Up late the night before once again! getting this up before anyone can tag me :)
And for my snippet I give you the one thing I just don’t think this fandom can get enough of 😂😂 whether we write it a million different ways or the same exact way a million different times!
(From the angsty break up/helicopter crash fic under the cut cause its a little long!)
Buck is running blind. He knows that. The forest is massive and his chances of getting lost are far higher than his chances of actually finding Tommy.  But he has to try.  He runs until he loses track of which way he’s going; until the land is no longer flat that he is running on, and he is leaping over fallen trees and boulders and brush; until his legs—specifically his bad leg—are burning and aching and ready to give out… but then he just pushes himself to run faster.  And as if by some miracle… he finds it. Off a little ways in the distance—just as Buck is about ready to give up, or at least slow down—he spots the helicopter. Part of the propeller is broken off, the front window is busted out, the tail is snapped in half… and it’s caught on the branches of a tree, about thirty feet above the ground. “Oh god…” Buck gasps. The helicopter is tilting and the door has fallen open. “Tommy.”  He is hunched over, seemingly unconscious… possibly worse—Buck can’t let his mind go there, not yet. He has to stay focused because Tommy is nearly hanging out of the open door. All he is being held in by is the single strap across his chest. He tries to pick up speed, but his legs are so tired. He screams at them—at himself—to go, move, run faster. He has to get to Tommy. He has to save him. He has no idea how.  “I— I’m coming!” He screams. It’s doubtful that it’s heard; between the noises all around him, and the fact that Tommy is not alert, Buck is sure he didn’t hear— Tommy moves. He groans. “Tommy,” Buck says, barely above a whisper. He thinks there’s no way he is heard that time but then Tommy’s head lifts, his eyes instantly meet with Buck’s. Tommy’s face is covered in blood and so swollen one eye is completely closed; and yet he smiles. He looks directly at Buck and a wave of relief seems to wash over him. Like just seeing Buck has made what is an incredibly dire situation into a simple walk in the park.  He shifts, and the helicopter creaks. The limit that  tension being put on the belt can take is being tested. “T- Tommy! Tommy, don't move!” Buck screams; reality rushing back to him as he tries again to somehow get more momentum into his feet so he gets there faster.  “E- Evan…” Tommy calls out to him, and Buck suddenly loves his name. He swears he will call and thank his parents for giving him that name and even allow them to use it again. If he can just reach the tree and get Tommy out safe.  Buck mentally pleads with his legs to move faster. He has no idea what he’s going to do; he will climb the tree if he has to, get to the helicopter and carry Tommy down on his back… if that’s what it takes. He doesn’t care. He will do anything. He’s so close.  There’s another creak.  A snap.  The belt goes slack. It no longer matters how fast Buck runs… there is nothing he can do. Tommy falls from the helicopter—his hands frantically reaching around, trying to grab something—and he collides with the ground just as Buck reaches the tree.
yeahhhhh! she's gonna be a ride <3

Flying (post-finale fluff)
It starts small.
Lena hates flying. Ironic, given her extensive aviation safety knowledge, given that she got a damn pilot’s license and designed her own jet. But being trapped inside a metal tube just never seemed appealing.
Then there was the time she was supposed to be on the Venture before it crashed, only for her helicopter to be shot down soon after. There was the time she really was trapped in a cargo bay and almost met her doom in National City’s reservoir. There was the time her engines failed flying into Kaznia, and she wasn’t certain she was within gliding distance of the runway. All the more reason to hate flying.
But Kara was there every time.
Kara was there to fly her away from Metallo, there to catch her as she was thrown over her own balcony. And once upon a time - in darker times - Lena had thrown herself off a cliff, knowing Kara would be there. Kara was always there.
So it started small. A few weeks after Alex and Kelly’s wedding, Lena found herself dozing off on Kara’s couch after a game night ran late. She forced herself off the couch, shrugging off Kara’s offer to sleep over - it was simply too intimate, when she was already secretly aching for her best friend.
So Kara offered to carry her home - and against Lena’s better judgment, she accepted.
Her heart pounded, for more reasons than one. The brief flight, the snugness in Kara’s warmth, the dancing lights of the city. For once, there was no explosion to flee from, no attacker to escape. There was simply the cool night breeze, and Kara’s small breaths against Lena’s cheek. “Are you okay?” Kara asked, and Lena nodded.
It became more commonplace, the quick flights home.
It was late one morning - after enjoying scones from Dublin - that Lena quietly asked if she could see the city from above during the daytime. After all, there would be no engines, no altitude minimums - just a simple hover, taking in all there is to see.
Kara’s eyes widened briefly, and a soft smile crossed her lips, as the kryptonian realized what this was. Because there was no utility in this request - no danger, no transport - just a simple desire to fly.
Kara held Lena close as they raised into the sky, Lena surprised to find herself smiling wide. Her heart pounded. But the reasons were shifting - less dominated by fear when she placed in Kara complete trust, leaving only the excitement and a fleeting wish. Kara’s “Are you okay?” barely registered in Lena’s mind.
Lena wanted more. But she didn’t ask again.
One fateful morning, Lena entered her kitchen to find Kara on the balcony. Lena almost didn’t notice the kryptonian, not when it was still so dark outside, in the pre-dawn hours of the morning. Some habits of the former CEO never died.
Kara waved, and Lena smiled as she made her way out onto the balcony and gave the kryptonian a quiet hug.
“Can I show you the sunrise?” Kara said quietly.
Lena’s eyes widened, and she nodded.
She would never admit it, of course. She would never admit to going out in her pajamas, barefoot as the kryptonian lifted her to the sky. She breathed in as they drifted through wispy cirrus clouds, noting the odd sensation of the humidity on her skin, until they emerged above.
The sky burned. Red struck everywhere as the sun glimmered in the distance, casting everything in its glow. Lena smiled, turning to Kara to express her astonishment, when she saw Kara gazing back at her.
Lena’s heart skipped a beat, as she recognized something ancient in Kara’s expression. Pain and joy, wrapped in an old world’s blessing on a new home, and Lena realized how precious the sunrise really was.
“Are you okay?” Kara asked quietly, and Lena felt something in her chest bloom. Because Lena realized she wasn’t scared to fly anymore. Not with Kara.
Lena reached out, touching Kara’s cheek. And Kara gazed back, her surprise sublimating to affection as she tilted her head into Lena’s hand, a small surrender of vulnerability.
And there was a moment in that, when Kara opened her eyes again, under Lena’s warm gaze. Recognition flared, as though something lost had finally been found, and Kara tilted her head shyly. Lena’s fingers drifted down Kara’s cheek, thumb brushing over Kara’s lips in a silent request. Kara tilted her head down further, capturing Lena’s lips.
And Lena felt she could fly.

This line is very significant...not only does it give Ben the hope to keep going and give us more insight into his arc for this episode, but it has a dark implication for the whole show:
If he hadn't fallen from the train, the kids would have all gotten home that night.
Ben or no Ben, the kids were never going to make the docks via the monorail: the track was obstructed by the train crash ahead of them, so it was always a doomed hope. However, when the monorail turned around and Darius realized that they were going back, Ben would have realized that they could just go back to Main Street. They could set off the beacon and get help.
When they arrived at Main Street on that fateful night, of course, Toro would have left...and, depending on when they arrived, there would be helicorpters evacuating materials from the lab. Or a veterinary truck arriving with the Coolest Guy In the Park escorting it on his motorcycle. Or, perhaps, they would have found Claire and her nephews waiting for a helicopter.
Even if their arrival didn't coincide with the nighttime activity on Main Street (and it's highly improbable that they would miss all that, the monorail's a quick trip), Ben would probably have enabled them to access the EDB before Rexy stole it for her lair: the woman would be far more concerned with picking up some protein from the goat pen or the petting zoo, or sleeping off her injuries until they stopped bleeding. A beacon message one hour after the whole island was evacuated would immediately be received by alert authorities doing a last-minute sweep.
The point is, Ben was the only member of the team they actually needed to keep alive and safe for their Immediate Evacuation, and he was the one man they lost.

Masterlist | Taglist Request | somewhat un-edited.
(pt.1) (pt.2) (pt.3)
Tumblr media
↳ "...you're the best friend I could have ever asked for," your words stung, shattering Eddie's heart beyond repair as his face twitched before hiding it in your palm. He made a promise as a child, to always have you in his life yet even as you got closer together, the more he realized how far apart your both were as that moment became a mere distant memory. Eddie was needy for more yet you had already packed up your bags, closed the estate for the summer and went off to find new inspiration worldwide.
↳ He ended up reading a few of the gossip articles his mother left on the coffee table one morning, hot pink, zoomed in features and question marks galore as you walked around in beach wear with another man on your arm. He gripped the magazine, throwing it back on the table before packing his bags and returning back to base.
↳ When Christmas came around once again, you were not at the estate- a newfound tradition it seemed yet your gifts were still left under the tree, perfectly wrapped with each Horniman getting a gift. Eddie looked at the professionally wrapped gift, chuckling to himself at the childish wrapping paper you always insisted on using. This Christmas it was a bunch of little green cars with elf's behind the wheel.
Tearing into the gift, Eddie pauses as he slowly turns the box open to find a custom engraved watch. Flipping it backwards, his finger traces over the engraving- "Always." His mother peers over his shoulder, smiling from ear to ear as she inspects the jewelry. "I'm jealous, Edward," she teases, as Charlotte mockingly coo's- loving as her brother's cheeks paint themselves a pinkish hue. Freddy is already drowning himself in the new bottle of liquor your most recent boyfriend was the owner of its production before Tammy demands her own fair share of the drink.
--
↳ More years had passed and it was September already. You had yet to go back to dating, stepping away from romance scene at the current news that rocked your world, sending you crashing towards the floor as you fell into your office chair. Gripping your hair, tears streamed endlessly from your eyes as one of your assistants rapidly books the private jet back home to England- both of your parents were just announced dead to the public before you had known privately.
They were on a charity meeting with local schools and had crashed in their helicopter- dying instantly. You felt sick, seeing their bodies broadcasted over live television, smoke exiting from the aircraft as you lunged towards the toilets and threw up your lunch. "The plane has been booked, ma'am," your assistant calls from behind the door as you dress in full black and head towards the airstrip.
↳ You were surprised to find a series of reporters already waiting for you on the runway. Putting on your newest mock-design of sunglasses- it was going to be your first break into another market. Lights flashed in your face, hands racing to pull you into their microphones and endless questions yet the airport staff were not trained for a mob of this size.
They bursted through, making you fall towards the ground as you curled up into a ball- doing your best to avoid being trampled further. You quickly worked your hands through your pockets, clicking the power button thrice in quick succession as your first emergency contact was called and before you knew it- Freddy and Tammy were bursting through the crowd, fists raised as reporters fled the scene.
They were dressed in head to toe in black, ready to take you back towards your family's estate and to the funeral. You stood at the front, head tipped low as your flowing black dress drifted in the crisp cold air. It clung to your bones, finding any skin you had yet to hide as you silently cried, head leaning towards Charlottes already waiting presence as she whispered her condolences to you before pulling away.
You blinked rapidly, doing your best to dry your cheeks as a warm body at your back had you raising an eyebrow, especially when their arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you into a strong hug as your skin became tickled by their stubble. "I came as soon as I could," Eddie spoke over the wind, watching as everyone started making their way towards their cars as light rainfall began to come down.
You turned yourself around in his arms, cries turning into laughter as you shook your head into his shoulder, hands gripping the fabric of his suit, threatening to tear it apart just as you forced yourselves apart. You shook your head, taking another step back as you continued to laugh, Eddie took a large stride forward, head lowering in worry- trying to catch your eyes as your hair began to fall over your face. Taking a sharp sniffle you spoke in even tones, "We only see each other at weddings or funerals, Edward."
"Darling I-" you hold up a hand, shaking your head once more as you take another step back, Eddie moves forward as you dance around one another, rain falling heavier as you walk yourself under a tree canopy. "I made a promise to my father years ago, he wanted me to stop talking with you- begged me on his deathbed that I was unknowing of recently. I made a compromise of being friends yet... If these are the times we find each... Edward I-"
"Please, don't call me Edward," Eddie cuts you off, heart racing as he processes the information you speak. I always knew that old man hated me from the start, business over pleasure any day of the week, Eddie thought to himself. Hands now grasping your shaking shoulders as you can't support yourself with the overwhelming grief- falling forward into his arms. "Eddie," you whisper out in a pleading tone yet unknowing of what you wanted.
Before you both could think further on the subject, your lawyers were demanding of your presence to sign the papers, as the only child of your parents. You were the Duchess of the estate now as the endless sea of documents and hearings suggested. And those small hugs and words sat still underneath that tree, rooted in place as Eddie got called back to work and in the trauma of it all, you were glad everyone left- wanted everyone to leave you alone.
The cameras everywhere started to become too much, the people constantly checking in- tip-toeing around you, as if you would break with their soft tones and bittersweet, pity-filled smiles that mocked the constant aching of your heart and mind. Articles floated around, showing old pictures, telling the world of how you were living the high life with dead money but you had money, you had fame, before this all and now, you wanted to escape it all.
--
↳ That man you were with was an old picture, that boat party was in early spring and that engagement ring was false news as you threw your phone across the room as it shattered against the tiles. In reality you were sat in your bathtub, barley breathing above the water. You have been feeling an overwhelming numbness in your present and soon enough, you were pulling at everything to just FEEL something these days.
Looking down at your hand, the family crest engraved ring upon your finger sat heavy as you came to realize what such titles costed. Someone was yelling your name from the other side of the door, pounding against the heavy wood as you sunk under, watching the bubbles of your breath break the surface of the water above.
You close your eyes, emptying your lungs before coming back up to the surface and clearing the hair from your eyes. You drain the tub, wet feet pattering against the marble floors and towards the vanity- your gear already waiting for you as you got strapped in and flung the door open.
↳ Determine to FEEL you tested drugs, tested alcohol but they both lost their kick. You tried sleeping around again yet could never get off, so you drove down country streets as fast as you could, jumped out of planes, flung yourself off cliffs and climbed up mountains.
↳ Your business was running in the background as you let it run itself. You sent all the staff home for the remainder of the year with their wages at the estate as you walked the line between fear and adrenaline.
↳ Sabrina had called you after receiving news of you being in the hospital. You had fractured your shoulder from a skiing incident, you smiled through the drugs, holding a thumbs up for the picture as she cried at the image. You looked so lifeless with those eyes, your skin appearing grey as a walking corpse yet you could care less. People still wanted to sleep with you, to "live that high life" and you allowed them to just as every paper told you to.
↳ What surprised you was seeing Freddy out of all people telling you off by your bedside. Tammy nowhere to be seen as he gripped your hand- pleading. You look at him blankly in the eyes, almost falling asleep to what you have heard a thousand times before. Yet there is one question that catches you off guard, your neck straining as you quickly look away to hide the tears beginning to stream down your face.
"W-What would Eddie think of you right now? He's off somewhere, probably getting shot at- thinkin' that his job was ensuringhis girl is safe at home. What a fuckin' joke (name), if you are gonna listen to anything I say, know that you are a joke- and thats coming from the definition of it."
You shake your head, now playing with the various cords in your hands, threatening to rip them out as you choke back a sob. "I'm sorry, Freddy, I'm so sorry for being such a fuckin' mess," you sputter between your lips, taking shallow breaths as your heart monitor rapidly beeps, nurses running into the room as Freddy stands up from his seat as positions himself at the foot of your bed.
"Yeah, well saying you are is a great step, now make something of it because I can't deal with all these crying people. Fathers health is gone- I think this is it..."
--
↳ Under a year later, Eddies father had passed. You remember never driving more of a wildly than then down the country roads, almost clipping a gate in the process as you opened the door with your own key. Staggering into the new dukes office and sitting by the fire once more as you held his head in your lap, he clenched onto your waist- crying before a knock at the door had him switching back off, hardened exterior as if nothing happened.
↳ You stood up quickly, brushing off your clothes and nodded to him with pained eyes and shaking hands. Your heart burned, wanting to help yet the hollowed look he sent you with the tip of his head was enough to have you swiftly out the door and here you were, dressed in black again as Eddie stood beside you, face hardened while carrying his father to the hole in the ground and while making no move to touch you. You stepped a bit closer to his side once seeing the woman from across the fence looking intently at you both, please make it not be another reporter.
↳ Eddie folded, wrapping an arm around your torso as he pulled you under his long coat- thinking you to be cold as you gripped his hip, turning your head away from their stares and whispered a prayer, setting your bundle of flowers against the grave as Eddie make his own remarks. You both going inside the home.
↳ Sabrina openly sobbed into your shoulder, this is the first time she had seen you since your most recent accident as she whispered in your ear, albeit a bit loudly- perhaps on purpose as Eddie's head snapped over to the both of you- pausing his conversation with Tammy. "I am so thankful that you are alive."
"Why wouldn't they be, mother?" Edward questions, looking between you both with the most remorse he has shown today. Your eyes snap down to his wrist as he plays with the watch you gifted him a few holidays ago. "I don't think this is my thing to speak about, Edward." And with that, she picks up her drink and strides over to the table as the lawyer stands, emptying various files from their brief case to the table.
Memories flash through your minds before Eddie holds your hand, you intertwine your fingers together, giving it a light swing while being unable to look at him in the eyes as you play with the ring on his finger. "I lost myself, Eddie. I-I'm still a bit lost really... I'm getting better- promise just, I fucked up."
"Hey, look at me, darling, look at me, (name)," Edward calls out to you, using his other hand to pick up your chin as you blink away tears. He presses a kiss to your forehead, using a soft tone, "and we will find you again, promise."
↳ Eddie was later pulled away from you as you made your silent escape and exited the room, Eddie becoming drowned in those all-too-familiar papers. You were un-noticing to Sabrinas thoughtful look as you exited the house just as fate would have it for the two of you, so close yet ever-so far.
Geoff was already standing by the front door, tipping his hat towards you as you playfully bowed back- engine roaring back to life as he knocked on your window. Rolling it down with a charming smile, "Everythin' alright Geoff?"
"Yes, my Lady. Just curious- you're not stayin'?"
"Oh... no... I think... never mind," you stutter, smile fluttering as he hums out in reply. "We hope to see you around more often your grace, mother misses you like her own," you nod politely, "I will do my best to then," you state before rolling back up your window and rolling out back down those country roads.
↳ That day Edward Horniman was established as the Duke of Halstead. The news once again meeting your phone screen rather than the word of those close to you.
--
↳ You wish you could say that you saw one another right after that, but after you made a spontaneous visit to the Halstead manor. The staff members look panicked as they speedily greeted you and tried to move you towards the seating room as you shook them off. Placing your bags by the door before walking further down the hall and towards the office. You looked through the french doors, heart dropping as that woman you had seen earlier flashed Eddie a charming grin.
Sabrina clapped her hands joyfully at whatever had been said as childish jealousy ran rampant in your chest. You glared at the woman, her face tilted away from yours, everyone unknowing of your presence before you walked calmly back down the hall. Picking up your bags with your head held high, the various staff members chased after you, "How about you stay for tea miss? Oh, I'm sure the Duke will be overjoyed to have you stay, Could I bring you bags upstairs for you?"
You sent everyone a small sad smile, their heads dropping down as they silently understood your decision. You dropped your bags back into the boot of your car, slamming the door close as you drove back down the gravel roads. Luna chasing after your car with a wagging tail.
Edwards meeting had finished as he dismissed everyone from the room, standing while taking a sip of his tea- his heart lunged forwards at the sight of your car driving away. He hastily placed his drink down, running down the stairs as his mother called out to him, warning him of the cold weather that morning yet as he opened the door, he could no longer see your car and that door shut just as quickly.
--
↳ You would try again to see Eddie, yet that woman was always seen right beside him. There was some dark part of you that hoped Eddie would never go back to dating, that you could be selfish yet it would be unfair as you had done your fair share of it. Unknowing to the pain Eddie kept to himself seeing you so happy with someone else. It seemed to him the only times he ever got to see you was when it rained and rained it did.
↳ You took a ride around the estate, really both of your estates since no formal fences were placed. You strode over the overside of the pond, eyes squinted at the sight of the woman once more falling in step with Eddie as Luna raced between their feet. You continued your ride, looking up to the grey gloomy skies with distaste and the next moment you looked back across, they all were gone - if just by your imagination.
--
↳ You were dressed to the nines, a flowing emerald gown drifting off each curve of your body, emphasizing your natural features as you swirled around the crowds of hungry business men and jealous wives as you picked up a champagne glass from a walking tray and returned to Mr. Johnston's side.
↳ A hand written and delivered invitation graced your doorstep, too tempting to refuse- it had been sometime since you last stepped into the spotlight and done yourself up, and so you went all out. You showcased your newest jewellery line- finally finding more inspiration the more times you reminisced around your inherited property.
↳ A rather bizarre relationship you held with Mr. Johnston as well, as he had tried to purchase your land yet smiled and waved away his deal like a fleeting thought. Mr. Johnston have given you many expensive gifts since them to keep your company with him- adoring your intelligence in everything accessory or business related as you reviewed materials for him as a side-gig and token of friendship
↳ You swayed lightly to the music as he introduced to you hundreds of faces, beyond impressed that me managed to remember the names and family connections of them all. You smiled politely, kissing cheeks and making small talk before being led to the next person, ignoring the stares as they watched you from behind- gown drifting away with you.
↳ Much to your surprise, you were being introduced to the Duke of Halstead himself yet for once you were not most interested in Eddie but the woman that stood ever-so elegantly by his side.
"Susie Glass, its an honour your grace," she said politely, red lipstick curving up into a small smile as you shook hands lightly, swiftly dropping your connection before Eddie picked up your hand, pressing a delicate kiss to the back of it. You both maintained eye-contact as he did so, never wavering before Johnston coughed, and you tipped your head down, a smile fighting against your lips as did Eddies.
With your gaze down, you ignored the rather pushing tones of both parties, focused on the small red liquid, is that blood?, starting to form at the edge of Eddie's shirt. You shifted your weight to stand closer to him, starting to open your mouth to question before Mr. Johnston was calling your name.
"You never told me, duchess that you and the duke had grown up together, what a wonderful sight to see two friends reconnecting. If you will Ms. Glass, I think we should allow them so time to reunite," Johnston comments, eyeing the closing distance between yours and Eddies forms as you blink a thanks to him as he leads Susie towards the bar.
"Is there something you wish to tell me, your grace?" you tease out, hands drifting up his chest to fix his jacket. You hold him there as his eyes quickly flash down to your lips and back up towards your eyes. Your head tilting, well that has changed....
"Can I not admire the dress? It has been some time since we have last seen each other like this. What was it, when we were 20-something?" You instantly remember that night, cheeks a hard red as you blindly follow Eddie down the hall and into an empty room, the door clicks locked as you become lost in the memory.
--
Eddie had pushed you up against a wall, the paintings swinging almost off their nails as your own scraped against his roots, ensuring that yours lips stayed on one another in a passionate kiss. The shoulder of your dress began to fall as did Eddie's lips, trailing down your chin, to your throat where he sucked a bruise as you softly moaned in his ear.
It was so wrong, you had a boyfriend waiting for you back at university, it was your childhood best friend- the one you promised your father never to be with and yet as he picked you up, hands feeling up your dress and pushed you onto a bed. It never felt so right.
Eddie climbed on top of you, smashing his lips onto your own once more as you whimpered and moaned as he chuckled, shushing you lighting before continuing his attack. You began to unbuttoned his shirt. Nails working down his abs as you smirked to the sound of his breath hitching as you created your own markings to his neck.
Nothing more ever came from your heated make-out sessions or hook-ups. Always resulting in being, "good friends" with one another who needed help...
"Everything alright there, darling?" Eddies baritone voice pulled you out of the memory as you his chest pressed flat against your bare back where your dress dripped. His hands on your hips, his head on your shoulder as you both swayed back and forth lightly.
You pick your hand up, placing it on top of his hands on your waist, circling around each bloody knuckle with concern. "What have you not been telling me, Eddie?" that you love me, your brain pleads to finish for him yet you hold your tongue, bitting your lip from saying anything more.
Eddie hums deeply into your ear as goosebumps coat over your skin, gods you feel like such a horny teenager. But to be fair, that would be the last time you were romantically involved. "I think I will need a few more drinks before I become an open book but, I have been busy in managing my fathers... businesses."
You step away from his touch, gathering distance, eyes firm, "I know what your family does, Edward. Longer than you apparently. I believe it to be the reason why my father never wanted me settling with someone like you-"
"Someone like me?" Eddie challenges. "Do you even have the faintest idea of what Mr. Johnston has done, what your previous boyfriends have done?-"
"Yes, I do. And that should make you understand why I still decide to come back to you, after everything," you finish with, taking a seat in one of the empty chairs by an unlit fireplace as Eddie stands in front of you, undoing his jacket with a hiss as you tut him off in a posh tone.
"Why, Edward-dear, it appears you are the one learning new ideas, would you like some help with that?" You tease out, watching as his shirt turns a deeper red. Edwards rolls his eyes playfully at you as you drink up the sight of this beautiful man, even when bleeding and threatening to stain the designer rug underneath you both.
You kneel lean forward, slowly unbuttoning his shirt as Eddie un-do's his bowtie, it hangs off his shoulders as you dress the wound with the supplies sat conveniently waiting on a nearby shelf. "Arms up now, captain," you playfully command as Eddie complies.
"Never knew you to be such a bossy one," Edward sarcastically comments, looking down at the top of your head fondly. You look up at him through your lashes, blinking twice before continuing your work. "And I never knew you to be bedding your associates-"
A knock at the door sounds as Eddies delicate look before a glare, enforcing that you both would speak about the topic later as you wipe your hands and lean back in the chair, smiling at the women as Eddie leans down, pressing a kiss to your cheek in thanks as he straightens his clothes out.
"Hello, Susan," the Duke greets the once mysterious lady as you look between the two of them, jealousy brewing in your stomach once more, your hands itching to hold on to some part of Eddie once more. "What have you done to him, duchess?" Susie asks you, hands presses and leaning forwards against the back of a chair opposite of yours.
You smile gracefully at the woman, beginning to stand yet as you approach her, Eddie softly grasps your wrist, holding you in place. "Well, by the looks of it. He has been shot- what have you been doing with him, Susie?" you fire back.
"Nothing-"
"Really then?" you cut her off with a scoff as you wiggle your hand from Eddies grasp, moving towards the door, you can hear multiple people moving in the hallway as you curse out, your dress spotted with blood. "Alright then, I think it's time for a sharing circle then..."
--
"You killed a man?" you ask calmly as Eddie slowly nods his head. "That was something I did- yes-"
"and by the sounds of it, it will not be your last... or hers..." you reply, head leaned into your hand as you found yourself seated once more. The party-goers were dying by the hour as you all soon made your speedy walks back towards your cars.
--
You joined Eddie that night, helping to redress the wound, dress him for the night, pouring you both another few drinks before pulling him into bed. What surprised you most was his tight grip on your waist as he pulled you down beside him. "Eddie I am not dressed for bed," you spoke softly, not wishing to awake anyone near.
"Sleep naked, wouldn't be the first time-"
You covered his mouth with your hand, shaking it away as he gave it a playful kiss. You heart lunged at the memory of a moment similar to this when you had just been cheated on. Yet you ultimately decide to make yourself comfortable, just as the last, kicking off your shoes but deciding to stare at the side of his face illuminated by the dying embers of the fireplace.
"You know, I think I have had enough drinks for tonight," Eddie comments as you hum out, eyes falling heavy as you press your head into your pillow for the night, taking a deep breath in- "I love you, (name). I've said it so many times to myself that it surprises me to sound so right saying it aloud," you are wide awake now, exhaling heavily as your legs twist together underneath the covers.
"I thought you were with Ms. Glass," you speak in a meek tone, not wanting your heart to explode twice, only one of you can be injured at a time. Edward chuckles, head shaking as he looks at you, brown eyes staring deeply into your own, "Well that same woman told me not to sleep with the help, I'm just taking her advice."
"Well she sounds like a very smart lady then, leaving all the more for me," you tease out, lips pressed together as you eye his own. Eddie leans forward, humming out as your lips connect, your hand finding the back of his head before a hiss escapes between his lips and you rapidly pull back.
"Oh shit, sorry," you apologize, looking under the covers to see your knee brushing into his bruised side. "You can always kiss it better," Eddie retorts as you roll your eyes and press a peck to his lips. "whats that supposed to solve?" And soon you both are up into the early morning hours.
--
When you awakened the next morning, having breakfast together in the study, you nearly spat our your tea with the words that escaped Eddies lips, "Would you help me steal a car if I asked politely?"
A smirk meets a smile as you tap your chin in mock-contemplation. "sure" you shrug, pulling the man into another kiss with a chuckle. And thus kicked off the rest of your lives together with a healthy side of cash.
--
Bonus:
↳ Lady Sabrina brought flowers and a bottle of wine to your mothers grave for a chit chat. She poured out to glasses, sitting one by the tombstone as she commented on the nutty taste of the substance.
"I was right in the end, you know. They are a rather marvellous couple and you really should have ended things with that husband of yours. My boy was only ever the most substantial choice, rather embarrassing to think otherwise."
Sabrina could imagine your mother glaring down at her, slipping her the bird while maintaining a pleasant smile. But in due time she would await that interaction as she sipped her wine, embracing victory as she squinted across the field watching as you and Eddie did shooting practice near the woods with a satisfied hum.

SGA Summer Vacation Recs
Tumblr media
So, a few weeks ago, a friend asked for longfic recommendations to read while on vacation, and I did not really realize how many I was recommending at the time. Seemed like a good idea to make a post about it.
Time in a Bottle by astolat, 14K (not originally on my list because it was too short, but it's too perfect for a summer reading list, so I added it), McShep, Rated E, Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings To see a World in a Grain of Sand / And a Heaven in a Wild Flower / Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand / And Eternity in an hour.
The Long Dark (series) by @logicgunn, 141K, McShep, Rated G-E but the first is M, Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings An astronomical event causes two strangers to crash land on a remote island in the frozen Canadian north. Cue a fluffy slow burn in a survival setting.
Lord John Sheppard Versus Earth by LitGal, 61K, McShep, Rated M, Graphic Depictions of Violence Canon diverged before Jackson found Atlantis. The IOC stepped in and decided to make things more efficient. A gene testing program brought Major John Sheppard into the program earlier, but budget constraints and international treaties have kept Dr. Jackson out of the antarctic. So now John has to find his own team--and his own geek--or he's in danger of being stuck in the mountain forever as a light switch. However, as the universe changes, fate forces some things to return to proper form, and other things… they get wildly out of control. John isn't sure how he came to be Earth's enemy, but he's going to have to deal with the cards he's dealt.
Teamwork by onthewaters, 24K, McShep and others, Rated E, Graphic Depictions of Violence There is an Earth where things have turned out a little differently, and the people who go to Atlantis aren't quite the ones we know. AKA The one where Rodney is a Mountie.
The Doctor and the Sheppard by @hero-in-waiting, 70K, McShep, Rated E They've been in Pegasus for a year before Rodney is finally allowed to go off-world to meet with the mysterious leader of a group of allies against the wraith. The first meeting goes well, sending them down a path none of them could've foreseen, and leaving Rodney with thoughts of the mysterious leader with his bright eyes and dark hair.
The Hard Prayer by Rheanna, 30K, McShep, Rated M One year after the end of the world, John meets another survivor.
In Sickness and in Health by @a-storm-of-roses, 31K, McShep, Rated E "So I told a little lie, just to get you back to Atlantis. It was the only way, so try not to get too mad. I told them we were married.” When John suffers a major, life-changing injury on Earth, Rodney must pretend to be his husband to ensure his return to Atlantis. As he struggles to navigate recovery and accept his new reality, John must also come to terms with his new role as Rodney's husband and the new dynamics in their relationship. A story of healing, recovery, loss, love, and acceptance.
Enigma by sgamadison, McShep, 32K, McShep, Rated E, Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings During an off-world mission, a piece of Ancient technology transports Rodney and John on a one-way trip to a deserted airfield. Working together to get back, it takes a vivid dream to make Rodney realize what's been in front of him all along.
Bridges by bussaiko, 52K, McShep, Rated E Engineer Rodney McKay went to North Carolina's Crystal Coast to help his sister design a series of bridges. He hoped to rebuild his career following a professional disaster; he didn't expect to be drawn into the small community of Athos Island, where he found friendship and perhaps something more with helicopter pilot John Sheppard. But when Rodney tries to learn more about John's past, what he discovers might tear them apart. (non-Stargate AU)
Apocalypse Rising by sian1359, 81K, McShep, Rated M, Graphic Depictions of Violence The Goa'uld are not the only ones who covet Earth.
Zen and the Art of Jumper Maintenance by Indybaggins, 39K, McShep, Rated M The one where Rodney gets sucked in and John… follows. Featuring a quirky John, Rodney in orange robes, crazy Ancient-worship, sheep milking and jumpers that aren't broken but need to be fixed anyway.
Black Helicopters (series) by whizzy, 141K, McShep, Rated T-E but the first is M, Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Screw the bet. Rodney was going to prove the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence. Oh, and incidentally, he might just catch the United States Air Force with their pants around their ankles.
Pegasus Purgatorio by MrsHamill, 127K, McShep, Rated E, Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings It is difficult to write a paradise when all the superficial indications are that you ought to write an apocalypse. It is obviously much easier to find inhabitants for an inferno or even a purgatorio. (Ezra Pound) Yeah, I'd say that about covers it, Ezra. John and Rodney are left behind when Atlantis (and, by extension, Pegasus) is evacuated. While returning to the Milky Way, they decide to bring a few friends along.
What A Wonderful Bunker You Would Make by ocdindeed, 50K, McShep, Rated M Summary in simple words: Rodney is recluse and John has a kid. Summary in not so simple words: Rodney McKay has given up on the world, living a simple life up on a mountain devoid of people. He likes it that way, at least he did until a kid with a full head of dark hair ambled up his dirt driveway and changed his sequestered life forever. (AU - Set during SG1 & Pre-SGA timeline.)
G******, Tramps, and Thieves* (series) by auburn, 372K, McShep and a whole lot more, Rated T-M, Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Rape/Non-Con, later fics Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Vala Mal Doran and her partners, renegades Jehan abd-Ba'al and Meredith McKay, hijack the Tau'ri ship Prometheus and leave the Milky Way behind in search of the Lost City of the Ancients, Atlantis.
*I censored this title due to a common racial slur

HER WAY — SULLY FAMILY
hello my loves!! it seems as though a lot of you enjoyed the first part!! so much so that i now wrote a second part to it!! before we get into it i would just like to thank you all for the support and nice messages <33 sadly i cannot respond to comments due to this being a side blog but know that i appreciate you guys sososo much <33 love u sm - nova .
ps : this is very short because i am very tired :(( also not read proof!! and also peep the little scene from my fav podcast ever !!
one , two
Tumblr media
IT'S BEEN MONTHS . months since the sky people returned to pandora. months since the raids started and months since ( name ) last saw her family.
" TO THE LEFT! TO THE LEFT! SOMEONE TAKE THAT DAMN TRAIN OFF OF THE RAILS "
" UNCLE TSU'TEY I WANT TO SEE THOSE HELICOPTERS GONE! "
" YOU GOT IT! "
that was a normal day for ( name ) now, riding her ikran into battle every few days in order to protect her people. she no longer was the little girl that would once run around in the forests of pandora, she was now the olo'eyktan, the fate of the omaticaya was in her hands and she was determined to bring them to victory once more.
or so was the plan.
" olo'eyktan ( name )! " a hurried voice called out towards the young woman.
" lu'ìkx. what's wrong? you seem to be in a hurry? "
" i see you, olo'eyktan . " the warrior greeted the woman before continuing. " i do not mean to panic you, but u'är and veinnì found this while patrolling, we think that this might be an issue that you and your uncle should talk about. " he said, handing her a piece of paper.
" i see, well thank you lu'ìkx, i shall discuss this with my uncle, you're dismissed now. "
Tumblr media
" uncle i cannot — you! cannot ask this of me. i will not. "
" ( name ), i understand, truly i do! but i cannot risk to lose you, i know yes, you're finally olo'eyktan but i'd rather you have no title than no life. " sighed tsu'tey . " i know that the thought of leaving breaks you but please listen to your old man for once. "
" ... "
" ( name ) please. you read the paper, they want to kill you, they won't stop until you aren't standing anymore so please follow your family, go to the reef and just forget about this place for a while. "
" .. if i leave now i will be able to join my family ... if i don't leave now i will be able to still protect my people, my people are very dear to me — "
" dearer than your family? "
" no ... not dearer than them. never dearer than them."
"there you go, that's your answer. go and prepare, you will be leaving in the morning. "
with a heavy heart ( name ) takes one more look at the forest before going to her tent. the gentle breeze and delicate smells caressing her skin. the forest was all she knew, it was her home, her sanctuary, she vowed to protect it with her all and now her promise will be broken.
' oh eywa please forgive me for this is not the way you gave me, please great mother forgive me for not being able to protect your creation. '
Tumblr media
the morning came with heart breaking news for the omaticayans, yet another treasured member was leaving.
yet another olo'eyktan was leaving and with that the last sully was gone as well. with one last glance ( name ) got on her ikran and started her journey towards the reef.
the journey was a rough one, heavy rains and cold winds that made them almost crash or the hot sun burning at her blue skin during the day seemed to discourage her second by second.
being alone made her realize how awful it was not hearing lo'ak and neteyam's banter, or jake's stories from back on earth or tuk asking the most random questions. she wonders why only now her brain decides to remind her of such times. perhaps during the time that she spent in the forest fighting she didn't have time to catch a break and think everything through.
no matter the cause, ( name ) straightened her back and continued to fly towards her destination. she would get to be reunited with her family soon.

It's only in Percy Jackson Fandom where shipping anything other than the main couple seemingly warrants death sentence.
Every other fandom explores so many other ships as shipping between characters helps in finding out how far the depth of their relationship might go.
Personally, I have always loved the idea of what Perachel could have been if Uncle Rick had actually tried. Imagine:
Part 1
Percy staying up thinking about this mortal he accidentally ran his sword through; she looked furious and confused and long after its over he is left wondering if that's how his mother felt when she met his father. He wonders it ceaselessly at times.
Rachel living in fear of everything she sees, plagued by dreams and visions, and this guy who ran her through with a literal sword calling her a mortal and surprised she can even see the sword just straight up leaves, taking all the answers with him. Long after it's happened, all she's left with is a canvas filled with the sketches of a sea-green eyed guy.
Then fate connects them yet again because Percy needs her. It starts with his need to fulfill the quest and her need for answers, but the awe Percy must have felt at Rachel's courage through the whole quest despite the incessant quips from Annabeth. He is sorry then that he has dragged someone like her to her death and if that weren't enough they run into the Titan King and he knows that maybe he has doomed them all and Rachel, mortal and unreliable according to Annabeth , throws a hairbrush at the literal actual Kronos himself.
On the flip side, Rachel knows for sure that whatever happens with her visions she will always dream of the sea green eyed hero. The images are everywhere. Him fighting, him negotiating, leading, saving them so she draws and draws and hopes it stops.
It has been noted somewhere in the Fandom once that the only reason Rachel was attracted to Percy was because he introduced her to a whole new world as if that isn't reason enough, as if they need a reason. As if it's not happened before with The Sea God and the Queen among mortals.
It doesn't stop for either of them cause now Rachel knows there's a prophecy hanging over Percy's head, and Percy knows she will see its outcome. So they talk of anything but this, whatever they can because neither of them wants to see how it ends, for the world and for them.
Long before Blackjack crashes his hooves on Paul's Prius, he knows it's coming; the end of the world, and it's far too late to look back. He leaves Rachel there because he is never taking her on a mission again, Morpheus knows he has enough nightmares of something happening to her.
Rachel watches him leave as a prickling at the back of her head tells her one of them isn't returning and no matter how wrong it is, she wishes against all odds that it won't be him.
After that, Rachel has only her visions to keep her company. She has started seeing someone's past , it's not his, but if she tries hard enough, she sees him once or twice. She commits the visions to memory, immortalizing them in art.
Percy doesn't speak to her for a good while after that, not because he doesn't want to, he would do anything to speak to her instead of doing this but his life's already forfeit so he might as well save the world. But he doesn't need to speak to her; they talk best in their visions. When of present, they are always of her. He understands why he sees them, for it's necessary to know what she sees, for she can't tell him, but he's glad for the excuse of it. He gets to see her, and he stays sane.
Yup, she's certifiably insane when she gets in a helicopter to see him, but he needs to know.
He was quite prepared for it, his death and her possibly becoming the Oracle later on. He knew it would happen. He is glad in some part of him that he would die long before it comes to fruition, that he would die in a world where they were together.
It would be their shared tragedy, them fulfilling their destinies as he escapes the divine while she ties herself to them.
Rachel had prepared for the same. She could give up over men , she was certain she would never think of them again after Perseus Jackson dies; it would be her eternal mourning and if someone asks she might tell them that the Spirit of Delphi lost her favored hero to her own prophecy.
But Fate's far too cruel.
Rachel is euphoric. He won't die, HE WON'T DIE. He's NOT the hero. The implications don't set in until she is facing him in the Throne room of Olympus. She says the things she doesn't even mean so she can soften the blow. She sees the break in him in his eyes as they share a last glance instead of a last kiss.
It clicks for him after Luke dies a hero. The bittersweet pang of triumph and loss. Blackjack is gone, and she's taken him. He isn't nearly as furious over that as he is about what she is to do.
He doesn't know if the curse is broken for sure, and he definitely doesn't want her to be the test run. Does she not know visions of her ending up like May Castellan are what breaks him in his worst nightmares.
He is the one who sees her take the oath, as she breaks what's left of them. A moment before all things come crashing down, she looks at him, and he looks back. The Oracle of Delphi and The Savior of Olympus have roles to play and loving the other isn't written in fates or destiny but they share one last vision of a perfect kiss as they resign themselves to their fate for the rest of their life; Their destinies forever entwined but never joined.
....Part 2 pending
(Also going to write headcanons of just perachel things and there are many so wait up)

fic snippet. decided to start writing the “eddie saves tommy’s life” fic but then the keyboard on my laptop broke lmfao so we’re in a standstill for a bit in the meantime…
It’s only in the darkest moments that Eddie thinks about parallel universes.
It was Buck’s fault to begin with. Since being struck by lightening — and god, wasn’t that a phrase — his best friend marveled at the idea regarding endless versions of their lives, all existing in mottled, stratified ways due to one happenstance or the other. Eddie knew what Buck had lived while in a coma. The strange, dollhouse life he’d walked through, the glaring what-if’s that had weighed through every moment of the dream like a benign tumor. Things Eddie could only process with a beer clutched in his hand and an additional bottle on deck. He was a skeptic; it was a tale he took with an iota of salt, alongside the logic of firing neurons and Buck’s generally fantastical imagination. Purgatory was for purification, not ideation. But Eddie didn’t want to discredit Buck’s story. Adjacent worlds in a dream, sure. That was plausible. In practice, well.
He only feared the doors it opened.
Even though Buck was harrowed by his coma timeline, he still spoke excitedly about topics like the butterfly effect and chaos theory. The idea that small things can have non-linear impacts on a complex system — funny, for an impulsive idiot like him. Hah. He dives into tangents about the Mandela effect and deja vu and encourages Chris to read A Sound of Thunder, some science-fiction story about time travelers who accidentally alter the future. Buck has since found peace within the the space-time continuum, an acquaintance turned friend. He seems to have the upmost gratitude for the one he exists in, especially since he met—
Eddie’s fists are white at the knuckle and joined tightly at the fingers as they pump up and down on Tommy’s chest.
It’s only in the darkest moments that Eddie thinks about parallel universes. It’s only a cruel twist of fate that he’s the one to do this — technically, he’s not even a medic anymore, damn it — but he’d been closest, on this angry, jugged stretch of rock.
Both the 118 and the 217 had been called to the incident. A dull, heavy fog had settled on Los Angeles, and a travel bus had veered off the road. Seven confirmed dead and twenty-one in critical condition. Most of them were already in transport to the hospital when it happened — they were only on the last few as Tommy’s chopper was carefully lowering itself to assist, the whirl of the wings practically whipping at Eddie’s hair. Despite the circumstances, he liked whenever their duties overlapped, there was a warming fraternity in seeing your friend at the scene, a feeling emphasized by the fact that Tommy was military too. It was unique, empowering, and only ever slightly blighted when Buck was there to have gooey, adoring comments about his boyfriend. Regardless, they were bound in a treaty to help, to assist in whatever God brought next.
But God always had to appear with an encore.
So, the winds turned violent.
Eddie knew the volatile nature of a helicopter. He lived it, inside of it, and he watched in terror as the bird lost control and careened before crashing into the side of the mountain. Fumes of dark smoke billowed up almost if to challenge the veil of fog. The next few minutes are a blur — suddenly, Hen and Chim are beside him near the bus, and they’re telling him, go. The helicopter is only a belay away.
Buck was off sick today, thank God.
(It was only a few days ago he’d been in Tommy’s backyard, a cloudless Saturday where the California sun felt less sweltering and more pleasant, the air jovial, beer cold, a football game upcoming and waiting inside. Tommy’s settled little square of garden was perfect for grilling, which is exactly what Tommy was doing, meticulously, fending away Eddie’s offer to help — Buck was spread out and smiling in a deck chair, seemingly accustomed to this process.
“Don’t try and contribute,” called Buck, adjusting his sunglasses, looking sanguine and amused. “He thinks he’s the ultimate grill-master. Any outside influence is just a distraction.”
Eddie throws up his hands and backs off as Tommy laughs. “Okay, fine, but we’ll see if we have the same understanding of medium rare.”
“Don’t insult me,” Tommy calls over his shoulder.
Eddie scoffs, moving towards Tommy’s sliding glass door. “Gonna get another. Be right back.”
As soon as he enters the terra-cotta home, he rounds Tommy’s kitchen island and has the premonition to look back outside, if only to appreciate his friends and the rarity of their aligned days-off. What he sees makes his heart glow: Tommy moves from the grill and leans down to give Buck a kiss, the grilling spatula tilted away as to not let any grease drop onto Buck’s legs. The kiss is short, but their faces stay close together, exchanging words that keep both their lips at a gentle upturn. Eddie should feel like he’s intruding, but he doesn’t. He just feels happy. For them together, for them individually.
Love is a knotweed of complications in his life. Not in its purest form, not in what swells from his heart — he knows the raw, bottled ambrosia of it, but he also knows the way it manifests, grows like tendrils around other people, dies, shrivels. The way it can be choked off before blooming. Eddie doesn’t like to think about love beyond the pure, all-encompassing type he feels for Chris. With any other type comes guilt. Comes Shannon.
He watches as Tommy kisses Buck once more on the lips. He grabs a beer from the fridge. He thinks, I’m glad they get to have this.)
Now, he’s doing chest compressions. There’s blood down Tommy’s face, carmine red staining like a curtain across his nose, his cheekbones. His eyes are closed, but Eddie swears he can see movement behind them, because he can’t fathom a reality in which there aren’t, in which Tommy doesn’t wake up.
He’s been here before. This is where his brain splinters — into other worlds, other lives, other chances.
Tommy can’t die off the side of some mountain in Calabasas.
to be continued👀

Is There Room For Four?
Chapter One - Room for Two
Summary: Simon 'Ghost' Riley didn't need a soulmate. He was fine in the black and white and gray world he was stuck in. Then one by one his soulmates start crashing into his life, bringing a new color with them. Turns out Simon likes this new colorful world his soulmates have brought him into Characters: Simon 'Ghost' Riley, Gary 'Roach' Sanderson Ship: GhostRoach, End game SoapGhostRoachKönig Work Count: 2055 Note: This was written back in 2022 and was originally posted on Ao3 Chapters: One(You're Here), Two, Three, Four
Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley worked alone. He always did. It’s been like this for a while now, but it wasn’t always like this. There was a time that he was Simon when he was a freshly turned eighteen-year-old. He stayed as Simon for a good while. Until it happened.
His family was killed, and he went after Roba, killing the man that had his family killed. He remembered seeing an old mask before he started the fire. The very same mask his brother would scare him with, and he grabbed it. Simon died that day. He died in the fire, and he became Ghost.
Ghost was a cold man who cared for nothing but the job, making him the ideal guy for solo jobs. However, fate was cruel, and fate had other plans.
When Ghost was told he would be teaming up with an American, he asked to see his folder. The American’s name was Gary Sanderson. Gary? What kind of name was Gary? His eyebrow raised, even more, when he read that his nickname was Roach. He took it back. Gary was normal. What kind of name was Roach?
During the first meeting, the Brit figured out why he got this kind of name. At least part of the reason. Gary was short, almost a foot shorter. Maybe not a full foot, but close enough. He was also quiet. From his file, he learned that Roach was selectively mute, and from meeting him, he learned he used ASL. Ghost was lucky to know a few signs to understand parts of what he was saying.
On the helicopter, Ghost looked over at the mission file. Roach watched out the window before looking over at the other man when he started speaking.
“There’s one building. A decent side warehouse. We’re looking for this man-” Roach took the paper from Ghost to look at the man. “-We’re to take him alive.”
The American nodded as he handed the paper back, feeling the helicopter get closer to the ground. They were about a twenty-minute walk away from the warehouse. The walk was quiet. It seemed to be how the two of them liked it.
Roach was a follower, noted Ghost. Always a few steps behind, never beside, never ahead. He was also aware of his surroundings, looking around and having his gun at the ready.
“Two routes,” Ghost stated when they got to the warehouse and took out the front guards. “You take left. I’ll go right.”
There were a few things that Roach noticed when meeting Ghost, and even from just looking at his file. He didn’t show his face, staying hidden behind a skull mask and sunglasses. Oh, those sunglasses looked stupid with that balaclava. The headphones didn’t help.
The American also noticed that the Brit was like him. A man of few words, Gary was just a man of fewer words. Only speaking about the mission, not that Roach minded. He wasn’t one for small talk.
Finally, he noticed how Ghost didn’t like eye contact, even with the sunglasses. Roach knew this because when he tried to look at his face, the other looked around. People with trauma around soulmates often do this so Roach assumed his world was as dull and gray as his own.
Before meeting one’s soulmate, their world would be shades of gray. Color would only splash into their life when their eyes met with the other half. Roach has met many people before. He has watched pure joy over people’s faces from meeting their soulmates, but he has also seen horror spread across their faces as well. It appeared Ghost would have been one of those so he refused to look. Avoiding eyesight was the only way to not meet your soulmate. Otherwise, fate would bring you together. Roach wanted to find his soulmate one day.
Now was not the time to be thinking about soulmates. The sound of gunshots from the other side of the building altered the guards that someone else was in the building but only on one side. The American took out as many as he could before he was also noticed, taking cover around a corner as he reloaded.
Thanks for the distraction Roach thought after finishing the final few guards on his side, taking the ammo off their body. He did change guns when he realized they didn’t have the ammo he needed.
Ghost nodded at Roach when they met up in the middle. The rest of the way to the final room was a straight shot. All the guards were up front, none in the middle, and very few in the room with the man. The American barely had to raise his gun before they were all down.
“Fucking hell,” the Brit said when the door behind them slammed open. The two took cover as about fifteen more armed men came into the room.
Roach found himself taking the time to aim for headshots at those who didn’t have helmets while Ghost just shot. They made a good team, and they both noticed during this time.
Fuck Gary thought at the sound of a car engine turning on and then the car speeding away. The other man’s body language said the same.
When they were sure the fifteen men were down, the two walked to each other again. The younger man could feel the stress coming off the other’s body, knowing they had two options. They would report their mission as a failure, or the mission would take a few extra steps to complete.
“We’ll get him next time,” signed Roach when Ghost finally looked at him. “And there will be a next time.”
Before the Brit could open his mouth to respond, Roach fell into his arms at the sound of a single gunfire. Ghost didn’t hesitate to pull out his handgun and shoot the culprit, one of the fifteen guards that used his coworker’s body to survive the original shootout.
“Bloody hell,” Ghost grumbled, pulling up the other’s shirt. He reached up to click his communicator. “Ghost 0-2, target got away. Roach is shot. Immediate evac requested.”
The response took a few seconds. “Heli can be there in ten minutes. They will land in front of the warehouse.”
Ghost looked back at the younger man, who was watching him with his brown eyes. Brown? Wait wait wait,,, brown?? His eyes went back down at the wound to see red on both Roach’s paling skin and his own gloved hand. Fuck.
He looked away to see his sunglasses were on the ground beside them. They had to have fallen off during all the confusion. He turned to look back, realizing that not everything was in color. His pants were still gray, and the American flag on Roach’s chest was still black and white.
Ghost was glad his mask covered his face. It was a mix of surprise, fear, and his face was also beet red. He finally stood up, helping Roach to his feet after putting his sunglasses back on. He threw his arm over his shoulders.
“We’ll talk about this later,” he said in a small voice, moving Roach’s hand to the wound. “Keep pressure on this.”
Roach watched him for a while before nodding. He leaned against the taller man, looking around as they walked. Where were the colors? They were supposed to be blinked by colors. This was anything put. Only a few colors and shades fill their world.
The helicopter wasn’t long after they got outside. Ghost helped push Roach into the ‘copter before jumping in himself. Instead of across from each other like they did on the way here, he said next to the younger man.
“How bad is it?” A voice came over the speaker.
Ghost moved Roach’s hand to look at the wound again. “Right above his hip,” he responded. “Bullet is still in there.”
“It’s twenty minutes until we’re back at base. There’s a medkit above you. Use it,” the voice said again before the radio went off and the helicopter started going up.
Ghost reached up to grab the med kit, kneeling on the ground. He placed the kit on his previous seat. Roach pulled his goggles up, resting them on his helmet, with his free, non-bloodied hand.
It was clear that Ghost wasn’t used to giving medical care, but he knew enough to be helpful. While the bullet was still in him, the Brit cleaned around the open wound and wrapped it up tightly. He also handed a sanitizer wipe to the American to clean his hand off.
Gary watched the man sit down by him again, staring ahead. Silence fell over them once more. It was more comfortable than their last silence, the two understanding each other a little more than before.
"Stop moving," Ghost only spoke after the third or fourth time that Roach shifted with a groan. "You'll hurt yourself more."
Roach froze, unsure how to react to the care. He looked out at the sky, relaxing more with another pained noise. Ghost's eyes followed him behind his sunglasses. He can't sit still, he thought, silently laughing.
They made it back to base shortly after this. The landing pad was on the other side of base than medical. Another soldier tried to take Roach from Ghost, who quickly turned that down. No one questioned him as he started heading toward the building.
It was three days later when they got a chance to sit down to speak about what happened. Ghost sat next to the American, placing a piece of paper and a pencil down on the table in front of him. Roach raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t know much sign language, not American at least,” Ghost explained. “I’m not forcing you to talk.”
Roach smiled behind his mask. They were both in casual clothing, but they also both kept their balaclavas on. Ghost wore the skull one while Roach preferred a plain black one.
“Now,,, we see colors,” Ghost started. “But not all colors. Strange, isn’t it?”
Without the sunglasses, Gary saw his eyes were gray. Were they gray? Or have they just a color they hadn’t unlocked yet. He knew his eyes were brown, same with his hair. He wondered what color Ghost’s was.
Gary leaned down to write. It’s weird. I asked the doctor about it and was told it’s possible there’s more of us.
The Brit raised an eyebrow. “More of us? Like we have more soulmates?” Gary nodded. “Fucking hell.”
Ghost rubbed his face with a sigh. He didn’t want one soulmate. He obviously didn’t want more than one. His stomach dropped when he looked back to see Roach’s response to his reaction.
Roach’s shoulders drooped down, and his eyes looked sad. When they met the other’s, he looked away. The older man frowned behind his mask. He liked the man’s eyes. They were,,,
“Beautiful.”
Gary looked back at him, squinting his eyes in confusion. He felt his face heat up when the other’s hand cupped his cheek.
“Your eyes are beautiful,” Ghost, no, Simon said.
They stared at each other for a while while Simon rubbed his thumb against his face. The hand slowly went down and stopped at the bottom of the balaclava. In response, Gary reached up and did the same thing. They stared at each other, asking a silent question. Simon nodded a little, moving his hand up again. The other copied, and they were maskless.
Age showed on Simon around his eyes. They had very noticeable eye bags and were slightly wrinkled at the corners. Hair that curled at the ear, facial hair that wasn’t shaved. A few scars on his nose and cheeks. His skin had color, but his eyes and hair did not.
Gary still looked his age, a few years younger than Simon. His hair was shorter and looked clean-cut, like his facial hair. Beauty marks under both eyes. His face was more messed up than Simon’s. Scars on his cheek, nose, and one going from the corner of his lip to his cheekbone. There was almost a large one on his neck. His hair and eyes were colored along with his skin.
“...If they’re anything like you, I won’t mind them,” Simon said in a small voice. Gary smiled in response with a matching silent laugh.

goddess
pairing: sotf cannibal tribe x fem!reader
warnings: standard sotf stuff— cannibals, death, violence, etc; nsfw under the cut
word count: 1.2k
author’s note: this is a self-indulgent fic and i’m kinda shocked that there isn’t any fics for these cannibal men 😫
Tumblr media
you originally wanted to enjoy a beautiful vacation on a neighboring island, and one of the exclusive leisures provided there was a helicopter tour of the nearby islands
oh, how the dreamy vacation would turn into a nightmare.
a bullet shot through the pilot’s window, instantly killing him
the helicopter crashed in the sea, and you would’ve drowned if kelvin didn’t drag you back to shore
although he had sustained more injuries, kelvin and his military training kicked in as he began prepping shelter and starting a fire
the crackling wood of the fire cloaked the sounds of the predators in the forest, but by the time the first arrow was shot, it was already too late.
kelvin was killed, and your head whipped around as you frantically tried to hide— but where? this was an open beach and all you had was the ocean behind you.
a handful of flesh-covered men approached kelvin’s body, butchering him like food
one of them— a burly man covered in war paint— locked eyes on your form and you were terrified
under his animalistic stare, all you could was crumble to the ground and cry as you tried to accept your fate
but what he saw wasn’t another meal— no, what he saw was much, much more. and the rest of the group saw it too.
there was an ethereal beauty radiating off you as you sat on the sand; your white summer dress drenched in salt water, that same salt water dripping from your hair. your bulbous eyes wide in shock and fear, tears cascading down your cheeks to meet and intertwine with the water droplets on your face.
if they were human, then you were a goddess.
the first man was the one to stride towards you, scooping you up in his arms and carried you back to the camp
at the said camp, you were gently placed at a throne made of human flesh and bones, but the sight of it just made you cry even more. you were utterly horrified and your throat was sore.
the men— if you could call them that— knew you were thirsty and hungry, so they offered you bowls of blood and human flesh, but you wouldn’t take it.
a smaller man— someone who couldn’t be older than 22— offered you a handful of berries and you hesitantly accepted it.
over the next few weeks, you were vigilant of your captors. you observed their cannibalistic habits and rituals and didn’t take any part of it.
despite your protests to their way of life, you didn’t make a real effort to escape from their fort. without their food and shelter, you wouldn’t survive a day out there. and as much as it makes you sick to think about it, it’s somewhat better to be around other…humans, you guess.
they barely spoke, mainly communicating through grunts, groans, and absurd yelling, but their point was always made.
over this time, their behavior towards you became gentler, fonder even. less and less of the other campers would eye you out of hunger, and would leave offerings at your feet.
that’s when you began to understand their treatment— they were worshipping you as their god.
before your appearance, there was no real community holding them together, it was every man for himself. but after you, there were whole rituals, songs, and dances dedicated in your honor.
of course, most of them involved the use of human remnants, but you would grow tolerant of this fact. after all, it was them who idolized you and they were worshipping you the only way they knew how.
this tribe of people believed that you were the goddess of life, a representation of mother nature that has come to them in human form.
between them, it is believed that your emotions control the weather; that your utter kindness towards flora and fauna has to be protected and cherished.
eventually, word of your stay would spread to other tribes over the island— to the tribes of the outer beaches and the clans of the caves— and while some were docile and obedient in your reign, others saw this as a challenge to their way of life.
although rare, there would be attempts to hunt and kill you. to these select few, you were seen as a threat.
but you understood where they were coming from, and your sympathy for these cruel men just enhanced the island’s adoration for you— because who else than a merciful god would forgive those who want her dead?
among food, flowers, and other items found on the island, some of the islanders had other ideas as offerings.
nsfw under this point
specifically, the warrior-led men offered up their bodies to you in a way to please you— sexually.
at first, you found it grotesque and rude.
but when you looked at it from their point of view, these were men who had no real sexual experience nor have they felt the love of another person.
your first sexual partner was with the man that had found you on the beach and he was surprisingly gentle.
he sat in front of you, legs wide open with his cock on full display—hard and swollen— but he didn’t make any moves. he stared at you patiently, letting you control the narrative.
you brought your hand to his cock, gently stroking it and that elicited a groan from him that you never heard before
in just a few strokes, he was already leaking with precum, and the sight of him was making you wet
foreplay thrown out of the window, you straddled his lap and lined yourself with his tip, before slowly lowering onto him.
to him, it was painstakingly slow, but he knew better than to lose control and scare you off. so all he could do to cope was grip your thighs with his meaty hands and in that moment he lost it.
the feeling of your soft, succulent flesh in his hands sent him spiraling and he instantly came in your womb. but he was far from done.
after your first sexual encounter, he would soon become a regular body worshipper, but soon others would want to experiment.
there were a variety of worshippers that would come to you—some simply masturbated to the sight of you, while others just wanted to taste the fruit— both literally and figuratively.
there would be some men who’s one true wish is to die eating you out, while others just want to lick the sweet sweat off your skin and bite down on your flesh.
the latter group of people would be under the watchful eye of your original captor (or as you’d like to think, your own bodyguard)
but you found pleasure from all your worshippers. through this practice of relieving their sexual tension, there was a noticeable change in temperaments.
also through this practice, you demonstrated to them what unconditional love and affection truly was— something they had never felt.
after each session, you would bring them close, caress them, sing them a sweet lullaby— whatever their hearts needed at the moment to bring them ease.
even outside of sex, you would offer your love and affection to any and everyone.
to them, you were their goddess.
to you, you felt like a well-protected and well-loved individual.

Just thinking about Soap's journal again and the reason why 'How many times times can a man save your life until it's no longer your own?' has me in a permanent chokehold. (822 words)
Tumblr media
Soap seeing himself in Roach.
Like Sanderson. He's a Sgt., but reminds me of what I must've looked like coming out of selection: raw, skilled, loyal to a fault.
Soap seeing Price in himself because of Roach.
Maybe it's the Villa Clara's? Five years ago, my first mission with the 22nd began with one. Yesterday, Roach and I follow suit. Then, like clockwork, fresh meat gets caught falling to certain death.
Me: Off a helicopter over the Bering Strait. Roach: An ice cliff in Kazakhstan.
But wait, there's more.
Have been looking forward to breaking Roach in. Beyond the mission similarities, He reminds me after myself after selection. Feel even more comfortable with him than Price must have with me.
And,
Afterwards, saw the Sgt. writing in a journal. Wonder if he's thinking about PT like I was. If he's wondering what Villa Clara's taste like.
Like, yes, Soap. It's only natural to think about what your captain's been tasting after he saves your life. There's no way that's something exclusive to you.
And of course, just like Price, you'd give yourself to keep your men from going first.
Bingo or not, would've crashed before leaving Roach on those rooftops. My fault, it was so close. Could have told Roach to shed more gear before the jump.
Yes, take full responsibility for Roach's fate. He's who you were and you're who he'll be.
Funny thing, watching Roach get taken down by Price in the gulag not like the old man rotted in a gulag for 5 years or anything...
It is funny isn't it, like your past and your future met at the present. And what do you do with the only tangible piece of Price you've had since he was MIA?
Felt good to give the gun back. Price's pistol wasn't just the gun that killed Imran Zakhaev - it was the gun that saved my life.
In Price's hands, not yours. Right where it belongs. And not just giving the pistol back, but giving over the task force you built and breathed and burned for. Despite the fact he's "rotted" as a POW for five years.
Good to have the Captain back in command. Best demotion imaginable.
Just say you missed him.
So yeah, was happy to follow Price and Roach over the net. Not just because it meant I was far from the mutts, but because I got to listen to the two of them working together, like we once did.
Just say you missed him.
There was that same options: Take out the target or let themHIM pass. Nice to hear Price taking Roach under his wing. Know the effect it can have.
Yeah, the effect of a lifetime of devotion, but you aren't any man and Roach isn't you.
Soon as Price went dark; right then, knew it was bad. Didn't need Ghost screaming over the net to realize it. Spoke to Price afterwards. Man knows something about the greater good.
And what if he hadn't appeased you? What was it you called Roach? Loyal to a fault.
Then you lose Ghost and Roach. You can't even keep your hand steady as you curse Shepherd on the pages. And the part of you that you protected through Roach is lost too.
And here it is, the crux of it.
Saved again. How many times now, I've lost count. Don't mean I've lost track. The questions are hard. How do I repay his debt? How many times times can a man save your life until it's no longer your own? But the answer's easy. At least to me. LOYALTY doesn't operate on a sliding scale. It's a safety. ON OR OFF.
You belong to Price. You've belonged to Price since Bering Strait. There is no off. You remained loyal even when Price was dead. You carried him with you every single day. He's your master. You're his dog.
No more drawings of Price, not even a mention of him beyond tactics. You used to find echos of him in everything and everyone. You aren't the sergeant, you can't be. The sergeant is KIA. You are the captain.
Here on out, we're for just one thing: Redemption.
The end is in sight. Shepherd took the task force you'd built and tarnished every operator's name. Your men, under your watch. The ones you'd give yourself to protect. Yourself is exactly what it costs. Redemption can only be granted to the dead if you succeed.
And then the final page, the epitaph written by Price from "The Golden Journey to Samarkand".
"We are the pilgrims, master: we shall go. Always a little further: it may be Beyond that last blue mountain barred with snow, Across that angry or that glimmering sea,"
Once your name is clean, John "Soap" MacTavish will join the others KIA, engraved on the clocktower in Hereford. Until then, Price will hold the last tangible piece of you, just as you did for him.

Pedro Pascal Fandom Bingo (+ April Reading Roundup)
@burntheedges is a genius and the creation of this bingo game is proof! I love how this has been encouraging me to reach out to people and broaden my reading, Kate. I'm posting this even though I'm late to the party because it's also helping me realise that I was actually quite active this past month even though I've been feeling down about not being as engaged! Here’s to an eventual board blackout. 🥂✨
I definitely did not plan to somehow fill so many squares without getting a bingo, it’s kinda wild. 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
Spaces I’ve Marked So Far (as of 30 April)
This is just turning into my roundup of April reading because I couldn't handle leaving out any of the wonderful things I read this month!
I’ve tried to provide a super brief summary of each fic as a taster (obvs more info is provided by the author on each fic’s actual page). If you’re an author whose work is listed here and feel I’ve misrepresented your fic, let me know and I can change the little blurb/status! <3
List is alpha sorted by character then by author.
✅ Read and reblog a character that needs more love - Ben (my first!) visiting - @ladamedusoif - chaptered (ongoing) > Art history professor Lydia takes a visiting post that leads her to meet a certain lit professor, Ben Morales.
✅ Read and reblog a Dieter fic: park - burntheedges - oneshot > Reader encounters a snoozing Dieter in the park Recovery Road - @chronically-ghosted - chaptered (complete) > An epic-length tale of an ill-fated affair between actors (and their better-timed second chance at love). ✅ Create & share a rec list: discovering lit through fic ✅ Send 3 people a fun ask: I passed this ask meme along! ✅ Send an ask to 3 people you never have before
The pie and bar charts are stowed away this month since I've got this bingo graphic instead, but for my own number-loving brain: In April, I read 320k words from 19 distinct works written by 14 authors. I made 47 comments across tumblr and ao3 (~13k words).

I did just ask this to @altocat but what do you think would happen if Genesis got hypothermia or *somehow* hyperthermia??
funny answer:
*Genesis with hyperthermia laying on a gurney, can't open his eyes, blood pressure lower than his dignity, can't even move a muscle*
Genesis: So basically I'm too hot—
Angeal: YOU'RE DYING SHUT UP
sad answer:
• The trio goes on a mission to somewhere cold like Modeoheim, Icicle or near Nibelheim.
• The helicopter crashes and leaves them stranded in the middle of nowhere until rescue comes
• Sephiroth is resistant to the extreme temperature due to his JENOVA cells, Angeal takes the cold as any other SOLDIER would but is otherwise fine, Genesis is canonically the sickly victorian child.
• He went missing after the crash and they found him unconscious and freezing.
• Things go south very quickly.
• They're doing everything they can to keep him warm, using firaga after firaga to melt the ice and stave off the cold. Nothing helps and Genesis won't wake up.
• They realize he's reached stage 4 of hypothermia (apparent death)
• Rescue comes and they're taken back to Midgar immediately. Genesis is being treated on the flight but things aren't looking so good.
• Angeal is a wreck. He's praying hard and clutching Genesis's soggy copy of LOVELESS that he had found in the snow.
• Sephiroth is either unresponsive or frantically trying to help. He has to be sedated before they reach the continent.
• They reach HQ and Genesis is immediately taken away to the medical wing.
• Hollander probably knows what's fated to happen and is trying to insert himself in Genesis's treatment.
• Angeal and Sephiroth barely get any news back for 2 weeks. Both of them are anxious.
• Hollander finally calls for them. He says Genesis will need a transfusion.
• Sephiroth offers, but sadly he isn't viable.
• Two more weeks pass. Radio Silence.
• One morning Angeal and Sephiroth walk into the SOLDIER conference room for their daily morning briefing.
• There's Genesis sat in one of the swivel chairs, reading a copy of LOVELESS and clutching a Banora White just a bit too tightly.
• He looks different. He's alive, but his skin has lost its prior radiance and his smile is uncanny enough for Sephiroth to feel uncomfortable.
• "Good morning," Genesis says, snapping his book shut. "Have either of you heard the news? Something about a mission in Wutai?"

Good evening in advance, thank you for reading the ideas. 1. I've been thinking about a story where Buck and Tommy are in a relationship and about to move in together. But Eddie is questioning his sexuality, one night he is drunk or maybe training with Tommy and kisses him, Eddie apologizes and Tommy tells him that for the sake of his friendship with Buck he is not going to tell him about the kiss. But as fate would have it, someone (maybe Kim or Marisol) takes a photo of them and sends it to Buck, who in his insecurity creates a whole story in his head about how all this time Tommy and Eddie have been in a relationship with each other. backs. Buck goes to Bobby and Athena to cry and tell them about Tommy and Eddie's relationship, at first they don't believe it but Buck shows them the photo, they try to calm him down, but at that moment Tommy calls to find out where he had gone. Buck yells at her, and sends her the photo asking her how long he and Eddie had been cheating on him, how many times she had slept with him after being with Eddie. Tommy tries to explain, but Buck doesn't listen and hangs up. Buck asks Bobby for a transfer or a vacation to clear his head and rebuild the pieces of his heart since he sold his loft and has nowhere to go. Before leaving, Eddie goes to talk to him, Buck doesn't listen, tells him to save his excuses, throws him the key to the house he shares with Tommy while telling him to "be very happy and enjoy it." Eddie tries to grab him, but Buck struggles and maybe falls down the stairs. or they are on the street and a car hits them. or maybe you manage to get into your jeep and get into a car accident that causes a coma or amnesia. or leave Los Angeles, while Tommy looks for him like crazy until he finds him, forces him to listen to him, and they fix everything. Or it could be Tommy's ex-boyfriend instead of Eddie. Something very dramatic but with a happy ending for Buck and Tommy. PS: I've thought about it a lot since I saw that Eddie is capable of something as horrible as infidelity, but I don't know how to make a story myself, so if anyone likes the idea, feel free to use it. 🙂🙂 2.Maybe a story about sugar daddy and sugar baby or something with the theme of dominants and submissives as soulmates or something like that. 3. Or I've also been thinking about the world of sentinels and guides
Okay #1 definitely has me intrigued. Adding this to my list of things needing to be written. (I've got like 5 half-finished chapters right now begging me to finish them 😂😂😂😂)
#2 would be great in the right hands. have you read Million Dollar Baby? I feel like that story did it really well! Also I know that @evanbi-ckley is working on a dom/sub story that I'm super excited for. I have ideas (as in, general concepts, nothing further), but nothing currently on my list of to-be-written. As it is, i already have Spare Parts and the Unnamed Helicopter Crash fic that both are waiting for me to finish one of my current projects so that they can slot in. #3 ... I know zero about sentinels and guides? Someone who does should jump on it though! Original concepts are fucking hard to come by (its why I try to avoid throwing my hat in on popular tropes until I have my own version!).

Fyodor's Last Words in Bungou Stray Dogs
Hello! I know I've been saying I was gonna do this for a long time, and I really did try to find my notes quickly, but I'm here now. This post is meant as a Religious Studies Analysis. As such I would like to state that I was a dual major in Religious Studies and History to qualify myself for this discussion.
I am also going to be writing this post for accessibility, that is to say I am going to assume the reader has little to no knowledge about the New Testament so I will be explaining or giving context to a lot of things, even things that may seem obvious.
What Were Fyodor's Words?
Tumblr media
Eli, Eli, Lema Sabachtani which as I'm sure you know is the Arameic version of Christ's cry to God as he was on the Cross in the Book of Matthew. The Book of Matthew is one of the four gospels in the New Testament. The Gospels (which translates to Good News) tell the life story of Jesus.
In the King James Version of the Bible these words are said, "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46)
A disclaimer, I am using the King James Version of the Bible for its importance to the English Language. If you want to see Matthew 27:46 translated differently please check Bible Gateway.
The Significance of Matthew 27:46
Let's talk about the context of Matthew 27:46. Now, this line comes during the Crucifixion of Jesus. This was the ninth hour of Jesus being on the cross, or around 3 in the afternoon, and is said following a period of darkness from noon to three.
Now many scholars and theologians have tried to understand why Jesus would have said God had forsaken him, and this is the same for Fyodor too.
However, I would like to talk about Matthew 27:46 in the context of prophecy. Now, for many Christian scholars the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) contain several prophecies which Jesus later fulfills. In Psalms 22:1 "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" is said once again. Therefore, a popular interpretation of Matthew 27:46 is that Jesus is emphasizing how his death and eventual resurrection were all proclaimed long ago and fated to happen.
In short: the quote illustrates the prophetic nature of Jesus and how he is the Messiah.
And How Does Fyodor Connect?
Well, I believe that Fyodor's last words were a warning. A warning to Dazai that Fyodor knew he would "die" and come back, just as Jesus did when he said it on the cross. Maybe he planned this all out or views his life as some sort of prophecy to eliminate all ability users.
If we take the quote and apply the Psalms connection to it, it becomes evident that the "sacrifice" Fyodor took was fated to happen and he knew it. He knew he was going to come back, he possibly knew this was going to happen.
Moreover, this quote may also have something to do with his resurrection. Later in Matthew (Matthew 27:50-53), Jesus calls out and an earthquake happens, "and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose." (Matthew 27:52). Right after Jesus calls out to God, the saints rise from the dead and go to heaven. The quote is intimately tied with resurrection, and I don't think that's a coincidence that Fyodor said it and then comes back. I think Asagiri took this into consideration too.
Most people would think that "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" would be a plea of a man caught in a trap with no way out. But, this interpretation does not make sense with Fyodor or his "death". Therefore, understanding Matthew 27:46 has both a line connected with the resurrection of saints and prophecy is crucial to understanding why Fyodor said it during the helicopter crash. He knew he was coming back. I think it was a warning and to illustrate how "ordained by God" his mission is. There's probably more context to add, but it's late and I am sleepy now.
I know this all kinda confirms what we already know, but I think it really illustrates the depth of Fyodor's planning and that he might have known how Mersault was going to go the whole time. Which is terrifying if you think about it.
As always feel free to add things, ask questions, etc. If you disagree just keep it civil. There's probably some things manga wise I didn't add so if you have things to add please do.

Prompt: Peter was in the caves
Words: 455 - CW: Mild Swearing / Plane Crashes / The Caves from Iron Man 1
When Tony Stark had gone to that weapons demonstration he hadn’t expected to be taken hostage. Well- he wouldn’t say that. Kidnapping was always a possibility in the controversial celebrity’s life but he was a genius with a security team and literal hoards of weapons, it was safe to say that he may have gotten a little overconfident with his galavanting.
What he also didn’t expect was Yinsen. And certainly not Peter.
Peter. The kid. The innocent kid.
The kid had been travelling with his Uncle to India for his Uncle’s job. They had taken several layovers to save on cost but had… gone down over Afganastan, directly into the Ten Rings’ territory.
Peter had said that there had been other people with him when they were found but they had no idea where they were now. Would Tony be an asshole for saying he didn’t care? It felt selfish to say but Peter was there. Peter was there, safe with Tony and he couldn’t bring himself to care much about anything else.
That was the other thing he didn’t expect. Emotional development. Even just thinking of the term in relation to himself made him a little queasy. He had spent years creating and maintaining the perfect persona even around people like Pepper and Rhodey. It was safe, predictable and something that Tony could always fall back on.
Then in strolls this stupid genius kid with brains that even younger Tony would have been envious of but with a wide toothy grin, eyes that shone in the darkness of the caves and cheeks that glowed all rosey with any kind of emotion. The kid was sassy, kind, smart and pure. The kind of pure that let him melt a door straight through the iron walls surrounding Tony’s heart, nestling in and setting up a permanent home right at the core of his soul.
The idea should have probably been scary but it all happened so fast, the kid was there to stay and Tony wouldn’t have it any other way.
They had to get out of there.
Peter had been attached to the iron suit in what was like a makeshift armoured backpack and then wrapped in the old ratty blanket that he had slept under. It worked perfectly to keep the sensitive kid out of the sun and sand despite the two day walk. Peter kept the scraps and minimal amount of water they’d stashed safe until that fateful moment the helicopter’s cooling shadow descended atop them.
If Rhodey was shocked to see Peter then he didn’t show it. That was until later when the realisation dawned on the world.
Peter was there to stay and the world was all the better for it.
