OUUGHHHH ok thinks. Hm. i suppose i will dump a few facts abt tos glisten and come up with some stuff on the spot too maybe lol

He does his own makeup every morning, as well as looeys :3 he practiced really hard and now its like part of their routine for him to sit down and do both their makeup for like an hour cause hes got to get it perfect hehe. Looey finds it very fun and he likes the makeup glisten does :] they werent actually designed to be wearing makeup, this was something that glisten found he enjoyed doing, and arthur found it enhanced their designs n gave them a bit more color so he encouraged it !! (it was also really cool as an artist to see his creations being creative and artistic so he wanted to encourage it)

looey is clumsy, thats an easy assumption. however most people wouldnt guess that glisten is even MORE clumsy. he tries so hard not to be because its utterly humiliating to trip on his bow constantly and fall flat on his face but try as he may he cant just stop being accident-prone </3 Cannot tell you how many times this guy has covered himself head to toe in paint and just stood there like a sopping wet cat trying not to embarrass himself any further by bursting into tears. its very hard to just brush it off and insist that everything you do is perfect when you look like youre cosplaying a smurf. looey is very understanding and tries very very hard to help him out, either helping him avoid accidents or comforting him when hes made a fool out of himself again.

fun fact!!! the toons all have their own sets of custom-made pajamas :3 I do plan on making designs for all of them someday too... glisten wears super elaborate and decorated frilly white pajamas but he has sensory issues and some (most) nights the texture and feeling of the clothes makes him want to gouge his own eyes out so he sacrifies his looks for coziness. looey doesnt care about how his clothes feel so he just switches with glisten and they look very silly GHAHAHA he would not be caught dead like that though

looey gets a lot of nightmares, and when they were younger he would go sleep in glistens room. It became a habit so they just have a sleepover in glistens room every night basically lol

hes scared of yatta. While yatta, looey and blot arent a trio together in their jobs theyre still a very close friend group so yatta often visits their floor to hang out with looey or looey will go visit yatta :P glisten finds her unsettling and startling though. but he also really likes her cooking. so he'll ask looey to request his favorite soup from yatta.... and then immediately slip on a crayon while walking out of the kitchen and spill it all over himself LOSER!!!!!!

he has a whole wall in his room of art kids have drawn of him, like he will take EVERYTHING. it makes him very happy. even the ones that are just incomprehensible scribbles from a 5 year old it makes him feel loved and admired and appreciated he will take any scrap of paper with his face on it that he can get

he gets a case of the giggles whenever hes embarrassed which makes him MORE embarrassed which makes him giggle more and it becomes a never-ending cycle of Glisten Torture and then he has to hide behind the fridge for the next 3 months because hes made a fool out of himself. joking usually hes able to stop himself but hes very self-conscious about it

his favorite color is actually pink but purple is good enough because he must be on theme

gets impatient with the kids he deals with sometimes, but he knows not to take it out on them. sometimes it gets annoying when a kid cant draw a straight line for the life of them. and sometimes it gets annoying when some 6 year old decides to grab one of your ribbons with their grubby little hands coated in orange paint and then you trip and fall on your face AND your bow is dirty. okay that one may warrant a nasty look but nothing more. he'll say things through gritted teeth sometimes but he'll always be nice to the kids

From what I've seen Monty's mum is still basiclaky the sme, I'm referring to like, Pluto. We've only seen his father so in your au will it be his mother or father that's the Cheshire cat?

eulalies dad, while only mentioned once(?) in nevermore, is going to be such a fun character! he loves his daughter sm and is willing to support all of her ideas (based on how he BOUGHT A WHOLE ASS HOUSE FOR HER TO "TUTOR KIDS"...like that is dedication and I respect it). it'll be a nice change in pace to have a 100% unconditionally loving parents cause guys most of the characters were not as lucky 😭

wills parents arent too relevant on their own, but I have thought about them a bit since it fleshes out some of wills insecurities about himself. they're loving parents, but they often cast him aside without even realizing in favor of his younger sisters for.......plot reasons I'm not sharing LOL

I should proly think more abt annabels parents buuuut I haven't yet. whoops. all i really have for them is that, similarly to wills, they're a massive contributor in her insecurities and fear of going against destiny

LENORES PARENTS WILL BE FUN! all I wanna say about them is that there's a reason the evil queen is a queen. theyre really important for the story i wanna write so you only get that little crumb haha ;>

The house had all the pictures of Eve from the moment when they met as kids to the day she died. Knowing that everything was destroyed in the house made it feel like he lost her all over again. Adam broke down sobbing as they drove to the home. They got out and saw that firefighters were putting out everything. Even the garden was gone. He could feel the eyes on him, he felt that they were judging him for being a hoarder.

Adam: They’re judging me.

Lucifer: I won’t let them.

Lucifer talked to one of the firefighters and it seemed the only thing that was spared was a framed picture of Adam and Eve’s wedding. Lucifer took it over to Adam who held it close to him. He didn’t want to worry Adam, but he had a feeling that this fire was started by someone and not on accident. He had a good feeling that he knew who started it. He was going to make sure Lilith suffered for this. He got Adam back home after everything was dealt with he held Adam as he cried while holding the wedding photo.

Adam: I do want her to hurt you too.

Lucifer: I am not going to get hurt and as I told you, I am not giving you up.

Adam looked so scared, but Lucifer swore to protect him. Abel came in the morning to check on Adam, Lucifer had never seen Abel so angry in his life and with the condition Adam was in he couldn’t blame him.

Abel: Dad, I am glad that you aren’t hurt.

Adam: Thank you, but I lost many important things connected to your mom that I will never get back.

Saying this made Adam cry more especially with his garden destroyed. Lucifer was ready to turn everyone against Lilith after seeing Adam like this.

Hoarder Au

⚠️ Mentions of abuse, depression and other mental illness ⚠️

Abel stood outside of his dad's large home, he had a feeling of what he was going to be seeing in there even though it's been a while since he's been to his family home.

His dad Adam had been majorly depressed since the death of Abel's mother Eve, they were high school sweethearts and had Abel when they were fresh out of high school. They were married for years and then when Abel was 12 his mother died.

It broke Adams heart losing Eve like that and so young. He stayed single for a couple years until Abel was 17 and he met Lilith.

At first things were fine, but it turns out Lilith was the devil in disguise.

She would physically and verbally abuse Adam after they were together a year. And his father, being lonely and desperate for any shred of love from her put up with it for years.

Until she crossed the line and smacked Abel. Adam lost his mind and she turned it around on him and told him she never loved him and never would and that no one would.

That was seven months ago. Now Abel was here to see how his dad was doing. He knew that when his dad was feeling depressed he either ate his feelings or shopped a lot.

Abel sighed and knocked on the door.

Abel: Dad!? You home?

Adam: Coming!

It took a while for him to answer the door and when he did Adam smiled when he saw his baby boy.

Adam: Abby! It's good to see you sweetie.

He hugged him and Abel looked in behind him. From what he could tell just from the front door being open, there was stuff from floor to ceiling. And they were ten foot ceilings.

Abel: Good to see you too dad..... Can I come in?

Adam: ...... Maybe it would be better if we had our visit outside okay? You can tell me all about how your college days are going.

They stepped outside and Abel could see Adam was still very sad. A sad smile crossed Adam’s lips.

Adam: I got you a present.

Adam handed Abel a small gift wrapped present. He opened it and saw a very nice bracelet and some candies that he picked with care because he knew Abel would like they.

Abel: Thank you dad.

Adam: Of course.

Abel went over and hugged him. He knew that this wasn’t going to end well, but he had to talk to him.

Abel: Dad I was thinking of helping you clean up the house.

Adan: Why? I can get around the house fine and you can too.

Abel: You shouldn’t have to live like this.

Adam: But everything I have is important.

Abel knew not to say anything when he saw Adam start to tremble.

Abel: It’s ok dad, we don’t have to talk about it now.

Abel got up to hug Adam and Adam misread the situation started to cry. He knew Abel would never strike him, but he couldn’t help being afraid. Abel pulled Adam into his arms as his dad cried. Abel promised that he would do everything in his power to help his dad.

Adam: I am so sorry Abel.

Abel: It’s not your fault.

Later that day Abel got Adam to stay at his apartment that night. Adam was curled up by Abel on the couch while Abel looked through his phone and saw a name of a psychologist named Lucifer Morgenstern who specialized in hoarding.

2024 art summary! it sure has been a year

i just really hope itll be acceptable (with discussion of course) how i adapt clothing, i tend to splice pieces together like a bodices/stays/corsets of a dress into a jacket, or slice the front of a dress and turn it into a jacket or cape so i can wear trousers underneath and have them visible. i tend to do that in more formal designs, but i do have a poet shirt i turned into a halter top, and another similar style top into a sleeveless shirt. i wouldnt wear either, or at least not the first one, for SCA involvement but the second aside from being a bit more fitted could pass as long as i wear something to cover my upper arms. i really dont like just wearing loose fitting clothes and saying that its gender neutral enough because thats just not my personal style, so im eager to see what advice theyll have for me!!

and oh my godddd hhhh japanese textiles have my on my KNEES, theyre so beautifullllll, but im very white so i dont know if id feel okay going that direction 😅 at least i do know that the oldest kilt found was from roughly the year 1200, so maybe i could get away with a fitted vest over a masculine fitting kilt to satisfy my vanity???

my intention at least is to use as many historical methods to craft garments as i can, even if once put together it isnt a standard historical outfit, like even going scottish, women wore long skirts rather than knee length kilts, but i could wear the masculine basics and put otherwise feminine stays over top? that seems appropriate to me without going the way i have with some of my more historical fantasy designs?

im really excited to design a small wardrobe for it but i dont want it to not feel like me, you know? but if i don't need to stick to the same culture year round that helps too. i dont think ill be able to use this as an excuse to get out ALL my designs, some are a little too fantasy, but this really helps!! i hadnt considered wrap clothing like that, layering is hard on my body for both temp and sheer effort, maybe my local people can tell me more about different dressing and sewing methods across cultures!!

Hi!! unlike a lot of the asks youve gotten lately, i dont have any advice or answers for anyone, but i do have a few questions for you!

im not worried about titles or how id be treated in the SCA as a trans person given the demographics of my area, but i AM kind of worried about things like clothing. i know there are some somewhat neutral options but having to be historically accurate kinda kills my usual method of blending historical clothing into androgyny, do you think theres any leway for things like that or would it be up to my local group entirely what theyd allow?

i was also wondering if the SCA is always so focused on such a specific geographic history (everything ive seen is either very english or somewhat scandinavian), or again is it up to the individual as long as its time period accurate? i think my local group would be the canton of seashire/barony of ruantallan so im sure theres at least a few people whod want to deviate, i just want to join a group like the SCA but i dont have much love for the english....

i also have a disability that makes it hard to travel and do stuff like pitch tents, i sometimes have to skip events. is that something id be able to compensate the group for in other ways if i need a little extra understanding sometimes? i dont feel right asking for help and not paying it back when its my own fault.

I have great news for you. :) The only requirement for garb in the SCA is that you make SOME attempt at pre-16th century clothing. That's it. That's the rule. Some people interpret this for themselves as being as strictly as historically accurate as they can, while others interpret it as doing what they can with the resources they have. It all depends on how you want to play your game. The other good news it that, just like today, people then played with fashion to fit their specific needs. So if you want to adjust your garb to something that is more comfortable for you, then by all means - do it!

When it comes to fashion among the populace, there are definitely trends that happen. But, like I mentioned before, there's also necessity in fashion. There was a little ice age happening from approximately 1300-1800, and so fashions tended to be layered and well... warm. That doesn't really work in some of our modern climates. In warmer Kingdom's you'll see a lot of Roman or Anglo-Saxon happening in the summer. In the winter, Viking tends to take over. You also find that fashions that are easier to make and wear are usually preferred over ones that are more complicated, expensive, or just unsuitable for the event.

In my Kingdom, there was a trend for a little while for each of the reigns to be themed. We've had a Persian reign, a Landsknecht reign, a Viking reign - and then the populace made garb to coincide with the theme of the reign, which did add some diversity to looks. Right now, I've noticed that Landsknecht is definitely on the rise in our particular area after Viking had a bit of a strangle hold for a while. It still does, really, because it's such an easy fashion to make, and can be comfortable in all climates depending on the material you use (linen for summer, wool for winter).

Everyone has their skills and talents, as well as their limitations. You can absolutely find something to contribute to your group based on your own capabilities. Coordinating the hospitality, offering to watch little ones, heck - even being in charge of making the field space reservations would be ways that you can contribute to the group event experience. If you are a crafter, an artist, a performer, or even filling an officer position or assisting an office with their duties. And if you're none of those things, that's fine, too. Events are more fun just having people there to share the experience with. No one will begrudge you for not doing something you are incapable of doing. If they do, then forget them - I'm your SCA Mom now, and you can come play with me.

- i've talked about this but the whole "zelda never had good parental figures until totk" urbosa is right there asshole. so much for found family. obviously urbosa being nothing but zelda's mom figure in the text itself is bad, but just. erasing her adds insult to injury

- "here's my GOOD gerudo oc. they HATE ganondorf" riveting. the good guy doesn't like the bad guy. who woulda thunk.

- tbh it's worse when they make hating ganondorf the gerudo's entire collective personality. why would every gerudo have an opinion about a long dead evil ruler or have to constantly explain that they're not like other girls cause they hate the evil arab man. that's not normal.

-not knowing how to draw gerudo noses. drawing them too long or too short. refusing to learn.

this is something i've done. don't look at my old ganondorf art.

-consistently drawing ganondorf as green for no reason. insisting that he is green in games that aren't totk. he is not. he has an olive tone but he is not green (I have also done this)

-making "good ganondorf" harmless and stupid/"himbo" ganondorf. reverse stereotypes are still one-dimensional guys :) I did something similar to this once upon a time....do not speak to me about older ALT Ganon....

-enforcing the "gerudo girls age faster" bit in creating a champion in headcanons

- someone makes two gerudo ocs. one is extremely pale skinned and the other is darker in tone. paler skinned gerudo is depicted as graceful and refined, the other is depicted as brash and picks fights with the protagonist of the fic. suspicious

next few things are gonna be nasty so putting under a cut. abandon hope all ye who enter here (abuse/sexual assault mentions)

-it's just weird how evil ganondorf is often depicted in fanon as monstrous, abusive, and sexually predatory and then good ganondorf is like. there to support another couple or some shit...passive sweet and sexless...like some sorta gay best friend... I don't dig it, there has to be some kind of middle ground here. something other than himbo and complete monster

-tbh portraying ganondorf as abusive is a major turnoff for me. ganon does a lot of bad stuff, and he hurts a lot of people, but physically or sexually abusive he is not. he would not care enough to abuse someone.

- on that note. "my (gerudo) oc is based on wind waker ganondorf because he is a child abuser" 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

-that being said I have seen au versions of ganondorf where his whole schtick is just raping people. like that was all he did. rape and kill people

People in the actual omegaverse would get as bored of their stuff, as we do of ours, you know? It could be interesting to see that kind of vibe in fics. Biological demands faced with all the excitement of paying bills or doing laundry or tying your shoes.

Even if that kind of energy might not drive a plot, it could be interesting to have as a contrast to the people who do have big feelings about them - good or bad.

There's the friends who can't wait til they have a pack of their own, and the one friend who isn't against it but couldn't care less. There's the group in the office who are all about scent compatibility tests and figuring out one's best match and what sprays most highlight it, and the coworker who has no intentions on putting that much effort in. There are parents who hover and protect their offspring by scenting them multiple times a day, and others who don't see what the fuss is as long as it's done in the morning.

...also: packs with introverts who show care by giving each other space. So often, closeness is depicted through physical touch and tactile affection, but comfortable silence is meaningful too. Knowing people are near, but not having to interact until you're ready. Sitting in the same room doing different things, knowing that all it takes is a "hey, look at this" to share what you're up to. People understanding and accepting each other's differing or fluctuating needs for how and when to recharge. Seeing somebody reaching out or sharing space, beyond what's their norm, as a signal of the fact that they care.

I don’t fault fall out boy (or their managers) for this but I can’t help but emphasize how stupid it is to book an outdoor show in texas for the end of june!! people outside of texas truly don’t understand how fucking hot it gets this time of year — and unless you experience it for yourself, you won’t get it.

temperatures right now are above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and "feel" much hotter than that due to humidity and UV index.

if you are going to the woodland or dallas show this week, please, please be careful!!!

as a lifelong texan who has endured this hellish heat for my whole life, here are some very important tips for surviving the summer weather (& not passing out):

be sure to hydrate days before the event (starting tonight!) drink mostly water, & if you have them, add those little hydration iv packets as well!

I would highly, highly recommend that you don’t drink alcohol at the event. alcohol is a diuretic and will dehydrate you!!! I would really recommend only drinking water (no diet coke, soda, or other beverages with caffeine, this is a diuretic too!)

check if your venue allows you to bring food & drink (I have heard the dos equis pavilion is allowing snacks! & outside water) & if they do — BRING THEM

eat before the show!! a full meal, not just nibbles of food. eat something rich in all major food groups: carbs, proteins and fats! (most people I have encountered pass out from a mixture of not eating & dehydration)

be conscious of your clothing — wear light colored, breathable fabric like cotton or linen (it’s going to be too fucking hot to make a fashion statement. TRUST ME!)

get to the venue later than you normally would. people in GA, I really really would advise against spending all afternoon in the sun, camping out. if you want to wait in the parking lot, do so in the comfort of your air conditioned car!! (i promise you, getting barricade at a fall out boy show is not worth passing out)

wear a hat!! & bring sunnies (sunglasses) if you are going to be outside before the sun sets

this part of texas DOES NOT cool down at night, so be prepared!!

dicks sporting goods & five below sell those cooling towels for under five bucks, please get one!!

most importantly, listen to your body!!! if you are feeling woozy, ill, lightheaded, nauseous or otherwise NOT RIGHT -- sit down, get help from staff, and get out of the heat!!!!
