i have this headcanon that Annabeth is a distant relative of Astrid Hofferson. like think about it; the Chase family has connections with Nordic culture (i.e. Magnus being the son of Frey, Randolf being a Viking enthusiast, etc), so it’s perfectly believable that they might also have Viking ancestors somewhere down the line. and while rewatching HTTYD recently, i noticed so many similarities between Astrid and Annabeth, and not just their appearances. their personalities are super alike: they both play the role of strategist, they’re fierce in battle, they’re both the main character’s right hand—even their type is similar (Hiccup and Percy). idk it makes sense in my head and i love it sm

fallout (2024) and barbie (2023) both show their female protagonist experiencing changes to life as they know it (vault 33 being attacked by raiders, everyday things in barbieland going wrong) they must then both travel to the "outside world" to restore the order of things (lucy going to the surface, barbie going to the real world) they also (eventually) both lose a feature of their's (lucy losing her finger, barbie's feet going flat) once they arrive, they are abruptly met with the fact that what they believed is actually a total lie (lucy finding out that vault-tec are the bad guys, barbie being told by sasha that barbie ISN'T a feminist but a fascist) but when they manage to "succeed" things seem to not be right (lucy finding her dad with moldaver and learning of his actions, barbie returning to barbieland with gloria to discover 'kendom') and at the very end of it all, they end up changing what their "normal" is (lucy following the ghoul to new vegas, barbie becoming barbara in the real world)
