Danny loved his life. After his reveal to Jack and Maddie as a half ghost went right, everything started falling into place.

Vlad stopped his insane schemes once his parents were set loose on him. Sure he’s still mayor but he funds the town, keeps them protected from unwanted visitors, and is no longer trying to kidnap/adopt/clone Danny anymore.

Speaking of clones, Ellie was officially adopted into the family. She didn’t live with them full time with her obsession being freedom, but at least she has a home to return to now.

Dan was also adopted into the family. He is still on probation but turns out having their adopted family again (and as many ghost fruits as he wants) helped ease the rage. That’s not to mention Dan’s and Skulker’s bi-weekly figh- errr meetups.

Well at least there’s been no property destruction since he’s been crowned. After he and his rogues began scheduling their own meetups, his grades started going up again. So while he may never become an astronaut like he always dreamed of, he could still go up to space and see the stars whenever he wanted to.

Sure, being king wasn’t exactly what he wanted in life (or death) but he could protect his ghosts and liminals better this way. And considering his entire town is either ghost or liminal, it was just easier to protect them from the GIW and the government in general with a crown on his head.

Besides being king isn’t all bad either. He’s rich now meaning they won’t be racked up in college debt, he has cool artifacts that were gifted to the ghost king over the millennia that were left untouched but he’s not about to return them (they were gifts to the ghost king, practically funeral gifts like flowers but more rare and expensive), and he has crazy powerful Ancients as friends/family/mentors/protectors. He’s still a baby in ghost years and a minor in human years so he’s not expected to do much either way.

Life was going great, especially after Amity Park adopted ghost etiquette and ecto-infused food and beverages.

So why the Ancients are the Justice League of all people standing outside his front door with the Batman looking thoroughly freaked out the moment he opened the door? He hasn’t said anything yet either!! Stupid fucking government heroes.

au where grunkle stan has a prosthetic leg, he lost it in his 20s and has been using a range of (usually very bad and/or possibly stolen) prosthetics, and he never changes to better ones until the old one breaks beyond repair.

especially after taking over the mystery shack, because Stanford never lost a leg on record, so it'd be weird if Suddenly he had a decade old amputation randomly.

when the twins visit for the summer, they only find out after arriving. the Mr. Mystery persona hides his leg, after all, and sure, he walks around with the 8ball cane, but that's just for the persona, right?

wrong. Stan needs a cane, but only uses the 8ball one (it's not very good for him), and his leg is Old. it's like bordering on ten years old, and the foot is all worn out, plus the knee joint stops working randomly. so. he needs a new one.

Mabel and Dipper devise a plan. at first, their plan is to "fix" Stan's leg. regrow it or whatever. they end up almost doing some kind of witch deal, but it doesn't work out (and also they almost get eaten or smth)

stan explains to them that he's not looking to Regrow his leg. he's spent longer Without it then he ever did With it. he's spent like almost forty years with only one leg, he's used to it. they don't need to worry about him. and he ruffles their hair.

but Mabel and Dipper manage to convince him to at least get a new prosthetic and cane. ones that are actually good for him. Stan doesn't want to go to the doctor, but they find a way. probably mcgucket, he happily cobbles together a leg and cane. it might have lasers and Such in it, but he removes them when asked.

it's not perfect, but it's Leagues better than what stan had before, and the twins decorate it for him. stickers, some glitter. yknow.

very sweet I think. also this would slightly change Stan's usual outfit of his white tank top and his boxers, because he is hiding his leg from Gravity Falls, or at least trying to. the entire town probably knows already and just don't comment on it (it'd be rude if they did) he probably wears sweatpants or something.

also Ford Doesn't Know stan only has one leg. he's in for a shock. he's still mad about a lot of things, but like. cmon stan. that leg, while better than the others, isn't good. it's made of scrap metal stan. probably tries to get him an actual proper medical prosthetic. from a certified place. ford's gonna be short with him and grumpy but he's not gonna let stan screw himself over like this. also that hearing aid is just as bad. go to the doctor Stanley.

In the Familiar AU, Dipper's parents shipped him and Mabel off to Grunkle Stan back when they were twelve, actually!

This was initially excused as the twins 'needing to get used to having magic'. Which makes sense! Magical puberty is a heck of a thing, and getting some training's useful to cut down on random magic surges.

But by the end of the summer, they hadn't made any plans for picking the kids up. This when Stan twigged to the real situation.

And by the end of that year, Dipper knew his 'paranoid' assumption was absolutely correct.

So the twins grew up in Gravity Falls, with only very occasional visits back 'home'. Contact's been sporadic, and Mabel's been the one who's clung more to their parent's attention. Dipper hasn't spoken to them unless forced to in years.

So yeah! Bill's not exactly thrilled with the parents - but lucky for them, they haven't met him yet! And they definitely don't know about the marriage. Much less anything else.

(long post, sorry for the random people stumbling upon this lol)

so I'm the dm for the chatty hobbits campaign and essentially it's set in a beleriand-adjacent continent, but with a few extra races and stuff. of the founders of the original settlements, the king of elende (the elf kingdom) is Gil-galad's (invented for the campaign) twin brother Finellach/Finwain. originally he was inspired by the fact that gil galad has a ton of names but only uses ereinion/gil, so I just invented a new character and gave him half the names. I headcanon gil galad as maglor's son, so finwain is in universe maglor's son (left at the havens with gil bc his wife divorced him for kinslaying and his kingdom, being next door neighbors with morgoth, is far too dangerous for small children).

Anyways, his descendant Elinyel (also known as aramire or elinnor) is the current queen of Elende! she's an evil fire-themed bard who is extremely feanorian in all the worst ways - her actual kingdom prospered under her reign, but she just does not care about everyone else as long as she's protecting her people. There were some tensions with one of the major kingdoms to the north (conflict over unclaimed territory between the kingdoms and some tariff stuff), so instead of risking the other kingdom starting a war and hurting her people, she just preemptively invaded it and started burned all the border territories to the ground.

her actual coronation was pretty weird- so she's the second child, but her older sister was born in wartime and there's a general belief in elende that children of peacetime make better rulers, so Elinyel was chosen as her family's heir. her grandfather (the crown prince of his generation) died defending Elende in one of the major wars, but his younger brother and two young kids survived. there's a whole feud between their houses because the brother chose to retain the kingship even after the kids were old enough to take the throne. anyways, two generations later Elinyel killed her cousin Arendil (the previous king of Elende) over a dispute about the legitimacy of his house (and what she believed to be a dishonoring of her grandparents' sacrifice) and took the throne.

obviously she has many Issues. arendil also has two surviving kids who are now essentially trying to stop her from murdering all their neighbors in proactive defense of her people.

however, when she first ascended she recruited her friend group as her elite guard/vassals of the kingdom. (aka the other bosses in the storyline). so it escalated to a war between her forces and the children of arendil, which ultimately culminated in her beloved sister being killed by one of arendil's children. this in turn led to her having basically a massive mental breakdown and feeling like she failed to protect her loved ones (exacerbated by some of her other friends being killed in battles she led). a normal person might decide this is was kind of her fault for starting a war and putting her friends in charge of the army. instead she decided she needed to destroy everyone who could ever potentially pose a threat. which is, in her eyes, literally everyone on the continent (except for her kingdom, of course).

so now she is at war with absolutely everyone of all factions! She is also somehow winning by virtue of Song almost on the level of maglor himself, and ten (now six) also incredibly powerful friends. Anyways, she has decided that the best way to wipe out the continent (except her kingdom) and start fresh is to literally find an ancient lost stone that can break the Doors of Night, summon Morgoth himself, and start the Dagorath. obviously this will Not go well for anyone at all if she succeeds, but she is on a full-on rampage and genuinely believes she (plus friends) can protect her kingdom from Morgoth's army while he wipes out everyone else.

hc that throughout the years, jude takes leaves of absences form being high queen to go spend a couple months w vivi heather n oak !!! madoc too ig while he’s still exiled lol. ( vehemently ignoring the stolen heir’s canon sorry not sorry.) family bonding time, far away from the hubbub n chaos of the folk, n also the realization that jude doesn’t mind the mortal world all that much. yes it’s not faerieland, but it’s smth alright n she finds it soothing at times. she’s less unhinged n paranoid compared to when she was younger n the ptsd from her past has decreased in its intensity thanks to heather-mandated therapy ( heather only had to hear a couple times abt the duarte sisters’ fucked up childhood for her to plead jude to go to therapy—vivi alrdy has— n jude relented after 5 yrs of honest-to-god begging. big slay heather our mental health queen 🫂) and so that’s why she can even leave faerieland in someone else’s hands. these visits aren’t too frequent but they r long in their duration. 3-4 months tops. sometimes cardan comes along bcs the bed feels empty w/o jude n— Okay he’s js lonely w/o his wife. sue him. some poor hapless councilor advisor is forced to be in charge in their place (they send letters weekly. ‘please your majesties, when will you be returning home ?’ #urgent LOL) one day jude (age:37) notices grey hairs appearing on her head n she sort of freaks out. not in an entirely vain way either. more like:. oh fuck aren’t i supposed to not age as long as im in faeirieland ?? 3 long discussions later w cardan n the royal folk-human specialist, the conclusion that is reached is that bcs of jude’s visits to the mortal word, as infrequent as they r, theyve seemed to affect the way her body ages. or more aptly put, doesn’t age lol. jude gets some grey hair n lines on her face while still technically NOT aging. n she feels less panicky abt it bcs hey she’s not aging. sort of. meanwhile, cardan finds himself deeply enamored w jude’s grey hair n the subtle creases on her face that multiply slowly. he tells jude js so n she’s like i am not susceptible to flattery cardan greenbriar. hes Serious abt it tho n tells her that he isn’t saying that bcs it’ll make her feel better or wtv but bcs her aging evidently is actually beautiful to him. cue jude sour pursed lips for a bit as she gets these days when it comes to cardan being unbearably earnest towards her but she feels less weird abt the hair n lines so :)

spoilers for the latest dungeon meshi ep but oh my GODDD i love marcille my pobrecita.. i think ryoko kui wrote sexism's effects on marcille really well, i think it's neat how she's a silly little guy and other people kind of underestimate her and it seems she is often down on herself about her failures or, "burdening" others in a way that feels very authentic to how it feels to be a woman and have that extra pressure of perfection to dispell suspicions of your inferiority. it's just very much the feeling i gather from it which makes marcille so relatable. and then to put another layer on it when it came out that she did black magic, she's literally A Bad Ass she is LITERALLY a Badass which makes her doubt of herself even more starkly inappropriate, and in this new episode despite the Fact that she is A Bad Ass when everyone's being a BIG MEANIE to her she's like a sad puppy when people don't let her help with revivals and like idk if i missed something but she doesn't even push back against them saying they're going to turn her in in like, a threatening way, she is just... scared. which hurt me i just wanted everyone stop being so MEAN TO HERRR my POBRECITAAAA. i also laughed a lot and freaked out catching up on the two latest episodes today. 1) your Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor's opinion on Orlais?

He’s definitely not a fan, at least on the human side of things. The constant politicking and lies, Chantry essentially being based there, the fate of the Dales, etc etc are all big negatives when it comes to Orlais. Plus Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts was probably his least favorite mission just because how out of his element he was.

6) attitude towards the Qun?

Taerel is generally wary of religions other than his own but unlike his hostility towards Chantry, he was more curious about Qun. He knows how the Chantry can twist or straight up change the historical facts for its benefit, and since his prior knowledge was essentially what is common knowledge in the South, he was more ambivalent until he could learn more. Iron Bull was the first Qunari he has ever met, so he immediately started asking so many questions to see what it was really like, and in the end he ended up deciding that he doesn’t quite like the Qun, even though he could definitely see the appeal in the desire for order.

7) if they had to choose one person most important to them, who would that be?

As of Trespasser, probably his sister. He is close with all of his family, but his bond with Lianna is the strongest and while they might argue sometimes, they would die for each other. As of Veilguard, I would have to think some more bc idk what are they going to do with Inquisitor and there is quite a timeskip.

14) who are they closest to from their family?

Kind of answered in the previous question gddhdghdg, his twin sister. He actually probably spent more time with his father since once Lianna turned out to be a mage, they spent more time apart each learning their craft, but while he loves him dearly, his relationship with his father is more complicated.

He would say that he was content with what he was doing before and that would be a lie, but he would keep on insisting. With “what he was doing before” being trailing after his mother and sister, watching over them and keeping them safe as they did all the things he would never be able to do. Plus spying for the clan sometimes, even though he is only really good at the sneaky kind of spying, not the bard one.

Chapter 27: Scene 3

The explosion of snow across the way very briefly distracted the twin princes.

It was large enough that the fallout came pretty close to the pair of them. The flakes sizzled out as they barrelled towards the fiery pair, the air too hot for snow to stay snow.

Magic ran hot. So did both summer sprites. One of which was simmering as the pair fought. Smoke wafted off of Blaise’s shoulders as he and his brother darted around one another, flinging magic back and forth like they had in their youth.

Laughter and teasing as they threw spells towards one another, growing sillier and sillier as they progressed. The goopy explosions that’d hit the poor groundskeepers. The lecture that entailed.

But the laughter was gone. The teasing non existent. The spells serious, and potentially deadly, both warlocks meaning business. One out to protect. One out to seize. One growing distracted. The other taking advantage of that distraction very, very fast.

He was weak. He cared about others.

Pyros didn’t.

Using his finger to direct his next spell, Pyros lunged, the spell heading right for Blaise’s gut.

It hit.

Blaise deflated, a strangled noise making its way out of his mouth as his hands flew down to his midsection. He hugged his stomach, staff still clenched stubbornly within his grasp.

“Ou, that looked like it hurt,” Pyros taunted.

“Barely,” Blaise shot back, hoarse. Grimacing, he stabbed his staff into the ground, using it to push himself up. “I could do this all day.”

“I’ll hold you to it.” Grabbing his staff in both hands, Pyros flipped it, the tip of the crescent moon touching the snow below him. He whirled, drawing a large circle around himself in the snow.

Facing Blaise once more, he righted his staff. The tip glowed as he stabbed the pommelled base into the snow, the circle around him glowing the bloody red of his own personal magic.

Uttering a few words, magic went flying out from around him. It spread throughout the square, the magic covering the doors in a red glow. Open doors slammed, clicks and snaps ringing out all around the town.

Elves that had been running to the doors stopped as the magic hit, watching the enchantment settle. They tried to open the doors. They couldn’t. They were stuck. Locked.

And those that hadn’t made it in were trapped outside.

“Son of a bitch,” Blaise cursed, pulling himself up.

“No escape now, oh brother dearest,” Pyros said, using his staff to knock Blaise’s out of the ground. “Can’t have you undoing that enchantment now, can we?”

Lifting his staff high above his head he chuckled, the gem already glowing with a fresh set of spells.
