#the intent behind the usage is exactly the problem

from the perspective of a hillbilly (lol), i understand why translations do this, I mean it does effectively communicate to English speakers that a character/characters are uneducated or lower class or whatever. I donât think that it necessarily makes a value judgment so it doesnât bother me and I donât think it would bother other people where Iâm from. weâre pretty notorious for making fun of ourselves and not taking it too seriously when people associate our accent with lack of education.
I mean, but thatâs exactly what it does: if a person uses âhillbilliesâ specifically to mean âsavage cannibals,â thatâs a value judgment they want and expect their audience to understand. They are using it purposely to call upon that value judgment. Iâm not from Appalachia but Iâm from the South, and itâs the same exact issue I have with people using the Southern accent to show that the characters using it are âlow-classâ or âstupid.â Creators using certain identities as shorthand for saying that characters belong to a particular population of âundesirablesâ are doing so for the purpose of getting their audience to actively support the way the narrative marks them as unworthy of humane treatment, concern, or thought, and this is both borne from and feeds into how these populations are caricatured outside of the fiction that replicates it.
Having an in-group laugh at the stereotypes that the mainstream makes about your particular marginalization does not make the stereotypes that reinforce the marginalization harmless.
#tgcf asks#anon#no offense to you anon itâs not like you made the translation choice#but you seem more blasĂ© about the purpose of the use and I canât be#the intent behind the usage is exactly the problem#itâs messy and lazy and harmful writing

Aight now that I've slept a bit and am less tired and have had some time to think about it, here is my hopefully coherent enough attempt to get my thoughts across on the Degenerate video, because I'm The Starset Guy and this is like the first major controversy they've ever had and even I have concerns about it and thus feel the need to get my thoughts out there. Cut-off for those who don't wanna scroll past all this cause it ended up being kinda long:
So first off just to get it out of the way: the song itself is great, as is to be expected with Starset. Vocals great, lyrics great, etc. No surprises there. Now to the actually controversial part, the music video. If you even wanna call it a music video, the video title calls it a visualizer instead but whatever. Semantics. Not the point.
So yeah, to start, I'm not exactly a fan of AI "art" for well, all the reasons everyone else has already brought up about it. But as other people have pointed out, in the case of this video there ARE some nuances to its usage that are worth discussing before jumping the gun and canceling the band. So first I'm actually gonna defend it a bit by going over the artistic intention behind it, then also point out the reasonable concerns that people have with it in spite of that intention.
So, I know this band. I know the lore and the narrative and the central themes and all that. The band's story centers around how technology shouldn't be abused by greedy corporate shitheads lest it ruin our society. Literally just a few months ago they released a book where the main antagonist was an AI that gained sentience and tried to enslave humanity. I'm not parasocial enough to pretend that I Know Dustin, but I know what he's about. And he's smart enough that I have to believe he didn't just make a move like this for no reason with no self-awareness. So yeah, I 100% get what the intent is here. As Dustin has said and others have repeated, the AI usage is clearly meant to be "ironic" and satirical, which becomes pretty clear when you actually watch the full video. Essentially it's using AI imagery to make fun of AI images. Real "I used the stones to destroy the stones" moment I guess. Lyrically, the song itself isn't SPECIFICALLY about AI, but it definitely is a big criticism of modern consumerism and commercialism in general, essentially talking about how we feel the need to stuff our faces with corporate-produced shit while our society is slowly falling apart around us. And while AI certainly isn't the sole problem there, it has certainly become a notable aspect of that larger problem, so it makes sense to satirize it to get the larger point across. The visualizer is gross and uncanny to look at on purpose. And it's clearly not trying to trick you into thinking it's NOT AI or anything, not trying to pass as something an actual human made with their own hands. It doesn't want you to be impressed by the visuals, it wants you to be disturbed by them. I compared it to the video for Linkin Park's "Lost" from last year since that was also made with AI visuals and as much as I also love that band and that song I'm still not exactly a fan of that particular choice. But the reason I bring it up is because I do think there's an interesting contrast in how it's being used in these two videos, as with the video for Lost it really did feel like it was using AI just for the sake of using it, riding the current trend, whereas here with Degenerate there's at least an actual reason for it, a reason that one can at least understand even if they don't like or agree with it.
Apparently Dustin's also said that they did pay artists to make the images for the specific purpose of running them through the AI for the video, though didn't really elaborate beyond that. But just based on what we know it does sound like these were consenting artists who knew what they were getting into here and were compensated for it. So it's not like it's a case of just stealing art or trying to replace actual humans to save a few bucks or anything, which is good since that's obviously one of the main concerns with AI in general.
There's also the fact that, as much as I don't like AI shit, the harsh reality is it's not going anywhere anytime soon. Personally if I had a magic button that could indefinitely halt all development on AI stuff until I can be sure that everyone will use it ethically and not abuse it then I would definitely hit that button, but the fact of the matter is that, for better or worse, it's here, it exists, and it will continue to evolve and be used. We can't just un-invent what's already been invented. And I'd argue that specific, limited, one-off uses like this are probably just about the most ethical way to implement it. Though of course I personally would rather this STAY a one-off thing, I absolutely do not want this kind of thing to become like, a regular thing for them. Or a regular thing in general.
But of course this video doesn't exist in a vacuum, there are other nuances here. Because as still more people have pointed out, using AI to make fun of AI is still using it. It's not like the video is in a completely neutral position, just commentating on the situation from afar. Even if it's making fun of AI, the fact that it's using it to do so means it's still feeding that AI, it is now another step forward in the evolution and proliferation of the thing that it's criticizing. One could argue that they maybe could have found a way to poke fun at it without actually using it. There's definitely a certain irony to be discussed in Making Fun Of The Thing By Doing The Thing. Is it being clever and meta? Or is it lacking forethought? Or maybe it's a bit of both. I don't know. Either way it's not exactly the best look, regardless of the intention and thought process behind it. Insert Torment Nexus joke here.
And although I SAID earlier that the satirical intent is pretty clear, it might not be clear to everyone. Even if the video isn't MEANT to set a precedent, it could unintentionally set a precedent anyway by inspiring copycats. Because unfortunately some people are simply too stupid to get obvious satire, especially if they're the ones the satire is aimed at. So it's entirely possible certain people will just see the trippy weird AI visuals and either won't realize or won't care what the the purpose behind them is and will just want to do it themselves because they think it's cool. And then THAT raises the whole question of "how much should you blame the person who made the satire for people being too dumb to get it, especially in cases like this where the satire is incredibly unsubtle and on the nose?" But then that's getting into a whole 'nother topic entirely so I'm not gonna dive into that.
And then of course there's other concerns like how research has shown that AI has a negative effect on the environment. As far as I know THAT particular concern hasn't been addressed so I don't know if they even considered that, but if they didn't then yeah, that's pretty irresponsible and lacking forethought.
There's also just the matter of personal preference, like even if you get that it's satire you might just think that it's not very good satire which is a fair opinion to have. Like personally I just didn't even really enjoy watching the video despite knowing full-well what The Point of it was.
So, in summation, taking all these points into account, I don't think that this particular usage of AI tools is THAT bad. I might even go as far as to say that it's like, fine I guess, at least in isolation. I think many assumed the worst before it came out but I don't think it's worth suddenly denouncing the band or going all "well actually they sucked the whole time and I totally never liked them anyway" or anything like that. Though I'm sure some people will start doing that. I'd say this is a somewhat questionable but not-too-egregious move, that there are legitimate concerns to be had and that I do share those concerns, and as I said I don't want this kind of thing to become the norm for them or for any other band, but I also don't think we should immediately conclude that the band has been Ruined Forever or anything. This kind of thing is a slippery slope, so I guess all we can really do is hope that Dustin doesn't end up falling down it. But that's my take on the whole thing. Maybe I'm being fair and nuanced and unbiased. Or maybe I'm just a hypocrite who's bending over backwards to give my fav the benefit of a doubt. I don't know. All I know is I just wanted to get all this off my chest at once so I can hopefully stop thinking about it and just enjoy the song on its own.

i am once again thinking about ninejuice (for the first time in a whole month wow)
thats all! have a nice rest of your day
ME TOO OML!!
Oh boy Iâm gonna take this opportunity to rant about them.
Nine Juice rant below, read at your own risk.
Iâm thinking about them so oftenâŠ. ITS LIKE!!! I can totally understand people seeing them as only platonic!! And Iâve always actually felt kinda nervous to ship them for some reason⊠the 17776 enjoyers havenât been much to do shipping, especially since romance is not really the point of the story, at all. but I just really believe they have a bond that just, is a lot.
There is a level of understanding and compassion that Juice shows to Nine in his own ways, he knows exactly how to help Nine cope after the intermission, he knows what theyâre thinking when their communications fuck up. (Nine was indeed cussing him out, they said âfuck you.â) He is teasing as always, but not hesitant to reassure them afterwards.
Nine is very observant. They make note of Juices usage of grammar, how he capitalizes thing that are important to him. I canât remember exactly which chapter thatâs in, but Iâm like 100% sure Nine pointed this out. Obviously, Nines name is almost always capitalized . This is a notable exception
Has he EVER used this many exclamation points?!
I also love the way the infodump to each other. Ten by this point has heard Juices rants a billion times before, she loves him, but is sick of them! Of course he sees no problem in that. But then suddenly thereâs a new listener who is intensely eager and interested in what he has to say! It feels special, because Nine never seems to get bored of it. They love to hear him talk, about anything really, but especially what heâs passionate about. -
Which is mostly football. Football is how he processes the world. With sports and all the things that come with it he was able to come to terms with reality. He looks at it through such a unique lense in order to make sense of it all. Even his own football game is not just insane rules strung together all willy nilly, itâs truly a work of art with a deeper meaning. Itâs like heâs painting with the fields, you know?
Nine understands this, and if they donât, they WANT to. In my mind, Juices voice and rambles about lunchables or whatever start off confusing to them, but once they understand where it comes from and why and what Juice is trying to attempt with all this, they understand a lot.
Nine copes with history, they look into the past for comfort and familiarity. they feel so intensely behind, at first it started as a way to catch up and feel up to date with their friends, but then they discovered that the history of this world was just sort of a safe space for them. Juice loves to hear Nine talk about stuff even he never knew about. Nine is quite the researcher, and is always able to pull up SOMETHING. He is too, but not to this level. They share facts and information back and forth, intently listening to each other and trying to understand. Always.
Juice knows what Nines going through, itâs quite obvious with what he says here.
They ground each other in this reality, they give each other a person to talk about football with. Someone to try and not think about things too hard with. And then when things DO get hard? And the thoughts are too much? Theyâll always be there for each other to help.
An underrated aspect about Juices character is how intelligent he is. SURE, he spends a lot of time joking around, thatâs just his thing!!! But he is by no means stupid, heâs a little silly, but so so much more than that. He also cares, a lot! He is lonely, he loves his friends so dearly although he doesnât express it nearly as much as Nine.
Nine is also a lot more than their troubles. A lot of their arc has to do with coming to terms with the state of existence, but theyâre also incredibly compassionate and loving. SO SO loving. Theyâre blindly trusting, showing no hesitation with their love for everyone. Theyâre observant, and also a bit of a jokerster! They got that from Juice.
I donât know where Iâm going with this, I just really like the two of them, I love their dynamic. I feel like if they could, they would hug for a real long time. Unfortunately theyâre way too far apart and made of nuts and bolts. But they still love each other, nothing changes that, not in a billion years

//Hoo boy, here goes, hot take time
//The Last of Us doesn't deserve the acclaim it gets.
//Past its cinematic experience, it's a pretty vanilla entry in the zombie genre as a whole, and only really stands out thanks to its usage of Cordyceps zombies and its ending. Look past that, it's yet another story about finding and delivering the cure.
//Protag-man Joel also isn't a very likable or compelling character to me. All we ever really learn about him, we learn in the opening section. It's well done, don't get me wrong, but after the 20 year time skip, Joel is just an angry old man who never got past being a grieving father...and that's really it.
//I get that maybe that's the point, that we're supposed to read into Joel's character, but he never really talks about himself. He's defined almost entirely by his relationships, be it with Ellie, Sarah, Tommy, Tess, etc. Joel doesn't really have much of a character outside of how he relates to other people.
//If anything, he feels more like a blank slate for the audience to project onto and that really bothers me with the climax.
//TLoU is another game that tries to have a morally gray conflict and fails miserably. It's another game that tries to hammer it into your head that humans are the real monsters, how everyone is an asshole or a corpse, except for Ellie and Tommy, and by the end, the Fireflies, the people you'd been doing this mission for...just decide they're gonna kill Ellie to get the cure
//It's not built up, it's not foreshadowed, it's not hinted at, it just goes like this:
"We need to extract the fungal growths to make a cure." "But the fungus grows all over the brain" "I know. But she won't feel anything"
//There were so many other ways this could've been solved, so many better ways this could've been addressed, but no, we needed to shove in an action-heavy climax. One where Joel guns down a bunch of people who probably had nothing to do with this decision. Including shooting a man in the balls, repeatedly, and shooting a woman while she's down.
//I have to agree with Yahtzee's review, where it really feels like Joel's and Ellie's storyline is all that matters, while everyone who's not them can get fucked. Protagonist-centered morality as its finest.
//And yet Joel is still a selfish bastard, lying to Ellie's face about what happened just so he can have his new daughter, and even she doesn't buy it. I don't sympathize with Joel enough to say that what he did was okay, because the game doesn't give us enough information to work with
//The Last of Us thrives off of subjective emotional validation, where instead of giving us any kind of real tangible info to work off of, we're just given emotional beats that are meant to form the basis of our arguments and actions. Which is a problem for people like me, who can't get behind Joel or his actions, because he comes off as a self-centered asshole by the end of the game.
//I understand that it was intentional, and that it does go against a lot of the conventions of the genre, but I don't think they handled it well. All I know about Joel for certain is that he never got over his grief, and giving into that grief is how he could've potentially doomed the human race.
//Especially since, again, the climax feels rushed and poorly written just for the sake of having an action sequence. The Fireflies are underdeveloped as any kind of antagonist and just suddenly turn to evil by the end so you won't feel bad about killing them.
//At least until the second game, where you're supposed to feel bad for doing exactly that. But that game is one more people can agree on.
//Overall, I just don't like TLoU all that much. If you like it, you're more than welcome to do so. I just feel it didn't earn the overwhelming praise it received and still receives now.
//Here's hoping the show fixes these problems I have with it

Yan Childe, Diluc, Kaeya, Zhongli, Beidou & Ningguang / Courting Darling.
Warnings: Stalking, implied blackmail, kidnapping, and gaslighting. Note: this is a bit of an amalgamation from different asks iâve gotten, put into one thing bc i thirst for these six characters so hard .
Childe:
âWhatâs life without a little adventure? You can stand to miss work for a day or two, itâll still be there waiting for you when we get back. People have even gone so far as to say Iâm an absolute joy to be around. You want to know who said that? Sorry, that source is staying a secret.âÂ
Childe is an erratic whirlwind of highs and lows. You never know what to expect from him, and he likes it that way, always keeping you on your toes. He doesnât bother with having his friendliness appear genuine. If you want to doubt his goodwill, then so be it, he wonât stop you. It just makes it all the more interesting to keep you around should you be wary of his presence.Â
He doesnât care for the traditional conventions surrounding romance. It isnât his thing, and heâs used to being considered the odd one out of every crowd, so why stop now? Childe doesnât tone down any aspects of his bloodthirsty personality in your presence. Itâs difficult to tell how serious heâs being since most of it takes the form of jokes or other lighthearted jests. In his mind, the fact heâs even spending so much time with you should make it obvious heâs interested. Whether thatâs good or not.Â
Youâre going to be dragged all over the place. Childeâs stamina is seemingly an infinite well, as he takes you from activity to activity. By the end of the day, youâll be exhausted. Unfortunately, he doesnât take no for an answer, weaseling his way into your schedule despite your protests. Childe is particularly fond of getting into situations where a fight is inevitable, purposefully taking you to areas with monsters to show off his combat prowess.Â
âDid you get a look at that, [First]? Aha, I havenât had this much fun in ages! You already want to head back? Hm, I donât know, the night is still young. Stop dragging your feet or I might just have to carry you. Not that Iâm complaining, should that be the outcome. Itâs up to you. Oh! Now thatâs the spirit! Iâll try not to be hurt by how fast youâre moving now.âÂ
Diluc:Â
âAh, [First], I take it youâre doing well. I couldnât help but notice you eyeing this book at the market earlier. Iâve had a copy of it for ages, but with how busy things are, rarely do I have time to read. Iâd be appreciative should you accept this and give it a better home.âÂ
Diluc is self-assured in many areas of his life, romance is not one of them. He knows how to carry himself in the company of businessmen, staying polite and vigilant, but this rigid method doesnât work in his favor when it comes to wooing you. To soften the blow on his side, Diluc tells himself that it was never about a relationship anyway. That his main priority was and will always be to ensure your safety. He tells himself this, but... isnât sure if he really believes it.Â
Heâs a perfect example of pining from afar. Subconsciously, heâll drift towards areas you tend to linger around, hoping to spot you amidst the bustling crowds. Each time he tells himself that thisâll finally be the time he approaches you. The opportunity is set before him, waiting to be taken advantage of, but he rarely follows through with his desire.Â
It frustrates Diluc to no end how easily others flock to you. Heâll stand there, still as a statue, eyes boring into whatever pest currently holds your attention. This would be the push to finally send him your way. Itâs a surprise to you both when Mondstadtâs wine tycoon materializes by your side, politely asking to speak in private. Truth be told, he just canât stand the thought of another person holding your attention that isnât him.Â
âI apologize for my abruptness back there. Thereâs something Iâve been meaning to ask you about for some time, and well... would you consider having dinner with me tonight? Iâd appreciate your company.âÂ
Kaeya:
âItâs a funny thing, really. How we keep bumping into one another like this. Ah... that suspicious expression, it wounds me deep, sweetheart. When did you start looking at me like that, I wonder?âÂ
Thereâs no doubting Kaeyaâs interest in you, from the first time he sauntered over to you and started a conversation. The problem you have is deciding how genuine his advances are. While Kaeya might not be the textbook definition of a heart-wrenching playboy, youâre familiar enough with the many rumors surrounding him to be wary. It doesnât help that heâll point this out to you when guessing the source of your apprehension.Â
His methods are, oddly enough, effective. Kaeya balances the various aspects of seduction with ease. He reveals just enough about himself to draw out your attention, before focusing the conversation back onto you. Youâll never get to stop and realize how little you know about the man sitting in front of you, he makes certain of that.
Kaeya might hide certain aspects of himself, but his dubious morality is never concealed. He has you entirely wrapped around his finger, words validating his actions falling from his lips with the utmost ease; heâs a force to be reckoned with. Youâll start a conversation heated about something youâve learned, only for it to end wondering why you were ever upset in the first place.
âNow, now, thereâs no need to get all riled up over something like this. Donât you trust me by now? When have I ever given you reason to doubt me? You need to take a look at the bigger picture. Hey, take a seat. Iâll sit here all night explaining to you if itâs necessary.âÂ
â[More underneath the cut].
Zhongli:Â
âThere must be something that I can assist you with. It may not look it, but Iâm familiar with many fields of work, even obscure ones. Please allow me to lend a hand.âÂ
Zhongli, despite having been around for many centuries, is somewhat clueless in romantic pursuits. Heâs aware of his fondness for you, but doesnât know what to do with it. This leads him to becoming your shadow for some time. He focuses on what he knows best: observation and processing new information. Your every little movement will be analyzed and tuck into the back of his mind for later usage.Â
Zhongliâs soft over the idea of you coming to rely on him for everything. He prides himself on his wealth of knowledge and work ethic, believing it a strong appeal, one that he puts on full display when youâre around. Itâs not rare for you to overhear neighbors and friends speak highly about Zhongli. Theyâll mention in passing how they were having difficulty with something, only for Zhongli to come around and help without asking for anything in return.Â
This is exactly what heâs been hoping and waiting for. Zhongli has patience and sets himself up to be a desirable partner in your eyes, the efforts from his labor coming into fruition. Before you even speak to him for the first time, youâre likely to think highly of him, having heard all the ways heâs helped people close to you. Now that the stage is properly set, heâs ready to make his interest in you more evident.Â
âIâve heard a lot about you, [First]. Oh? You can say the same for me? Well, I hope I can live up to your expectations. I had just been on my way to Yanshang Teahouse, would you care to join me? My treat, of course.âÂ
Beidou:Â
âYou havenât lived until youâve experienced a voyage with my crew and I. Iâll set up a nice cabin just for you, how does that sound? Hm? Special treatment? Donât worry your pretty little head about that, lass.â Â
Beidouâs attention is overwhelming and oftentimes dangerous. Traditional social conventions are nothing but a waste of time for her, meaning that common courtesy is disregarded in favor of always speaking her mind. Which might not be so bad if she wasnât so amorous. Even the most oblivious person couldnât miss Beidouâs overt favor towards you.
This reverent display of affection is only exacerbated when sheâs drunk, face flushed and an arm swung tightly around your shoulder. She doesnât care who sees, whoâs judging, or what gossip will be born from her actions. Beidou makes a point of showing everyone in the vicinity that even if you arenât officially partners yet, a claim has been staked on you.Â
Whether it be coercion or some other unsightly method, Beidou is intent on bringing you on her ship at least once. Or thatâs how she initially phrased it to you. Imagine your surprise, that when you finally caved so sheâd drop the subject, her crew was untying the ropes keeping the boat at port.Â
âThe funâs just getting started, you havenât seen anything yet. Donât get all teary-eyed yet, sweetheart, I know youâll come around. Thisâll be a story sung by sailors for generations to come.â
Ningguang:
âIf Iâm being honest, not many are given the opportunity to speak to me outside of business-related ventures. I never thought Iâd find it this... pleasant. I hope youâll continue to entertain me as you do now.âÂ
Ningguang starts off her wooing in a subtle, almost coquettish manner. She is confident in her charm and brilliance. Not many have been gifted in the art of conversation to the same extent Ningguang has, her silver tongue paired with quick intellect making it difficult for you to escape. Sheâll corner you verbally without you even noticing it.Â
Ningguang finds amusement in how you stumble over your words, pure of heart and not chained down by special interests. Your forthright but considerate demeanor intoxicates her. Sheâs used to people cowering in her presence or trying too hard to pursue their goals. You might even earn a rare compliment or two, disguised as politeness, that doesnât register for hours.Â
She is a lady of fine taste. The skyâs the limit when it comes to her wealth, which is unrivaled throughout Tevyat, and youâll be quick to notice this. Ningguang is most partial to sending you traditional Liyue adornments, believing the rich culture behind each piece suits your beauty. Sheâs also fond of the fact that when you wear her gifts, everyone in the vicinity will know itâs from her, due to its extraordinarily high cost.Â
âDo you like my latest gift, little dove? It was made custom with you in mind, an unrivaled display of craftmanship, if I may add. Wear this and carry me with you... always.âÂ

A thing I have noticed is that Viv cannot understand how to write likable characters. She makes them the âim14andthisisdeepâ characters, such as Blitzo, Stolas, and Angel Dust. Viv does not realize how most people whom are terrible, whom use others for their own gaining, whom turn a blind eye towards their own malicious intent, are not made;they are merely born.
Moxxie is expected to forgive Blitzo after everything he has done and to that I say; fuck no.
Viv does not understand that bad people cannot change over the claiming of âi wuv you!!!!â by a shitty bird. Blitzo does NOT need a redemption, he does not need a single thing but punishments for his actions.
The show clearly wants a âForgive, never forgetâ plotline and I will always show disgust for that usage of tone.
Nobody NEEDS to help Blitzo.
They should want to, not be forced.
Moxxie is forced into a room, tied to a chair behind Blitzo as they talk about their deep rooted issues(Moxxieâs is better in my opinion but whatever).
Rather than the two CHOOSING to talk about privacy and boundaries, they are FORCED Into a room with agents and then have to do an entire fight between others.
Why could they not have just..talked thingâs out? If Blitzo is too blinded by hatred and stupidity to realize they should talk, then there is no point in trying to talk with him, merely leave the company. Yet for some reason;Moxxie does not.
The show likes to pretend Moxxie owes anything to Blitzo, as if he NEEDS to help him, but that is disgusting to teach, You do not owe those whom have hurt you assistance. You do not owe them an explanation. If they did not treat you with basic respect earlier, then there is no reason to give them the time of day.
You do not owe your abusers anything.
Exactly, youâre spitting facts. This is why (and I have said this so many times now so forgive me) wish the show was more like Bojack Horseman. The writers of Bojack knew how to write real characters perfectly, characters who were cruel, manipulative, kind, the list goes on and on, characters that FEEL like real people youâve met. The characters in Helluva donât feel real at all, they clearly feel like written characters in fictions by the hands of an edgy girl stuck in the early 2000âs. For example, any logical person like Moxxie would have quit his job ages ago due to Blitzâs harassment, yet he doesnât because of plotâOh I man he âcaresâ about his boss. His shitty boss. And thatâs the problem. Viv and Brandon donât SEE Blitz as an manipulative abuser, they see him as an UwU sad sweet boy who loves his employees in his âown weird wayâ. In my eyes, theyâre never going to fully commit to admitting how horrible Blitz is. Heâs an awful person, yet they donât necessarily see that. Even when they DO admit it, they at the same time want to make us feel bad for him, and yes, thatâs what Bojack did, but Bojack at least had a proper flow and told you through storytelling that no matter how much you want to feel bad for this guy, heâs STILL a horrible person whoâs responsible for all his actions, someone who slipped down the drain and someone you DONâT want to end up like. With Helluva, and yes even a little bit of Hazbin, (meaning Angel) it doesnât matter if the characters are downright horrible people you wouldnât want to be around in real life at all, theyâre all Vivâs babies and sheâll continue to shower them in a moral light.

It had been a while since you felt that sense of belonging, that familial security. After what had happened to your family the Zarickâs had been kind enough to open themselves and their home up to you. They made you feel like family and not some charity case. They were all so loving and inviting, you couldnât believe just how lucky youâd gotten.
That was until tragedy struck once again. Joey had died in a freak accident on the way home from school.
You werenât the same after what happened to Joey and no one should have expected you to be, especially since you had witnessed the accident first hand. You were traumatized and scarred. All you saw when you closed your eyes was the same horrific scene repeating and it wouldnât stop.
When you thought things couldnât get worse Wiliam died shortly after finding out about Joey. You could still remember his reaction, how he ran out of the house with some kind of intention in mind, leaving you and Denise in pieces. You never would be able to know what he had planned when he abruptly left that night.
If only you knew it would be the last time you saw him, maybe you could have tried harder to stop him.
After that Blue Valley didnât seem like home anymore. Denise just wanted to get away from anything and everything that reminded her of what she and you both lost. You were more than willing to leave when she brought up moving. You wanted to get away just as much as her. Everywhere you looked you were haunted by the memories of two loving people who were taken away far too early. It was just you and Denise now and you both wanted nothing more than to leave your ghosts behind.
Everything was set and ready to go. Denise even seemed more rushed than before to leave Blue Valley behind. The two of you were in the car and everything seemed normal. The radio was playing but it was only to fill the silence. Neither of you knew what to say, a part of you felt guilty for leaving yours and the Zarickâs home. It felt like you were abandoning Joey and William but that warmth from before just wasnât there anymore.
Everything seemed so cold and dark, like all the light had been sucked out. This place was only a reminder of sadness and hurt. Even the good times couldnât outweigh the burden in your hearts.
It was quiet for a while longer before Denise spoke up, âThis is for the best, (Y/n). There was nothing left in Blue Valley. Not anymore. Itâs just us now.â She was trying to keep her voice from breaking and you were trying to keep your tears at bay, but you knew she was right.
You were all she had now and she was all you had.
And that was the last thing on your mind before a crashing noise hit your ears. Both you and Denise were sent rolling.
When you open your eyes again, you were waking up in the hospital back in Blue Valley. You were obviously hurt, body aching from the ordeal it had been through. Itâs only when you try to sit up that you realize you arenât alone.
A firm, yet gentle, hand pushes you to lay back down. Looking up, youâre greeted by a man youâve never met before. Youâre too caught up in your staring and confusion to realize heâs speaking, âYou shouldnât try and strain yourself. Not after the ordeal youâve been put through.â
Once youâre laying back comfortably again, the man fixes his suit and heads back to a chair off in the corner, you assume he had been occupying it before you awoke.
Itâs unsettling to say the least and all the more ominous, the way he stares at you that is. His gaze is intense and it scares you. Itâs like heâs trying to see everything that you are and everything youâve ever been. The coldness of the room doesnât help ease your anxiety. If anything it adds to it, making you feel all the more vulnerable.
âIâm sorry, I havenât properly introduced myself. I am Jordan Mahkent, I am- well, I was a friend of Williamâs.â Oh, so he was familiar with your past adoptive father? That made you feel a little more at ease.
âOh, um...okay. By chance do you know where Denise is? I would really like to see her.â For some reason it feels like the roomâs gotten colder. It doesnât help that you canât quite read the expression on Jordanâs face. That is until it turns into one of sympathy.
âIâm sorry, Y/n, but Denise didnât make it.â You could feel all the air leave your sore lungs. What the hell was he talking about? Denise didnât make it? But she had been right next to you the last you remember.
Throat dry you try to speak again, âWhat so you mean? She was there, I was with her and she was fine!â Youâre choked up, tears streaming down your face. You donât even notice that Jordan is now sitting next to you, wiping your tears away with a hand considerably colder than normal. Heâs trying to be comforting but all you can focus on are his words echoing in your head.
âIâve got you, Y/n. Iâm here for you now.â
////
There wasnât a single day that passed without Jordan visiting you. You had to stay awhile longer in the hospital to recover, especially given you had woken up from a coma due to the crash. You didnât mind though, you didnât feel right being back in Blue Valley and you were still processing how you lost everything in a matter of a few days.
But Jordan was nice. He was patient but most importantly he was there for you. He seemed kind enough. He would even tell you stories about when he and William were close. It was comforting hearing about William, especially in his youth but it still hurt to hear his name knowing full well he wouldnât be coming back.
The day of you getting discharged, Jordan had offered that you stay with him and his family. Thai scenario felt oddly familiar. Similar to how youâd been brought into the Zarick family. You couldnât deny that it was a kind gesture and itâs not like you had anywhere else to go.
His family was just as welcoming as the Zarickâs had been. You kept trying to remind yourself that these people werenât your past family but the memories and comparisons just wouldnât leave you alone. You couldnât quite put your finger on whether it was healthy for you to think this way or not.
It hurt, that much was for certain. It didnât help that you felt like you were not only replacing your old family but that you were also using these nice, generous people to fill a void in you from everything that youâd lost. It didnât feel right at all to you and the Mahkentâs definitely didnât deserve it either. They were just trying to do a good thing after all.
You tried giving what you could to this new family but it was hard. You were obviously depressed and still dealing with what happened to the Zarickâs. You just wanted your family back. You just wanted your Joey, your William and your Denise again. You just wanted to be home with them, where you were happy and content. The only thing that seemed to make you feel better were the pain killers the doctor had prescribed and they didnât make you feel anything. Youâd guess that the numbness was better than the hurt in the long run. Not to mention it helped keep away the horrible images in your head of Joeyâs death, even if only for awhile.
And sometimes, if you were lucky, you could see William, Denise, and Joey. It was as if they were right there with you, like the four of you were together again. It was nice to say the least. It gave what you needed, even if it was just a little taste of it.
Fortunately for you, your injuries and trauma were severe enough that you were given a prescription of painkillers to refill as long as you needed them. You could feel numb and be with your family again whenever you needed to, as long as you had that prescription.
As hard as you tried to keep this away from anyone else, especially the Mahkents, you werenât very successful. Jordan knew something wasnât quite right. He was understanding that you would need time to adapt and get comfortable with them but he thought you would surely grow to love and be part of his family by now. Donât get him wrong, Jordan was seeing you trying to be involved but it wasnât enough. You were still holding back.
It wasnât until Cameron came to him, worried about you that he started to see a different change in you. You seemed spacey and not really in the moment but that was understandable given your medication. It was some pretty strong stuff after all. But Jordan took note to ask about it at your next checkup. Thankfully you had to have mandatory checkups and your most recent one was coming up.
But Jordan was going to have a talk with Henry, not only for some information on this specific medication but also to have Henry tell him just what was going on in that head of yours.
Your check up went well. You still need your medication but the dosage as been dropped. Once your assigned doctor heard that you were acting just a little too out of it they thought it was about time to decrease your medicine, even though the before amount shouldnât have affected you like that. After that was said and done, Jordan left you at the vending machine and headed off to Henry.
It didnât take him long to find Henry nor did it take Henry long to read your thoughts. But once Jordan heard what was going through your head, he couldnât quite pinpoint how or what he was feeling exactly. One thing was for certain though, he was going to be monitoring your medicine intake from now on.
You knew you had a problem. You were conscious of that and you had tried to stop but you couldnât bring yourself to. You wanted the hurt to stop, you just wanted to stop feeling altogether. And thatâs just what you got when you took a few extra pills then prescribed. You guess you should have been more mindful. Thatâs why when Jordan started handing out your medication a part of you was relieved. Maybe things could get better. Maybe you could get better. But then that all too familiar itch was back and you were in need.
But Jordan was determined to not to let you destroy yourself. He didnât care what you lost at this point. You had something new and alive right in front of you. You had a family right in front of you. But you werenât seeing them. You werenât seeing him. You werenât seeing anything anymore.
Itâs all getting to be too much. Everything is getting to be too much.
Youâre starting to feel too much. Youâre starting to feel everything.
Everything is so overwhelming and erratic.
Your emotions are so overwhelming and erratic. What do you do? What is there to do?
Before you know it, your standing at the very bridge where Joeyâs accident happened. Youâre only standing, staring off, not a single thought passing through. Then youâre somehow over the railing, standing on the edge of one of the steel beams holding the bride up. Itâs only now that a thought comes to mind, one single word: Jump.
But you donât really want to, do you?
You would get to be with your family again.
But then you would be leaving behind another family.
You would finally not have to feel anything anymore.
But you would be hurting others in the process.
You could be happy again.
But would you really?
Jump.
Jump.
JUMP!!!
Youâre crying now. You can feel the tears, you can taste them from the corner of your mouth. You can hear something. You can hear someone calling out to you. Turning your head, you see Jordan running over towards you. Heâs panicked but his voice is calm.
âY/n? What are you doing over there??? Come here. Come on, I got you.â Heâs holding his arms out for you. Heâs here for you. Thatâs when it hits you, the realization of what you were just about to do. And youâre scared, reaching out to him. Jordan gets close enough to grab hold of you, pulling you over the railing like nothing.
Heâs clutching you close, so close it hurts. But itâs a good hurt. It means youâre there with him, that he has you safe in his arms. It doesnât even matter how cold he is anymore.
Youâre sobbing now, clutching at him just as feverishly. âIâm sorry!! Iâm so sorry!! I didnât mean it! I donât want to die!!!â
He tries to console you, still holding you so tightly. His voice is calm, soothing as he says, âYouâre okay, youâre safe now. Everythingâs going to be okay, Y/n. I promise.â
No, you donât want to die. Of course you want to see William, Denise and Joey again. You want nothing more than to finally be reunited with them once more but you just canât.
Not yet. Not now.
And they can wait. Theâll wait for as long as they have to. Theyâll always be waiting for you.

TAG LIST :; @jonghoshoeâ if youâd like to be added to the list please say so in our inbox/ask box!
hongjoong had gathered everyone around, gaze settled upon his members. âthis mission is very important. weâve managed to get a good deal. he says if he manages to make a good first impression with us, heâll be willing to work with us at a smaller price.â
everyone nodded along, understanding what he was trying to say: donât mess this up.Â
the leader continued as everyone seemed to catch the drift, âbut weâre going to be very careful with this. we donât put ourselves out there, so i donât know how he knows our reputation enough to want to further business before weâve even started.â
seonghwa perked up, arms tightening around himself, âthat means old business is talking.â hongjoong nodded, letting him know they were both on the same page.
after a moment of silence, hongjoong sucked his teeth and looked up at y/n, eyes holding an emotion the older couldnât read. the two held eye contact for barely 3 seconds before hongjoong spoke in yeosangâs direction. âi want you to stay here with y/n,â at those words, the younger gave a look that explained his feelings very well, y/n thought. Â
yeosang thought this was bullshit, but he couldnât speak out on it because he trusted hongjoong knew well enough. âdonât take it personal, i donât trust y/n fully. we donât know what can happen.â
yeosang could only nod, deciding against disobeying hongjoongâs orders.Â
âalright, everyone get ready. we leave in an hour, i wanna get there early. scope out the place.â
y/n felt ashamed and angry.Â
ever since the group left for the mission, almost an hour ago, yeosang has been rude and treating him like he was the cause of all his problems. he felt ashamed because yeosangâs bruteness made him feel, somewhat, small and embarrassed, like it was his fault they were in this situation.
âget out of my way,â yeosang had shoved y/n on the way to the kitchen. the older stared dumbfounded, patience wearing thin.
âa simple excuse me wouldâve been nice.â
yeosang scoffed, opening the refrigerator. if there was one thing that bothered him, it was being on babysitting duty.Â
âyeah, well iâm not exactly in the mood to play around and be all goody-two-shoes. so you know what would be nice?â he directed a sharp glare to y/n, not giving him a chance to answer his rhetorical question, âif you would fuck off.â
y/n bit his tongue, sizing up the smaller. his thoughts blocked his irritation, taking in the fact that yeosang was a gang member. heâs pretty sure size wouldnât inconvenience the younger when handling a physical situation, much less a verbal one.
the doctor went to walk away as yeosang placed a plate in the microwave, until he noticed red markings on the skin of yeosangâs wrist, his shirt sleeve sliding down as his arm lifted. âare you okay?â
âlast i checked, i didnât ask for some psychological evaluation. so for the love of god-â
âno- i meant your wrist⊠is your wrist okay?â
a barely noticeable blush covered yeosangâs ears, âiâm fine. itâs nothing.âÂ
y/nâs head tilted, an unsure look on his face.âdo⊠do you mind if i take a look at it?âÂ
yeosang stilled, the low hum of the microwave filling in the silence. he hesitated, but decided against it, knowing yunho had told him he needed to get it looked at because there wasnât much he could do.
his eyes drifted to y/n, his arm slowly gravitating in the direction of y/n, a silent approval. the doctor carefully walked forward, gently grabbing yeosangâs hand and pulling the sleeve slightly. a small gasp left his mouth, the sleeve barely pulled back but the wound already looked pretty bad. âdo you have a first aid kit?â
the metal lid of the small trash can clinked as it swung back and forth, ointment-clotted swabs and bandage wrappers crinkling within the confinement. âthank you,â yeosangâs voice was small, his upset mood dissipating as time went on.Â
âitâs no problem,â y/n finished wrapping yeosangâs wrist, careful not to make it too tight, âthat was a second degree burn though⊠howâd you get it?â
yeosang looked down, a blush settling on his cheeks. his head dropped and his feet swung under the medical cot he sat on. he mumbled something, biting his lip afterwards, and y/nâs eyebrows furrowed. âiâm sorry, what was that?â and yeosang mumbled once more, y/n still not hearing what he said. âhuh?â
âi said i burned myself trying to help seognhwa hyung make your meals!â
y/n blinked, âoh.â
and for the next few moments, it was deadly silent, the ticking of the wall clock echoing. y/n couldnât take the awkwardness any longer, clearing his throat, âwell, next time you get hurt, please donât be afraid to come to me. itâd give me something to do, i already feel pretty useless and lonely here, to be honest.â
yeosang looked up, his feet no longer swinging, and a confused look on his face. âyouâre not useless. we wouldnât have kept you alive if you were.â
at that moment y/n inhaled, not knowing how to respond to that. âuh, jeez, that uh⊠hm, that makes me feel better⊠i guess?â a moment passed before the two chuckled, a comedic break turning out to be a lot more comforting than they expected.Â
minutes passed, their conversation dying down into light replies and subtle smiles when yeosang asked a question that threw the doctor off. âdo you know anyone by the name of heeseung?â
dozens of thoughts raced through y/nâs mind; why does he want to know? is heeseung okay? did he do something he wasnât supposed to?Â
â. . . yes.â but y/n couldnât ask any further because before he knew it, yeosang had nodded and gotten down from the cot, walking out of the infirmary area.
meanwhile, miles away the others had arrived at the meeting spot, every member cautiously looking out for anything strange. seonghwa began pulling in closer to the black van adjacent to theirs, letting hongjoong and wooyoung scout to make sure this was the man they were meeting with.
after confirmation that this was dongwoo, they holstered their weapons within the waistbands of their trousers and exited the van.Â
âhave you got it?â hongjoong cut to the chase; he was quite a brute person when it came to work. and dongwoo and his people wanted to make a good first impression? heâd see how well he could handle him.
âyep, got a truckload of ak-47âs, m16âs, and a couple 9mmâs. all smuggled from america.â
hongjoong pursed his lips, an impressed nod making dongwooâs ego subtly inflate. word on the street said no one had successfully managed to smuggle weapons, specifically guns, to ateez without the korean law getting too heavily involved. the trader always got caught, and ateez always made sure to utilize their connections and silence those who they couldnât trust to keep their mouths shut.Â
hongjoong had to go to some expensive lengths just to get the glock 17âs they used now. the quality of the gun proved its worth though, they learned. however, it was rare that they resorted to gunsâthey didnât rely on them unless they themselves were in danger or if someone needed to be silenced quickly.
âlooks good to me,â hongjoong complimented, turning his head slightly toward wooyoung, âbring out their payment.âÂ
wooyoung nodded briefly, bringing his hands from behind his back, a large herbal drink-branded bag being showcased. dongwoo raised a brow, peeking over and catching a glimpse of the rolls of cash that filled the bag to the brim.
âthank you for your service,â hongjoong beckoned wooyoung to hand the bag to dongwoo, before he went to step toward his shipment.
âwait, what?â
at dongwooâs abruptness, san stepped forward, âwhat do you mean âwhatâ? take the deal or leavââ his words died down and he cowered back when hongjoongâs sharp glare met his eyes, immediately silencing him.Â
the leader clasped his hands behind his back and made a sharp turn toward the man. âis there something wrong?â his head was tilted and a curious look was on his face, there shouldnât have been anything wrong with this offer and if there was, there was only a problem on dongwooâs side. call it being ignorant, but hongjoong didnât say he never had a problem because he wanted to be cocky and egotistic. it was simply the truth.Â
out of every issue he and the others had encountered with a deal, none had gone wrong on their part. it was part of the reason their group was at the topâthey were efficient business partners and leaders. something only went wrong when non-mutual expectations werenât met.
âthereâs no âweâre looking forward to doing future business with youâ?â
a small smirk had taken over hongjoongâs lips, hidden by the hanging of his head. âmr. yoo, we further business with those of the same intentions as us. do you, perhaps, know what those intentions are?â
dongwoo stood dumbfounded; of everything he heard about ateez and their leader, he didnât think to find out just what their goal was.
âit seems you donât know, so iâll tell you. we, ateez, have come this far from one thing and one thing onlyâloyalty. when i heard your proposition of your first impression leading to cheaper traders, something was a little off,â his eyes squinted and he bought his pointer finger and thumb to barely touch, âyou know a little too much, donât you think?â
dongwooâs eyes widened slightly but he recovered, however, it was noticeable. âwhat are you talking about?âÂ
âsomeoneâs been talking, havenât they? leaking information about us that they, most certainly, werenât warranted to give, but you probably donât know muchâyouâre not the loose tie that needs to be cut off,â he looked dongwoo dead in the eyes as his own narrowed, âi hope.â
his intimidating stare lasted for a few moments more before a light smile covered his face, eye lightening. âtake your payment, weâll be taking our things and leaving.â
hongjoong gave a nod of his head, him and the rest of ateez splitting up to hook the small weapon-filled-trailer to their own vehicle, dongwoo and his men pulling off once it was unattached.Â
âboss, i donât feel so good about this right now. i think we should hurry and get out of here.â yunho spoke, a hand rubbing at the hairs that stood on the back of his neck. hongjoong didnât question further, sharing the suspenseful feeling that creeped up his spine, giving a prompt nod.
after 5 minutes were spent attaching the trailer and making sure they were ready to go, seonghwa started the engine and waited for everyone to get in. just as san and mingi were about to get in the van, the screeching of tires sounded nearby.
âget down!â and bullets went flying.
âdo you like raisin bran?â
y/n gave a slight nod, folding his hands in front of him. âsure!â yeosang held the box in the air, stopping mid-grab.
âarenât you a doctor? raisin bran has a lot of sugarâŠâ
y/n shrugged his shoulders, standing to get bowls for the both of them, âiâm a doctor, not a dentist. besides, iâm quite the sugar addict. with the injuries i see and multiple hour surgeries i perform, i need some type of a highâso sugar high it is!â
yeosang laughed, shaking his head and setting the cereal box on the counter before grabbing the milk from the fridge. âquick question doc,â yeosang began and y/n looked at him, setting the bowls and spoons down. âmilk first or cereal?â
yeosang held a laugh in when y/n had a visibly offended look on his face, a hand pressing to his chest. âyeosang, please tell me you put cereal fiââ
âshit! y/n where the fuck are you?!â someone had frantically shouted from the front of the house, yeosang and y/n giving each other a worried look before tripping over their own feet to reach the living room.
âoh myâwhat happened?!â
âfuck,â hongjoong let out a belligerent roar, âget him to the infirmary!â
y/n panicked, grabbing onto the injured man and hoisting him up into his arms, rushing to the infirmary. he looked down at the paled man in his arms, huffing out a breath of air, âdonât worry san, iâve got you!â
san lies on the medical cot, eyes still and closed and chest rising and falling in a calming pattern. y/n is sitting next to him, checking his vitals every few minutes and making sure his labs are okay. after verifying everything is stable, he sat the clipboard down, closing his own eyes and lying his head in his arms on the cot, dozing off.Â
itâd been about 3 hours since san was bought in like this. y/n couldâve laughed at how freaked out he was earlierâsanâs injuries werenât even the worst heâs ever seen or treated, but your emotions and professionalism change when the person lying on your operating table is someone you have a nice relationship with⊠and when said patientâs fellow gang members are breathing down your neck, reminding you that thereâs no other option than survival for him...
âhow is he?â hongjoongâs voice startled y/n out of his exhausted haze, the older jumping in his spot.
âheâs fine now. if youâd have been any later, he would have coded⊠and i canât do much for coding outside a hospital.â
the leader nodded his head, his chest and shoulders dropping slightly as if he could finally breathe. y/n watched him, watched how hongjoong toed around the cot, staring sanâs unconscious form down.
y/n fumbled with his fingers, running over his next words in his head before just blurting them. âis it hard?â
âwhat do you mean?â
he shrugged his shoulders, looking at the shorter, âbeing a leader⊠having to watch over everyone,â he held eye contact with the leader, trying to read his expression, âit must be suffocating when something happens to one of them.â
hongjoongâs tongue swiped over his teeth as he stared the taller down. the air around them was tenseâhongjoong knew y/n meant good by his words, but heâs not the type of person to just get emotional with people, especially those who arenât exactly close to him. the others may see y/n as someone more than a hostage, but to hongjoong, he was just that. a person they were taking advantage ofâa person who was only cooperative because his life was on the line.
âweâre going to head back to the shooting scene and see if we can find anything thatâll lead us to dongwoo, son-of-a-bitch. wooyoung and yeosang will stay with you and san⊠so let them know if you or san needs anything.â y/n cleared his throat, giving a curt nod before standing up and walking toward the cabinets, desperate to escape the awkward and tense aura.Â
when he heard the door to the infirmary shut, signaling hongjoong had left, he let out a sigh before starting to occupy himself again. he opened a cabinet, grabbing a roll of gauzeâit was time to change sanâs dressings.
as he made his way back to the cot, he noticed san was now awake and it caused him to stop in his tracks. âwhen did you wake up?â
âunfortunately, when it got awkward,â san watched y/nâs face fall, a look of embarrassment overtaking his tired features. he held back a teasing smile, leaning back on his arms, although hissing in pain and sitting back up when the pressure sent a stabbing pain through his side and shoulder. he watched y/n walk toward him and lift his clean shirt to start snipping at the dirtied gauze anchored around his naked shoulder.
a few moments went by of y/n re-bandaging and wrapping sanâs wounds before the injured boyâs head tilted to the side. he didnât know if it was because he was high off pain meds or if it was because heâs been so deprived of seeing an unfamiliar face⊠but y/n looked really handsome and flattering. even thinking about feeling that way sent a drunk feeling to sanâs head, his mind getting lost and going blank in the echoing cavity of his skull. it was no secret to himself that he was rather flexible when it came to his romantic relationships and feelings, but he was still foreign to it.
he decided to push it to the back of his mind, feeling rather rushed and irrational at the moment, ây/n hyung⊠are you feeling better now?â
the older turned to look at him, an eyebrow raised in confusion, âi should be asking thatâyouâre the one who got shot in the shoulder and stomach,â he pulled sanâs shirt back down, careful not to put pressure on his shoulder. he turned around for a moment before turning back and wrapping sanâs arm in a sling.
âthank you,â the younger softly spoke, before continuing, âi just noticed youâre more at ease with all of...this. itâs almost a complete 180 from when we first met.â
the doctorâs hands froze against his own lap, a sigh leaving his mouth and his eyes fluttering in a blink of realization, âi guess so.â
âtheyâre not hereââ
hongjoong sighed through his nose, looking rather composed; and the others thought it wasnât much of a deal until the leader kicked the seat in front of him, scaring seonghwa, who was in the driverâs seat. âcall yeosang.â
âbeen here for a while, whatâs up.â said male spoke through their communicator, sounding calm and unbothered.
âcan you please stop doing thâcan you find anything about dongwooâs whereabouts?â
âgive me a sec,â the boy registered, the clicking of a keyboard sounding into the communication device.
âalright so while yeosangâs doing what should have been done, please tell me why there wasnât an extensive amount of research on this client?â hongjoong was pissed. not only did their transaction end in a one-sided gunfight, it ended up with one of their own having more than one bullet wound.
wooyoung swallowed, knowing damn well the question was aimed at him. âhyung, i did do research. i made sure to look up what links he has with other businesses and everything that i could think of. iâve never failed at doing so-â
âthen why did you fail this time?â
it got heavily quiet, seonghwa looking at his boyfriend through the rear-view mirror. no one uttered a breath and looked away from a fidgeting wooyoung.
âaight iâm back.â
hongjoong ignored seonghwaâs prompting gaze, âwhat did you find?â
ânothing. theyâre good at covering their tracks and maybe thatâs why wooyoung couldn't find much. usually, we resort to hacking, but iâve never seen these sorts of codes before and if you want me to break the wall down it will take longer than what youâd want.â
the leader sighed once more, pinching the bridge of his nose while bouncing his right leg. âNo itâs fine, weâll just hope dongwoo and his crew donât appear again.â
âbut hyung, isnât that a little reckless-â
âyou shouldnât be one to speak right now.â hongjoong turned to glare at wooyoung, the younger male pursing his lips and nodding. âeveryone get in the car, we're going back.â
â...so iâm not going to try and hack this? aw.â
âwhatâs wrong?â san frowned as wooyoung sulked while sitting next to him on the cot.
âhyungâs mad with meâŠâ
y/n had his back facing them, trying to arrange the mess that was on the counter where all the ointments and supplies were. yunho had came in earlier to apologize for not keeping it organized, his exact words being âi just clean up their wounds as best as i can, and iâm not really in here unless itâs an emergency.â
san lingered a glance at y/n as if the older would do the same. âis it because of dongwoo?â
the younger nodded with a pout, leaning on sanâs side. âmhm, and he hasnât talked to me since.â
âwell you know joong-hyung, heâsâŠâ san thought for a few seconds, and when he couldn't find the words, he bit the inside of his cheek. â heâll get over it, just give it time. or talk to seonghwa-hyung, heâll know what to do, he always does.â
wooyoung whined, âi already did! and he said âi canât do anythingâ with that pained smile of his!â
san blinked, âwhat? youâre lying, hwa-hyung would never fail us-â
âno no, i was there. he talked to hongjoong-hyung before wooyoung came up to him...or at least tried. joong-hyung isnât talking to anyone right now. thatâs why hwa-hyung told you he canât do anything.â
âyeo, i swear youâre the nosiest person ever. like, please, iâm not sure if thatâs good or bad sometimes.â san grimaced after processing yeosangâs comment through the earpiece.
âas far as i know itâs done us more good than bad. plus, itâs my job to be nosy, remember? we all get paid for things, and i get paid for sticking my nose up yallâs business.â
âwait you do that 24/7?â wooyoung frowned.
âuh, no. sometimes i donât even intend to do it, yaâll loud as fuck so sometimes i donât even need the communicators. and i only comment on things that mean something. and before you ask this did not mean anything, i just wanted to join in the conversation.â
san snorted, âthen why didnât you just walk in here?â
âcus iâm busy right now.â
âdoing what?â wooyoung grabbed sanâs hand and played with his friendâs fingers.
âdoing what i was not authorized to doâhack that wall.â
âwonât you get in trouble?â
âmaybe,â the sound of him smacking his lips sounded, âbut at least i wonât be given the silent treatment.â
wooyoung sat up. âyah! yeosang i will come down there and kick you!â when he heard no response he jumped off the cot and walked out the room, âyeosang i warned you!â
while hearing his best friend yell down the hall, san laughed. his attention returned to y/n who had his head tilted and a confused look on his face. âwhatâs wrong, hyung?â
âhow...were you two talking to yeosang?âÂ
san hummed, smiling while tapping the clear earpiece in his ear. âwe have them on unless weâre showering and sleeping or something. but when weâre on duty we have them on, speaking of that, iâll tell jongho to get you one-â
y/n shook his hands in front of him as san was about to move, âyou shouldnât move too much, you might reopen a wound. iâll call himâŠâ y/nâs voice died down when he realized what he was volunteering to do.
at the sudden look of horror on y/nâs face, san laughed.Â
âdonât worry, jonghoâs just a buff teddy bear unless in danger. but for now, iâll call him over.â san raised his hand to his earpiece, making y/n question why he couldnât do that before. âjongho, can you bring an earpiece for y/n?â
san nodded when the younger agreed, saying heâll be there shortly. he lowered his hand and rested it on his lap. âhave you gotten along with anyone here yet?â he tried to spark conversation with the doctor, highly interested in him and feeling the need to know more about him.
âaside from yeosang, seonghwa and you, uh, not really. maybe yunho? i mean, heâs never showed any sign of hatred towards me so i guess we get along decent too...but i havenât really had a chance to meet the others.â
the younger nodded, âwell we may look tough and all, but i promise weâre all chill. hongjoong-hyung is only tough and straightforward when heâs on the lookout. just give him some time and youâll see how nice and caring he is.â
y/n hummed, âi guess..â
âi have arrived with the product~â jongho smiled while walking inside the room, a box in hand. âonce you put it on it will send yeosang a message and heâll grant access to it.â
san watched jongho gesture y/n to grab it, but he took it before the doctor did. âhere, iâll put it in for you.â
jongho did his best to not snort or laugh, leaning against the wall instead. he watched san help y/n with setting up the earpiece, amused at how san seemed interested in the doctor.
âok done, yeosang should grant access soon.â san smiled at y/n, the doctor returning it with his own.
a few minutes of quiet tension passed and jongho felt the need to do something; he pressed the button on the side of his earpiece. âyeosang-hyung, are you not going to-â
âgive me a second, i just kicked wooyoung out. if he goes up there with a black eye donât question it, heâll say what happened without you asking.â
âyou didnât actually give him a black eye did you-â
âif he did then that can easily be taken care ofâŠâ y/n commented while watching jongho roll his eyes.
âyeah i did-â
âno he didnât.â wooyoung butted in, it sounded like he was munching on something. âit was the other way around-â
san chuckled, shaking his head at his friend's bickering. he realized y/nâs earpiece was successfully connected when he saw the older grin.Â
âi bet they both have a black eye.â y/n nodded to himself.
jongho rose a brow, a grin prominent on his features. âand how much are we betting?â
y/n hummed, âthirty bucks.â
âi wanna bet too~,â san grinned, âletâs check it out then. can i move now?â
âhmm...iâd say no but you probably wouldnât really listen to me so... as long as you donât make sharp movements.âÂ
san cheered, extending his free arm to get help in getting off the cot. âletâs go then!â
âhello?âÂ
âmrs. l/n! how are you? itâs heeseung...lim heeseung.â
the woman on the other end of the phone gasped in what sounded like happiness, âheeseung! Itâs been a while since i last heard of you, is something wrong?â
the nurse leaned back into his couch, âwell i called to ask if you've seen y/nâŠâ
âi see...well we havenât heard of him for quite some time now. we thought it was because of work you know? but you two are close arenât you, i assumed you would know about his whereaboutsâ
heeseung sighs softly, âwell we were close before we broke up...i called because he hasnât appeared at work for almost two weeks now. everyone knows y/n is a workaholic so itâs rare for him to miss days. and i wanted to ask if i can go to the police and file a report.â
âhave you checked his apartment? you do know where he lives right?â
âi do...â
âwell if he isnât there then yes, go to the police station. please let us know if you find anything!â
âof course, thank you.â heeseung smiled painfully to himself, bidding farewell to y/nâs mother before hanging up. soon after he turned off his phone and sighed, he really hopes y/n is at his apartment and only took a vacation.
y/n couldnât help but bust out laughing when the three of them walked inside the kitchen. wooyoung did indeed have a black eye and so did yeosang.Â
"darn it." jongho huffed as y/n ended up winning the bet.
seonghwa stood there confused, spatula in hand as he's setting out their plates for dinner. "and what's this about?"Â
san grinned, "we made a bet to see if yeosang and wooyoung gave each other a black eye or not. and luckily y/n ended up winning."Â
"would that be called a doctors intuition?" yeosang rose a brow while glaring at the plates seonghwa handed him.Â
"good question." y/n chuckled while walking up to the second oldest. "need help?"Â
"oh, yeah, thanks." seonghwa smiled while gesturing to the drinks. "set them on the table, everyone will serve their own drinks."
"got it. oh, and after dinner, i'll need you two to come with me so we can take care of those shiners."Â
âyeah yeah...â

Companion HCs: Adopting Shy!Teenager!Sole
Note: Sole is 13-14 in this, therefor itâs completely platonic! Iâm disturbed thatâs something I have to clarify but Iâve been on Tumblr long enough that Iâve Seen Some Nonsense.Â
Cait:
She may not have her shit together at first but sheâs determined to be the best parent possible and give Sole everything her parents never gave her
She takes things slow when it comes to getting them to open up and tries to moderate her tone and temper; asks them simple questions to get to know them and tells stories to them (PG ones, of course)
Ferociously protective. If anyone, and I mean anyone, comes near them with ill-intent she flies off the handle.
And maybe part of thatâs her projecting the fact that she wished someone protected her when she was young, but she also simply never wants them to feel scared or upset or as if she wonât protect them
Gets them something to keep with them so sheâs always with them, even when she has to go somewhere and they stay in Sanctuary, like matching hats or little charms she mightâve scavenged from a collapsed store
Hancock calls Cait mama bear when she flies off the handle at Flynn (rightfully so. Hancock tells Sole to turn away and takes care of that problem like he does canonically)
Cait starts calling Sole little bear after that
Teaches them how to defend themself right away; she never wants them to feel powerless if sheâs not around
Cleans herself up to better herself for them; she absolutely refuses to turn out like her parents and therefor goes cold turkey from alcohol and chems
Itâs hard as fuck, but Sanctuary comes together to support her
Cries when they tell her they love her and call her mom the first time
Also teaches Dogmeat commands for intimidation so if Soleâs alone they have someone else to be intimidating
Sole definitely grows up with a bit of a take-no-shit attitude. They also know their worth and wonât be walked over
Curie:
Delighted to help out Sole
She definitely tries to get them interested in the sciences, but if they arenât, thatâs okay
Initially she goes on walks with them around Sanctuary and asks them questions about what they like
Picks flowers with them and teaches them how to dry/preserve them
She deals quite well with their shy silence and doesnât try to start conversations too often; she tells stories without expecting responses and makes sure to subtly encourage any talking by showing great interest
Teaches them French, which comes in handy when theyâre in Diamond City or Goodneighbor and they need to let her know theyâre anxious or uncomfortable
As soon as they let her know what will soothe their anxiety around other people, she does it without hesitation (buying stuff for them, etc)
They have their own little house in Sanctuary together with a small garden
She teaches them the scientific names of the flowers and what they need and gets them a journal to write everything down; loves encouraging their curiosity and gets excited when they ask questions about anything
As soon as they show an interest in something she throws herself into it with them
Tells dad jokes but doesnât know theyâre kind of terrible; Deacon encourages this and fully enjoys the looks on Soleâs face
Deaconâs the fun, loud uncle
Lots of hugs from Curie as long as Soleâs okay with it, sheâs very physically affectionate
Danse:
Kind of a stereotypical dad in the fact that he doesnât really do great at verbal affection but their trays are always loaded with food and they always have something once they show interest in it
Can vibe with the shyness. Heâs quiet, theyâre quiet, and he finds no reason to try and get some conversation out of them
They can both be quite awkward but itâs fine
Not great with physical affection either
If they show interest in repairing armor or guns or shooting heâs through the roof with excitement
Constantly glaring at everyone who looks at them even a little bit sideways
Honestly has scared the shit out of some people just by his expression
Builds them their own size-scaled power armor
If they gift him something, even if itâs just wildflowers they found, he accepts it quietly and once they leave he cries
If they call him dad he also cries quietly
âThereâs just something in my eye.â
Desperately wants to be a good parent and is kind of insecure about it
Has check ins with them where they have a healthy discussion about if heâs upset them in some way or if theyâd prefer he deals with something differently
The first time they travel on their own heâs worried out of his mind, as if he didnât raise a soldier of a kid (not in a bad way, but theyâre more skilled at self defense than most adults)
Sole probably inherits a rbf from him
Deacon:
The fun parent
He can be serious though
In the beginning he tries to overcompensate for their quietness by being his loud, bombastic self
When that doesnât seem to work he gets the memo and tones it down and relaxes
Honestly they get to see the ârealâ Deacon pretty soon
Heâs naturally joking and loud, however he doesnât relax and just exist with someone very often
Thatâs what he does with sole, though, and they open up more after that
Unfortunately theyâre exposed to the things the Railroad deal with quite early on, and the shit that goes with the Institute
He makes sure theyâre capable of defending themself but itâs quite scary to know that an organization wants your family dead
He makes sure to reassure them that nothing will ever happen to either of them
When they start to open up more he allows himself to act more like he does with the Railroad around them
Takes them on fun disguise runs
Theyâll come to realize that theyâre low profile stake out missions, and he just didnât want to leave them behind
Always makes sure they eat first; heâs dealt with food insecurity before himself and part of his protective nature is making sure they know heâll do everything in his power to make sure they never experience that
Matching sunglasses? Absolutely.
BEAMS when they call him dad
Gage:
Probably the most reluctant parent out of all of them, to be honest
The raider lifestyle is the worst nightmare for a child; for a week he tries balancing things, since itâs all heâs known, but he very quickly gets them out of that situation
Changes their appearances and moves into Sanctuary. Prestonâs suspicious when he avoids talking about his past but accepts them
Heâs also extremely quiet around the new settlement, so theyâre a matching pair
As protective as Cait, thatâs for damn sure
Asks them questions quite often to make sure theyâre okay: âDid you get enough to eat, kiddo?â âThose boots fit okay?â âAre you warm enough?â âShe didnât bother you, did she?â âAre you tired?â
Doesnât take offense or try to pry when they give one word answers; he gets it
Not much for physical affection either but if they seek it out he gives and reassures them theyâre not bothering him. If they hug him he pats them on the back and says âThanks for the hug, kid.â
His first gift to them is a gun and knife
He means well
If they call him dad he will get emotional but doesnât cry
Will cry years later when he thinks back on it; theyâve softened him up somewhat
Encourages them to hang out with Preston and learn about the Minutemen. Itâs valuable experience and while he and Preston arenât exactly friends they respect each other and he knows that them knowing him will be a good experience for them
Reluctant when they find Dogmeat but lets them keep him when they ask; they donât ask for much and itâs never something ridiculous
Fondly refers to him as a mutt
Eventually ends every night by giving them a sideways hug and kissing them on the top of the head. âGoodnight, kid. See you in the morning.â Before they head to bed
Hancock:
Initially a disaster parent
He has no idea what heâs doing and his lifestyle isnât set up for bringing in a kid
He cleans up pretty quickly. He doesnât use drugs if theyâre around, but he continues smoking cigarettes.
Seeks out Nick for advice
Sets them up with their own room and makes sure when they ask for something he jumps to get it; not to the point where they become entitled and spoiled but God he wants them to be happy and know he cares
Makes sure to enforce that you respect everyone unless they disrespect you, no matter where they come from
Everyone in Goodneighbor makes sure their drug use and drinking is done out of sight of Sole; their usage is their business but Hancock wonât accept them being a bad influence
Eventually almost everyone in Goodneighbor knows and takes care of Sole affectionately. They respect Hancock and respect Sole equally
They started referring to Sole as the Boss as a joke on Hancock, but Hancock, after laughing his ass off, agrees and the nickname becomes permanent
Once again, Sole grows up the opposite of entitled; theyâre very hard working and respectful and thatâs why Goodneighbor loves them so much
Hancock gifts them a necklace; itâs a wide circle, about the size of an American dollar coin, with a cutting of the fabric from his coat in the center, sewn tightly around the circle.
Eventually he introduces them to what itâs like to run Goodneighbor and involves them in the decision making
MacCready:
Another kid? Done.
He knows thereâs a lot of kids out there he canât help and he takes Sole under his wing without hesitation
He hasnât raised a teenager yet, but he treats them with respect and always asks their opinion and if theyâre comfortable
Adds another bullet to his cap after a couple days
Heâs worried their shyness is the result of trauma; thereâs no way anyone in the Commonwealth doesnât have it, but he hurts at the thought of them going throughÂ
something particularly horrific
Doesnât try to bust down their walls and get them to open up
Instead, he remains quiet and lets them come to him
Smiles to himself the first time they call him dad
Perfectly open to physical affection and is quite proud of them the first time they ask for a hug
Probably retreats back to the community where he left Duncan rather quickly
His merc work isnât somewhere for a kid and he probably turns farmer once they find the cure for Duncan
The first time Sole and Duncan bond over something heâs sobbing internally (cries externally too)
Eventually brings both Duncan and Sole back to Sanctuary; he knows the community there is good to raise them
Farmer!Mac with two kids and a small house and a dog? Adorable
(everyone in sanctuary agrees)
Uncle Preston becomes a thing and thatâs his official title to the kids
Mac and he become good friends; Macâs fond of people with good, solid morals and once he hears what Preston did/does for the Minutemen and the people they protect? Respect +100
Nick:
Good with kids, straight up
Heâs lived in Diamond City with kids running around all over the place for a while, so he knows how to talk to them
Just treats Sole with respect and expects nothing from them (affection wise) other than the same back
Tries to keep them out of detective work. Itâs depressing and he wants something more wholesome for them, as wholesome as things can be in the Commonwealth
Considers moving to Sanctuary and includes them on that decision
Takes on less risky jobs, heâs got someone to care for now
Ellie adores Sole as well and eventually co-parents, and takes over parenting while Nickâs out; whether she and Nick are platonic or romantic in this situation is up to you
Nick comes back one day and she pulls him aside to tell him Sole called them their parents and they both get emotional
He takes care to note what their favorites are; color, food, etc
More than happy to adopt Dogmeat, especially since he proves to be a good protector
Is worried about the fact that he canât be around all the time. He knows Ellieâs a good parent, but he wants to be there for everything and he simply canât be
Does have a couple talks with Sole about this to make sure they know heâs not trying to get away from them and he loves them dearly
Tells them stories about funny cases to make them laugh when theyâre upset
Blows up at McDonough if he steps a toe out of line in Soleâs direction; McDonough wouldnât dare kick him out and he knows that, he brings too much business in
Piper:
She takes one look at Soleâs face and the adoption papers are already signed, she doesnât hesitate a bit
Overcompensates for the awkward silence by talking a bit too much, but eventually figures out they probably feel weird about that
If they and Nat get along sheâs elated
Nat honestly brings them out of their shell a bit and itâs not uncommon to see Piper shouting after Nat and Sole running off, yelling for them to be careful and be back before dark
Stays in Diamond City
Sometimes asks Ellie to babysit; theyâre good friends and Nick and her get along quite well
Can get a bit heated if anyone is rude to the kids
Sheâll fist fight McDonough without hesitation if she has to, she doesnât care
Not much changes in her lifestyle, she raises them the same way sheâs been raising Nat and does her best
Preston:
Fantastic with people, itâs part of his job
Takes on the role of parent readily despite his internal panic
Worries he wonât be good enough; heâs never taken care of kids full time, and he knows being a parent is vastly different than babysitting
Definitely instills Minutemen morals in Sole; he wonât tolerate intolerance
The first time they get sick heâs full of panic. Itâs a simple cold, but he refuses to leave them alone for even a second
Relaxes a bit
He used to be out of bed and immediately dress, promptly returning to duty
Now heâs still prompt but he walks around in his pajamas more
Relaxed with physical affection but never initiates; he never wants to make them uncomfortable or make them feel like heâs trying to force himself into the parent category
If they call him dad heâs walking on clouds for the rest of the day; the fact that they think that highly of him??? Amazing
Worries heâs not good enough but when people compliment his parenting he figures heâs doing alright
Honestly complimenting his parenting is the best thing that can happen to him
X6-88:
???????
Who put him in charge of this human and what is he expected to do with them????
Fumbles hard at first
Consults the scientists (who Iâll assume put him in charge of them) and eventually picks things up on his own
Institute scientists make the mistake of trying to instill things he doesnât approve of after he grows attached to them and cares more for them than the Institute
Suddenly theyâre missing a synth and his teenager
He knows the Institute like the back of his hand; they wonât find him. Ever.
Takes them to Sanctuary when he hears the radio and seeks out Preston
He respects Preston and the way he protects everyone, considering he feels that way towards Sole, and eventually, far down the line they become friends and platonic co-parents
X6 parents Ÿ of the time, but he often seeks Prestonâs advice in the beginning
Doesnât particularly care if they call him dad; theyâre family either way
Definitely asks them about and takes interest in their interests
Just wants them to be happy
Considering theyâre pretty much his only family, heâs very attached to them; not in an unhealthy way but as they get older they call each other their best friends

More on the Fan Fic issue
I have a few more asks about the issue raised the other day, some of which are long and go into detail on the 'wars' that have been happening on Twitter and AO3.
Sorry for grouping these but I wanted to put it all under a cut because these are long, and also in case people don't want to dig into these issues (which would be understandable).
Anonymous 1 asked:
"I am very strongly of the opinion that the BJYX term is still a fandom umbrella term" I agree. Mainly because Bjyx is the most popular. Many antis always say bjyx, and have no idea the others. So sometimes it's easier just to say bjyx instead of explaining all three. I myself more like "who cares as long as they happy." So I enjoy Yizhan in all contexts. Many bxgs I know also like that, mostly ibxgs. I think deep down all bxgs (no matter which position they prefer) just want Yizhan to be happy
Not sure we can be so certain about that last part, Anon (I think for a lot of people GG and DD are just characters in a smutty story they have in their heads), but I agree about the term being popular regardless of the type of fans people are.
From what I can see the BJYX term seems to be used 80-90% umbrella, 10-20% dynamic in both international and c-social media (for every 10 times you see the term used, only one or two of those usages - probably less - are referring to a dynamic). This is my totally unscientific estimation, but I think even 10-20% dynamic is being generous. The number of people who are fixated on a sexual dynamic aren't nearly as large as they'd like to believe.
Anonymous 2 asked:
about the promptfests - iâve been on twitter since early 2020 and what iâve noticed is that this influx bjyx-only promptfests started gaining speed once lots of rational voices started leaving the fandom recently either because a) new interests have caught their attention or b) the toxicity of the popular bxg circles on twitter have become too much to handle.
gdgdbaby was usually the organizer of dynamic-inclusive events, and sheâs received lots, and lots, and lots of backlash by bxg, sometimes even by accounts with thousands followers, for using bjyx as a catch-all term. and as her interest in yizhan has since wanedâhopefully for reasons unrelated to fandom toxicityâmany of the people who were attracted to the welcoming environment she created distanced themselves as well.
zsww/lsfy fans have become an outnumbered circle who try their best to create exclusive events to avoid the âis bjyx a catch-all termâ discourse, but never seem to gain as much traction as gdgdbaby (who has a sizeable following) or those who host bjyx-only events (who also have sizeable followings).
meanwhile the dynamic war has only become more and more hostile and bjyx is clearly the more populated group⊠ao3 is simply a battlegrounds, if i may dramatize the situation a little for the sake of humor, and the promptfests are a reaction to this irritating t/b discourse that has made bxg twitter completely inhospitable for meâŠand lots of other fans too.
(iâve also noticed a huge reinforcement as of recently where ppl will call gg laopo, a milf, an omega, etc even outside of rpf (i.e. posting pictures of him at events and saying he looks pregnant or heâs going into heat) and itâs just⊠uncomfortable.)
(also please note i have a biased account of all of this drama bc many of my friends were harassed over it, and anyone who disagrees with my take may feel free to interject.)
I took the liberty of adding paragraph breaks because they are pretty important for some readers, particularly ND readers like me.
It's sad to hear how fucked up everything has become, but I'm not even remotely surprised. Toxicity leads to toxicity, and the whole idea of dividing up a RP fandom by sex position was misguided from the outset - no matter why it was done or how good the intentions might have been.
And yes, like I said, these people aren't just framing things this way for fan fic. This is how they talk about IRL GGDD.
I had written a lengthy essay here about homophobia in the fandom but deleted it all. Perhaps I'll post it separately at some later point. Suffice it to say that this stuff creates a climate that's often hostile for queer people. So much of it is deeply homophobic, whether people are aware of it or not.
It's really sad to hear about gdgdbaby being mistreated in any way. Anyone who steps up and sticks their neck out to help organize and coordinate activities that benefit a broader group of people should be celebrated and supported, not run out of town by an angry mob.
I've read some of her stories and even have one or two on my rec list. And here's someone who is not only writing good works, but also supporting others to write more good works. Such a shame.
Anonymous 3 asked:
Hello Mr. RBS! I think I can chime in a bit about the fanfic topic as Iâve watched this all unravel on twitter (where a majority of authors/readers are). I apologize if this gets long but itâs been something thatâs also been on my mind.
I want to preface this by saying that Iâm not a fan of the distinctions of dynamics as, like you said, the supposed line between real life and fanfic is long gone, so Iâm not trying to be biased against one group over another.
Short answer to the question of, âis this retaliation?â : I do believe it is. (From here onwards Iâll be using bjyx as the dynamic term just for the ease of simplicity.) To understand why, Iâll have to explain with a bit of background info. On twitter, Iâd say that thereâs a quite large divide between bjyx and zsww/lsfy. That itself isnât really a problem because people are free to like what they like and associate with whoever.
However there is a big problem where bjyx people are not just bjyx but also anti-zsww/lsfy. To the point where Iâve seen people say that they feel physically ill when they accidentally read zsww. I donât think this type of behavior should exist in any dynamic bc in the end GGDD are real people with a real relationship behind this content and itâs just a gross fetishization at that point.
With all this happening, zsww/lsfy people have gotten more outspoken on how GG is often portrayed in those types of scenarios, mainly the over-feminization of him, bc itâs not just done in the context of fanfic but regular discussion of GGDD at this point. This tension between the dynamics kind of boiled over when the pregnant xz fest was announced, as you can take a guess at how that went over with zsww/lsfy people. lol.
But around that same time, another zsww/lsfy event was announced (Iâm not sure if itâs the one anon was talking about) but the creator of the event suddenly got a ton of backlash for excluding bjyx, with the reasoning that bjyx is technically a part of lsfy. But the event was done to highlight zsww/lsfy (as all specific events are) bc the community and content for these dynamics are much less than bjyx.
Which is how we come back to the starting point of, is all this recent bjyx stuff retaliatory. I believe so bc the events (preg fest, dark event) are very specific prompts that target exactly what zsww/lsfy people have been outspoken against.
As to the point anon made about trying to drown out the tags, keep in mind that zsww/lsfy content is very minimal compared to bjyx and has only just recently started to gain more traction. I think most people would love to just peacefully exist in their own circles but I donât see this problem between dynamics disappearing anytime soon.
Like I said with the above Anon, I've added paragraph breaks for ND readers.
What a mess.
I have absolutely nothing useful to say here about the fandom on AO3 and how it's managed by community members, but I do think it's unfortunate that people choose to be war-like rather than make space for diverse voices, and I think it's a real shame that some people have been essentially run out of the fandom because of this garbage.
Thanks for giving some context for how/why the major shift in tone of fan fic lately. I had no idea any of this was going on.
I urge people to work hard to give space for all voices and perspectives, and not just the ones they favor. I'd also urge people to reflect on how their thoughts, behavior and actions in the fandom might affect queer people in the fandom.
As always, we have no control over what other people do, say or think. All we have any control over is how we respond to what other people do, say or think. Hopefully we'll chose the path of peace and try to avoid fan wars or fights that only ruin the experience for everyone.
I guess one thing I'd ask any of the Anons who have written me about this issue - or anyone who has thoughts about it - is, what can we as readers/fans who care about diversity of voices and perspectives do to support that here and on AO3, without getting involved in any kind of war?

summary: jj would take the fall for any of his friends, heâs always ready to intervene and save the day. whenever y/n needed his help without question he was ready to move the mountains for her, he would do anything for her even if it meant giving up a lot himself.Â
warnings: drug usage, soft jj, i didnât read this over yikes
inspired by the netflix original series the society and the heart-warming scene of jj taking the blame for pope so he could keep his scholarship. there is a chunk of dialogue from the societyâ all rights to them.Â
a/n: hello this is my outer banks side-blog you can find my other writing here at @nostalthiccâ. send some request.Â
you never want to be the one on the outside looking in but for y/nâs friends that precisely what they were going through. for the last hour or so, kiara, pope, and jj have been posted outside of y/nâs room door waiting for her to let them in and explain whatâs going on. she was honestly an open person, so this caught everyone by surprise, what would happen for y/n to spend hours crying in her room? none of them knew what to do or what to expect; thatâs why the pogues stayed at her door listening to the horrifying sobs, waiting for john b to get here with some food and drinks.
âwhat do you mean she wonât come out?â john b asked calmly as he pinched the bridge of his nose, pondering for a solution. food didnât work, nor did her favorite drink. they needed to get creative because everyone was restless, and jj was ready to kick down the door- this was strongly disapproved by all the pogues. âokay, okay, listen. clearly, she doesnât want all of us to see her right now, so we send one of us, right?â everyone nodded in agreement before all their eyes trailed to jj.
he rolled her eyes, gesturing john b to give him goods, it was no lie when it came to jj and y/n, the two of them had an unbreakable bond, and they were hoping that would help him get through to the girl. âiâll call you in an hour.â
once the rest of the pogues were gone, jj slid down the wall, he knocked a few times announcing he was the only one left but still no response. after many failed attempts, he did the only logical thing to do, jj pushed a perfectly rolled blunt under the door.
a few moments later, he heard her hoarse voice. âi don't have a lighter.â
a smirk graced his lips, jj knew weed would do the trick, it always does. he was close to sliding his lighter to y/n, but an idea popped into his head. âif you want it, you gotta open the door.â he hesitantly spoke, hoping it wouldnât cause her to inclose herself back into the room but to jj's luck y/n opened the door. it was difficult for him to take in her appearance, her hair was a disheveled mess atop her head, her eyes and nose were red from crying, tear stains ran down her cheeks, and y/n had a broken look in her eyes. jj hated seeing his friend like this, he would give anything to see a smile on her face instead of her dull expression.
"stop starring and give me the lighter." y/n held her hand out. "please." she added, not looking the boy in his eyes in fear of him asking her more questions. but she should have none better; this was jj.
"hey, wait, wait, wait." he began, getting onto his feet. "you don't get to lock us out of your room when you're clearly hurting and then act as though nothing happened. uh-uh y/n, not with me. you and i both know i don't work that way."
"well, maybe you should have let kie or pope stay because i have every intention of pretending nothing happened. i'm fine." a scowl was evident on your face, but he knew she was hurting and trying to push him away, he'd done it a thousand times himself.
jj drew a long breath before stepping into the room, noting she didn't try to stop him. "doesn't matter. i'm here, and you are not fine, so tell me what's up."
y/n wanted to tell him, she really did, but none of this was his problem, y/n knew jj already had enough on his plate and didn't need to be plagued with her difficulties- none of them did. she needed to figure this out on her own, the pogues wouldn't help her get out of this one. the smoke from jj's hit drew y/n out of her thoughts, she hadn't even noticed he had made himself right at home on her bed.
"okay, hit me." he leaned towards the girl, handing her the lit blunt. she declined, turning away and dragged her fingers through the mess on her head. "something's definitely wrong, you don't want to smoke. what's going on, you opened the door for my lighter but not to light the blunt? that doesn't make a lick of sense, not one bit. you know you have to light it to smoke it, right?"
his rambling was overwhelming the girl, she couldn't even begin to think when jj wouldn't shut up. of course, she knew she had to light the blunt, she wasn't an idiot, but the consequences that came with the blunt weren't worth it. before jj could send her into another spiraling break down y/n rushed to the bathroom, unintentionally slamming the door. little did she knew it allowed jj the perfect opportunity to get some answers, which he indeed found.
"y/n, i'm not playing this game again, open the door." he hissed while tugging on the doorknob. "the rest aren't here to stop me, i will kick this down." silence. "i know, y/n, i know you're pregnant, just come out."
"i'm scared," she confessed, a sob raking through her body.
"i know, sweetheart, but if you open the door i can help you, we'll figure this out, okay?" jj smiled triumphantly when y/n slowly appeared, but it instantly faded when he regarded her broken stance. quickly he swept her into his arms, holding her in a tight embrace as she cried.
y/n momentarily pulled away. "i fucked up bad, i fucked up so bad. what am i supposed to do?" jj didn't want to engage in such a touchy conversation until she had calmed down and was in the right headspace, so he held onto her tighter, rocking back and forth.
when y/n finally regained herself and dried all her tears, the two were able to sit face to face, one pogue to another, and have the awaited conversation. although y/n would admit it, she was relieved to have the weight lifted off her chest.
"it's not mine, though, right? i don't remember anything, but i've been pretty drunk in the past." the boy teased, earning a small smile from his best friend, a smile he has been waiting to see for ages. y/n threw a pillow at his face claiming this wasn't a joking matter, but jj didn't miss the giggle passing her lips. "seriously, do you know who the father is?"
"i don't ever want you to ask me that question again ." y/n was slightly offended he would even fix his mouth to mutter such a question, but she pushed her offensive away to reply. "just respect that one thing, Â i don't want him in my baby's life, ever. that's the end of it, don't ever ask me that again."
jj apologized; those were not at all his intentions, but he was curious about who had landed the girl, not many others. he had a few ideas of his own; however, he chose to not further push the subject. he adverted his attention and proposed more simplistic questions, the basics; when did you find out? how did you find out? how are you feeling? do your parents know?
most we easy, straight-forward questions, yet one specifically caught notice. "yes, they know, i needed to ask my mom for guidance, they just want to know who the father is and i can't tell them, i won't tell them, but i fear what will happen if i don't."
"this guy, you really don't want him anywhere near you or your baby?" jj entreated, y/n replied with a nod. she could see the wheels turning in his head, which never resulted in a good idea. "then i'll be the father, i'm the father, simple."
y/n eyes grew the size of saucers, she had no words, no thoughts, all she could do was stare closely at her friend who wore a look of eagerness upon his features. y/n wasn't sure she heard him right. "no, you don't have to do that?"
"why not? jj counted.
she scoffed, rolling her eyes at his attempt. "this isn't like taking the blame for me when i almost blew up the chemistry lab-."
"-god, you owe me so much."
"i'm serious, this isn't a joke, jj." she tucked a few fly-aways behind her air. "it's big, and it's forever. you don't get to say that if you don't mean it." a mix of emotions were coursing through her veins; sadness, confusion, anger, gratitude, hatred. y/n couldn't pinpoint exactly which one, but they all were making her dizzy.
"you're my best friend, and i love you. of course, i mean it." jj placed a light kiss on the top of her head, he often made impulsive decisions especially when they involved the people he loved, but this one felt right. y/n felt right, she had done so much for him, and he was ready to do this for her and the baby. his baby. "i'd do anything for you y/n, and that'll never change, i will do everything to protect the two of you."
she watched with admiration in her eyes as jj explained all the details, she has a new level of respect and love for him, one that can never be replaced. y/n was content; finally, an emotion she never thought would plague her being after she found out the news, she was awaiting the future, but the future didn't have as glorious as plans as the pair hoped for.
jj had convinced y/n it was best if they told her parents as soon as they got home, he didn't want her to face y/f/n and y/m/n's wrath any longer. they were typical, uptight, materialistic kooks, and he had soon how disapproving they could be up close and personal. once they were informed, y/n and jj could better plan for the future, like a doctor's appointment as soon as possible. maybe it didn't go as smoothly as they planned, but at least it was over with.
"a pogue?" y/n's mother gasped, earning a stone-cold glare from her daughter. her father's reaction was much less surprising as if he expected the news. "as if you hanging around them wasn't enough."
"y/m/n, calm down." mr. l/n spoke in a somber tone, sure maybe he wanted to throw around some unkind words of his own, he was keeping his composure together for his daughter's sake. "that's not what we need to focus on." he began, scratching at his chin. "i'll make an appointment with dr. chen on the mainland, we will help you financially, but we expect you two to show some initiative as well."
y/m/n scoffed, her eyes zeroed in of jj, disgust was written on her face. she hated pogues because she used to be one and since she married y/n's father. y/m/n had wholly forgotten where she came from. "we'd be better off sending y/n to live with your aunt, you think he will be able to support y/n and her baby."
"-our baby." jj intervened. "you're not sending her or my baby away. i may be a pogue, but i know better than anyone how important family is, and i will assure i will do everything for these two." y/n's heart clenched as he spoke, she couldn't help but feel guilty for the way her parents were treating him when the baby wasn't even his. he shouldn't have to worry about providing for the baby, none of this was fair, and y/n felt ashamed for allowing jj to do this.
shortly after jj's rant, the two were able to get out of there and away from her mother. now it all came down to somehow explaining this the pogues. the entire drive to the cut y/n kept asking the boy if he was absolutely certain he wanted to go through with this, that there was still time to back out and live his life, but jj continuously assured her this is what he wanted to do, and he wasn't changing his mind.
the group had mixed reactions, which jj and y/n had expected. john b was mainly confused as to how this happened, the pair had never shown a romantic interest in each other, or a sexual one either. many questions plagued through his head, but john b decided to wait because he understood how overwhelming this is for his friends. pope was freaking out, going on about how a baby is a lot of work and it's presence throwing off the dynamic of the group. he shared his troubles with y/n's schooling as well as other minor concerns, pope sounded more like their parents than a friend. and lastly kiara, she was a bit leerier about the subject, she was a hard believer of the no pogue on pogue macking rule and with good reason to. what's done is done, and she made it clear she was the baby's godmother, this caused john b and pope to start bickering about how got to be the godfather.
y/n was happy with her friend's reaction, sure they may not know the entire truth, but the pogues treat her or act any different. it was merely another hardship they'd have to face together because it takes a whole village to raise a child, right? but no all good things last and y/n's pregnancy announcement spread very fast through the outer banks, and it may have caught a certain kook by a bit of a surprise.

Gochiusa BLOOM episode 3 impressions
Previously: episode 2, episode 1 (seriously, the number of notes on ep 2 review is too low...)
Welcome to another review of Gochuumon wa usagi desu ka? BLOOM. In this episode, the series explores a topic it rarely touched previously, which is school life. Unlike many similar slice-of-life series, Gochiusa rarely concerned itself with such a mundane setting, preferring the ambience of cafés and cobblestone streets. There were a few exceptions, such as the first half of season 2 episode 10, but this is the first episode fully dedicated to a school setting.
Another distinguishing trait of Gochiusa is that the group of main characters attends not one, but several different schools. In particular, there are two high schools: a ânormalâ one attended by Cocoa and Chiya, and an âeliteâ one attended by Sharo and Rize. Moreover, thereâs a group of middle school characters on the verge of graduating. As such, the question of which high school will Chino, Maya and Megu eventually choose was bound to come to the forefront at some point. And thatâs exactly what happens in this episode.
Thereâs a lot of interesting stuff to discuss, so letâs get down to business...
The episode opens with a shot of Aoyama Blue Mountain on a boat, which also appears in the beginning of season 1 episode 1. By the way before COVID you could totally ride a boat like this in Colmar. Just watch your head...
Yeah, this is under the bridge from season 2 ED. Filmed by me.
Anyway, Iâm being sidetracked. Whatâs important is that this is the only shot where you could tell itâs morning, because of the angle of the shadow from the bridge. It is indeed morning, and we see Cocoa and Chino walking down to school. Seems the summer vacation is over and itâs already September? Cocoa, the self-described pikka-pika no onee-chan, tries to coerce Chino into committing to enter the same high school as her, while Chino is not sure about that. Weâve seen Chino being unsure about her future as recently as this seasonâs episode 1, and in regards to the high school choice the time for a decision is quickly approaching.
Soon we see Maya and Megu who are facing the same decision. Megu seems to have already decided on what Maya derisively calls the gokigenyo school. The greeting gokigenyo (ăæ©ć«ăă) comes from the word âkigenâ (æ©ć«) which means âmoodâ, and can be literally translated as âhow do you doâ. However the same word is also used as farewell, which often causes troubles for translators.
The concept of âgokigenyo schoolâ has been popularised by the light novel and anime series Maria watches over us (Marimite), which is also one of the most influential works of the yuri genre. This concept has also been parodied a number of times, for example in the excellent episode 5 of Flip Flappers.
Megu manages to convince Maya and Chino to come with her to a tour of this school, and we get a close-up of Maya hinting that sheâs definitely hiding something.
Meanwhile at Cocoaâs school, the class president declares the theme of the cultural festival being âcafeâ, and puts Chiya and Cocoa in charge of it, because they work at a cafe. It seems that Chiya is considered to be more dependable than Cocoa by her classmates, since she got a higher rank. Nevertheless, it is Cocoa who mostly delivers the speech to fire up the other students.
Note the usage of Chinese tally marks to tally the votes. The five strokes comprising the character æŁ (âtruthâ) equate 5 votes. This method is popular across East Asia, even in Korea where Chinese characters are no longer used.
Also Iâve seen a lot of people were confused by the inclusion of âsex museumâ as one of the proposals, which is how ç§ćźé€š (hihokan) has been translated by the official subtitles. This word, which literally means âthe hall of hidden treasuresâ has been used by various establishments of this type in post-war Japan, however only few of them remain open now. I think âsex museumâ is a bad translation because, while technically correct, it breaks mimesis, or in simpler terms, immersion. The English translation is so blatantly inappropriate that it would never make it onto this blackboard, whereas the Japanese word is obscure and innocent-looking enough that it just might. A better translation would be âadult museumâ, in fact thatâs what the most well-known hihokan, Atami Hihokan uses for its English title.
As proof of each otherâs ability, Cocoa mentions Chiyaâs triple tray wielding skill (ăçäžćæ” obon santoryu) which has been demonstrated in season 2 episode 1. Chiya brings up Cocoaâs âbasking in the sunâ (æ„ćăŒăŁă hinatabokko) attitude which supposedly makes her popular among customers. This is a reference to season 2 episode 5 where Rize says Cocoa always either practices latte art or basks in the sun.
On the way back from school, we learn that Chiya is actually scared of the responsibilities placed on her, and her dream of becoming the president of Ama Usa An franchise (which has been mentioned in s2e1, s2e9 and maybe other episodes I forgot) might be ruined because of this. Cocoa consoles her, again showing her motherly side.
Back at Rabbit House, Cocoa explains how the upcoming festival will be exciting (wakuwaku) and fluffy/cuddly (mofumofu). This is one of several times Cocoa uses silly onomatopoeia to describe something in this episode (aforementioned pikkapika onee-chan and describing her school also as mofumofu in a latter scene). Interestingly, all of these lines are anime-original, and at this point seems like an intentional effort to make Cocoa speak in a more eccentric manner.
In the next scene Sharo becomes angry at Chiya for keeping secrets from her, and blows her cheeks, which makes her turn into a Fugu fish, according to Chiya. Fugu is famous in Japanese cuisine for being a highly poisonous but sought after delicacy, however in this case the comparison has to do with the tendency of a live fugu (as well as other pufferfish) to inflate its stomach, giving it an almost spherical appearance to deter predators.
Next thereâs another anime-original CocoChino scene where Chino asks Cocoa about what her school is like. This is my favorite part of the episode because itâs just so adorable. Like, even the fact that Cocoa is drying Chinoâs hair with a towel after bath shows how close they became. The direction and the delivery of the dialogue is masterfully executed. Cocoa would be really hurt if Chino chooses any other school, and Chino knows that. But Chino canât admit sheâll choose her next school because of Cocoa, at least not yet.
Now we move on to the main plot of the episode, which is Chimame visiting Rize and Sharoâs school. Like I said in the preview, this episode covers chapters 10 and 11 of the volume 5 of the manga, which in-universe occur at the same time. However while it fully covers (and has the same title as) chapter 10, only the first half of chapter 11 is included. So about 2/3 of the episode are dedicated to the story of chapter 10.
Chimame attend a speech by âOGâ Mate Rin. OG in this case doesnât mean âoriginal gangstaâ, but âold girlâ, which is a Japanese term for female alumni of some school (thereâs also OB for men). Chino recognizes Rin as the editor of Aoyama Blue Mountain, and Iâm not sure if Maya and Megu ever met her, so they donât. When Rin recalls a senior who turned her life around, Chino recalls her chance meeting with Cocoa. In particular the phrase deai ga taisetsu (âchance meetings are to be cherishedâ) sticks with her. On the other hand, Maya seems to be interested in the fact that Rin was recommended for scholarship. Interestingly in the manga, Maya slept through most of the speech.Â
The senior Rin was talking about was obviously Aoyama and we see that thereâs actually a huge bounty placed on her. The currency sign consisting of combined letters G and U wasnât seen before, with prices usually displayed in yen, but there was a Euro-like sign at an open market at the beginning of season 2 episode 1, which might be a shorthand way to write GU. Either way this currency must have a serious hyperinflation problem as the reward for finding Aoyama exceeds 10 billion GU. In countries affected by hyperinflation, a stable foreign currency is often used to perform economic transactions, which might explain why most of the prices are in yen.
But is there some significance to this exact number? Why, yes, 10/27 is Aoyamaâs birthday! It is also the start of âreading weekâ, which actually lasts 2 weeks, until November 9.
After the speech Megu gets separated from the rest of the group, and the other two also get lost in the vast campus of the school. As seen from the above interior shot of the school, it is also inexplicably rabbit-themed (or maybe just this particular hall is), with golden rabbit statues and also a picture on the left wall with the kanji for rabbit (ć
).
Through a series of misunderstandings Chimame end up infiltrating the school with Sharo and Rize providing uniforms for them to blend in. Despite having trouble to behave âladylikeâ before, Maya naturally blends in once she treats it as a game, and even gets invited to a tea party. She makes a mistake though by mentioning moyashi (bean sprouts) which is considered a cheap and low-class food, but sheâs saved by the fact that the rich girls donât even know what that is, and Sharo explaining how to prepare it in a fancy way.
Eventually the groups meet each other and Maya reveals she has been recommended for scholarship due to her good grades. Perhaps she also treated her school grades as experience points to gain, as the title of the episode (and the manga chapter) âThe whole world is my experience pointsâ seems to suggest. This is the idea behind a real concept of gamification, by the way.
Thereâs also a callback to the season 2 episode 8, where Maya asks Rize for advice while Chino and Megu are spying on her. It is worth to rewatch that scene, because itâs full of foreshadowing for this episode. Back then Maya thinks sheâs the only one of the three to go to this school, but now she thinks thereâs a good chance all three will still go to the same school. Chino doesnât seem to feel this way though.
In the end we see Cocoa and Chiya joining the group, also wearing the elite school uniforms, which is briefly explained by them gathering supplies for the cultural festival. I guess the next episode will explain how they ended up there. In the manga even the fact that they have a cultural festival wasnât revealed until this point. Also in the manga fukiya club president, Karede Yura, inexplicably appears for just one panel so that Cocoa and Chiya could thank her, without any lines. In the anime she appears just as (if not more) suddenly, however thereâs some foreshadowing with her inviting Rize to a tournament earlier, and she gets quite a few speaking lines.
If you listen closely thereâs a funny sound effect as she looks at Rize, and then at Sharo. I really liked her design since her first appearance in the manga, and Koi probably does too, as her role has greatly increased in the recent chapters. Consequently her single-panel background appearance has been expanded as well in this episode, she got her full name mentioned in the credits, and thereâs even a Karede Yura character song included on the second BD volume (which includes this seasonâs episodes 3 and 4). All things considered, I fully expect Yura to appear in the episode 4 as well.
The episode ends with Chino looking at the sky with a worried expression. It just hit her that both Megu and Maya are going to a different school than she is expected to go to. As Megu and Maya have a clear path forward, Chinoâs future has become even more uncertain, and she feels like the odd one out in the group. Now the part of the ending where Chino is suddenly alone makes sense:
this is basically her imagining the future where Maya and Megu leave her. The coffee cup transition symbolises Chino waking up and seeing that MaMe are still her friends and arenât going anywhere. Weâll see though...
This time itâs Megu doing latte art in the ending, and the picture is of Chino and Maya dancing. The weird thing is, Megu wasnât even present at this scene, so how did she draw it in such detail?
Also another random fact I noticed: Chinoâs Alice costume actually appeared in the opening of both season 1 and season 2. Hereâs a comparison for reference:
Anyway, that was the third episode of Gochuumon wa usagi desu ka? BLOOM and I hope you enjoyed reading my review. See you next week... or so.

spiritual power for a beautiful life
What do i imply with the assistance of religious power? Take into consideration those human factors-power, strength, skill, skills and overall performance. All 5 of these need to be within the appropriate region to recognise achievement in life. There could be no such discussion in an animal's life. The procedure of self-assessment and self-development is that the most truly effective present given by god for human existence. No animal can ever consider or accept as true with the technique called self-evaluation and self-improvement. Exactly what do we imply by utilizing that spiritual power?
Improvement is an outside issue and improvement is an indoor consider that you apprehend that which you are doing is some distance more than that which you wont to do. I'm not the usage of any big philosophical words or religious explanation. Improvement can be quite a opportunity handiest you've the vitality to guage yourself from status to what you should love to understand. The five energy vampires: aside from what percentage ever talent or skills you possess, you'll not be prepared to perform once you've got any of these mentioned 5 defects (which i might desire to period of time as power vampires): fitness, melancholy, fear, doubt and fear, anger & guilt. Out of the , simply one is physical and consequently the residual each one is intellectual. Furthermore, health is that the very best point as a means to be linked to animals due to the undeniable fact that additionally they suffer as a result of diverse external elements.Â
The past 4 can be quite a possibility best in people. Fitness: no-one can ever blame anybody for no longer having well-being.In preference to taking self-duty, they blame the society, neighbours, the leaders or all and sundry for example, for devoid of the capacity to specialise of these fitness. We fail to recognise that it's our incapacity to specialize in health-notwithstanding realizing that oahu is the important and fundamental useful resource to appreciate what you may would like in life regardless of one's past overall performance, skill or talent. I wants you all to follow one simple aspect in your community of health. I am no longer insisting you to start doing what's precise for you, however i'm insisting you to save you doing what is no longer suited to you. Just in case there isn't a clear cause to utilise your power, it clearly way you're wasting it. Don't contain in just about any action with out a clear rationalization of âwhat i'm doing and why i'm doing it&rdquo ;.This enables you to chop down the wastage of strength which can not simplest allow you to deal by having an sincere fitness, but also assist you to regain the fitness that you simply honestly have lost. Despair: despair is nothing however a experience that you merely are not geared up to do what you should really like to attempt to to (that you're able to doing). This problem mightn't best suck the electricity that you genuinely have gained however also immediately influences the immunity of the body.Melancholy additionally happens after you lose your loved ones. Among both of these regions, one has no manipulate over the opposite. It is a acknowledged incontrovertible undeniable fact that everybody has were given to transport far from their human frame to the adventure of the soul, however nevertheless our thoughts won't take delivery of the very most truth straight away.Â
That is regularly in that the religious exercise lets you clearly receive and remember that brooding about that which you have misplaced or brooding approximately that which you are not able to try and to is not attending to aid you in just about any manner, as an alternative it will simplest smash the prevailing goodness of existence. Fear, doubt and worry: those 3 elements are the opportunity only there's an unfulfilled choice. There's no such aspect called preference in an animal's global. We citizenry can by no means depart without a desire. We may additionally call it with the assistance of different names like cognizance, intention or vision. I am now not speaking approximately economic abundance or bodily ownership. Permit's point out simple dreams type of a determine wanting their youngsters to attain proper marks. Most of us eager to experience comfort kind of a vehicle, personal house, and so on. Might be a preference. No human can count number their goals or exactly tell what number are fulfilled or what percentage are unfulfilled. Nevertheless they understand that they desire a fear for many times , uncertainty about the long run , or fear approximately the beyond. Of these arise because of unfulfilled goals. With proper meditation and clean imaginative and prescient, you may gain the facility that occurs all of the dreams. This could additionally offer you the energy to cast off all of the unwanted dreams. There after, your complete recognition are going to be in your desires and to shape positive that they are fully fulfilled. That is frequently feasible best thru conviction which is often experienced only via meditation. In every other case, in spite of getting the energy to experience the requirement , you'll stay without worry but you will have worry and doubt approximately the long term. Many unexplainable fears and doubts will stay in the thoughts which can be removed simplest through the best kind of meditation. Anger:
whilst all the above factors are understood, this is frequently wherein one lives without anger and guilt. Anger is just the energetic kind of fear and doubt, and every doubt and fear is that the passive kind of anger and guilt. The primary thing you wish to recognize about anger is that the reason behind it. There is no use of controlling anger without understanding the main reason. While some thing is not going on as based on your expectancies, or after you aren't sure about your future, you routinely explicit anger. The explanation behind each anger is, again, health, depression, fear, doubt and fear. Guilt: you being disappointed with something or someone which influences you is recognized as anger, however, you being dissatisfied in your very own self is guilt. Guilt is related with the past. It's either what proceeded to you or what you've got carried out to someone before which affects you within today's or visits make a splash on you in the future.Â
That is frequently where the knowledge about the soul and karma offers you all of the facility to stand the guilt due to the fact with this particular statistics , you can remember that aside from how many errors you've dedicated before, you'll still remove the outcomes of the beyond karma and produce a life you'd like to measure in the destiny via doing some thing inside today's with complete conviction and recognition. That is frequently feasible best with the spiritual energy. You have were given to remember that non secular existence doesn't mean renouncing the sensible international; as an alternative, it is a life style alteration sooner or later of that you gain spiritual strength to get rid of of the five defects. In today's world, the term âspirituality'possesses a polluted meaning. Virtually , the everlasting fact of spirituality is not deed from existence; it's as an alternative having the vitality to win atlanta divorce attorneys section of life. Therefore, i would like most of you to understand that the above five defects can impact you at any point of it slow in case there isn't the immunity to resist them. Meditation with clean vision is not best a religious exercise, however is that the immunity for an honest life. So, inform yourself that regardless how terrible your past changed into or how large your trouble is, with the know-how about self and consequently the realistic technology of karma, anybody is blessed the capacity to degree a existence freed from these defects and reap extremely hard success in each factor of life.

From Concept To Patent To Successful Product
What To Do With Your Invention Idea
Eventually in your life, you have possibly had among those "aha" moments.
You understood there was an imperfection, something missing out on, or a possibility to develop a much better means of achieving something.
Although every person has these moments, few latch onto their suggestion and recognize that there is an invention trying to reveal itself.
Also, much less aim to create that suggestion and patent it.
All that to say: Developers are individuals.
They're not superheroes. They're not always abundant to start and also they're not necessarily of some intergalactic INTELLIGENCE degree that makes your above-average knowledge seem equivalent to a rock.
No ... innovators are just individuals. Like you.
No matter of background, IQ, or superpowers, successful creators do have certain typical natural high qualities.
Among those high qualities is drive.
They have the drive to be relentless as well as follow up non-stop with each step in the invention procedure.
Successful inventors are hungry for success - they envision it and press themselves to discover the path toward it.
The daily ideator who puts action and also intent behind his suggestion with this level of drive is most likely to become a successful capitalist (given the item is feasible, of course).
It takes place constantly on Shark Tank right in the public eye, and it takes place thousands of thousands of times per year somewhere else.
If you believe you're simply the "daily ideator" and also do not have what it takes to press your concept via to success, take a look at the video clip listed below, "From Suggestion to Cash," an interview with Rick Receptacle.
Rick is among Shark Storage tank's most successful business owners. He created viewers, a magnetic clip that safeguards analysis glasses onto your individual. also check out the help of invention help
It was a basic suggestion created from the truth that Rick kept shedding his analysis glasses. Invention concepts are commonly ideal in front of your face - in this instance, essentially.
Taking Invention Suggestions To Success
If you have ever before googled anything related to patenting an invention suggestion, you were most likely inundated with advertising and marketing messages and advertisements for days, weeks, and maybe even months following your search.
Just remember this: You can not patent a suggestion.
Gasp! Yet wait ... I maintain seeing ads as well as firms that inform me, "Patent your invention idea quickly!" and more.
Yes, proper, but it is not this first idea that you would certainly seek to immediately patent.
The initial idea about how you will produce, fix, or improve something requires to morph to become a real invention. You'll have to do some job ... you'll require a few of that drive to get there. You can also get help with invention
The truth is that your preliminary idea could be an invention as well as it could be patentable, yet you require to do some surrounding as well as a thorough study to ensure a couple of things:
Initially, That your idea addresses a problem and works;
Second, nobody has already invented it (by carrying out a prior art patent search);.
Third, your suggestion is not apparent. This is tricky and also a specialist who is experienced in the art or field of your invention idea has to eventually identify if your idea is "nonobvious"
The Adversary Remains In Your Suggestion's Information
When you can define your idea in wonderful enough information, the suggestion after that goes beyond to one more level. It comes to be the start of your invention.
Rick Receptacle's suggestion was easy: "I need to stop losing my analysis glasses.".
He included information to that idea, enough to ultimately think of readers, his invention. Now I'm not Rick, yet allow's go through what that may have appeared like.
One night, Rick was being in his love seat catching up on "Freeway To Sell.".
A commercial came on, and that was Rick's sign to pick up his tablet computer as well as catch up on the information of the day.
As he clicked the CNN application he understood he didn't have his reading glasses.
He frisked his lap fruitless.
He viewed on the coffee table; absolutely nothing. Nightstand; no-go. Where are those checking out glasses?
Inventors, this is what's called a "pain point.".
If you're actively seeking concepts for brand-new inventions, they are all over - you simply have to maintain your eyes peeled for the discomfort points.
Exactly how do you recognize it's a discomfort point?
Great concern, easy solution.
If you feel annoyed incidentally something functions or by something that maintains happening (like shedding your analysis glasses while you're viewing TV), think of your concern on a larger scale. Do you believe more people are shedding their glasses? If indeed, after that continue!
What's next?
Well, Rick needed to detail the issue as well as consider just how to solve it. He did this with solid documentation as well as a thorough focus being paid to it daily.
In his case, the solution was magnetized. Currently, did Rick invent the magnet? No, not.
An additional idea: You can utilize existing items or inventions as an item of your remedy. Yet as you are detailing your idea, you must specify precisely just how it is utilized and why your invention is still one-of-a-kind.
Documenting Your Invention Concept.
The recording is a vital component of the creating procedure.
At some point, you may need to count on your documentation throughout situations such as legal process or establishing or preserving legal rights to your invention.
You have to record your activities correctly - your paperwork may someday need to be valued in court and you must keep that in mind as you're working on it.
Due to the implications of your idea documentation, the most effective technique - and essentially a should - is to record whatever in an innovator's journal. This ought to be a bound publication with phoned number pages and every web page and also note need to be dated
Advantages Of Invention Idea Paperwork.
There are some benefits to recording your suggestions as you relocate through the stages of the invention process.
1) Evidence - Every patent should divulge the innovators of the concept, and also your journal can show your "inventorship".
2) Expedite the patent procedure - A well-documented invention idea aids improve the process when you fill in your patent application. This is a means you can conserve time and money in the future - 2 very important assets.
3) Assume and re-think your idea - Writing forces you to analyze your tasks and concepts to clarify what it is that you have developed. This process can evoke further ideas on how to change or enhance your preliminary vision.
4) Sanity - Documentation aids you remember what you have done and also considered in the past and also prevents unnecessary redundancies in your job.
5) Taxes - If the moment you have invested ideating and creating is part of a company, you may have the ability to look for tax reductions for the expenses that you incur. You ought to speak to your accounting professional concerning whether or not this relates to you.
File Your Idea With this Information.
The objective of describing out your suggestion for an invention is to broaden so deeply right into the concept of why your idea is such a fantastic invention, as well as what it addresses, that any individual that reads it will completely understand the description and agree with you that your suggestion requires to be an invention; it can much better the world, even if in some small way.
When you have sufficient information to accomplish this, you are after that going to be ready to patent your concept ... or your invention ... it's a type of both at this moment.
Here are some of the information you'll require your concept. Make this you are 'at minimum' checklist as well as, based upon your invention as well as category, increase upon it as essential: also check https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/InventHelp-Reviews-E152162.htm
1. A stellar description of what your suggestion is and what it does (you will require this for the Requirements part of your patent application so it isn't for naught or flair - do a fantastic work). Below is a fantastic rundown of what your summary can include: Title or name of your suggestion; the technological field as well as the group it falls under; background information on prior art, previous licenses or licenses pending (in various other words, just how have others attempted to resolve something like this); the trouble or test your concept will certainly attend to as well as just how you will certainly address it in different ways and effectively (because your suggestion requires to be one-of-a-kind); an example or two of usage situations for your suggestion.
2. Illustrations, layouts, as well as illustrations of exactly how it functions and also what it resembles. Measurements are good right here too so all can imagine and also conceive the size of the real-life model. You can describe your invention's representations in your description. As well as remember this suggestion: Even more is more. The even more pictures and also representations you have, the far better you will certainly see your idea, as well as the much better someone else can translate what your suggestion is and does. (By law, you will certainly need a minimum of one attracting to request the patent).
3. Try to list products in as much deepness as feasible. Talk concerning the details of each part and also exactly how they fit together as well as function together.
4. Various "personifications," or versions, of the invention idea. The hard truth is, not everyone will see points your method. Your concept, albeit proprietary to you, can be changed. You'll intend to account for the potential variations of your invention. The main factor is simple: If you do not describe variations of your invention and someone else has essentially the very same invention however various means of creating it, after that it is no more your invention (particularly with the First to Submit (FTF) laws).
5. Days. Every little thing needs to have a day. Every suggestion, every representation, every idea, and also every time you go back as well as erase believed from a previous day - sign as well as date whatever.
6. The target market of your invention. You'll intend to think about your end-users, your customers, as well as any individual else in the circle of impact. If you have developed a kind of apparel, you're listing out that wears it, but additionally, that might produce it, that may buy it for the individual who wears it, what it takes on - any person you assume your product pertains to.
If you've completed this listing for your suggestion, you're well on your means of filing a patent as well as having an invention of your very own. If you would certainly like to assist with obtaining a patent or submitting your application, allow us to recognize what we can do to sustain you.
My tip is not to hurry this part of the process.
Complete the workouts, take some time away, and after that revisit what you created. Your detailed summary and layouts must make your idea implementable by anybody that uses it.
Keep in mind, when you file your patent you can't make changes. The application you submit becomes your patent.
You want to be double and also three-way certain you have the information you require around your concept in that application.

a worthwhile catfish - steve rogers x reader
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Word Count: 2.7k
Warnings: Language maybe, Iâm not gonna check tbh and dating app usage which in itself is a goof
A/N: Welcome to Day Eleven of Hello Spring by @ibwhellospring! Hereâs a little something something for ya, with Steve and tinder and all around fluffy goodness. There is scope for a part two here so let me know if thatâs something youâd read. Lots of love to youse all <3
Prompt: âWhere should we meet?â
masterlist in my bio and tags in the reblog! please drop me an ask to be tagged in bucky, steve or all the hello spring pieces!
---
It was just a regular day, or so it seemed. You were sat in a little coffee shop, a cup of tea at your right hand and a delicious half eaten pastry at your left. Your laptop was perched in the middle of the table and you were getting on with some work that, strictly speaking, should have been sent off two days ago. You were rather lucky your boss was so understanding.
After an hour or so, you finished off the work and sent it off with a triumphant smile, clapping your laptop shut and then looking around as if someone else had done it when a few eyes glanced up from their plates. As you were finishing off your own drink, you haphazardly pulled your phone out of your pocket and your focus landed on the little app in the top corner.
It couldnât hurt to have a little swipe.
You had a serious love-hate relationship with Tinder. Every few weeks youâd go through a cycle of a few days where you swiped with abandon, started conversations with a variety of different people and enjoying most of them. But invariably, it always ended the same, with you agreeing to a date with the one you liked the most and it going horribly. Youâd swear off the app for a few weeks and then the cycle would start anew.
Clearly it had been a month since your last disaster date and it was time for you to find a new one.
You swiped left many, many times, mostly down to peopleâs bios rather than their looks, a couple of right swipes thrown in here and there but nothing spectacular.
After about five minutes, you swiped left again and found yourself on a page that brought the ghost of a smile to your lips involuntarily.
Steve Rogers. 100+.
The picture was of one Captain America, in a dark blue button up and jeans and taken in front of a gorgeous lake as he smiled.
It was clearly a catfish because thereâs no way that the actual Steve Rogers would have tinder of all things, you expected he was probably more of a match.com kind of guy if anything. However, the bio was interesting and even concluded with a little Americaâs Sweetheart joke and you couldnât help yourself. You swiped right.
Y/N: I know thereâs an age difference here but I think we could make it work.
You decided youâd probably found the best you were going to find today and clicked your phone off, stuffing it into your back pocket and tidying up your table in preparation to leave.
You couldnât wait to get home and put some fluffy socks on. Couldnât. Wait.
---
It was just a regular day, or so it seemed. Steve was sat on his balcony at the tower, which heâd covered in plants and climbers just to ensure he had a little more privacy. The small window in the middle of these invasive plants offered him a beautiful view that he sketched from time to time. A chance to measure his progress, and mark his ever changing style.
Bucky was sat beside him, scrolling mindlessly through his phone and occasionally glancing over to Steveâs paper with a smug smile. Steve had asked to draw Bucky for a bit of a change and a bit of a challenge, but heâd politely declined and said that he didnât need anyone staring at him intently as he went about his business. Steve certainly understood that.
âWanna go for dinner later? Nat suggested this new place downtown, I donât remember the name. Just the four of us, yâknow, with Sam?â
Steve looked up from his work and smiled at his friend warmly.
âIâd like that Buck. 7pm?â
âSeven it is. I really want to eat a good-â
Bucky was cut off but a buzz from Steveâs phone, a familiar buzz that had both pairs of ears pricking up. Steve fumbled in his pocket to pull it out and check it.
Y/N Y/L/N. 30.
He read your message and Bucky saw his eyes light up and the corners of his mouth perk up just the slightest. His grin was huge.
âFound yâself a pretty dame, Stevie?â Bucky teased, drawling the words in a tone that had Steve rolling his eyes.
âItâs the first match Iâve had in ages. Donât know why you even set this up for me.â
âItâs only âcause people think itâs not really you. You need to get yourself out there and Sam and I canât trust you to do that yourself,â Bucky explained and Steveâs brow furrowed.
âWhy would they think it wasnât me? Who else would I be?â
âThink about it Rogers,â Bucky said, almost but not quite exasperated, âYouâre the Captain America. Thatâs a pretty good way to get matches. I bet thereâs hundreds of Caps on there.â
A quick and frantic search from Steve had him finding, much to his horror, the hundreds of Caps that Bucky had described, each one with different photos of him and different bios, mostly consisting of things he would never write under any circumstances. A few even made him choke back a gag. He looked back at his friend with a horrified gape.
âThis is theft!â
âNot much you can do about it,â Bucky shrugged, âIâm surprised someoneâs actually messaged you. She must either be really gullible or really desperate.â
Steve glowered at him.
âJames,â he warned, âThatâs an insult to her and to me.â
âOh, you knew what I meant, just show me what she said.â
Y/N: I know thereâs an age difference here but I think we could make it work.
Bucky stood up and crouched beside Steve to read the message and then turned his head to Steve, eyebrows raised with a smug grin adorning his face. Steveâs brow furrowed.
âWhat?â
âShe doesnât sound gullible,â he said, an amusement in his tone that Steve couldnât place, âOr desperate.â
â...your point?â
âMessage her back, dipshit!â
Steve elbowed Bucky away from him and he stumbled back into his own chair with an over dramatic thud. He quickly started typing though, and Buckyâs grin only grew wider than before.
Steve: 70 years is nothing. The real problem here is that youâre way out of my league.
He briefly considered showing his response to Bucky before he sent it, but he was unwilling to have him change it and then it be sent without being fully his so he hit send and then held it out for Bucky to see. He nodded slowly, eyes alight with a shine of their own.
âYouâve got more game at 100 years old than you ever did at 20.â
A pause.
âShut up Buck.â
---
Y/N: Morning sunshine. Any plans for the day?
Steve: Iâve got a super top secret âhush hushâ mission but other than that, not really. You?
Y/N: Ah right, of course. A mission. ;)
Steve: Still donât believe Iâm Steve Rogers, huh?
Y/N: Nope. But Iâm talking to you anyway, so I think you should be flattered.
Steve: If you say so, sweetheart.
You looked up from your phone to make sure that none of your colleagues were watching you with a silly grin on your face, the slightly flustered look in your eye. Just one text with the word sweetheart in it from your current tinder crush âSteveâ had you an absolute mess, whether that be at work, at home or out with your friends. So far, youâd been caught grinning twice and full on laughing out loud once. That was a low point.
Y/N: I do say so. And Iâve got the day off, so I might have a dateâŠ
Y/N: ...with Netflix.
Steve: Iâd be lying if I said you didnât scare me for a minute there.
Y/N: And Iâd be lying if I said I didnât want to scare you for a minute there.
Steve: If youâve got the day off and my super top secret hush hush mission should be wrapped up early afternoon, why donât we actually meet up today?
If it was possible, your heart completely stopped. Your eyes went wide as you read and re-read the message on your screen, making sure you hadnât seen it wrong, hadnât made up what was happening. You were worried. Three weeks of talking to this guy practically all day, every day and you were already slightly smitten. But at the same time, you were 95% sure you were being catfished. If you agreed to this, you probably werenât agreeing to meet Captain America, but instead some random man who was pretending to be him, and doing a damn good job at it too.
But he was sweet. Kind. Funny. You felt there could be something there, if it was given time.
Steve: Didnât mean to scare you off, donât worry, it was just a suggestion.
âDid you just double text? God, Steve, I have told you before, quite a number of times, that you donât double text.â
âShe wasnât replying Nat, what was I supposed to do.â
Nat fixed him with a glare.
âOh I donât know, have some fucking patience?â
He rolled his eyes and left the room, flipping her off behind his back as he did and she chuckled sardonically at his retreating form. Men.
Y/N: Didnât scare me off. I was just double checking my calendar. Where should we meet?
Where should we meet? Where should we meet? Where should we meet?
The words played over and over in your mind as you read them back to yourself. You were really doing this. Going with your gut wasnât exactly a common occurrence for you, but then again, your love life hadnât been that great. Maybe it was time to change things up.
Steve: Wherever you want. Ladies choice.
Y/N: I know a place that does great burgers.
Steve practically punched the air, and considered himself very lucky that heâd gotten away from Nat when he did. He wouldâve really been in for some teasing otherwise.
Steve: Sounds perfect. :)
You quickly sent over the details and agreed to meet there at seven, effectively cutting the conversation short before you lost your cool at work. 7pm. Youâd be meeting your mystery man. You quickly fiddled with your phone, making a decision.
You needed to call in a favour.
â-
Now, at 6:55pm exactly you stepped out of your car and walked into the restaurant, trying to ignore the way you felt you teetered in your heels and the irrational urge to pull your skirt down. It was unnecessary, as youâd chosen a just-above-the-knee red skater skirt with a white off the shoulder top for the occasion. Not too much, not too little. At least you hoped so.
Walking up the stairs inside to the actual restaurant area, you mused that at least you felt vaguely comfortable. This was one of your go-to spots with friends and dates alike, with its range of burgers, beef, chicken and non-meat that seemed to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters. One waitress skimming past gave you a bright smile, one that you returned as best you could, and even that was enough to bolster your confidence a little more.
One waiter saw you hanging around the door and came up to you, the smile on his face just a little too manic for your liking. In fact, looking around, everyone seemed a little...giddy.
âHi, can I help you?â he asked, almost excitedly and you smiled kindly, if a little worriedly.
âIâm here for a date, he booked the table soâŠâ you paused, unsure whether to say this but going for it anyway, âIt might be under the name Rogers?â
The man gasped. Audibly. Incredibly loudly, in fact, to the point where other people eating in the vicinity looked up at you and you felt yourself getting more and more anxious, dropping your gaze to the ground. The moment you heard the giggles and whispers around you, though, your head snapped up again and your brow furrowed.
What the everloving fuck was going on here?
The man seemed to collect himself with a stern cough and a deep breath.
âRight this way, madam,â he said, in a far more deliberate voice than previously and your mind was going a mile a minute. You followed him through the restaurant, taking a right and then a left and then one final right beforeâŠ
You were lead outside onto the terrace that nobody was ever allowed to eat on, the one reserved for VIPs and ridiculously rich people and there, through the double doors, sat a man who quickly stood up as soon as he saw you and in doing so, knocked his chair over.
You bit your lip to stop your giggles as he mumbled apologies and leaned down to pick the chair up. Huge biceps, broad shoulders and an incredible a-
He turned around.
âHoly shit!â
The expression was an involuntary one and you clapped your hand over your mouth in utter shock as you stared at the Captain America, who was looking equal parts embarrassed and smug. Capt- Steve, rather, asked the waiter to give you a few minutes and though he looked reluctant, he hastily left the balcony area. Just the two of you.
âSorry about the balcony,â Steve said after a few moments of silence that you couldnât fill, âI tried to stop them but they insisted.â
He still looked kind of embarrassed by this and you decided then and there that whatever strange awe you were in had to stop, for his sake rather than yours. The way in which he spoke was so familiar due to his texts, anyway, and it gave you a much needed reminder that this was the man you were developing a crush on.
âProbably for the best,â you said, taking your hand away from your mouth and smoothing out your skirt just to give it something to do, âThereâs a lot of whispering going on in there.â
Steve winced and you realised that probably wasnât the right thing to say but before you could apologise and change your story, he made the few steps over to you and the words died in your throat.
âYou look-â he trailed off as he looked you up and down and you actually shivered, â-even more beautiful in person.â
His words sounded genuine even if you were in a perpetual state of disbelief that this was really happening. You spoke before you thought.
âAnd youâre actually Captain freaking America so this is going well so far.â
He laughed then, a freeing and somewhat gorgeous sound that didnât look quite right coming from the lips of a man you had seen in such a serious light so many times on the TV or in the news. You quite liked it.
He moved over to pull your chair or for you and finally you moved, thanking him softly as you let him tuck you into the table. Once he had taken his own seat on the other side, he spoke up.
âSo,â he began, and already there was a teasing note in his voice that had you smiling, âYou agreed to come out on a date with me even though you were that sure I wasnât who I said I was.â
You bummed thoughtfully, beginning to see where he was going and your lips parted, smile morphing into a grin.
âI did.â
âWell, it begs the question: why?â
You sat further back in your chair and pondered how to answer it. But truly, the only way you could answer was honestly.
âBecause I liked you, whoever you were. You were sweet and funny. We had a lot in common. I had to find out whether this could beâŠâ
You trailed off, unsure of how to finish but by the look shining in Steveâs eyes, you decided that maybe youâd said the right thing after all.
âNice,â he said, sincerely though, not just as a throwaway comment, âAlthough this wonât be anything if these burgers arenât good.â
And just like that, you were out to dinner with Steve and not Captain America.
And, as it turns out, you liked Steve an awful lot more anyway.

Nicolazzo - Wikipedia Rewrite for Overpopulation Page
Edits are in bold. The original page can be accessed here.Â
Current population dynamics, and cause for concern
Further information: Population dynamics
As of December 8, 2020, the world's human population is estimated to be 7.836 billion.[10] Or, 7,622,106,064 on 14 May 2018 and the United States Census Bureau calculates 7,472,985,269 for that same date[11] and over 7 billion by the United Nations.[12][13][14] Depending on which estimate is used, human overpopulation may have already occurred.[citation needed]
Nevertheless, the rapid recent increase in human population has worried some people. The population is expected to reach between 8 and 10.5 billion between the years 2040[15][16] and 2050.[17] In 2017, the United Nations increased the medium variant projections[18] to 9.8 billion for 2050 and 11.2 billion for 2100.[19]
As pointed out by Hans Rosling, the critical factor is that the population is not "just growing," but that the growth ratio reached its peak and the total population is now growing much slower.[20] The UN population forecast of 2017 was predicting "near end of high fertility" globally and anticipating that by 2030 over â
of the world population will be living in countries with fertility below the replacement level[21] and for total world population to stabilize between 10 and 12 billion people by the year 2100.[22]
The rapid increase in world population over the past three centuries has raised concerns among some people that the planet may not be able to sustain the future or even present number of its inhabitants. The InterAcademy Panel Statement on Population Growth, circa 1994, stated that many environmental problems, such as rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide, global warming, and pollution, are aggravated by the population expansion.[23]
Other problems associated with overpopulation include the It has been theorized that continued global population growth would lead to increased demand for resources (such as freshwater and food), starvation, malnutrition, consumption of natural resources (such as fossil fuels) faster than the rate of regeneration, and a deterioration in living conditions.[24] However, there is evidence to suggest that alleviating the effects of these crises (which already exist without Earthâs population passing any sort of âoverpopulationâ threshold) lie outside of population control, but rather, in an equal redistribution of resources from corporations and wealthy individuals (those in âthe 1%â) to populations currently affected by these issues. Certain critiques of economic structures such as Capitalism suggest that the encouragement of endless growth for the economy is more damaging for the future of natural resources than individual impact, and therefore efforts do not need to be centralized around population. Moreover, there are certain ethical issues around the concept of overpopulation - mainly, which populations are being controlled, and who makes these decisions. While fears of overpopulation are not the outright cause of atrocities such as forced sterilization or eugenics (enacted against communities of color as opposed to white communities), the concept could easily be appropriated as a justification for the eradication of non-white populations, so an oppressor would not have to reveal their true intentions behind population control (or other policies such as immigration control).Â
Wealthy but densely populated territories like Britain rely on food imports from overseas.[25] This was severely felt during the World Wars when, despite food efficiency initiatives like "dig for victory" and food rationing, Britain needed to fight to secure import routes. However, many believe that waste and over-consumption, especially by wealthy nations, is putting more strain on the environment than overpopulation itself.[26] This relates back to the prior argument, suggesting that the idea of overpopulation incorrectly shifts the blame of climate change to individuals rather than the social systems in place globally. Focusing on the concept of carbon emissions alone, the sheer output of multiple corporations would far outweigh the impact of most human populations. Again, the impact the 1% has on carbon emissions is simply further argument for the redistribution of resources, rather than the focus on reducing oneâs own âcarbon footprintâ.Â

Essay and Sources:
For this Wikipedia editing assignment, I decided to edit the Wikipedia page for âHuman Overpopulationâ, or the concept that the world will eventually no longer be able to sustain human life due to extreme population growth. I approached the subject from the angle of recognizing that humans are depleting natural resources at an alarming rate, while also acknowledging the fact that a specific number of humans are contributing to the depletion of these resources, making the issue of population size less relevant. Therefore, while reading this article, I quickly realized the pervasive viewpoint suggested that individual humans are largely to blame for issues such as climate change as opposed to the output that corporations produce or the lifestyles of the 1%, and that a smaller population size is absolutely necessary for the survival of the human race. Arguments similar to the one I discussed were confined to one or two sentence afterthoughts, with no section for the various questions surrounding topics such as âWho exactly is controlling population growth, and why? Would it be possible or ethical to regulate this (outside of reproductive rights and family planning, which is both ethical and necessary)?â I do not believe this exclusion was a case of explicit bias and deliberately withholding information, but this lack of information instead displayed implicit bias and a lack of foresight.Â
Since the article was extensive, I focused on revising a subsection titled âCurrent Population Dynamics, and Cause for Concernâ. I altered the first sentence of a paragraph to reflect the fact that the term âoverpopulationâ itself has a vague definition, and added more information to this paragraph to express the opposing viewpoint more clearly. I summarized the various sources I read and included the relevant articles in links throughout the paragraph. The second paragraph is mostly a continuation of the arguments presented in the first, using one of the only examples of a differing viewpoint in the article as a starting point. This paragraph also had more of a focus on environmental issues in general, while the first paragraph addressed a variety of other topics.Â
Most of the articles I researched addressed similar topics and expressed discontent with the popular narrative surrounding overpopulation. The articles written by Lyman Stone, Heather Alberro, and Peter Wells and Anne Touboulic focus on the economic argument, tackling the issues of natural resources and supply and demand. As previously mentioned, those who are concerned about overpopulation will cite the impact humans are having on the environment as an example that the human race is living beyond its means. In fact, a small population of humans are living beyond these means, and manufacturing products that simultaneously use up and pollute the earthâs resources. Alberro, in the article âDebunking âOverpopulationââ, cites the statistic âThe consumption of the worldâs wealthiest 10 percent produces up to 50 percent of the planetâs consumption-based COâ emissions, while the poorest half of humanity contributes only 10 percentâ (Alberro). This shifts the blame back from the individual consumer to the capitalist system which produces more than it needs, then hordes the surplus and says the population needs to decrease for everyone to get their share. The article by Erle C. Ellis takes a more personalized approach to the subject, citing first hand conversations with colleagues about overpopulation and the misconceptions around the subject.Â
There is one article, written by Robert Fletcher, which not only addresses the economic arguments surrounding overpopulation, but also has a detailed explanation of the link between eugenics, race, and the idea of overpopulation. The article âBarbarian Hordes: the Overpopulation Scapegoat in International Development Discourseâ discusses how the idea of overpopulation can be used as a justification for atrocities such as eugenics or forced sterilization: ...the stateâs concern with nurturing life applied primarily to its own population, conceived as an organism in competition with other national populations for limited resources and living spaceâŠâ (Alberro). The fear of overpopulation is not an excuse for these actions that oppressors use against an oppressed group (generally white against communities of color). It is important to challenge the narratives surrounding overpopulation to ensure oppressors are not able to hide behind this idea.Â
In short, I did not think the wording of the Wikipedia article outwardly displayed a bias. However, the glaring lack of a counterargument was an example of implicit bias. The fact that overpopulation is being used to blame issues such as food scarcity on individuals instead of corporations needs to be addressed. Also, the usage of the concept of overpopulation could encourage oppressors to attempt to disguise eugenics as an attempt to solve the aforementioned issues of climate change, food scarcity, and others. If these changes were to be implemented, I would hope that this perspective allows readers to think critically about the concept of overpopulation.Â
