The template with the "chimpanzees" word wasn't siwolism, she even made a post explaining where she took it from and that it wasn't supposed to mean black people (nor jewish, ofc), and that wasn't even the part of the image she cared about! I'm sorry but blaming someone for a template where the chimpanzee word was just refering to the chimpanzee it's just stupid atp, like... This cannot be your only proof to point that someone's anti black, especially not on someone that made clear with a lot more of proof that she wasn't
regardless if she wanted to directly call black people monkeys or not do you not see how it is still racist to invoke anti black slurs regardless if she ā€˜meant toā€™ (did you also forget the illiterates, hitler, amerikkkans and Kamala Harris part. Did you forget about the lynching part). Would I not be called extremely antisemitic if I used the k slur or called them nazis or adolf hitler in reference to Jewish Americans claiming that it wasnā€™t intentional and I was just trying to criticize zionists. How in 2025 are you people still making excuses for non black non Americans that they magically donā€™t know anything about racism or how it works when almost every modern language has a version of an anti black slur.

omg now that you've mentioned it, please tell us everything about rusts watch šŸ™šŸ™
I got two separate asks about this. you're all such nerds and I love you. <3 <3
I'll answer this one here and answer the other one for the night crowd.
but fundamentally, this one is a lot easier to answer! there is an official answer from an interview with the prop master, because the freakiest freaks from the tangential every day carry communities are the watch guys. the watch guys are VERY serious about identifying watches.
pulling some quotes from the link and then I will translate for the non watch people in the audience.
If you are a fan of the first season ofĀ True Detective, you might be aware of the immense interest in McConaughey's watch on the show. I recall getting pretty deep into the watch forums myself on this topic at the time the show was on (circa 2014). Some people thought it was a vintage Seiko diver, but the crown was at three 'o clock ā€“ so that was out. Others swore it was a Citizen, others still were adamant it was a Rolex. The only certainty was the strap ā€“ a black rubber diving strap with a wind velocity indication chart. Needless to say, this was one of the burning questions I had lined up for Lynda.
The Rolex idea isn't as out of character as it probably sounds, because there was an era of Rolex where certain models--mostly the ones originally built for diving--were considered solid working man watches. But it is still, imo, out of character for a guy like Rust in the 90s. The working man era of Rolex is like, 1970s. Watch guys are just obsessed with Rolex.
Seiko and Citizen are are very well known brands but neither have the insane luxury item status or price of Rolex, and tbh, I also assumed he was wearing a vintage Seiko with a Citizen strap. I mean, I watched the show like two months ago so my "also thought" was short lived, but nonetheless. It seemed reasonable. Dive watches in general are over engineered to be tougher than normal watches, so my immediate thought was that, of course, Rust isn't a dress watch guy. Diver + rubber strap means you can shower with that thing on and not have to ever think about the on/off.
but no, Citizen? Seiko? Our man isn't that mainstream. Per the propmaster:
"Actually, the watch he wears is a Lorus Tidal, and it was from my personal kit. I picked that watch because it had a look of something he would have had for quite some time. I think part of the early backstory was that maybe he had a military background, but also maybe he had done other stuff in his past that we didn't know about. I felt the look of the watch was very simple ā€“ very classic, but very masculine. Even though it's not the most expensive watch in the world, it's also not the cheapest version of that style of watch. I mean, you can get a Timex from the same era that has almost the identical look to it with the bezel and everything else."
But of course, as mentioned, he's not JUST wearing some period appropriate utilitarian quartz run watch. He has...a fucking wind velocity conversion chart strap on there for some reason instead of the standard stainless steel bracelet. Rubber strap strikes me as reasonable: easier to adjust, more hard wearing than people think, tremendously practical all around. But the wind chart?! He's wearing a fucking wind chart?
WHY. this fascinates me. WHY DOES HE HAVE THAT. if it was a post 2012 watch only, you could argue: crab boat. maybe? maybe crab boat. although, like. unless he's fucking driving the thing, why does it matter? I think rubber strap vs metal strap makes sense, in the same way a quartz/battery run watch makes more sense than some fancy mechanical watch. Rust is a practical guy, at least in the sense of not being fussed about his gear. but a wind velocity conversion chart on his wrist at all times? whatdoesitmean.jpg.
but applying a similar kind of pragmatic reasoning, it might not mean anything at all and this motherfucker just picked the first watch and first rubber strap he found. may I also suggest: he just fucking steals shit occasionally. I have no in story justification for this. It's just a fun way to explain away a lack of curation on an otherwise very precise seeming character. Although I think that's part of the core appeal of Rust: ramshackle and exact at once, in different ways, or maybe just never as put together as he seems. See also: messy ass notebook and his handwriting fucking sucks.
And it is definitely part of Rust's appeal that he leans monastic and ascetic, so I like that none of his gear is too fancy. I like that he can't be fucked about it.
Here's a tidy little top comment on the same article, to emphasize how Watch Guys are about this kind of thing but also to nicely summarize:
I liked a lot, on True Detective season 1, how Rust never changes his watch, the watch works, does what he needs, and nothing more and he doesn't need anything else, while Martin keeps adding pieces to his collection as he moves up in the world, in line with both characters. What I disliked terribly, was that one scene where Rust silences a Casio alarm on his Lorus Tidal, ugh.
A casio alarm. How could they?
But spot on comment from that guy there. Ascetic, like I said: the watch does what Rust needs and nothing more. And yes, Marty's gear upgrades as the show goes on and that's a fun contrast, too.Ā
final note--it is almost impossible to find this exact model of Lorus Tidal (Lorus RXN53BX8) for a reasonable price now, because the watch guys bought them all in 2014. If you get into an ebay war about this in the next year or so, it's probably with me.
And here's the watch as standard + how Rust actually wears it so we can end this post gazing upon both 95 Rust and 2012 Rust.

Idk if I'm gonna make a review post, exactly, but the things that went on with Sonic's character in movie 3 have left me reeling, and dying to analyze. I don't have many screenshots to share, and the ones I do aren't good quality bc the movie's not released digitally yet, but here goes.
For one, the theme of dealing with grief was so well handled. I was hoping they were going to use the parallel of this Sonic losing someone close to him, just like Shadow had, and that's just what they did. What made it even more painful, however, was how Sonic was faced with the possibility of losing a second parental figure.
Shadow saw him hunched over Tom, pleading with him to wake up, and remembered himself doing the same when Maria had died. That was where Shadow saw a bit of himself in Sonic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shadow took mental notes of it, but he didn't back off, though he didn't make any other attempts to hurt Tom. Heck, he wouldn't have attacked in the first place if Tom hadn't been disguised as Walters.
And just... watching the way Sonic just started spiraling after this scene was so heartbreaking. The way he looked so lost and broken as they were taking him away in the ambulance, when Maddie didn't say anything to them, and the camera just zoomed out for a few seconds, showing him and his brothers looking so small and so lost in the world as they were left alone, unsure if their dad would be okay.
Sonic didn't want comfort. After the initial fear and grief, the anger he'd felt earlier when he turned on Shadow came back with a vengeance, quite literally. Looking at their calmer, almost normal everyday life earlier in the movie, it seems everything's fine. Sonic seemed fine and perky. I was taken aback at how calm he was about finding his old cave. He seemed fine, all things considered from earlier in his life. The Before Times, as fanfics have dubbed them.
But the moment his found family was threatened, the moment he was faced with the possibility of losing the home and love he'd finally gotten after so many years of pain and isolation, he fell apart. He became aggressively protective of it. Of course he would want to defend those he loves, but not like this. Not the Sonic we know.
The way Shadow phrased it later, "What kind of hero abandons his friends to seek revenge? Abandons his family?"
That struck a nerve, but Sonic just snapped back, "Don't you dare talk about my family."
The expressions he had after he'd taken the Master Emerald and gone after Shadow were so complex. You can see the mix of emotions on his face. Most clearly, the anger. But mixed in, you see the pain, the grief, the paralyzing fear of losing someone else, and you see how emotionally fragile he really is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shadow scoffs about how he'd thought that Sonic cared for them. "Especially the one, what's his name again? Tom?"
And that pushed him over the edge.
The way he just let out that chilling scream of rage and grief and went on to punch Shadow so hard he quite literally sent him flying straight into the moon. He was enraged. He was distressed. He was spiraling. And he was, for a few minutes, completely out of control.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know that this version of Sonic is not so reserved about killing people, like the game version. In the second movie, Sonic had every intention of killing Robotnik in the final battle, and he thought he succeeded. This marks the second time that if someone threatens Sonic's family, he's out for blood. In that vein, he's like his game counterpart; it's the safety of his loved ones, not himself, that he's concerned about. Passionate about.
Except.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He could not bring himself to do it.
I think part of him was remembering what Walters had said about Shadow having experienced loss, the way he had.
He'd won here. He could've just killed Shadow right then and there. Shadow was even goading him into just doing it. Demanded what he was waiting for. Pointing to his own chest and yelling that he was right there. To just do it. (Another thing to analyze; Shadow was just done with everything and didn't even care if he died at this point, but that's for another post.)
But something was stopping him.
Even in those screenshots, you can see the pain and anger mixed on his face. I could be mistaken, but it looks like there's a tear in his eye. (If I'm right, the idea of him crying during this fight makes me break apart in sadness.)
And then came the flashback. This is what drives me insane.
In Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow is out to destroy the world, and it's remembering Maria's true final wish that stopped him.
I never could've predicted that in this version, it was Sonic who was out to kill someone, kill Shadow, but remembering Tom's words to him about not letting his pain change who he is was what stopped him. Sonic was the one who needed to stop and remember. And that's just what he did. šŸ„ŗ
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then, only then, was he able to calm down, remember himself, remember what Tom would want him to do. He wasn't handling this the same way he'd handled Longclaw's death. He was turning into exactly what Shadow had become. The horror at realizing what he'd nearly become, what he'd almost done, set in.
He made the right choice in the end because of that. Just like Shadow did in the games. Just like he later did here, too. But Shadow was able to have "redemption" of sorts in this version, not because of some talk, but because he saw the example in Sonic, right in front of him.
We know what happened next, I'm not gonna go much into it. But seeing this whole side of Sonic, the side that just barely slipped out in the last movie, was so, so fascinating. I love how each movie continues to explore him as the main character, in a different way. This one probably got me crying the most. I cried even as I wrote this post and put more pieces together. The more I think about it, the more I love it. šŸ„¹šŸ˜šŸ’™šŸ’›ā¤ļø

sari did not "choose" anything. you wrote her to choose sentinel, wrote her to be 25, and claimed that "making people uncomfortable is okay in writing." but then also try to claim that this is Japanese culture.
okay, well not all of your followers are Japanese and they don't have to be okay with seeing sari, an 8 year old upgraded to teenager, as said by her dad, now suddenly with a grown up alien robot.
You're free to draw what you want and write what you want. and if you post it publicly, people are allowed to have their public say. that first anon explained it perfectly and I have no idea how you could not understand what they meant when they said "if you knew someone since they were a baby or toddler, and then decided to date them the moment they were of age [18 in the states] , that is predatory, as in creepy, as in WRONG, you are predatory, as in creepy, as in WRONG.
no one in the States would or should find the idea of GROOMING as part of someone's culture. it doesn't matter if sentinel did or didn't remember sari.
again, draw what you want, but dont compare people being uncomfortable with your choice in taboo art as being like your mother. her issues with you are their own and your viewer's discomfort is NOT on the same level.
i really liked your art, but if this is how you will be when being told this sort of stuff makes people uneasy, then block and block and block. it is your account after all. and don't try to guilt trip people, that doesn't do anything but make your victim card expire. you're an adult drawing weird stuff. if you wanna own it, own it. don't pull the "I've been gone for 5 years, almost hurt myself and my mom gave me a hard time." its not fair you went through that but only bringing it up again NOW makes you look like you're farming for sympathy cause you drew an aged up version of sari dating a full grown mech.
She chose to based on the character development she was given. A writer understands this. Writing is uncomfortable. Otherwise why would you be question sari but not Tailgate, a literal child, being married to Cyclonus? You not question JRO? This is an edit: I have learned it is not a literal Child, he is only mind of a child behaviour.
Please curb your racism.
Sentinel didn't decide to date Sari moment she is 18. He did not know it was Sari and did not know his age. Why do you extrapolate "he waits knowingly until she is 18 to date"? that is you being malicious intentionally. She wasn't groomed. He didn't have contact with her at all xD You're being intentionally malicious and misleading! If you wish to debate you must have sensible argument not fake ones to lie to the audience. What are you talking about taboo mother????
If you cannot understand that sometimes there is writing that makes you unhappy and it's okay to be unhappy without the harassment of source, you are not mature enough to be reading my content, not mature enough to be on the internet. Grow up and stop being so racist and intentionally misleading!
Post-edit: Translator Alice here. She means that Sentinel has not seen Sari since last he saw her in the series. Sentinel doesn't recognize Sari as Sari when he sees her ala Cybertronian bibliotecaria. He never had a romantic interest in her as a child and was not waiting for her to become "of age" to date her. 20 years old is an important coming-of-age in Japan, so Sari being 18 at this point would have no significance to her dating-wise, unlike in America, where the age of 18 is significant. Nowhere did she say that he was waiting for her to become legal. That is something that was insinuated by the viewers.

Why does pre shimmer season 1 Jinx look like fcking AUPowderšŸ˜ (Im about to go on a rant)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got rid of Jinx's eyebags as best as my inexperienced ass could and tweaked her expression a bit, bro in a different lightening that is literally Powder, makes me realize why Ekko couldn't tell them apart initiallyšŸ˜ When he left she still looked like that to his memory(With the eyebags tho) and then he comes back and she looks like a train wreck with chopped hair, a missing finger, eyebags twice as bad, pale as a corpse and PINK eyes, bro what i would give to see the 60 minute cut is almost listed as a warcrime
But aside from that, is interesting (to me) how Jinx has a face model for when she acts like Powder where her expression becomes more innocent/harmless/childish like, meanwhile Powder always looks like Jinx, she only has one face model, perhaps because she is not fragmented by 'two identities' , doesn't have the Powder childhood trauma that would make her age regress unconsciously to such an extent that it would be shown even in her facial expressions and facial proportions. She isn't haunted by a much younger version of herself she's trying to hide and protect, because she actually lived her childhood and grew out of it, Jinx is sort of partially stuck in limbo there imo.
Idk bro is just interesting, i might be stupid for pointing this out when they are the same person, just ignore me if u think so pls.
Anyways, also, season 2 post Ekko boysaving- Jinx meeting AU!Powder would be wholesome asf imo?
Rant incoming
Maybe not season 1!Jinx or even post blowing up the council!Jinx but Jinx after rekindling with her one and only best friend and building shit together and painting on each other when she physically recoiled at touch before, i feel like with no Silco around to enable her and manipulate her, what happened with Isha plus Ekko who was once her only savior and friend seeking her out again at the edge of the abyss made a very important difference in her behavior and sanity, she's not as well adjusted as Powder is but she certainly isn't gonna like try to commit terrorism if she sees her.
I just feel like nobody can understand Jinx's struggle and mind like HERSELF, Powder has had the hallucinations too, she might still have them actually, she experienced grief to a degree aswell and over the same person too, because Jinx thought Vi was dead didn't she?. Not only that but Jinx's confidence and 'ideas that change the world' would be good for Powder who is holding herself back and staying on the sidelines even though she's smarter than anyone.
As Amanda said 'there is some Jinx in Powder and some Powder in Jinx' and in my opinion they both struggle with accepting the Powder/Jinx within them. Anyways imma stfu now, if anybody read this far is a miracle Xd

// annoying post! where I decide not to wade into discourse but waffle about how I almost did so. without telling you what it is
there's a position X held by a lot of people around me / on tumblr, which I disagree with (but not strongly), and i just ran across a version of X in the wild where the person stated it in a very reasonable-to-me way that is nonetheless seems kinda unpopular / saying the quiet part Y out loud. and now part of me wants to make a poll saying "assuming you agree with X, do you also agree with this related belief Y", but since Y is Unpopular Coded, this would make my notifications hell for a while if I wanted to get more than ~300 responses... oh well

Youā€™re welcome! Itā€™s refreshing to see someone posting accurate responses when it comes to Sparta - thereā€™s just so much misinformation around, it drives me crazy to the point where I try not to look, lol.
I wrote a fairly long break down on the so-called liberation of Spartan women here which may help you in finding the sources youā€™re looking for - unfortunately, Iā€™m reliant on translations though, so I can only hope theyā€™re accurate to the original. And of course, with Sparta there are very few sources, all deeply biased, so itā€™s hard (probably impossible) to see the situation at all clearly.
The short version is (after the Lykourgan reforms) thereā€™s really very few ways that we could consider Spartan women as liberated in any modern sense - they could own property, which was very unlike any other polis we know of; and at least when they were young they engaged in physical exercise, and itā€™s possible this was done with the boys, and in the nude. Which I guess is liberated? Maybe? lol
Anyway - Itā€™s pretty broadly agreed that this ended at marriage, when a woman became her husbands property, more or less - including his right to share her with a friend to produce children. Itā€™s also pretty much not debated that women could have multiple husbands/households.
Itā€™s believed the cultural shift (what we call the Lykourgan reforms, though there was likely no singular change as the ancient writers believed) happened in the 7th century - well after the Bronze Age of the epic cycle, and probably a century after Homerā€™s work was being set down. So for sure, drawing Helen based on Classical Sparta as we think we know it, is almost certainly wrong.
Of course people can do what they want in a creative space, but the general disregard for history really bothers me. How can they be interested the mythology, in the Epic Cycle, and not care at all about the people who made it? The culture that produced it? I just donā€™t understand it. To me, you can only understand one by having an understanding of the other. Theyā€™re two sides of the same sheet of paper.
Hi! Love your takes and all! What do you think of people talking about Penelope being all buff and strong physically as she was "Spartan?" or that she find Odysseus more attractive with blood plaster on his body as she is "Spartan" or such?. Is it true in the Epics? I read something about a Lykurgus or something..I just want to have a nuanced answer to that, also sorry for the silly question.
You are very kind Anon and I am glad you find them useful
Okay for starters I think this whole thing is a massive stereotype in regards to Sparta that "they are all sexually aroused by blood and violence". I mean yes Sparta as we know had an extreme military outline but it is not like they all just killed around to have fun like a twisted version of Asterix village or something. They valued war and the strength in war of course and they took pride to their warfare and all but yeah I think the whole thing of "oh gosh! Blood! Foreplay for Spartans" is just a joke that goes too far sometimes (although we DO have some exaggerated sources about the Spartans but, surprise surprise, they come from their main rival, Athens so yeah one needs to consider that too. So yeah although the Spartans were strictly military I do not think it is actually realistic to say that they all went like:
Tumblr media
lol XD
Two this "Sparta" that they mostly mention is at least 100 years if not more away than the "Sparta" mentioned in the epic cycle. You see the Epic Cycle might have been synthesized at the 8th century BC but the events taking place in it, reflect on the Bronze Age or the Mycenean kingdoms which existed before. These "Spartans" everyone speaks about is usually referring to the Doriean Spartans. The Dorieans were a Greek set of tribes with their own dialect that came down from the north at the year around 1100 BC, around 100 years after the estimated date of the events of the Trojan war and they got to remain to the areas such as Macedonia or Lacedaimona aka Sparta thus we have Macedonians and Spartans speak Doric Greek dialect while Atheneans speak Attic Greek dialect and the Asia Minor greek cities speak Ionian etc Either way as I said the events of the Trojan war happened around 100 years before this Doric Tribe descend much less till the strictly military spartan system to be fully crystallized. So we need to think of that. And even then it is not like the Spartan women were some sort of body-builders who didn't have any sort of binary roles to their society or being active warriors in armies etc (don't mistake them for Amazons guys! Hahahaha!). They did actively excersize more than most Greek cities at that time and they did take part in athletic events more than let's say Athens (Athenean women by n large seemed to participate in sports such as running and those were exclusively for Hera's celebrations) so we can imagine they would be more athletic than the average Greek lady but that doesn't mean they were soldier-trained or anything. The military training was for boys at the city of Sparta. And women still had their own binary roles in their respected society, they just had some more freedom as compared to their Athenean counterparts.
So even if Myceneans DID have a more military form of society or at least based on the findings they did focus on warfare to their art and such and the building of their walls and all they still wouldn't be the same as the doric Sparta that were exclusively military. Could perhaps mycenean Sparta have the basis for the future doric Sparta? Perhaps but I doubt we have sufficient evidence to say they are identical.
Three. I believe that people who wanna desperately depict Penelope as some buff lady, misses the concept of Penelope's strength in the Odyssey. Penelope was not strong because she could fight with the sword. She was strong because she was mentally steadfast, clever and resourceful and enduring and she managed to hold the kingdom of Ithaca steadfast by herself for 20 years. It wasn't about her being buff lady. Homer does seem to imply she was tall and stoutly buillt; see my other post where I mention her physical description in Homer:
but not buff as "I'm gonna kick your ass" buff and all. Homer doesn't mention that any of the Spartan princesses have some specific training (Helen Clytemnestra or Penelope) but later literature implies that they have basic knowledge on weaponry (for example in later 5th century dramas and above Clytemnestra not only is seen wielding a weapon but knowing some basics as to how it was made) but it needs to be said that the posthomeric sources were also influenced by their contemporary Sparta aka the doric military Sparta. Homer doesn't imply that this strict military doric way of life was part of his lore but he does imply that Sparta relies more to its military (as compared to Ithaca or Pylos for example) so maybe he attempts to create the illusion of historical continuation but either way no this whole "300s-like" Sparta was not crystalized yet to the times that Homer synthesized his poems much less to the time of Bronze Age.
And there is no hint that Penelope goes "WOW BLOOD!" that seems to me one of the overused jokes on the internet, again emanating by the whole series of Sparta stereotypes used for comedy. It was in fact Euryclea the one to almost welp in happiness seeing Odysseus covered in blood and that was because Odysseus had killed the men she hated. Penelope doesn't show such a thing. Odysseus also washes himself up to be presentable to her. And even in posthomeric sources Penelope was not linked to physical strength but rather with the strength of her mind and the purity of her intentions (well...except maybe from Parthenius narrative if I recall correctly. There Penelope is pictured as scheming in jealousy against one of the sons Odysseus ellegedly produced and manipulated her husband to kill his illegitimate son)
As for the last part I am not sure what you are referring to? Are you referring to Lycurgus that is mentioned in some later sources as king? I did find for example the reference of Plutarch (who lives much much later) that he implies that Lycurgus lives at the same time as Homer or possibly had met him personally but is that what you are referring to? Either way I assume you refer to the historical person rather than some mythical figure because in homeric realm we do have rulers such as Tyndareus (the king of Sparta father to Helen and Clytemnestra) and Icarius (father to Penelope). It seems that Homer with the mention of the two rulers, even if not directly mentioning it, seems to be winking at the later but still ancient custom of doric Sparta to have two kings but I am not sure if that truly was his objective (and therefore creating an anachronism most likely)
I hope that answers your questions a bit

I love the pale garden and how it's like a parallel to dark forests. I love how the two divert expectations.
Dark forests, despite their name, are saturated and full of life. Even compared to regular forests, there's a lot more biodiversity than many of the "basic" biomes. There's three whole different trees found there, giant mushrooms, and plenty of flowers. They're one of the biomes capable of spawning a lush cave underneath it. It has its dangers just like any other overworld biome, obviously, but it's nothing overly more than anywhere else. Traversing it can be tricky sometimes and illagers may take residence in the biome's woodland mansions, but it's ultimately a very colorful and lively environment.
Opposing it is the new pale garden. Usually white and light colors are seen as pristine and good, but the pale garden takes it the opposite direction and goes right into uncanny valley territory. It has none of the color of dark forests, none of the biodiversity, none of the liveliness. It has trees and moss that look familiar, but something is off. It has a signature mob, but even the creaking is just a puppet of the trees, not really sentient, not really even plotting against anything. There's "life", but, once again, it's wrong.
I think the pale garden is a wonderful addition to Minecraft's world building as it is, but the deliberate parallel to dark forests? Delicious.

tbh I want to see more DS9 polycule stuff centering on Kira. Like, "This is my girlfriend, Jadzia (she's also Worf's wife), and my girlfriend Odo (who is also Quark's boyfriend), and my boyfriend Miles, who is married to my girlfriend Keiko, and they're dating Julian (who is really just my metamour, but he DID get me pregnant with Miles and Keiko's child), and my boyfriend Shakaar, and my boyfriend Bareil, and my boyfriend Damar, and this is Gul Dukat, who I want to kill, but is the father of my adopted daughter-"

I love the show The Librarians but I never can forgive the writers for making an entire episode about Ezekiel Jones going through trauma after trauma, learning so many things and growing so much as a person as he fights through a time loop looking for some way to save everyone, having him succeed in saving everyone but himself, and for his fellow Librarians who only know the last loop to bring him back BUT HE HAS NO MEMORIES FROM HIS TIME IN THE TIME LOOP!
Just a character reset and I was so pissed. They didn't even allude to him actually remembering but pretending not to!

cw: Bakugou dies but comes back to life, ā€œcomes back wrongā€ trope, implied fighting, angst
When Bakugou died, youā€™re not sure how you went on living. Grief had taken over your life, sat you in the passenger side while it cruised off the highway into icy waters. And even then, you couldnā€™t find the energy to drown.
Itā€™s why thereā€™s a sudden uptick of energy when youā€™re promised to have him back. Some top scientists contact you months after his death, tell you to hurry down to the headquarters labs, come and rejoice for what youā€™re about to witness. And youā€™re horrified, to say the least.
ā€œThis isnā€™t my husband.ā€ Are your first words when you walk in, watch the figure on the other side of the glass examine its own hands. It looks like your husband butā€”but his hair isnā€™t the right shade of blond all over. His nose bridge had a slight bump after a scuffle with a villain. He had a scar on his hand butā€”but it never looked like it was to sew a pinky beside the other fingers.
ā€œIs that really my husband?ā€ You ask next in disbelief, slowly entering the room. Bakugouā€™s head snaps up, his eyes a little brighter than you remember butā€”they hold so much emotion. So much memory, so much panic, so much guilt.
ā€œI left you.ā€ He mutters, his voice raspy and ragged, and you wonder if itā€™ll always be like this now. It makes you cry a little harder than it should, but you only embrace each other. Heā€™s cold and his shoulders donā€™t hold the same mass and his back doesnā€™t carry the same scars. Thereā€™s one, jagged and rough, running down his back, and you think, you think thatā€™s where they slipped a new spine in.
ā€œWelcome back home.ā€ You tell him, weeks after meeting him again, new and not totallyā€”Katsuki. Heā€™s stiff and he doesnā€™t immediately take off his boots when he enters, and it worries you. Makes you think if youā€™ve just let a stranger into your home, one that has stolen your dead husbands face. Makes you wonder if heā€™ll be as loving as Katsuki once was, or if heā€™ll become your monster looming over you with the guilt of not being able to rest anymore.
ā€œIā€™ve missed you so much.ā€ You whisper against his mouth one night, a little while after heā€™s moved back. You donā€™t know why you lay under him, why you let him nestle himself inside of you, why you let him hold you against his chest. Katsuki always ran his hands over your cheeks and neck whenever he held you like this, but thisā€¦man, only holds himself up with his hands resting beside your head. Itā€™s alien, how he looks at you, how his hips are methodically measured with every thrust, how he kisses you every 8 seconds. You wonder if heā€™s more robot than Frankenstein monster.
ā€œWhy did you come back to me like this?ā€ You ask him one night, barricaded in the bathroom away from him. You can hear his sobs on the other side, his pleading to be let in. He tells you he never wanted to come back if he had to be like this, that heā€™s sorry, please let him in, he misses the warmth of your skin, heā€™s never been so cold before, heā€™s never liked the cold.
ā€œIs this considered cheating?ā€ You ask yourself aloud one night, when Bakugou is forced back to the lab when he becomes tooā€¦un-Bakugou. To sleep with a man that is your husband in every way but? Your husband has been dead for a year now, and yet you stroke the chin of the man that tries so hard to be him everyday, but fails so miserably at it every time.
ā€œIā€™ll come back to you right this time.ā€ Bakugou promises to you when heā€™s strapped down to leave for the lab and before heā€™s sedated. But you donā€™t believe himā€”you never did. Your husband is dead, and this animated corpse has been nothing but a cheap mockery of everything youā€™ve lost and something you will never truly get back.

There's something about like. A certain genre of posts / Online Opinions about insecurity/depression/misery/complaints that are so unhelpful that they wrap right around to being straight up hilarious. and it's the ones that are more or less written to the tone of "Feeling bad? That's gross!" Like, just so you know, don't voice your insecurities/ have low self esteem, because that's offputting! You're gross and weird. Don't be insecure about that, though. That would be stupid if you felt insecure about people disliking you for being insecure. Not attractive. You should be thinking about being as attractive as possible. You shouldn't make comments about suicide, even if you're suicidal! Keep those thoughts entirely to yourself. Make sure nobody around you knows you're thinking about this. It would Make Them Uncomfortable. It's better to keep these thoughts in your head where they can fester. Don't post OR talk to friends with complaints about you feeling miserable or depressed. Tbh people who are sad/upset a lot? Kinda a red flag! You are probably miserable because you're a bad person and you've brought this on yourself. If you don't have friends, it's because you're awful to be around. Easy! Solved the problem for you. And no, there is no nuance to this, got it? So, make sure to feel bad about feeling bad, but don't feel bad about it, because, well, that's just gross. And annoying! You might've wanted your brain rotted thoughts to be Peer Reviewed, you might have just needed to vent- you might've been hoping for some comfort, to get things off your chest. Well, don't! Don't talk about thoughts or feelings that are negative with your friends, you'd be burdening them and that's only meant for THERAPY. #SponsoredbyBetterHelp #MentalHealth like, DAMN. that's so helpful. you're so good at helping. I um really liked the part where these are all hard and fast rules that encourage keeping feelings bottled up and keeping your friends at arm's length. That's really funny of you.
