i was thinking of writing soon but i have a question. does it matter if a fic is written in all lowercase or not? like proper capitalization and whatnot? i'm just curious and wondered what you thought since i really like your work. and what other people thought about this as well

buttt my personal thoughts on the topic is that i don’t mind at all :o i actually never really noticed it until it was pointed out! mine are just lowercase because my keyboard is set to all lowercase hahaha it wasn’t intentional or anything. (although i did read that it’s hard for some to tell where sentences end and whatnot so i recently switched to using caps for my writing > <) (i don’t care too much about the aesthetic so i thought i could make it easier for my readers!!)

^ oh and to add to that! i don’t mind the tiny font either. i do have to look a lil harder because my eyesight is bad, but it’s not a bad thing (for me!). im the one who chose not to wear my glasses so it’d be an easy fix if i wanted to see better. also the plus side is that i have to scroll a little less (: bc it’s all there!

tldr : i really don’t mind!! i don’t mind tiny font, lowercase, normal caps, colored text too. maybe i would react some way if someone wrote a fic in all caps LIKE THIS bahahha but tbh i wouldn’t mind that either. i really don’t have a preference ^ ^ <3

There's something hilarious about how so much subsequent media has positioned Vampires and Werewolves as, like, binary opposite entities, and then you read Dracula (1897) and realize that wolves are that guy's preferred solution to every problem. You'd say something to Dracula about "ah yes, werewolves, vampires' great eternal enemies," and he'd just be like "you mean my subcontractors?"

I know I don’t owe any of you anything but I still felt compelled to write about my long term absence. And I feel far enough away from the dangerous spot I was in to be able to make this comic. I have a therapist now, and she agreed that making this could be a very cathartic gesture, and the start of properly leaving these thoughts behind me. I am still, at seemingly random times, blindsided by fleeting desires to kill myself. They’re always passing urges, but it’s disarming, and uncomfortable. I worry sometimes that my brain’s spent so long thinking only about suicide that it’s forgotten how to think about anything else. Like, now that I've opened that door for myself, I'll never be able to fully shut it again. But I’m trying my best to encourage my mind in other directions. We'll see how that goes.

I am still donating all proceeds from my store to Palestinian causes. So far, I've donated over $15K, not including donations coming from my own pocket or the fundraising streams which jointly raised around $10K. In the time since I made my initial post about where this money would be going, the focus has shifted from aid organisations to directly donating to escape funds.

If you'd like to do the same, you can look at Operation Olive Branch, which hosts hundreds of Palestinian escape funds or donate to Safebow, which has helped facilitate the safe crossing and securing of important medical procedures for over 150 at-risk palestinians since the beginning of the genocide.

I remember discussing Tintin casting choices with a friend from Germany and remarked how it was odd he often has an English accent in adaptations rather than a Belgian one, and my friend just replied "that's because Tintin gives incredibly strong English boy energy (derogatory)"

Here in the UK there's a lot of weird classism tied into accents. Today accent diversity and representation in broadcasting is actively pursued but in Tintin's time there certainly was a preferred accent to have.

the thing about trying to recommend fiction podcasts to someone who isn't familiar with them is that not only are so so many genres represented but also the level of production can fall anywhere from "basically an audiobook" to "major motion picture minus the pictures"

Bookmark the fic with a note about what you’re excited about/love in the fic

Draw art or create other media for the fic (as indicated by the author’s comfort level)

Leave them a comment when re-reading about the parts of the chapter/story that stood out to you the second time
