The whale opinions and spoilers I'm pretty sure has been said before but im not gonna look due to fear of finding thin$po blogs

To start I bounce between 220 and 230 so I'm not "fat fat" but im still overweight, and I have fat loved ones that I'm still listening to their experience experience

Casper didn't watch it with me because he was afraid it'd be triggering- and I'd say it would be.

Everything is shot inside the main characters apartment, Charlie. The main thing I want to point out is how people treated Charlie. He's towering tall and roughly 500+ lbs. He constantly apologized just for existing in his own space, to the point his nurse and friend, named Liz, kept getting onto Charlie for saying "Im Sorry" so much. He constantly shrinks back, and let people yell at him, going as far as blatantly calling him "Disgusting," from his daughter to a Christian missionary who was trying to "save his soul" because his body was basically damned. The fatphobia that he experiences in his own apartment was abhorrent, but that's what fat people experience on a daily basis. And Charlie claims he's never been skinny a day in his life.

Charlie was what's called being passively suicidal. He "let himself go," for example, by ordering 2 large pizzas per night just as dinner. When he was feeling any void or fed up with peoples fakeness, he would binge eat to the point of vomiting. Even after he was told he would not survive the weekend unless he went to the hospital, despite ending up having the money to do so, but he also outright refused most medical care (except a wheelchair, then an oxygen mask on his final day). Instead, he filled the hole by binge eating.

He did this because he lost the love of his life. He found out he was gay and got a divorce from his wife, who took full custody of their daughter despite his protests of still wanting to be in their life. The wife's excuse was "Do you know how hard it is to tell people you left me for a man?" The boyfriends name was Alan, who had killed himself due to religious trauma for being gay. And the missionary I mentioned earlier? He told Charlie that his soul could still be saved if he forsakes the love he still had for Alan in order for his body to become light and reach the kingdom of heaven. Which, Charlie stood his ground in remaining faithful to Alan in which the missionary calls him disgusting and leaves to return to his hometown (he has a backstory to leaving his hometown and going on mission work but, I couldn't care less to relay it).

So tack on homophobia along with fatphobia.

His daughter was chaotic, and was a mess because of her mom insisting she's pure evil; going as far as showing Charlie her distasteful Facebook post about how "there's going to be a greasefire in hell when he burns". But Charlie only saw the positive in her, and even held onto her essay about Moby Dick she wrote in 8th grade because he believed it to be the most beautiful essay he's ever read (which, says a lot because he's also a history teacher doing online collage courses with his camera off to save continuous ridicule until his final day where he asked everyone to write something true, which prompted himself to be honest with them as well). Every time Charlie thought he was going to die (due to cardiac issues with being overweight) he would either try to read it or ask to be read in his final moments. But you don't know who's essay it was until the very end (or, supposed to not know).

Which, he gets what he wanted. He finally got to spend some time with his daughter (although she fought him every step of the way), he loads her up with the $120,000 he saved for her the entire time he wasn't allowed to talk to her, and she read him the essay in his final moments breathing.

I'm putting it blunt because the ending still makes me cry, but yeah he dies.

I'm writing this because I'm off my meds and it's still making me cry. 8 hours, and 3 extra movies later. It's truly tragic, devastating, soul crushing, and sorrowful. My man Charlie is getting fucked in every way possible and he still only saw the good in people no matter how ugly they were with him.

eddie: *whispers to hen* he's perfect for him

buck: yeah! port and starboard have even started teaching other orcas to do the same! so far port and starboards record of how many sharks killed in a day is seventeen!

tommy: oh my god, that's insane baby, what else have port and starboard done?

buck: well they also hunt copper sharks and some fish, they even chased the great whites away from africa for seven weeks! but this isn't even the first time orcas have done something like this, in the early 1900's there was this orca called old tom who would help whalers hunt baleen whales, he even tugged the boats into the right position to get the whales, this happened in the port of eden new south whales in australia, you can actually go and see old tom's skeleton in eden killer whale meuseum, and on his teeth you can see marks from where he would pull the roaps! and old tom even has missing teeth because the whalers had this thing called "law of tounge" where they would strap the dead whales down so old tom and his pod could eat the lips and tongues, on the night where he lost his teeth logan, one of the davidson whaler friends tried to bring the whale in instead of pinning it down for old tom to eat, and old tom was pissed and tried to stop him, and he lost teeth, old tom died from starvation, when old tom died they thought he was 35, but the davidson family swore old tom helped three generations of their family with whaling, old tom was actually in his 90's when he died, they called old toms pod the killers of eden which-

I know I'm already saying how much I love this new issue but just. This scene is sooo good. Instead of dismissing Earth as disgusting and not worth living on, even the decepticons are absolutely stunned by how beautiful the planet is. Not only is it amazing, but after countless years of war and death, finding a planet so filled with life and wonder must be a breath of fresh air, something so new and amazing to explore. Despite their admiration for earth's contents, this doesn't change Shockwave's mind about bleeding Earth dry. In fact, it only enforces it, with this beauty going towards a cause as equally beautiful in his eye

I think it is important to remember, when sifting through lore for facts and fic reasons, that the memories of Solas' regrets we see in the Lighthouse are not going to be the Exact Truth about what happened during these events.

This is how HE remembers those things happening. And memories are not always reliable narrators. In DAI, Solas gives us the example of the memories he witnessed at Ostagar, about Loghain as both the power-mad villain, and the veteran commander trying to save his troops from needless death. And they are both true for the people who lived those experiences. But they don't tell you what ACTUALLY happened.

Solas is dragging around thousands of years worth of regrets and mistakes. He focuses a lot of blame on himself, even beyond what was actually his fault. And he is reluctant to admit that Mythal was anything other than 'The Good Evanuris.'

The most obvious example is the last panel, where he kills Flemeth. The conversation that Rook and Co. hear is NOT the one that happened. Mythal did not argue for the fate of the world. She didn't ask him not to bring down the Veil. She made no protest beyond saying that he shouldn't have let Corypheus find his orb. She did not sound indignant or angry with him at all. She LET him take her power, even knowing it would kill her. (which was why I was honestly expecting her to have some Big Plan where like...her power let her take control of him and even if you talked him down, she would force him to tear open the Veil herself, but...whomp whomp)

Flemythal had the same amount of power that Solas had in Trespasser, and Solas' magic at the time was about the same as any talented mage of the modern age. She could have wiped the floor with him. She could have called a dragon or turned him into stone.

He didn't take her life, she gave it to him. She forgave him, and then she died to give him what he wanted.

And oh boy, that is so so SO much worse than her still being angry and arguing with him and telling him he was wrong. He does not know how to handle that At All.

It's also interesting because that is the only memory where Mythal DOES sound sharp with him. Every other time she is trying to talk him into something and he is the one arguing against it, she is remembered as being calm and rational and patient. Soft-spoken and almost motherly. Which...after meeting the fragment in the Crossroads, I kind of doubt was her typical MO. Even Morrigan says that she is 'prickly.'

Solas remembers her as kinder than she was before her death, because grief softens a lot of rough edges when we love someone. And afterwards, he thinks of her as someone who is still angry with him. Who will never forgive him. Because he is still angry at himself for 'getting her killed' the first time.

Mythal herself says that these memories are things he has 'cultivated like a tree reaching for the sun.' He has twisted these memories within himself into the shapes that they are, regardless of 'truth.'

That is NOT to say that he is absolved of guilt for the things we saw in those regrets! Or even that he's less guilty! But perhaps more along the lines of... 'It's important to remember that Solas was not the only person involved in a lot of these events, and therefore is likely not the only person blame should fall on.' However, Pride that he is, Solas is the one who remembers all of these things as being entirely his fault.
