Hum... I'm was thinking... I antagonised Cosmic Noise too much

He's a little too much on the dark side... which should be okay since yn it's The Noise, but it shows a lack of maturity, which isn't what I was going for Cosmic Noise.

He should be a chaos brigger, a slick trickster, but also a curious being who interfears with people on their journey, guiding them in situations to give their adventure a little spice, for better or worst.

What I'm trying to say is I made him too obviously evil, he lacks nuances.

As a cosmic entity he shouldn't be evil or good, he's above those arbitrary characteristics

He has some wisdom given his age and status, a wise phrase here, guiding people there, not much really but it shows he's not just a HUMOUNGUS butthole

I kinda imagine him like Disney's Cheshire cat, completely insane, often tricking people but still having some kind of wisdom and intelligence, like having the knowlegde that he is in fact insane.

AU idea: Alyx lived, was at the tree this whole time, and she and some Afterans come to Remnant (Curious, Somewhat, Juniper, Jabberwalker, Herbalist, etc) and are changed into Remnantians (humans or faunus). What do you think their new names and semblances would be? And weapons if possible.

Well I mean first of all Alyx would still be named Alyx. She’s a Remnantian after all, she can keep her name. Her weapon is of course a knife of some kind, I’m leaning towards one of those Chinese ones on the ropes, feel like she’d be brutal with one of those

I don’t see any reason why Juniper couldn’t be named that, as well. It’s a legitimate name, plus it’s a color. I’ve drawn her before as a rabbit Faunus child with very pale coloring. She wouldn’t have a Semblance or a weapon, because she’s a child

Curious would obviously be a cat Faunus. I’m leaning towards tail as their trait, because of the amount of emoting and gesturing they did with it. I would name them Chester (a nod to the Cheshire Cat). I don’t know about weapon, but their Semblance would be similar to Jax (giving part of their soul to other people to influence their decisions)

Somewhat is of course a mouse Faunus. (All these animal characters are easy lol) Their trait are their ears, and I envision them as a short teen with fluffy, light brown hair. As for name, I’d name them Molly (because the dormouse’s name is Mallymkun, and the name also means little) Their Semblance lets them change their size for a short period of time (Little to Somewhat), but they get very tired afterwards

The Herbalist can just be named Herb, that works out find. He’s got grumpy old librarian energy, but he’s a good guy at heart. He doesn’t fight with a weapon, and instead prioritizes using his Semblance to mind-whammy opponents. Gotta love leaf drugs

Synopsis: You're a variant who escaped from Murkoff amongst the chaos and the bloodshed. You're more aware of your madness than the others, and you always have a way of escaping danger.

You're essentially like the Cheshire Cat. I totally didn't get inspired after watching Disney's Alice in Wonderland or anything like that...

Again, these can be seen as platonic or romantic. All up to you.

Miles finds you amusing the moment he sees you grinning and making remarks about his missing fingers. Your outfit is stained with blood, yet none of your own, and he can tell you're a tough cookie. You intrigue him.

Waylon is freaked out. He doesn't want to be rude, as you clearly went through hell here, and the last thing you needed was to be told that you were horrifying, but you just... weird him out. Your eyes are unblinking, you hum, your grins are wide and unsettling...he's surprised you haven't shoved a knife in him, yet. He guides you out, but he's cautious.

Blake is reminded of Val, if he's being honest. You both act somewhat alike, even your outfits were somewhat alike; you're wearing a dirty uniform that obviously came from an asylum, and Val wore remains of their cassock. He'd much rather deal with a variant than a cultist, he's sure of that. You're helpful, too. Giving him hints and deciphering the Latin phrases scattered among the town of Temple Gate.

Lynn is reminded of Val, too. You were taken in hours earlier, and you found your way to Lynn after traversing through the tunnels. You looked to her pregnant stomach with a look of knowing and a chilling grin, questioning her if she knew her child was one of delusion and falseness. She was...confused as to what you meant, but you wouldn't continue. Val, however, got a little angry at you for suggesting that their lord was nothing but a simple trick of the mind. You didn't seem to care, however.

Trager is intrigued, as well. You popped up in his little section of the asylum, curious about his work, and he didn't have the ability to shoo you away or steal your tongue. He tried so hard to understand you, and yet he couldn't, to his dismay. You're a hell of a lot more interesting than the priest or his little buddy.

Jeremy is freaked the fuck out and thinks you're trying to get revenge on him. He remembers the day he submitted you, and yet here you are, looking into his eyes with wild hair, blood on your uniform, and an unsettling grin that showed off your teeth. He starts to get used to you once you help him escape from the other variants. You know he'll succumb to the Walrider, anyway. Might as well give him hope...

Eddie is fascinated. He could squash you like a bug, and this is something you tell him, but he doesn't wish to. Much like Trager, he tries to understand you. You're so silent, and whenever he's enraged, you're always...gone. He loves the grin on your face, because he has the same exact one!

Walrider and you are one and the same. You disappear at will and love to mess with the other variants. He doesn't care for you that much.

Frank Manera is...freaked out by you. The scary, cannibalistic variant wielding a saw is scared of a silent yet witty variant with a horrifying grin and a wise gaze. He doesn't even try to eat you. The last time he threatened you with a saw, you just grinned at him, your teeth and eyes the only things apparent in the dark room. He felt vulnerable.

Chris doesn't care whatsoever, and is far too focused on locating the Walrider. However, he does find the grinning variant that roams around the upper floors of the asylum a tad too...strange.

Marta is convinced God sent you as a sign to make her stop her 'righteous' activities. Your eyes shine a menacing white, and so do your teeth, and you're all she sees when roaming the dark fields of Temple Gate. She threatens you with a glare and a wave of her weapon, but by the time she's near where you were last standing, you're gone without a trace. Maybe Val sent you as a spy? Who knows.

Val fucking ADORES YOU. An escaped variant from god knows where, they think you're a blessing with your scary aura and your knowledge about their god [which you know nothing about, you just enjoy feeding them bullshit. It's kept you alive]. Your eyes are as white as theirs, and they find you mysterious. You're an enigma. The heretics love hearing you make remarks and rhyme about things. The members of the New Testament used to attempt to ambush the heretics, but after seeing you appear near every entrance with a menacing grin, they've halted all efforts.

Laird and Nick have opposing views. Laird thinks you're a demon of some sort, as no human being has such white eyes, and Nick finds you cool. He enjoys hearing you read to him, as your voice is as smooth as silk.

Smartness

Just curious about your comment on giving the smartest character a northern English accent (presumably not literally since they speak a different language, but in a theoretical "English dub"); who would you say are the smartest cats in the BB au?

Jessy! Definitely! That girl's a total genius! She's got this amazing way of thinking in 3D and considering long-term consequences. I consider her as a proper prodigy of cat engineering, more than just being intelligent like a lot of my other characters.

Lizardstripe and Barley Sr. are both also very intelligent, though Lizardstripe's intelligence is in a more interpersonal sense where Barley Sr's is in a more engineering sense.

I try to think of intelligence not as a singular Thing, but as a bunch of separate 'types' of intelligence that individuals can have. Some people are great at understanding 3D space, others are amazing at remembering basically everything, others have outstanding social intelligence. So on. Most people have at least one, unless you're Billystorm <3

Other random 'smart dudes' in BB,

Runningnose: Just as intelligent as his mother, Lizardstripe.

Brushburn: Great engineer, photographic memory

Dappletail and Ferncloud: All educators need to have really good memories.

Ravenpaw: Excellent memory, would have made a great Cleric

Spottedleaf: Insightful, catches people off guard with how much she's able to gleam about you just from a few sentences

Daisy: Very rational and insightful, able to clear her mind and see things objectively.

Poppyfrost: Inquisitive, excellent at logical processes

MacGyver: That name... it HAS to be something.

List is obviously not comprehensive, but these are characters I think are particularly intelligent.

Anyway, yeah, in-universe the cats are all speaking Clanmew. But I got a request from a loved one to very specifically make "the smartest character" ferociously Northern for them (in the hypothetical "dub").

Logically since the cats are in an amalgam of Clwyd/Cheshire/Manchester/Merseyside/Lancashire they'd ALL get accents from those areas. But "the smartest character" has to be even further up. Cumbria, maybe.

Book and adaptation of Alice in wonderland

Introduction

Tim Burtom, was the director scheduled to direct this adaptation of the movie “Alice in Wonderland”. A very well thought out choice, as he has a unique visual style and, with that, brought many elements that would help make the film not only magical, but a box office success. The 2010 film “Alice in Wonderland” is a continuation of the animation produced by Disney in 1951. Well, the animation was inspired by the first book, with the same title. While the live action was inspired by both the first story and the sequel: "Alice Through the Looking Glass". That said, this brief study will analyze the adaptation of the book by Tim Burtom and Lewis Carroll, relating the concepts with the Bildungsroman.

About the book

It tells the story of Alice, the little girl who falls down a rabbit hole in a fantasy place, inhabited by strange creatures. 

 There, Alice goes on weird and absurd adventures, faces uncommon situations, meets extravagant beings, is asked enigmatic and illogical questions. At  the end of the story, Alice wakes up, and realizes that it was all a dream. Let’s talk a little about the works that will be analyzed.

About the adaptation: 

Alice, an unpretentious and intelligent 19-year-old. After spotting an curious rabbit, she decides to follow him, but ends up falling into a rabbit hole in the garden.  This hole takes her to an eccentric place.  There is full of unique and curious characters.  Until then, Alice didn't believe that place was real. Because, she does not remember that she was there in her childhood.  However, as the story progresses, Alice realizes, that she is there on an important mission.

Wait, what is Bildungsroman, definition? 

A German term that means "novel of formation" or "novel of education"

The main character goes trought some dificult situations in order to gain experience and attain moral development. (CHRISTY, 2016)

How to apply this concept in Alice in Wonderland?

1- “Development of mind and the character of the protagonist from childhood to adulthood":

Little Alice x Older Alice

In the book, Alice encounters a challenging situation as when she tries to open the tiny door where she has to be really small to pass and ends up being too big after eating a cake that makes her grow a lot she starts crying because she could not deal with that situation.

In the movie, differently from the book, Alice is now more mature and know how to solve her problems, even though she still makes the same mistake she did as a child she did not cry and still tries rationalize to solve the puzzle.

2- “Tension or conflicts with the outer world and the inner world of the protagonist":

Little Alice

When Alice first enters Wonderland, she is confused about the place, obviously, but she is also confused about herself. She keeps asking herself if she is another person. Like in the following excerpt:

“Dear, dear ! How queer everything is today ! And yesterday things went on just as usual. I wonder if I’ve been changed in the night? Let me think: was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I ’m not the same, the next question is, Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle !” (CARROLL, 1865).

A little help

Alice's conversation with the Caterpillar is an extension to this identity confusion and this is reflected in the movie, where there is a similar interaction between them. As in the book, the Caterpillar insists in the question "Who are you?"

Other character that makes Alice questions more about herself and what she learned in the society she has been living on is the Cheshire cat. The following exerpt shows a little of it:

 “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to walk from here ?” “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat. “I don ’t much care where—” said Alice. “Then it doesn’t matter which way you walk,” said the Cat. “ —so long as I get somewhere,” Alice added as an explanation (CARROLL, 1865, p. 89).

3- “Temperamental loss must be there which makes the protagonist to undergo a long journey;": 

In the book, a child Alice is shown, therefore, with characteristics belonging to childhood, such as: imagination, courage, curiosity, and belief in fantasies.

But, in Tim Burtom's adaptation, with the 19-year-old Alice, these characteristics disappear.  Because, she spent many years without visiting that fantasy world.  And this difference is noticed by the characters when she returns to Wonderland. They say to the Rabbit, who brought her, "She’s not Alice" "you brought the wrong Alice" "that would never be my Alice".

4- “Time space must be long so that the protagonist gets a long time to get maturity of mind and character"

At the end of the film, after a long journey and many experiences, alice matures again, but now recovering her old characteristics.  Your courage and imagination.

Conclusion 

Finally, Bildungsroman finds himself in Alice's story. Because this work traces Alice's development fromher childhood, making her her goal-oriented personality with her imagination and inquisitive mind. In thefilm we can see a regression of her character, mostly by submitting to the rules of her then society, butshe eventually finds herself again.

"It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then." (CARROLL, 1865, p. 155)

WONDERLAND STAGE ACTORS! A set of theater kids that find themselves all sent to Wonderland and are made to act the roles of the characters they're casted as! Aside from our protagonist, obviously cast as Alice, they aren't technically acting cuz of magical influence, they're just cast as each role in Wonderland.

The point of this project is to write and finish something rather than to write and finish something good, so I'm not sure I'll even plan any character arc or development for these guys. Also, their theater stuff sadly isn't at all likely to be shown at all. IDK anything but the full plot in it I'm still stuck on what to even write. BUT now onto characters (also linking artfight pages for those posted)!!

Layla Tatton is the protagonist, cast as Alice! She's one of the most serious ones of the cast, and focuses mostly on getting home once in Wonderland despite the usually more curious nature of Alice as a character. Also, as probably the most logical character, she can't quite wrap her head around the logic of Wonderland. Of the main 5 characters, she sort of acts as the leader of them.

Marilynn Leighton is cast as the Caterpillar, but sadly lacks much character other than that since this whole thing is a WIP. Her WIP status is a lot worse than other characters. She's probably more quiet than the others in the cast, though not necessarily anti-social. I also like to think she likes wearing pretty dresses.

Rowena Lovel is cast as the Cheshire Cat! I can't think of much about her character aside from little things she does. The main one is her habit of appearing behind people, especially when they're doing something. Aside from things like that I don't have much more. But I do know she particularly admires Layla a lot.

Griffin Westcott is the Mad Hatter! Sadly he's also lacking in character, but he was meant to be the most lighthearted and cheerful of the cast. His best friend of them is Arthur Hayward (who's the next to be introduced). Griffin's meant to be the funny guy of the group but I don't know a lot about him past that.

Arthur Hayward is the March Hare! He's sort of similar to Griffin, especially since they're made to be the Hatter and Hare. He's more assertive than Griffin though and also probably quicker to insult someone, though he isn't necessarily mean, and that's the main difference between the two.

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! I mentioned there's 5 main characters BUT there's 2 more characters! They're probably more like obstacles rather than antagonists but they don't really like the other cast too much cuz of highschool.

Charlotte Shearer is the Queen of Hearts. She doesn't go out of her way to bother the others but does talk shit behind their backs, especially to Edward. She has far less people with her but similar to Layla she also acts as a "leader". She's able to work well enough with them on stage though but she doesn't like it.

Edward Darnell is the White Rabbit! For some reason, not decided cuz I don't want it to be a crush on her, he does anything she says even outside of Wonderland. He's more loud about his dislike of the rest of the group and only can get along with them on stage because of Charlotte.

You know, I had a bit of a train of thought thinking back on the whole of V9, specifically the Tree.

It's one of if not the most discussed thing in the Volume - every episode mentions it in varying degrees, and the explanations on how it works are quite notable:

The Tree reincarnates those that pass through it, giving them a new life and purpose;

Both Alyx and Louis reached it, but where Alyx returned to Remnant as she was, Louis was apparently reincarnated;

The reincarnation explicitly erases the memories, but the emotions one felt are not easily forgotten.

We see points 1 and 3 specifically with the Red Prince: Curious Cat, unreliable though they may be as a source of information, specifically explains that The Prince ascended when he was the Red King, which is how he became the Prince. And Cat also explained the hatred Prince had for humans:

"Though The Prince does not remember Alyx's deception after ascending, the heart very rarely forgets."

The rebirth that is Tree Ascension obviously erases one's memories, but not the emotional impact it had on people. We know, however, that Alyx specifically did not ascend - rather, she used Louis' Ascension to teleport herself back to Remnant.

That leaves us with the unanswered question:

Who, or what, did Louis reincarnate into?

Now, I'll say out the gate it's no character we've seen in the show - not the main cast, not the side characters, not the V1 Shadow People. Timelines wouldn't match for characters that have thematic connections, and there's no satisfying reason for Louis to be any minor or side character we know of.

Rather, I wanna propose a rather shitpost-y answer - Louis reincarnated into our world's Louis Carol, author of much-loved (and much thematically reused) Alice in Wonderland.

Now obviously we know that the Ever After is inspired heavily by Neverland - down to some characters being barely different from originals to the point you wouldn't be too far-off calling them dollar-store rip-offs. Obviously Curious Cat is Cheshire Cat, down to the ability to be come invisible and the signature grin. Obviously there's the name similarity between Alice and Alyx. Obviously Herb is the smoking Catterpillar, Red King/Prince is the Red Queen, Little is Mallymkun hell we see honest-to-fuck Dodo birds and the Jabberwock isn't even name-changed.

Different, but functionally the same characters.

So I thought: "If memories leave, but emotions remain, if Ascension is reincarnation, if Louis and Alyx are siblings and Alyx writes a book about her adventures because she still remembers them - then what would stop Louis from doing the same if the emotions remain? The details are different, the prologue as well, the characters no longer have their same names. The Jabberwock only has its name remain the same, for fear has deep roots, and Louis fears its name. But the roles are so familiar, and some all the same, especially of the sister, with almost the same name."

So, in your opinion, who is the best "mad cat" in all of fiction? My vote is for Thackery Binks (Hocus Pocus)

Now now, my good anon, technically speaking. (Here is where I break out the spectacles I keep on my person specifically for times that I wish to be obnoxious.) Technically speaking. Thackery is neither mad nor a cat. He's a human. I suppose depending on one's interpretation, he could count as a cat, so I'll give you that one, but he is most certainly not mad. He's the only sane one in that entire movie. I dunno, admittedly it's been a few years since I watched it. I was always more of a Halloweentown kid. (RIP Debbie, may your memory be a blessing.)

This is a tricky question. My instinct is to say The Cheshire Cat, obviously, but there are a few other sound choices. Seam from Deltarune is a worthy contender, as is the Cat from Coraline. It's a little difficult to judge Cheshire as he comes from a world of nonsense, while that does add a level of authenticity to his madness, it also means that he looks almost normal by comparison to some of his contemporaries. The same could be said of Seam, as Toby Fox content is rather like a kind of steampunk gothic version of Alice in Wonderland, the more of I think about it.

But the Cat from Coraline won't even deign to have a name. He appears to be the voice of reason, but wouldn't a reasonable person have immediately and fearfully warned Coraline away from The Other Mother? Wouldn't he have told her everything? Why didn't he? I can only assume that we just don't fully understand his loyalties or his true nature. When it comes to it, he does side with Coraline, but based on his demeanor...he almost strikes me as some kind of deity. He's the only entity we see who can freely cross between the two worlds. I don't know what The Cat is, but his strange logic and selective agency is curious.

My favorite Mad Cat in all of fiction, and by far the most iconic, is still Cheshire. But The Cat from Coraline may be the most well realized example of this trope.

Chibiiiii. I love Chibi, and we have some great conversations OOC. She's definitely someone i can randomly message, and i love that. Plus, she's willing to join in AU shenanigans with me, so that's always fun. I'm gonna wanna rope her into a ton of AUs in the future oops.

I love rping with her, especially her Leo, obviously. Some of my fave threads are definitely with her version of him. And 100% I love her Ritsu too- especially Cheshire Cat Ritsu - but every character I've been interacting with has been fun too. I'm especially curious about her Wonderland Nazunyan as i love him already and think he could definitely add some interest... She's someone else with a lot of characters, and though I obviously love Leo best - I'm sorry I'm biased XD - I do enjoy writing with her other characters too. Whether it's fighting with Eichi or the odd friendship with Yuuta, it's great. But i do also have to shout out that some of her headcanons are very good so i will continue to send anons harrassing her characters about things when asked but i'm also excited to see how her changes to Leo affect his relationship with Izumi. Hi! I’ve been looking at your posts for some time and I want to ask about Vivziepop’s ’Allison’ project. I’ve done research about it myself but its not as well-documented. Do you have reliable sources about this? I am interested about this ’controversy’.

Oh yes! I know a bit about her Allison project, it’s not a lot, but hopefully I can inform more.

So around 2015, Viv was planning on making a 22 minute animated musical short titled “Allison”. Production wise, she was planning on getting a Kickstarter to help fund the project, because at the time this was something very big and she obviously couldn’t do it on her own. She had claimed that she had already gotten amazing voice talents to help her with the project, so it’s safe to say some progress was being made at the time. This was explained in her 2015 video titled “200K SUBSCRIBERS - Update Video-”

Now when it comes to this specific project, she never told anyone what it was going to be about, at least at the time. However, if you look at the concept art that she made (which has been around the Internet for awhile now) we can obviously infer that it was going to be very similar to “Alice in Wonderland”, with a little girl going to a magical world with a Cheshire Cat, a clown and a rabbit, a queen of hearts, ect.

Now fo course, this project never came out. It is kinda sad, it looked interesting from the concept art that was public, and judging by what Viv said, she seemed to have made progress, even gotten voice actors, until the project was obviously scrapped. There are mainly two reasons why this happened. One, at the time Viv was working on a LOT of other things. Not only did she plan on making this, but on her list was the Jay Jay Returns animated music video, the Zoophobia reboot, the Owl City Silhouette music video, HAZBIN HOTEL, and of course to add insult to injury, Patreon + Livestreams. So yeah, Viv had a LOT on her plate back then, which is one of the reasons why this project got shelved.

However, the most important reason why this project didn’t happen (and this is information we DO know) was that Viv thought it was too difficult to write. In her “BIG UPDATE! Moving + Hazbin Hotel (Pilot) + Classic”- video that came out in 2017, (and is still on YouTube), she explained that Allison was a short about “depression and loss”. And yes, I too myself was surprised to hear that, seeing how the character designs were cutesy wutsey and so brightly colored, but apparently it was going to be a dark short. In the video, Viv then goes on to explain that the past year had been very rough for her, so she simply wasn’t able to bring herself to write this short. And again, she describes it as a “very dark” short. So yeah...that’s the last we ever heard from Allison, and that’s all I know. Again, I will say it is a shame we never got to see it, I’m curious to know what it would have been like.

Lastly from what I know, there wasn’t a controversy surrounding this project. I guess people were simply pissed that she hyped this up and got people to work on it, only to drop it.....but hey, that’s showbizz for ya.

it has come this this author’s attention that the Viscount Bridgerton has begun courting Lady (y/n) (y/l/n) earlier this week. The pair have been seen promenading on several occasions and Mr. Bridgerton has sent flowers every day. Are we to expect a new Viscountess in the ton? “Do you truly think he will propose, mama?” your asked your mother. She had woken you up with the latest society papers in hand.

“Of course he will! I would not be surprised if he dances with you four times at tonight’s ball!” your mother replied, a proud smile on her face.

“Don’t be absurd, mama! That would be extremely improper!” you exclaimed, but a crimson blush still appeared across your cheeks at the mere possibility of being close to Anthony for that long. It was no secret that the eldest bridgerton had your affections, but you were not sure if you had his. Despite his actions, the Viscount was known for being a rake of the worst kind and didn’t tend to show his emotions aside from the occasional smile or brooding demeanor.

“My daughter! A Viscountess! Who would have thought?” your mother hugged you tightly, grinning like a cheshire cat.

“Don’t be hasty, mama. You forget he has not yet proposed, he might not at all.” you answered. 

“Don’t be absurd my dear! Tonight you shall wear the family diamonds!” she declared and stepped out humming joyfully. 

You didn’t want to rush into this, but your thoughts circled back to him during the day and you realised I can’t help falling in love with you, Anthony Bridgerton.

“Do you think she will be here tonight?” asked Eloise to her eldest brother.

“She guaranteed she would.” Anthony replied, the same brooding look as always on his face as he looked at the entry expectantly. 

“My son, why don’t you dance with one of the other ladies? I’m sure they are just as fine dancers as Miss (y/l/n)!” the Dowager Viscountess said, already looking around for someone appropriate for her son.

“I do not wish to dance with anyone else, mother.” he responded, still looking at the door.

“My son, bear in mind that you are choosing the future Viscountess Bridgerton, this is not just one more of your affairs. You have only been courting her for a week, it’s still the beginning of the season. Only fools rush in.” Lady Violet muttered so only her son could hear, a smile on her face to keep away the prying eyes and ears of the ton.

Anthony finally looked back at his mother and said “This is not just another affair. (y/n) is different. I -” he looked around then back at his mother. “I’m falling in love with her.”

Violet’s eyes softened, a small smile appearing on her face. This is all she had ever wanted for her children, to find love and live a happy life.

“Well then, I think you would like to know that your dearest has arrived.”

Anthony’s gaze went straight to you and, smiling softly, he thought you looked like an angel. You were wearing a white gown with gold details, long gloves, diamonds and a small tiara. He immediately made his way to you and bowed.

“If I may be so bold, Lady (y/n), you look absolutely stunning. May I have your first dance?” he said with a shy smile. You blushed at his comment.

“Of course, Lord Bridgerton. It would be my honour.” with that, he took your gloved hand, ever so softly, and guided you to the dance floor. 

The scenery was truly breathtaking. It was an outdoors ball, so light of the moon and the stars shone upon you. There were also a few lamps scattered, but just enough so the ambience was filled with romance. Taking your place in the midst of the other couples, you looked at each other as you waited for the music to start. 

“I meant what I said earlier, you look breathtakingly beautiful tonight.” your heart was beating much faster that normal as he held one of your hands and placed the other on your waist. 

“Just tonight?” you remarked in a humorous tone, trying to distract yourself from the feeling his compliment brought you. Only Anthony didn’t catch on, his eyes widened and he stuttered.

“N-no! Of course not! Not just tonight! I-” you felt pity for the poor Viscount and replied “I’m only joking, my Lord.” he relaxed his tense shoulders, chuckling.

“Of course you are.” he mumbled with a smile before spinning you and pulling you back in his arms. This was not part of the dance, so you gasped and started laughing, throwing your head back. Anthony looked at you in awe and thought like a river flows surely to the sea, darling so it goes, some things are meant to be.

“You always take my breath away.” he mumbled tenderly. The song ended and you parted, you looked back and he was still looking at you with a silly smile, making you giggle. You turned your gaze forward right before bumping into someone.

“Cressida! How lovely to see you!” it wasn’t.

“I know what you are doing, (y/n).” she said with the fakest smile you have ever seen.

“And what would that be?” you asked, truly curious as to what she was talking about.

“Don’t be daft, darling. It’s not very attractive. Everyone knows you are trying to seduce the Viscount.” she stepped closer to you and continued “This will never work. He would never marry someone like you. A Viscountess should be elegant, beautiful, sociable and everything else you are not. So, do yourself a favour and bow down while you have time. Wouldn’t want to embarrass yourself when he chooses me over you.” she was grinning when she stepped away and you were holding back your tears. 

Not wanting anyone to see you cry, you went to a more secluded part of the garden. What you didn’t know was that Anthony saw the expression on your face as you left and ran after you.

Sitting on a bench you found far away from the party, you cried, hands on your face. The scene broke Anthony’s heart. He stalked to you and said angrily “What did she say to you?” you were startled at first, but when you saw that it was Anthony, you relaxed a bit. 

“It was nothing, just Cressida being Cressida.” you tried smiling, but failed miserably.

“It was something if you are here alone and crying.” then he realised. You were alone, unchaperoned. But you were also crying and obviously sad. Shall I stay? Would it be a sin? he thought. Anthony looked back one more time to make sure no one was coming and hugged you, wiping away your tears. 

“I can’t stand to see you this way, can’t stand that she hurt you.” he muttered. You looked him in the eyes and asked “Why?” he didn’t know where the sudden confidence came from, but still he said “Because I can’t help falling in love with you.” 

You were shocked, but still answered smiling. “I’m falling in love with you too.” The Viscount grinned at that, holding you tighter in his arms.

“I know it is still early in the season and I have only just started courting you, but I can no longer wait.” he knelt to the ground and continued “(y/n), take my hand, take my whole life too. Would you do me the honour of becoming my wife?”

“Yes!” you exclaimed. He stood up laughing, spun you around and gave you a soft kiss on the lips.

“Are you going to tell me what Cressida said to you, future wife?” he asked with a satisfied grin. You laughed and looked at him sheepishly.

“She said you would never marry me, that you’d choose her and that I was not fit to be a Viscountess.” 

“Well then” he linked his arm with yours, walking back to the party “I think she will be very surprised with our wedding invitation.” you laughed at that and he resumed. “As for the last part, to me you are perfect and that’s all that matters.”

Gon

First of all, Gon is so mesmerized with your abilities!! Stars were in his eyes the first time he ever saw it, showering you in a bunchhh of compliments afterwards. Seeing you be able to disappear at will just makes him obsessed with seeing your power. He will always ask questions if he can see you use your abilities in front of him because Gon thinks its just so damn cool!!! Sometimes you’ll jokingly tease him by playing it off, saying things like “What? You can’t do this?” just to make him laugh. He’s immediately going to try and tell the rest of his friends and EVERYONEE else that he knows someone that can do stuff like this (the first person he’s telling is obviously Killua fo course). 

Killua

After hearing Gon absolutely RAVE about you, he was dying to see you and your ability in person. After all Gon’s said about you, Killua’s already interested. The fact that you guys are both pretty mischievous AND you have a perfect ability for pranks has Killua feeling so excited. He’ll immediately think of all the scares you guys can pull on Leorio. From randomly picking up items to make them look like they’re floating, to secretly popping up behind him when Leorio could’ve sworn there was no one there before, the ideas are limitless, and you have him feeling very mischievous just thinking about it.

Kurapika

In all honesty, he didn’t believe you when first hearing about you from Gon (yes the boy literally told everyone). But when all of you guys decided to meet up (and demonstrated how it’s true) pure fascination were the only words to describe Kurapika’s face when seeing your ability for the first time. Kurapika might apologize for not believing you and Gon earlier, but then he’ll ask if it’s alright if he asks any questions (even though he’s curious, Kurapika doesn’t want to sound rude or overbearing).

Leorio

The first time he ever met you/ witnessed you disappearing and reappearing was when he randomly saw a cup of water start floating off the table. Poor Leorio thought it was a whole ghost until he started to hear the random snickering from the corners of the room. Thats when you revealed yourself to him (Killua came out his corner too laughing)!!! Was the med student a embarrassed after the prank? Only a little bit, but, the pure interest he had in your ability overruled that. I think one of the things he asked the most that sparked his curiousity was if you’ve ever heard some good gossip before 👀 In the present, Leorio secretly thinks that your power is HELLAA cool, but he’s not going to admit that because he is TIRED of all the times you and Killua pranked him (mainly because he just keeps falling for them)!!

Hanako gazed curiously upon your actions of tussling with something inside of your bag.

It has to be big, Hanako thought, beginning to think of the possibilities of what was hiding in that strawberry-colored bag you lugged around, and it causes a lot of friction.

He tilted his head to get a better view of the object just as you hopped up and spun around to face him.

With a big and determined smile on your face, Hanako was presented with a frankly large and fluffy blanket! He blinked a few times, but he couldn't figure out a reason of why you'd pulled one out (or more like he couldn't fathom how you fit that huge thing in your bag).

"I'm not cleaning the bathroom today, Hanako!" Despite this violating the routine Hanako forces you into, he was very curious on where your sudden confidence came from. It was a pretty rare sight, and he didn't want it to fade just yet.

However, this is still Hanako we're talking about.

"Awww," the amber-eyed ghost pouted, his head falling into his right palm, "my precious assistant is finally going to seduce me into submission." He pretended not to see your obviously shocked and flustered expression and looked at his hand to pick non-existent dirt out of his nails. "I mean, that must be what you brought the blanket for, right? Well, why I do appreciate the thought and would be quite ecstatic for you to take me right in this bathroom," His hand paused it's ministrations as his eyes snapped up to meet yours, "it's just that. . ."

"I can assure you I won't be the one in submission." Hanako's smirk was that of the Cheshire cat's, and his words were thick, sultry, and were surely no empty threat.

He watched with that same mischievous spark in eyes as you half-hid your face behind the blanket you were holding up. You looked away from his gaze as you were just a bit too flustered to look him in the eye.

"How cute~" Hanako continued to purr, finally getting on his feet from floating in the air and began to circle you predatorily, "If I didn't know any better, I would say maybe you wanted that?" His teasing words swirled around in your head, and good lord you didn't even know how to react.

"I didn't know my sweet assistant was so—"

"I just wanted to cuddle with you, Hanako!"

. . . pardon him, what?

Hanako stopped in his tracks and his face immediately went from "Honorable No. 7's a minx" to "Amane's embarrassed again."

His hat seemed to match his emotions as it tilted half off his head, and his choppy and uneven black hair making its star appearance beneath, accompanied by his violently blushing face.

While your cheeks were still hot from Hanako's relentless teasing, you continued to explain your true intentions of the blanket you had brought to school.

"I-I just— well, I mean, we usually just good around and stuff, a-and that's cool and all!! B-But I kind of just want to lay down and relax with you. . ." You weren't looking at him, somewhat embarrassed yourself from your heartfelt confession.

Calming down from the initial fluster, Hanako's face softened, and that warm smile that he seemed to only wear the most with you made its way to his lips. Walking over to you, he covered your hands in his slightly larger ones, the feeling replicating that of a plastic bag with ice slipping around inside.

When you looked up at him, he felt the tip of his ears heat up a bit again, and watched as you opened your mouth to speak.

With your initial confidence coming back in the most casual way possible, you nonchalantly grinned and leaned into Hanako, "So, won't you relax with me? Just for a bit, mkay?"

Suddenly, Hanako remembered how small he could feel with you. He couldn't even say some teasing remark as his stomach was all filled with warmness and butterflies. His warm smile turned into this big, obvious, dumb lovesick grin and he followed your movements like an infatuated puppy.

You layer the blanket out on the (albeit, clean) bathroom floor and rolled up the edge enough to make makeshift pillows. You flopped down on the fluffy fabric, face easily falling into the soft cotton making the material.

Noticing the lack of ghost boy next to you, you peeked up at the ghost boy of interest and took a good look at his expression.

Hanako anxiously tugged on his sleeve, cap still tilted on his head, with a red face and a wobbly smile. You honestly couldn't tell if he was nervous or happy. His thickened-honey irises glowed and were completely set on you and the blanket you laid on, yet he made no move to walk towards you. His head was cloudy, and you recognized it (because unfortunately, you've had to take him out of his head for his own good one too many times :().

Sitting up on your knees, you clasped Hanako's hand, making him snap out of whatever trance he was in and gaze down at you. The pretty, amber eyes he bared at you were met with a comforting look. You whispered a soft "c'mere" before gently tugging him down onto the blanket and next to you.

Falling onto the softer-than-it-looked blanket, Hanako felt all the tension almost immediately leave his body. It'd been a while since he felt something so soft and comforting.

Other than you, of course.

His cap lied somewhere else for the time being for him to be able to get cozy on the makeshift bed-of-sorts. Hanako rubbed his cheek into the rolled up part of the blanket, resting his head and seeking the most congenial position.

"Hanako," you whispered, and he looked over to you who was laying right across from him, a bit of a cheery look on your face. Hanako blinked at you curiously, his eyelashes gently grazing his high cheekbones.

You smiled at just how fast he had seemed to slip into this headspace of his. He seemed content, eyes even a bit glossy from possible nostalgia of when he was alive.

His eyes widened a bit as you opened your arms to him, gestures inviting him into your undoubtedly warm embrace.

Normally, Hanako would think again before becoming so vulnerable with someone— but, you were different. He really truly felt safe around you. He felt. . . He felt alive.

Hanako wasted now time you snuggle into your arms, his face nuzzling into your chest, no doubt inhaling your scent and getting snug in your bosom/chest. His arm unconsciously came up from its place at his side to rest on your waist as you began to rub circles into his spine.

Hanako knew he'd have to wake you up when it was time for you to head home. He knew that. So, he wasn't taking advantage of any time he had with you right now. No, not with the way you held him so securely, not with the way your hand massaged his nimble body, not with the way you kissed the top of his head so lovingly! No— he wouldn't take you for advantage.

He felt so small right now, and he enjoyed it.

Amane was finally able to let down his walls.

. . .

Finally, your hand ministrations stopped and your hand fell limp on his back and snores began to bounce off the wall of the empty, haunted bathroom.Your chest had a steady pattern, very calm and signaled that you had most likely fallen asleep.

Hanako looked up from your chest to see your eyes closed and mouth slightly agape to let out those snores. He snickered a bit at how loud they were, but hey, at least you were comfy, right?

He shamelessly reached his hand up (stealthily, as he didn't want to wake you up) and gently shut your lips. The snoring was much quieter now.

Hanako took that advantage to just lay and stare at your finally tenseness face. He was grateful to see you like this, he really was. You were always so tense, one way or another, so seeing you so easily slip into such a vulnerable state with him had his dead heart doing backflips and cartwheels galore.

Hanako, ghost boy, didn't really need to sleep, so he just took the time to relish in the feeling of intimacy in the moment.

He just. . . was so happy, in ways he couldn't even explain.

He felt his face begin to heat up, but he couldn't be bothered to care.

Amane was just so happy to be with you.
