the thing about buddie is that they're genuinely just so? cute?? like. they're best friends who never fight unless they're missing each other. they tried out hating each other for two shifts before they unequivocally settled on adoring each other every day for the rest of their lives instead. first order of business in their friendship was both asking 'please take care of me' and then they both said Okay ❤️ yay ❤️. buck pulls sick pranks on eddie by buying him expensive things he'd never get for himself. eddie physically can't look at buck without his whole face lighting up. buck is comfortable enough in eddie's house to never feel like a guest. eddie still deserves pretty things though so he's gonna decorate a whole basket of pastries especially for him. eddie learns to cook and the first person he wants to show off to after his son is buck. they get excited about wearing matching outfits. if buck wants to do something stupid eddies obviously gonna do it with him but he's gonna bitch about it. they work 60 hours a week then take turns spending the day at each other's house during their days off and just to be safe when they do have to be somewhere alone they facetime. they'll get wasted at a party with twenty other people including drag queens and they'll still only hang out with each other. if someone invites them somewhere they can expect the other person to come too. they make me SICK

Reading shit comics kind of sucks but at least I get the satisfaction of proving my own point w this
#like damn if i really was 100% right about this before i even knew what i was talking about#anyways one of the many many problems with new 52 wonder woman is the fact that diana isnt religious enough#also that azzarello and chiang are incapable of imagining a feminist utopia which is the original genre that wonder woman comics were based#in in the same way that batman for example is connected to the noir genre. and the mythological aspects of the og wonder woman comics were#in fact a common framing aspect of the feminist utopia genre of the progressive era (with many of the deeper greek mythology aspects being#established as the foremost ww genre later on)#anyways this failure to understand this layering of genres in the ww mythology i believe is the principle contributor of why this run which#is popular with many and has such a footprint in other more mainstream media is hated by so many longtime wonder woman fans in that it not#only neglects but actively goes against key parts of her premise#a comparison could be made to a superman run that is heavily based in science fiction and exploring deep sci fi genre plots without any#understanding by the creators of why it matters that superman is champion of the oppressed and disrespecting that core part of him by in#some ways making him actually go against that in service of the high sci fi genre plots and conflict#and then ofc to translate better in this reality this run would function like a can of worms in that while dc in comics would eventually#course correct back to the base version the public opinion would become divided and especially adaptations would need all the canon changes#from that run torn viciously out of their hands bc they refuse to LET IT GO#anyways yeah teehee i swore to someone id never read it but i needed it for fic research purposes unfortunately so i started it. only read 6#issues but meh. first one wasnt terrible tbh id read worse but after that i got much more unhappy#anyways they simply dont understand why people like the amazons or why people should like the amazons. which again is like half the freaking#point bc like. feminist utopia genre. but i digress#its bad but its bad in a way that proves me right about why its bad so at least theres that#someday when i post my rebirth ww fic ill post the analysis of nu52 ww and the comparison to the beat movement/ginsberg that ive got in my#drafts. finally get that A in comic book literary analysis#blah

World Building Pt.4: Actual 'world' building
So obviously we know that most of the towns and cities in the shows don’t really exist. However, some of them have stated specific regions and states where they are set such as Mighty Med taking place in Philadelphia, PA. As for the others such as Swellview I did a little sleuthing to figure out roughly where each of these take place based on little things mentioned in canon and weather patterns.
The Lab Rats home of Mission Creek is another easy one because they at one point it is stated that it’s in California. I’m not stopping there though, personally I believe it takes place in SoCal near Orange County. Which given the climate it would make sense that the Bionic Island is just off the coast in Baja California. This would also mean that Tasha and Leo, assuming they arn’t transplants, would use SoCal slang. However, I don’t believe the trio would necessarily have Cali accents. Maybe Bree would to fit in more, but after living so long detached from society I believe that Adam having only really heard Donald for the longest time would share his accent for the most part and Chase probably dosen’t have a definable accent. He has a computer in his brain and access to every bit of slang/inflection that has ever been recorded. So he probably dosen’t speak with much of one. He might have picked up more Cali slang and gestures from his time with Leo, but I doubt he uses them unless specifically talking to Tasha or Leo.
It isn’t ever brought up were Centium City resides, but based on the fact that it appears a lot colder and is the home town of both the Davenport brothers and Principle Perry. I believe that Centium City is in the state New Jersey. Perry has a lot of stereotypical qualities(I apologize to anyone from NJ, I’ve never been and all I have is media for examples) that kinda makes me think that she would be from there. Also could you please imagine Perry, Donald, and Douglas with Jersey accents. Incredible. I think that the brothers have probably lost a good bit of there accents from time away, but whenever they are near each other or are particularly emotional the accents come out in full force. Otherwise Donald probably dosen’t have a very definable accent due to all his traveling and working with a wide array of people, and Douglas probably has nothing but different bits of mixed up slang due to his colorful environment.
Henry Danger/Danger Force were a bit difficult until I rewatched the Game Shakers x Henry Danger crossover special. While discussing places to go Kenzie brings up Swellview and states that its in ‘The Heart of America’. While many states can try to claim that they are the heart of the country, the only one that is usually agreed upon is Kansas. Climate wise it also makes sense as swellview has shown to be rather windy and Kansas in right within Tornado Alley. This means that Swellviews hilariously named neighboring towns also take place in Kansas. All the characters (with the exception of Schwoz) would also use more Kansan slang as all of them have stated to have lived in the area their whole lives. Which leads me to bring up Dystopia where the original Danger Crew moved to after S5. All we know about Dystopia is that its really dangerous and kinda nearby as Henry seems willing to get there without the use of Miles’s powers. Now for this I looked up where the most dangerous cities in America were and I’m so sorry Missouri but you guys have several cities in the top 10 list. It is also right next-door to Kansas.
Like HD/DF the Thundermans home of Hiddenville doesn’t have a named state. It also appears to have a fairly neutral environment. Initially I was thinking of Tennessee but all things considered there’s a distinct lack of countryisms (I know not all Tennessee is county music and farm life but it still dosen’t quit fit). Then I was thinking Washington due to the ‘Land of 1,000 parks’ bit(According to google Seattle, WA has 874 parks), but theres a lack of mountain ranges. However, it’s the closest I’ve got to a real answer so I’m sticking to it until I find more evidence. Even if Hiddenville is in Washington, I don’t think any of the Thundermans(with maybe the exception of Chloe) would have any slang or dialect from there. The family transplanted more than likely from a different state to go into hiding. Given that Metroberg is basically the Capitol of all USA Supers, I think it would probably also be in Virginia nearby D.C. Meaning the family would have similar accents and mannerisms to Virginians. At least in the beginning, later on the kids probably adopt the slang of those nearby.
Finally Villains of Valley View. It’s already mentioned in the show that Valley View is in Texas, but like the Thundermans the Madden family is also transplanted and on the run/in hiding. While it’s never truly stated where they came from we can infer from some details. Eva has a very noticeable British accent so she probably moved to the US as a young adult. I don’t know what it is but for some reason Vic gives me NorCal vibes specifically Sacramento, CA. I have no clue why but he does. I imagine that after they unofficially wed(they couldn’t legally get married as wanted criminals) Vic and Eva moved to the Bay Area where they did some villainy and started their family. I don’t have a name for the town/city where they grew up yet, but I am absolutely accepting suggestions.

Whoaaaa holy shit something just snapped into place reading you mention the concept of creating a shape of negative space bc i've been thinking so long abt the "unspoken things/quiet part" of characters. I've often had this feeling that fandom will go a million and nine yards to red string board an ocean of depth for their favorite blorbo over.... what comes down to what's technically extrapolating based off of xyz canon, but said canon will be like "this character fidgets once, half his dialogue is quoting an in-universe play he tries to recreate (by ruining ppl's lives), and he doesn't understand why someone wouldn't want to be called a monster, therefore he is AUTISTIC and that drives his logic," or "this character has xyz vague background and is TRAUMATIZED because of WAR" inventing an entire character and it's like. Oh boy. This might be a matter of not being invested enough in these characters to TRY and delve so "deep" but I keep thinking that none of this is actually. written or feels purposeful in the context of How Storytelling Works/the Narrative to MAKE me invest or think that it's worth doing so. I always wonder how many people are trying so hard to project a better story onto something without understanding that the story actually needs to BE THERE and ADDRESSED, even subtly, and token moments aren't enough. But then that gets me thinking about how Thereness needs to exist for something to be subtle but written as opposed to Conspiracy off loose projection.
I was kinda thinking abt Laudna and how to use her as an example, because she's one of those characters for whom like, yeah I as a person totally understand the cycle of being upbeat and normal and everything and then having a random spiral of Bad Upstairs before being normal again, but narratively how do you portray that and why does everyone do it so much better than her. With equal screentime, everyone feels like they have so much more meat to their motivations and psychology despite some being significantly less fraught backstory wise. What's happening here because things just feel like they come out of nowhere with her with "oh so that matters all of a sudden?"
Hi anon,
Yes to all of this! With regards to your first paragraph - I feel that a lot too. It's a tricky situation because I think it's completely valid to project things onto characters and imagine them to have specific qualities that either you have or simply that you wish to see in fiction. It only becomes difficult in a fandom sphere when people insist that this is a fully evidence-based endeavor and not a personal interpretation (especially because a lot of that evidence is, as you say, either very much open to interpretation, or else totally spurious. The number of times I've had to shoo people off my posts for talking extensively about how an immensely self-absorbed character who never thinks about others unless forced to clearly has ADHD...but I digress). And as for the conspiracy element, especially when works aren't as good - absolutely. If you haven't read this, which I reblogged a few weeks ago (has Good Omens 2 spoilers) I highly recommend you do because what you're saying resonates a lot with OP's post, both in terms of our need as fans to project or find similarities with characters, and the fact that when people are disappointed by a work sometimes they try to create a better one, but instead of just writing fanfiction and calling it fanfiction they go full conspiracy theorist and assume there's some secret twist, and fall so hard into that all-crumbs-no-schnitzel (to borrow a metaphor from that post) fanon echo chamber they forget it is, in fact, only fanon.
Which brings us to Laudna. Before I go deeper I want to cover three things. First: for me at least, this criticism comes because I know Marisha is capable of doing this negative space work. It didn't come up much with Keyleth since we kind of knew her whole deal very early (which, to be clear, is valid; not every character needs this), but it's present with both Beau (her relationship to her father is masterfully done; the hallmark of good negative space work is that when the reveal comes you say oh of course) and to a lesser extent Patia, who, like all the Calamity characters, conveys a story much greater than the one that unfolds over a single night. Second: I think part of why a number of us in the fandom are so frustrated is that we have been doing that work of generously interpreting Laudna since the beginning, but nothing ever sticks, so it's becoming less and less worth the effort.
I'd have to go back through my archives pretty extensively, but early on, the going expectation for Laudna was that she would explore the idea of being one of the bystanders in a larger story as someone killed simply because of a passing resemblance to someone the Briarwoods wished to send a message to; that we'd get insight into Whitestone during the occupation from someone who wasn't freed by Vox Machina but rather killed, indirectly, because of them. However, not only have we not gotten that, but she also was chosen for being special: Delilah chose her as a vessel because of her inherent sorcery. So then it was perhaps about that tension between finding power in her sorcery vs. warlock levels - Pté seemed like a clear setup for Pact of the Chain, after all - but then Marisha admitted she had no intention of taking that third warlock level, and always just planned to play Laudna as exclusively leveling in sorcerer, until FCG attacked. And meanwhile, there's no exploration of those sorcery powers, either.
Speaking only for myself, I've been interrogating "hey, why is her backstory that she was chased out of everywhere but for the most part everyone is mostly fine with her?" and "in 30 years she did nothing about Delilah? Really?" for quite some time. There's a number of questions that are not just unanswered, but lack the hints that this negative space work would provide. And to be clear there are ways to explain those things! This meta does a good job of talking through why she may have been chased out, and I've floated, in the past, that even Delilah's unwelcome presence was better than the absolute silence of being truly alone. But the work to support these fandom theories, again, is not really being done at the table, and moreover, even if it starts being done...it's episode 70. It should have come up in some capacity.
Marisha said (to be clear, somewhat jokingly) in the 2022 ComicCon panel that "Yeah. I don't want to think anymore. I'm tired," re: Laudna but the thing is...honestly, in my opinion? A character with Laudna's premise requires far more work than Beau or Keyleth to do well. Not only is she tied into one of the most famous events and entwined with one of the most famous villains of Campaign 1, but she's got 50 years of backstory! Beau and Keyleth are in their early 20s! (I could make a whole other post about this but character intelligence does not equal how hard they are to play; Imogen is an immensely tough concept that Laura's doing a good job with and she's lower INT than Laudna. I'd rather play a wizard than a character like Grog any day of the week because I genuinely believe that the acting burden for making a character like Grog sympathetic and believable without going into cheap mockery and parody is immense).
Going back to that statement, it really does feel as though every 4-Sided Dive episode or panel, when Marisha talks about Laudna, it's always just that she was envisioned as being over her trauma, and the premise was always just "make that creepy girl from her nightmare". And even then: it's fine if she'd done that - simply made a creepy character who was here to be creepy and cheerfully macabre - but through gameplay it's become clear that Laudna is not over that trauma (her arrested development being one of many options), and has acquired new traumas to boot, and for that matter never was really over it given that she displays intensely but they come up so inconsistently that there's never any follow-through. I agree with you completely that the idea of her often seeming fine and happy and then having spirals is believable and true to life, but one does need to actually follow through on the spirals - I think a lot of us finally threw up our hands when Laudna's believable, well-played, and justifiable anger and resentment after being thrown across the world away from half the party, essentially pushed into a fight that isn't her own, being betrayed by Bor'Dor, and feeling Delilah's return melted away without resolution. If you want to make a character who's over their trauma and go-with-the-flow, I feel as though step 1 is to not have an eternal reminder of one's trauma permanently stuck in one's head. "Warlock who dislikes their patron" is actually a premise that requires quite a lot of thinking and effort, and we are consistently not seeing it.
I think what's most telling is that the defense of Laudna for the weird freakout this past episode is both vehement, and in conflict with itself. Is Marisha just making a joke (that didn't really land with anyone at the table nor much of the fandom, and was taken at least semi-seriously by both)? Or is it actually great and good that Laudna is incredibly traumatized and clingy and we should all hope she becomes even more clingy and codependent? When even the people who are shielding Laudna from even a whisper of criticism can't agree what Marisha's doing, it's pretty dire, especially when that criticism is "this character feels directionless and incoherent."
So getting back to negative space: It's my hunch that there just...wasn't a lot of clarity to Laudna's motivations, and the questions in her backstory weren't answered. She's creepy and she's kooky, Sun Tree corpse, Delilah in her head, met Imogen two years ago, was friends with a little girl at some point (which we only know from 4-Sided Dive, which is, to be clear, bad that it's never come up in-game). We don't know how she feels about her sorcery powers other than a vague enjoyment of their creepiness...but she also sees them as a way out from Delilah...but she also barely engages with Delilah and hasn't done anything to get rid of her. We have no sense of how she got to "the worst thing that's happened to me already happened" because while it's completely fair to play her as feeling that way 30 years later, I highly doubt she felt that way as she cut herself down from the Sun Tree. So as a result, it's hard to pick a direction because that foundation is lacking.
The thing about that negative space is that to do it well, you really need to know what you're trying to convey. Which is also why, as you say, characters with much simpler backstories are fine; Fearne was basically hanging out at her grandmother's place until EXU and her parents left when she was very young; she is curious about her parents and loves her grandmother and is a chaotic fey entity who was sent into the Material Plane with the Weave Lens, and mostly she just wants to explore and have fun and hang out with her friends. Ashley just needs to...play Fearne like that, which she does with aplomb. The complex setup for Laudna demands a huge number of answers in the backstory, and my guess is that Marisha does not have them. I think the problem isn't with the acting (in fact, I'm fairly confident it isn't, because, again, I know from past characters Marisha can do this); it's that Laudna's concept prioritized the aesthetic, mechanics, and facts of the backstory, and didn't adequately fill in her beliefs and motivations, so she's just flailing. I also suspect from the most recent 4-Sided Dive and the most recent SDCC panel that Marisha is specifically looking for interparty conflict, and to be clear that's valid...but again, to do that believably and well, Laudna's philosophy and motivations and characterization need to be much more clearly established than they are.

Cars 3 Experiments AU
So this AU is based on Cars 3 around the next gen racers and racing centers, basically the racing centers looked like scientific labs to me split the information into different parts enjoy
Part 1 (the theory)
So i noticed alot how rusteze racing center looked crazily like a laboratory and the workers looked kinda like scientists, then i noticed on the sides of the trainees they have numbers and obviously they're colored, yes they have names but we dont acknowledge that yet! These facts kinda made me think "hmm what if they were lab experiments"
Part 2 (the AU scene setting)
The racing centers: So as we know Sterling is very focused on the money hes a very money focused guy, he already had an idea of who he wanted the next rscer to be for rusteze, and the Training center is called a training center thats all canon and it stays
But in this AU the training center is its name as a coverup, the center is a laboratory for experimenting on possible racers to improve, modify and alter them to make them better faster and stronger. Alot of these are pretty bad experiments and of course theyre out through alot of training where cruz used to work, the part lighting was shown was the nicest part of the facility its where the racers would prefer because its the easiest part of their day, the simulator, treadmills, hanging with the nicest worker there (cruz).
There are dorms for the experiments they generally share everything think of it like a backpackers hostel
It can be tough for them and 90% of them didnt even know thats what was gonna happen leading to the next part
Part 3 (The experiments)
Theres mainly 2 types of cars at the racing center the ones who were tricked and the ones who were sold
The tricked
Those who were tricked were the ones who wanted to become racers, they saw advertisements etc inviting inspiring racers to come and train to be taken on by either Rusteze or another company
Some cars who were tricked are
George New-Win
J.D mcpillar
Chase Racelott
Harvey road cap
ronald
Michael rotor
The sold
Some racers were sold, either those who were found on the streets and sold for a bit of cash mainly black market type scrap. Others by their parents it all depends on their situations. Some companies will pay more than others just for more racers to experiment on.
Some Sold racer in this are (all from different companies)
Gabriel
Kurt
Aiden
Flip Dover
Ryan laney
Jackson Storm
Just to name a few
Part 4 (Companies)
So each company of course has their own lab/"training center" except for some one main being Dinoco, Dinoco is a much kinder company, they prefer training properly using skill and not modifying csrs to the extreme other companies like
IGNTR
Rusteze (under sterling)
View Zeen
Vitoline
and many many more
Alot of these companies **Cough** IGNTR & Rusteze **Cough** Will go to the extreme and buy cars from whoever is willing to send them off mainly looking for youngsters from 5-18 as they are much more easier to modify snd experiment with
Alot of the cars have been there most of their life specially those Sold to the companies, these racers were often isolated at young ages or only stuck to specific groups such as their room mates while others only interacted with 1 car besides the scientists one prime example is Jackson Storm
Part 5 (extra info)
Those who were there since theyvwere verg young barely know anything other than the lab, they have very little friends and were often isolated until about 13 to ensure they are properly trained, an example of this is Kurt, Ronald, Gabriel and Aiden, we mainly see them together they all share a room and are often trained together although Aiden is often taken for more experimentation, Kurt and gabriel not so much and ronald more so than the other 2 aswell.
In some instances Trainers and Racers are assigned as a duo and are isolated from other experiments my key example being
Jackson storm and Ray reverham
As Jackson was sold to his company at a young age he was pretty much automatically assigned to Ray
Jackson grew up only knowing Ray he never really developed the proper social skills he needed for the real world leading to his inability to properly make friends at races.
End
Asks are open for questions about the AU! Art to come soon hopefully!!!!

Nrto/Brto for 3 10 & 17?
bro literally the wider naruto fandom sucks so bad idek where to begin
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
i dont have a specific example so instead im gonna give a general gripe about a trend that ive seen in many takes over time
the black and white thinking and refusal to think for half a second about characters other than ur faves Reminds Me Of Something!real ones know. the way people talk about any character with any sort of greyness to their morality kinda makes me crazy and i lowkey think ppl bring up kishimoto TOO MUCH in their discussion of the storys themes bc while obviously like its important to talk abt WHY he wrote it the way he did esp wrt nationalism and all, i think also it sort of dulls ur ability to think anything complex about it if u blame everything u dont like or think was "sloppily done" on kishimoto. judging every character based on kishimoto's morals instead of their own if that makes sense? its not like "the wrong way to do things" i just personally find it really boring when thats the only way youll look at a text. like no wonder you guys are constantly making jokes about how naruto sucks and you'd never recommend it, you wont even allow yourselves to think about the story as its own piece of art beyond just "kishimoto wrote it this way because he sucks" like do you ever think maybe youre killing some of the fun of media analysis... i think its why so many people hate sakura or kakashi or itachi or anyone else. and this always comes out in the way ppl characterize bc theyre like Um I've Fixed Them :) and then its the blandest shit ever because you absolutely refuse to work even slightly WITH the story you claim to love, only fighting tooth and nail against it.
some examples of what i mean w this: basically any conversation about itachi that tries to categorize him as either good or bad. basically any conversation about sakura that tries to do literally anything or nothing with her. people making sns blandly romantic as if the insane and inventive ways they talk about their feelings for each other in canon isnt genuinely part of what makes it so maddeningly fascinating and awesome. anyone who thinks kakashi is a bad teacher. its just this refusal to meet the characters where they are and think of anything in terms of the text itself rather than exclusively in a meta way, ie "this is how it would be if it was good." no its not. you just made it how it would be if it was bland and obvious. dont you literally think the fact that the guy writing it was accidentally writing his characters to be struggling against the same shit that he was struggling against irl and struggling to keep Out of his writing is like. wildly fascinating and part of waht makes the story intersting to pick apart. but ok. this also applies to aspects of boruto primarily sasusaku and naruhina marriages. no one gets it like i doooooo
10. worst part of fanon
everybodys always shipping kakashi with someone and its never even guy. if youre gonna ship kakashi it had better fucking be with guy bc theres gen srs no one else he would be caught dead romancing with and i cant even see how you could read any of his other relationships as romantic. he doesnt even HAVE a relationship with iruka. i get that not every ship has to have canon support but its all either 1) literally not even interesting to think about or 2) what they have actually going on is way more interesting but see my response to question 3. its the same with gaara honestly the more i think about it the more annoyed i get about the ignorance surrounding just-short-of-canon aroace gaara ToT like if u didnt know then ok... but you should learn because its awesome. i just thinking the shipping culture in the fandom is annoying like everyone has to be shipped with someone and that seems to come before their genuinely interesting relationships. and those genuinely interesting relationships are sanded down into something normal. idk this is a gripe that goes w Many Many fandoms but i feel like w naruto its particularly bad largely on account of See Previous Answer. ppl are like "its written this way bc kishimoto is homophobic i will fix this" then they make it suck because shockingly ik kishi actually wrote a good as fuck story if deeply flawed
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
ill be fr i dont gen seek out fics or art independently to be 100% sure that stuff i'd be looking for isn't out there somewhere. but i think ppl really really should just. think about sakura more. i literally love her sm but ppl won't think abt her beyond either 1) she sucks and i hate her (but this is because of kishimoto's writing and has nothing to do with me! if i rewrote naruto then she wouldn't be there 😌 this is a kindness to her and not because i cant be assed to think about a woman for 5 seconds) or 2) girlboss!!!! like.... is that scene in the land of iron not BIBLICAL to anyone else....??? is her devotion to someone she's lost faith in out of loyalty to someone she loves and is losing her ability to understand not FASCINATING???? TO ANYONE ELSE???? IS THE WAY SHE PICKS UP THE TRAITS OF HER TEACHER THAT HE SPECIFICALLY IS NOT MEANING TO PASS ON TO HER NOT HEARTWRENCHING???????? you people suck. instead you write ooc sns over and over and draw kakashi without his mask kissing fucking obito

weewoo!! here i come again!!
when does nebula's dimension take place?? i mean, i know the castle and stuff sorta hints towards medieval times but who knows, maybe nebula's castle is the only castle left in the modern world /j
actually, speaking of castles, have there been any other rulers?? since nebula did lock himself up for like hundreds of thousands of years, i'd assume that other people may have taken the liberty to sort of,,,uh replace him in a way, to make sure people stay in line- or did people just kinda do their own thing without any set rules???? or did nebula sort of influence them from behind the scenes???????
what other mythological creatures are there? we know that vampires exist because of rust, but what about others?? fairies, nymphs, sea serpents, all that good stuff-
and after all that worldbuilding stuff- i kinda wanna see nebula and the gang meet nice eclipse- especially with sun being broken and moon being a workaholic who knows at this point
man this one was extra long
ohhhh lovely lovely questions this round!! i love these all! i shall go down the list uwu
the timeframe for nebula's dimension is very iffy, and also kinda depends on where you're looking! in some places theres more tech, in some places less, it very much depends on the populace (for example: more animatronics in an area? probably a more tech-based area! more magic users? more magic-based!) the world is definitely not modern-day levels, but even if it was, it still wouldn't look too much like it anyway. nebula admittedly always had a soft spot for stories in medieval times, and the time period of the dimension reflects that!
there are in fact other rulers, and other kingdoms! nebula's kingdom is considered, like, the Capital, ever since he came out of his isolation and technically asserted himself over the residents around his depression hut i mean castle. once he showed up and kinda bitch-slapped tf out of their problems, other kingdoms nudged ambassadors and such his way until there was a collective agreement to just Do What The God-King Says. fun fact wars are actually mentioned in chapter 1 of lltk as one of the problems his subjects were facing!
these days, in the modern day of the story, nebula is the only one considered "king" but the title he holds actually also depends on location, and their own languages and stuff. so technically, he can also be called Emperor, and other top dog titles! his kingdom specifically calls him King Sun tho, other kingdom rulers might be considered dukes, duchesses, lords, ladies, etc in the hierarchy, depending on duties and the like.
nebula's initial creation of the world and setup of things definitely influenced everyone while he was busy crying himself to sleep every night.
there are Many types of mythological creatures, from all sorts of mythologies and such! nebula has a large collection of mythology and fantasy stories in his data banks, and as such, bababooey. so theres tons of different species roaming around, like werewolves, griffins, the fae, mermaids, etc etc. due to being inland, nebula's kingdom has eridanus as their only merfolk resident!
should i make lltk a series and include semi-canon stuff like that? little spin off stories that wouldnt rlly fit the main storyline, but still work in the canon (or even noncanon, aus are fun)
anywho i hope this was a satisfying response, i always love your questions!
#long live the king au#sun and moon show#i love worldbuilding questions theyre always so fun#in the unfathomable timeline of ppl actually Wanting to make lltk ocs#heres some content to let you work with!#im so fond of this story <3

And terrifying enough you shit your pants thrice over. Your pretty much on the T with how it all went down. With a small threat added for good measure as you really don't mess with a siren song. Ever since that incident, the DF has taken to reading and researching about sirens as it became clear to them Kafka share a lot of similare traits and habits by these mystic creatures, unaware for a really long time that Kafka is infact a siren that got naturally kaijufied centuries ago.
Until a certain captain and vice-captain of the third came into the picture that is. And your are right that the mom and daughter pair is one of the ones Kafka has saved over the long time he has resided in Japan's shores, twice actually with the mom as she was once saved by Kafka when she too was a kid when she was out fishing with her family. So she don't react the same way as she did in canon as she knows who Kafka is. And yes, a small Karken Kafka doll will indeed look cute.
Kafka is honestly very popular with the public, given theres actual merch to get around the part of the city thats near the sea. Which as anything from clothes to dolls and more to sell for whatever you fancy, theres even a dinner who has a special dish named after Kafka, which he is very unaware of. And being popular with the public adds some much needed protection for him with those who has far more nefarious ideas or wants with Kafka. Aside from the fact it is near impossible to actually hurt or capture Kafka when you don't have DF based weaponry.
Honestly speaking, Kafka was only know through seamen rumors and tales up until the early 1900s, when the DF accidently found out all those tales, rumors and stories are most certainly ture. Most of the time anyways.
Speaking of which. Now I don't think its ever been mention which year or when it actually became what it is today in the main events, but lets just say that around 1910s to 1940s, Kafka was accedently found by a team of DF officers who'd been send on a scouting mission to look out of sea based kaijus.
They where the first to have actual physical proof as they managed to take pictures of Kafka when he saved them from being shipwrecked on many of the unhabited islands found around shores of Japan. Not to mention Kafka was forced to get the small team pretty near one the beaches near the city as well. From there, the DF has kept an eye on the odd kaiju since at a distant as there was many danger back then they did not have solutions for.
In todays DF, they have very specialized equipment made solely to study Kafka and other kaijus that call the sea home. Far more then I think there is in canon honestly, but it is dearly needed as while Kafka acts as a unofficial guardain of sorts, which lessen the kaiju attacks they deal with by a good deal, its in their best interest to know as much as possible.
For example, they did not know of Kafka's unique song and the power it holds over kaijus and the weather for decades, that was only found out when No 6 decided to show up. Kafka did not like that kaiju at all or what it was doing so he levled the playing field by sining a different song that basically counteract 6's ability to make blizzards and personally saved Hikari from death by protecting her from whatever would have killed her in canon. However, the woman is disabled as she lost the ability to walk as Kafka was not able to protect fully given 6 is a very good fight from what we know of in canon.
That don't stop her from being a scary training everyone the force fear and being the one to balance out her husband's more....strict personality. And convinced him that they should adopt one Gen Narumi, giving Kikoru a big brother to play and annoy.
Can only imagine the room when Mina and Soshiro's findings confirm he's an actual siren. I won't be surprised if someone does a double take on other mythology too. There's probably a betting pool about it with the 'Kafka is a siren' side being very happy.
Let's be honest here. Hikari would still be a menace whether disabled or not. In my Regal Bloodsucker AU, she also ends up being disabled after the No. 6 despite GranDracmon!Kafka's aid. Hikari was in the forefront so her escaping death with moderate injuries is less likely.
Considering No.6 can freeze the ocean, Kafka would be pissed to have the kaiju so close. I see him being extra aggressive with threats that can greatly affect his home. Plus considering my personal headcanons about merfolk being petty to litterers, he probably dumped a trash island on someone's boat a few times.
Those 1900s officers' faces when Kafka came to their aid. I wonder how many tried not to faint upon being so close to a being that can swallow them whole. Definitely an experience they'll never forget.
Kafka would probably blush if he ever saw how much merch he has. Maybe use his tentacles to hide himself like the Dumbo Octopus. I see him seeing the plushie at least.

So I hyperfixated on the Octonauts a few days ago, leading to me coming up with a bunch of theories/headcanons. These have only persisted and my obsession with Octonauts has stayed strong so allow me to give y'all some Kwazii headcanons/theories along with my Kwazii designs(theres two versions).
If you don't like it, too bad. This is MY BLOG and I will post WHAT I WANT./lh/j
Ok so Kwazii headcanons/theories! Note that these take into account stuff that happened in Ring of Fire, and that I haven't watched every single episode of both series(the original Octonauts and Octonauts: Above and Beyond) because my stupid siblings were bullying me for watching it >:( Anywho heres the headcanons/theories
Kwazii is trans because fuq you also like probably canon according to everything I see
Kwazii has some of Calico Jacks, his grandfather, features that no one else in his family really has. Those features are the eyes, nose marking, and left leg marking(this is based on the design above). The colors vary but everyone compares him to his granddad.
Kwazii has ADHD no I don't take criticism I have ADHD therefore he does as well.
Kwazii has abandonment issues and can be rather clingy when he isn't putting on a brave face
Besides Captain Barnacles, Tweak was the first member of the Octonauts that Kwazii befriended. They play video games every night and his gold tooth is a cap that Tweak made him. His fang is chipped underneath it
Speaking of which, Kwazii is a night owl. He's always up til like two in the morning, probably getting zoomies
I think Kwazii spent most of his childhood alone. The only family he ever mentions is his grandfather, and his grandfather left when he was a little kitten(as said in the Amazon Adventure episode)
Pan boy poly boy hes dating Shellington and Peso screw y'all
He loves to cook and bake, and he can be seen helping the Vegimals in the kitchen
No one knows why he's so good with kids, considering that as far as anyone knows he's an only child and didn't have other kids in his family(or at least, if he did he never mentioned them) but most children naturally flock to him and he gets real freaking attached to kids when he interacts with them(examples being the baby dolphin episode, Peso's little brother, the baby crocodile, theres probably more but these are the ones off the top of my head)
He looks up to Captain Barnacles alot and often can be seen mimicking his mannerisms
He loves the sea monster stories because they brought him alot of comfort as a child, and made him feel closer to his grandfather. He doesn't always believe them but he wishes they were true
Kwazii has very little concern for his own safety. He would gladly put his life on the line for, anyone really, and is shown to overcome his arachnophobia just so he could help a beetle that was actively being...hostile ig? just a few minutes prior. He doesn't care what happens to him, he only really worries about others
Hes lost some feeling in his tail and his tail healed with a bend in it
Kwazii has had many scars over the years but the one on his ear is interesting because he won't tell anyone how he got it, when he usually tells big extravagant stories for how he got his scars
He makes a habit of remembering everything thats said to him, making sure he can use it in the future(example being when Shellington talked about symbiotic relationships between the crab and the urchin i think? Maybe it was a sea sponge but whatever, and Kwazii brought up that fact in Above and Beyond)
I think he dwells over his mistakes alot. I also think he has nightmares of past incidents, recently being the events of Ring of Fire, and is a fairly light sleeper, so he wakes up to most sudden noises.
I think Kwazii is actually afraid of stuff sometimes(not for his safety reasons but like what it could be) and he pretends to be fearless to be like Captain Barnacles, who seems fearless to everyone around him.
Dashi helped him write a book featuring all the tales of his grandfather
He was always searching for stuff about his grandfather to feel closer to the man he only faintly remembers
I think he joined the Octonauts a bit younger than the others
Most of his possessions he found after joining the Octonauts, and his eyepatch was one of his only possessions he had before joining. Calico Jack gave it to him before joining
Kwazii can't tie a tie
Kwazii developed his arachnophobia as a young kitten, but after Calico Jack left. Its one of the only things he actively shows fearing because hes just that spooked by them.
Kwazii still can't surf
While he will admit to not being good at stuff, he feels the need to be good at everything
Kwazii sings sea shantys to the Vegimals
He has some shark friends who he actively races and they just hang out, usually when he should be sleeping
I think he has a slight fear of fire from what happened in Ring of Fire. And hes way too overly attached to the Gup-B, probably because its gotten him out of alot of life threatening situations(that he wasn't even aware were life threatening because he didn't really care)
Ok thats all if I keep thinking this post will be so long it will count as a novel. Once I draw the others I'll do headcanons and theories for them too! If y'all have suggestions/requests for who I should do next I'll gladly take those too! Also which design do you like better? I like the first one alot but I feel the second looks closer to the source material lol, also should've added eye bags but oh well-

i have been stuck googling how giorno's stand works for 2 weeks help me what is happening
GJDBGJDBFJD ILL DO WHAT I CAN-
So Giorno’s Stand has a few aspects, but the base ability and the most important one is the power to turn non-living things in living ones. Anything that is either not alive or dead can be changed into seemingly any plant, animal, or other living thing that Giorno knows about at will without too many limitations. As I mentioned before, he’s not held back by the Law of Conservation of Mass. It’s unclear how much control Giorno has over the animals he makes, but he can control how the plants grow and how quickly. Objects he’s turned will also naturally seek out their “source.” For example, when he turned Narancia’s shoe into a fly, the fly started going back to where Narancia was even though Giorno didn’t know his location
There’s also the fact that all his creations have a damage reflection for defense, which essentially takes any attack done onto them and flips the damage back on the attacker, however it is inconsistent at best so we’re just going to brush over that-
He can also make parts of living things, for example when he “heals” people he just makes the parts of the tissue that were damaged, or during the Baby Face fight he recreated the parts of his body that Baby Face had removed. However as Giorno points out in canon, it isn’t true healing like Crazy Diamond where it erases the wound, instead it just fills in the pieces. He also has a much stricter time frame of which he can help someone before the point of no return. This means it is VERY possible for people to die even after he helps them, see: Bucciarati and Narancia
Theres also another aspect of his ability. Remember how I mentioned that he can only turn living things? Wellllll Golden Experience’s power still has an affect when used on living things, being gving the living object a BUNCH of energy. We’ve only ever seen it used in a single fight early on and on a human, but the human in question experienced what could only be called an out of body experience. He became hyper aware of the word around him, perceiving everything at a significantly quicker rate, however his body couldn’t keep up leaving him vulnerable to attack. This hyper awareness also affected his other senses, like touch. When Giorno punched him with Golden Experience, not only was it more painful but from his perspective the pain lasted longer too
And then there’s Golden Experience Requiem which is…… confusing and I still can barely understand it
Officially it has the ability to “nullify the actions and willpower of anyone who opposes it, preventing their actions from becoming reality” but I just think of its ability being the power of Ņ̴̧̮̜̱͐́̚ ̵̝̪̉̃͘O̵̢̥͖̪̓̃̓

do you think every disabled character in wc is handled poorly? i understand theres def some cases of ableism but at the same time when i hear ppl say that its usually bc the disabled cat wasnt able to become a warrior due to their disability. and i feel like ppl forget, that not everyone irl CAN do what they want after they become disabled. ex. someone wants to be an athlete, but their legs have to be amputated. a cat like briarlight esp i feel is p realistic and could be a source of comfort
Hello there, thank you for writing in. I’m going to reply to this question with a series of questions I think are a bit more useful, given what you’re trying to ask me. I hope that’ll clarify what is a deeply complex, multilayered issue.
Do I think Erin Hunter handles anything in the series “well”? Not really. I don’t have a high opinion of the work of the collective and, broadly speaking, I think every right note they play, metaphorically speaking, is an instance of chance rather than effort, skill, or intention. Stopped clocks are right twice a day, mediocre writers will sometimes do something cool by accident, similar principle. That’s not to say Erin Hunter hasn’t ever done anything on purpose--just that overall the underlying drive of the series isn’t so much quality as it is quantity, and speed of production, and it shows.
Do I think Erin Hunter puts any significant research into how they portray disability? No. I do not think it is a priority for this series. They’re not trying to make a meaningful work of literature, or capture a realistic experience of disability, or tell especially impactful or thoughtful stories, or even make a particularly good or coherent fantasy world. Warriors is a specifically commercial product that was commissioned by HarperCollins to appeal to a particular demographic of drama-loving, cat-loving kids. It’s not really trying to do anything but sell books, because it’s a business, so the text in many ways reflects that. They’re not going for disability representation, in my opinion. They’re including disability in many cases as a plot-point or an obstacle.
Do I think this means that people can’t connect to these characters and narratives in meaningful ways? No. Often I say that a work is completed only when it is read. Before that point, it doesn’t have a meaning: a reader finishes the work through the act of reading, and interpretation, and filling in the spaces and resonance of the story with their own values and experiences. When people talk about subjectivity, this is what they are talking about. What this means in the context of disabled characters in Warriors is that these characters and their stories can be multiple, conflicting, even mutually exclusive things at the same time, to different people, for different reasons.
Do I think characters have to be “good” to be significant to someone? No. I think genuinely “bad” (i.e., not researched or poorly researched, cliche, thoughtlessly written, problematic, etc. etc.) characters can be deeply meaningful, and often are. Ditto above: for many people, and especially marginalised or stigmatised people, reading is almost always an act of translation, wherein the person is reading against the creative work of the dominant culture in a way that the author likely didn’t intend or didn’t even imagine. There’s a long documented history of this in queer culture, but it’s true for just about everyone who is rarely (or unfairly) represented in media. Disabled people often have to read deeply imperfect works of fiction featuring disability and reinterpret them in the process--whether to relate to a kind of disability they don’t experience themselves but which is the closest they’re offered to something familiar, or to turn positive and meaningful what is intended as narrative punishment, or simply to create what’s commonly called headcanon about “non-disabled” characters who echo their personal experiences.
Do I think everyone has to agree? Extremely no. As I said before, people will actually always disagree, because all people have different needs and different experiences. What can be interpreted as empowering to one person might be very othering and painful for another. There is no “right” answer, because, again, that is how subjectivity works. This is especially true because marginalised communities are often many different kinds of people with different lives and needs brought together over a trait or traits they share due to the need for solidarity as protection and power--but only in a broad sense. It’s why there is often intracommunity fighting over representation: there isn’t enough, there’s only scraps, and so each person’s personal interpretation can feel threatening to people whose needs are different. You can see examples of this especially when it comes to arguments over character sexuality: a queer female character might be interpreted as bisexual by bisexual people who relate to her and want her to be, while being interpreted as lesbian by lesbians who also relate to her and want her to be like them. Who is correct? Often these different interpretations based on different needs are presented as if one interpretation is theft from the other, when in fact the situation is indicative of the huge dearth of options for queer people. It becomes increasingly more intense when it comes to “canon” representations, because of the long history of having to read against the grain I mentioned above: there’s novelty and, for some people, validation in “canon” certainty. And again, all of this is also true for disabled people and other stigmatised groups.
Do I think this is a problem? Not exactly. It is what it is. It is the expected effect of the circumstances. Enforced scarcity creates both the need for community organising and solidarity and the oppressive pressure to prioritise one’s self first and leave everyone else in the dust (or else it might happen to you). The system will always pit suppressed people against each other constantly, because it actively benefits from intracommunity fighting. Who needs enemies when you have friends like these, and so on. A solution is absolutely for everyone in community to hold space for these different needs and values, and to uplift and support despite these differences, but it’s not anyone’s fault for feeling threatened or upset when you don’t have much and feel like the thing that you do have is being taken away. It’s a normal, if not really helpful, human response. But until people learn and internalised that the media is multifaceted and able to be many things at once, without any of those things being untrue or impacting your truth of the text, then there will be fighting.
Do I think my opinion on disability on Warriors is all that important? No, not really. I can relate to some characters in some moment through that translation, but my opinion on, say, Jayfeather is nowhere near as worthy of consideration than that of someone who is blind. I don’t have that experience and it’s not something I can bring meaningful thinking about, really. That’s true for all these characters. If you want to learn about disability, prioritise reading work about disabled rights and activism that is done by disabled people, and literary criticism from disabled people. And as I mentioned above, remember that community isn’t a monolith: it’s a survival tactic, that brings together many different people with disparate experiences of the world. So research widely.
Finally--do I think there’s only one kind of disabled narrative worth telling? No. For some people, a disabled character achieving a specific, ability-focused dream is a good story. For other people, a story that acknowledges and deals with the realities, and limitations, of disability is a good story. The same person might want both of those stories at different times, depending on their mood. That’s okay. Sometimes there’s power and delight in a fantasy of overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles and defying all expectations. Sometimes there’s value and catharsis in a narrative that delves into the challenges and grief and oppression experienced because of disability. There’s no one truth.
To round all this off, I’m going to give my favourite example of this, which is Cinderella. I think it’s a great and useful tool, since for many it’s familiar and it’s very simple. Not much happens. In the story, she is bullied and tormented, until a fairy godmother gifts her over several nights with the opportunity to go to a royal ball, where she dances with a prince. The prince eventually is able to find Cinderella, due to a shoe left behind, and they are married. In some versions, the family that mistreated her are killed. In others, they’re forgiven.
Some people hate the story of Cinderella, because she is seen as passive. She tolerates the bullying and never fights back. She does every chore she’s told. She is given an opportunity by a fairy godmother, and she doesn’t help herself go to the ball. She runs from the prince and he does the work to find her again. Eventually, she’s married and the prince, presumably, keeps her in happiness and comfort for the rest of her life.
For some, this story is infuriating, because Cinderella doesn’t “save herself”: she is largely saved by external forces. She is seen as a quintessential damsel-in-distress, and especially for people who have been bullied, infantalised, or made to feel less capable or weak, that can be a real point of personal pain and discomfort.
However, for some others, Cinderella is a figure of strength, because she is able to endure such hostile environments and terrible people and never gives up her gentle nature or her hope. She never becomes cruel, or bitter. She is brave in daring to go outside her tiny, trapped world, and she is brave to let the prince find her. She doesn’t have to fight or struggle to earn her reward of happiness and prove her worth, because she was always deserving of love and kindness. The prince recognises at once, narratively speaking, her goodness and virtue, and stops at nothing to deliver her a better life.
Depending on the version, the wicked family disfigure themselves for their own greed--or are punished, which for some is a revenge fantasy; or Cinderella forgives them and once again shows her tenacious kindness, which for others is a different revenge fantasy.
The point? Cinderella is the same character in the same story, but these are almost unrecognisable readings when you put them side-by-side. Which one is right? Which one is better? In my opinion, those are the wrong questions. I hope this (long, sorry) reply is a set of more useful ones.

ayo! (wait this might be a bit of a jumpscare dishdks i apologize) i’m op of That Post and was wondering what your opinions were on the whole woobification thing? /gen
because it’s a Tiny Bit widespread within the dream apologists to sort of,, overdramatize stuff like l’manberg hurting him. like they’re not a 100% wrong but if you look at it subjectively you can see some sort of bias going into that sort of thing that makes the character’s mistreatment a bit more blatant and intentional which,, it really wasn’t? and there wasn’t That Much of it either. especially on twitter (tumblr is much better about it) people just jump to conclusions it seems and yeah. since you brought it up i was wondering if you wanted to write a bit about it from your perspective!
we’re kinda from different corners of the fandom but i still notice that once you are too attached to a character you start taking certain evidence and giving it more weight than it actually has. there’s a blurry line between “taking away a character’s humanity” and woobification and it’s extremely difficult to find a balance when said character shows pretty much nothing of his emotional life (e. g. putting up the intimidating villain act in front of only c!tommy, pretty much everything he does making rational sense with no emotional subtext) and a lot of the fandom instantly jumps to one side or the other while it’s like.
we don’t know by far enough to say “he’s traumatized” or “he isn’t traumatized” or “he was villainized and it hurt him” or “l’manberg didn’t affect him at all”
as a very analytical person people constantly jumping to conclusions grinds my gears, but that’s about it for my own view of the situation - sorry for the rambling.
in general i agree with you that both dehumanization and woobification is Bad and i really hope getting Actual Context sorts this out (e. g. him saying he was betrayed by his friends doesn’t mean it wasn’t partially his fault or that they were allowed to leave him, but it also shows that he did care about that happening. mentioning the cat doesn’t mean anything about what happened to c!tommy but it also shows that he did care about what happened to it. it’s just always interesting to get more information about the way he feels because he usually does a very good job at hiding it.) because man.
it’s like being stuck between a rock and a hard place, especially if you also are attached to the character and are expected to automatically agree with everything the people on “your side” say. it just ends up with everyone being mad and the character being mischaracterised overall.
oh wow hello! i didnt expect the op of the post to find me you’re right lol
and yes i agree! you seem to have a lot of very good thoughts tbh.
and by woobification, i mean exactly what you’ve already pointed out— the people who will say l’manberg purposely villainized dream, the people who will say wilbur faked his mental illness to manipulate dream, the people who are pretty much always talking about how badly dream was treated by people who were acting only fairly for themselves, usually.
for example people who act like dream was a perfect peacemaker before tommy showed up, or that tommy started most conflict. these are just actual lies that are told by c!dream himself to justify his abuse of tommy, and people fall for them incredibly easily because not a lot of people watched early dsmp and know that truthfully it was chaotic even then, and that dream was chaotic too. not to mention wilbur soot tried very hard to secede peacefully with l’manberg and dream jumped directly into war with no warning. and then people say he was forced into their war when, no, he started it.
theres also people who will say like, dream and sapnap for example are such good friends. i’m sure they cared for each other, but dream on multiple occasions has done horrible things to sapnap with no regard for his feelings (like leading fundy to sapnaps pets during the petwar, leading tommy to sapnaps pets during the other petwar and encouraging him to kill them, handing mars over to tommy to use as leverage against sapnap, etc). george he’s been less awful too but he certainly spoke over him and ignored his feelings enough that george felt hurt. he had places in his hall of attachments for beckerson and mars. george and sapnap were right to walk away from being treated like that.
there’s also what you just said here — “dream puts on a villain persona for tommy”— but honestly he acts like that around quite a few people (example: eret) and it’s usually when he’s revealing crucial info, which leads me and many others to believe that ‘persona’ is actually a more truthful version of him.
there’s the fact that he really isn’t safe for people to be around (or at least he wasn't before the prison) because he was planning to come up with ways to control every single person by stealing and threatening their attachments (some of which were not items but were living animals, or a real breathing person).
and then people will say dream was doing exile to enforce rules, or to keep the peace— when it’s very clear in canon it was a deliberate plan to get tommy on his own and into the prison. (from the way he was framing tommy for multiple crimes, and having sam set up the prison, and kidnapping tommy instead of correctly exiling him, all at the same time).
not even going into how he wants to kill and revive people for fun or make tommy immortal.
it’s just— ignoring all these actual facts and saying “oh he misses his friends, let’s get him some friends now” reminds me of like. when people would put flower crowns on pictures of serial killers. and then, there’s hardly anyone on the server who wasn’t subject to dream’s plans, so there’s absolutely no one i would be okay with him interacting with.
just remembered about the torture thing, and wow i still hate it so much. it’s someone’s sick revenge fantasy twisted into a way to get a manipulative villain sympathy, and it’s just gross to me on every account. i do think dream is traumatized-- just not by l’manberg, which was a conflict he started on his own terms. i would think l’manberg did affect him, because he was scared of losing control.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again— my ideal ending for dream would be for him to be sent far away from dsmp to an island full of therapy animals and super strong therapists who have never met him before. and for him to get a shit ton of therapy until he becomes a halfway normal person. and then eventually he could get integrated into society again; but a different one with new people. (although maybe dteam + bbh + puffy can visit him, they might still like him.)
none of the people on the server (who have all been affected by dream) should be burdened with befriending him or rehabilitating him— look how that turned out with sam! sam had a personal grudge towards dream and it ended with the poor dude being tortured every day; and sam himself falling into corruption and literally cutting off his boyfriends arm. like we can all see thats fucking awful right?
no one who was affected by dream should have to deal with him ever again. and contrary to popular belief, that includes a LOT more people then just tommy. dream isn’t just tommy’s antagonist, hes almost everybody’s.
the only person on the server who might also be able to stand to help dream is techno, and that’s from sheer lack of ability to give a shit. but techno is probably THE furthest thing from a good therapist there is lol, and dream needs better then that.
this kind of just ended up being a rant about my thoughts on c!dream, so im so sorry op. especially since it was probably negative for you. i hope you’re doing very well.
i guess in the end it’s true what you said— people will highlight or ignore things based on what characters they like, and it’s especially easy to do in this fandom, where half the content doesn’t even get watched and then we become a big echo chamber of half-truths.
considering dream has hurt so many of the characters i care about, i almost can’t understand how he could be someone’s favorite or comfort character— but he is nonetheless, and it would be unfair of me to be rude about that.
essentially it just bothers me to see someone who was a perpetrator of accurately portrayed abuse and manipulation (using both those words in their actual definitions, not just as random buzzwords lol) being given the flower crown edit effect. especially since he’s hurt the characters i care about a lot.
ANYWAY all of that being said (this got LONG im so sorry op) i am so so excited to get dream’s pov, because although i disagree with his actions strongly i actually find dream’s character very interesting and cool, and watching his POV is going to insanely fun. i cannot wait to see what theories get confirmed or denied
ALSO incase it wasn’t clear this is all /nm at you! you seem lovely and smart, and neither of us can help what characters we get attached to :]
#c!dream critical#dream meta#og post#hey guys i would actually like some feedback on this one since i worked hard on it#rbs are okay and encouraged :]#my meta

@mettatoniic asked:
robinrobinrobin scuse me, a question for you, honey. I want you to recall those passions for your muse (whoever you feel strongest for, theres no specific order whatsoever) and tell me what about them is so special to you. what do you resonate with? why them? what do you feel when you look at your muse? what's kept you in this side of the community for so long (bc chara and frisk). thank you xoxo
oh gosh okay... i’m very bad at starting thoughts so i’ll just try and word vomit and see what comes of it.
assuming you’re talking about my undertale muses, let’s start with chara. i’ve always been into the chaotic, villainous types so i resonated with their character almost immediately. at the time, back in 2015, i didn’t really understand the concept of a “player” and honestly i didn’t get until deltarune where’s almost literally spelled out for you. so i’ve never vibed with the concept of chara also not being manipulated by the player like frisk, or for a better example, kris -- besides that, i greatly disliked when people disregarded the very base fact that asriel called them “not a very good person”. so from how i saw it, baseline was, chara was a fuckhead. i just took it in the way that they were more villainous than just a little shit.
over time i’ve gotten over myself and i care less about other people’s interpretations, but the one i’ve created will always be mine, no matter what. my chara -- “Callie Lockhart” i dubbed her -- is my creation with a base from a character with very little information on them. worse comes to worst, she’ll just become an oc of mine! that’s basically how i treat her, anyway. FUN FACT: the name callie also stems from a pokemon oc of mine, where cal/lie stands for “Calamity” and i’ve always felt so smart for that connection teehee.
i actually spent a lot of time doing research on how to give her reasoning for her horrific actions, and though i know it’s usually quite frowned upon to do so, it all dates back to irreparable childhood trauma. further than that, she doesn’t want help, so there is absolutely no hope in her becoming a better person. she’s far beyond saving. and i love that: a disgusting villain with horrible intentions, even if they have their “reasonings” for such. besides! i know so many people that are into the idea of their muses being screwed with, and boy howdy i have always been happy to provide. i just want to make people happy, that makes me happy too!
my chara has also gone through a lot of design changes since i started musing her, and gosh i kinda want to show:
these are more or less in chronological order, all of which my art! the first two are most definitely from 2015, the last three being like 2018 probably. then we finally have our current design!:
so she’s definitely gone through a lot of changes, but i’ve loved her the whole way.
REGARDLESS, all of this effort i’ve put into her mixed together has created a love for her that i can simply never forget. so after the fandom started to die off, i kept trying to use her, until ultimately i gave up as my effort output was far too high compared to the enjoyment i got out of it. that’s why i’m so glad i’m able to do her again now!! *grabby hands at everyone* please rp with me....
as for frisk, i actually had no intentions of using them up until a week or two ago. my original chara blog was actually a -- oh god i forgot the term for it, but i made it with my friend who made a frisk? she lost interest pretty quickly though, so i was sorta left on my own. i’m not mad or anything!! (i love u nix) but up until this year, i really disliked the frisk interpretation i made for myself. i guess it also came down to the fact that i’ve never been comfortable roleplaying child muses and i always interpreted them that way.
but i actually finally came up with an idea for them that tied into my chara’s story!! i’m surprised it didn’t come to me sooner, considering i was literally writing a fanfic loosely based on their canon. so now i’m hoping that i can give my frisk the same love and attention i gave chara, even if their ability to be present is far more limited!!
um um uh i can’t think of anything else so here you go!!! if you read this i’ll give you a kiss

The thing i noticed when i look at dabihawks fanart n read through your expiriences with the meta part of the fandom is that a lot of people seem to lean on dabi side of the dabihawks conflict. Like its hawks who has to make changes to earn dabi. Its hawks whos turned it a villain, its hawks who forgives or even thanks dabi for what he did. Actually i dont think ive ever seen art ro read a fic (but to be fair im extremly selective in fic reading) where dabi is the one to apologise and try to earn hawks
N i think this sorta makes sense because for a lot of dabihawks shippers, dabi is probably their favorite out of the two. That also makes sense cuz hes been around longer n has appealing design so it makes sense that people would try and fit hawks around dabis narrative instead of vice versa. They find dabi more likable n more interesting so its his side they want to explore.
I feel that this is completely different for me because hawks is my no 1 best boy. Like before hawks bnha was the kind of show where i would say 'oh i like the characters but none of them are mine fav' like id say shouto, shinsou or jirou were my favs mostly based on aesthetics or recognizing pieces i usually like in characters in them, but those pieces never being strong enough for me to say this is my fav bnha character like id say izaya is my favorite durarara character or ranpo is my favorite bungo stray dogs character. And then bam. Bird Time. Like when i first saw hawks i think the most i thought was 'damn thats a cool design' but as we got more of him he very quickly became the character i loved most and wanted to see more off.
Dabi on the other hand i was never really interested in. Like he was cool n all but overall i didnt really care for him until the touya theory dropped and until dabihawks. For me hes perfectly fine, i dont dislike him or anything but i like him most when hes involved with other characters i like, like Todorokis n Hawks. Like even now after a good while on Dabihawks juice id still stay hes not my fav villain. That would probably be Toga, Geten (as little as we get of him) and honestly mr compress just for being an evil magician i need more mr compress
So the fact that hawks is my fav means that unlike ppl whos fav is dabi i focus more on how can dabi earn hawks. How can dabi get better, would he ask for help, would he quit villainy, would he apologize. And most importantly would hawks accept him back.
Makes me feel like amongst dabihawks shippers theres simply two different streams that would probably get annoyed by each others content n feel like the other is spoiling their fav character.
Like i sure as fuck get annoyed when artists i follow for dabihawks start talking about how hawks should have been a villain n how hawks is actually an evil murderer while the league has a point n is poiting out that the heroes will save only those who dont fight back. No really thats a take i heard, lets just forget muscular, mustard, moonfish, gentle, the yakuza and ALL FOR FUCKING ONE who were all arrested perfectly fine without fighting back. But of course these people dont mean saved as in arrested, forced to rexamin their own behavior and work to be better people, they mean saved as in i want my favs to be coddled and patted on the back and instantly forgiven and even told they were right all along and they are the most special a good. Geeze
I fuckin went off subject so hard this is less of an ask n more of a rant now. The only good thing about seeing all those bad takes is that every time i see one my motivation to write a dabihawks story where dabi faces concequences, and they actually have to hash the whole villain hero ideologies thing out, grows stronger
...I’m sorry, I wanted to answer this sooner but wanted to get the smaller asks out of the way first T-T
But yes! That’s been my experience when it comes to Dabihawks as well. Not many people focus on Hawks side of the conflict and instead tend to make him the agressor in the relationship when they want conflict (it always tends to be Hawks who upsets Dabi for example, or Hawks will say something insensitive towards Dabi or do something that upsets Dabi). Not many people treat them as a pair, they just tend to focus on the Dabi angst more then the Hawks angst or angst experienced by the both of them (I like to call that the Dabias and many people suffer from it in the Dabihawks shipping fandom I’ve found).
I like reading stories like this too, from time to time, but I’m just tired of all the stories or comics or fan art being Hawks the bad person in the relationship with him having to apologise and make it up to Dabi. Especially when in canon it’s Dabi that has treated Hawks pretty terribly (he almost got him killed by lying to him about when he was going to release High End and he almost killed him during the raid, meanwhile Hawks hasn’t anything as horrible towards Dabi except hold him at knife point but that was more for his own protection then to threaten Dabi).
I feel like I’m just bitching because people don’t wrote fanfiction to my specifications but you’d be grumpy too if your favourite character always gets the short end of the stick in work that is supposed to be about the pair of them being a couple.
Also don’t get me started on the stories that make Hawks “see the light” and join Dabi’s side after he maimed him, some even going far as to have him thank Dabi for what he did. It just reeks of the Dabias and I absolutely hate. Let Hawks experience trauma you cowards, especially trauma that we know was caused by the hands of dear old Dabi.
I wish more work would try to reform Dabi as a person instead of having Hawks become a villain (especially because works that usually have Hawks become a villain tend to ignore the horrifying plans the League want to commit or acknowledged them but fool themselves into thinking Hawks would actually be down for all the BS). I think it’s more interesting to see a bad person try to change, it’s why I’ve enjoyed Endeavor’s character arc despite not liking him as a character. Like sure, I don’t mind bastardization arcs too but they have to be done with character I can see it happening too and Hawks isn’t that type of person.
(In fact it’s such an interesting source of conflict that Dabi and Hawks are very resolved people. They’re not likely to change their ways for anything but I don’t really see people explore that even though it’s the perfect source for angst).
I’m so tired of villain stans who wanted Hawks to become evil (and then wanted him to validate their murder favs). I want more stories where Hawks puts his foot down and Dabi realises he wants to be a better person for him (it’s in those stories I could actually see him bonding with his family again too because right now Dabi is a man with no qualms with breaking his family apart for his revenge).
I just wished more people would let Dabi face the consequences of his actions too. Like if you’re going to make Hawks suffer for what he did (even though I roll my eyes at the thought) then Dabi who has done much worse should be suffering ten times over.
Make it make sense.

hi yes please tell me more about a3!! is it a rhythm game bc i am VERY interested in the fact that theres a gnc guy in it but im only really able to dedicate myself to gacha games if theyre rhythm based :pensive:
under cut because i got carried away-------
it’s not rhythm unfortunately 😔 it’s too bad because this series has VERY AMAZING music and they really got their hands on ones of the best (imo) composers in the field (like yuyoyuppe or emon(tes) or hige driver <3) but it’s Sadly just a card collecting game like enstars (i feel you though, i can’t really get into mobage if they’re not rhythm either, it’s a miracle i still play a3 everyday-) :( if you can’t get into the game though, there’s a currently running anime :D it’s very ugly (compared to game art) but <3 i still love it <3 even if it’s not perfect haha
it promotes itself as an otome game but it’s Really not, it’s just a story heavy card collecting game you’re y/n [izumi] tachibana and you take over mankai (jp: full bloom) company after it’s about to be demolished because your father disappeared and failed to pay off the debt; your job is to bring the company back to its former glory as the director (and work as a personal therapist to all of your actors-) i’m sure you’ll like it if you like the found family trope, because the mankai company to everyone there is a place where they belong and feel safe there are 4 troupes in the company, each specializing in different play genre spring: altered versions of known stories (for example: romeo & juliet, the wizard of oz, some original stories following a similar vibe) summer: comedy (slapstick and tons of ad-lib) autumn: action (if there’s no fighting it’s not an autumn play-) winter: mature and serious stories, often tragic
it’s a really cute series that can get kinda serious at times (there are matters of abuse, child neglect, kidnapping+unconsented drug use, and death (off the top of my head) if that makes you uncomfortable)
the writing sure is flawed; masumi (obsessiveness portrayed as cute and funny), citron (making the only (?) character of color the butt of a joke---), how they portray their ND-coded charas like misumi and homare as jokes too, but i still think it’s possible to just ignore those aspects i mean............... not in MY canon-
the gnc guy is yuki rurikawa and he’s my fave <3 he’s a “crossdresser” (i don’t really like that word but that’s what he calls himself) who loves sewing and is the costume designer (aside from being an actor) for the company, he has a cute appearance but a sharp tongue and sassy attitude <3 he’s strong and mature for his age, if he wants something he’ll get it something i really like is that nobody in the company really questions or comments purely negatively about his choice of clothing, which is very refreshing another character that isn’t really gnc but Borderline Could Be is azuma yukishiro, who speaks in a very delicate and feminine manner and is said by some characters to “feel like a woman” <3 yuki even calls him “azu-nee” (big sister azu)
overall, if you don’t check out the game, i at least recommend you checking out the music because it’s honestly one of my favorite things about the series <3 all 24 characters have solo songs, group songs (4 troupes), plus each released play gets 1 to 2 play-themed songs and i think they’re all great (imo better than some idol-franchise music but not calling any names-)
if you need recs; my faves are
more on the rock side: just for myself, muddy hero, the contract, second shot
ballad-like: minority (yuki’s solo song; the lyrics are very lgbt-coded but we don’t get much of it in game), loner, monologue
other genres i can’t quite name??: susume pirates, exciting charmer (PLEASE consider tasuku hatanaka (who voices kumon) i’ve been absolutely obsessed with his vocals), mikansei na sora de, buzama, living the dream, shoutai, scarlet game, kiteretsu poemer (literally a musical masterpiece?? it’s so fun????)
sorry for linking so many but literally every single song in this franchise is amazing????? there’s not ONE song i dislike like how??????
i’m also really sorry for rambling on sajfkhsakfjash i just love a3 a lot 🥺

honestly real talk here. no jokes, only seriousness here. i just... it’s been on my chest for a day now, & i kinda want to say something -- i just don’t know how to articulate it well enough to put it in simple words.
i just.... sometimes wonder about my duplicates. you know? do they ever... like get intimidated by me? are they scared? nervous? or wonder if i’ll ever bat an eye toward them? do they block me? do they blacklist me? i just wonder...
do they think i hate them?
i only say this cause as somebody who struggles from really SEVERE duplicate anxiety myself, i have actually blacklisted/blocked people who have the same muse as me. while (surprisingly) TP!Link is not somebody i am all terrified about having duplicates of, i have ( have had ) muses where i had to say no to alternates. Believe me, link is 1 of the 2 muses where i am actually okay with dupes, which is saying a lot because I am not okay with dupes with my other muses. why?
most of the time I RP muses that are very VERY minor to the fandom or are simply not loved by the fandom ( either in the correct way or at all ). so dupes of an already rare muse to begin with terrifies me. it scares me to think that somebody is copying me. as somebody who’s had entire meta/icons/interactions stolen from me, i get scared. i worry that people take from me cause tehy either admire me, or think that my HCs are the best. please, mimicry is not flattery.... while i understand that some HCs are inherently going to be the same along all spectrums of a particular muse, its different when you take key components of a person’s portrayal and make it your own. which is why im so scared of my other muses -- because many of them are VERY MUCH lore based to begin with due to very little canon in the games/media. that and i had to be honest with myself, i simple just doubt myself sometimes as a writer to write THAT muse. not that i doubt my writing in general, just that muse.
with link? i don’t feel that way? I don’t know why either, cause theres a lot of lore that i take as well. but i just.... have gotten to the point where i’ve had link for so long as a muse ( despite putting him on the back burner ), that i just.... don’t care about that with him. in fact, i WELCOME duplicates with open arms. i really do because i want to see the different portrayals of TP link, and of other links too!! i have never considered link to really be.... a character that is you. he’s the protag ( and honestly he is you in the games , he’s the player ), but he has a very distinct & unique personality that just FITS link. you know?
so again, i just wonder about my duplicates. and honestly??? by extension other people that i follow that are the same muse. for example, i follow 2 BOTW links ( and i have my own interpretation of wild as well tbh ). so by extension, i wonder about like... people in that aspect too? do they get scared that i’ll replace them? that i’ll reuse plots with another person? and for those with the same muse as me:
are they scared that i don’t like their portayal?
i just wonder cause i never ever, EVER want anybody to feel that way. i want people to know that they are all good. they are valid. their interpretations are valid. everything they have and love about their muse is VALID. and i would never ever replace anybody with anybody else. i cherish all of my interactions. and i love LOVE all of my duplicates here.
no, i would NEVER replace anybody here. i would never reuse specific plots & relations i have with another. each interaction is so so SO unique. and you are valued as a mun.
i WANT to follow other links because i want to see the variety. i want what i can’t seem to find on my other muses -- i want that love for the same muse to be there and shared. if i could honestly make group chat with just all of the muns for links, i would. but i do not do well with group chats in general due to ( you guessed it ) anxiety.
i just.... i dont know... i want to let every duplicate out there know that they are valid. and that i love and appreciate them so much.
and yes, i honestly do want to know if i intimidate a duplicate. or if i scare them in some way shape or form. i am here to talk to you. because yes! i know how it feels to have duplicate anxiety, and honestly i would want nothing more than to have a duplicate come on my other blogs and reach out for my hand and tell me that it is okay.
so this is me, who knows i have duplicates, extending my hand out to you.
on this blog:
you will be loved & cherished. just like anybody here. i will support you. & above all, i will always accept you.
----- best regards, khepri.
