The Good We Do (Comes Back Around)

Hi everyone ♡

The Love of My Afterlife Server invites you to participate in The Good We Do (Comes Back Around). This is a fundraiser to support survivors of domestic violence. In light of recent events, our goal is to raise funds for the organizations womenslaw.org and wave-network.org. Both are organizations with broad reach that connect DV survivors with shelter and legal resources. We would like to offer you a fan work of your choice if you donate! Here are the guidelines:

Hi! I'm participating in The Good We Do fundraiser project for victims of domestic violence in the Dead Boy Detectives fandom as a video editor and I have 3 commission slots open.

The way this works is: message me with a song and an idea of what you want then, after we've agreed on the commission, donate to one of the charities listed by the project and send me the receipt. And I will make a song edit for you!

Hello! I, like many others, will be offering commission slots via the Love of My Afterlife Server’s The Good We Do event. I'm offering three slots!

Love of My Afterlife's The Good We Do Event

Hello all! I will be offering two fic commissions for Dead Boy Detectives as well as Britpicking via the Love of My Afterlife Server’s The Good We Do event.

The fics will be in exchange for donations made by supporters to either WAVE (Women Against Violence Europe) or Women’s Law. Both of these organisations work to support and initiate change for everyone impacted by Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence.

Commission information

$25 to either organisation: Cheers! I’ll write you a fic that up to 3,000 words in length based on the character or a ship of your choice and a keyword. Fic rating up to Teen.

$50 to either organisation: An even bigger cheers! Give me a character or a ship of choice, and a prompt. I will write at least 5,000 words based on your idea. Fic rating up to Teen.

$75 to either organisation: The biggest cheers to you! This tier includes NSFT/Explicit content if you would like. If you aren't into NSFT, you can use a general prompt. I will write at least 7,000 words based on your ideas.

$100 to either organisation: You are a diamond! I will write a 9,000 word fic from a prompt of your choice. Prompts can be NSFT or not.

Britpicking for fics also available on request. Send me a DM with the length of your fic and any specific questions and I'll be happy to give you a quote. This offer can include media other than Dead Boy Detectives.

I'm British with sound knowledge of queer UK history from the Victorian period to present. World War One and (sub)cultures of the 1980s in Britain are also specific interests of mine.

Work will commence once I am sent proof of donation, e.g. a screenshot of your donation receipt email.

Green: I love these! Any gen/case fic, character studies for any DBD character, Payneland, Palasaki. General NSFW.

Amber: Have a chat with me about your vision for these. Ghostcat, Catland, Catwin, dubious consent (sex pollen, omegaverse etc), kink.

I will draw any individual character, and as far as shipping goes I can of course offer Payneland (I am sorry but I am soft and cannot bring myself to pair Charles and Edwin with anyone except one another), as well as most other ships that do not involve the two of them (Catcrow, Palasaki, hell if you want me to put The Night Nurse and Esther in a situation I’ll absolutely give it a go!).

I am also willing to include nudity, gore, and some degree of nsft. 🤍

I'm so glad you're here. ♡ This is a cause that is near and dear to many of us in the Love of My Afterlife Server. DV (or IPV) is something that no one should ever have to face. Sadly, statics say that one in three of us will have a story to share. I am glad that we are uplifting womenslaw.org and wave-network.org, because they help individuals find shelter and legal representation when they are in need.

If you'd like to participate in our event and receive fan fiction from me, I am so honored! Here is what I have to offer:

$25 to either organization: Thank you so much! I would love to write you a fic that is up to 2,000 words. Give me a character or a ship of choice and one focus word. I will put the blorbos in a situation for you. ♡

$50 to either organization: Thank you so very much! Give me a character or a ship of choice, and a prompt that you create. I will write 4,000 words with your idea.

$75 to either organization: Thank you for your generosity! You've unlocked the NSFT option. If you aren't into NSFT, that is okay too- you may use a general prompt. I will write a 6,000 word fic from your prompt. ♡

$100 to either organization: Thank you so many times over! You are amazing. I will write a 8,000 word fic from a prompt of your choice. Prompts can be NSFT or not.

Will Write: Romance, Suspense, Subtle Horror, Hurt Comfort, Case Fics, Gen Fic, Most Kink (I am pretty open minded, but there are a few things I just can't write for). Have something else in mind? Ask away so long as it is not on the "won't" list. Let's talk!

Won't Write: Payneland is a bonded pair for me, so I won't separate them in my work. Sorry ♡ I am not particularly well versed in writing gore. I also do not offer whump/torture sequences. I hope this doesn't need to be said, but please do not ask me to write hate speech.

Women’s Law (a project of the National Network to End Domestic Violence - NNEDV) and WAVE - Women Against Violence Europe are two organizations doing incredibly important work to support individuals who are or have experienced domestic or intimate partner violence.
