siege of dragonspear is so fun :’) i did enjoy bg1 a lot but the lack of party banter and general dialogue opportunities bummed me out for sure; it’s so fun to regularly hear from the little guys i love so much!

"I mean, I'm the hero of Baldur's Gate, right?" said Briar, as though this title alone solved any potential problems that would be created through summoning extraplanar beings. "I can probably kill it if it's a problem. We can probably kill it," she happily corrected herself. "Have you seen Corwin and her arrows? She could give Immy a run for her money for sure! And she's in charge of bodyguarding me!" She blinked a few times, grinned, and said with a significant lip bite, "She can guard my body any day, right, Minsc?"

"Do not respond to that," Dynaheir instructed Minsc.

"Boo says the exact same thing," Minsc agreed grimly.

Excellent. Dynaheir was on the same page as the rodent. "Thou needs to act with caution and care," she tried, "befitting a hero of Baldur's Gate--"

"Um, the hero of Baldur's Gate," said Briar, "who's so responsible that Jaheira was totally fine with letting me handle myself unsupervised! And I'll have you know I've been having, like, so many adventures since you last saw me--"

"In the ducal palace?" said Dynaheir skeptically.

Briar ignored this entirely. "Plus anything I do is technically befitting the hero of Baldur's Gate," she continued, "because I am the hero of Baldur's Gate, and defeated Sarevok in a way that alllll the bards are singing about--"

"Just you," said Dynaheir. "All the time. For some reason."

"You sound so much like Jaheira right now," said Briar affectionately. "Makes this feel like a real adventure."

Being in a fandom for 20+ years is weird because you’ll see posts like, “How come I never see people mention x” and it’s like. We did. We talked about that a lot, actually. Actually it’s something that came up. And it’s hard not to be like, “Yeah, we discussed this fifteen years ago.” Half of this fandom wasn’t even born when these discussions happened. Wild.
