Drew a bunch of Marinettes in a bunch of different artists styles it was a lot of fun!!

#my art #marinette dupain cheng #miraculous ladybug #miraculous fanart #style mimic #sorry for the @s btw #yall should go follow those artists if you dont already also #this was sort of inspired by a post the three artists on the top row made #i think they all got together and drew with one another #which is really cool #but i was genuinely confused because i mimic styles a lot #and ive seen others do it too so i was just like #wow they really know each others styles really well #until i thought about it and read their posts some more #style mimicking is really freaking fun and i think its really good practice #and a good way to explore other ways of doing things #like you really have to learn new techniques and get out of your comfort zone #also anna scribbles i could not find a recent pic of marinette in her main outfit #so thats the only marinette i drew in different clothes cuz i couldnt find a more recent ref of you drawing it #anna scribble marinette has privileges thats the others dont #but ye #i also threw my own style in there as a frame of reference to what me draw like #ive drawn marinette before just not in a loooong while #sabertooth walrus was the hardest for me to mimic cuz they have a broad range in their style #so its like which sabertooth do i wanna be in this pic #Buggachat has such a distinct style thats very clean and consistent which is amazing so they were easy #being easy or hard arent bad things either it also has to do with like styles meeting up with one another #buggachats and mine arent too too different in some shapes and aspects #so yeah itd be easier plus they drew marinette like 3 sec ago so i have more recent of a ref #as opposed to sabertooth who i have a recent ref of ladybug but not marinette so we got two diff styles in one

Ocs/Descarn x Hollow Knight for the spooky season :D!!

#i finally did something for halloween season yay #anyways heres descarn characters as hollow knight characters #clem being hornet and elwit being ghosty was obvious for me at the get go #i actually drew them last year with the costumes haha #Renwick being Tiso is purely because I thought it would be funny to put him in a silly costume #not necessarily it fitting character wise haha #and Mato? having a stressful time at work but i think it's very important to point out the other day i was asking a guy for help and he's like aight gotcha and then we go to this freezer room and he, from somewhere beyond a mound of boxes, just goes "you like anime right?"

sir this is the FIRST TIME we have spoken how did you clock that.

(he claims i had the vibes of someone who liked it then i was like oh like the woman in the deli wearing a jujutsu- and before i can finish the series name he says "no not her, she just liked the shirt. she's never watched anime". . . oh. i see. you have already had this debate with her then. okay.)

EDIT UPDATE:

So I got clocked AGAIN as a weeb by a coworker because I saw part of her outfit and was like "oh, Attack on Titan?" and while I then said I've never watched it she said that's fair then "do you know anything about vtubers?" and I just. Are you kidding me. I mean yeah but like. Why is your safe question with me "do you know about vtubers".

#moe talks a lot #not art #also im trying to swap from pick up to stocking and specifically dairy stocking #bc they seem to always have the hardest time keeping things stocked #and all of pick up has to stop them from working to ask for things in the back which keeps things from getting stocked #and this one guy made a terrible mistake of telling me #yeah we're like the unwanted ginger stepkids of the grocery store #because my brain immediately went NO IM ADOPTING THE DAIRY DEPARTMENT AS MY BELOVED GINGER KIDS #i told my mom that comment and she immediately laughed and said welp thats your department now #before i could even tell her i mentally adopted them #anyway gotta get to bed soon bc i do actually think i was a bit sick ? im so tired despite napping earlier #and only working a partial shift (five hours instead of eight)#sooooo gotta get rested up for the next three (or more!) days #since ive been cursed with no social life and will always work saturday and sunday #so even though my current schedule ends saturday and the next week schedule will be released At Some Point for sunday onward #i have yet to have a sunday off so i am most likely working sunday again #like the job itself is rough and i dont think the pick up workers like me much but every other department seems v nice and chill #i will continue to write essays in the tags no one can stop me

Do you sell your pottery anywhere?

Just through the shop of the community arts center I make/work/teach at! Right now it looks like my tumblers and a mug are still there, but I'm not completely sure since the website has been wonky lately. I guess?? They ship? I've only ever bought items in person from there, but you could ask if you're interested!

#ask me stuff!#pottery #sorry that's the only place #i dont have the space or the bandwidth or resources to run an etsy or anything #but thats more than i used to do lol #besides for friends and family #but yeah its a 60 40 split in profit where i get 60%#and honestly i am 10000% cool with yall getting my pots from sawtooth bc that helps support the arts center #i need to make some more things for them #im also thinking of submitting to their holiday sale at the end of the year but we'll see how much brain space i have #the hardest part is actually saving pots to sell bc i give so many away lmao #and with this last soda kiln in march i'll be giving a lot away and a lot to the studio's seconds sale #bc they arent BAD pots but they arent good enough #too many errors #too many nasty wadding stickages making ugly bottoms #but they can still be nice functional pots for someone who doesnt care about that #i do unfortunately have a box of pots that are lost basically #too much silicon carbide drippings on them #i'll break those and repurpose the pieces for drainage in my potted plants #but also selling through the center makes my taxes A LOT EASIER LMAO #bc i get a form directly from them

smthn abt the combo of ai and mobile ad spam creating this rise in cheap games designed solely to be products and often scams has like. fundamentally changed the way we look at video games now. for the better, actually, even though we think that shit should be denormalized as soon as possible for the future of the game industry. because before those things felt like such overwhelming parts of our life as someone interested in game dev it was veryyyy easy to look at a super buggy game with poorly made assets and laugh at it like lmfao bro thought this was worth uploading.... now the same exact types of games when we see people piling on them we just feel such an overwhelming sense of But they made something because they had a vision and even though they're an amateur they didn't shy away from sharing their work with the world and that's an amazing thing and we hope they continue to make the games they want to make....

and the people that complain on yt about someone's work they spent hours upon hours upon hours of so much frustration and pain working on and completing costing five dollars.... brother you are making money picking low hanging fruit and recording yourself playing a video game and the money you get from this is deserved. but the creator of the game you're making fun of for profit.... does not deserve profit for their work?

small game devs deserve money and they deserve to be celebrated also

#game dev is one of the hardest things and we feel like people underestimate it so much!!! esp if youre a solo dev which a lot of the people #making these 'trash games' are #you need to know how to make art you need to know complex programming music sound design ui design game design #physics marketing writing modeling etc etc etc #not only does it take time to build those skills but it takes time and a lot of trial and error to put them all together #obviously a solo dev's first original project is not gonna be the next call of duty #also if someone is honest about the contents of their game then however they price it is not a scam!#scams are deceptive but if you know what youre getting into then you consent to the price tag #this applies to a million things other than game dev too like most forms of art we see....#if they disagree with your pricing then its apparently a scam even though you know what youre buying and not being forced to in any way #maybe the reason why so few people have this sort of perspective is because they inherently see #all video games as solely products and nothing else. not art #surely there are video games that are just products. see all those mobile games pushed for quick money #but thats not what video games Are
