Lenore now has a backstory written up.
TW: Nostramo fucked-up-ness.
One sunless winter day in 884.M30 as the Imperium of Man counts time, on the dreary world of Nostramo, two children were born. As happens all over the galaxy.
(Later estimated to be 980.884.M30 by Imperial archivists)
These two would turn out to be linked. The first, in City’s Edge, Hive Quintus, was the later to be infamous Jago Sevatarion. Unaware of his checkered future. But what he had was a mother.
The second, in a towering gothic castle outside of Nostramo’s teeming hive cities was a blonde girl saddled with the name of Anastasia Eleanor Victoria Erzsebet Voronina. (Later preferred the shortened form Lenore.)
Unusually decanted from a Drukhari cloning vat by one of the feared Haemonculi. According to the wishes of one Count Vladimir Alexander Gabriel Voronin, the lord of the castle. Who had decided on this course of action due to the sheer impossibility of finding a wife lacking in the curiosity to go poking around his secret rooms.
A man cannot be spending his life on lavish weddings when there is work to do, as he would remark.
His daughter was mostly left to be raised by servants until she was old enough to be of use in his schemes.
What neither the Drukhari nor the Count knew was that the wrong infant had been delivered.
Having more genetic material than needed, the Drukhari had made several infants. While this girl certainly had the Count’s genes, the other parent was the Primarch Sanguinius. Moreover, the Haemonculus had infused this child with a shard of the Aeldari God of War, wrath, destruction and murder, Kaela Mensha Khaine. Khaine the Bloody Handed. Making her 1/3 Nostraman, 1/3 Primarch and 1/3 Aeldari.
Illicit substances may have been involved in the confusion, as well as an inability to tell mon’keigh infants apart.
Lenore, being who she was, frequently slipped away from home to explore. On one such trip, she met the young boy Jago Sevatarion. Who found her takedown of a would be mugger to be intensely interesting.
Nostraman men seem to be genetically incapable of resisting women capable of killing or grievously wounding them.
One trip because many, the pair becoming inseparable.
On one such occasion, Jago presented his friend with a knife, the handle fashioned from the arm bone of a would be trafficker, known to deal in slaves. (Count Voronin was not best pleased to lose one of his associates)
This was the last time the two met, as the Count had become aware that his dear daughter had been straying outside his castle. Fortunately for Sevatarion, and the Night Lords’ future common sense, he had not found his daughter’s suitor. Nor that she had one.
Upon Lenore’s return, she was thrown in the dungeon, until the Drukhari could be contacted to force compliance. (Maybe he should have asked the Imperium, as the Astartes indoctrination would have done the job. He was out for blood, though.)
As a result of the Haemonculus’ tender mercies, the implanted shard of Khaine triggered, fully fusing with Lenore to become something more. Going on a godly killing rampage through the burning castle, Lenore came across her uncle, the Count’s twin brother, Adrian Mihail Wilhelm Voronin. He had long desired to wed his brother’s daughter, trying to force her compliance at sword point. Leading to Lenore getting her throat slit. Not that it would kill her at this point. But it was clear that she needed to train to master her abilities.
Purposely falling from the castle buttresses into the moat infested with carnivorous fish, Lenore let her uncle believe she had passed. Fleeing Nostramo, she found it difficult to hide, due to the changes wrought by the merger with a part of an Aeldari god. Additionally the Drukhari were pursuing her as well, finally having realized where their misplaced weapon had been.
The pointed ears were somewhat possible to hide, but the giant black feathered wings from Sanguinius were a different matter. Requiring Lenore to cut her own wings off on a regular basis to avoid detection. Especially after she joined the Great Crusade as an Archivist. The wings always grow back within a short time. But she could not afford to stand out. Not without allies.

Never has "you praise a male character for the same traits you hate a female character for" been more true than with how fans react to Astarion vs Minthara

sometimes i think about how sirius’ room in grimmauld place was kept, much like regulus’, basically exactly how he left it and then i just think. his brother, his mother, his father—did they think it was temporary? did they expect him to come back one day, say hello, and move in again? did they believe he ought to be left alone to come to his senses on his own? he’s no son of theirs but they kept it. he was all but dead to them and they kept it.
it’s a mausoleum without a body to bury. regulus died once, sirius died twice, and their rooms are kept how they left it. capsules of a better time. kreacher ensured regulus’ memory stayed, but why hold onto the remnants of sirius? it’s like cutting your dead horse’s tail, like keeping your dog’s lead, like saving your cat’s collar—like wearing your grandma’s necklace or your dad’s coat, your mum’s scarf or your grandpa’s wristwatch.
they kept it. his schoolbooks were still on the shelves, as if he’d just gone on holiday and was expected back at any moment. he was dead to them and they kept it, made it into a metaphorical tomb, the unchanged bedroom of a dead child.
it’s like a reminder of failure. but can it still be a shrine if there’s nothing there to worship?

it's so painful that i can't romance vivienne with an inquisitor who is genuinely head over heels, absolutely heartstruck by her. because now all i can do is imagine mescha sitting on her balcony late at night as she spins the ring vivienne gave to her around her finger again and again and again as she stares at the stars and wonders if it any of it means anything at all. if any of the 'darling's and 'my dear's and 'sweet thing's vivienne has so casually sent her way meant anything more than just passive endearment.

Hello fellow Ten/Donna peeps. As I know our people are starving, I have come to offer some crumbs from the novel "Shining Darkness" by Mark Michalowski.
Tumblr media
1: (twinkly glare is such a good description of her oh my goodness)
Tumblr media
2: The Doctor wishing (his) Ginger Goddess was there to protect him (he is definitely the damsel in this relationship)
Tumblr media
3: Donna just loving herself because wholesome (and she's right on all counts. Queen.)
Tumblr media
4: Donna THROWING HERSELF into his arms and burying her head in his chest. And then punching him. (And him obviously enjoying the hug, which makes him smile despite being sad in this scene)
Tumblr media
5: Donna thinking about her and the Doctor just missing each other in a way that sounds a lot like they are a married couple (they are)
Tumblr media
6: This needs no explanation (actually it does. The man has a crush.)
Tumblr media
7: This never specifies that she took her head off his shoulder. For all we know she put her head on his shoulder and inhaled deeply and had a heartfelt conversation with him and. I'm so normal about them.
Okay that's all bye.

-- I prefer girls. [featuring the ever elegant Lia of @the-white-snake!]
I am very late with this trend, but we are here! Recreation of this novel cover:
Tumblr media
Recreation might be a bit of a stretch, no? Perhaps inspired by. Either way!! Thank you to Rasp for sharing her poses HERE -- I just had to tweak them for scaling! Also thank you to Iron for lending me Lia and rotating them together with me. It has been a joy building their relationship.

I have already gushed about how much Shaun Temple loves and adores Donna Noble but I cannot emphasize enough that I am 100% certain she is JUST as wholly besotted with him!! I know in my heart they are like. An EMBARRASSINGLY lovey couple. I know Donna's like SHAUN!! HEY!!! and he's like YES HON?? and she's like. You have a cute butt :3. Hell it's probably WORSE now that her other special little guy is back and she's not trying to work around an open wound of inexplicable grief. Hope she has flex time at UNIT because she's been repeatedly late due to a impromptu 20 minute snogging session.

One of the things that it's always interesting to see in a gothic noble is what the villain, or the antagonist represents in the narrative as a whole.
The Gothic is a romantic literary response to the historical, sociological, and political contexts of the the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century. It's a look through the ruin, the passionate, the bigoted, the decaying, and the irrational rationality.
It's an explanation as to why it's crucial to the narrative of why Dracula is a count, why Jonathan is an inexperienced worker, and why there is so much emphasis on the locals.
"Because your peasant is at heart a coward and a fool! Those flames only appear on one night; and on that night no man of this land will, if he can help it, stir without his doors. And, dear sir, even if he did he would not know what to do. Why, even the peasant that you tell me of who marked the place of the flame would not know where to look in daylight even for his own work. Even you would not, I dare be sworn, be able to find these places again?"
How much contempt, and underlining hatred can one fit in a single paragraph that bordelines on a monologue? Dracula truly holds true resentment towards the locals of Transylvania for daring to try, and defend themselves against him.
He doesn't call them locals, citizens, not even commoners, but peasants. A word that not only signals the kind of social hierarchy that Dracula benefits the most (notice how he also included Jonathan in the social class at the end), but also why he is shown so angry despite Jonathan asking a simple question.
The locals of Transylvania had commited the worst crime in the eyes of the Count, the peasants dared to revolt against their "master" in order to keep themselves alive instead of baring their necks for the slaughter. Even with all of the fear that Dracula has sowed in the heart of the locals, to the point that they obey all of his orders, it's still not enough for him. That fear it's not enough for Dracula because it lacks the concrete submission of his old days as an actual noble class.
The locals of Transylvania fear him for his power and his wealth, but they lack the class mentality that would truly put them under Dracula, and that is eating the Count alive. He calls them fools while they fill their streets with protection wards and put rosaries around their necks, he calls them cowards while we have read how everyone around Jonathan risked the Count's wrath to protect him.
We Transylvanian nobles love not to think that our bones may lie amongst the common dead.
The Count hates the old innkeepers, the coachman, and the passengers for daring to rebel against him, even if he is still the unliving cause of their suffering.
Hell, it's heavily implied that all of that is still not enough to fully stop Dracula, and yet he is still so angry. There is nothing that the aristocratic nobility hates more than the mere vision of how the people they deem beneath them act together to stop their abuse.

Obey Me! Nightbringer Lesson 36
I cannot even begin to express how happy this scene made me :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I literally laughed out loud.
My genuine reaction was : "Haha! Good! Serves you right!"
I find it hilarious how Lucifer looks so annoyed, yet it was okay that he basically did the same exact thing to us in the previous lesson.
Well, Lucifer... if you can dish it out, learn to take it! xD
I was pretty annoyed with Mephisto previously (which I will post about soon), but he has definitely redeemed himself with this move even though he also ordered for us, at least I'd eat the toast lol
