that being said, it was nice for the last two weeks to be a chaotic mess and for joe biden to drop out of the presidential race the same weekend i graduated so i could relive those few days of unhinged glory.

Finally, a Danmei Blog for Lesser-Known Danmei, Some of Which Are Not Even Translated Yet

Hello, hello, I’m Miya, a voracious danmei reader that gobbles novels every night like it’s her daily sustenance. I’ve been reading danmei since late 2018, and like most people in English danmei spaces, I was introduced to it through MXTX’s Mo Dao Zu Shi / Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. Since then, I’ve read many other danmei, like all the other popular ones—Little Mushroom, The Husky and His White Cat Shizun, Devil Venerable Also Wants to Know, etc.

Anyways, I have read almost all of the novels the English fandoms are currently obsessed with. Because of this, I often can’t relate to the excitement you guys still have over them because those novels feel like ages ago to me. I’ve long moved on from them and found other novels I love more. (I also read the bulk of those popular novels during my depression era, and I don’t wanna bring up memories of that)

So yeah, I sometimes feel like an outsider in English danmei spaces because nobody wants to talk about the novels I wanna talk about because nobody even knows about them 😭😭😭

Thus, this blog was born.

Mainly, I will be liveblogging the danmei I’m reading. I used to post them on my main @miyamiwu, but I’ve recently transferred my liveblogs from there to here. Just a fair warning: my liveblogs won’t be spoiler-free. I also don’t use spoiler tags because, well, nobody even knows the novels I’m blogging about so nobody would care if it’s a “spoiler” 😭😭😭

Aside from this, I will also post:

reviews of some of the great novels I come across

recommendation lists (you can also ask me for recs!)

rough English translations of the scenes I’m reacting to (otherwise, I won’t make sense)

I am studying Mandarin, but I’m nowhere near fluent in it. (I’ve also been too busy with college that my studies have been put on-hold.)

I loooove talking about the intricacies of translation and even took a class on translation theory before. You will see this reflected in some of my posts.

My favorite genres/tropes: whodunit, unlimited flow, horror, broken mirror, and 甜宠 (lit. sweet love/pampering, fluffy novels basically).

Current favorite danmei: Fourth Perspective by Mo Chen Huan

Also a fan of the 188男团 series by Shui Qian Cheng. My favorites in the series are Years of Intoxication and Blazing Armor

I feel kind of weird making this, but a couple of my posts got some decent amount of notes so I thought I'd share

It's been a while since I've stopped actively following qsmp. Months since I've liveblogged like I used to. At first I just needed a break from the community but still watched on my own time, then I got busy with work/college, and then decided to boycott in solidarity.

After Quackity's "response", I'm leaving QSMP behind for good. I had a lot of fun and genuinely loved this project, but seeing as the creator can't differentiate hate from valid criticisms and workers' rights, I'll do as he says and leave. I encourage my fellow brazilians and french mutuals to do the same. We clearly aren't welcome anyway.

A lot of ex-egg admins (including Dapper, Pomme, and Ramón) have posted statements on Twitter, I urge all those who are unaware of the situation to read them.

If you think we're just haters who want to see the project fail, please just save us both the trouble and block me.

If you're still watching something despite knowing the people who make it special are being exploited, please go fuck yourself. Your special interest is not more important than people's rights. There are ways to still consume your interest while showing support to the workers who, after Quackity's great response, are getting harassed and threatened for speaking up.

Of course!

Mick and Matt met before canon, but not in person. They met online in the gaming space. Mick played competitively. Matt didn't, he played for fun, but is ridiculously good. It drove Mick up the walls and everytime he saw Matt's username he'd go for the kill.

He was over it by college, and when he found out Matt's username he nearly died laughing.

Matt prefers older games and vintage consoles while Mick keeps up with newer games and modern consoles (along with the competitive scene).

Since I have my Mick is secretly really snarky headcanon and Matt is canonically snarky, they are both snarky and judgemental together but only Matt says anything to anyone's face.

They cosplay and attend conventions together, and they fight over who gets to dress as the female character during their couple costumes.

Cosplay is incorporated into their sex life too. This has led to many shenanigans.

They aren't switches, but they are vers.

You know they're laughing during sex.

They got together pretty quick.

It took Matt a little bit to realize he liked Mick beyond the basic admiration a junior has for their senior, but once he realized he went to confess because he was not going to be Toey.

The confession was really straight forward, like, ridiculously so. Matt confessed and Mick sat him down to talk about the expectations.

This might be controversial, but Mick didn't have (or at least didn't realize he had) feelings for Matt, but goes out with him on a date to see how it goes. When he realizes he would be okay with taking the relationship further, he asks Matt to be his official boyfriend.

The rest of the group were shocked they moved at a reasonable pace in a reasonable manner. Beer makes a joke about them never seeing a traditional relationship trajectory before.

That is kind of the running theme with their relationship which is that it is devoid of the typical romance drama boys love nonsense (affectionate). They are just two men who happened to like each other and are now dating.

Matt basically moves in with Mick after graduation, and Mick is so happy about it.

As a little side hustle, Matt paints video game landscapes and makes them into prints.

They adopt two dogs.

It is up to the person to decide whether they see them as having kids, but if they did they'd have a son and they would adopt him later in life (they're the last ones to have a kid).

Mick isn't the best cook, but he is a good baker and Matt adores the bread he bakes.

Matt retains his play dead response, and Mick finds it adorable. Early in their relationship, Matt would play possum when he got overwhelmed by their relationship, and Mick tucked his head into his side until Matt rebooted. To this day, Matt likes resting his head in Mick's lap.

They watch Esports competitions.

Mick knows more about QToey than he'd like to know because Toey calls Matt for everything and is so loud he can hear the phone call down the hall. Ironically, this has led him to walk by and drop unasked for advice constantly.

Mick soaks up the gossip like a sponge and feeds it back to Matt. Sometimes he'll even liveblog it to him.

Mick is always paying attention which is great when it comes to the romance in a romantic relationship, but it can get annoying when MickMatt have fights.

Phum may have whimpering golden retriever energy, but Mick has guilty boxer energy. Which is more devastating? Peem and Matt are arguing about it until this day.

Their snack game is the best in the group.

- Wow this prologue is so nostalgic. I swear I know it beat for beat

- There’s something so magical and beautiful about Connie’s writing style. I seriously love the prologue it’s such a great introduction to this world

- This is my first time reading a Rosewood book after my autism diagnosis and wow Lottie is so autistic actually

- Ollie’s very first line of dialogue being sarcasm. I love you Ollie

- Why is Lottie still packing the day she is leaving

Dale (Doug Dimmadome's only child) and Hadley (Ed Leadly's middle daughter) grew up attending fancy social gatherings together (both before and after Dale's disappearance). Weren't super close, but definitely knew each other.

At ages 19 and 16, their dads arranged a betrothal, extended it to each of them, and they accepted- both relieved to marry someone they knew rather than some out-of-state relative of their dads' business associates.

Dale knew Hadley's older sister (Harper) a bit better, but Harper flipped out and said no to being betrothed without love- Harper still resents Hadley for not fighting her betrothal, but Dale still considers her a friend despite the sisters' tension.

After Hadley turned 21, they were married in January 2012 (the wedding planned well in advance by their dads, of course). Hadley was halfway through her Junior year of college and Dale hard at work on his own studies.

Dev was born in spring 2014; Hadley posted a lot of mommy vlogger content in his youth before moving towards travel vlogging. These days, she's gone for long stretches of time, but returns home for most holidays (to film family vlogs).

They're not the most lovey-dovey, but a lot of their interests and personality traits overlap, and they are definitely one of the couples to ever be. Relationship highlights include:

- Hadley's hoarding OCD vs. Dale's neat and tidy OCD. - They are sickeningly cute in matching holiday pajamas. They're also young parents who don't know what they're doing. - Dale can list 100 things he likes about his wife, but he could also walk away from this relationship at the drop of a hat. oh no. - Dale takes his ring off a lot for sensory reasons and chronically fails to indicate he's married, so he keeps going on dates he thinks are business meetings. Sometimes he brings Dev, who is horrified. Half his associates think Hadley is his personal assistant. - Hadley is paranoid Dale will cheat on her, so she'll call randomly to ask if her name is still written on his chest in marker. Sometimes at 3:30 AM because she forgets to check time zones. Things are going great. - They have their ups and downs, but they'd pick each other every time. Probably. Huh... Maybe that IS love.

I enjoy them very much, actually. Shout-out to me sighing and dumping old drafts of Adult Dale being super nervous and shy off to the side because now I have no choice but to play him as a horrible man, sdflkj. Deep down, he's still the awkward, jumpy person I always planned to write him as... he's just actively awful too <3

Okay pardon me for getting sappy and emotional today, but it's end of the year so I feel like this is my right.

When I started watching qsmp I did not really plan on participating heavily on the community, mostly just watching and maybe telling some stuff to my irl friends, mostly cause I wasn't expecting it to turn into a whole hyperfixation like it is nowadays, but well the server immediately got it's claws on me. But still, I didn't have plans of heavily participating with writing, art or anything.

That changed pretty quickly once I started to look at the qsmp tag here on tumblr instead of only twitter, suddenly i wanted to write, i wanted to draw and above all I wanted to talk about the server with people. Now, this blog was made on a time where I was not really having a great time, I was presenting the game I worked on to a lot of people on a con and my group was having a lot of conflict and because of that I was getting very frequent anxiety attacks, to the point that I just blocked any memories from what happened in either of those days, around the same time the tazercraft prison stream happened and I felt like I needed to talk about it, I wanted to talk about them more because at the time (this was around july/august) I didn't saw a lot of people talking about Pac and Mike, so I did my best to liveblog the prison stream and kept liveblogging until this day lmao

What I didn't expect from that, was to get passion back. I hadn't really written for my own enjoyment in quite a while, it was always reserved for college, but the server made me want to write, made me want to analyze those characters and share my thoughts about them!

And I must say, I definitely did not expect finding friends here and not because you guys are not great or something, because you are, it's mostly because I always had a hard time befriending people especially over the internet, because I always had a big fear of being judge by the way I talked, the way I enjoyed things, everything really for me even breathing felt like people were judging me for it.

But I did found friends, I found wonderful people who I talk with daily and even people who I might not talk on dms or discord a lot, I still see in my notes every time and we talk through the notes and it's fun, it feels like we are sharing little jokes!

Overall, I wrote this to say, that joining qsmpblr was probably the best thing I did in a long time.

So, they were on the usa development team together and they were inseparable. Like, everything we saw about one, the other was close by. And Eddie was already being looked at closely, talked about as if he was going to be a great name on the nhl at 16 and he would bring up Buck for absolutely no reason, talk about them practicing late, hanging out, when he got drafted he talked about how Buck was one of the things that helped him get through the stress, it was crazy. And Buck is a goalie, so the expectation was not for them to be running drills together, yk? But they were. And when you look at it, you won't think it makes sense, especially if you know Eddie as Mr broody, because Buck is a golden retriever trapped in a human body, a complete wall on the ice, yeah, but out of it? That dude is a teddy bear. I know he has to take things seriously, he wouldn't have made it to the league if he didn't, but he's the embodiment of carefree and Eddie is just…not lmao. It was ridiculous, they had a very elaborate pre game ritual, that included a secret handshake, Eddie was seen wearing Buck's hoodie multiple times (oh Eddie in the #50 hoodie not realizing it and blushing all the way to his ears when he noticed I will never forget you), there's this one video of them showing around the arena for their last game before Buck went to college that they just keep bumping shoulders with how close they are walking, like, just hold hands already, it will be easier.

Season 2, Episode 8 Post-blog:

So I did not liveblog this episode since I had friends over to do a watch party, but here's everything I remembered that I wanted to talk about!

As far as I can tell, the two Seanchan sul'dam that got collared are not going to be found with the collar on them. (Not sure if Renna is dead or if Egwene chose to uncollar her, but either way she's not chained up in a basement with the collar on waiting to be discovered by her peers.) I was thinking at first that this had major implications for the rest of the Seanchan storyline. But really, it only has implications for Suroth, since in the books Suroth (and Alwhin, who is already her Voice in the show) sit on the information until Egeanin discovers it separately. Egeanin can still be the first Seanchan to know and do anything about it. I do think this lack of a dangling thread, Suroth's ship being blown up, and the way it's hard to get actors to come back seasons later make it more likely we've seen the last of Suroth. I would be happy to eat my words, though! Also, Egwene, Nyneave, and Elayne all know you can collar a sul'dam, and possibly Mat, Rand, and Perrin will soon as well if anyone remembers to communicate this information, so any one of them could spill the beans.

Major props to whoever hypothesized that Uno would be a Hero of the Horn; not sure if he's implied to be Gaidal Cain or not (possibly not? there was a blink-and-I-missed it moment of PDA between Birgitte and somebody but I am not sure if it was Uno or not).

I did not anticipate Mat making an ashandarai out of household objects and the dagger and I am EXTREMELY PROUD of him. Also proud of him for escaping traps! My boy is really coming into his own! I also really appreciate the classic blunder of doing the same thing to Mat again but worse- the Dark does not understand that my boy thrives when you do that. He solves his problems by escalating them in intensity or magnitude. You can only put him in a room with drugs once, if you put him in a room with drugs again he will use them in an unconventional manner to escape and also destroy his enemies.

Also props to whoever guessed that the Horn would trigger memories for Mat- I'm intrigued by where they are going with this. I hope it's not precluding the Aelfinn and Eelfinn, but given all the hanging foreshadowing, the makeshift ashandarai, and Lanfear yeeting Moiraine out of the waygate doorway, I don't really think they'd cut the Eelfinn. It's the Aelfinn that seem slightly less like a sure thing, and I'm going to be a little on edge until Mat gets the DotNM prophecy somehow. I don't think they'd cut the problematic fave; it's a juicy part, idk what Mat would even do if he weren't babysitting the Seanchan in the later plot, and they've been doing great with the 'you're wrong but I see where you're coming from' characters. But they've either cut or significantly changed the Moiraine/Thom relationship in the show, and the two relationships are kind of linked in my head for thematic reasons. I'm probably overthinking it though.

Loved that Egwene got to face off against Ishamael! Loved Egwene all the time forever actually. I was also entertained that Egwene had like one semester of Magic College and used it to school the Seanchan on linking mechanics. She's right that the sul'dam don't know how to link properly and are weak little babies when it comes to channeling, and she should say it.

Nyneave and Elayne were great, as usual- very impressed with Elayne, who is finally living all her Battle Queen fantasies and is being very brave about how much they suck, actually. Nyneave is in for some self-loathing next season though, I'm afraid. I love that Rand and Elayne still get to have a meet-cute when she's treating his wounds. :P

I was very happy for Tumblr User Moghedien that we got to see Forsaken Moghedien. She's offputting and very gay, just like I imagined!

Oh that was so good, such a fantastic ending. I love this show so much and I love the way it came to a close.
