being into challengers and then severance has been a very interesting look at how "fandom" brain rots your ability to actually view nuanced romantic relationships.

Theres first this idea of a monogamous soulmate w severance fans ive seen. like mark s has been married before! he can't possibly have feelings for another woman as they will always live in the shadow of the ex wife! its the inability to process loving more than one person at once for the sake of the idea of an "OTP". Which is insane for a sci fi show about literally having another version of yourself w their memories wiped. Even the show doesn't pitch it like this huge contest between love interests. this is how helly reacted when she thought innie mark fucked ms casey.

also saw strange responses on this post that got me thinking about this topic:

-and a ton of the replies to this are like, disappointed that the real life wife of this man who died moved on? and married another man years later? what is this christian "we can only marry one true love and nobody else" idea.

Theres also an inability to even process bisexuality. Like, theres so many responses to challengers that imply art and patrick dont even love tashi, she just acts as the woman keeping them apart. After all theres no way they're actually attracted to her if theyre also attracted to each other (Which isn't even to touch on the misogynoir there.) This is the movie with this scene and you want to tell me they weren't also attracted to the woman in the scenario? get fucking REALL they love each other!!!! even tashi says that playing tennis with another woman was like making love! theyre all bisexual!

Anyway im just rambling into nothing right now. Fandom brain makes you unable to unpack a monogamous idea of a "soulmate" i guess is my thesis.

Me after watching the last descent

man when was the last time that i cried this hard… (that i litterly had to get off my bed to blow a ton of my snot off and wipe a bunch of tear)

heard about the original story before in a podcast then out of curiousity of searching, i found out about the movie. I think the movie is good and the final scene got me so bad man. One of the reasons that i start crying so bad right away is probably that i realized right away that he had passed.

So I had another horrible thought relating to Transformers One sequels

Here, Megatron and Optimus do at least semi reconcile and Megatron redeems himself

But it’s a redemption via self sacrifice

Megatron finally sees the error of his ways, or he already has but now he sees a way to in some way make things right, and right there and then makes a decision

Optimus is out of commission (though if you want to add the angst, he’s still conscious, just unable to do anything other than maybe talk), and so Megatron gets him to safety, has some sort of final words to Optimus, before heading back to do whatever it is that needs to be done

He does the thing, and the day is saved, but Megatron is now dead for it. Optimus probably chooses to honor him in some way, but he’s still dead

And made worse if Optimus and Megatron’s final interaction in some way parallels their exchange when Orion fell

Sorry I just had to relay this idea to others. It won’t leave me alone so you have to know too

I know we're definitely not going to get it but I hope Sephiroth is a screaming frothing mess when he loses it in Nibelheim. I want tears and snapping teeth, smashing and clawing at everything he comes across. I want him completely unhinged and destructive, so full of hate and bitterness that he just wants to tear everything apart. I want batshit crazy expressions that are pure nightmare fuel. I want a complete and total transformation that scares the shit out of the player, a horrifying metamorphosis.

I want to see a man become a monster.
