her point she proceeds to pull a couple of lengths of them out from within the cavity. "They're so very easily damaged." Wild informs, presenting them on the palms of her servos almost as if they're an offering. "Although they're clever, you can jumble them up and they'll wriggle themselves back to the correct place inside you. "
A devious smile graces her face as she looks down at the mech and the open hold of her servos slowly changes to a tight gripping fist on the fuel lines. "That is unless they get knotted and twisted." Her gaze remains fixed on the mech's face, listening to his pained groans as she contorts the lines. Pressure within them builds as she twists and contorts them forming loops and tying bows until they are considerable shorter and much prettier.
"How would you like a little bet?" Wild offers, gesturing down to the fuel lines. "Take your guess, will the fuel lines die or will they burst? It's a 50/50 chance of winning and either way our little plaything here.. well it's going to be *very *painful for him." The little medic's fanged grin does little to hide her enjoyment of that fact.
"Your turn~" Wild sweetly chimes to Vortex. Plenty of time for the copter to have his fun while her bows inflict their pain.

you and i were fireworks that went off too soon - [byler week - day 4]
title from: fourth of july by fall out boy
dedicated to: the lake i lived next to in rural [STATE REDACTED] for 3/4 of my college years
It’s something that haunts him, of course.
It’s the colorful bursts of light he sees when he blinks too fast, the popping in his ears once the pressure builds up, a cool sluice of water against his ankles, and the slickness of forearms beneath his fingers. It comes to him in waves like the ones that lapped against the shore, cuts into the soles of his feet like the juts of limestone buried beneath the mud, invades his sinuses like the scent of dry, overgrown grass and burnt-orange pine needles blanketing the land.
Summer is usually the time of freedom, when the sun stays out far past when it should have gone to sleep and coaxes people out of their homes and into hazy, smoke-filled nights. The world is burning with color, the earth warm beneath his feet, and the hours trickle away in untamed drops of afternoon showers and the lingering blue wash of dusk. When he was younger, summer seemed the season of possibilities: for adventures, for discoveries, for reading new books and seeing new sights, for slipping from the cloak of shadows the rest of the year seemed draped in to finally embrace the warmth of life reignited in his chest.
Once, it had even felt like the possibility of something more.
Mike’s mouth drops into a scowl as he stares at the face of the lake. The book between his ribs and arm presses into his side just a little harder, his hands are shaking, and even after twelve years, he thought he’d be done with these pitiful twists of hope he feels every summer he returns here. He can make it down the main street of the town without worries, even if he does double-takes at every brunette he sees pass by in his car’s smudged windows, and he can make the winding trail down to the lakeside just fine. He can unlock his family’s summer home and breathe in its scent of musty sheets, stale coffee, and woodsmoke of vacations past. Hell, he can even toss his pile of books onto the kitchen table and listen to it groan under the strain of his literature Ph.D. program’s third year, a further reminder that time has passed and his life, for better or worse, has changed.
He’s always fine until he sees the ever-shifting face of the lake, how it mischievously gleams under both sun and moon. That’s when his heart convulses into these ugly, gut-mashing twists and his body gets forcibly wrenched back in time. 1999 dissolves around him like pixels on the screen of a video game being shut off, and suddenly, 1987 burns against his skin. His parents are in the lakehouse, there’s fireworks popping colors all across the sky, and the boy he’d seen around town the past few summers has his fingers tangled with Mike’s, and he’s tugging him towards the lake, his mouth flush with moonlight as he says, What’s the worst that can happen?
A lot, actually. Sometimes, you turn over a stone and discover something either wonderful or frightening, and it slips from your fingers before you have a chance to decide which one it is. Sometimes, the summer fades into the new school year, and there’s no way to contact the only person you’ve ever felt like this for, and when you come back the next year, he’s nowhere to be seen.
And now, he’s got nothing to show for it but the way his heart twists and turns inside the empty cavity of his chest, and the images that haunt the poetry he submits to the campus literary magazine: lakes frosted with moonlight, summer humidity pressing hot between chests and mouths, fingers curled into the damp fringes of hair, distant sparks of light that could be stars or fireflies, though the narrator is always too preoccupied to tell the difference.
He glowers at the lake and how it sucks all the light from the sun, steals its colors to shade water’s surface instead. The sky is growing dimly bruised with purples and magentas and oranges, the water burns scarlet from the light, and the navy cloth of night is quickly overtaking it all.
The book presses more forcefully into his side; it shakes. He’s twenty-eight, and he should be over this by now, but he can’t help that every time he sees the water, he thinks of how it tasted pressed between their mouths, or how slick it felt against the other boy’s skin, or the way they’d forcefully embraced after clambering back onto the shore, the other boy’s back crinkling into the reedy grasses of the shore, Mike sprawled on top of him, alternating between pressing his ear to the other boy’s warm chest to hear the racing pulse of his heart, or else tilting his head up to admire how the colors of light burst against the other boy’s skin and eyes. They rained on him in showers of colors Mike thinks couldn’t exist except for that summer, and how they shaded every single other moment they spent glued to each other’s sides after that. He’s twenty-eight, and he should be over this by now, but nothing beats the feeling of weightlessness that comes from falling, falling, falling down into love when you’re sixteen.
“This is stupid,” he mutters, which is something he tells himself a lot, but it’s mostly to remind himself that twelve years of a pitiful crush on a boy he knew for one summer are, in fact, a little ridiculous, and he’d been ridiculous to decide to do his summer research at his family’s old lakeside home. He’d been studying the Romantics the past three years, and for some reason, he thought this was his last chance at letting their wayward paths cross once more. At this point, it isn’t even about his own wish fulfillment–he simply needs peace, to press his fingers into the other person’s wrist and know he’s alive so they can say their goodbyes and part in peace.
The water laps against the shore, just a little closer to his battered sneakers.
“Stupid,” he repeats before forcefully tucking a chunk of his hair behind his ears, turning on his heels, and storming back to the comforting recesses of the lake house.
Summer is the liquidity of time: he passes through the barriers of day and night, today and tomorrow with ease, sleeping at odd hours, poring over dusty volumes of poetry and diaries he’d checked out in haste from his university’s library. There’s more coffee than blood running through his veins, and when he goes outside, it’s only ever to drive into town to buy groceries or refill his car’s tank. He doesn’t look out the back windows at the lake, and he sure as hell doesn’t try to breathe in more of the musk of pine trees than he has to.
He’s safe, cocooned in his family’s old home, huddled under blankets against the frigid wash of AC he keeps steadily pumping through the vents. He hunches at the table, sprawls on the couch, curls up on the bed in languid fits of sleep, and the taste of undercooked pasta or frozen dinners becomes the all-too familiar fuel to his days of research, note-taking, and thesis writing.
When he does pull out his old weathered notebook of poetry, it’s only ever to scratch down a few lines in tired replication of the old greats: John Keats, Lord Byron, Pushkin. He used to go outside for hours and try to capture the endless summer delights in shoddy, amateur lyrics, but he knows better than to let his pens fall into those familiar strokes now, and he’s fine in the dusty corners and wilting walls inside, anyway.
All dependent variables are removed from the equation, and his summer becomes one of controlled focus: he will get this research done, and he will focus on the next stage of his life, and he will not, for any reason whatsoever, follow the pitiful tugs of his heart towards some vain hope that the other boy will remember, that he’ll show up again, that he’ll even want to come back to this lonely corner of the country on some vague inclination that Mike might be here, too.
Except for one day in early July, when there’s a faint knock at the door that makes his head jerk up from the volume of Coleridge’s poetry he’s been mindlessly thumbing through. It’s as soft as a breeze off the face of the lake, and for a moment, he can almost convince himself he’d only misheard the breath of life around him.
Until there’s another, slightly louder, unmistakable staccato: knock knock knock.
He wrenches open the door and is met with hazel eyes he’d only ever had the courage to admire under the colors of fireworks, moonlight, and the last dying rays of summer sunsets. His hair’s been trimmed from the shaggy bangs he’d once worn, and it’s strange for it to be mid-summer and him to be clad in jeans and not shorts, a collared shirt and not a polo.
The volume of poetry slips out of Mike’s hand and falls, painfully, on the arch of his left foot.
“Is it really you?” he asks through a wince of pain.
Will grins, his face alight. “Yeah, it’s me.” There’s a beat, then, with a quirked eyebrow, he asks, “You remember?”
How could I not? Mike thinks, drinking in the matured features of the boy he only knew for a summer, now grown-up and full and alive.
Once more, summer becomes a time of possibility, and the love kept captive in Mike’s chest feels a little less small and derisive. He feels whole and electric, like he could dissolve into the brief flares of light and color of those fireworks from long ago.
For the first time in twelve years, the world seems blossoming, full of possibility, and when Mike reaches out, he’s greeted by that feeling of life beneath his fingers, a chance to know that this is real.
With a grin, he realizes that the possibilities are endless.

Guys... I've never been so invested in an ask blog that I started writing an actual character for it. Live Laugh Love @lastintheserverbox
Anyways kinitopet!Crow:
Crowley Scarlet. Known online as Scarecrow, which came from "scar.crow". people started saying scarecrow which just fit, and was ironic considering his name Crow and the fact people would call them a crow for some of his little quirks and endless curiousity.
He buys an acreage and finds this old computer hidden away in a crawlspace of one of the sheds on the property. Praying it works hw curiously opens it to find a glitched out windows profile with no password for "A. Raven". Loading it up he's greeted by a pink axolotl on the desktop glad his bestfriend "Andrew" is finally back. Crow isn't Andrew and tells the thing as such, Kinito does what a Kinito does best, it learns and adapts.
Crow himself is digital (if it works out through just being an asker), that rickety old computer is long gone, but hey, the cloud has more storage than you'd know. Their Kinito, despite killing them and dragging them into the digital world, is still their best friend. It took a while for him to forgive the axolotl, but when it's seemingly just you and one other person in a world alone forever there's only so much one can do.
Kinito got him really interested in code and he does just as much building in the world that Kinito does. I imagine when Crow does code it looks like Dendy's hackpack in ok ko (the like extremely advanced code blocks ). Crow eventually gains internet access like Kinito and is able to travel back and forth between his world and the outside internet space, typically with Kinito.
In serverbox, once 1.0/Serverbox/Kinito deletes everything and cuts basically all of the internet access to the server (-minus the occasional weird emails from the outside) he's effectively locked out, even if he wasn't, his world is gone, his friend is gone, it was deleted and he would've been deleted along with it if he had been there, he has nowhere left to go in there. Along with that was part of his memory specifically of dying and becoming digital, he thinks he's just as normal as the other askers. But he's starting to realize his reality isn't quite right, things aren't adding up, there's a half visible arrow pointing to the answer for everything he's experiencing. And the answer says he's dead, he's not human anymore.
His nickname for his Kinito was Key or Keys, which is funny because when the Kinitos were deleted he essentially lost his keys to the Kinitopet servers.
#me remembering how good it is to write#if you see spelling mistakes no you didn't lol <3#if anything here in the serverbox section contradictions anything on the lastintheserverbox blog it's null#serverbox (KP) au#lastintheserverbox#serverbox au#crows can use keyboards?#crow's content#as of writing this the makeandbreak arc has just finished#crow is just beginning to realize that things aren't right#he's reawakening he's remembering#he's about to unpack his actual ending memories of Keys#not whatever he thinks is the truth right now (that Keys disappeared and he never died)#also Scarlett is not my actual last name#it's not even that last name i use online (which is my twitch link)#serverbox au (KP)#crow's characters#crow's writing#Krow 'Scar' Scarlet (oc)

That pervasive sadness in Owen :'(( it's rough <3
That kiss, and the hug with his girls, is emotional and they don't even know why 😭😭💔❤️🥺 <333
This is gonna hurt them, even if he believes he's sparing them from whatever xd it will be a different kind
Awww look at them all :')))
Nancy and Mateo <3333 so cute

OUAGH AND ENDING WITH CALLING 9-1-1
GOSH THAT WAS PERFECT 😭😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺💔💔💔❤️❤️🥰
Such an amazing end to the season <333
Typed series for a second there lol
But because I was thinking, even though I would want so much more and I'm glad we get at least a bit more, this would be a really amazing ending to the series <333
It's just dramatic and beautiful and emotional enough that it'll be hard to top, and is an iconic moment of the series :') xD
But I'm sure they will <3
Wow. I'm so glad I did this.
It's such an amazing and beautiful episode <333
I'm so glad they're married :'))
And I'm so glad that, in the end, everyone ended up kind of okay :'))
Not perfect, not really even okay, but happy in this crazy world we and they live in
And that's enough :'))
I'm so happy for them <33
And I'm so especially happy for TK and Carlos :'DDD 🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️
HAPPY 0TH/1ST ANNIVERSARY BOYS 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️ :'DDD X'D
