The Sims 2: 20th anniversary - Gigantic Baby Costume Updated

This thing is cursed, you say? How dare you.

Since I learned how to add face morphs to meshes, I thought to myself “what better way to celebrate this anniversary than updating this classic, this piece of Sims 2 history, this iconic masterpiece by bootsbrisket?” Of course all credits go to them!

Here’s all the changes for my version of this costume, which basically makes it so it’s actually, in fact, a real giant baby, not a costume anymore lol:

-I split this into two pieces: the body, found in fullbody outfits, and the head, found in the custom hairs section. This makes it so you’ll see the baby head on the pie menu, instead of the Sim’s head that’s wearing it underneath.

-Both pieces are available for all categories, unisex and ages range from young adult to elder.

-Added all face morphs using the original toddler face as a reference.

-Replaced the bones assignments on the body, this time using the toddler diaper outfit as a reference. Now they’ll look smoother.

-The body outfit replaces the original cc by bootsbrisket, so delete the original one if you have it. The head is a new piece of cc hair. You’ll probably find the head at the top of your custom unnatural hairs catalog, and the body buried (no pun intended) all the way at the bottom of the outfits catalog, right before the maxis clothing, due to how old the original one is.

Known issues:

-Due to how the Blender plugin works for the Sims 2, I haven’t been able to avoid making the head look bright in CAS. This is a sorta common issue that’s easily fixable using Milkshape3D, but again, I could only use Blender for the head mesh. Luckily, there’s Lazyduchess Overly Bright CAS fix, which I totally recommend you use to avoid this minor annoyance.

-While the eyes are fully animated and open and close as they should, the direction they look at won’t be animated. Haven’t figured out a way to implement that into a custom mesh yet.

-When the baby head opens their mouth, the nose’s Sim underneath might clip a little bit inside the mouth. Not very noticeable, but if you want to avoid this, you can make the Sim with an invisible skin like this one by MDP.

-This is something the original mesh had too: due to the size of the giant baby, there might be some clipping with itself in certain animations. Nothing too bad though I think.

And last but not least, some small tips to set up this Giant Baby character:

When the Sim wearing this goes to the shower, they’ll change into their naked adult bodies, which might look pretty creepy. Fortunately, there’s a way to make this outfit showerproof: the Never Nude trait and mod by Hexagonal Bypiramid! Change all the Sim’s outfits to the baby body, most importantly their swimwear, and place the Never Nude trait on their inventory.

Same goes for job outfits. If you want this Giant Baby to follow their dreams and pursue their professional career, they might change into something else when they go to work. For this I recommend the Job Outfit Stopinator by episims. Same as the other one, install the mod and place the object in the Sim’s inventory to prevent them from changing into job outfits.

And voila! You now have a fully functional Giant Baby Sim!

This is my first storyboard I am actually happy with, even though it does look far from professional. But, I try. I'm just kinda glad the expressions were neat and the movements turned out alright.

Vida and caine are such a fun duo to write about. To me their dynamic is the most gooseworx thing I've written, probably why I find it so charming.

I'm definitely making more storyboards in the future, cause they're fun to make when you get into them.

Here's the final tally of the Update versus My Sanity:

Game loaded but lashes were broken and some custom wallpapers were busted! It's OK! I was PREPARED! I reverted back to DX9 and updated all my beautiful Kijiko lashes because Sasha's personality is basically his eyelashes, so I am eternally grateful to @kijiko-sims (やあ！アップデートありがとう！さいこうです！🥰それに、かんじがわかりません。😅)

UPDATE 0 - ME 1

Went to check out Ciudad Enamorada. There were duplicate worlds, so I exited without saving, removed my mods folder, and ran repair in my game.

UPDATE 0 - ME 2!

BUT THEN! When I removed my mods folder to my desktop, my system told me I already had such a folder and I merely x-fered new files to the pre-existing folder and then my 'puter deleted the mods folder from the game instead of recycling because it's such a honking large folder. When I opened the game, the duplicate problem was solved but then the world wouldn't even load and I had a million exception alerts and I thought I had screwed myself over and was going to shit a brick.

INCOMPETENT ME 100- ME 2

Thankfully, I realized the old folder still had some outdated versions of big mods alongside the updated ones. I deleted them and now everything seems to work. Everyone looks right and hopefully that's it.

UPDATE 0 - ME 3 (As of right now. Hopefully, there will be no further developments affecting this tally, omg pleasepleaseplease)

The update no one asked for!

No one asked but yes I am alive! Just stuck in my head.

I have like four drafts of which one is part four of an ask, and I feel bad that it isn't ready yet.... but I am also thinking about maybe starting to post some of my drawings too... but meh we will see!

Anyway this is just a little status update on me to let those that follow me know, that no i have not disappeared from the web. I am just busy with life and work while also trying to work on four different drafts (an Ask, Drake Family Secret, Ghost kid in Gotham, Cassiopea and Orion and actually... i am working on more than just these four.... oh well...) and getting back into drawing...

I also recently learned Akiro Toriyama died and damn I am thankful to this man. He is a legend and without him I wouldn't be who I am today because Dragon Ball was one of the two mayor animes that shaped my childhood and the person I am today as well as inspired the one mangaka to create a manga that lead me to find one of my best friends and without them I wouldn't have dropped into the dpxdc fandom the way I have.

So even if it's late, I just wanted to also say my thanks to Akira Toriyama, for everything he did for us and many others by just inspiring people with his works! And making Manga and Anime popular enough that it swapped over from Asia to all over the world.

So I finally saw the rheumatologist today and they are 95% certain all of my pain/fatigue is fibromyalgia. They've obviously done the "lose weight" line again (and I'm 13lbs down in a month, thank you very much, back under 200lbs) and increased my painkillers. I'm hoping the pregablin doesn't make my memory worse because apparently I'm forgetting entire conversations lately.

I guess it's nice to have some sort of answer to everything, but disappointed it's yet another thing that can't be fixed, only managed. Right now, I'm still sitting with it, I've got a few more tests to go through, and I suppose I'll figure things out from there?

Yeah I'm not using the desktop version of Tumblr until they change it back. Even if they never do, it just means imma stick to my phone. The new update looks unpleasant and off kilter, and I loath Twitter's layout from the getgo. And now it's put into Tumblr, the least twitter like place ever.

New users can just learn the layout instead of having the platform be changed drastically like this lol.
