I’m too cold and wet to write a nitpicky essay on this so I’ll summarize it to what the fuck is Sal talking about in panel five? Not only does she go from zero to Jedi Master in the middle of a series of shocking developments, but she starts talking about Amber’s character arc despite not knowing Amber basically at all and the line making no sense in the context of the conversation. 

“You need to find an outlet for your anger”. Sal she fights crime. That (and kissing your brother) is literally the only thing you’ve ever seen her do. The outlet, she is found. 

Oy.

In the interest of being positive, though, all of Amber’s flashbacks to the robbery have had red coloring to indicate traumatic flashbacks and now that they’re finally meeting it’s a sunset so that the scene can have red lighting diegetically, which is really cute and clever.

Transcript: You can be as annoyed as you want with people saying “Sans is overrated” and presumably doing nothing about it (which is weird to assume in my opinion. Even if they aren’t doing anything, it’s an anonymous confession blog, you don’t know anything), but the fact of the matter is that he IS overrated. Sure, AUs where he isn’t the main character of everything absolutely do exist, but the Sans centric AUs GREATLY outweigh the AUs centered around anyone else, and AUs of other characters can be pretty damn hard to find when the Undertale and AU tags are filled to the brim with skeletons. Even when an AU ISN’T sans centric, people find a way to focus exclusively on him, to the point where you have to be reminded that there’s other characters in the AU (COUGH COUGH OTHERTALE).

As for Core!Frisk, yes, they’re popular and for a good reason. However they’re usually only used as some plot device for a different Sans to redeem themselves (or to edge-ily reject redemption). Seriously, looking up Core Frisk right now, here on tumblr dot com, there’s only one drawing of them in the top 5 results that don’t include a sans one way or another. You have to scroll a WHILE to see Core by themselves or with a non-skeleton character.

Sans is not a bad character. Overrated =/= bad, and you are not a bad person/artist/writer for liking Sans or making more works about him. But to say he isn’t overrated like he isn’t constantly absolutely everywhere is, quite frankly, a little fucking delusional. At this point he’s more omnipresent than Core. Someone wishing to see characters other than Sans in the UTMV is not the hate speech some of you are acting like it is.

Transcript: For the love of God, Please Understand, that any hatred towards sans for being the golden egg of this fan base will immediately make you look stupid, Please Understand, that the reason people immediately go after Sans to make AU's with is just because he is famous, simple and a big part of Undertale (the main game's story), Please Understand, that the reason you barely see Undertale AU's that don't focus on Sans are rare for a reason that ISN'T CONNECTED TO SANS, they get shafted for many factors, maybe the concept ain't that interesting, maybe the story isn't that well written and the list goes on, but Please Understand, That the BIG reason as to why they get shafted is because most of them are completely disconnected with the Undertale MULTIVERSE, a lot of comics and Comics about AU's that don't center around sans usually are not that connected to the multiverse of Undertale, which is why a lot of them get dropped the moment they end because you can't do a lot with them after the story ends, a lot of those stories have an START, MIDDLE AND END, and throughout the WHOLE thing these AU's don't interact with the outside of them, I.e the multiverse, which is a big factor of the longevity of an AU's success, PLEASE UNDERSTAND, that's it's NOT IMPOSSIBLE to make an AU that doesn't center around sans to get famous, in fact, it's not that difficult either, a lot of AU's prove this actually: CORE FRISK AND THE OMEGA TIMELINE (being LITERALLY and EASILY THE BIGGEST PLOT DEVICE OF THIS FAN BASE), UNDERPLAYER, TWINRUNES, EPICTALE (while sans is THE most recognizable guy there, the story is still closer to Undertale than you'd initially think, with Epic sans just going through the same thing classic sans did go through with being the golden egg) and the list keeps going, a lot of those AU's have their longevity significantly boosted by being more connected to the multiverse than most other stories, but also don't get the wrong idea, you can just not care and still make a self contained story without connecting them to the UTMV, don't feel pressured to do things just because I said so, but if you want to see more AU's that don't center around sans, not only do them yourself (be the change you wanna see) but also connect them to the UTMV if you want it to stand around for longer and maybe get more people to appreciate it and make more like it, anyways, thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Last thing I'm going to say on this- I brought up rocky horror because like it or not it IS a piece of queer history and it IS widely liked. You are correct its is also transphobic I literally never said it wasn't. It's transmisogynistic abelist and it's not written well in the slightest. I brought it up because despite all of that the character frank is written to by sympathized with in the same way alot of sans aus are and because alot of rocky horror fans will outright deny rocky horror being transphobic because frank is treated sympathetically and tragically- the same exact way people claim sans aus can't be abelist because the writers either didint know better or the characters actions 'make sense in context'. The creators of rocky horror should have known better and it is unfair of me to compare the production of a fanwork to one produced by a mass media company but I am comparing them because of their reception and fan response to criticism not writing- I apologize if it came off that way.

As for horror being an unreliable narrator, I never said he wasn't. I'm talking about the exact reasons as for why her being lobotomized was abelist- villians becoming disabled either as comeuppance or as motivation for later villiany is an abelist trope- and narratively horror sans lobotomizing her is treated as comeuppance. Yes he is evil and also a villian but compare the way the narrative treats him being attacked and loosing an eye to her being lobotomized and the subsequent fan reactions to both.

I'm sorry if my post offended anybody , but not a single one of you has brought up a point that's going to make me change my mind and i just wanted to vent about funnily enough THIS EXACT THING. again i never said the authors or the people who like these aus are bad people for liking and making them. I completely understand most of these aus were made when the creators were very young. People misunderstood my confession. I said it was fine to USE AI as a tool, not rely on it. Like.... this feeling of writer's block where you need to communicate with someone to write something. Like a roleplay. I was an rper so I kind of need a feeling of collaboration to progress.

I write a lot without AI. I just use it for fun SOMETIMES.

It's fine. to use it for your OWN entertainment. I DID say AI fanfics are soulless?? Usually you get inspiration from other sources, like music, or manga, or literally anything else that isn't AI, AI won't give you anything original.

I just wrote that confession because people don't take this topic with nuance. You seriously going to bully a kid for using chatgpt to write their fanfics the same way people used to bully kids who traced art? That happened before and it's ridiculous. At least get your point of view across without attacking or being rude about it

I'm not pro-AI, I don't write my main and ambitious Undertale fics with AI, and for the people who are saying it's bad for the environment... i need to do proper research on it and if it's right, i'm going to do my best to avoid supporting AI (it's already bad enough that it steals other people's works without their consent, I already don't put a cent in supporting that). i get the language reasons for why xfrisk and xchara were made male (i still dont personally use he/him for either of them) but their wasnt any reason to change her?? i know jakei drew her with the trans flag but considering nonbinary falls under the trans umbrella and she still hasnt been actually referred to or retconned as transfem and a large majority of the fanbase still thinks she IS nonbinary i dont think shes been canonically changed. she could have made alphys nonbinary and the nyan-binary joke still would have worked, she could have stuck some cat ears on xfrisk and had them come out and the joke would have worked!

i LIKE underverse and xtale but mew mew is my favorite undertale character and i cannot stand how her gender is constantly looked over by the fandom (like when she was put in that stupid genderfuck poll). itd be one thing if mtt also was nonbinary but he gets to keep the fact that hes trans while she was de-gendered just grosses me out.

its also just the...the most popular au mewmew, misgenders her! and removes her story of accepting herself and becoming a happier person while literally having the trans flag colours. i also dislike xalphys being made into a lesbian but thats a seperate less relevent critisim.

i also dont like how a bunch of homophobic fans have ruined anybodys ability to discuss the problems in underverse. some of you guys get way to defensive about valid concerns people have. you cant say underverse has a transphobic element now without a million people getting up in arms to defend male frisk & chara when those arent the major reason people are critizing it anymore (not tumblr thankfully...but tiktok. sneer) cross being trans coded was a good thing in my eyes (and also pretty blatant was that 'cross isint trans' poster even watching the damn series???) but id like if the only named transgirl in the fandom to not be misgendered like they always are for once. but maybe thats asking to much.
