A swap au idea with a Prince-ish Branch! It was an idea I had that I got around to drawing a bit ago. Yeah I definitely think he would’ve grown up a much different person, cause he wouldn’t have relied on himself to survive, he wouldn’t experience the constant fear of the many ways he could get hurt or die

He definitely wouldn’t have starved on negativity cause he didn’t know how to balance it anymore

And if he was actually raised by a loving parent that’s actually present in his life to guide him through it enough to find a healthy outlet for the horrors he experienced, as well as help him with his emotional, mental, and physical health a lot better, his life would be a lot easier

I think he still would be a lot more grumpy and a bit aggressive than he was before the corruption, and the Apple incident would still have a great impact on his psyche, he’d still hold a bit of fear inside, but that fear won’t end up guiding all his actions, and it definitely wouldn’t lead to him becoming power hungry, doing whatever he deems necessary to obtain it

Hell, even with how the corruption twists his happiness from something pure to finding joy in the misery of others, I still think with a loving parent raising him, he will find healthy outlets to his emotions, whatever they may be

I think he might eventually tell his parent figure about what happened with him, with his mother, with his twin, maybe even Dream would find himself in a lot better circumstances when he awakens from stone, finding a brother patiently awaiting him, finding himself waking up in warm welcoming arms, I definitely think it’ll contribute to the twins’ relationship being a lot better, a lot healthier

Their trauma would still put a few wrenches in their journey, but it definitely wouldn’t go so sour and bitter, Nightmare would be a lot more open towards Dream’s love and affection, hatred won’t taint his heart and cause their relationship to go so wrong

Generally, I definitely think it’ll be a lot more fluffy and slice of life-ish, which is super wholesome to think about

Now as for Blue specifically being the father figure, only two words, FUCK YES.

But I feel like, as a very traumatized lil child who doesn’t know any better, who had adults hate, hurt and even try to kill him, Nightmare would simply not trust Swap, not immediately

So it’d be really fun to see Nightmare actually warm up to Swap first way before he takes Nightmare in to raise and take care of him, it’d be fun to see what Swap might do to gain Nightmare’s trust enough for Nightmare to even let him within 10 meters without running away immediately or attacking him

May I also present some suggestions for another parental figure that could be really fun to explore? Color, I’d love to see him take care of a little newly corrupted Nightmare dhhdhdhd

you guys got back from hawaii two days ago, but the triplets are staying in boston for an extra week before going back to LA.

“do not barge in there—” she scolds again, but it’s too late when the door swings open.

the three of them stand there panting, while marylou looks at them with her hands on her hips. it doesn’t end there; trevor comes running in and jumps on your bed.

his tail wags as he climbs onto your lap, leaving kisses on your face.

nick turns to her. “she’ll survive, mom.”

she sighs, walking out of your vision. your brothers stare at you like you’re in trouble. “we need to talk.” chris says, crossing his arms.

“about?”

they side eye each other. “you and nate.” matt says.

you clear your throat, trying not to barf everywhere. “w-what do you mean?”

you laugh, followed by an exhale. words cannot explain how much you love this kid. even though it was a hard launch to the public, you’re happy that you can show him off now. to make sure people know he’s yours and you’re his.

hopefully, no threats or killings take place by your overprotective siblings.

The general idea for that webcomic was that it all takes place inside the broken mind of a comatose girl. (This cliché plot is what made me drop it rather quick) But anyways- so all the characters in this world are based on things in her real life.

The clown character is meant to be apart of a species of clowns. They're shapeshifters of sorts. And the shadowy figure is his true form/a beast that he can transform into if needed. This clown character is supposed to be her minds version of her dad. Someone one who always made her laugh and was very friendly. But was also very capable of protecting her.

Now the owl... I was thinking that one night before she fell into her coma.. she saw a barn owl outside her bedroom window. But due to the surrounding darkness, she could only see its head. She ended up feeling like/imagining that all the darkness out there around it was its body.

So now in her dream scape, this black shapeshifting beast stalks the group from afar. Contorting its body into various shadowy bugs and furry creatures. But always keeping its owl face...

He only knows as much as I do, So unfortunately I'd say no 😅 I'm unfamiliar with Skeletor. But Papyrus on the other hand...👀

Some characters will stay evil and will have no redemption. For example Silas, Airachnid and Megatron will see no redemption. And I cant see any world where TFP Soundwave would work with the Autobots.. same thing with Starscream and his brothers.

As for most of those dramatic battles and moments, most of it will be remedied by "they actually survived the fight and got a second chance."😅

My favorite bot character is Ratchet :)) but Bulkhead is a very close second. I just cant help but love the grumpy old bot. He pretends to not like the kids and be annoyed by the others antics. But the truth is his spark is full of nothing but love and dedication to his team. And he would give up everything he is/has to protect any of them. 🧡

My favorite human characterrr..... well, usually its Miko, but only when she's being really sweet/cute with Bulkhead. "I'll never forget you.." "I wanna be just like you Bulk!" "I cant Bulk, I gotta get you outa here!" "We cant leave Bulkhead! "(Run Miko!) Miko's brow frows and she tears up"

But aside from those moments she can get on my nerves sometimes <XD So for that reason I think Jack is my favorite human character. He never gets on my nerves and I like how much he's matured over the series.

Now favorite duo... ooo that's a good question. It'll have to beeee... uhhh.. man. Its a tough pick. I like Ratchet and Optimus, Bulkhead and Wheeljack are always fun.. but man, Bulkhead and Miko just hits different.

Arcee: "A scout must be silent but deadly" (Miko and Bulk both snicker and laugh). "That's my girl!" "I'm never leaving your side again.." The two of them together just makes my heart swell 😭💞💞

Yeah I was surprised that "Orion" wasn't more shocked and devastated at being told that his dear friend Ratchet and him were at war. And for this long..

I wish we had a moment where Ratchet got to explain everything to him. Or better yet- can you imagine if Orion was told all this horrible stuff about Ratchet, and then somehow he has a brief encounter with Ratchet? Maybe he was on the battle field and saw Ratchet in the distance, gingerly helping Bee to his feet.

Then they lock optics, and Ratchet looks devastated. His optics are full of worry and sorrow. The way he protectively shields Bee from gunfire.. he just cant see the blood thirst war criminal that Megatron described.

Maybe after that he would start to really become suspicious of Megatron and start to figure things out..

also, i finally made up a personality for him too hehe so i'm gonna ramble about him for a bit

axiandros is the first born posy kid and he was actually pretty decent when he was younger!!! percy raised him to be kind and human, and he was!!!!

....until he got older and poseidon sunk his claws in him 💀

unfortunately, displeasing his father has more severe consequences than displeasing his mother. pissing poseidon off would lead to all kinds of verbal, physical, and psychological abuse whereas with percy he would more or less get a stern lecture about right or wrong. the latter's a lot easier to cope with 💀

he's the eldest too so he was the first kid to experience first-hand what it means to disappoint his father. not only that, but he's poseidon's FIRST EVER SON. poseidon absolutely refuses to except ANY flaws from his own first-born. he must be perfect, or he'll get rid of him.

so out of fear, when he was still young, he started to obey to his father more. he became less kinder, less sweeter, less like a "normal kid" and more like a god. he worked his ass off to make zero mistakes in everything he did. he tossed aside all of percy's teachings and values because being like that only led to more abuse. but soon enough, being "perfect" became less of a way for him to survive and more natural as he gradually started to absorb more and more of poseidon's ways until it actually became who he was. and thus, a yandere was born 😔💔

as i mentioned before, eudorios basically has the percy's 🥺uwu🥺 he's ditzy, lovable, charming, a giant himbo, he's basically PERCY but 1000000x more unhinged

but nobody knows that eudorios is actually unhinged. to the other gods, he's just a sweetiepie, a percy 2.0 with poseidon's face. he's the "angel" of the posy kids just like his mommy

and axiandros. fucking. HATES it 😭😭😭😭 eudorios is imperfect. he's flawed. he makes mistakes. he's stupid. ridiculous. rarely takes anything seriously. he likes humans (eudorios actually sees them more as cute and dumb creatures but they don't know that 😭)

and worse off, percy ADORES him 😂😂😂 he can't stand it. he's forced to watch his beloved mother dote on his failure of a little brother despite him already being grown. she smothers him with love and spends so much time with him, and axiandros is JEALOUS.

poor dude longs for the old days where percy used to dote and baby him, but that was back when he was still innocent and sweet. he's become a monster now, and percy sees how different he is, how cruel he's become and it breaks her heart 😭💔 she never says it out loud though, she still treats him well. but she doesn't BABY him anymore. doesn't shower him with love and affection anymore, but not because she doesn't love him, but because she believes he doesn't want that 😭 he's poseidon jr now, nobody would ever think he wants to be coddled and treated like a baby 💀💀💀

but anyway, the dory and axiandros beef is so fucking funny and also really sad. because axiandros did everything he could to earn his father's approval, but he's lost his mother's affections. he doesn't get it and it drives him crazy. he's "perfect", so why doesn't mother love him as much as she loves eudorios???

Sylus had made a grave mistake. A mistake so cruel, so unforgivable, that Luke, Kieran, and even Mephisto the crow saw no other choice but to take extreme measures.

He had banned them from eating too much sugar.

The betrayal stung deep. The twins had stared at Sylus in horror when he confiscated their chocolate bars, his cold, merciless voice ringing in their ears. “You’ve had enough for today.”

Enough? *Enough?*

Mephisto, perching dramatically on the back of a chair, had let out an offended caw, wings flaring in outrage. Even he, a majestic bird of darkness, would not stand for such injustice.

So they did the only logical thing.

They ran away.

To your house. 💀

You had just settled down with a book when your door burst open, nearly flying off its hinges. Before you could process what was happening, Luke and Kieran had thrown themselves onto your couch, dramatically sprawled out like two tragic heroes. Mephisto, meanwhile, gracefully landed on your shoulder, letting out a low, mournful caw as if the weight of the world rested on his tiny feathered soul.

You blinked. “Uh. Are you guys okay?”

“Sylus…” Luke wheezed.

“…has forsaken us,” Kieran finished, throwing an arm over his face.

Mephisto solemnly nibbled on your ear, adding to the dramatics.

You frowned. “What did he do?”

“He took our chocolate,” Luke whispered, voice filled with betrayal.

Kieran clutched his chest. “Said we couldn’t have too much sugar.”

You stared at them. “Oh.”

Mephisto cawed once more, clearly expecting you to share in their devastation.

You…tried to be sympathetic. You really did. But the sight of them looking like they had just survived a war over candy was too much.

“So let me get this straight,” you said. “You guys ran all the way here… because Sylus won’t let you binge-eat sugar?”

“YES.”

“Absolutely.”

Mephisto fluffed up, glaring at an invisible Sylus in the distance.

“…You guys are so dramatic.”

Before they could argue, another knock came at the door—this time, polite.

You sighed. “That’s him, isn’t it?”

The twins let out exaggerated gasps, clutching each other. Mephisto’s beady eyes locked onto the door as if Sylus himself was a harbinger of doom.

“YOU CAN’T MAKE US GO BACK!” Kieran cried.

Luke grabbed your hand. “YOU WON’T BETRAY US, RIGHT? WE’RE SAFE HERE.”

“I—what???”

The door opened, revealing none other than Sylus. He stood there with his usual deadpan expression, arms crossed, looking every bit the disappointed parent.

“…You ran away over candy?” he asked flatly.

The twins didn’t answer.

Mephisto let out the weakest, most *pathetic* caw you had ever heard, flopping against your head like he had just *perished* from heartbreak.

Sylus pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Come on,” he sighed. “Time to go home.”

“No,” Kieran said.

“Never,” Luke added.

Mephisto made a defiant *honk* noise that wasn’t even a proper caw.

Sylus stared at them. Then, his lips curled ever so slightly into a smirk.

“Alright,” he said casually. “Then I guess I’ll just have to leave without you guys. And without your bestie.”

“…Huh?” You blinked in confusion.

Sylus tilted his head. “Well.... If they came back, you’d have a sleepover at our place.”

You whipped your head toward the twins. “Excuse me???”

Luke and Kieran sat up SO FAST, their betrayal immediately forgotten.

“WE GET A SLEEPOVER?”

Sylus nodded. “If you come back now, and this bestie of yours will join us too”

You stared at them. You have GOT to be kidding me.

The twins turned to each other. Then to Mephisto, who gave them a slow, wise blink, as if saying "It is time, brothers".

Without hesitation, they *IMMEDIATELY* ran to Sylus, completely abandoning their rebellion.

“LET’S GO HOME.”

“YEAH, SLEEPOVER NIGHT!”

Mephisto flapped after them, no doubt already scheming which shiny objects to steal from your pockets later.

You just stood there, dumbfounded.

“…Did I just get sold out for a sleepover?”

Sylus just smirked, reaching out to grab your wrist. “Let’s go. You belong to us now.”

“…Wow.”

As you were dragged off, you swore you heard Mephisto cackle.

Well I don't have any doodle ideas for you atm lol but I am curious as to what are your views or hcs on the twins relationship in general? Like do you seem as being close or do you think that they're distant with each other depending on the continuity?

omg thank you for asking me this bc i have sooo many thoughts about their relationship across the different continuities fhskjfds (i even made a gdoc filled with my analysis and summary of their different origins and relationship dynamics lmao 💀 i feel so unwell) so—!!!

I definitely think they can be either close or distant OR in-between depending on the continuity! I like it that way anyway bc it keeps things fresh and exciting. Plus who doesn't love the usual sibling angst? :D Like for example, they're clearly close in G1, and in IDW we all know they have a very rocky relationship and became distant at some point before eventually reconciling, meanwhile in Aligned they're a bit distant but still familiar with each other.

I just really love twin dynamics man, whether they're inseparable or are on opposing sides, or not getting along very well due to clashing personalities and ambitions or can't live without the other. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker happens to fall in various categories in both canon and fanon depending on where you look, but for me...I like them when they're close but don't always get along hehe. It adds so much to their dynamic because them having different views on things but still stubbornly care about each other because they're family is sooo so good omg

It's hard to specify the exact hc I have for them bc for me it's entirely dependent on their origin and the world they live in...for example in TF One they were (probably) constructed cold as miners and since we don't have enough canon info about them, we can make up our own :D

TF One

Like what if the twins came online at different times and only found out they were split sparks later on? How does this affect their dynamic? And imagine Sunstreaker who's only in Tier 3 struggling to get the resources he needed to survive so Sideswipe has to chip in? It would create such a delicious angst especially when you take into account Sunstreaker's ego in not wanting to need help even from his own brother, and Sideswipe feeling so run down and pissed bc his brother isn't making their lives any easier either by being an ass to everyone and himself. What if they were close when they were miners but grew distant as the war grew worse and they kept being stationed in different places? The war changing them until they couldn't recognize each other...

That's one example! But in general, I really love when there's tension between them sometimes but they still try to look out for one another bc they've been through so many things together and built that bond. I also love when they need each other but are also suffering from it and so they would need to either work it out or go on their separate ways, like siblings in real life. And I also adore when they're a package deal and are in sync, that they would kick other people's asses for messing with them, when the only one who truly understands them is each other—there's just sth so satisfying about this dynamic.

My heart's big enough to love different versions of them idk what else to say 😭💖

Anyways, I'll talk about my views/analysis of their relationship in each continuity one by one, so if any of you are interested feel free to keep on reading!

IDW

In this universe, the twins has a very imbalanced and unhealthy dynamic, where Sunstreaker has a much higher standing between them compared to Sideswipe because he was his Training Officer. They were clearly close at one point, bc Sideswipe cared enough to tag along to watch the gladiatorial fights to accompany Sunstreaker, but this dynamic of theirs as well as Sunny's strictness and dismissive attitude towards SIdes evidently put a massive crack in their relationship, filling Sides with contempt and an obsessive need to prove himself and his worth to his brother.

Megatron Origins #2 and #3

Their relationship was so broken, so much so that Sideswipe didn't even care to continue his "rescue mission" on Earth and left his missing brother there, because he never went because he was genuinely worried in the first place. (I'll come back to this later) He was finally at peace and saw his own worth, and had no more reason to stay on Earth. He was free.

Spotlight: Sideswipe

Obviously they do reconcile later on, and well- impending death does wonders to make you realize how much your sibling means to you :D I do wish we got to see more glimpses of their lives before the war and afterwards...it's one of my gripes with IDW but oh well 😞 at least we got a few amazing interpretations from fans as to what could've gone between them after Sunstreaker's "death" and resurrection.

I personally like to think that Sideswipe did feel guilty later on about abandoning Sunstreaker back then, especially after finding out what actually happened to him, hence his 180 attitude towards him after the mess the Autobots landed in due to Sunstreaker's betrayal (but he didn't know that yet lol):

All Hail Megatron #7

Look at him trying to get Sunstreaker to open up...so he does care :) but yknow. It's a little too late now.

He could feel the guilt eating him up inside and later on beat up Bombshell in anger now that he knew what had happened to his brother.

All Hail Megatron #12

Later on so many things happened--Sunstreaker's "death", resurrection, Bob acquisition, his PTSD and guilt from having betrayed the Autobots due to his fury and trauma, and we do see them reunited a couple times and reconciling, but we never got another scene dedicated to them until...

The Trasformers Vol. 2 #49, #50, #53

Here are my thoughts and observations on what happened:

1: Sunstreaker rushed to the site as soon as they landed and immediately began to search the rubble for his brother.

2: Sideswipe and Sunstreaker used to write or send videos to each other when they're apart, and they probably stopped doing that some time ago before picking it back up after they reconciled. Specifically some time after Sunstreaker's return to the Autobot ranks following his "resurrection" by Alpha Trion. It wasn't as if they instantly became close, but some kind of attempt was made by both of them to an extent.

3: Sunstreaker speaking in past-tense when referring to Sideswipe, and his expression in the second to last panel of the last image...is probably a sign that he was already trying to distance himself from Sideswipe, that he was forcing himself to accept the reality of their situation even though it was crushing him. *head in hands* Maybe he subconsciously thought it would lessen the pain. We all handle grief differently after all.

...And the time finally came to pull the plug.

Optimus Prime #9

4: The first thing Sideswipe noted when he woke up was that Sunstreaker wasn't there (unlike Arcee who was always there watching over him and made him feel less alone). He felt abandoned. When Arcee mentioned how Sunstreaker should've been there, he tramped down on his obvious disappointment and all his complicated emotions with a too-casual reply, and for the second time, we see him vehemently saying he didn't care if his brother lived or died, that he was sick of having to clean up after his mess, that he hated how he looked down on him, that he--

But Arcee's words were like a cold bucket of ice water thrown on his head. A reminder. It was enough to convince him. He didn't want to let Sunstreaker die, he didn't want to abandon him, not again. Not like he did the first time.

Optimus Prime #9-10

5: Sunstreaker's grief. Do you think he regretted not treating Sideswipe better? To me Sunstreaker sees himself as the best as thus expects the best out of others around him as well, and that's doubly so for his own twin. But that itself caused the rift between them, and I wonder if he regretted it after everything he's gone through.

I wonder if he regretted not staying by Sideswipe's side more, because in case you forgot, the only other person who kept Sides company during his stasis was Arcee and Sunstreaker only returned to perform the mnemopathic projection to ease Sideswipe's passing.

Do you think it was because Sunstreaker didn't want to keep seeing Sideswipe's lifeless form in the tube bc it was just a grim reminder of their hopeless situation? OTL

I know the twin bond doesn't exist in this continuity, but if it did...it would've crushed him even more to feel the other end of the bond die out. I'm actually glad it doesn't exist (but for those of you who hc it does, more power to you hehe) bc it makes things so much harder bc unless you communicate, you genuinely wouldn't be able to repair a relationship you broke. Yes they could have shut the other out of their end of the bond, but I like to think that IDW is a universe where the twins have been pitted against from the start by the narrative, the lack of a telepathic bond further ripping them apart, and it only took two deaths to finally get them to properly reconcile and accept each other.

In this universe, the two learned to be brothers again even if it was too late in the end.

Aligned

Meanwhile in the Aligned continuity, we actually get to see them interact later on in 'Retribution' (the third book of the series) and I found their dynamic there to be pretty fascinating. They didn't seem to be super close, but still close enough to know and tolerate each other. In this universe Sideswipe felt more mature, never letting himself get worked up over Sunstreaker's usual "I'm the best" bs and general arrogance and showing considerable patience (and weariness) faced with his nonchalance. That‘s probably bc in this universe they both were equals in many ways, each of them holding a significant role in the war effort (with Sideswipe being the Ark's best pilot and Sunstreaker a commander of a sizeable troop under him). I'm guessing this is why their relationship didn't deteriorate like in IDW haha

You can tell Sunstreaker also respected Sides enough to wait for his green light before charging off, even though he was clearly dying to go kick some asses, and you could also say that he was trying to alleviate Sideswipe‘s burden by making him trust his judgement. (Or maybe he just really wanted to fight lmao who knows with him)

Their bickering also shows how familiar they are with each other which is always nice to see :D It's not explored as much but from the few interactions we get we can already guess what kind of relationship they have here and I like the more mellow, mature dynamic they have in Aligned. Now if only we got Sunstreaker in WFC too...ha

WFC Trilogy

I mean we kinda did in the WFC Trilogy series I guess? (the animated show in case yall don't know) But that's like a whole nother continuity and we got even less there than in here 😭 but it makes you wonder...did Sunstreaker die and that's why Sideswipe hallucinated about him and was so happy to see him that he went in for a hug ??? LIKE BRO ?????? Let them be happy for once omfg

And how can I not mention G1!!! By this point, the twins have already created their own fanbase build by the fans' hcs and takes that I honestly don't know where to start...

Well, I might as well start with the popular hcs LOL everyone has their own hcs of the twins in G1 specifically but some things seem to have been agreed upon. And the consensus is that they are an absolute terror and wreck havoc in the base, hence the Bots redirects that destructive energy by unleashing them in the front lines against the Seekers specifically (esp considering a huge chunk of the cons is made up of them lmao).

They are glued to the hips most of the times in the series, Sunstreaker being a vain, egotistical and sociopathic bastard who doesn't get along well with others most definitely playing a factor into it. Sideswipe gets along better with others, but only Sunstreaker understood his need for violence and

We even see them arm wrestling to test who‘s stronger, and I headcanon that this is because they only have each other to truly test their battle prowess without holding back. They are highly dangerous and capable warriors who fight flawlessly together, having such well-oiled coordination and developed complex (and risky) maneuvers such as the "Jet Judo" that could fell Seekers from the sky.

In case it wasn't obvious, I'm a HUGE fan of the twins being so terrifying that that's why most of the Autobots avoid them on principle ahaha. But I also love Sideswipe being an absolute menace who can't sit still and needs sth to occupy his time outside of battle hence his need to wreck havoc and pull pranks on unsuspecting bots. Meanwhile Sunstreaker uses his time and energy for himself by taking care of his looks (self-care!) and of course, painting :D

(Fun fact: Sunstreaker was canonically a mural artist in the old Dreamwave comics in case any of you are wondering where Artist!Sunstreaker originated. And Sideswipe was a trader who likes to con his customers LOL that might be where his prankster persona came from)

That being said, they are so so silly in G1 and I wish Sunstreaker's original personality as written on his bio wasn't toned down but well- this IS a kid's show so 😭😭😭

And lastly: the 'twin bond'. I feel like them having the twin bond is sth as old as time itself and I really am not sure when or where it originated. In canon it was only mentioned twice: once in Bayverse (with Skids and Mudflap) and another in TFP (between Dreadwing and Skyquake), but we've sadly never seen it get mentioned anywhere in canon when it comes to Sunny and Sides...damn. But who cares LOL we decide how things work 🫵

I like how the twin bond plays a part in it as well, how they can feel when the other is alive, or how the other feels. I love how in many iterations they can communicate through the bond and bypass comm links, how they can shut the bond and cut the other off if they had a falling out...

Everyone has their own version of how the bond works and I find that to be so beautiful hahha

My headcanons:

I love when they only have each other to rely on, where they trust no one else and prioritizes the other, bc no one else had their backs. They have this kind of...codependent dynamic that I love to see in fictional twins bc it can go so wrong in so many ways.

(Although...I have seen some hcs where Sideswipe would put the Autobot cause above theirs while Sunstreaker wouldn't care less about the Autobots and would choose his brother first...man, I sure love the many flavors of sibling angst :D)

Another favorite headcanon of mine is how Sunstreaker is averse of physical affections even though he would literally die for Sideswipe lmao (he loves himself too much to die for anyone else except his brother), meanwhile Sides is an absolute "casual physical touch !!! :D" bot, so you can imagine how chaotic it would be. I also love when they have their own inside jokes and makes fun of other bots through their bond...Sunstreaker would smirk and creep others out because he's usually scowling, while Sideswipe—who does a good job of keeping his emotions from showing—would laugh out loud seeing the expressions of horror on the other's faces.

And there's just something so wonderful about Sunstreaker who struggles to empathize with others because he's so used to completely feeling the raw emotions from Sideswipe that he can't connect with others because it feels fake or surface level. Sideswipe who can't keep still and is jittery because he needs to move and punch something or someone and Sunstreaker always spars with him without complaint (and he enjoys going all out anyway)

Sideswipe who is the extrovert, managing to befriend a bunch of bots despite his reputation but feels at home at the presence of his brother. Sideswipe who is brash and loud and rough around the edges but hides it well behind a bright smile and a cackling face. Sunstreaker who is the introvert and keeps to himself but goes along with Sideswipe's shenanigans with a roll of his eyes. Sunstreaker who refuses physical touch from others but tolerates Sideswipe's because he was the closest thing to home. The twins being super protective of one another bc it was just them for the longest time.

Sideswipe who enjoys racing outdoors to blow off steam in quiet days in the Ark and forces Sunstreaker to actually go out and not get cooped up in his room all day. They're both competitive af and the race was high in adrenaline and both of them were dirty by the end of it (Sides was practically avoiding getting rammed to the side by his furious brother—it wasn't his fault he fell for one of his traps!), but their race eventually ended at a beautiful place where the sun's orange glow casted an ethereal blanket over the view below (sth he knew his brother would love to paint) and all is forgiven (more or less).

I get so incredibly happy when people bring up the fact that Sunstreaker was a gladiator in the Marvel comics, and even though Sideswipe wasn't mentioned, it makes sense that he was too since they were always meant to be twins. It adds to their terrifying dynamic because they used to be gladiators and I looove it omg

Like in Bayverse, Sideswipe exists but Sunstreaker was only mentioned in the Titans comics by Ironhide, but he does canonically exist! Fuck yeah man. A win is still a win 😭 Just imagine if we could've seen the twins in the big screen bickering and kicking ass together...but I guess that's too much to ask for :/ at least we know that Sides was literally created to fight in the war (a war-build!), and by extension Sunstreaker as well. I can see their dynamic mirroring their relationship in G1, and I know a lot of fans have the same thought as me

Man...I know I could basically make my own continuity like everyone else but...I'm terrible at that LOL and that would require me thinking about every other character too and that would take a lot of energy dhsjkfhs I'm quite content with simply exploring their possible dynamics in different canon universes haha

Levi and his squad somehow discovered that Zeke was alive.

Thinking it might be impossible due the circumstances and because Levi remembered so vividly how he dismembered his head, they couldn’t also discard the possibility — he could regrow his head again, or getting it back again like Eren did.

Thanks to the rumors of the few villages that weren’t affected by the Rumbling — who even denied such an event existed — or better said a description that easily fit into Zeke’s profile, they were walking towards a remote part of the area into the woods, where a big cabin stood out among the mass of trees that surrounded it. It was logical if he had escaped in a place like this, where he couldn’t be recognized so easily — to an ignorant town where people wouldn’t even know what the warrior program was.

“It is a little retired. I’m not surprised, Zeke always knew how to hide so well.” Tired, Pieck said, letting out a sigh.

“Probably doesn’t want to be bothered.” Connie was kicking one of the rocks that were on the floor and walking non-chalantly with his hands in his pocket.

“It seems that you didn’t let him rest in peace, Levi.” Annie sarcastically commented looking at Levi.

“Such a shame I can’t stand up from this damned chair to kick your asses.” Levi roared with seriousness. “I just wanna make sure this fucking monkey man is not planning to do something. Whatever conversation you had with him, Armin, I don’t think you could’ve easily change his mind.”

“I’m not justifying him, but at the end he helped us to stop the Rumbling. Besides, I don’t think he can do anything right now, more less now that Titans don’t exist anymore and his real blood can’t affect us in any way.” Armin argued neutrally about the situation.

“In my honest opinion, it was better to let him live with the guilt of all the stuff he did, right, Mikasa?” Jean cheered her partner, who was walking looking at the green grass, not even in the mood to reply to the joke of her companion and ignoring him in the process.

“Well, we’re here, now what?” Mikasa spit out, giving little circles to the floor and giving a look to the hut in front of them.

“We should knock on the door, Mikasa. It seems that you need to touch some grass time per time…” Connie turned at her as he was, in fact, knocking the door, as if it was normal for them to find out one of their enemies survived an entire catastrophe.

“What an asshole you are...” Reiner mumbled with crossed arms.

“Oh, come on, Reiner...” Connie was a about to give a full answer to Reiner, but it was interrupted.

“Comming…” A femenine voice replied to the knock of the door at the other side of the cabin.

Everyone gazed at each other, checking if they had not been the only ones who perceived that it was indeed a sweet voice.

Then, their suspects were confirmed when you opened the door, watching all the bunch of numerous strangers who seemed confused when they saw you for the first time.

“Oh, good afternoon…” You replied to them, not having enough time to complete your salute because your little children were running all through the house and they almost made you fall.

“Wow, wow, you kids better be careful.” Your husband scolded them, appearing from behind you before watching to those strangers, who in fact, weren’t at all strange to your husband.

“Sorry, daddy.” One of your daughters turns for a while at Zeke, then gets back to her kid’s stuff with her younger brother and still playing all around your house.

“Did he said…?” Connie blurted out empty words in surprise at who they were referring to, pointing inside the house.

Everyone stared to the Zeke of flesh and bone to which they referred so much. The blonde man’s expression faded into surprise and somehow fear to all the squad and all of them were gazing at him with confusion. Everyone looked at each other so deeply you could feel the tension being cutted with a knife.

“Darling, you know all these people?” Now you were the one who gazed at you husband sigh certain confusion.

Your voice turned everyone to reality. Zeke, shaking his head, decided to give a logical answer, going back to his normal self.

“Oh, yes, sweetheart. They are some friends who… I haven’t seen for a long time.”

“You could’ve started from there!” You replied thrilled. “Nice to meet you everyone, my name is Y/N and I'm Zeke's wife,” You shook everyone’s hands in a warm and friendly way. Even if everyone was still pretty shocked with this new revelation, tried to return the greeting the best they could, included Levi, who couldn’t believed Zeke dared to get married with such beautiful woman, “I am very sorry to receive you in this way, but we were already finishing cleaning day.”

“Oh… don’t worry, we weren’t planning to be here much time.” Pieck returned the same kindness to you, staring at Zeke with bewilderment.

“Nonsense, sweety. I was about to cook dinner anyway and I imagine you guys had a long trip to reach us here, so I insist. Any friend of my husband is a friend of mine.” You assured with a sweet voice tone, which made everyone feel trapped into not deny such kindness.

“Uh, well... We appreciate the hospitality, we’ll gladly stay.” Connie replied instantly scratching his head, not even letting any of them all deny again the purpose. They all looked at him angrily, but he didn’t care because he was already hungry.

“Great,” You joined the palms of your hands, “I will make dinner, honey. You can come to help me later. I bet you have a lot to talk about with your friends, so I’ll let you chit chat with them.” You goodbyed him with a kiss on the cheek and closed the door behind you.

“Well, well… It seems that the guy who wanted to sterilize us so as not to bring suffering to the world anymore even has his own family.” Jean mocked the situation while everyone remained serious. The crying of a baby sounded out of nowhere, marking the irony of the matter.

“It seems like you couldn’t wait to have fun all by yourself.” Pieck remarked Jean’s comment.

“Zeke, the baby woke up, can you please take him with you?” You shouted from afar and Zeke was already figuring out how to come out of this recent nightmare — which was worse to put his kid to sleep again.

“So he has kids...” Annie taunted while crossing her arms, letting out a faint “huh”

Has Ash been officially adopted into MC's family yet, or is that something that might happen in the story?

I feel like a great moment to have that is to do it right before Ash confesses their feelings 💀💀💀

MC: You've always been like my brother/sister, and I was wondering if you'd like to make that official.

But for a more serious answer to your first question, I suppose Ash has never been "officially" adopted. When Viktor and Cara died, Luka became both MC’s and Ash’s legal guardians. I suppose he really doesn't want to be considered a parent and thus, come across as trying to replace Viktor and Cara for MC and Ash respectively.

He already struggles with the feeling of guilt for being the only one who survived and now, the one who has been and will be witnessing all the remaining important milestones in both MC's and Ash's lives instead of Viktor and Cara. He sometimes feels like he doesn't deserve this privilege.

Leo the Leader vs Leo the Learner

I know almost every iteration of TMNT emphasizes that the boys cannot properly function as a team without everyone there, especially without their fearless leader.

In terms of cartoons and movies though (as much as I've had time to watch/rewatch), the '03 and '12 series are my personal favorites, with Rise and MM tying for a very close second, because they both acknowledge issues in the team that the characters work to fix. '03 Leo and '12 Leo both struggle to lead the team at significant points in their respective stories, but the manner in which they struggle and what they struggle with differentiate, in a good way mind you.

In the 2003 series, the very first episode opens with Leo already being in the leading position as he tries to keep his brothers from going off script or doing something irreparable while they work to find Splinter. And when they do eventually find themselves in trouble, he's the one to lead them through it and make it back to Splinter in one piece. We see this formula more or less repeat for almost three seasons with a few different variables to spice things up; the brothers look to Leo for guidance, think of a plan of action with their combined efforts, and go from there.

Until the S3 finale.

The boys had times where they wondered if they'd make it out alive, but this was the first where it genuinely seemed like the end for their little family, and Leo could do nothing but watch as they execute their plan to blow up with the starship.

Of course they survive, otherwise we wouldn't have another four seasons💀but that short amount of time was more than enough to scar Leo, physically and emotionally. When he begins closing himself off from everyone, April's the only one to get him to open up and he lays it all out: He feels like a failure of a leader. He wasn't strong enough to protect his family or stop the Shredder, their last resort was going out with a bang, and they had to be saved by the Utroms. It doesn't feel like they won and he doesn't feel like he accomplished anything.

His fears and frustrations manifest into an ever present anger, slowly going from cold to hot, that chooses its target at random. His brothers don't know what to do since they don't seem to know why Leo's behaving this way, nor have they ever seen him like this. And dear Mikey says something that so accurately sums up their team: "...it can’t be fun always being the responsible one, and we’re the ones who really benefit. Raph’s free to not think ‘cause Leo does all the thinking for him. Don’s free to dream, and I’m free to take it easy, all ‘cause Leonardo is busy being responsible enough for all of us."

Mikey knows Leo is cracking under the pressure of his role partly because they've become so comfortable in their own roles, and no one refutes him. They didn't intend for Leo to translate this dynamic into, "everything is on you," but that's how it inevitably turned out over time. One could even argue that them not knowing how to handle this new Leonardo is yet another downside to them getting too comfortable, and it doesn't help that Splinter is the only one (aside from Usagi on one instance) who attempts to help Leo, even when the young turtle is pushing him away.

Things finally boil over when Leo pushes a little too hard though and harms Splinter during training, a regrettable action that clears away the steely air he had around himself for so long.

It's not until Splinter sends him off to see the Ancient One that Leo finally pulls himself out of that bubble of negativity and he accepts that there was nothing more he could've done in their final fight against the Shredder.

He did all that he could, and he can continue doing all that he can for his family.

In a weird way, Karai's violent eviction notice was exactly what everyone needed.

Leo was told his family likely hadn't survived the attack, something he'd spent countless days trying to prevent through relentless training, but he believed they were okay and ultimately found them alive. He wasn't there to protect them, but he sees for himself that they made it out without his help, and this was also a learning experience for the others if you think about it. They've already been shown to be capable of handling situations on their own or in pairs, but this was the first time they had to deal with a huge confrontation as a team without the comfort of their leader behind their shells.

Raph is the one who takes the helm for a brief few seconds and dishes out instructions amid the chaos, telling everyone to split up, find their way out and meet back up on the surface, with one last demand for them to be careful. And when Leo finds him, his distress is palpable; he couldn't find the others and therefore had no idea if they were okay, let alone alive, while he kept himself hidden from Karai's forces. Before this, we see that Raph is willing to make his own plan of action in this series' version of City at War when he doesn't go with Leo's word. But this time, in Leo's absence, we see he's willing to fill in as leader when the situation calls for it, and he realizes he isn't quite cut out for leadership like Leo.

We don't see any significant shift in team dynamics after this, mainly because Leo's inner turmoil from their fight with the Shredder is what caused problems with the team in the first place, but that goes to show that outside influences are what gave birth to the team conflict. Despite me pointing out earlier how Leo shoulders quite a bit not just because of his role but because of his brothers' roles as well, we can see throughout the series that Leo doesn't buckle from the pressure until they're in a situation where he can't effectively perform his role to his satisfaction.

As I mentioned in the beginning, Leo had been a leader in essence and in name for many years before their first home was raided by the Mousers. It makes perfect sense for him and his brothers to be accustomed to it by now.

2012 Leonardo is not used to being a leader. He may undeniably be a leader in essence, and had the drive and desire to be one, but he definitely wasn't a leader in name. The very first episode doesn't even open up with Leo being a leader, let alone with the turtles being a team. Their first time fighting together is a train wreck, and rather than Leo's strong sense of ethics and honor being the catalyst for his recruitment (not at first at least), it's the beginning of their long battle against the Kraang that convinces Splinter to officially deem him the leader of a newly formed team.

Being leader doesn't automatically mean the team will follow or respect you, which is something Leo learns right away thanks to his brothers, with Raph in particular challenging him when they butt heads over their opposing plans and ideals. It's touched upon in Rise of the Turtles Part 2, but Raph's desire to lead isn't a major plot device until New Girl in Town where he gets a taste of how Leo feels everytime he's responsible for his brothers and their wellbeing. However, Raph makes it known that even though he's resigned himself to not being the leader, he still doesn't like being told what or how to do something. Even Donnie challenges Leo when they can't agree on the best course of action in preparation for the Kraang, but Donnie realizes arguing was pointless as the invasion begins without warning and makes the idea of a second base the more favorable option.

His brothers aren't his only test of will though, as there are a handful of times where Leo questions his ability to lead and wonders if Splinter chose the right turtle for the job. Throughout all of that though, the boys ultimately rely on Leo and follow his lead when all is said and done.

Where this Leo truly differs from '03 Leo is that he not only struggles with leading a team that isn't so keen on being led, but he also struggles to grasp that he leads a team.

There are many times in the series where Leo runs off on his own or makes the decision to tackle something himself rather than with help, and that's not out of the norm, especially in comparison to his own brothers and '03 Leo. The problem is that '12 Leo's solo decision making more often than not leads to trouble (we all know the tale of him trying to turn Karai to the good side without informing the team about her). One of the first major examples of this though was in the S1 finale when he takes Splinter's words a little too close to heart and gives his brothers the scare of their life. Granted, him holding back Kraang Prime kept it on the sinking Technodrome, but you get what I'm saying.

His family actively calls him out on this behavior on two separate occasions during S4.

After they'd spent six months with the Fugatoid fighting the Triceratons and racing to collect every piece of the black hole generator before them, Fugatoid reveals that he was the one who made the world ending device, a reveal that lights a flame of betrayal in everyone, especially Raph and Leo. Believing that they're being used by Fugatoid, Leo rides off in a stealth ship on his own and nearly gets himself killed, a move that has his brothers scolding him, with Raph being the most vocal about Leo's idiotic decision: "Leaders are called leaders because they're supposed to lead a TEAM!"

The moment isn't lingered upon for long, but they all make it clear that they're tired of Leo's one man missions. They're a team, so they should plan and function like one.

Then, in Broken Foot, Leo starts doing missions with Karai and Shinigami in secret to aid them in taking revenge against the Shredder, but, in an attempt to find out what Leo was hiding from them, the other turtles get caught up in their plans and Donnie gets hurt. Leo immediately abandons Karai (who later apologizes for what happened) and Shinigami to check on them and come clean.

He explains to Splinter later on that he didn't fill anyone in on the situation at first because he knew no one would've agreed to help Karai get revenge, and he acknowledges that it was stupid of him to think he could control the situation. Splinter expresses his disappointment, and April reprimands him for once again not trusting his own team enough for them to help him.

Leo apologizes to Raph and Mikey afterwards, even going so far to say he probably doesn't deserve to lead the team after this, something Raph just harumphs at while Mikey remains silent. He pleads for their help in stopping and eventually aiding Karai and Shinigami, and they go along with him to fix things as a team.

We no longer get any one man missions from Leo in S5 (there surprisingly weren't any in S3 lol), likely for a whole list of reasons ranging from leading in Splinter's absence to learning from his mistakes over time. But he makes sure that whatever they have to do gets done together, and he does his best to keep his brothers in line.

I suppose one could say that '03 Leo remembered what it meant to be a leader, while '12 Leo discovered what it meant to lead.
