another thing that i wanted to talk about in this months beauty column is the DIFFERENCE that blush placement makes. so i was scrolling on pinterest when i came across this chart that talked about blush placement.

when you apply blush a certain way it balances out ur beautiful features and plays around with proportions in such a way that can make ur features more prominent. also the way that u apply ur blush totally changes the way that ur makeup looks.

for example when u apply blush to the apples of ur cheeks it gives a more youthful and glowy effect. when u put blush high on ur cheekbones it gives a more lifted and sculpted look which is where the blush chart comes in. depending on ur face shape u can determine which style of blush placement complements ur pretty face the best 💗

the most listened to album i've listened to all month has been butterfly by mariah carey. it was released in 1997 and every single song on that album is a total MASTER PIECE. some of my favorites include

another album that has been gathering lots of attention on lots of social media platforms is ice spice's Y2K album and i've seen a lot of mixed reviews about it. personally im not a fan of the album, my favorite song on the album is did it first but im not a fan of the album as a whole. im curious though to hear what your thoughts on the album are…💬🎀

FASHION FLOPS VS FASHION BOPS ;

in this column, lets look at some old and new fashion trends and see which trends are flops and which ones are bops. my sources include vogue, and glamour magazine…💬🎀

according to vogue, statement gowns are OUT and discreet chics are IN. discreet chic is mixing basics in minimalist yet compelling ways. this includes things like trench coats, pencil skirts, trouser suits and good jeans.

according to glamour magazine, crisp whites and butter yellows are trending this summer. along with sequins and basics like denim pants and white t-shirts, polished kitten heels and mary jane flats also. the styles that are trending for this summer are boho 3.0 and little white dresses.

something i can DEF get behind is little white dresses. its like a blank canvas on which u can make the outfit into whatever you want. personally i would style a tiny white dress with chunky bracelets and wedges/kitten heels…💬🎀

LETS TALK MANIFESTATION ;

manifestation techniques are overrated - all you have to do to manifest is affirm -> persist. thats essentially all you have to do and when i first started i was so caught up in techniques and routines that i wasn't even affirming/persisting. i was doing anything and everything and i saw manifestation as a process and manifestation is NOT a process. when i shifted that and realized that manifesting is instant and all techniques are for funsies, the pressure was taken off.

this is an excerpt from my manifestation opinions post and i've released this poll to talk about what manifestation topic you guys would like me to talk about and the winner was saturation so lets talk about it. so what does it mean to saturate? i got this question a while ago in my inbox so im just gonna copy and paste my response.

saturating is simply soaking ur mind in the fact that u already have what u want. i do this with affirming, some people do other things to saturate but affirming is the most simple for me. just think as if u have it over and over and over again…💬🎀

you can saturate for hours at a time or a little bit everyday it doesnt rly matter its just thinking over and over again. i saturate while listening to music, playing video games, doing mundane tasks etc. all i do is think my affirmations and thats all! if theres something specific that u guys are curious about with saturation lemme know in the comments but its super simple bcuz MANIFESTING is super simple.

JENNIE KIM STYLE DISSECTION ;

jennie kim is a fashion ICON. i swear every photo that i see of her, her outfit, hair, face, everything is absolutely perfect. jennie's style is very posh and feminine. and a rly great example of this would be her look below. i love how she color coordinated her hair accessories to her outfit and the black and pink is so ICONIC cuz she was a black pink member.

shes rocking her trademark chanel in the form of a waist chain and everything just goes together beautifully. jennie knows how to mix posh and hyper femininity in her outfits super well and we can see that in her next outfit…💬🎀

THE CHANEL CHAIN AHHH IM OBSESSED. in the next outfit shes rocking a red two piece with buttons that just add that very chic and posh look. her chanel chain is such a statement piece and her matching chanel purse, shes literally chanels princess atp.

when i think leo style i think: bold look, trendsetter, basics with a statement pieces, fur, jewels, glitter, side slits, something that you can show off your back, etc.

sagittarius (9°, 21°)

when i think sagittarius style i think: something that you could wear anywhere (versatility), strange pairings (trench coat and sweats, minimal clothing but heavy jacket, cute dress but grungy coat, multiple hyper pieces at once, etc), couture, bodysuits, traveling outfits, casual made chic, high waisted pants, baggy pants, no pants, etc.

Adult Taissa Style Analysis:

During season 1 Taissa wears a lot of high end designer brands. In season 2 you see Taissa wear a lot more casual looks and a return to looks more similar to those Taissa had in the wilderness (though to be fair if I remember right I think canonically the clothes Taissa wears at the end of the season might be Van’s).

Colors: Neutral Tones (beige, cream, etc.), Blues and Greens.

Repeatedly Worn Brands: Fendi, Max Mara.

For Adult Taissa’s clothes, the brands Prada, Tom Ford, and Chanel are specifically brought up by Costume Designer Marie Schley in her interview with Pretty Ripe.

Ideas of how to dress like Taissa:

• Layer your outfit with a classy trench coat

• Wear unique statement earrings.

• Stick with neutral tones except for a few colorful statement items.

YELLOWJACKETS FASHION FACT: In an interview with Digital Spy costume designer Amy Parris specifically calls the neutrals Taissa wears “political beige” based off the idea that politicians wear unassuming colors so that people can kind of project onto them. In Taissa’s case, Parris said it’s more that Taissa doesn’t necessarily have anything she’s trying to project and that it’s has to do with the emptiness she feels (specifically in season 2).

The day is picturesque, not too hot, not too cold, and you're basking in the late afternoon sun, just watching the world go by with your fiancé across from you.

Despite appearances of a perfectly sane, perhaps even boring couple, you and Levi are not at all capable of having a boring afternoon.

Therefore, as Levi takes the first sip of his tea, his eyes dart to a young man meandering past beyond the shipping rope dividing the seating area from the rest of the courtyard.

He catches your eyes, guiding them to the young man.

"That jacket, fashion statement, or crime?"

You turned a carefully neutral expression to steal a glance, hiding a snort behind your own cup.

'As the queen of hearts once said: off with their heads!'

The faintest snort left Levi's lips, pushing his hair back from his face, backlit by the slowly lowering sun.

Utterly gorgeous as your lover is, you now have a job to do: find the next target.

You spoke softly to each other, ensuring no one further than three feet from you ever heard.

'Girl in the purple dress?'

'You mean the wizard from every kid's nightmare?' Levi drawled. 'She could do with a belt.'

'Maybe, I like her boots though.'

Levi shrugged, conceding, turning his attention to the next passer-by.

The two of you could spend hours like this, content in each other's company, each looking for ways to make the other laugh, be it through Fashion Policing or just utter nonsense.

You revelled in these Sunday afternoon, after all, you are probably one of the very few people who have ever seen Levi crack a smile.

And you're the only one who's ever made him laugh.

Of course, this means things can get utterly ridiculous.

After an hour, you'd settled yourselves into other topics, which cafes brewed tea better, when you spied someone too perfect to pass up.

'Guy in the trench coat.' You mused into the rim of your cup, discretely flicking you eyes to the gentleman in question.

Levi took one look at the rather...interesting person, and chuckled to himself.

'He looks great, if he fell out of Middle Earth through Narnia's asshole.'

A bark of laughter tore from you before you could so much as put your cup down, so powerful you knew it'd give you a belly ache as you shook with blinding delight.

Levi's smile grew, his heart growing light. He wasn't usually one to make a scene in public, but with you...your booming delight could never be an embarrassment, and he glares down anyone who gives you so much as a disapproving glance.

That laughter, the kind that puts tears in your eyes is exactly what he's aiming for, and he won't let anyone steal that glee from you.

Fall and Hawthornes: Headcanons, Part 1

Grayson and fall:

-He loves fall. It’s his favorite season.

-He loves going out to take pictures of the trees and weather and decorations and light changing and everything, cause we know he’s a little shutterbug❤️

-The second the light starts changing he gets a little excited! Even Grayson Davenport Hawthorne has to have feelings, yes, I know, shocker.

-One of his go to autumn outfits is a cranberry red or black turtleneck and a fashionable grey trench coat. Not a detective’s style coat, but one of the nicer ones. See exhibit A. A similar pair of pants as in the picture. Sometimes he completes the look with a pair of fashion statement glasses, something his fangirls swoon over.

-He likes the seasonal coffees(cause he’s obviously a coffee addict with how much he works). But would he like pumpkin spice? I don’t know.

-His favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, when all his family is in one place where he can keep them safe and happy with each other! Plus the food. I also feel like there has to be at least one Thanksgiving dish he insists on making himself because nobody else makes it right.

-He will spend many a late evening in his room, maybe balcony doors open, fire in the fireplace, reading. He may be a workaholic all year, but he doesn’t stay as late at work in fall so he can enjoy his favorite season.

-He has O N E pair of soft, cushy, fuzzy socks that he pampers himself with once in a while. Nobody else knows and he plans on keeping it that way.

-He ADORED hayrides as a kid. Secretly wants to go on one again. (Someone pls take the man on a hayride date)

-He prefers apple pie to pumpkin. He needs the warmth.

-He wants fall scented candles but doesn’t get them because he doesn’t want to get teased over it.

The Timeless Style Of Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn: British actress and humanitarian, a wondrous woman with an everlasting legacy who was idolised worldwide for her effortless poise and grace. It is an undeniable fact that Audrey was a true fashion icon of her time - a timeless beauty.

Use of colour allowed Audrey to create outfits that could live forever, outfits that could be stored in time capsules and remain just as wonderful for years to come. She used hues of black, white, and grey most frequently: shades that have stood the test of time and create a sleek and sophisticated feel to an outfit. Kloktober 2023: Day 3 - Mordhaus Costume Ball

I have had the intrusive thought of Vater Orlaag dressed as Black Beard loosely based off of the version of Black Beard from Our Flag Means Death for two or three weeks now. This is probably rated about Teen and as usual includes my OC Lucy. 1,711 words below the cut. <3 Also wanted to mention that Charles' costume description was inspired by this post by @chordsykat

“Master, you’re certain that I’m the best choice for this?”

“Out of anyone here, you’re the best at masking yourself.” At least, he was the best at it other than Salacia, but Salacia couldn't exactly go to the Ball even disguised, the Dead Man would recognize him immediately.

Vater Orlaag nodded, but internally he felt the equivalent of a long-suffering sigh.

The Mordhaus Costume Ball was, in a word, opulent. The room that the band typically used to put on performances for new Klokateers was cleared out and decorated with Victorian Gothic décor, and they were calling it the “Mask of the Red Deth” Costume Ball. It was mostly other celebrities who had been invited, metal musicians and musicians that the band had simply met with throughout the years, but there were also some actors milling about and a few high-ranking Klokateers who were in attendance as guests, a reward for their service to the band.

Everyone in the band was dressed to the nines: Nathan was wearing a black ruffled shirt and leather pants that tied rather than buttoned up. His mask was a leather skull in metallic gold. Murderface wore something more period accurate for nobility that had actually made him feel attractive when he looked in the mirror, a black and red mask complimenting the outfit. Toki wore something that looked almost like a dark Viking outfit in blacks and greens with a mask that had long golden horns as part of it. Skwisgaar looked elf-like, opting for a more androgynous costume in whites and golds, and accented with silver elf ear jewelry combined with a wire wrapped mask.

Pickles looked, in a word, stunning. His dreads were up, and he was wearing tight leather pants, knee high boots, and a black shirt underneath a black and red leather trench coat with pointed shoulders. His mask looked like a black and red skull, emphasizing the theme of the Ball. Lucy was in a corseted black and blood red ball gown with spider web mesh sleeves and a traditional French style corset top, straight lined at the top allowing for what most would consider a minor wardrobe malfunction, something that she had convinced Charles to allow her to get away with because she was “in her own damned ‘haus and the French used to do this as a fashion statement.” He had only agreed because the look genuinely was elegant, if not distracting. The front of the skirt only just covered her, showing off the same spider print mesh on her legs, and the back of the gown trailed slightly. She held a fan in her hand all night, and her leather mask was an intricate black cat with red, silver and gold detailing, matching the elegant collar that she was wearing with rose details tooled into the leather. Her hair was down, but there were two braids that started near her forehead and met and the back of her head like a crown, her bright rainbow hair juxtaposed with her outfit, yet somehow meshing with it perfectly.

Dick was wearing something that could be better characterized as steampunk than anything else, playing up his cybernetic eyes almost as though they were part of his mask. Even Charles was dressed up, his outfit featuring a sleek black corset that emphasized his form and a mask that looked oddly like a darker version of Facebones.

The party was in full swing, and everyone was in bright spirits, mingling, dancing, and socializing. Lucy was having a relatively in-depth conversation with Pickles, when he walked into the room. Lucy happened to glance over at the door just as he was coming in, her hand stopping mid-fan. She lost any semblance of what her best friend was saying in that moment, her eyes drinking the man in. His mask was simple black leather, only covering around his piercing blue eyes that looked like they had thick black eyeliner around them. His long, flowing wavy hair and beard were midnight black, almost as though he had dyed it just for the event, and it looked as though there was smoke coming out of the intricate braids on his beard that were curled outward. The outfit that he wore was entirely made of leather, tight leather pants hugging thick, strong thighs that left nothing to the imagination, a leather jacket that was missing one arm revealing an arm that was toned and strong, leather half gloves, and several belts, one of which had a holster with a dagger in it. He must have stood at almost 7 feet tall and he was buzzing with an intense energy.

Lucy was so busy ogling the man that she hadn’t noticed that Pickles had followed her gaze and had gone silent, now ogling him himself. “Holy shit, dood. Look, I know ya gaht first dibs, but if ya strike out er if he’s down fer a little Double Trouble, come get me, ahlreet? Fuck.”

Lucy nodded, not taking her eyes off of him. “Yeah. Gods, that’d be hot… Who the fuck is he?”

“I don’t know, but if ya don’t get over there, someone else will.”

She was already turning to start walking over to him, “You sure you don’t mind if-“

“Luce, that someone else is gahnna be me in about 5 seconds, go.”

Pickles did not need to tell Lucy twice. She was walking at a speed that indicated any semblance of dignity and restraint had already gone out the window. When she got closer, she made sure to walk with a confident stride, walking right up to him with a wicked little grin on her face.

Vater had seen her walk over, and was currently doing his absolute best not to openly stare at her chest. It didn't help in the slightest that he had an irritating attraction to this woman since the first day that she popped up on the Tribunal's giant screen during a meeting. He didn’t want to allow himself to get distracted, but part of the success of his mission of getting the information that Salacia had wanted was blending in, and that meant social pleasantries. Even still, he was hoping that she wouldn’t prove to be too much of a distraction.

Lucy stopped in front of him, her eyes full of Devilish promise and offering her hand to shake his. “I couldn’t help but notice you coming in from across the room and I had to come over to compliment your costume and introduce myself.”

He didn’t get where he was without knowing how to be charming, so when she offered her hand, Vater took it and brought it to his lips, kissing it and nibbling the knuckle slightly all while looking her in the eyes with a gaze that could have been hypnotic. Lucy bit her lip and visibly shivered, her pupils dilating from the sheer intensity of the moment, making him grin at her reaction. “Your costume choice is rather stunning as well.”

"Holy sweet Jesus, his voice." She had the thought that he could read her the period table of elements and she'd still listen without complaint. Lucy blushed and stepped in a little closer to him, reaching out and running her hand slowly and deliberately down his exposed forearm, “Why don’t we go get a drink and chat, maybe get to know each other before I inevitably drag you out of here with me?”

He chuckled darkly. She was wonderfully brazen. Perhaps he could find all the information that Salacia had needed from her. There was some distant part of his mind telling him that he was lying to himself and not to allow himself to get distracted by the slip of a woman, but that part was being loudly drowned out by the warmth of her body now very close to him and the sound of her sultry laughter.

The two of them talked for a while, Vater finding out absolutely nothing that Salacia needed and forgetting about the mission entirely after about two minutes of being in her presence.

When she finally officially invited him back to her room, Lucy raised a playful eyebrow at him, “What’s the chance you swing both ways?”

He looked at her inquisitively, and then saw her look over at Pickles, following her gaze. The Drummer was in rare form tonight, the man cleaned up well. It certainly wouldn’t be Vater’s first time with a man. There was a predatory smile on his face that made Lucy’s pupils dilate and her body shiver. From across the room, Pickles glanced up at the two of them, and seeing the look on the tall man’s face it was a wonder that he didn’t bolt across the room at them.

Pickles had a cocky smirk on his face as he approached them, walking straight up to Vater with an unholy amount of confidence, “Well, hey d’ere, tall, dark, an’ dangerous. Yah ready fer a little Double Trouble?”

There was a dark little chuckle that had Lucy and Pickles weak in the knees as the three of them walked out, one of them to each of his arms, barely making it to Lucy’s room and not coming out until sometime the next afternoon. Lucy and Pickles practically limped down to the kitchen, using each other to keep themselves upright, grinning like idiots, and Vater left with two phone numbers and very insistent “call me’s” and “get home safe’s” from the two of them.

When Vater arrived back at the bunker, he went immediately to see Salacia, knowing that he was hours late for the previously planned private debriefing. He was still in costume and looked as though he had got no sleep.

“What did you manage to find out?” Salacia asked him, already having the needling feeling that the mission had been a failure.

Vater looked at him, wondering if he could bullshit his way through the fact that the mission itself had failed before it started. “I was able to determine that the band can be… very persuasive… when they want to be Master.” He kept the fact that he now had two of their phone numbers to himself.

Salacia eyed the love bites on his servant’s neck and scowled.

“Tell you what, Irma,” April turned her chair in her friend’s direction and gently placed a hand on her back, “how about we go out to eat later? I’ll pay?”

“Well at least someone knows how to properly treat a lady!” April laughed again and turned back around to finish her report.

All of a sudden, Irma’s eyes widened and she glanced toward April. “Uh,” she pointed out the window, “I think somebody’s trying to get your attention.”

April turned to her left to see a rather wide fellow with an obvious skin condition wearing a trench coat and fedora. Upon gaining the woman’s attention, the man(?) waved a three-fingered hand at her before giving her a “c’mere” motion. Had it not been for the slightly panicked look on his face she might’ve considered ignoring him.

April looked back to her friend as if to ask for her approval to leave. Irma put a hand up in a shrug and mumbled a “go”.

April got up from her seat at the booth and jogged toward the entrance of the pizza parlor. Irma heard the bell of the door ring and sighed again, somewhat unhappy that she’ll now have to wallow in misery all by her lonesome.

She decided not to pay attention to the same bell ringing again, seconds after April left. It was when Irma felt a gentle kiss pressed to her temple did she choose to come back into focus.
