Healthcare technology refers to any IT tools or software designed to boost hospital and administrative productivity, give new insights into medicines and treatments, or improve the overall quality of healthcare provided.
In today’s connected world, technology is becoming increasingly relevant in every business industry, as well as our personal lives. Of all the industries that technology plays a key role in, healthcare technology is certainly one of the most critical. Care providers and organizations are relying evermore on emerging technology in healthcare for improving and saving countless lives worldwide.
In the healthcare industry, the dependency on health technology is ever increasing, and as a result of healthcare technology trends, practitioners can carry on with finding ways to improve their practice, from better diagnosis to improved patient care.
Absolutely, technology has been playing a significant role in revolutionizing patient care within the healthcare industry. Here are some ways in which technology has been making a substantial impact:
Telemedicine allows patients to consult with healthcare professionals remotely through video calls, phone calls, or chat, making healthcare accessible to individuals who might have difficulty reaching a physical healthcare facility. Remote monitoring technology, like wearable devices and sensors, enables healthcare providers to track patients' vital signs and health metrics in real time, allowing for early intervention and personalized treatment plans.
AI algorithms can analyze vast amounts of medical data to identify patterns, predict disease outcomes, and suggest personalized treatment plans. Machine learning models can assist in diagnosing conditions like cancer from medical images and improve the efficiency of radiology and pathology workflows.
Connected with AI and other technologies, data integration and predictive analysis help extract relevant insights about patients’ conditions. Thanks to AI devices, such as robots that enable integrated data and predictive analysis, medical staff have insights into the patient’s medical record, can generate more accurate diagnoses, and decide what treatment will work best for them.
Technology continues to evolve rapidly, and its integration into healthcare is transforming how patients receive care, leading to more personalized, efficient, and effective medical services. However, it's important to address challenges such as data security, privacy concerns, and the digital divide to ensure that the benefits of healthcare technology are accessible to all.

Always wonder how the Humans Are Space Orcs works in the context of like, neurodivergent and chronically ill/disabled people.
Like, "this human's brain is not producing enough of the required chemical and it has a significant negative effect on their quality of life.
"Oh that's very sad-"
"So they bought some from the store in order to top up."
"What."

You guys wanna know when the things I wished for, hoped for, visualized and manifested actually started to appear to me, to become my reality? When I understood and learned how to ENJOY THE PROCESS!
Let’s yap a bit… ;)
Us as immediate people in an immediate society end up focusing entirely on the results, we only see the things we wish for as results, as finish lines. What we fail to do is see the start line and the path that leads to the end.
I don’t want to sound corny, but it’s really all about that Hannah Montana movie song “The Climb”. We only think about how fast we will get there, how life will be when we get there, how happy it will be when we get there. Well, here’s the thing: if you’re not happy and grateful throughout the way, don’t even expect to be happy on the finish line. Our goals are not essentially what make us happy, they’re proofs of our capacity and work. What actually makes someone’s life happy and amazing, is the way that person behaves and conditions their mind WHILE chasing all of these dreams. It’s all about your methods, it’s all about your feelings, your reactions to the world, the way you act towards people. Don’t think you’ll be happy and achieve the greatest things when you live your life and answer to the world bitterly, in a rush, not paying much mind to it.
I know this is obvious, but just so that no one is confused and comes for me after: I’m not saying every day is going to be incredible, I’m not saying that you’re not allowed to be sad, angry, uncomfortable, jealous, disgusted. These are all perfectly normal and human emotions, and everyone should feel them—it just shows you’re alive. This concept of being 24/7 happy and grateful and “Oh my God, everything’s incredible all the time” it’s just not sustainable nor healthy (+, obviously, not real). What we should do, instead, is allow these emotions to be felt, and then act upon them understanding why they’re there and how we can soothe them, or make them a little less strong. For example, understand where your anger comes from, is it truly someone’s fault, why are we feeling it. Not block it, not try to stop it from being felt—but understand it. And then, after thinking (even meditating, if you like) about it, let it go, and let it be felt still, if you think it’s the right thing. Don’t ask too much of yourself always, sometimes we really just need to scream for a second on our pillow or shed a tear in our room. It’s perfectly alright and also healthy!
Have fun, make friends, create good memories with these friends, study, live your life to the fullest. Meet new people, go to new places, discover new music, books, art, movies that make you feel something. Laugh with people you love, create memories through pictures, do some risky things, you don’t need to always be so careful about everything. Some lesions make us stronger. And while you’re doing everything else, manifest your dreams, work towards it, put in the effort, visualize, believe you’re worth and destined for that, acknowledge you already have everything you need to get there and that, actually, you are already there.
Learn to actually live your life on the way to your dreams, not just survive the path. When you look at life with gratitude and love, life looks back—and you’ll feel it.
As always, you’re free to agree or disagree with me on the various topics I talk about. It’s my own experience and the way it’s been for me. Feel free to also share your stories on comments and/or reblogs! I’ll love to see it.
That’s it for today’s yapping session. Love, Seiko ♡

State elections are coming up here and the redneck cosplay party has decided their signature issue is going to be Ban Abortion Again and the conservative opposition are going with Let's Lock Up Kids, which at least has some basis in local popular opinion about being tough on yoof crime, but the abortion ban? Feels like US right wing internet poisoning tbh. I hope they lose whatever larrikin vote they used to score and get read for filth by their local communities. Ban abortion? Fuck off and take your awful little counterfeit family values with you back to your MAGA and bot farm twitter echo chambers, you egregious be-hatted shitstains.
#auspol#meanwhile the child protection system in this state like everywhere in Aus is grossly dysfunctional and ineffective but sure#treating children as adults in the justice system will solve everything#less healthcare more prison what a great vision of the future

I need to say some stuff about the election. Voting is a choice. But it's not only a choice - it's a privilege. A privilege that may be taken from us if trump wins. Everyone should be free to vote for who they want to vote for, but this election isn't like other elections - more is at stake now than has ever been during my lifetime, and probably during yours, too. Millions of people across the world are depending on you to make the right decision, not just for yourself, but for them. I'm sorry if what I'm about to say would mean sacrificing your morals, I'm sorry that everything is so broken that this is the position we're in, but: it doesn't matter what you think. I don't care if you don't like Kamala. I don't care if you hate her pro-Israel nonsense. Vote anyway. Vote for her anyway. If you are a one-issue voter and this makes you not want to vote? You may never get the chance again. Kamala wants a ceasefire; trump wants to wipe every Palestinian from the face of the earth. Kamala won't strip away your rights; trump has done nothing but take things away from us. If you are gay and you want to keep the right to adopt, to marry, to work with protection from discrimination in the workplace, to get somewhere to live without being turned away because you're gay? Vote Kamala. If you wan tot get married to someone who's a different race than you? Vote Kamala. Because Trump is trying to take all of this away from us.
A vote for third party is a vote for trump. I know we all want to be able to vote for who we actually agree with, actually want running the country, and in a perfect world you'd be able to without risking so much, but this is not a perfect world. This is not an ordinary election. If Harris loses by one vote and I didn't vote, I would spend the next four years blaming myself for every loss, every death, every new genocide. And it might not only be four years - not if trump gets his way. He wants to rule forever. Don't let him. Vote Harris.
#I'm sorry that we're in this position. I'm sorry that I'm asking people to sacrifice what they believe in. I'm sorry we're at this point#but if I wake up in three weeks to a dictatorship#to more weapons to israel and russia#to losing my rights to healthcare working housing marraige everything? And you didn't vote to prevent that?#It's on you. You need to think critically and exercise your voting power strategically not morally. I know this will make people#uncomfortable but too fucking bad. Better uncomfortable for the three seconds it takes to tick a box than tens of thousands of more deaths#losing this election is more than politics. It's more than who's in charge. It's our entire damn future#Vote#vote blue#vote democrat#vote harris#tumblr#us elections#american elections#election 2024#us politics

Humankind's progress on reproductive rights
how about some good news?
as reproductive rights are under fire in the United States, most countries have moved toward expanding access - USA, Nicaragua, Poland, and El Salvador are outliers
in the past three decades, 60 countries around the world have made abortion laws more liberal and expanded access to reproductive health services, increasing the quality, accessibility, and safety of abortion care while raising maternal health outcomes
most international authorities call abortion a crucial aspect of health care
in related news, free contraception and sex-ed have helped Finland reduce teenage abortions by 66%
it's almost as if right-wing politicians don't care about citizens' health or actually reducing abortions

hysterectomies should be easy to just call your doctor and schedule one for next week and only cost one hundred dollars. like spaying a cat.
#eliot posts#this is jokes i KNOW it's more complicated for humans bc of how our hormone cycles work#so hysterectomies (especially full ones where you get the ovaries removed) can have unwanted side effect#BUT AT THE SAME TIME#the way medical misogyny (as well as good ole overly expensive american healthcare) makes them unnecessarily hard to get#''but what if you want BABIES some day'' no thanks. fuck them kids.#''but what if your FUTURE HUSBAND wants BABIES'' someday. no thanks. not into men.#(and trying to pressure me to carry a child for them would be grounds for divorce to me anyways. fuck you im not a baby machine.)#this post brought to you by: i feel like i got hit by a fucking bus after last night's cramp incident#i want this thang GONE

Institutionalized homophobia at the Tavistock’s Gender Service for Children (part 1)
Clinicians who worked at Tavistock's Gender Service for Children (England) speak about homophobia in the transgender service: ‘I wouldn’t say we were overly sensitive,’ says Matt Bristow. ‘I think we put up with hearing homophobic remarks being made on a daily basis for a number of years. And when we tried to talk about that in the team, it was kind of ignored.’
"‘It could be completely silencing people who are gay,’ Anastassis Spiliadis says. ‘It could be dismissing the reality that sexuality can play a role in how someone identifies.’" [...] He recalls families who remarked, ‘Thank God my child is trans and not gay or lesbian.’ ‘We had this so many times.'"
"Some young people themselves would be repulsed by the fact that they were same-sex attracted. They did not identify as gay, because they did not see themselves as of their birth-registered sex. ‘I had kids telling me, “When I hear the word lesbian, I cringe. I want to die”… “I’m gonna vomit if I hear the word lesbian another time,”’ says Spiliadis."
"A large proportion of the teenage girls seen by GIDS were same-sex attracted. ‘Initially, some of them had identified as lesbian. And some of them had experienced a lot of homophobia and then started identifying as trans. It was almost like a stepping stone,’ explains Spiliadis."
"The level of homophobia she witnessed generally across her caseload shocked Entwistle. She says it wasn’t discussed in the team, and there was no training on how to talk about sexuality with young people. [S]he was surprised to find that homophobic bullying was not a ‘thing of the past’. Even more surprising, she says, was the language used by the young people themselves – ‘old fashioned slurs’ that she hadn’t heard since the 1980s."
"Matt Bristow came to feel that GIDS was performing ‘conversion therapy for gay kids’. It’s a serious claim. Some clinicians have relayed how there was even a dark joke in the GIDS team that there would be no gay people left at the rate GIDS was going. ‘I don’t think that all of the children there were gay, by any means,’ Bristow tells me. ‘But there were gay children there – in my view I think there were gay children – who were being pushed down another path.’"

being a sollux fan is suffering cant even check his tag w/o getting ersl as the first result😭😭 pissed me off so bad i actually blocked the artist sjdjsjjsjdsj
HELPPP i wish tumblr's filter content settings actually hid posts entirely instead of leaving it behind a wall. but i will say there were two fairly recent ersl interpretations that i found pree fresh, rlly gotta clown these charas for the funs
#ask#anon#mumblings#not sure if ive mentioned before but one of my earliest exposures to ersl was from a super old humanstuck slkt fic#its been 2yrs since i last read it so i may have misremembered the details and thereby fudge this description but#the premise had slkt being poor living together w karkat working his ASS off to the boneeee barely afloat providing for both him and sollux#they're dating but sollux was v mentally ill + extremely distraught and depressed after accidentally killing aradia in a car crash#he became confined to his room and when he wasnt bedridden he was physically and verbally lashing out at karkat. its heavy and upsetting#meanwhile karkat was churning multiple jobs just to sustain them - he's hurt stressed and in pain from losing the sollux he once knew#but he still insists on staying bc he cares abt sollux. then after a few months of this sollux's dad refused to keep paying for his meds ??#the bill was so expensive kaRKAT BROKE DOWN AND COULDNT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!! i forgot what happened immediately afterwards but#they split and sollux gets kicked out (?) while karkat slowly recovers from the sheer survival mode trauma of the whole experience.#then ~Timeskip to the future~ where karkat finds out sollux's mental health improved significantly.... & that he's happily dating eridan :D#UGH. cant help but laugh just thinking about it.#bcs iirc sollux explains to karkat how eridan is loaded asf and can easily afford all the necessary medications sollux needed to get better#thats how the fic concludes btw. karkat still alone with eridan suddenly getting inserted as sol's uber lucky rich bf benefactor#like gawdd. this is THE funniest possible way of adapting the “slkt lowblood vs ersl high/lowblood” dynamic to its closest human equivalent#i hope i didnt just hallucinate this whole thing pls i cannot for the life of me remember much other than that twist ending#decade-old darkfic demonstrating relationship between class poverty mental illness and the american healthcare system! still relevant today

Stormlight AU where Tien doesn’t get drafted to fight a pointless war. Kaladin gets to go and study to become a surgeon at Karbranth. Instead of Syl, he ends up attracting the attention of a cultivationspren and becoming a nascent Edgedancer. He becomes catapulted into Plot(TM) when one of his patients gets transferred to Taravingian’s sketchy future sight division.
Idk I just like the idea of a Kaladin who doesn’t have to angst about when to kill and when to save, he can just focus on saving and healing those in need. You cannot tell me that Roshar’s #1 Union organizer wouldn’t swear to “remember those who have been forgotten.” Also Surgeon Kaladin getting to use Regrowth powers would be very fun.
Taravingian: “Why do I hear Eurobeat music?”
Edgedancer Kaladin who has been picking up speed and gliding across half a continent:
#edgedancers#stormlight archive#Stormlight AU#yes I would be sad with no Syl#but I think this would be worth it#it also occurs to me that Kaladin and Taravingian could end up having a similar dynamic to canon him and Amaram#Kaladin: “he’s evil and killing people for future visions!”#Dalinar: “the free healthcare guy?”

Future doctor in need of donations, goal almost reached.
Meet Sahar (tallest). Sahar is only 14 years old and has big dreams of becoming a doctor. She wishes to dedicate her life to saving others, but she is under constant threat of having that taken away.
Sahars father reached out to me today, he explained how she has lost a year of schooling because of the war. All of her big dreams must stay confined within the walls of her tent, where her and her siblings seek refuge. Despite everything, Sahar still holds onto hope that there are good people out there (such as you and I) who are ready to help.
Even if you can’t donate, visit her father’s page and share his pinned post ( @reemshehabnew ), as well as sharing this one. Get the word out as much as you can, they are so close to their goal.
I don’t know how to do the vetting links, but everything you need to know is on his page.
