#somewhere during early quarantine I try rewatching mlp since yk at that time it’s been a year or since #the show ended and I got pretty far in #(I don’t remember if I rewatched the movie though)#but anyways when I got to like season 7 or 8 ( whenever the hell the whole school arc begins) I was struggling to finish one episode 😭😭#i think the last episode I watched was like one here rainbow dash and apple jack try teaching together

i just. hit s+ rank in splatoon and i never honestly thought this would happen?? am i cool now.. do i get to be a part of the s4? do i get to be watered down to my running joke all the time?

#the last part is a joke but i do not see a whole lot of recognition of the s4 being. the s4 #like yeah they were cool formidable foes in the s1 era and skull even beat goggles despite his plot armor #but now theyre just #there??#dont get me wrong i love their existence but #it feels like theyve been watered down at least a bit #skull is always just getting lost and army is almost always either the manual guy or the curry guy #thats. thats it thats their bits #skull also has the sweets thing #rider is sometimes a considerable foe too but at the same time the s4 doesnt usually consist of him so im not sure how much to count him #that being said it is a kids manga so i dont really expect it to lean too far into the formidable foes thing #even the xblood werent that scary in the long run and ended up goofy despite being who they were #i also get it in terms of fandom #i understand the appeal of something like aloha being cutesy dumb pink guy (who maaaaaaybe commited some crimes and it shows)#i also definitely understand the appeal of army having a thing for curry as well as the manuals #the manuals can be an endearing thing to write about trust me #but i also wouldnt mind seeing more things that center around the likes of the s4 and the xblood and even the best8 being the absolute best #of the best during their prime #reminder that s+ was the highest rank around when the s4 were introduced. same with the xblood #they were the strongest players and id like to see things that center around that #id like to imagine that moving on to the square and splatsville that the s4 would have had a chance to move uo and get into xbattles #i think of all of them skull and army would have the highest chances of actually making it to xrank and being successful #but honestly if mask and aloha could probably make it pretty well too if they got off their asses #and i think rider would excel as well being rider #he has his own kind of near plot armour i think #so do most of the big teams in my opinion #theyre the sort of doomed by the plot that forces them to battle goggles at some point lmao #maybe i could use this in a fic or au one day #maybe someone already has...#(please send to me if you know of any creators who have played around with these vague ideas of strength i wanna see em)

really starting to believe that psychic who claimed i’m cursed

#like absolutely NOTHING goes right in my life #i have no friends no social life no partner have never been in a relationship even though i’m almost 30 #i still live at home my job has horrible working hours and makes me absolutely miserable #like i can’t name you a single thing that goes right in my life i’m so far behind everyone #i wasted so many years studying and i’ve got nothing to show for it i’m a pathetic excuse of a human #i really wish i could give my life to someone who deserves it way more than me someone who really wants to live #the psychic claimed that my ex best friend’s mother cursed me #and i do find it somewhat silly to blame everything that goes wrong in my life on someone else or outer forces #but our friendship ended VERY poorly and her mother absolutely hated me by the end of it #so it honesty doesn’t seem too far fetched #bc ever since we went our separate ways which i never regretted btw i’ve just been struggling to survive #like if i’m honest i’m intelligent i’m capable i’m pretty i’m kind i’m funny but my whole life is a struggle #i know that my depression anxiety and overall low self esteem closes a lot of doors for me #but it’s just insane how unlucky i am like it can’t be a coincidence anymore #it’s just so heartbreaking when all your efforts are in vain like i try sooooo hard but it’s never enough #the psychic claimed the mother put a curse on me that basically blocks all roads for me #and like i said i haven’t had success or happiness in both my personal and professional life #it feels like every time i take step forward i take 3 back #good things never stay for long and bad things are so excruciatingly bad it’s unbearable #i’m just exhausted with everything… life shouldn’t be so fucking difficult wether it’s a curse or not #i know i also have many things to be thankful for but it seems like all the important milestones are eluding me #☁️

#A great episode tbh especially given the low budget. I feel like they really did their very best #And even though what I'm going to say next is probably going to be all critic - because I nitpick things and that's what I always end up–#talking about - I still want to underline that it was a very solid and enjoyable episode!!!#Alright the ss/kk was so 💞💞💞 every scene I had to rewatch twice or thrice akhscbashfb they're so cute!!!#Except for the riding scene tho. That scene gives me massive second hand embarrassment every time I just wish it will end as fast as–#possible pffttt. Mmmmhhh... The drawings weren't even too bad all accounted. My main complain is about the quicksand scene...#I feel like that one should be a slow quiet emotional scene. I never licked the choice of using the song as background soundtrack :/#I feel like it ruins the mood of the scene (it was still good though)#I also... Generally don't like the direction they seem to go for with Akutagawa's character in the anime‚ he seems quite a bit flatter–#compared to how he is in the manga. He can't be angry and evil ALL the time you need to show that softness get through from time to time.#If not what even is the point of his character. Yet in the anime he's angry (and not distraught) when he loses the mine craft and he's–#angry when he's questioning Atsushi about his motifs and he's angry when he's bragging about Atsushi's abilities to Goncharov and he's–#angry when he makes the promise with Atsushi at the end of the episode and eventually he'll be just as angry even when telling Atsushi–#to run away as he's sacrificing his life for him. It is pretty flat at the end of the day.#If I can say something about K/ensho Ono without being killed I think they do contribute to making him feel angry all the time.#But that said it's all probably poor directing choices (or simply choices I don't agree with).#Also‚ about cuts. Usually I try to be lenient about it– I understand it's hard to fit in everything and b/sd already does a very–#good job by adapting the manga almost panel-by panel. It's just that... You skip Akutagawa showing compassion for Atsushi after the–#orphanage director died. You skip Atsushi sharing the same compassion when Akutagawa loses his targed in the mines chase. You skip the–#“Nothing special about that. // I suppose he's far crueler than my own mentor.” line. And sure each of them may be negligible by their own #But together they wave a consistent web of relationship between the two characters you know? And it's a loss to omit them all #Well no mind. Again it was still a great episode overall!!!!#I think the colors in the mines could have been prettier in the mines but we can't have it all #Off to season 4!!! Omg I can't believe we got this far :DDD #random rambles #FINALLY was able to catch up in time for the season 3 finale!!!!!!

i think i accidentally got someone in trouble in real life and i feel sort of bad about it

#basically i had to get a 'certificate' as part of my loan preparation that shows i've been counseled on how to pay my mortgage #but the company i had to do it through was actually a debt consolidation agency and i got treated like i needed help with debt #i don't have any debt and i'm pretty responsible with my money but the guy i spoke to ended up grilling me on my financial plans #and also came up with some pretty inaccurate numbers about what my monthly expenses will be #i felt like i got talked down to the whole time and like i was being 'educated' for no reason and i told my lender #and she raised hell with them because like. a lot of her clients use this type of loan and have to go through these people #so now they're reviewing the phone call to determine if he acted inappropriately and tbh i feel like i'm rightfully pissed but also #i didn't expect it to go this far and i only said something to my lender because it bugged me that i had to make an account to get the cert #and now i can't remove my personal information from their portal #so yeah that's been my day

#YES ITS STEVEN UNIVERSE #honestly i didnt watch it for so long bc the fandom from what i gathered was RANCID like the infighting i saw???? horrific #im just here for the fun gay relationship drama and hearttugging plot and pretty animation #anyways i finished the whole series and we started the new Future show and eh the new ones fine so far?#not disappointed but also like Why Are We Here #i wanted more but it got wrapped up pretty tightly #like...... so far the new one just feels like Hey Remember All This?????#i do!!! i just watched all of it!!!#again its not bad. but stories end for a reason ya know?

you ever think about how tentpole fandoms from 00s-2010s shows with huge followings that are going strong even now would just not exist if they were made in this day and age

#ara rambles #just. in this environment. i doubt even juggernaut fandoms like spn and merlin would even exist #like. so many shows had mid first seasons and it was *fine* because they were given time to grow #the fuckin cw verse never had a single good season in its entire existence and it still spawned dctv only fans #who are a behemoth and completely removed from the rest of the dc fandom #*all* of merlin's seasons were mid and it still got 5 of them #spn was supposed to end at s5 and got ten more seasons after that #aos season 1 and the first half of s2 were pretty boring but it got to 7 seasons #fucking riverdale!!!!#umbrella academy and stranger things feel like the last gasp of this kind of culture #and they're all drawn out and are dying terrible deaths #we're four years into the 2020s folks are there even *any* big fandom shows that isn't fighting for its life #what? house of the dragon and rings of power?#idk if those count cause house of the dragon is drawing from got power which is kind of a different space from the rest of fandom culture #and uh.... imma be real.... i barely hear anything about rings of power #i guess iwtv is the last survivor and i think it's telling that it's the only one not on a big streaming site!!!!#wait. i forgot bridgerton. yeah. bridgerton is basically the only big fandom show rn. don't know how it made it this far tbh.

I know ppl couldn't care less about the humans in the cgi movies but Zoe and Dr. Rubin were both hilarious characters and the more i rewatch the movies the more i think about that.

#we all know Ian was the best human character simply bc David cross was great on it but i think these two are pretty funny!!#the idea of an adult woman hyping the chipmunks is so adorable and a great way to explain why Alvin nevergot expelled lmao #and zoe was simply hilarious! maybe because i find her out-of-reality personality too appealing #it's such a shame the writers of the cgi movies couldn't write Dave better bc while i don't hate him like other ppl #i do think he is one of the least interesting human characters in all the movies #i don't think it's the actor's fault they just didn't know what to do with his character besides being a strict dad for the chipmunks #but funny enough i do think dave from the cgi series is even more boring despite there are episodes focused on him #i love when he is all affectionate with his sons and the chipettes but he is so bland without that and sometimes way too strict #i still can't believe there is an episode focused on the chipmunks getting scared of Dave knowing they spilled milk #it just shows how many times he has get angry for the most simply things #it doesn't help AT ALL that the show has barely likeable human characters i mean i adore miss smith but i do get why ppl don't like her #miss croner is an amazing contrast to miss miller! but i do think they write her way too aggressive at times #officer dangus is the only character besides miss miller that i find decent without giving a 'but' in the middle #the classmates of the chipmunks.... Yeah we don't talk about them #i would like to go further with the humans characters of the 80's show but i still need to watch a LOT of episodes #but i would say that most of the episodic human characters of the 80's have been pretty nice so far #i loved the old lady that got a date with Alvin!! she was way too sweet with him and i love the way alvin learn his lesson at the end #also it has the best dave so far!! he is a lovely dad and he can be funny on his own way. i can tell he is just doing his best ahaha #aatc #alvin and the chipmunks

i can't say i really have a favourite honestly, it's kind of luck based. i'll usually try to watch streams while i eat food, but if ive run out of the ones i'm interested in watching, it's likely im eating to a much shorter video.
