I just wanted to say how much I love how you keep in mind the 70s for the marauders era. I was a bit surprised that most in the fandom tend to automatically lean more towards the disco bell bottom vibe in their depictions but I always thought they would be more on the British Punk movement in the mid 1970s that was pushed by the youth culture due to social unrest and a desire for rebellion against established norms. So if in muggle clothes my mind tends to lean towards influences from Vivienne Westwood and more tighter clothes like the band Blondie (Debbie Harry is my fashion icon!) but I love all the fashion from that era! (I feel like Sirius is the one does get depicted with these influences the most consistently). And even the snippet of James and Sirius fleeing from the police, I always thought them wearing those T-shirts with the golden phoenixes could have been actual Queen band T-shirts they bought while in the muggle world that they thought both looked cool and could represent The Order at the same time lol
Hi! Yes! I love keeping my jily and marauders canonically in the 1970s because a. its fun and b. I genuinely find the time period fascinating and perfectly fitting for their arcs within canon (lots of civil unrest, societal change etc. etc.)
I agree that the general idea of Lily really does skew towards ABBA, Fleetwood Mac lover (or if we are going modern TSwift girl)....but if you are one of those people reading this I'm really sorry to disappoint because that's not my girl....
I have a very strong head canon that Lily had a very eclectic taste in music and personal style due to many bored summers back in Cokeworth. She would have bopped along to ABBA and loved a good Tusk track from Fleetwood Mac, but I think her music tastes would have probably skewed more pre new wave/punk/glam for a few reasons:
Her best friend was Severus Snape: During our teens we usually glob on to whatever our friends like--it's kind of natural because navigating the world on our own sucks. Honestly, I think Snape would have had very little tolerance for music much less muggle music, but if you put a wand to his head he'd much rather play a record by, say, The Damned or Leonard Cohen than the glitzy disco pop that is ABBA. Lily brought various styles of music into his life and he was the litmus test (better or worse). Naturally she would gravitate to listening to music he would stomach because that would mean making him happy. (See below about her relationship with music+James)
2. Her life...kinda sucked: If you haven't caught on by now, I like my Lily a little bit tragic. If we just focus of what we know from canon we can compile this info about her: She came from a poor factory town, parents are somehow out of the picture by the time of her death, sister hates her guts (since childhood), best friend morally betrays her, and she's ostracized and discriminated against in the WW because of her blood status. Now, I'm not saying people with shit lives can't be listening to the top pop 100 charts, but in a great generalization sad/angry people listen to sad/angry music.
3. She was part of a fascist resistance group (or grew up with the mindset to join one): Again another generalization but a radical political leaning like this would probably poise her closer to a punk/grassroots movement than anything else.
Now, on the other side of that coin ( I know you didn't ask but I'm giving you the hc anyways) I think James would be a top 100 pop girlie (and also a 60s stan haha)....and I think Lily found that really refreshing. One of the things I like about Jily is that James was the breath of air Lily had always desperately needed. He was a confident, loyal, positive, action oriented person who stuck up for the people he loved to a fault. He never knew half of the suffering Lily grew up with (nor Sirius or Remus for that matter) and I think that's why all three of those characters gravitated towards him: he was the symbol that hope and happiness were possible.
For this reason, I always hc that James would like disco and love song pop hits and those high glam artists like Sweet or David Bowie. I also think he would be very skewed towards 60s sounding music because the WW (in my hc) is a decade behind the MW as far as culture and influence so he'd be still bopping around to The Beatles, and Donovan and The Kinks like that shit wasn't old news---and again I think Lily would love him for it because it was adorable.
Most importantly James' golden rule was that If Lily loved it, he did too (or at least respected it). Unlike Snape who would groan through some album she brought over, James would enthusiastically listen and (love it or hate it) be eager to understand why she liked an artist. He wasn't dismissive when he didn't like something and challenged her to think about her tastes in a positive manner.
I also agree with you about muggle clothes, but I think Lily would still be eclectic to match her music tastes. I think summers she would be a t-shirt/shorts or halter top/jeans person. She was feminine but it was natural--white eyelet shirts, a pinafore or two for nicer occasions. I think her style would probably fall somewhere into a Stevie Nicks meets Patti Smith situation, but she aspired to wear more edgier oriented clothing ( and did but only for shows/going out).
For James and Sirius: I always find it a little funny that James and Sirius are styled so differently in fics/art because those two did everything together and-again- teenagers tend to follow each other. Granted, these two are pretty big personalities so there would be a small difference, but I think generally both would be a t-shirt jeans/trousers guy with some sort of jacket (leather for Sirius/ Suede for James). James would skew a bit more 'straight' and Sirius more punk but I don't think either would be as overt as people like to depict (they weren't in the MW that often so there was no need to really flesh out this style beyond easy basics).
Sorry for the rant but I LOVE a good meta conversation about fashion and music. If you are at all interested I made a Lily playlist of what I think she would have listened to. I'll link it below!!

Live long and fuck in Hondas (or 'why that Vulcan salute is way more significant than you think it is')
Hey. Hey Holz. Did you know Deadpool and Wolverine fucked in the Odyessy? Did you know that they now live in a one-bed with Blind Al? Did you know that -
Yes, friend. I know all of it. And you're all super fucking valid for pointing it out.
... But maybe all of you aren't seasoned Trekkies like me. Maybe not all of you gorgeous people understand the true significance of this.
Or maybe you just want a definitive way to win the argument of "are these two fucking?"
But either way, I'm here to help, and to tell you why, amongst all the absurdly homoerotic text of this film, this moment? Might be the gayest of them all.
Now, we must start by saying that although you wouldn't know it from the bullshit Abrams films, these two:

Are the fathers of gay fanfiction. Spock and Kirk here are the reason you're living in the fantastic timeline where you can write/read men fucking without any other shred of plot and that this is a legitimate and normalised internet experience - everyone say thank you, iconic papas. These guys were so homoerotically coded that even in the 60s, the era of wondrously overdramatic performances of all kinds and fairly prevalent homophobia, The Girlies still took notice, still started mailing each other fics and making zines and being just hugely excited at the thought of these two getting space-married. They are fandom as we know it today's beginning, and seventy years later they're still an enduringly popular ship on AO3. (You should all go and watch Amok Time, by the way. Contains the Honda Odyessy scene of the 60s, except there's weird biology and wrestling and just go and put it on your screens, thank me later. They fucked on that planet.)
Anyway, these two were as close as early colour TV could ever allow two men to be, deepening their *coughs* friendship almost every single episode or film - Trek's creator Gene Roddenberry even gave them a unique word in Spock's Vulcan language, with the meaning of 'friend, brother, lover.' (And if that isn't ringing any Poolverine bells, I'm not actually sure what you want out of this post. Enjoy it anyway, love you.)
... And then we get to 1982's The Wrath of Khan, and to that moment that every iconic screen couple must face - the ol' classic, it's you or me and I won't let it be you.

Sure, the set-up's a little different here - the chamber Spock's in is filled with radiation, and the scene's quieter, softer. And Kirk isn't a mutant so he can't smash his way in, he can just sit there and inwardly die as his emotional support Vulcan does.
... But you get where I'm coming from here. Ryan Reynolds doesn't take a million other potential love scenes from across the cinematic ages - no, he takes this. What is for many the romantic acknowledgement of a whole generation. The humble and desperately sweet beginning of it everything we fans know and love nowadays. The most ambiguously romantic homosexual relationship in television, directly comparative to what is now arguably the most ambiguously romantic homosexual relationship in cinema. And lest we forget, Wade doesn't believe in a fourth wall - this is a conscious choice, both in canon and in the writer's room.
Oh it's so clever and so beautiful a girl could weep. Ryan just introduced the MCU to the gays, just as Kirk and Spock did all those years ago to the masses of the time.
And then there's what it means.

This is the Vulcan salute, created to mean either 'live long and prosper' or 'peace and long life' - it's used more or less interchangeably.
But part of that's irrelevant when you're as immortal as these two.

So we're left with the sentiments of prosperity and peace, given to a man who up to this point can't imagine ever prospering again, is the furthest thing away from being at peace. Wade gives Logan the opportunity to go on, to find the things he's been lacking for so long now - things he has already helped him find. Spock tells Kirk during The Wrath that 'the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few,' and that's exactly what Wade's doing here - sacrificing himself for the greater good of his friends and his newly beloved, however much it will hurt them all.
And that's lovely, and poignant, and character-growing, and I think we all would have been content to leave it at that and have our noble sacrifice, however much we would have wept. Kirk goes on to find the remnants of Spock's soul in the next film in the series, to bring him essentially back from the dead because he felt it was more than his own soul's worth not to have done... which, again, ringing a bell anyone?
Because Logan, in not so many words, tells dear Wade to fuck right off, and we get this.

What we've got here is a direct translation of one of cinema's gayest moments, made somehow infinitely more gay. A true achievement here - I genuinely think I spontaneously acquired tetanus in the cinema for a good minute, my jaw dropped so hard on seeing this. The pillars are the same colour as Kirk and Spock's original uniforms, for fuck's sake. I'm dying out here.
What we've done here is create narrative equality. The whole film's kinda done that leading up to this anyway - they're both mentally fucked up men who can't die, who are constantly dying anyway, who are evenly-matched in battle and both enjoy Honda fucking, who have forged a real love even as they piss each other off at every turn.
But here, they place one another in narrative equality for the first time. It's not about a sacrifice, not now, even though they're assuming it is one - it's about what should be done. It's about righting wrongs, being heroes, being together because every option other than that is unacceptable, because neither understands quite how to lose anyone else. They've both made the same choice, and that's not to let the other die alone.
It's about holding hands and loving and never letting go, even if it kills them.
... It's just about the most romantic and gorgeous thing I've ever fucking seen.
There are no more instances of masks, once they're done in this station. They don't need them any longer; they will never need them again.
And that's only emphasised by the parting shot we get of this... almost directly after Vanessa and Wade share a final sweet look.

I don't know, man. It's almost like the true conclusion is hidden behind the acceptable masquerade. Imagine that in the MCU, folks.
They've taken one of the most intimate and sweet moments in screen history, and made even more glorious.
They did The Wrath of Khan better than The Wrath of Khan did it.
And that's... that's gay. That's just about the gayest thing they could ever have done, and I adore it to the smallest pieces.
So remember, the next time your friends disbelieve you... show 'em this. Show them that they redid the very beginnings of slash fandom, and did it better.
(And then you can add on that they now live in a one-bed with their grandma, daughter and dog, and will do for the rest of their lives. Kirk and Spock didn't even get THAT shit.)
#deadpool and wolverine#poolverine#wolverine#deadpool#ryan reynolds#hugh jackman#spirk#james t kirk#spock#the wrath of khan#tos#deadpool and wolverine spoilers#I have been fucking killed by this being on my cinema screen thanks for listening

If you’ve been on social media today, you may have seen a certain word trending: Zouis. But what does it mean? Well, Zouis is portmanteau of Zayn and Louis. Specifically, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson from One Direction.
The pair were spotted together in Los Angeles, with Tomlinson attending Malik’s gig—sending the internet into a frenzy

With Zouis spreading like wildfire on social media, this story operates as an interesting example of how fandoms can deal with grief, and, for once, how the internet can be a positive communal force.
What’s Happening With Zouis? Why Were Zayn Malik And Louis Tomlinson Together?
Zayn Malik is currently on his Stairway To The Sky tour, and is playing several nights at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California.
Louis Tomlinson—who was in boyband One Direction with Malik—attended the show on Jan. 29. This is the first time the pair, known as Zouis, have been together publicly since One Direction bandmate Liam Payne’s funeral on Nov. 20, 2024.
After Malik left the group in 2015, One Direction broke up the year after, and the members have rarely been together since, with each pursuing solo careers.
This makes the appearance of Zouis a special moment for fans, as well as seemingly for Malik and Tomlinson themselves, with the former referencing his bandmate’s attendance at his concert in glowing terms:
How Did Social Media React The Appearance Of Zouis?
The online world went wild for the return of Zouis. There are tens of thousands of tweets about the event. Many of which show pure enthusiasm:
While others contain simple declarations of love towards Zouis:

There’s a sombre tone to some posts which reference the death of Liam Payne:
While difference accounts are self-referential about their own reaction to the partial One Direction reunion:

There’s one overwhelming trend though: pure excitement and adulation.
Why Is Social Media Reacting To Zouis In This Way?
There are a few things at play. Firstly, One Direction fans are renowned for their obsession with the group. Combined with the size of the boyband—3.4 million people saw them during their Where We Are tour alone—this means there’s a huge community of interested people whenever news about them drops. Like Zouis.
But there’s also a more sombre side to this overwhelming online reaction, and that can be linked to a sense of loss.
It’s common for fans to form parasocial relationships with people they follow. Effectively, this is when individuals believe they have a close tie with public figures, even though this is a one-way friendship. Often, this is driven by the perceived intimacy of social media.
This can induce serious emotions. So, when a member of a group like One Direction passes away, as is the case with Liam Payne, it can feel as though someone they’re close with had died.
When Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson came together for the first time since the funeral, it can feel like a cathartic moment for fans, as though things are righting themselves. One way of dealing with this outpouring of emotion, then, is to post on social media.
And that’s a key way of viewing this explosion of activity about Zouis: a celebration.
People are not only expressing joy at seeing members of One Direction together, but this enthusiasm also acts a tribute to Liam Payne. This creates a sense of community, of an entire fandom coming together and praising a new chapter in something they love.
Ultimately, the spread of posts about Zouis displays a positive side to social media, one where people share a connection and come together in unity. In these divided times, that’s a beautiful thing to see.

Thoughts on remadora?
thank you very much for the asks, anons!
while they are by no means my otp, i really enjoy remadora as pairing - and i think they’re fully up there among the canon couples in terms of being an amazing vehicle through which to explore all sorts of questions about life and love - which i am aware is a sufficiently controversial statement that it involves an immediate engagement with some discourse…
because remadora girlies [gender neutral] get an enormous amount of shit within the fandom, particularly from fans who consider wolfstar to be a more plausible pairing for lupin than tonks. i have seen remadora shippers called homophobes for simply enjoying the couple, justified with the bizarre idea that it disrespects remus' relationship with sirius [so... the non-canon one?] to put them together. i have seen tonks turned into a pathetic shrew who is trying to keep remus from the real love of his life by trapping him with an unwanted baby. i have seen remadora shippers get a lot of the usual stuff that people who prefer the canon-endgame couples do [that to ship a canon pair is boring, that it is indicative of a lack of talent, that it indicates an uncritical support for jkr] magnified to eleven because tonks has the temerity to be a barrier to remus’ relationship with the fandom’s favourite hot and brooding man.
obviously, this is bullshit - primarily because its unreasonable and cruel to invest so much time and energy being mean to people because of their harry potter shipping preferences [fandom should never be that deep].
but it’s also a disappointment to me personally because it means that it can be very hard to find the sort of remadora i like without looking like i’m coming to contribute to the pile-on. because where many remadora fans and i don’t see eye-to-eye is that i have absolutely no interest in thinking about them as a relationship which is actually functional. and, all too often, i find myself sifting through fics which do prefer to interpret them like this - as romantic and passionate and stable - largely, i think it’s fair to say, as a defensive move against the tide of “urgh, imagine shipping that” nonsense - even though all the evidence of canon is that they are… very much not.
i am aware of the pottermore article which smoothes the edges of lupin’s canonical reaction to tonks’ feelings for him in half-blood prince - but, while i read this as something of a retcon to make the relationship more palatable, i also don’t think that assuming that both tonks and lupin’s attraction to each other was sincere precludes them being as dysfunctional as they canonically are. i don’t go in for the common anti-remadora argument that tonks “forces” him into a relationship with her - it’s clear in half-blood prince that it’s not only her who has discussed her feelings with molly and arthur weasley, lupin is definitely flirting with her when they pick harry up in order of the phoenix, lupin is an adult man [no matter other power imbalances between him and tonks - such as the fact that she is an agent of the state which oppresses him] who possesses the capacity to refuse her advances, and - since teddy’s conception is not immaculate - he has no issue with enjoying a sexual relationship with her even if he then wants to run away from the product of that.
instead, what i like with remadora is that they reveal something which goes against the grain of the rest of the series: that love is not always enough. throughout the seven-book canon, we see time and time again the idea that love - and, crucially, love-as-noble-suffering and love-as-sacrifice - is enough to overcome any problem. entire civil service collaborating with a terrorist regime? don’t trouble yourself, love has won. your mother dying in childbirth leaving you to be neglected in a state institution? your own fault you’re not interested in love.
i understand the genre reasons for this, but i also love the way in which lupin especially exists on the margins of these genre conventions [just as he exists on the margins of wizarding society!]. i’m always struck in deathly hallows that he’s the only person who’s actually realistic about the demands of war - particularly when he tells harry that it is breathtakingly naive for him to think he can get through the fighting without having to shoot to kill - and that part of him having to be shuffled out of the way when harry tells him to return to the pregnant tonks is because, were the story focused on realism, the idea of a wanted man who is considered an unhuman by the state fleeing in order to guarantee the safety of his wife and unborn child becomes eminently reasonable and harry's defense of the nuclear family embarrassingly unradical.
and so i like the idea of lupin seeing tonks - and tonks seeing lupin - initially as just a bit of fun, as the two of them being just two chill single people who think the other is hot and interesting and want to bang because of it.
[which is something fandoms in general really struggle with as a concept. we like epic love stories - and you won't find me objecting to that! - but we're less good at thinking about casual sexual attraction or transient friendships, and how these can be transformative and meaningful without having to end up going any sort of distance.]
and i then like the idea of the relationship being forced into a profundity it doesn’t really have the juice to sustain by the sheer avalanche of grief which besets the two of them - sirius, dumbledore, mad-eye, ted - and by the pressure of the war and the fact that the order is scrambling and the hangover of remus' self-destruction in half-blood prince which makes each cling to the other as a life-raft. i like remadora as something codependent and messy and strange and sad, and i don’t think this prevents it being sincere and fun and based in mutual attraction, but instead that these positive qualities can exist in conjunction with the fact that, without the war, it would have been a summer of fucking and that was probably it.
on tonks herself, i don’t think i can say it better than @evesaintyves in this meta on her character. i’ve been really uncomfortable with quite a lot of stuff i’ve seen recently which has taken against the idea that tonks can be meaningfully read as queer on the basis of what we find in the text, above all because it so often comes with the implication that one cannot imagine her in her canon endgame pairing and presume that she’s something other than straight or cisgender. eve sets out an excellent case for tonks as bolshy and liberated and in tune with herself and fun and confused and in flux and still figuring stuff out about who she is and where she’s going - and this translates, may i say, to an astonishingly beautiful way of writing her, lupin, and the dysfunction inherent between them which i highly recommend you read.

Wait I've been thinking–someone once posted about Xavier wanting MC to like just Xavier right??
But anyways, it got me thinking more in detail about his identities. Throughout his times on Earth, Xavier has had to make so many personalities for himself and create so many versions of himself just to make himself seem like a normal person. Btw this is so hard for me to put into words so bear with me here 😭.
But it's a well known fact among most Xavier girlies that he himself has probably had a few identity crises, and I just want to build up on this idea. Xavier himself doesn't view his other versions as him. He sees them as completely different.
Xavier: Whilst Lumiere is kind and gentle, I'm apparently harsh and cruel?
He doesn't see his other version as him, they're other people who he associates with, but nothing further. They're different personalities of him.
Xavier: And when you see Lumiere, you appear to be a lot happier than when you see me.
This just proves that even if the fandom sees Lumiere and Xavier as the same person (thus the jealous Xavier joke) he doesn't think Lumiere is him. Lumiere is a completely different person than Xavier, and that is why Xavier finds it so easy to get jealous over Lumiere.
But my main point isn't that–It's the fact that the Xavier we see might not even be the real Xavier (or in other words, is a personality made to protect his real self/a mesh of his dozens of other selves). Going back to Xavier's comment about Lumiere, it proves that Xavier can have different personalities, supported by the fact MC mentioned him to be a good actor. (Can't remember the exact line). He's familiar with this, my earlier words about us not seeing his real self was a joke btw. We see his real personality because you can compare him with Lightseeker (Pre time travel) and see that they are the same. But it just got me thinking about what-ifs. Xavier can create himself many personalities, the reason he's good at acting is because he becomes his other selves. So in other words, he becomes them, but they aren't him. Xavier can become one of his other personalities, but he will never see himself as them. And if we weren't MC, then we probably would have had to face one of his various other selves rather than the actual self he hides behind dozens of other personalities. And it shows, after a whole year, Xavier is finally showing us his true personality, and we're getting to see more actual sides of him than any mysterious fakes. And Xavier likes that this is happening. Whilst MC also has her reincarnations and versions, Xavier has his own personalities and identities. Supported by Xavier's line in the 21 days memory.
Xavier: Every version of me belongs to you, and every version of you, belongs to me.
So yeah in a sense MC and Xavier are kindred spirits. And whilst Xavier may not reincarnate or resurrect, he does live through lives and personalities. It makes him both difficult and easy to characterise.
God I think this went off the rails, and if you've read through, thanks. This is my rant for Xavier whom I love with all my life and soul. And sorry if this ended up offending anyone, or confusing anyone, or if I actually was wrong all the way. I'm human, and can make mistakes, please rather than arguing, just tell me my mistake so I can correct myself!

Edna and Libber are rotating in my brain, so here's some ideas for the future Edna & Libber sisters story I'm writing, which for now I'll call 'Fractured Lightning' that are just miscellaneous thoughts and headcanons I'll eventually get around to implementing in a larger story, or I might just make them into a collective of one-shots 1. Edna and Libber are 5 years apart in age, with Libber being the younger one. It's a rare occurrence, but while Edna was supposed to inherit their father's lightning powers, it somehow skipped her, finding Libber as its master instead. Edna definitely wasn't bitter about this for many years. 2. Mr. Cuddlywomp was initially Libber's stuffed animal that they got at a carnival. Libber wasn't leaving without him, so a 10 year old Edna spent 5 tries at a dart game before finally winning their prized possession for her stubborn little sister. Libber kept him in her room for years, and was really attached to him. 3. Libber was a massive geek and fandom girlie, in particular, she was a fan of Starfarer, and would get every single issue as soon as it came out. She was also the one to push Cliff into auditioning for the role of Fritz Donnegan, and guided him through the lore. 4. Edna was someone who never was on the front lines, but contributed to the Serpentine war effort as a medic, finding it a better use of her skills and time. She also looked after a very young Lily after the latter's mother passed due to a genetic illness, and kept a strong bond with her until Lily herself passed. 5. Libber's engagement and wedding to Cliff was ridiculously quick, which was a major red flag for Edna, who tried to convince her sister that this was going too fast. The two fought bitterly over it, to the point where they didn't speak for over 20 years. 6. Edna was cut off from their family's wealth and status (reason why is being workshopped) long before she met Ed. She never spoke about it to him, not wanting to go home and grovel for money even when things were tight for them financially. 7. Just like how Ray was Wu's best friend, Libber was Garmadon's, to the point she tried setting him and Misako up long before he realized he had feelings for Misako. 8. Libber finally contacted Edna right before she left, begging Edna to take her newborn son, as she feared for his life. Despite her situation, Edna accepted after seeing the desperation in her sister's eyes. 9. After that day, Libber was declared missing. Edna spent the next several years trying to piece together what happened to her sister, only to come up short every single time. She initially asked Ray, Maya, and Lily for help, but as they all were taken away from her, she slowly lost hope, until eventually...She gave up. 10. Wu and Garmadon both thought Edna would tell Jay about Libber, hence why Wu never said a word. They were wrong.
(If anyone has any thoughts about these, feel free to comment or send an ask about it! I've kept this mostly to myself as I've been plotting this and the Overcast story, but I've got something of a plot cooking here that will start coming out once I have my general outline done)

The Anomaly Series, Chapter 2: Connections (Jod Na Nawood x Reader)
A/N: Soooooo. I may not be able to do this every week, but I had a spurt of inspiration recently, so for now I decided to keep going. Hope that's okay!
Chapter Title: Connections
Genre: Drama/Romance; Slow Burn
Word Count: 1,235 words
AO3: Click Here!
Special Notes: Have I done some research that suggests how Jod is both a Force-Sensitive AND a space pirate...? I sure have. Do I have any clue, though, how the parents are going to shrug off this dystopian government in order to find their kids? I sure don't. Nevertheless, the spoilers here remain more or less recent.

They’re watching you now, this Reclamation Committee, and not because you’ve recently performed any Acts of Service to your community. On the one hand, as the formerly missing kids have already been sent to their Debriefing and will be cleared to return home as soon as possible, naturally, their family members will be joining them in whatever room or building this procedure is scheduled to take place.
On the other hand, however, Wendle has still already given you his raised eyebrow treatment; Undersecretary Fara has promised you your own round of questioning; and all the others you’re not that acquainted with yet have already started up on their own respective grumbling. Apparently, they’re getting just a little bit fearful that you might try to help this notorious space pirate escape justice, or so you can tell rather well by the changes in their expressions.
Small wonder, then, that you’re only too happy to exit your work site when the time comes, your mind caught between annoyance and mild panic at the harshness of this new treatment.
Who in the galaxy do they think they are, these people in charge who are quick to judge you over a single minute of weakness? Nobody asked that criminal—that man—to tag along on the children’s flight home, so obviously, you were just as surprised as they were to see him stepping off at all.
You also didn’t expect any ‘suddenly proven legend of deep space’ to come in looking like that, let alone somebody so notorious as this “Crimson Jack”. That, too, had been a shocker for you, and if you could have your way—which, Maker willing, you would soon enough—you would be all too careful not to look into his eyes a second time for fear of drowning in them.
No, if the tiny queasy feeling you felt deep inside your stomach told you anything, it would be more than smart to stay away from that one. You already had the life that your parents hoped for you, the stable job that your little society had seen fit to grant you, and to top it all off, you would be meeting the first of many potential Life Partners in the next 2 rotations.
In other words, there was no reason whatsoever for you to throw all of this safety and security away.
So why, then, did you find yourself thinking of him all over again…?!
Before you let yourself stew in what you call ‘the old mental juices’ too much, you sit yourself down in your chair almost as soon as you walk into your small apartment; the muted tones of light yellow and pale redberry having a slight soothing effect upon your otherwise rattled nerves. With your careful choices of white linen curtains, pale orange chairs, and light brown side tables with a few personal items scattered throughout, it’s just about everything a lady like you could ask for after such a difficult day. All that’s really missing here is your afternoon cup of caf, your hour’s worth of contemplation and reading up on local headlines, and finally, when you’re ready, a quick dinner made on your little stove.
And yet, even though you know you’re calming yourself down and there’s no one else around to bother you...still there’s an odd buzzing feeling coming from the back of your head, almost like something’s just a little out of place.
Or, dare you even begin to think it…like somebody might be watching you.
Without thinking twice, you turn quickly to look behind you, your breathing and heart rate going up a notch. There aren’t any strange people grinning down at you from any place nearby, or, at least, not on the inside. Maybe one of the security droids was out on patrol, and you heard it roll past your door just now. Perfectly normal procedures. Very present, very helpful, and absolutely nothing for you to worry about.
At least…not until your focus shifts to your electronic notepad sitting on the side table, as well as the single word that instantly sends a chill up and down your spine.
Hello.
Oh, kriff it, but you know for a fact that you’re not the one who wrote that message. Not only has your matching pen been sitting motionless beside your notepad, you’re also about 99.9% sure that if anybody had broken in before your arrival just to mess with your head like this, the security droids would have already caught them.
But then again, if absolutely no one from the outside—yourself included—could have written that, then who did?
I see you.
Your answer comes in an instant, the letters appearing upon the screen just as surely as if he—that man, Crimson Jack—had been standing there and writing them himself. Your pulse might not exactly be slowing down at the sight of it, since you’re now a bit disturbed that somebody like him would dare to barge in unannounced like this, to start slipping past your defenses even if he couldn’t exactly see that they existed in the first place—and yet.
Nothing could have prepared you for the rush of emotion that comes afterward, or that even deeper, almost painful, sense of heat and cold that threatens to overtake you. It’s enough to make you want to turn around and run right out of your house, your neighborhood, possibly even your sector—and still feels heavy enough to keep you frozen in place.
And still, over everything that’s happened today, over his surprise appearance, your even worse reaction to making eye contact with him, and all the responses of your associates that clearly frown upon you now where they once smiled at you in welcome—there’s one last question hanging in the air.
What. Are. You?
You almost expect some instant response out of this, some reply that could otherwise validate whatever connection, commlink, thing, is happening between you. Whatever it is, it's certainly felt like a force of nature written small, and so you're watching that screen in a shaky silence, almost daring the words to appear.
You'll have to start writing me back, sweetheart.
A few seconds pass by before you remember your pen, the obvious choice for something so simple as this. Of course you're going to have to rely on alternate means of communication, because as far as you know, neither one of you has any datapads with a direct link to the other, and so you're both left at a huge kriffing disadvantage here.
Ugh. Get it together, stupid.
This is why you don't think twice about scribbling the words upon the screen, though not without hoping that whatever higher power might be in control of this situation, they find a way to not think of you as a failure. That you're somehow worthy to take this a step or two further, and so establish a direct line of communication with Crimson Jack as soon as possible.
Provided, of course, that you can manage to sidestep both your superiors and the security droids.
Thankfully, it’s not that long before Jack himself responds to you once more, the letters forming on the screen a bit slower this time, like he’s putting a bit more thought into them—and with it, there comes your next surprise of the day.
It’s simple, sweetheart. I’m a person who needs your help.

I believe it is time for me to talk about piper again
Something i really dont like about this fandom is that we were quick to hate her even though the main reason wasnt her character
People generally hate her because of her relationship with drew. The problem here though is not piper, but the way drew was portrayed by the author. Drew was a flat character, and to me she was a lot like Nancy Bobofit (who didnt appear a lot tbh). In my opinion, if we knew drew a bit more, hers and Piper's fight would be much more interesting.
They also hate her because she ONCE said that the aphrodite cabin was shallow. We all know how rick has treated the aphrodite kids, right? Percy has said many things like that about them but noones hating on him. I know that is not an excuse but see the difference on how we treat the white boy?
Another reason is that she is not as traumatized as the others (??whywouldthatbeareason??) and people say she complains a lot, which, to be honest, i did not see in the books.
To start with, she was most of the time neglected by her dad who didnt understand her needs and never paid attention to her (to the point she had to steal a freaking car thank you very much). We' ve seen she was treated really bad from the kids in her school (racist comments and also comments about her family) and lets not talk about how bullying affects teenage kids. Lets just say that we all sympathized with percy when he was bullied and changed schools all the time but noone talks about the fact that piper was also bullied (and not by having pb&j thrown at her, which is also bad but...)
People also say that she is a "pick me" and "not like other girls". First of all, shaming her because she doesnt wear makeup or isnt stereotypically "girly" is more misogynistic than anything you say piper did.
She has never ever said anything that implies shes doing so for boys. Sje genuinly didnt like those things and people straight up attacked her for being a teenage girl with MASSIVE OTHER PROBLEMS TO DEAL WITH.
She did not shame drew for liking makeup as far as i remember, she only called the cabin shallow because they treated her EXACTLY like her bullies.
Also she "only talks about jason" and is "possesive". Hmhm. Reminds you of anything? OH! ANNABETH! But the white blond girl was excused because she was a "teenager", yet ive never seen anyone defend PIPER'S mistakes with that excuse, even if it is the truest thing for both her and Annabeth.
I have nothing against percy and annabeth, or people who headcanon piper as girly, but we should remember that canon piper was a teenage girl and support her just like we do with annabeth.
Thanks for reading my rant and i would love to hear opinions. I hope i didnt sound too agressive defending a fictional character hehe.

I want to like Amy but her fans make it difficult.
Every other moment they're throwing another character under the bus to make Amy look better when that shouldn't be necessary. It's like they're playing victim over something that people don't do anymore.
If Amy is perfect like they claim then they shouldn't feel this threatened whenever another female character gets any kind of attention or praise. But without fail every single time another female character is girly, kind, brave, or anything else you can think of, it's somehow an attack on Amy.
Imagine if Sonic's fans got mad everytime there was a new character who was confident and athletic. That's how ridiculous this is.
Normally I'd say it's not really equitable not to give a character a fair shake just because their fans are being obdurate, but I can sympathize with your mindset when it comes to how folks gas up Sonamy. If they were chiller about it, I'd probably like it more. While I appreciate Sonic and Amy's dynamic as friends, I swear people portray it as an issue of life or death, and it's so freaking tiring.
Despite not posting about her much, Amy is actually tied with Maria for the third spot in my favorite Sonic characters list. Both girls are great characters for similar and different reasons. It doesn't make much sense to me to claim Maria is boring when Amy displays many of the same traits.
Heck, I kind of think people exaggerate how bad her Battle portrayal is, making it out to be the bad apple that spoils an otherwise good bushel. It's not fantastic, pretty Yikes(tm), actually; yet you'd think she singlehandedly ruined the game based on the way folks hone in on her portrayal at the expense of ignoring the others. ...and idk, I still laughed at a few of her lines. :v
Amy sits in the same boat as Shadow in that everyone holds their own interpretation of the character close to heart and will get defensive if you say otherwise. I've noticed a certain stubbornness among Amy fans that is also shared by Shadow fans. One time I said "I'm an Amy fan, I don't need a crash course on her character" in response to being linked a thread on her character, and got hit with "oh you're just saying what everyone else says." Like? bruh?
I'm just not one of those fans who's like "AMY DESERVES EVERYTHING EVER." She has her flaws and foibles, just like everyone else in the cast. She has a tendency to step on toes, be a bit whiny, overbearing and one-minded... and it can be simultaneously true that her kindness wins over hearts. Amy contains multitudes.
But it's almost like, for many people, taking her as she is isn't enough. She needs to practically be shown curing world hunger in order to be considered as valid as the boys or something… Which I kinda find more offensive to her character than dismissing her outright.
Why does Amy need to star in everything before you're happy, even though of the female cast, she's technically enjoyed the most screentime? Again, not to pit two bad bitches against each other, but Maria's representation isn't exactly sterling, especially considering how often folks objectify her as Shadow's morality pet or treat her death as something to shock non-fans into thinking the series is Deep and Dark(tm). If you're really for better female representation, you should be arguing for better representation for every girl character, not just saying "let Amy get hers and fuck the rest." This shouldn't be a competition. Everyone can have a seat at the table.
First the fandom consensus was "Sega sucks because they didn't include Amy in Origins." Then when they actually did that and included her in Superstars to boot, fans proceeded to move back the goalposts. Superstars doesn't count, apparently, because (insert spurious reasons here).
Maybe it makes me a bad Amy fan or whatever, but I find her crush on Sonic to be the least interesting aspect of her character in part due to how much emphasis people put on it. She and Sonic cannot have a single conversation without fans being like "OMG OMG THEY LOOKED AT EACH OTHER SONAMY IS CANON," even if canon implies that Amy is imposing on Sonic, such as SatBK's manual describing Sonic preparing for their date as "awaiting a stressful encounter."
Although I can acknowledge that Amy's crush is integral to her character, the way people talk about it makes it seem like female representation in the series as a whole is at stake every time she's mishandled. There's apparently a hashtag trending on Twitter called #letamylove that was made in response to what people perceive as Flynn's mishandling of Frontiers!Amy, FFS. They can't just say "Amy sounds too depressed in Frontiers," no, it has to be blown up into a near-political issue.
The other thing is that people who ship Sonamy often ignore Sonic's feelings and comfort in the matter. Ohshima's tweet that Sonic isn't a "real man" due to his reluctance to express his feelings towards Amy exemplifies this. It's like Sonic is considered some sort of prize that Amy earns through personal growth, when really, folks should be arguing for Amy's personal growth for her own sake.

What are your thoughts on shojou/shojousei mangas? Especially about the writing of the "typical shoujo style romance" that animanga fans like to talk about? This is a quite long but I kind of want to rant a bit about it here.
In animanga twt sometimes i see shojou/shoujosei fans act like the most victimized group of people and are bitter because those genres are not as popular as shounen. They cite reasons such as misogyny of shounen readers which might be true to some level, but then again, something about the way they frame it as this way only doesn't really felt right to me.
For starters, based on my very limited knowledge (and perhaps personal bias and preferences as well) most popular shoujos are (het) romance focused, usually full of fluff, with the exception of few such as rgu, rose of versailles, and sailor moon which is in the adventure/action genre and has f/f in it (i guess?). But these animes are like, from a decade ago and I don't think there's any newer popular ones like those now? There's the exclusively yuri genre as well which mainly centers lesbians and not heterosexual couple but it's for a segmented audience and not really mainstream (maybe?) with a few modern ones that are booming right now such as that green yuri manga.
Most shounen, both the old and new, are action/adventure-centric so it explains the gap in popularity between shounen and shoujo as the action/adventure genre usually has more mainstream people more invested in it. But nevertheless, the gap in popularity between the two has made many shoujo fans (at least the ones I see on twt) eternally bitter anyway so its not rarely I see them bashing shounen for being mid, slop, and most prominently, they hate fujoshis in the shounen fandom for "being into gaybait", while glorifying the writing in shoujo as magnum opus pinnacle of romance or something.
Anyways, shoujo/yuri stans are usually one and the same and in twt some of them act very elitist and aggresive towards shounen fans and you guess it, Sakura/SS stans usually are lumped in with this group. They kept saying things like SS is a shoujo couple, SS is yuri coded, bla bla bla. And ofc many of these shojousei stans display a subtle form of homophobia as well, treating the display of fluff heterosexuality in their fav shoujo manga as a pure and girly aesthetic of soft pink coquette (some yuri enjoyers also talked about their f/f ships like this sometimes, drawing them hyperfeminine and all), while calling fujoshis who ship mlm in a shounen manga gross degenerates or something.
From my personal opinion, I feel like the "shoujo style romance" these people love to boast about for some reasons, tends to represent that type of bland traditional heterosexual romance depiction, with the feminine shy awkward girl, and the cold ice prince unfeeling guy who ignores and rejects her until the very last moment when their love is suddenly reciprocated. It also reminds me a bit of old school het romance kdrama tropes I used to see in dramas such as the heirs and boys over flowers when I was a kid. I can see why SS fans seem to like this trope, the nice ordinary girl who gets the school heartthrob guy, and then they get married and have kids on a picket fence etc etc. Thia trope is quite popular among this specific animanga/kdrama audience and they represent the hetero romance teenage dream that girls want to live through and all.
Me personally, something about this romance depiction, from those specific het romance kdrama-type of media, always gave me the ick and I have my reasons for that. And my thing is, I mostly tend to gravitate and resonate a lot towards western media (mostly films and television) instead of eastern ones (despite me being seasian myself and East Asian media being more influential than western ones here in my country. I personally think it's because both share similar trad conservative values but that's a discussion for another day). Be it american or european, both the popular mainstream ones as well as the cult classics, the counterculture new wave, the indie arthouse ones, etc I loved it some here and there. And I feel like the depiction of romance in those type of media I watched are very influenced by post modernism, so they're mostly concerned in trying to redefine what love, sex, identity, and relationships meant, with many leanings towards irony and even nihilism at times. They're not defined by a single genre or structure in writing. In short, they are layered and have complexity.
And sometimes I feel like that's what missing from romance-based medias from East Asia such as kdramas/mangas/manhwas? And by extension to shoujos too. Like it's all so formulaic and empty and seems like it's all just a bunch of "tropes" and fanservice to give the audience what they crave, not writing anything profound or radical.
Which brings me to my point. Naruto, at first glance, seems to be like the usual shounen manga, but then Kishimoto also incorporated epic romance aspects such as the double suicide, becoming soul bonded, etc. Your post on how Kishimoto drew inspiration from ancient Japanese literature of homosexuality in the Edo Tensei period is also on point and adds more depth towards the writing of that ship. Like, ofc the girls and the gays would flock towards something as interesting as this rather that read about the same story of how girl pines for boy for years and then they get married or something.
And I'm not saying that all shoujos are like this cause I know rgu is like, very much one of the most critically acclaimed anime, deals with complex topics, and has lesbians in it but rgu is more like an exception to the rule and not the rule itself so it's not a good counter argument to the shoujo being shallow allegations. The only reason I haven't started rgu yet despite the good things I've heard about it is because the way shoujo stans behave pissess me off so much it makes me not want to read any of it just out of spite, same with that green yuri manga.
Hi!
This a quite long ask, so let's see.
What are your thoughts on shojou/shojousei mangas? Especially about the writing of the "typical shoujo style romance" that animanga fans like to talk about?
I don't consume as much shoujo. But The shojo animes that I've watched I really enjoyed, in fact, classic shojo Bokura Ga Ita was one of my first anime series ever and I love it so much, I think I watched it back in 2009 phew quite a long time, I still listen to the soundtrack as well, I love it.
Idk what's the typical shoujo style romance because as I said I don't watch/read that much shoujo to know the genre (more like marketing category) in depth.
In animanga twt sometimes i see shojou/shoujosei fans act like the most victimized group of people and are bitter because those genres are not as popular as shounen.
I wouldn't know because I barely interact with shonen communities, so idk about shojo communities, but I'd be thankful to not have the popularity of shonen because I feel that the more popular the stupider the crowd you attract. Like, the discourse on shonen series is unbereable, I wouldn't want that for another community.
However, I've seen Yuri fans have a strong beef with fujoshis, I've seen them say we should read/watch yuri or else we're misogynists like okay let's calm down. They're also salty that yuri is nowhere near as popular as yaoi and they cite misogyny as a factor like you say, but idk I feel that rather than being aggressive towards yaoi fans they should push more the yuri series they like, make edits, more fanart and stuff like that like fujoshis to gain traction in spaces that are not familiar with Yuri. Obviously fujoshi have decades of advantages over fundashis but I don't think that means they should just whine on the internet because of that.
Most shounen, both the old and new, are action/adventure-centric so it explains the gap in popularity between shounen and shoujo as the action/adventure genre usually has more mainstream people more invested in it.
It's true that shonen has historically received more support from the industry than other genres but also it's somewhat more diverse in the settings they explore than shojo which I feel stays limited to high-school and sometimes historical fiction (usually Europe). To me it seems what these people want is a combination of battle shonen and shoujo, an interesting story where there's fights, and fantasy-based universe with super powers and stuff that is female lead with romance as an important factor of the story.
It upsets fans of shojo the lackluster writing of women so they crave better female characters that are given more protagonism in the story. They would prefer if there was a shonen out there that was centered around a female lead instead of a boy to spice things up. They want romance but don't want the female character reduced to being the cheerleader of the male character or be basically the only one that shows romantic interest in the relationship because the male character is too busy with other stuff.
its not rarely I see them bashing shounen for being mid, slop, and most prominently, they hate fujoshis in the shounen fandom for "being into gaybait", while glorifying the writing in shoujo as magnum opus pinnacle of romance or something.
This is what I was talking about! always on our ass talking about queerbaiting and how we don't invest the ships they like or whatever like leave us alone and go enjoy your own stuff!!! attacking us is not gonna make us want to engage with the stuff you claim is so good, on the contrary is gonna keep us away from it cause you're annoying!
What's funny about is that shojo fans don't like yuri that much either, it's always about f/m ships for them and they think they're better than fujoshis but the reality is they're as obsessed with men but even more conservative because they only like it when it's a man and a woman like god intended lmao
I don't keep up with SS shippers from twitter unless something pops up unwarranted on my tl but lmao they're so delusional, they jump from community to community, fandom to fandom looking for acceptance and support. They're *DESPERATE* that someone will validate they mid shit they like lmao
This is what me and @kittensasuke were making fun of the other day [LINK] on how repetitive, boring and basic the romance heterosexual people, including heterosexual women who think they're activists dismantling patriarchy for reading heterosexual romance, is.
I can see why SS fans seem to like this trope, the nice ordinary girl who gets the school heartthrob guy, and then they get married and have kids on a picket fence etc etc.
Ah yes, the nice ordinary girl that is at the same time a drop dead gorgeous genius that saves the day by girlbossing her way through it lol.
And sometimes I feel like that's what missing from romance-based medias from East Asia such as kdramas/mangas/manhwas? And by extension to shoujos too.
To be fair the bl is for the most part also incredibly basic and repetitive, like the bl manhwas the girls are constantly gagging over (jinx, painter of the night, pearl boy, etc) are shit from the butt. But it's what sells, so why change what's working well.
Your post on how Kishimoto drew inspiration from ancient Japanese literature of homosexuality in the Edo Tensei period is also on point and adds more depth towards the writing of that ship.
I think this is a typo but it's just Edo period, Edo Tensei is the jutsu. But yeah, Kishimoto's writing is much more deeper than people give him credit for (even sns shippers don't always appreciate it)

My biggest issue with gwyn isn’t even her character. It’s the fact that some gwyn stans (obv not all - some are really nice) are so misogynistic.
They make up so many headcanons about gwyn and how great she is - which would be fine if they didn’t have to degrade other female characters to do it. Apparently gwyn is going to be Nyx’s mommy because Feyre’s not a good parent. Gwyn is going to yell at Feyre for not properly taking care of her son and snatch her baby out of her hands and snap her fingers in her face while Feyre is crying - and everyone (including Rhys) will admire gwyn for knowing how to calm a screaming baby and Azriel will be so in love because gwyn is just so nurturing. And of course Rhys will be besties with Gwyn and will confide in her over his wife/mother of his child…
And apparently gwyn is going to yell at elain and feyre for being bad sisters - and Azriel will admire gwyn for that. Oh, and she’s also going to be mean to Mor for no reason at all….
Usually I wouldn’t even comment on it. Let people make up headcanons and write the fics they want to write. But it’s telling to me that people seem to pit gwyn against every single female character. Feyre’s a mother? She’s a bad mother - gwyn is nurturing and loving and will step into the role as mommy. Elain is pretty and feminine? Gwyn is much more beautiful and girly - but also knows how to fight so that makes her more interesting. Mor is a fighter? Gwyn is a better fighter.
You can like gwyn without tearing down other women.
Hi, anon!
I am totally in the same boat as you. I try to be as vocal about this as possible because misogyny in this fandom has been ignored and normalized. I have no issue with Gwyn as a character. I love Nesta, and I appreciate how Gwyn adds to Nesta's story and gives her a friendship that she never got to have before. In the actual canon, she's a good friend and an ambitious woman. I personally think Emerie is more interesting and has more potential, but both characters are generally likable and serve their purpose well.
I want to expand on what you said because I've also seen that before and it really is disgusting. I have no issue with anybody loving a side character. I myself am a total sucker for Tarquin, you do need to expand on these more one/two-dimensional characters a little bit by using headcanons. However they do not stay true to Gwyn in the slightest, instead they turn her into a mean girl who bosses everybody around, and lets face it: they make her into a Mary Sue and give her a savior and superiority complex.
The reason I think they do this is because of G*ynriel shippers. As we know, it is a self insert ship. So these people want to imagine themselves with Azriel. That means they will put their own personalities in place of hers. We have her lore and a bit of her as a character, but not a lot, so she is enough of a blank canvas for them to put their gross misogynistic and bully fantasies into their headcanons when in reality Gwyn would never treat another woman this way. That is why people write her attacking Mor and Elain specifically, it's jealousy which is so weird to me.
Their misogynistic fantasies don't even make sense. Why would Gwyn yell at Feyre, Mor or Elain? (I have seen people giggling about Gwyn physically hurting Elain too.) What reason would she have? And why would she be involved in the Archeron's sisters business? Just because she's Nesta's friend that doesn't give her the right to treat her sisters like the ground she walks on. Also making Feyre cry in front of Rhys is a death sentence. He is not gonna praise anybody for treating his mate like shit. Look at him with Nesta, he can't stand her because of her relationship with Feyre. Anybody who hurts Feyre is an enemy of his. You can really tell some people did not read the books because they don't even know how to write a proper Feysand.
This poor character, who quite literally did nothing wrong is used a misogynistic weapon (BY HER OWN FANS) in the fandom. And that is very sad to me. I personally think that she would love Elain, Feyre and Mor. So yes, I agree. They are allowed to like Gwyn, they're allowed to make headcanons and make her as strong as they want. They can do whatever they want, but they need to leave their misogynistic fantasies away from her and any ACOTAR character. Just take it out of the fandom.
Sorry if there's any typos, I have a really annoying muscle twitch rn.

- Dear lord what an opening, I thought Mari was done already 😭 but yes girlies, have a bit of fun please. And Damn, the girls are thriving.
- Shauna is so bitter bc the girls moved on and are copying better than her. Girl just because guilt consumed you, doesn't mean it has to consume the others. Sure, they did Jackie wrong but you were the one that kicked her out so ...
Anyway let's talk about her cuz the Shauna and Jackie was REAL, they did had feelings for each other. And damn is so more tragic now that this is practically confirmed and canon. Part of Shauna guilty towards Jackie related stuff is because it is an unclosed and unfinished business/trauma, that it will keep that way bc Jackie is gone. Once Shauna realized her true feelings for Jackie, it was already too late. And this (plus the fact that she killed and ate her) haunts her forever. Seriously, there's so many layers of affection, envy, jealousy, friendship, love, trauma, guilt...in their relationship that's one of the most complex, intriguing and fascinating parts of the show, at least for me.
And the fact that Melissa is "just like Jackie"(white, blonde, light and soft eyes...) makes me think that Shauna will eventually hallucinate and start to see Jackie in her. Which means that Ella Purnell may make an appearance later in the season, which would be so cool
Just a side note, I imagine the actress that plays Melissa (who barely had any lines), reading the script for s3 and realizing she will be big in this one. I would be so happy.
- Mari is such a hater lmao. Actually, her "hater urges" is bigger than her survival instincts and I respect her for that bc why in hell from everyone she could have beef with it, she chose Shauna 😭?
And if I was her I would be so relieved that coach is gay, bc if he was straight I would rather stay in that hole than go anywhere with him with my hands tied up.
I like coach Ben, he always tried to help the girls, tried to be the voice of reason among the caos so I don't get all the hate he receives from the fandom
What the hell are those things he found? I hope we finally get some answers about that fuckin wilderness and the ghost(?) Tai keeps seeing it. Tbh I would like it better if it's all from their head like, smt they created to help them to cope with everything that happened out there. And maybe that forest was some training camp before. That would explain the old supplies, the cabin, the plane.
- I so hope Van doesn't die this season. Taivan are so perfect, both the young and older versions. The dinner scene was so cute. And I think that if there's something supernatural going on, the wilderness took the offer, a life for a life. I thought it was Nat life for Van's but now I think it was the waiter.
I wanna know why dafuq they split up before, they are so perfect for each other. I'm sorry Tai's wife but that's the truth.
- I have the feeling that we really may have a part 2 of the doomcoming party. They wouldn't give that dialogue of those mean girls talking shit specifically about orgy without something like that happening for real. Idk, they should be talking about the cannibalism instead of that.
-Poor Misty tho. I have a love/hate relationship with her especially bc she was the one that destroyed the box back in s1, something that could have saved all them and prevent all the shit that happened. But she really loved Nat and she really is the friend that's always left out (something I can relate to)
And even tho I don't fully trust Walter, and he may be trying to isolate Misty from her friends, he isn't wrong. They all call Misty only when they need it.
- Callie being bestie with Lottie was not on my bingo card but I like it.

SJM regressed the growth of both Nessian and Elucien from ACOWAR to ACOFAS.
Naturally, after Nessian's book I'd expect Elucien? I will admit, the HOFAS stuff seem to shine a light on Az, but I don't see why he HAS to be next.
I love Gwynriel, I love Gwyn and I love Az when he's interacting with Gwyn
But Az getting his HEA before Lucien and Elain would make me so mad. No because if he had a mate, and if another male went after her.. he'd end the guy. For someone who values his 'religion' (eye roll, the cauldron, mother whatever) he seems to disrespect it by going after another male's mate. Would he have done it to his brothers? Why is no one talking about this? And he's not even after Elain for a romantic reason!
No slander to Elain though, girlie is new to all this. I understand her even if she frustrates me at times (like tryna kiss Az when Lucien was there, I totally get her wanting a fling, but I wish she'd literally picked any other day plz my heart hurts for Lulu)
And honestly, I see why announcing Azriel's book would make E*riels seethe.. but, I would feel more vindicated if Sarah announces an Elain book with Lucien. Given how much they keep crapping on Lucien, it would stun them.
Something you said above stood out to me and is a bit different than the way I usually approach Elucien being next. I do think she deserves her time to shine after so many books of being pushed to the side by the other characters, same with Lucien. But I also think it's time for readers to understand why she is treating Lucien this way, what she was thinking on Solstice when her mate was nearby. That is such a topic of debate in the fandom. The other side claims it's proof Elain doesn't care for Lucien, some Gwynriels and Elucien's are a little put off by her seeming lack of concern, and some don't hold it against her but they want to understand why she did what she did. I think it would be odd for the author to let yet another Solstice pass by with zero insight as to why it happened that way (especially if at that point an Elucien endgame is all but confirmed if Gwynriel were to end up together). That's another book where readers are left puzzled by her actions with no explanation. Another book where readers are still frustrated by those actions with no explanation. At some point the author has to begin providing reasons for why a character is behaving the way they are and I think we're there with Elain. Why is she often absent from important IC meetings? Why are people noting different expressions on her face, watching her do things and deciding what those things mean but then being given information that contradicts their initial impression? Why was she warm then cold towards Lucien? Why did Feyre think maybe she wanted her hands cut up which is why she didn't use the gloves Lucien gave her but the following year we have confirmation that Elain is wearing gloves (just not Lucien's)? Why did Nesta think she was so happy and settled only for Elain to confirm she still has trauma? I personally love Elain but I can't pretend she's a fan favorite and I think the main reason for that is Sarah has her character remaining a bit of a mystery, giving us varying opinions through the other characters which confuses many. I think she has a lot of depth and there are very valid reasons for the way she's behaving but since we don't have confirmation of anything, to others it is at times going to look as if she's being unkind or thoughtless. Again, I think an author can only write this kind of narrative for a character for so long before the character ends up being written off by the fandom and I do feel this is a perfect time for Sarah to finally reveal Elain to all of us before the hate of her becomes worse.
