not at all :) - sometime you just need to whack people with a dismissive 'not at all' so devastating that it sends the interviewer cackling manically 🤭🤫
Your Spider-Man Noir AU keeps me up at night thinking about it and I still know literally nothing about it. How so? How can this happen? To just a little guy?
there is a surprising amount of body horror in regretevator. sab is just a regular person with an owl's head stitched on. mach was cybernetically enhanced against her will. folly's mask is seared onto her face and her physical form is unstable. slimyim is some kind of massive eldritch entity made of meat that comes out of the ground like a tumor. bive is made of mostly, if not entirely, hair. spud.
hm. a thought re: the life of sunday (ruby's leitmotif)
so ruby is the Only companion during murray gold's tenure to have her leitmotif in a really, really minor sounding tonality.
technically martha's theme is also in minor, but it switches between aeolian and dorian, which are two different types of minor scale that are both more folk song esque. but either way, martha's theme is still ambiguous about its tonality, whereas the life of sunday is very very obviously in harmonic minor (the sad / spooky sound we all know).
(also, technically donna's theme is also sort of in minor key, but its ambiguous as well and undeniably more silly than anything else. and especially NOT sad)
every other companion's theme is very clearly in major key (rose's theme, amy's theme, clara's theme, and bill's theme).
Man, you ever think about how so much of Vash’s suffering is tied to Knives? In the obvious, direct ways of course. But also in how the humans around him suffer and hurt him. People are afraid of what they don’t understand, sure, but the average amount of compassion on Noman’s Land would be so much higher if Knives weren’t constantly fucking everything up and people had basic needs met. Small communities and people in general aren’t so goddamn awful as a baseline in a lot of places. There are outliers, yeah, but if humanity could have recovered and made the best of things, had a chance instead of widespread dispair, there might be peace.
And if Vash didn’t have to fight so goddamn hard every second of every day, he wouldn’t be covered in half those horrific scars.
One question I had, just sort of an idle curiosity thing, was after the Russian forces withdrew from Ukraine in the northeast, what kept the fighting isolated mostly to the southeast, and what did the rest of the border look like between these two countries that were at war? Just guys with guns staring tensely at each other over the border fence?
Well, it turns out the answer to the first part of that question was “not a lot”!
for something as celebratory as the game's 1st anniversary, bluepoch really enjoyed putting us through the emotional wringer and the characters through the meat grinder.
the "well if they're your favorite character you want to whump them/project onto them/do terrible things to them" paradigm doesnt ALWAYS work for me cus like there are characters where no actually I'm wrapping them up in a blanket... I'm whumping them but maybe not to an extent that there's no comfort... I'm giving them space to reflect on their feelings... I'm cutting bell peppers for them... etc etc
