Choso: "Hey guys, it’s Chosen here with Toji, Kuna, and Guru! Together, we make up Gifted Curse, and today we’re about to play '10 for 10' with BuzzWord! Let’s get it!" *points to camera*

Rules: Each member will take turns pulling tiny scrolls with questions from this fishbowl. The goal is to answer 10 questions in under 10 minutes. If they fail, they will have to pull a dare from the Dare Box. If they succeed, they get to pull a prize from the Prize Box.

Sukuna steps up to the bowl first.

Toji: "Age before beauty, right?"

Choso: “Dang… okay, um…*looks at ceiling as if hes trying to remember* ‘You're contagious… touch me, baby, give me what you got…’”

Choso and Suguru start laughing while Toji just smiles.

Toji: *grimaces because its common knowledge that he hates spicy things*

Pairing(s): Oikawa, Atsumu and Sakusa x fem!reader

Oikawa

Being a model sure is exhausting, but you can’t denied that the perks that comes with your job is sure worth it, especially when that perk is a vip ticket to a San Juan home game where you got the chance to see and later have a meet and greet with your favorite member, Oikawa Tooru.

“Yep, totally worth it.” You said as you fawn over the Japanese man.

Oikawa was just drinking water during half-time when suddenly he sees it, in the corner of his eyes was the most beautiful person he has ever seen, his breath hitched as his heart began to beat faster, he almost even drop his water bottle. He had to look in your direction again to see if he’s not dreaming. Holy shit you are real and you’re in the vip section too? So that means he has to meet you later?! Oh now he’s panicking.

The match ends with the win goes to San Juan and the meet and greet began, and when he’s seeing you walking towards him? Man’s double panicking (from the inside).

“Hi! I’m a big fan of you! It’s nice to finally meet you Oikawa!”

And your voice is also pretty? Oh boy.

In the midst of panicking, he blurts out. “I THINK YOU’RE REALLY PRETTY AND I’D LIKE TO ASK YOU OUT.”

Silence.

Everyone in the rooms blinks, his teammates trying hard not to burst out laughing, other fans are looking at you whispering, some are about how lucky you are, and others are how they seemed to recognize you as that famous model. You on the other hand, smiled at the confession.

Atsumu found you while scrolling through social media and was instantly hooked. Not only were you a rising star in the singing world, but you’re also a famous socialite that captures the heart of millions with your beauty and talent, including him. It was a mini crush that he had, you just had to be beautiful and talented and so on. The other guys would shit on him all the time, especially Sakusa.

“Omg y’all, she followed me back on Instagram! I can die a happy man now.” He sigh dreamily.

“Then die, at least I won’t hear your fanboy squealing anymore.”

“Wow, so rude Omi-omi.”

Fast forward to a MSBY home game that his team had just won, so everyone is going out treating themselves some drinks at a nearby cafe. When suddenly, someone bumped into his back and he hears a plastic material drops.

"I'm sorry!" Atsumu recognize that voice. He turns around and sees you bending down to reach for a pair of sunglasses, but he hasn't yet recognized you because you were also wearing a cap that completely obscured your face from his view.

He looks outside of the store where he saw a group of people holding cameras. Paparazzi, he realizes, and they were chasing…you?

“I truly apologize for stumbling into you again.” He almost spits up his drink when he finally sees your face after you speak up and stand up. There you are in all your glory, although not wearing makeup or expensive clothing, you still look stunning to him.

“Oh! You’re Miya Atsumu! I’m a big fan!” And you were a fan of him too? Did he just won a jackpot?

The two of you just stand there in shock, having to meet eachother’s celebrity in this situation was not what you expect, no one said anything, that is until his teammates had enough.

“Hey Miya! Why don’t you ask you ask her out? Aren’t you simping for her?” Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly), Sakusa spoke up first, opening the gates for his other teammates to hype in up as well.

And that’s just the boost he needs, he has to thank them later, so with a deep breath, he gave you his signature grin. “So, wanna hang out sometime?”

Sakusa:

Sakusa doesn’t know when he started to see you, but he’s glad. For some reason, he always seemed to notice you in the stands, seemingly blending into the rest of the fans, and it annoys him at first, but the more he saw you, the more you grew on him even though you two don’t have any interaction. To him, everything about you just screamed perfect and when he saw you wear his jersey number, cheering for him specifically, he cannot denied the fact that he’s fallen for you.

So when he looks up in the stand and cannot find you anywhere, his mood dropped and although it didn’t effect his game, even his teammates notices this and although they didn’t know why (bc Sakusa would dropped dead before he is even considering telling them about his crush), they knew is was kinda big. It was at that day when he decided to fuck it and decided that the next time he

He knows that you cannot make it to his game, but what he didn’t know is the reason why you cannot go there, and it’s because by the time the game is over, you are on a plane going back to Japan after winning an ice skating tournament. Sure you won, but you’re still salty about the fact that you miss your favorite athlete Sakusa fricking Kiyomi’s home match which they also won.

Promising to yourself that you see him next time, not knowing what would come next.

“How did it comes to this?” Is the first question you two had when you met him again…in an ice skating tournament you are in! Apparently, Komori dragged him here because for some reason he got interest in this sport and Sakusa was about to complain when he saw you. There you are, in your shiny outfit and perfect makeup, you gracefully slide on the ice while doing spins and jumps making him completely infatuated by your skills. You were an athlete yourself? And you’re a fan of him??

And when your eyes met, it was like the world around you was slowing down, your eyes widens as you realized that your athlete crush is here and although flustered, you now completely focused on showing of your best move to impress him (not that you didn’t already), leading you to winning the tournament.

Sakusa definitely had to thank Komori for this later, but first, he had to find you to ask you out.

i literally saw a tiktok of Changbin not being able to multitask and this came to my mind. NOT PROOFREAD, no warnings, have fun readddinng !!

You had been dating Changbin for about 2 years, you guys had your fair share of ups and downs but it all made your relationship stronger than anything. You were used to stay over at their dorm while the other kids were there. You had a close friendship with BangChan and Felix, but ofc you were close with everyone else. You and Changbin were the type of couple who would get looks from other because you were either too sweet around each other or you couldn’t stop bickering like some 5 year olds. Anyways you loved him with your whole heart and the SKZ fam really felt like your own family. One of the things you cannot get over tho was the fact that Changbin cannot multitask, this man I swear if he’s concentrating on one thing he cannot hear or see anything else. This mostly happens when he’s concentrated on an important task.

You arrived to his studio where Bangchan and Jisung were over to work over some tracks with Changbin, they were used to you coming over after you had finished working for uni or finished your part time job, Changbin never let you go home alone at night time which is why you ended up at the dorm most of the time. “Heyy people” you said as you opened the door and tiredly made your way over to your boyfriend to kiss his head and then made your way to the small sofa in his studio, “Heyy Y/n, how was your shift?” Chan asked, “Tiring, people really are mean sometimes… but then I get sweet customers and forget all about them. How are things going here?” you asked. You worked as a cashier in a supermarket, you liked the part time job because your colleagues were all nice but some days you wondered why human beings can be so mean to each other. “Good, we just need to finish putting together this track and I think we’ll be done then.” Han answered. You hummed and took out your phone as you replied to a couple of messages.

Changbin wasn’t ignoring you, he knew you were here, the kiss on his head signalled it to him, but he was deep into the adjustments of the track and didn’t get to greet you. You didn’t mind, you knew you would get smothered in kisses as soon as he was done, but you swore him not being able to multitask is quite funny. “He really is concentrated he cant even say hi to his girlfriend, he was just talking about you for the whole day Y/n” Han said as he made his way to you on the sofa. You laughed a bit while looking at the back of his head. “I know, his multitasking skills are awful… I mean does he even know that is super girlfriend is here??” you asked as you made your voice a bit louder near the end of your sentence. “I know right? Like THE Y/N is here and CHANGBIN doesn’t even budge.” Jisung said. “I mean… BINNIE DO YOU EVEN LOVE ME?” you said as you got up and said it loudly “YEAH HYUNG DO YOU EVEN LOVE HER?” Changbin was not budging, you and Jisung thought to get a bit more mean “HEY Y/N DO YOU HAVE A CRUSH?” Jisung asked knowing well that you have always been a fan of Ateez and your favorite member is ironically Changbin’s best friend. You started swaying in the room around your boyfriend while you loudly and proudly said “WHY YES I DO, I LOOOOVE WOOYOUNG OF ATEEZ, I MEAN THIS MAN I SWEAR I LITERALLY LO-“ you had to deadass stop in your tracks as your boyfriend had gotten up from his seat and stopped you in your tracks, he was towering over you, face literally a few inches away from yours. You swallowed hardly as you just watched up at him “Yeah hun, tell me? Who do you love?” he asked as he kept on coming closer to your face. You know your boyfriend is mostly a cutie but you sometimes forget about his intimidating side (which we all love come on). Although he was a bit intimidating you couldn’t help but keep on annoying him “Finally you look at me,” you said as you turned around and crossed your arms “I thought I was going to have to change boyfriends.” “Excuse me miss?” Changbin asked you turned around and said “Well yeah I mean I know you suck at multitasking but what if I was bleeding all over or there was a big world emergency or what if-“ you couldn’t finish your sentence as you felt a soft pair of lips come against your own. Changbin kissed you to shut you up and honestly you didn’t expect that, you had no more words. Even if it has been 2 years every kiss still felt the first one. “Ewwww stop itttttttttttttttt. Some of us are still single ya know.” Jisung said. obviously we have all had those stages there isnt a celeb where someone hasnt fantasised about being with them but im generally wondering how come celebs keep being brought about if they often wind up either being really egoistical or into some weird criminal shit? western celebs are also awful cheaters (david beckham defo cheats my aunt told us some stuff, cillin murphey probably does it too yet those two imparticular are often looked at as being quite perfect individuals on the outside however ive been told that beckhams into cheating on victoria numerous times yet ppl will keep giving beckham more and more fame and attention and reasons to cheat, charles cheated on diana too yet this moronic country still wanted him as king despite the fact hes a complete a hole) i know its what people who have way too much wealth do however i fail to believe that someone can just be normal when they receive so much attention and that idols especially let it get to their heads in a certain period of their time.

i wonder tho if theres often much in group jealousy cause each group always got that one or two member that draw in fans and its not a bad thing for the group or individual member however all in all the celeb or idol still wants to be seen, praised and validated upon but its got to a point where people genuinely think they have posession of said idol or experience frequent inability to see them in a different way. i also think people are so into victimising them as if the idol didnt choose to aign their life away as well i think its quite fair to judge them how we please cause we do not know these ppl. their image often really does not help them tho either. some genuinely look like a f boy or they come across as one. i still think theres some decentish idols about but even after the whole jaeil thing u still wonder what ur fave be up too? r they like that? anyone can be nice and innocent looking at the end of the day

tbh it depends on the people's upbringing from their community (family included). i may sound like a grandmother who always says she knows a lot, but with each generation we really become more and more terrible and more terrible people. i include intimate life in general here simply because with time new things appear… in that sense of the word (i try not to speak vulgarly). with the times of television, the internet and so on, we are increasingly exposed to radiation and increasingly dulled. i even think that the governments of the united states, the united kingdom and some of the other countries seem to be deliberately interfering through celebrities and their personal lives. i have never considered such interference by third parties to be something normal, because you can ruin this celebrity, whoever she is, from head to toe. continuing with the disloyalty of some celebrities (especially for cheating), this is something we should not take as an example. children in particular do not take into account what is right and what is wrong precisely because of their fragile age. the problem here is that there should be some kind of boundary that we should set for ourselves from an early age. i even think that the news on television says intentional things just to ruin us. with k-pop groups it is difficult to determine whether there is jealousy towards someone specific or things are completely different. for the most part, the groups have no other choice but to be together, and they manage to do it. i suppose that there are isolated cases that reflect that things are radically different and there are insurmountable differences between the members of group x, and there are other cases that reflect that the friendship of a group is authentic. the difference between the west and korea (i would even say asia) is in the upbringing and value system. in the west this thing is massively missing, and in korea things are just beginning. the problem is that koreans do not tolerate the lack of intelligence and upbringing for some things. yes, we may think that some things that someone has scandals about are stupid, but generally speaking they are more educated than western countries (from turkey/russia to the left, of course, there may be exceptions; i'm not sure about the balkans, since we have turbo folk/pop-folk artists with a very typical industry, but i would include the countries from the peninsula). regarding the incident with the former nct member, it's good that it happened that everyone is gradually opening their eyes. korea has its problems too, but compared to us, when it comes to their value system and morals, i think they are better.

Just watched the behind filming for My Treasure. My heart 🥺 those boys worked so hard to film that I’m in awe tbh. Not only was the weather hot, Erwin said it was hotter than when they filmed for Lolay (plus they were near and around water for that plus a storm happened), but Nice hurt his ankle :( AND HE INSISTED THAT HE COULD STILL DANCE LIKE THREE MORE TIMES AND THE STAFF WERE LITERALLY SO KIND AND CARING IVE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE. Kitty said that he shouldn’t dance anymore cause his ankle was hurt but he wasn’t centered like he wanted to be and the staff were like “are you sure?” And they were asking if he was okay and they were like “what percent?” And Nice was like “100” and then he fell :( but the members came to him and helped him up and he looked so sad. He worked his ass of for that move that was insane. Cause he wanted to land and keep dancing and he aced it but then the second time when they filmed at night that’s when he hurt himself but lord how caring the staff were I’m impressed and touched.

Kitty herself is an amazing choreographer and she had so many good words to say about how the boys improved and everything it was so cute and wholesome. And the director was kind with them too and it was funny when interviewing the stylist he said while looking for cowboy type clothing that they could wear in the heat, he wanted leather and suede, and his inspo pics he had two pics of Johnny dressed as a cowboy I was surprised when I saw it I couldn’t stop laughing. The actress is actually an upcoming artist under xoxo entertainment tho and she was so sweet and encouraging towards them and they were kind and promoted her and just really sweet Muon is a catch constantly asking if she’s alright while she’s on the horse, what a gentleman. Every interaction the members have with the lead female role in their mvs are so cute and wholesome and respectful. It’s so refreshing to see.

As far as the styling POOM REALLY SAID IT WAS LIKE A MORE UP TO DATE AND BETTER WESTERN STYLE LIKE POOM THEM COWBOYS BACK IN THE DAY WORE ASSLESS CHAPS WHERE WERE YOURS? Lmao. He came out with leather shorts and cowboy boots. The styling I love, Tad and Erwin and Nice had such pretty bolo ties, Tad’s lace white shirt and long leather jacket looked amazing on him. I love Nice and his cute shirt with the Thunderbird on it and the lil tassels. His cute hair and his lil braids on the end of his mullet and when they joked about him being the lead female. I loved the part where Junior and Nice are filming with the horses, Fah Mai and Wanda <3 Nice was so nervous with Wanda but he was so cute with her and Fah Mai kept eating his jacket and his braids it was so cute they did so well tho I loved watching it all come together, especially it literally being Nice’s idea for the jump and then getting right back into dancing and he nailed it that was so satisfying to see.

A cute moment that I really liked, and I’d heard it before and it was great to hear the story again was Nice’s story about the scientist and the frog. I was actually surprised when he brought it up cause I hadn’t heard it since like middle school or something and it was nice (lol) to hear it again. (Tbh I didn’t think anyone else knew about it) And I saw Tad tummy! It was so cute. But it was so hot out, they were given fans and water and all that stuff, the staff really takes care of them plus they know how to make the editing funny I appreciate them. The editing staff btw reminds me of kithewhale :( anyway thank the staff and director and choreographer esp for just being great people I hope that continues and I hope nothing sus is going on behind the scenes cause they all seem so sweet and caring and I just would love that for them and would hate to find out if they were being abuse like kpop companies :(

And in the very beginning Jet was like “it’s too early to film” and Erwin comes in carrying a Husky puppy and Jet just melts it’s so cute they were so precious playing with the puppy assaying things like “are huskies’ eyes normally blue?” “Are you wearing contacts?” “He looks like you” (referring to Erwin) it was cute. I recommend watching it. The song came to a stop and the two continued to interact with stays.

Felix read out the comment as he trailed his hand further up Chan's thigh, it was now running dangerously close to his growing erection.

His voice cracked and he stuttered as Felix was now palming him through his trousers.

The sight of the elder man so desperate to come undone but trying so hard to keep what was happening a secret was turning Felix on beyond belief.

Jungwoo is walking around asking the members about their hair colours. “Oh, what is it?” Jungwoo hums pointing the camera at Taeyong. “It is strawberry milk.” Yuta answers from the side. The question earns a chuckle from the leader. “Yeah, what is this?” He muses. They then settle on calling it ‘strawberry bubblegum’.

Jungwoo is ready to put the camera down when he suddenly swings it back up and around to face JiHo, who was sitting on the ground cross-legged next to Yuta. “And what colour is this?” Jungwoo points at the younger girl’s hair which caused everyone to laugh. Her hair was clearly black, just like it has always been - besides for the times JiHo decided to do something “wild” with her hair and dye it a dark shade of brown.

JiHo tries not to laugh and brings her hand up to caress her chin as if she’s in deep thought. “Hmmm~” She hums. “Perhaps... Black?” Yuta suggests but JiHo just shakes her head eliciting another chuckle from Jungwoo. “No... I’d say it’s more like ‘void’?” JiHo cocks her head as she says the last word. “Void?” “No wait! Maybe ‘midnight sky’?”

This time she can’t help but laugh as the boys try and fail to match her seriousness. “’Midnight sky’ sounds nice.” Jungwoo and Yuta both reach their hands out simultaneously to ruffle JiHo’s hair, but she ducks away just in time and runs away. 

This was a cute moment, but AGAIN ‘Punch’ era was actually JiHo’s era. Like she looked so good and I think that’s when I fell in love with her 😭😭

While the members are caught up in their own conversations and talking to the fans, JiHo had pushed herself back against the couch nestling herself comfortably with Jisung’s legs on either side of her body. He laughs and turns to look at JiHo who was still in the same “death” position. “What are you doing?” Renjun inquires and the other boys turn to look at JiHo as well. “Jisung killed me.” The girl mumbles. Jisung laughs before adding, “Don’t worry about JiHo noona. She’s acting a bit weird right now, but it’s completely normal.” Jisung’s face sports the brightest grin as JiHo’s head shoots up to send him a glare.

“I think we spoke too soon.” Johnny sighs, but quickly follows a chuckle. “Those two love each other, but they are too embarrassed to show everyone.” Taeyong points the camera back on his face. “Please understand Czennie.” He shows a tight-lipped smile.

If you told me Doyoung and JiHo were actual siblings, I would’ve believe you. My brother and I are exactly like this, minus the sweet moments that DoHo do share...

I’m sorry this one is a bit shorter again, next time I’ll try to make it longer and include WayV as well. It’s just that we don’t have a lot of JiHo x WayV moments on camera in general :(((

Short(er) Remus Rights. One of the big things I dislike about a lot of people within any fandom is how much they can sometimes gatekeep different interpretations of characters. Remus and Sirius get a lot of this - there are interpretations of their characters that the majority of the fandom has decided to agree on, and anything outside of that is somehow wrong. For me, Remus is the hardest, because my interpretation is at times the exact opposite of what the fandom seems to have agreed on. I won't go into too much detail here, but one of my points is that I imagine Remus as shorter and smaller than Sirius. A lot of people will come for your next if you don't think that Remus is like seven feet tall or something ridiculous. Overall, Hazel's Remus has always lined up a lot with my interpretation of him. It's just nice to see Remus written and described in a way that I also imagine him in my head. (I may make another post explaining myself more in depth on this one...)

Use of French, and Hockey Accuracy. When reading Sweater Weather, I would be constantly translating the French that is used by multiple characters in the story, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the use of the language seemed to be a lot more accurate and genuine than a simple google translate plug (which... No hate, I've been there.) It made me wonder if Hazel actually knows French? At least a little? Also the descriptions of Hockey both on and off the ice feel really real and accurate, especially after I finished the story and started to look more into Hockey (because I'm probably on my way to becoming a Hockey fan now) and was ecstatic to find a lot of the things being discussed in the story also being discussed in real hockey clips and videos. This is most likely due to Hazel being a Hockey fan and actually understanding the sport instead of just fudging it. (Which again, I would be guilty of.)

Healthy Polyamorous Relationship(s). I have very rarely read anything with a polyamorous relationship. Period. But when I do I have that awful monogomous-normative voice in the back of my head that tells me which two are "actually in love" and which one is "the third wheel" and I definitely don't have that awful voice regarding the real life polyamorous relationships I've seen. Hazel does a wonderful job at developing every interpersonal relationship with O'Knutzy as well as how they all work together. (And O'Darwin is new to me, but I already love it so, so much)

Varying Relationship Lengths. There are relationships of varying shapes and sizes. Some take years to say "I love you" while others are engaged less than two years after getting together. I think it's easy to forget nowadays that you don't need to be dating for years before getting married and starting a family - and it doesn't need to be in that order.

That Hurt/Comfort tho. Hurt/Comfort is may favorite genre perhaps ever. And in Hockey there is a lot of hurt, so it makes sense to be followed up by a lot of comfort. It's perfect. *chef's kiss*

Feeling Things With The Characters. In almost every scene I could feel how each character felt and kind of get a sense of what's going on in their heads. There were times in these works where I could really feel that longing or loneliness or pain or sadness. I don't get to feel that intensely that often when reading fanfiction, and these fics make me feel all the things.

These are just a few of the broader themes I enjoyed while reading Sweater Weather.

TOP FIVE FAVORITE SCENES:

The All Stars Game (AKA all of Chapter 15) I loved this chapter, because it captures the entire arc of the pain Remus and Sirius feel after being outed, the steps they take to actually talk about it and talk to eachother again and get through it together, to once again being on the same page, and rooting for and protecting eachother more fiercely than ever. I loved the team members coming over to be with Remus and watch the game, I loved Remus's past coming to light, I loved Sirius punching Greyback in the face, Regulus being rescued. I even loved hearing the terrible things the press had to say, because I love that kind of drama it gets me so worked up (... In works of fiction. In real life that stuff would make me very, very angry.)

Remus Talking to Logan (Chapter 13) I love this scene because it really shows basically every side of the O'Knutzy drama, and because I could really feel Logan's pain and panic in this scene. I loved how soft and kind Remus was in trying to talk to Logan about it, at the same time trying to keep him calm. I loved Finn walking in and seeing that Logan was hurting and immediately wanting to fix it, nearly ready to fight Remus, who was getting in his way. And I love the final part, where Remus suggests Logan tell 'them' he loves them, all the while promising himself he would tell Sirius the same thing. I think this scene is the perfect crossover point between Coast to Coast and Sweater Weather, and progresses both storylines flawlessly.

Family Skate (Chapter 12) I think it's hat I liked most about this scene was the Team learning not only that Remus used to play, but just how good he was, and still is. I loved how shocked they are, and the foreshadowing when Arthur asks Remus if he has any tapes. I really like the somber tone around Remus's injury, and how tragic it is, and the team can really understand that. It also sets the time for just how much this injury is affecting Remus even to this day. Aside from all that serious stuff, seeing the Team with little kids is also super cute. And James finding out about the necklace.

The Game Against Vegas (Chapter 16) I liked this scene a lot because you can really feel how much the team wants to avenge Remus. I liked the tense interactions between Remus and Greyback, especially the part where Remus said "you're not my teammate". One of my favorite moments is at the end of this chapter when Remus is spiraling in a gas station parking lot, and all of his old superstitions are coming back to him. The Angst Levels are astronomical.

Leo and Finn Like Eachother (Coast to Coast, Chapter 4) I honestly loved this scene so much, the emotional roller coaster Leo went through, the hesitance surrounding the whole "all three of us" question. The pain Leo feels when he thinks the kiss was only out of confusion, and that Finn only loved Logan. The relief he feels when Finn says he likes him. It's just a master piece. (Honorable mention for when all three of them get together in the next chapter: it was such a close tie.)

All in all, Sweater Weather is such a good read, and I love that I'm still immersed even after I've read the fic so many times. I'm going to keep following Vaincre, and I have a lot of ficlets planned out for this universe, coming soon.

Lots of love and praise to Hazel, who wrote not only such a good story, but wonderful characters (both Harry Potter, and original) as well.

Apink will be having a comeback with complete members. I'm happy that these girls are proving that even though they're in different company, they can still have comeback with complete members (if there's a will, there's a way indeed)

On the other hand, I'm jealous. I always think, if they can do it, why bipo can't? It just proves me that they're no longer in good terms. Well, not surprising with Apink tho since their company even gave naeun a farewell party (WM didn't LOL) and she's even in their season's greetings. That alone speaks a lot.

I've actually long accepted our situation and doesn't really care much at all anymore but sometimes, I really just hope that they didn't give us "false hope" statements in the first place and just ended it truthfully, at least with that we'll not be confused at all and would have peace of mind. It's a mess, I even question if they're really good friends in real life before or just "colleagues" acting up as friends/brothers for fans.

Aw, that’s nice for APink. I have a soft spot for all the groups that debuted around 2010-2014 so it’s nice to see they still can get together for a comeback. Hopefully everything with Chorong is all sorted out.

I feel that regarding bipo, they were truly very close; non-fans and people working in the industry alike would comment on how genuine their bond seemed. And I know I mentioned it before, but I’ll say again, I just think as time passed things happened that slowly weakened their bond. Moving out of their dorms was probably one of the initial catalysts, leading to no more weekly meetings where they would have normally discussed their feelings, furthering a reduction in just overall communication. Then from there, I feel it just started to dissolve a bit (probably without them even realizing at the time) with external conflicts which I won’t go into at this point lol. All the stuff we already know.

But yeah, at this point whatever their relationship was, clearly is no longer the same. All we can do is hope with time, perhaps things will mend between them.

FRUITS BASKET S3 EPISODE 1 + 2 RECAP!

Yayyy! Season 3! Finally! I’m hoping this season will make me understand/sympathise with Akito and maybe even Shigure a little bit more because... honestly? My opinions on episode 2?... I might get some flack for my opinions on them...  😬

But, first: I’d like to appreciate how on the Funimation app we got a little interview/message from a few of the english dub VAs! Specifically Colleen Clinkenbeard, Jerry Jewell, Eric Vale, Ian Sinclair and Brina Palencia (Akito, Kyo, Yuki, Kureno and Isuzu). And it was nice seeing some of their opinions of the characters they play and how much they’re emotionally invested in the story. (Ian’s such a nerd ‘I wanna see giant mechs later this season’ 😂 - I lowkey stan him lol)

You should definitely check it out if you’re interested in what they would have to say!

ANYWAYS, let’s get into it...

EPISODE 1

I really love this depiction of the original zodiac and how you can just tell from the tone of the scene how desperately the God of the Zodiac was clinging on to these connections that they had with the participants in the banquet. How much they clung on to and loved the cat... Also, interesting how Tohru’s narrating this scene... almost like she can relate to the desperation of wanting to keep things the same... but we’ll get to that later. But also, Tohru is a God

This new opening is beautiful, I love the way that camera moves around the still illustrations and how the general tone just hammers down that... this season is gonna be some real shit lol (which makes me nervous for the opening for the second half 😳). It’s so warped and the general blue, grey and black tone that follows around every Akito scene we get in the anime has bled into every scene in this opening concerning the rest of the zodiac. Almost... like something is decaying. It’s great, it’s just very sad lol. I love the song tho, issa bop.

One of my favourite things in stories is when we get a bigger villain than the ‘pronounced’ villain of the story. Ren’s introduction through a manicured outstretched hand towards Kureno and Hatori is so weirdly gross in what it insinuates (especially when you apply her connection with Shigure) but again... I wanna know why she’s such an asshole to Akito specifically besides the bad mental health management within the Sohma compound. I have an inkling of what it is through memory of the manga, but like Akito and Shigure... I just wanna understand why.

Also, Ren is gorgeous and I’m sorry for simping. 

I mean... she’s kinda got a point? She just didn’t need to be so mean about it lol. It’s pretty clear that the connection the zodiac have to each other is real and something they cannot control. BUT, wouldn’t it be easier if this connection wasn’t perpetuated by outer circles of the family and if Akito herself wasn’t so cruel about it? But, I guess Akito - through her relationship with her mother - kinda doesn’t know how to genuinely show love and affection. (Which brings me into my thoughts of how the manga ends and how I kinda... have a few problems with it which I will get to... when that comes lol)

Lol - weeeeeeeee! (flashes back to Tohru being yeeted into the river). Is this a part of Akito’s god-like powers?!

Again. She’s got a point! They’ve both got a point. But, they’re both the source of the problem. It’s really painful to see two mentally ill people duke it out. This whole institution is just rotten.

- I am super curious about what Akira’s relationship was like with the zodiac and if it was just as dark. I’m gonna assume it slightly already was, as the exclusion and degradation of the cat curse is already dark in itself but maybe the rest of the zodiac were just fine with how things were? I dunno if we actually will get the full backstory of Akira and his zodiac but I’m definitely intrigued

Ok, but if four crying children came up to me after I’d just consummated with my partner to reach out at my stomach chanting ‘we’ve been waiting for you’. That would disturb me and scar me for a while too so... 😂. I know it’s supposed to be ethereal and spiritual but... dude, wtf lol

...I don’t like how much I’m into Ren being such a Villain™  😅

- Akito being seen as a crying child by the older zodiac members has always been interesting to me because yes, they could see her as that through mainly the age gap, general empathy and the way she sometimes irrationally acts out. But, also the depiction of Gods being seen as children having tantrums has being reflected in many different beliefs and myths (especially Greek Mythology) and I just like the fact that this all powerful, all knowing being would be compared to a child. It gives you a different perspective on power.

- Is the paper note in the CD case that Kureno gave back to Tohru an extra addition or was it always there?...

Hana’s just like ‘hmm... sounds like someone I know... 👀’ I’m here for this parallel between Tohru and Kureno in the hopes that Tohru doesn’t ever get in as bad a situation as Kureno. Ahhh... Kureno... (Also, Laura Bailey was killing it in this scene as always)

- Hmmm... there’s something terribly poetic about Kyo saving Tohru’s scarf from oncoming traffic... but also, Kyo can’t help himself aha

KWEEEN! I love this look for Uo, it’s very Kyoko. I already said this in Season 1 but I STILL need to get wool-lined jacket. Outfit Appreciation goes to her - 3.5 stars.

<3<3<3 Friendship is magic!

- Megumi is such a good egg as always! From him going to get Uo to him being so wise with his outlook on love and how it takes time to really flourish. The best!

- This whole episode ends really nicely from Tohru’s return home and Kyo washing and returning Tohru’s scarf and Yuki being happy to see Tohru and Shigure being somewhat decent. It was nice to get a bit of relief after the tornado of emotions

This scene really highlighted how Tohru is starting to see Shigure and the whole zodiac curse in a new and darker way. For the first time, it felt like Tohru was a little bit more guarded around Shigure and I hope they delve more into this season. Her description of her feeling around the curse being like a ‘dark well with no bottom in sight’ is pretty spot on. Ugh.

Aw! Is this the last we’re getting of Small!Momiji?! I love them :3 (Momiji’s shorts look a little shorter too, like he’s growing out of them ahaha)

- I haven’t found the Yuki fan club funny since their first scene in the anime but their poor disguises made me chuckle

- Yayyy! Kyo has an obsessive fan club too? ...Yay?? 😅 haha

- ‘I won’t kill them but they can go to hell’ why is Kyo speaking like me?! 😂

The fact that we got a scene of Yuki kinda admirably looking at a group of friends (boys and girls) playfully physically interacting and he unconsciously reaches out to Machi almost like he forgot about the curse? Heart eyes... 🥰

Again. Relatable. 😂 God, Yuki. You really are an airhead. Bless your soul. <3

And that look says it all. Damn. Kyo’s sense of hopelessness is heartbreaking but I still stand by it being understandable considering his circumstances.

Kyo freaking out about Tohru being visually upset was super cute but I couldn’t even appreciate the fluff because the whole scene had such a morbid tone to it, despite it being so visually romantic:

- Poor Mitsuru, I’d ask for extra pay just for dealing with Shigure’s ass.

- Now that Shigure’s ‘true form’, so to speak, has been fully exposed all his comments that are supposed to be teasing come off so much more awful. Him insinuating Mitsuru wasn’t ‘upper class’ enough for Ritsu was awful

COLLLDDDD. AS. IIIIIIICE. But seriously, Shigure this whole episode was cold in many different ways but I definitely felt this personally since I’ve been told something like this by a family member before... 😕 Also, it’s just gross how both Shigure and Akito are taking their own personal issues and mistrust of each other out on to other people. The curse and the institution behind the curse complicates a lot of feelings for sure, but there’s a difference between wrong and right and I get the general feeling that they both are just using the muddy waters to their advantage. Although, I feel like Shigure is taking more advantage of this than Akito but I’ll get into that in a bit.

- There’s also something about this episode that made me sympathise a lot more with Kureno in a more understandable way. But, it also makes me question the ending of this whole story and the resolutions that happen and what life for the whole Sohma institution/family looks like after the curse has broken.. I guess, I should read ‘Fruits Basket Another’ after this, huh?

😳... Shigure is so petty, man. Really?!

So...

I hate this relationship. I’m sorry. I know there are loads of people who like this relationship. And I’m still giving myself space for the show and the story to convince me why it’s worth it. But... I really don’t like this relationship. It’s so toxic. In so many ways. And in a weird way, this scene made me feel a LITTLE bit more for Akito than Shigure. It feels like Shigure gaslights everyone in his life but none no more than Akito, herself. I hate the fact that he keeps saying he loves her while hurting her or disregarding her. You know, almost like he’s treating her like a child. But on the other hand, I hate the fact that Akito has lowkey gaslighted herself into thinking she can treat people however she wants because she is ‘God’. I understand this is part of the way she was brought up and it seems like life in the Sohma compound has been very isolating for her so there’s been no one really to show her better (or have the confidence to show her better). But, at least I can be a little bit more sympathetic on her side than Shigure’s. I dunno... it’s just all very ugly and toxic and I’m hoping that it’ll turn around somehow.

I just hope it’s not one of those relationships that are ‘so good cos it’s so bad’.

...I’ll briefly talk about the ending theme to end this on a good note lol:

I really like this ending! I dunno if they’re gonna have two endings and two openings for this season but this ending definitely feels like it should’ve gone in the second half as it’s almost spoiler-y? But, then again what anime opening and ending isn’t packed with spoilers lol

All the illustrations are gorgeous, I’m assuming they were drawn by Takaya-sensei herself as it seems very much in her current style of artistry but my favourite illustrations are definitely the ones shown above! <3

yes, no one asked for my opinions, yes I will give them anyway, yes because I have decided making a bunch of meaningless decisions and arguing for them will improve my mental state, yes I watched the show all in one very sleep deprived go and i’m not interested in rewatching it so yes I have absolutely no sources, yes this is a really long grammatical nightmare because I don’ t know how to be succinct and i use way more words than necessary at any opportunity because if my point doesn’ t come across exactly like i intend it will greatly upset me, no I have not yet watched Korra or read the comics because i’m tired now let’s do this.

from 0 I despise people who ship this immediately to 10 I will read absolutely anything with this, I love it and could draw it for hours on how much I think the relationship would be good and how happy it makes me

haters say katara was just the avatar’s trophy girl, as if aang didnt kiss the ground she walked on and wouldnt stop telling anyone how amazing she is. Katara was the first face he saw from the new world and they immediately became friends. she was so excited to meet another bender, he clearly is trying to impress her and it is working, he listens to her about bending and offers to take her to the other side of the world to master water, TELL ME at this moment she is not ride or die and she doesn’t even know he’s the avatar, he lets her feel like a kid again, which is a feeling she’s forgotten after years of being a mother to sokka and the children. he literally sweeps her off her feet to save her from the fire nations ship i-. rewatched boy in the iceberg and hoo boy had canon not messed it up, this ship could have been legendary

hard to imagine older them working out what with the whole last airbender, preserve air nomad culture, let’s travel the world bc nomadic lifestyle, what’s marriage i’m a monk without biological family values vs last southern waterbender, preserve southern water tribe culture, I believe in the power of family and am ridiculously dedicated to my tribe,  let me go home to my father and tribe shtick, but I don’t care for after the show finishes much except for following the gang fix the world so I don’t really care about the marriage issue

canon was good until that Mess in season 3, WHY did he kiss her after that speech, wish they talked that out properly, wish he learned letting go of her to open the 7th chakra was the only right decision, wish the ending was a little more vague in ships and just left things open but yk whatever

that finale kiss was sweet, they hugged foremost as friends, no blushing, and then got the fuzzies, that moment standing alone? a+ but without any talking about what happened on ember island, a little unsatisfying

overall, fine ship, not my favourite nor do I actively ship it, but I see a kataang moment, i’m like, sweet so I give it a 6

Zutara (apparently fans are zutarians which looks like an alien race, plus points)

latter half of the show had quite a lot of Zutara potential, but idk about Zutara actual

katara was so ready to drop his ass, no way at the start

there is only one dynamic between them in which I can see Zutara working and that is as in the Stalking Zuko by emletish series where katara is so distrusting over zuko she takes to stalking him to make sure he isn’t doing anything to hurt Aang or about to betray them (her) again but he is just such a sweet dork who keeps trying to apologise to her even while she’s apologising to him for being a bitch that she can’t help but start to trust him, i’m a third into the third book in the series not stalking firelord zuko and I am thriving and tbh this is the only situation where I accept zutara, read the series I love it

age gap is weird, I know it’s the same difference between kataang but they made a point of zuko being older in the show also he’s so much taller and I don’t like 16 year old boys with 14 year old girlfriends in real life and so would katara because jet

katara has a bad experience with bad boy sword weilders (jet) but I guess you could see it as the start of her type idk

they are both the moms of the Gaang. sokka is the fun dad.

there is a parallel between their families, with the leader of their people dad, mom who left the picture when they were young, an older brother who is not a prodigy at/can’ t bend their respective element so they become proficient at swords instead, prodigy at bending younger sister with a violent streak. this is why I see zutara as potentially a really close friendship, almost siblings, but not a romance because to me katara is a little too like azula for comfort...

tbh I think a lot of folk shipped it because ooh fire boy and water girl (not the game) that’ s perfect, and bam army of zutarians

overall, kind of weird but ok and good grounds for humour so I give it a 4

Jetkara (bad ship name, why would you like this, minus points)

Jet is bad. yes Katara really liked him, yes he was definitely her first kiss and she would definitely consider him her first boyfriend but they would not define it because it’s easier to manipulate someone when it’s unclear what your relationship is and Jet is bad, with his weird fricking eyebrows and not even real swords those hook swords

Jinko (cool name, reminds me of Hong Jinkyung, plus points) 

short but so sweet. not the first thing people remember from watching the tales of ba sing se (brb going to rewatch and cry) but really cute, so here’s a running commentary

his first thought was she knew they were fire nation rather than a pretty girl sat in a teashop giving him looks because she had a crush omg

that honest surprise when his uncle suggested she liked her and then she walked up and asked him on a date, adorable

anyone who looked at that god-awful hairstyle and still thought he looked cute has it bad also aww that hair ruffle and the little grab onto his arm

he’s pushing his food around and she’s trying out ice breaker questions and recieving one word responses he has no idea what he’s doing

“she is not my GIRLFRIEND” he’s not over Mai, clearly but he still is trying his best to be a good date even if he’s terrible at making conversation

anyone who sat through that date and the bad lying and the stilted conversation and still thought he was cute has it bad 

he is So Bad At Lying he just told the truth very vaguely and then bam travelling circus

jin so knows the two are fire nation, the whole date she just politely ignores the clear lies and doesn’t react to the obvious firebending, what an icon we love jin

honestly I was really expecting the show to reveal that jin knew he was a firebender if not from the start then from the lights but eh I guess she can keep a secret, good for her

HE KISSED HER BACK BEFORE REALISING A RELATIONSHIP COULD NEVER GO WELL AND HE MAY HAVE ANGSTILY STORMED OFF BUT HE ADMITTED IT WAS A NICE TIME TO HIS UNCLE

that being said I can’t see anything more happening but this date but omg imagine fire lord zuko coming back to visit and they become friends I-

overwhelming support for pre-date jin flirting to an oblivious zuko and the date Jinko, 8

Maiko (name would be a good name for a cat idk why)

childhood sweethearts before the banishment i think

she crushed because he saved her hair from getting burnt by tackling her into a fountain? adorable

I love mai she’s so funny but I think not the best match for zuko? he has a lot of trauma to get over and she doesn’t seem like the let all your feelings out and let’s talk about it until you feel better kind of person.  it was deeply ingrained in her to keep all of her feelings and emotions strongly hidden because she got what she wanted from her politician parents so long as she was quiet, well-mannered, and perfectly behaved according to avatar wiki so I get why she’s that way, until I was 11 I was that way too all the time, I understand freezing your face so you don’t look afraid or upset or angry and risk annoying adults, but I don’t think that that would fit zuko with his social ineptness

they literally broke up twice but are just assumed back together? she just surprised him and said they were back together and I think he forgot she existed

the deadpan firelady and the fire lord would be hilarious together tho she got the ruthlessness he lacks

post coronation I can see it happening, 6 but under Kataang

Sukka (terrible name lmao)

the cutest, sokka very excitedly says “Suki!! :DDD” every time he sees her

she didn’t give him the time of day until HE changed, incredible

just the best canon ship, the two nonbenders in the Gaang but very clearly shown to be important key members.

suki is sneaky and badass, rivalling zuko for position on the team as the sneaky badass one (they tie and bond over being sneaky and badass)

sokka is a great dad, he is the dad of the Gaang and he clearly loves suki and suki loves him back

sokka ships are ELITE, 9

Taang (a delicious orange drink mix that reminds me of home, nostalgia)

foreshadowing from the swamp where someone aang loved in the future really made me think taang was endgame yk

opposite elements ideology that I guess is what zutarians like also leaves everyone in the gang dating a Gaang member if zutara happens

actually the same age but not much else going for it

best friends, 4 but under Zutara

Tokka (great name of a small pet fight me)

sokka ships are elite, childhood crush turned adult strong friendship

I really like seeing the rough, tough, greatest earthbender in  the world have a crush, adorable

sokka is a great friend and his and toph’s canon relationship is so sweet, I wouldn’t change it

toph was fully going to give sokka a kiss on the cheek for saving her life i’m melting

age difference is too weird for a romance he’s like 16 or 17 by the end I think and she’s 12

best friends, 10 as a relationship in the show, 2, but in their 20s after the show... 4 but under Taang

Toko (very forgettable name but both characters have 4 letters so I guess it’s hard to come up with something memorable but every time I read it as Toph because same shape ish so minus points for being annoying)

toph first accepted zuko despite him burning her feet, how she sees, which was big and they resolved problems between them quickly

toph clinging to his arm and asking for a life changing field trip caused him to blush, but I see that as him being like oh someone wants to spend time with me?? she’s hugging me??? what is this 

convenient ship for kataangers because the Gaang could be paired off as Kataang, Sukka, Toko

her crush on sokka seemed to go away or calm down when he showed up and she punched him and teased him a lot, her way of bonding

similar strict teaching styles and bonding over secret identities as Blue Spirit and Blind Bandit and parental issues and being the children of important families who made them run away to enjoy not having anything to do with politics and being nobility with impaired vision who have never stepped into a kitchen in their lives and being used to servants and then being on the run

I really see them as siblings with her helping him relax from his duties as fire lord because you already know this boy’s sense of honour is going to make him work tirelessly to fix the world and him helping her relax from the whole i’m not a fragile, weak little blind girl, i’m the greatest earthbender in the world shtick and reminding her she can be both a blind 12 year old girl and the most powerful earthbender in the world, she can accept help without being weak or lesser than anyone, people want to help because they care not that they pity you

Ty Lokka (I don’t like this name looks like a place but can think of nothing better)

yeah I guess ty lee’s obvious flirting is grounds for a ship but in every interaction he’s involved with someone else and doesn’t seem to like her as a person

Tyzula (don’t like this name, like a mineral water?)

azula’s only genuine apology goes to ty lee after hurting her feelings

Azula clearly loves ty lee, her betrayal sends her mad

after a lot of therapy for azula and apologies, maybe a healthy relationship could form after the show, 8 above Jinko

Yukka (looks like a childish insult, surely someone could have thought of a better name)

Sokka’s love for Yue stays with him for the rest of his life, she was the first person to die in front of him and he sees the moon as her facing the earth

love this forbidden lovers content, sokka ships stay elite

Sokka and Yue spend as much time together as possible with secret midnight dates flirting (“you wanna do an...activity together?”)  Sokka’s reaction to Yue’s engagement shows that he wants to have a serious relationship with her, and also he thinks Hahn is a bad person for Yue, which he is. 

Yue dying devastated him and he never falls out of love with Yue. her last words “[she] will always be with him” are true. swamp visions show Yue as one of the most important people in his life like a season or so after he last saw her. he wouldn’t kiss suki in front of the moon, and cries when Yue appears on stage, ignoring Suki. he talks about the moon as if it is directly Princess Yue in that cactus juice scene.

she died in his arms oh my god don’t look i crying, he feels personally responsible and guilty

yue was great even though she was the indigenous or black girl with light hair and eyes character and I wish she could have helped aang in the spirit world
