Yep. He is. He is a lot of things actually. The more you learn about him the more fucked up it gets
#at first I was like#ah yes another crazy helicopter#but then I learned the lore haha#hoo boy#the guy was a criminal and was so good at it#the government had to take his spark out of his body and put it in a freezer so he won't break the law anymore#then Starscream took him out and was like#you and your bros are my minions now#btw I made you unable to recharge on your own so uou are basically my hostages#work for me or starve to death losers#and then also Megatron with his Javascript exercises#Seriously. WAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH I HAD JUST PLAYED THE NEW UPDATE AND THE BAD ENDING KILLED ME. I WANT TO PUNCH A HOLE THROUGH MY COMPUTER BUT I CAN'T BECAUSE IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE 😭 I'LL NEVER LOOK AT AXES AND CROWE THE SAME EVER AGAIN
sorry for being overdramatic that ending really hurt me and i love crowe 😢
can you write crowe and reader's date after they got together in day 1? let's say Sol didn't find out when crowe and reader kissed so crowe gets to live (not for long tho)
i just wanted a peaceful love life with Jericho Ichabod 😭
CROWE X GN READER
spoilers for the update (bad ending)
a/n: an au where mc remembers all the saves they've done and knowing that they'll never be able to reciprocate crowe's feelings without putting him in danger would make pretty good angst ngl.
cw: slight angst (I'm sorry I couldn't help it). overall very fluffy. i think. reader is lowkey a simp.
bonus fanart at the end!
---------
He's so pretty it hurts. Pretty like the way his braided hair fell gracefully on his shoulders. Pretty like the ethereal glow that kissed his tan skin in the afternoon sun. Pretty, like his sapphire irises that gazed at you with such fondness that it made your heart ache.
Fuck. He's so beautiful and you're sure he's aware of it.
"(Name)? Are you okay?" He asks as if you'll ever be okay when he looks at you like that.
After that night— that one special night that might as well be one of your core memories. It was your first kiss. With Crowe. The guy you thought would never reciprocate your feelings. The man who liked you longer than you did.
Crowe.
And now, it's just you two in your comfort spot. The school garden. After that night he invited you here. For what? A date? Gee, is he trying to kill you or something?
It was already difficult enough to face him after.. well, the kiss. Now he decided to invite you to somewhere private. Just the two of you. Crowe and I.
It's weird thinking like that. It feels weird to put your name beside Crowe, even if you've discreetly written your name next to him with a heart multiple times on your notebook.
And yet you still called yourself a mere 'admirer'. How naive could you get?
Ah, well, it doesn't matter now. You sat next to him on the ground with your heart threatening to burst out of your chest, and you're stiffer than a damn wall.
Don't look at me like that. You think. Don't you dare give me that look. That concerned, caring face he always gave you when you're feeling incredibly warm and your heart is seconds away from going into cardiac arrest. Can you stop being so handsome?
"(Name)," Crowe repeats, bringing you back to reality. "Are you okay?"
You take a deep breath. Maybe you're being too dramatic, acting like a teenage girl with her first crush. Or maybe Crowe just has that effect on you. Can you really blame yourself? He's like a prince for fuck's sake. "Yeah. Don't worry."
His brows furrowed, unconvinced. "Loosen up a little, won't you? You act like we're strangers." His tone takes on a more playful one, hoping to lighten the mood. "We've known each other for a year.. yet you're still so nervous around me." He grinned. His hand reaches out to brush a stray hair away from your face, the warmth from his touch lingering. What a tease.
"Not my fault you're so handsome.." You crossed your arms with a huff. "Seriously. If being pretty was illegal you'd be a criminal." You weren't even aware of what you're saying at this point. You've gotten so comfortable with Crowe that you simply didn't care what you say in front of him.
He blinks, staring at you as you continued to mumble under your breath. Cute. He thinks. You're way too cute sometimes.
He leaned in closer, a teasing grin on his face. "You think I'm that pretty?"
You stop mumbling, turning to face him only to be jumpscared because of how close he was. "What the- Of course I do!" You lean away from him, cheeks warm. "And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who thinks that way. Aren't you aware of the letters you received on Valentine's day?"
He smiled at this, backing away to give you space. "Of course I was." He paused, studying your figure with a warm gaze. "But you know I only had eyes for you on that day."
Your chest tingled, remembering the chocolate you gifted to him. You didn't expect he'd have a gift of his own for you too. Back then, you always thought he'd forget about you one day.
He never did.
"Corny." Yet you couldn't help the smile that crept to your lips, contrasting your words. He let out a chuckle at that to which you responded with a light punch to his shoulder.
A long silence settled comfortably between you two for a while. Simply basking in each other's presence, taking in the peaceful scenery with him. Despite the silence, it was enough for you. Being with him was enough.
And you couldn't help but voice it out loud. "I'm so glad to be with you."
He's caught off guard by that, but quickly regains his composure as he intertwined your fingers together with the softest smile you've ever seen.
"Me too."
Heavens, you love him. So damn much.
So please let this moment last forever.

so many people miss the point of what jason was doing when he made himself the red hood. the red hood is A Bad Guy, not A Hero (NOT a Bat). this means he's not following vigilante justice rules, which allows him to do what he wants to do.
ironically this is best illustrated, imo, in a story where the opposite happens; where being A Bad Guy bars him from taking action. in "outsiders: pay as you go" (vol. 3. #44-46 + annual #1), jefferson pierce is in jail, having turned himself in after being tricked into thinking he'd committed murder. jason finds out about it by spying on deathstroke, and he goes with this information to dick and his team (which includes anissa pierce), and later also warns them about a hit being put on jefferson.
I once saw a post that interpreted these actions as jason seeking help for a jailbreak he couldn't pull off on his own. ridiculous lol, especially as this is written by winick, who loves his hyper-competent jason (he's the one who made him that way, after all). jason doesn't even participate in the jailbreak, because the red hood is A Bad Guy. as he himself says, jefferson is a hero, one of The Good Guys, made to second-guess himself and take himself off the board.
the way to restore him to heroism is NOT by having a notorious criminal break him out of prison. what would that accomplish, even if jefferson himself allowed it? (he would not. hell, his instinct is to distrust the information because of who it comes from lol). it would not prove his innocence, and in fact it'd probably make things worse for him.
so instead jason goes to The Heroes (to dick, in particular; anissa's presence could've been a consideration, maybe as a fellow child-of-a-felon, but it was dick, and dick's values, that he was trusting here). he gives them the information and the means necessary to help and save jefferson, but he doesn't publicly intervene himself. because he's A Bad Guy, and they don't go to the rescue.

I think a good historical example to analyze would be the Finders / Marion Pettie.
You have all sorts of anecdotal and circumstantial evidence that there's this group who worked with the cia and trained up these guys and they send their members have 20 false identities etc etc. They would go to japan on a two hours notice to collect information about companies there or whatever. Police would interact but then let them go. That sort of thing.
But when you take a look, it turns out that the thing they were teaching was computer use because this was the 70s and 80s. The police stopped them and let them go because they were behaving abnormally but not criminally.
The internal dynamics of the group revealed a culture which justified putting people into strange situations in order to like, reveal their true self or something along those lines. And the mystique and intrigue of the intelligence world made that all the more appealing.
You can't actually trace any apparent effects to their "operations" ( well, aside from the child abuse ) because they weren't specifically up to anything besides being a weird cult. They were called games specifically because they were play acting.
But if you take a look at something like the tenet media controversy, say with Tim Pool, you can pretty well analyze the operation here. Russia wants to propagandize, they pay for famous people with sympathetic politics, then they have plausible deniability about knowing it was from a foreign nation.
But what exactly would the extreme travel youtubers be doing? I can see a country using them for tourism points, but that's not exactly an intelligence operation. If a foreign country wanted a spy inside, they'd want someone who was local to the area so they wouldn't arise suspicion, could speak the local language, and stay there for a while
If you wanted to use them to like, publicly post video of some trespassing in an important facility, they'd probably have to have experience overnighting or doing such stuff. Which is a red flag at the border and surrounding area. If anything, publicly getting away with crime means the law system is going to want to make an example of them. South Korea is threatening 10 years to such a creator whose name escapes me.
If they were getting invited into strangers homes and chatting up locals, then I don't think you're going to get state secrets. And what is gleaned from that isn't going to need much interaction since its publicly posted.
The closest you may see is an agent paying for their patreon because I'm having trouble seeing the utility.
You think anyone is cultivating "extreme travel" youtubers as espionage assets? It's a great cover identity. "I'm not a western spy mister kgb officer I'm just a terminally stupid online microcelebrity who will do anything for the views :3"

Maeve’s storyline but right!
I have always though the Maeve plot line didn’t made sense and recently I read a fic (spencer reid x reader) where reader was a serial killer of serial rword and I thought how much better that could’ve been.
Maeve’s plot line was weak in many ways. My biggest pet peeve is that it was that aggressive from the start and Spencer did nothing, which I don’t find in character. That meaning her stalker (Diane).
Let’s assume his first consult with Maeve was pretty normal, how could he imagine she had a stalker? But in order to keep talking to her they went through using letters first. And maybe Spencer thought it was romantic and interesting, but pseudonyms? That’s a bit much.
Spencer knew all along about her stalker, he tells Hotch that much after she goes missing. So you are telling me Spencer found out this girl he likes isn’t leaving her house, she is hot using her phone and is using letters to communicate with pseudonyms to protect herself and didn’t do something? I agree he might’ve been respecting her wishes, but by this time Spencer has been working with the FBI 9 years, he is not naive as he was, he is a social protector, it just doesn’t makes sense he let it go that far.
Again, from the beginning is crucial here because I don’t think he would’ve let it slide just like that. If it had grown progressively while they were together, yes maybe their attachment would’ve clouded his reasoning, but by the time they started talking Diane had made Maeve quit her job and broke up with her fiancé so??? It just doesn’t make sense for HIS character. I believe that at leasttt he would’ve investigated by himself.
But non of that happened so the plot just doesn’t cut it. Instead, if it would’ve been a serial killer? That’s interesting.
Point 1. A serial killer who kills men that are serial rapist is in many ways human. It’s imposible to not like as audience. And Spencer is often the one who empathizes with the criminals (lol beautiful baby 🥺).
Point 2. Her story could’ve been a great episode, we could’ve seen how smart she was (something from Meave’s character) but at the same time how traumatized she was, her story, how evil are the men she kills. She could’ve been the same age as Spence, he could’ve done the interview, connect, blah, blah, blah.
Point 3. I think they could’ve find a way were they didn’t have anything to really hold the case, victims (of the men) not pressing charges and friends who offer alibis for her. So she makes a deal with Spencer because she is also tired and she knows she cannot stop. A letter once a month because she likes his big brain.
Point 4. She is arrested but gets her letter and Spencer gets his, where she is smart and interesting and whatever. Out of nowhere they are writing themselves not just once a month. And they talk every sunday. (Again part of Maeve storyline, everything was there!!!!) (Also I think she could’ve been an assistant for a geneticist and help him with his migraines)
Point 5. And everything is good and they form a bond but Spencer would never admit he likes her and maybe even feels something more, because he is a good guy. But in this time he starts to read every philosopher that has written about good and bad (also talk it with Blake!! best part of the Maeve plot).
Point 6. After this we are only missing her dying and I wish I remember the name of the fic but something similar could happen. In the fic she scapes prison with help and goes to find Spencer because she knows of a human trafficking organization and she wants to liberate them, so she kinda kidnaps Spencer and they go there. Because she wanted to do it, deep down Spencer knows this a suicidal mission for her.
Point 7. They get there, she gets kill by local police but she saves women and children and got to spend her last day or two with Spencer, the only person that made her wished everything she did never happened and maybe she could’ve have a great life.
And ta-da! we traumatized Spencer with an interesting plot that makes sense (at least for me). And far more complex I think, something that maybe even MGG would’ve like. But who knows, is this against copaganda???

Mike shrugged, wearing a smug grin. ‘I mean, I’ve always been told my enthusiasm is good, right? Boyscout.’ He thrust a thumb at his own chest. ‘Be prepared. But I get it. You guys take the lead.’
He turned to Gann, listening to him repeat the plan. ‘You said mingle. So I’ll mingle. I don’t want to let you down. I’m still on my probationary period, right?’
They were easier to convince than he’d expected. The boss seemed pretty lax, too. Maybe it wasn’t the club or its staff that were the problem. Maybe a regular client? Or they were just that desperate for the extra staff that they were reckless with their criminal empire.
Mike thumbed towards the door to the club’s main bar. ‘I’ll do that now. You’ll tap my shoulder if you need me?’ Mike was ready to get boots on the ground and start the real hard work: Digging for intel.
"You... practiced?" Gann asked with surprise in his voice. That was the first time ever someone had actually prepared for their show which baffled him. They weren't topnotch entertainment here. But hey, he'd take it.
"Woah, woah..." One of the guys chuckled as he shook his head. "Man, you are enthusiastic. I get it that you need the money, but leave most of it up to us for tonight, yeah." Gann nodded and stepped in, putting a hand on Mike's shoulder. "You're doing the ensemble number at the end together with us. For the rest you can sit this one out. Get familiar with it, ok?"
The first man had to go on and you could hear the cheer of the mostly female crowd. "Don't worry, I'll count you in." Gann smiled.

btw I know there's probably already propaganda out there about this, but I wanna say my 2 cents on Tim Walz and the George Floyd protests.
He really listened to the protesters and gave them time and space to exercise their rights.
When not only riots were breaking out, but also non-local fascist extremists showing up looking to add fuel to the proverbial fire, THAT'S when the National Guard was there to stop the bullshit.
I've seen people on the right criticise him for not sending in the national guard immediately (i.e. against local protesters). Now there will be psyop propaganda against him, targeting us too.
Oh, and he also pushed for police reform as well, so this isn't just grandstanding either. As a local, I think he's handled it perfectly.
and here's an article I found if you don't want to take my word for it:
#tim walz#us politics#politics#kamala harris#police reform#george floyd#Minnesota#Minneapolis#criminal justice#i hope this post doesn't explode too much because I generally don't like talking about politics#but I fucking love Tim Walz#v excited about this#I will defend him so hard#he's a good guy you know#he's strong and reasonable and no nonsense

I always feel like the worst kind of character redemptions (other than redemptions where a character immediately redeems themselves after one conversation) are ones where the villain is betrayed and so they switch sides, and it's treated like they've become a better person.
#txt#it was one of my biggest pet peeves with how catra's redemption was handled (As well as everyone being her bff lol)#kid cosmic did this too but chuck was funny so i was fine with it#i think rise of the tmnt handled this concept the best. draxum was betrayed but it didn't mean he's a good guy now#he was a wanted criminal who only accepted help from mikey because he needed a place to hide#and then they slowly bonded and he gradually reforms himself#i love shit like that

Given her brief answers to his attempts at conversation, Wade was starting to think he might really be bugging her or something. "Listen, if I'm rambling and bein' obnoxious, you can say so. Don't let me sit here and chew your ear off if it's botherin' you. Not everybody's talkative, and I get that," he said, smirking at his own chattiness. "But if you want me to keep ramblin' on about pancakes and stupid shit, I can go ahead and make that happen for you," he then added with a chuckle.
"It should be, right? It'd be useful, that's for sure," he said. This... was stupid conversation. But sometimes stupid conversations had their value as far as helping relax and calm people who were having a hard time, himself included. When she said she was unhirable, Wade made a face. "Really? I don't think so. You seem okay to me. You're just goin' through it right now... whatever it is. That's your business. But just because a person's got some problems doesn't mean they don't deserve gainful employment."
He sipped his coffee, glancing around at the other people in the diner as he spoke. "Take me, for instance. I'm not winnin' any charm awards anytime soon, and I've screwed up pretty badly in recent months, but that doesn't make me... unhirable." He smiled then. "See? It's useful, we need it. Imma call up the uh... the dictionary folks over at Websters, 'cause this word needs to be a thing, ASAP."
As she processed the rest of what he said, he nodded. "Yeah, actually. I'm licensed to bring in criminals, not to go around breakin' laws. I could get my ass arrested and tossed in jail, and that... that wouldn't be good for me." There was a pause, a sigh, and then, "I mean, jail isn't good for anyone, but uh... I've got um... How to put this..." He shrugged. "A kindof medical condition, I guess you could say, that would make prison pretty damn hard for me. It could be kindof a death sentence, actually, so... I'd like to avoid that, if possible."
Seeing her turn to look out the window, Wade did the same for a while. The wind was being truly unkind to the people outside walking in the rain. One poor man was really fighting hard to keep hold of his umbrella. "Man, that guy's havin' a time..." Wade said sympathetically. When the man's umbrella's suddenly flipped inside out, dumping a bunch of water on him and exposing him to the driving rain, Wade winced. The man shouted curses at the very weather itself. "That's a damn shame," he said, shaking his head. "Poor guy."
The soldier bunched herself up under the desk, palms pressed to her ears with enough pressure that she could hear the squeak of her joints. She was trying to block out the noise. The angry shouts as she disobeyed direct orders. When had she entered the office? One minute she'd been searching the aisles...
well,
Shallow breaths
A tap on her shoulder, sending her jolting alongside her racing heart, wide eyes searching for the source- an elderly woman with a light laugh, and an apology for startling her. She was only reaching for the milk
Bright, fluorescent lights
Constant chatter and clanging and beeping that was not, in fact, a heart rate monitor, and was instead the tills as the cashiers scanned various items
Too many options
kind of.
At some point she'd passed the bakery, and a small child in a cart had wheeled by, holding a...
And then she'd found herself in the office. The door was locked from the inside. The desk had the indent of fingers on the edge of it's surface, as though imprinted in wet cement. One of it's legs wiggled like a snake. Both still gleaned with the sweat of her hands.
The manager kept slamming on the door, shouting and raving about calling the police, and company files and trespassing. And yet she was frozen in place. - For Wade, sadiebrin
@sadiebrin
"Donuts or muffins?" Wade muttered to himself as he looked around the bakery section. His head tilted to one side, then the other. "Eh, they each have their good points..."
It was supposed to rain today. Not just rain, thunderstorm. So far, though, the sky had gone dark for a couple hours and it had gotten rather windy, but so far... no rain or thunder. Perfect weather for Wade to do a little shopping during normal human hours without fear of getting too impaired by the sun. He'd felt a mild tingling on his skin when he stepped outside, but... not too bad. And really, he just had to go from his apartment building to his SUV, and then from there into the store. He could do that standing on his head, so... time to shop.
Being a vampire sucked, pun intended. Needing blood all the time was not only unappealing to Wade, but it was massively inconvenient with his schedule and lifestyle. And he refused to give up the foods he loved, even if they did nothing for him nowadays. At least he could eat whatever he wanted without fear of getting fat or developing heart disease, since whatever made him a vampire seemed to regulate his body to keep it in tip-top shape without him having to do much of anything.
His deliberations on exactly what kind of indulgent human food to buy were interrupted by a very distressed woman staggering from near where he was toward the back of the store. Confections could wait. Wade followed her, sensing that something was very wrong. When she went inside an office and slammed the door, Wade stopped and watched as the manager began pounding on the door like a child throwing a tantrum. "Really?" Wade mumbled to himself.
Making his way to the door, Wade laid his hand on the manager's shoulder. "Take a breath, okay? I think she's havin' some kinda problem." The manager was taking too many breaths, as it were, and spouting more boisterous nonsense about how she wasn't allowed in there, and if she didn't come out right this instant he was going to called the cops!
With an irritated smirk, Wade reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. "Dude, relax, I am the cops," he said, flashing his badge just fast enough for the manager to see something that looked official but not long enough for him to actually read that it only said government licensed bounty hunter on it. It worked, and the manager took a step back from the door. Only one. Wade looked at him like, you gotta be kiddin' me with this bullshit. "Yeah, you wanna gimme some time here, man? I'll handle it, don't worry." With that, the manager huffed and left to deal with an irate woman who couldn't find the type of cheese she wanted and was making it everyone else's problem.
"Hey... miss?" he called through the door. "You okay in there? Need some help?" He was trying to get through to the woman but also sound as non-threatening as he could manage.

#alek art#td duncan#td mal#total drama#total drama all stars#(if i want to get technical)#2024#duncan is around 15 here... mal is around 16#ive thought really hard about them these past few days . in my brain they actually knew each other and canon is different#duncan and mike got along really well. in juvie mal refused to speak to anyone about anything and would fight as many people as he could .#he wanted to stay in there and far away from home . they get roomed together and duncan is the first person who mal can talk to . he isnt#scared of him . he relates to him a lot . like -> wow we both act out for attention and people think we are terrible because of it#duncan being a mentally ill teenager seeing mal an also very mentally ill teenager thought 'i can fix him' . mike and duncan speak too here#i cant really see anyone else fronting besides those two . their brain was on lockdown and mike wanted out so bad . i see manitoba as a#gatekeeper so hed handle some sessions with their psych. i want to say they (duncan and mike) get moved to a psyche ward just because#i have more knowledge on being in one and how it goes ... but yeah i like duncan mal a lot . this art isnt ship whatsoever though 🙏 i dont#see them as a couple their dynamic is just better as friends imo#but anyways in all stars they obviously recognize each other but have an unspoken agreement not to say anything abt it#duncan is a known criminal but mike isnt like that . mike hadnt even told zoey about that part of his life . so duncan wanted to respect his#privacy -> then mal starts hurting people and he has to step in . mal isnt a good person by any means but i dont think he was that bad in#juvie . so duncan had to come to terms that his friend wasnt the same person he was years ago (in all stars duncan is ~18 and i think mike#is almost 20... so it had been a while since they last talked)#them getting each other like no other and being in pain because they couldnt really speak . i see them having a conversation still in moon#madness abt their past and history . god i just think abt them and their wasted potential wdym mike and duncan were in juvie together#duncan was in for trespassing or destruction of private property or something really dumb . mal fought his parent(s) and got in for assault#mal was already in when duncan was placed . and duncan was let out early on good behavior + his parents (dad) mostly did it to teach him a#lesson . wrong of them or otherwise . so mal was just kinda stuck there until they realized he was actually not right in the head . think he#knew abt their DID but was only diagnosed in juvie and had to go from there . tbh he shouldve been tried as an adult but td logic . doesnt#matter dw guys . mike gets the 'was put on random meds that made him go braindead' treatment bc that was me . post mental hospital abilify#had me messed up

What Deku doesn't understand is that the “League of Villains” encapsulates exactly who Tenko - the Crying Child Deku was so adamant about saving - is. He thinks reaching out a hand, smashing that hatred, and saving Tenko means getting Tenko to abandon the League. He is completely wrong - and he would've realized this if he just talked to Shigaraki in all the time he fought against Shigaraki. And listened to what Tenko said in Chapter 418.
The League of Villains is the group Shigaraki Tomura created in order to wreck shit and kill All Might and bring down Hero Society. Shigaraki picked the name and picked the purpose and picked its members and he leads them towards the apocalypse—
—and this is also the group of outcasts that are his comrades and friends; that he gathered and created a place for, where they can be themselves in a society that ruthlessly denied them that. He accepted Twice without care for his insanity and inability to use his quirk, never pushed Twice to do more than he was able to. He accepted Spinner despite being a Stain fanboy and having a weak, nearly useless quirk, and promised him the destruction of the world that hurt him; for all of League. When Toga was pushed by the other members to choose a Villain name despite wanting to live as herself, as Toga Himiko, Shigaraki spoke up in indirect defense of her choice, providing himself as an example of someone who didn't use a Villain name, and who can override the boss' words? Dabi was allowed to come and go as he pleased, and although he was the most aloof member, by the end, he was declaring the world burn for "our" sake - plural; the League's. Mr. Compress believed in Shigaraki enough to entrust an ancestor's dream and family legacy to him; when surrounded by Heroes at Jaku, he was willing to die to save Shigaraki, to let him escape.
The League is a collection of people that Shigaraki cares for - that he saved. That was always the surest sign that ‘Tenko’, sweet and kind and hero-aspiring boy, was alive inside.
Without the League, without having seen the time Shigaraki spent with the League, a reader can just write off Shigaraki and say there’s nothing left in there worth saving. The League is literally the evidence for Tenko have still existed and that Shigaraki was "worth" saving, long before we ever saw ‘Inner Tenko’.
But Deku doesn't understand that.
To go further: outside of the League, Shigaraki still had his distorted but undeniable kindness and fairness. I've spoke about it before, and sorry for repeating myself, but even towards his Villain enemies, he gives them consideration: Shigaraki left Overhaul crippled, but 100 chapters later, he's still continuing Overhaul's work - the quirk erasing bullets - and even laments that Overhaul would be disappointed when Shigaraki sees some of the bullets destroyed. All For One at Jaku tries to take over his body, at the time seemingly only a phantom voice in his head, but Shigaraki still acknowledges that he's grateful AFO took him in. It's only when AFO oversteps that again and again, taking possession of his body, that Shigaraki would tear the AFO vestige from inside out and mock him when the opportunity arises.
And there's ReDestro, and the importance of the ending of MVA. RD and his army picks a fight with Shigaraki - something that Shigaraki explicitly points out; the blame for what happened to Deika is on largely them. RD challenged Shigaraki and the League; blackmailed them, kidnapped their broker, and attacked their pitiful 6-member team with a town-sized militia; insulted Shigaraki, destroyed The Hands, tried to kill him. Shigaraki had every reason to just dust RD while the man was sitting there bleeding out with his legs cut off. Just finish him off without even giving the guy last words. It was more than fair.
But Shigaraki didn't. He went and talked to RD. To mock him for picking this fight, but it was still a talk. And when RD acknowledge his defeat and kowtowed, Shigaraki let him live. Took over his army and resources, but RD was still alive and even made lieutenant.
Without this - if Shigaraki had just dusted RD after defeating him - we would have only seen Shigaraki as a conquerer and not someone who can be reasoned with. He would just be AFO with different minions. And Shigaraki wasn't.
He can be brutal, and he seems like he's destroying for evil fun; but Shigaraki has his compassion and justice. A Villainous Hero for the Villains. It's why he destroys; it's why he doesn't regret his actions, why he wishes good luck to Deku to continue it, even after Deku smashed his core of anger and hatred. Shigaraki saved his League, and he refuses to disavow doing so. Because he shouldn't.
And Deku just doesn't understand that.
#nalslastworkingbraincell#despite. the everything-ness of the last two chapters#and despite Deku being entrusted with 'that depends on you guys'#and despite Shigaraki fucking dying because the Heroes failed#I think I actually like what Shigaraki said to Deku#I feel like it fits. it makes sense for Shigaraki#the problem is that it's Deku#but yeah#the potential sarcasm of 'really. do your best'#is very Shigaraki as well#'if you want to defeat noumu you gotta get your hands dirty and tear him apart piece by piece'#cruel - egging All Might to cruelty - but a tip#'you're the great senpai of us criminal filth' to Stain#mocking but true#'you're a wakagashira so where are your manners'#also mocking but true#deku said 'you already destroyed it'#and shigaraki responds 'depends. holding you responsible for that being true. good luck.'#sincere but also sarcastic and also dragging Deku down to his level and intention of change and destruction#maybe i'm deluding myself#blinded by hope
