okay. so.

if you asked the scoundrel what her name (and by name, i mean her title as mr cards) translates to in correspondence, she'd show you this sigil:

assigned by the masters themselves, of course. she's very proud of it. she'll flaunt it to anyone and everyone who makes the mistake of asking.

the thing is, well. she's wrong. the real translation is significantly different.

it's an insult. an offense. basically the correspondence equivalent of calling yourself butthead. she has no idea what it actually means, and if you were to tell her, she'd probably refuse to believe you. violently.

as for how this mixup even happened, well,

been wanting to make a mind worker oc for a whileee now! SO now you get twofer one. first is nila!! who is sort of a combo of a sona and an oc....they're a lead choreographer at dream productions because surprise fun fact about me!! i'm trained in 10+ years of classical dance :] he's....kind of a weirdo, though. gloomy little thang. very fragile under pressure and threatens to quit like, every other day. it's their running gag. she loves her job, but is a chronic complainerrr. all things considered though, she's doing pretty fine. and i am nowhere NEAR this miserable in reality i promiseee LMAO i just wanted to really play into the fact that my favorite emotion is sadness 💙!!!

AND SECOND IS TALLY....she actually originated from a fic i wrote a while back, banned! and i love her enough that i wanted to give her an official design and fit her within existing dream productions lore. see, tally here is responsible for overseeing the entirety of studio A of dream productions....the very studio that joy and sadness infiltrated in the first movie and completely wrecked. needless to say, tally is NOT fond of them. she HATES the two. she's been holding a one-sided grudge against them ever since, and is CONVINCED they did this on purpose. meanwhile joy and sadness have. No clue who she even is . she's honestly not that fond of the emotions as a whole....funny grumpy lady. she kinda deserves a break, but absolutely refuses to take one because she knows studio A will fall apart without her.

also i think im required to inform that i sent this panel to some of my irls because they're also civil engineers, and i asked if they recognized any of this and they said "oh god yeah"

so we can pleasantly confirm that the adaptor/artist are still referencing real civil engineering stuff!

while we're still here at the start of the ep/my thoughts i do wanna say, the whole "ugly" gag is getting. a little too well worn

it is really well drawn! the artist is very skilled at drawing exaggerated expressions and its always fun to see, but i think this is like the third or fourth time now that this has been used, and i think my brain is just tired of the repeated schtick. i dont hate it, but the funny has moved on for me

i really hope that in this next arc we see a return of a devilish or conniving lloyd, rather than silly "ugly" expressions; its funny when he looks stupid but id like a better balance, which means i want more instances of him looking cool and smart as hell!!!

of course these words will. probably fall on deaf ears its not like i can message the artist/adaptor directly lmfao but yknow its the thought that counts i guess. actually i might be using that phrase wrong not sure

What words are you bringing into 2025, S?

Hahah perfect timing. So every year two friends and I choose vision words - this started like 5 years ago as a fairly ironic exercise but now it's not ironic at all 😂. Sometimes your vision word gets derailed and we still don't take them that seriously but I do think it's a fun way to bring a little intention into the new year. And we've just started discussing this year's set!

Last year I was thinking about the idea of planting seeds, building new connections and laying good foundations, so I went with Germinate. Which turned out to be a pretty good summation of my year, even with some major disruptions to the plan!

This year, I'm thinking Bloom. I want something that's joyful and about like experiencing life, being present, letting good things in. 2025 - New year, new decade. Bring it on.
