Im imagining that everyone else sees him that way and no one wants to be the person that pulls the pin on the grenade that is asking him about it, they all just assume he’s divorced because those are the vibes he gives off.

Plot twist: he’s never even been married. But the moment he finds out people think he’s divorced he leans into it super hard but the story changes everytime you ask him so now everyone thinks he’s been divorced atleast 27 times

Books of 2025: ADRIFT IN CURRENTS CLEAN AND CLEAR by Seanan McGuire.

Ah, yes, my favorite January tradition: heartbreak in tiny series installment form :)

This one is about a turtle-obsessed disabled Russian girl who gets adopted by an American family and fitted for a prosthetic she doesn't ask for, want, or need, and then she splashes through her Door.

I love Russian language and culture things (shout out to accidentally double minoring in college), so I was excited for a Russian protag and a Russian-coded Door world! Excellent enrichment in my enclosure. Neat cultural expansion on the Wayward Children universe (multiverse? cosmos?? insert appropriately scaled setting word here).

I also liked the aquatic nature of Belyyreka--terrifying giant frogs and delightful giant turtles and delightful talking foxes on the riverbanks were all lovely, and the worldbuilding about different weights of water was neat! Very mind-bendy kind of setting, I dig it.

This installment felt very slim (146 pages in my copy), and Our World Heavy--the first 46 pages were in Colorado, and the last 100 were in Belyyreka, but it felt like we did More Frequent and Larger Time Skips in Belyyreka compared to Earth? Kind of speedrun mode, sans Quests, really (this one was a lot more oriented toward Finding/Building Your Family, which was signposted pretty clearly upon our arrival in Belyyreka). Mostly a quieter installment up until the, y'know, Typical Impending Tragedy of Return at the end. (Did I almost put it down at 1AM last night with 30 pages left so everyone could Be Happy? perHAPS,)

Overall: I had a good time! But, ow, my heart (once again and forever).

Ok i think im really sick of this so i'll say it - it is very obvious how much of a higher standard people here hold max up to compared with the rest of the cast and im really sick of people pretending they don't do this.

You are not smart for saying constantly "oh max is an asshole" and not providing any other further explanation for that same statement. You all will ignore the times that other, worse written characters have been rude in the show in favour of reiterating the same point over and over and over and over and im really sick of pretending otherwise. Like no shit max is an asshole id be a dickhead too if my entire worldview was based on the fact that my parents are too busy to give a fuck and i have only myself to rely on in this world.

And if i said this is also heavily because of the fact that max is an indian child and a lot of people have issues with seeing children as people by themselves along with how poc are adultified socially id be the bad guy. I'll likely elaborate on this more in a later post but I simply have so many issues with how this fanbase treats max and im really sick of this

You know what I find really dumb? The fact that they chose the names Amelie and Emelie which are french names that look and sound almost identical, when these women are not French.

They're British. Literally born British nobility. Why do they have basically identical french names, that are literally a single letter off.

Especially when the anglicized versions of their names are pretty different.

Emelie is a french variation on Emily, while Amelie is a french variation of Amelia.

So considering that these women are British and not French, why are they called Emelie and Amelie, and not Emily and Amelia?

Like it has to be difficult to differentiate the names being said for people who are hard of hearing, or just people who have to use subtitles.

Considering the names also look almost identical.

It'd be one thing if they were French, I'd think it's dumb that their parents gave them near identical names, but at least the names being french variations of the names would make some level of sense.

But they're not French, they're British, and Amelia and Emily would make way more sense to be their names than Amelie and Emelie.

So honestly if I ever write fic where they pop up or are mentioned, I'll most likely be calling Adrien's mom Emily, and Felix's mom Amelia. Because my mildly dyslexic, fully ADHD having, ass cannot be writing (and proof reading) Emelie and Amelie over and over again.

Like they might still have the same name meaning, but at least I can visually distinguish who the hell I'm supposed to be referring to without feeling the need to put something like [Adiren's Mom] every time I type it.

fun fact about timelines! there is, in fact, a vampire timeline (222). very few changels have ancestry tracing back to it, and vampire genetics are almost as rare as human ones from 46. most notable traits found in changels stem from the elven timeline (45) and the hybrid timeline (3152).

Remade that attempt at an elf-blooded character from before using the mod that adds human head presets into elven cc. Now he can have more half-elfy ears (canon lore get fucked)

Changed him up a little bit.

Only name he knows atm is Aurelio (actually given the name Yanick by his mom, but that wasn't allowed to stick) born into slavery in Tevinter, gifted to a member of the Ambassadoria (from a once more highly regarded noble family, which once even had members on the assembly, but lost that standing, and now play at lyrium mining lobbying with Tevinter)

Got left behind with the rest of the less valuable stuff when darkspawn attacked when traveling around the deep roads, rescued by wardens and was already blighted, very much the join or die anyways moment.

Mage, but really didn't know shit about combative or defensive magic. Only practical things for around a home, some healing, and some flashy entertaining elemental stuff. He can juggle, and does frequently fidget with the magic orb contact juggling style.

Going to grow his hair out over the course of the game - if I can actually be fucked to play it through - and I'm thinking Taash for a romance.
