she takes an airship to a city she's never visited before. it looks like the perfect mixture between piltover and zaun. there are no great buildings or statues, no grand bridges over polluted waters; but also no trash-infested streets, no beggars in corners, no policemen abusing children.

I wouldn't have drawn them in the first place if those words didn't come straight from Ai's mouth. For me, it's Ai's say on this that's really sold it for me because it meant so much. To realize she really loved him so much.

That he can't live without her, yeah there is NO WAY I wouldn't have had a heart for a relationship like that. I'll never regret having found good things about them. I'm always nuts about characters who care deeply about one another and share an unseverable bond. They did a really wonderful job formulating their character and I still appreciate it a lot... That's how I've been able to draw so many of them in the first place. They're so confusing.. But I still could/can find so many things about them. It's great.

But the authors better do them justice. They're also victims of child abuse and reflect the real pains of what people actually go through in an industry, I want them to handle them with care because what they carry is heavy.

And I see it. I know they can do it. I know how they can take away a meaningful message regarding these guys, I can do it, so I know they can, they're way more capable and skilled than I am. They can write a good story, so they should just do it.

But there's so little left. Late, too. Even a real god may not be able to save this work, who knows. I wish something happens so I'll willingly buy the final volume of this piece. I want that to happen so I keep expressing my feelings about it, if I had none left, I'd have just moved on. I know what it's capable of. It's right there...I see it. So I hope they do it.

If they don't...then, I've studied this piece pretty hard so I'll probably be able to think of something. It won't be comparable or nearly as good but, that's also something I can do. The bright side is that since there's only a single chapter left- that'd mean.. Things won't flip that drastically within the remaining pages(idk if that's a good or bad thing but for hikaru fans ehh...I doubt things would get any worse than it is because they're STILL keeping that stance that what he's contributed is STILL pretty vague. It's STILL speculations?? So what the heck did he do. Like...why make him say he "didn't do anything" and "didn't want anyone to get hurt" before they dunk him in the waters. VINLAND SAGA POST PART 2

( part 1 here )

Spoilers for vinland saga (anime season 2 events and the rest of the manga)

After the whole guest situation (again pls do not read this if you haven't read part 1) Thorffin goes back to his wheat field and when they need a horse for the work they meet an old man who helps them (not very important for the analysis I'm doing but he will be later). They (Thorffin and Einar) then manage to plant wheat on a small part of the field, where they had already taken out the trees (it was a forest initially), and go to help the old man do his house tasks (he lends them a horse it return, so no slave work ig)

While Thorffin and Einar are fixing the old man's roof he says this

He says that without his hatred (what fueled him to stay alive) he has no other desires , and that he knew nothing else but war. He also no longer hates Askellad, bcs let's be very honest Askellad likes Thorffin and that flashback panel is Thorffin realising that (imo).

Then the old master asks then to fish for them and

The bottom panel is very, very important, I think. You can't pour water into a cup full of juice. You take out the juice, wash the cup and then pour water (this is a metaphor I am aware you can just keep pouring water and the juice will come out, but then again, which on is easier and wastes less water?).

Thorffin in this moment is an empty cup waiting near the dishwasher, about to be washed.

After that (the next day if I remember right) Thorffin and Einar are heading for their wheat field to check on it and find that it has been destroyed by the farmhands, who thought slaves didn't deserve to work the same as them. While Einar's reaction is rage and revenge, Thorffin suggests they instead talk to Patel (the person responsible for helping them) and when Einar trys to go regardless he talks to him

THIS SPEAKS LEVELS ABOUT THORFFIN'S EVOLUTIONS AS A PERSON. When he was first fueled by revenge, he now sees that "revenge will bring nothing good" and OMG, THAT IS WHAT HE NEEDED TO KNOW. Then they go talk to Patel, and he talks to the farm's master and when they are coming back, they meet the farmhands responsible for it, and Einat gets MAD and the farmhands story insulting them and then this

Oh my!! Einar is going to punch him!! They are going to be punished, after all, they are slaves attacking free men!! And then

THIS. (not what I am here to talk about but the art, the movement, and if you scroll back to the last image you can SEE Thorffin coming in front of Einar, which I only noticed now tbh AND IT US PURE ART PERIOD. )

Thorffin, who a while ago seemed so eager to peace and non violence punches the guy. Why? Why?? Because (imo, I can't say this is right bcs I myself have no very certain theories) he

1. knew Einar was going to do it anyway and wanted to take the blame and spare him

2. he was going to do it better (his jaw dislocated alr, that was a GOOD punch)

And after the punch it is this

His face. His eyes (look at them reaaaal close). Rage. Perhaps a sense of accomplishment. Also the fiery effect coming from him, that makes it very clear: he was ANGRY. Then he realises what he did, and the Japanese characters next to him are not translated but they spell "hata" (I've been learning Japanese so I didn't use a translator, so pls tell me if it's wrong bcs I am trusting my gut rn) which if you say that with the expression he has (go ahead say it ("ha" as in "ha-ha-ha" and "ta" as in "tartar)) you can realises that was a "oops" kind of thing, and was him realising that he did in fact punch that guy and that would have consequences. CONSEQUENCES. His violence had consequences. That's an important idea to, at least for me.

As the farmhands fight back, Einar starts, for short, to beat them up, and one of them knocks Thorffin out while he was trying to warn Einar to do nothing (reason no. 1 why he punched the guy), and as he is knocked out he sees this

THIS LADY is a woman he met in England while he was with Askellad, and she saw him wounded, took him in, fed and clothed him and combed his hair and then he had to carry on his work of giving a signal to the rest of the vikings to attack the village, not without telling her to run away. AND SHE DOESNT. SHE GOES AFTER HIM AND SEES HIM KILLING MEN WHO WERE AFTER HIM AND

They just... look at each other. It is that same face (artstyle changes excluded ofc, I'm talking abt the expression) that looks at him while he falls. A face of someone who lived him and treated him like a son. Someone who he cared for. Someone that, a few pages ahead, he seems not too bothered with, but that did bother him. She was NOT a faceless death (her death is hinted at the end of the chapter, with a broken comb). This is oh so important, and I know I say everything is important but it is. It is.

honestly, i've been thinking about honesty lol. i've realised that a lot of what i've been doing is to see a manifestation or feel love. but i never wanted to admit it. i might not ever have any """evidence""" for why i am pure awareness - my ego wants to understand. but i've moved on from trying to make it understand or convincing it. its perfectly fine as it is. it can walk, it can intelectualise (something that i actually want to stop doing with nd!), it can talk. thats okay with me. i don't want to demand or force anything more of it. i know what happens when i force my mind to do something, its a complete mess. i know that for the manifestations i want, that it requires me not to be a body-mind. it require something more. something timeless, boundless, etc. i cannot demand that from my body or mind. so i've decided to move past them, work with them when needed and soothe them when needed.

doing the inner work, depending on your ego, might be a thing you need to do (in fact i'd say that everyone needs to do it). its hard to just force yourself to disbelieve and detach. especially when forcing is not what you're supposed to do.

today was so wild it went from being so extremely shitty and thinking I wasn’t getting out of bed to then extremely grateful because I turned my day around and was glad to be alive to then nearly being bashed on a bus lmao nothing went to plan today and I didn’t end up getting my banh mi because I ate a brekky burger right before I left (and also I went in the opposite direction to the place I was gonna eat from) but positives of today are that I went to chadddy (biggest shopping centre (aka mall for international moots) in not just aus but the southern hemisphere if you didn’t know except it’s also my local like 10mins away) and I bought a few random useful bits and bobs from miniso and daiso <33 and I also bought a few random drinks from a supermarket in the shopping centre cause I’d never seen said drinks before and one thing about me I love trying one off random drinks and then I came home and FaceTimed one of my brothers and marinated some tempeh for tomorrow cause apparently I’m in my cooking era which is extremely suss of me???? (but I’m sure it’ll die off in a week when uni is back) but it’ll be interesting to see how it tastes tomorrow in a stirfry - the marinade was basically honey soy & garlic (I don’t follow recipe bc my adhd brain could never so I just make it up myself but I also wanna experiment w this a bit over next few days and come up w the perfect marinade I reckon) also did a random face mask and hair mask and ate lotsa meals ofc.. I do however wish I drank a little more water but it’s only like 8pm there’s still time!!!! I can’t believe tomorrow is Monday (last week before uni classes are back), I think tomorrow’s goals are to cook the mince in my fridge I bought for burritos to freeze and to try the tempeh in a stir fry also and to drink more water and maybe go for a walk cos I didn’t really do that today other than in the shopping centre which honestly counts bc I always get lost tryna find my way out despite having been there 99449483722 times bc I am directionally challengedlol… anyways, as a whole I feel like this exact same day I would have said was shit or mid at most in the mindset I was in before I started my daily positive things tag cos inevitably w my health rn there is a shit element in every day but I’m slowly shifting my mind to realise that’s an element of the day (though it does infiltrate all of it in a way Ssshh) and there are many other elements and actually I’m not mad that I’m here for the good elements.. I’m also like allowing myself to partake in the good elements which has been a little unexpected!! still as isolated as ever and hate the cold but so far this winter is feeling more manageable than ever before!! (maybe bc I’m not trying to come off a certain med like I try to this time every year even tho I so desperately want to but like extreme insomnia is the result of that and ruins eberything so idk if wanna risk it rn ahhhhh) I know it’s not much for a lot of ppl but I feel like I’m doing so much(for me) than this time last year and the year before and many years before when I couldn’t even get myself out of bed let alone do more than one task (I really hope I can keep this going when uni is back) ok imma quit yappin now

oohh how about the powerscaling? since the pjo gods are a lot stronger than the ror ones, besides the semi immortality of the rors, are you giving them the same powers? sorry for the many questions 😅 separating 3 different canon, myths ror and pjo, are just a bit confusing

I haaaaaated how the ror gods were not very... god-like?? like, first of all, why is their blood RED? where is the ICHOR??? second of all, WHY WERE THEIR POWERS SO LIMITED??

It seems to me that every character was designed to only have one ability, even the gods. adam had his mimicry, zeus had his weird form stuff, etc etc. the gods didn't even use any of their actual powers from their actual domains (like poseidon not using water, hades not controlling the dead, zeus not using lightning etc)

i def like the way rick wrote the gods cuz not only were they powerful, but they were actually GODLY compared to the ror verse.

but on the other hand, the ror gods have those crazy ass feats that you only ever see in shonen and seinen animes.

for example, adam and zeus' speed feats. those guys were moving so fast that the other gods couldn't even see it. according to the manga, adam surpassed a move that surpassed time, i don't think any character in pjo can do that. hell, even the ror humans are more physically enhanced compared to the demigods in rick's books.

(but another thing that irks me is how inconsistent the manga was with the gods. the narrator goes on about how powerful the gods are, and how this god and that god can destroy planets, etc. but then... they say shiva's dance can burn the universe, but it was like a lil fireball against raiden smh 🙄)

anime/manga speed feats, strength feats, durability feats, etc. almost always beats any physical feats written in books because mangaka's looove to make characters so ridiculously OP lmaooo. in the pjo books, the characters' abilities are very underwhelming if you compare it to the physical feats in the anime/manga like i mentioned above

one thing that really screws the pjo gods over is that they need demigods to keep themselves in existence. belief is a very important thing for the gods. they need demigods not only to do their dirty work, but they need their belief too. in the first book, the western civilization thing chiron mentioned is also hella important. they need to keep the 'heart of the western civilization' alive so they can stay alive, else they'd fade away like previous gods have

meanwhile, the ror gods do not need that. yes they are susceptible to death (they need a divine weapon tho, so killing them won't be simple), but they don't require humans or demigods to believe in them. it's shown in their genocidal nature. they can destroy all of humanity and nothing will happen to them, meanwhile if pjo gods destroyed all of humanity, they would fade away because there's nothing to keep them alive

in my fic, i will make the ror gods seem more godly (cuz they're supposed to be fucking GODS for fucks sake omg 😤).

rn, the one thing the pjo gods have over them is that their immortality is actually, you know, legit. they cannot die, only fade away. but the one thing that ror gods have over them is that they do not need humanity to keep their existence, it's why they can destroy them over and over again.
