genuine question but why is being poly and ace a head spin for you? i'm not poly so i'm not 100% sure how it works but doesn't the word just refer to relationship preferences? whereas asexuality is more about sexual attraction, so they're not mutually exclusive. at least to my understanding. not trying to start any discourse, i'm just curious.

I guess it’s because maybe I do instantly sexualise polyamory (which is a fault of my own that I need to study tbh 🙃)

But also, in my experience being ace and exploring how ace I am and how I navigate romantic (and on the rare occasion, sexual) relationships, it’s hard enough just figuring out building a genuine connection and mutual understanding with one person let alone multiple.

And in this specific experience with the polyam ace guy I met, it genuinely felt like he just didn’t know how to navigate having multiple relationships in a healthy way where everyone is happy and looked after. I dunno if being ace had anything to do with it, but I think he was still figuring things out for himself to really commit himself to others like that.

But, who knows, maybe shit worked out for him. I just didn’t feel comfortable to join his polycule where things felt very… dishonest lol
