Surely you've heard of it?" line is funny as fuck but also shoutout as always to the way Ramon Tikaram delivered it because as someone who has had to come out in an unfamiliar/unsafe environment before due to someone else's ignorance I felt the defensive hackles being raised in the desperate humour of that line. like I vividly remember several awful experiences of having to out myself with a joke in an attempt to ease the tension of possible homophobia and disgust I could smell from a mile away and it always comes out louder and more impassioned than intended. I love when Dan gets political because I feel like the whole youtuber thing makes us forget just how genuinely intelligent he is. Like he got into LAW SCHOOL after cramming for his exams in a day. He is incredibly eloquent and thoughtful. The “omg imagine if Dan actually became a lawyer” memes are funny, but he absolutely always had the skills required to do so successfully.

Youtube is obviously his vocation and he has an equally strong sense of comedy, but like man I just really love appreciating how smart he is!!

Okay so I'm not generally a sports person but I can't stop thinking about all the ways the foxes revolutionized exy. For example, the way their tiny team structure made them focus on endurance and coordination rather than brute force? Amazing. And related to that, the way that they adapted by training players to fill multiple positions? That must have had huge implications for how they understood other players needs and allowed for flexibility of they needed someone's specialty in a different position (see the final game). BUT ALSO the way Kevin and Neil specifically shook up the game was insane. Kevin being ambidextrous and using it to make his moves unpredictable. Using heavyweight racquets to put more strength behind their shots. Communicating only in French so opponents don't get any warning but they're still in sync with each other. I'll bet you anything other teams were scrambling to catch up and figure out how to play like the foxes did

we really don't talk enough about how cesare (who proclaims himself to be honorable) actually has an extreme level of self-absorption and narcissism. they jump out on different situations especially in his vindictive sexual harassment of the women he slept with for wounding his ego. like his abuse of ursula (who was deceived by his chivalrous façade) for leaving him and taking a will of her own vs. his aggressive grabbing of caterina's breast when she taunted him at his sister's wedding (shows that he's still bitter over her rejecting him at forli).

i think the most deranged example of majima's "do everything yourself" control freakisms is that he needed an idol, because he was so cynical and had no faith in anyone or anything after y0, he needed someone he could put his faith in and who would continuously inspire him, and he saw kiryu as a potential candidate and he Turned kiryu into that. he was like. ok. you. you're going to be my personal jesus. im turning you into him. and then he trained and mentored kiryu into becoming the strongest guy around so kiryu wouldn't lose what makes him special. because majima needs him to stay that way. because he needs hope and inspiration. because everything in his life is so bleak. but he did that. he did that by himself. he just decided that he was gonna do that and did it with no input from kiryu
