Today when I woke up, I had an itch to start building.

It was a familiar itch-- Surely most other people would wait until they had a fully enchanted suite of tools and well established farms before they started any sort of large scale project.

It was the logical thing to do.

I was learning more and more that I wasn't a very logical person.

I took the morning to lay out a simple L-shaped house, throwing a circular tower onto the corner for contrast. I wasn't nearly as good as she was at building-- even the colors I used paled in comparison.

This would be good enough for me.

I was the only one here. Nothing I built had to be up to anyone else's standards. As long as I was satisfied with it, that was good enough.

After I was happy with the outline, I turned to my chests to see what I had enough of to make a house out of. I decided on a living roof, made from jacaranda blossoms and and azalea leaves. But the rest of it fought me.

I didn't have the full range of dark blocks that would really help the lavander to pop. Some-- like blackstone and basalt-- I didn't have access to yet, and others-- like mud and concrete-- would be extremely annoying to gather at this stage and without any infrastructure.

I didn't even have a crop farm planted yet.

After making myself a stonecutter, I got to work. There were so many new cuts to work with for tuff and calcite and even the asurine. I felt like a world of options had been opened up.

The first palette I tried was very pretty, but the purple was almost overpowering. It might look fine here, but as a house?

I pulled the purple back to an accent on my second try, and moved the dark oak up to help add structure to the roof. But there was something about the bricks that didn't quite look right as upper walls.

So I moved the bricks to the foundation, mixing andesite and tuff. The new smooth cuts of calcite and diorite gave the same effect as when you spread thin layers of concrete over wood or mushroom stem. This would be much sturdier than trying to have 'plaster' walls. And much easier this early in a world.

I wish I'd been able to use this before. The illusion of delicacy was one that made me smirk.

It was a good reminder to not judge a book by it's cover.

But now I had three different ways to take this build, and deciding was always the hardest part. Sometimes I would spend days laying out colors and different combinations for them.

I am however a different application of the Mozilla family, as I'm meant to test new features before regular Firefox does. And there's also another one, Firefox Focus. I think it's supposed to get rid of distractions and more minimalist. Ik that one is on Google play, I dunno about on computer tho.

Oh but of course! Have been struggling with it my whole life! Apparently, my parents tried to help me learn how to control it, but I swear to Elios, it's the darn hardest. These flames are like a bunch'a tiny dogs on a leash! Well, with time I learned to moderately take control over them at least, but I'm still not the best at it haha. That's the life of an elemental, I guess. The fire changes according to different weather and emotions yes yes, and if one is a decent observer, can probably tell what is on my mind by taking a look. Also, I despise the rain and cold weather. I look so raggedy, it's terrible! My hair becomes thin and slicks down into curls in the winters, and crops itself down when it rains, it looks like messy bedhair and I don't really like it... Wesley says it looks strangely adorable, but I think he just wants to be kind. And speaking of him, I lose any control of my flames when I'm with him! It is insane! I'm telling you I've never felt that before - besides that one time when I got really angry - and it freaks me out. I hate it because it makes me worry about my dear Wes, what if I accidentally burn him? Oh noes, my fragile heart could not take it. The créme brulée can have it all to itself but not him. Oh, that créme brulée. It was almost perfect, too! Liam told me it'd be great if I did it because he sees some talent in me, and I still goofed it up, look at me.. I also have been into some ceramic artsy stuff that Jun showed me, I love doing things where I can also use my flames for something in the process. I might visit Lynn soon, too. Well, I do believe that is all I have to tell you about the flames! I hope you got an answer from my ramblings, haha.

I have realized that I do not think the message has spread far, at least on this website. This might be due to the lack of internet in Gaza, it has been down for days. Not much can be said by the citizens there, it's like some people forgot about them. I encourage all of you to share this post, or make your own, letting everyone know about this strike. This is something that should transcend the aesthetic of your blog. My blog was a gimmick blog, but for this week, it is a blog for spreading information and awareness.

I woke up to more messages on my comm.

It was such a relief to know that I wasn't cut off completely from the outside world.

I was running low on food. The mushrooms I'd gathered would still last another few days-- but if I waited it would be too late. I needed to make a farm today before I started building in earnest.

There was a flat spot a little ways down the hill. I had wheat and pumpkins and carrots and onions growing before noon, and with a little bit of bone meal persuasion the dirt was full of baby plants.

I moved my composter down closer to the plants. I would need to hook up some hoppers to it soon, to make it automatic. I was still being bottle-necked by iron, though.

Why hadn't I ever paid attention to how an iron farm worked?

Ugh. I would need to go mining again soon.

I let my garden grow, and started digging out the foundations for my house. I wanted to put my storage in the basement, where it would be hidden away.

I used the dirt I pulled up to make mud. If I was going to use dark blocks for the base I would need it.

It was extremely messy, like it always was.

After that I checked in on my crops. The first of the wheat went to luring up the sheep I'd seen wandering nearby. They were easy to coral into a pen. The wool would be invaluable for the cold nights up here.

Maybe I would finally make myself a proper bed.

I spent the rest of the afternoon tending my sheep and my crops.

By the end of the day I had almost every color I could want. I was missing the greens and cyan, but I would need cactus or sea pickles or pitcher pods for those. I didn't feel like exploring.

Not yet.

Even without green I had a rainbow in a pen.

A proper wool farm could come later, and I would be sure to hold onto some of the flock for their meat. At least-- until I could get cows or chickens up here.

I hadn't seen any nearby. Getting them up this mountain would be a pain.
