Ranger's apprentice but avatar au

Will is the avatar but because he is always playing in the forest he isn't with the explanation of what defines the avatar (4 elements).

Because of this he will only hear the bedtime stories. The ones that are twisted into stories with great heroes who are big and strong. Of course, because of this he learns that the avatar can bend four elements but he doesn't realize the avatar is the only one who can do so.

So his 5yo brain goes like. The Avatar is big, strong and can bend four elements. Will himself can bend four elements but isn't big or strong so he can't be it. But why can he bend four elements? Then his five year old brain came up with the reason. Everybody must be able to bend all elements but for some reason just doesn't.

He lives his whole life believing this so everybody around him thinks he can bend a different element. Somehow no one puts the pieces together.

But one day at the Gathering (Will isn't an apprentice anymore). Will and Gilan have to cook.

Gilan looks on as Will both lights the fire and bends the water to go in the pan. He just stares for a moment, takes a deep breath, then asks Will how he did that.

Will being confused says something like 'You can't?' Gilan then has to painfully explain what him being able to bend multiple elements means.

Will doesn't believe him. He spent his whole life thinking he was nothing significant and now he is suddenly the most important person in the world? Yeah, no, he ain't buying it.

Gilan then drags him to Halt and Crowley who have to painfully watch as Will bends four elements. They try to explain to him what this means but Will is still in denial.

Halt immediately knows it has something to do with his incredibly low self-esteem. So he drags him off to calmly explain to him with reason and logic that he is the avatar. Seeing the panic rise as Will realises and hugging him till he calms down.

There is gonna be a lot off chaos the next few weeks, with mountains of paperwork but right now Will just needs be held by his father to hide from the world for just another moment.

ok guys hear me out on this: the ending of the magnus archives is very similar to the ending of saw in that they both result in two central characters who have endured so much and been changed so thoroughly both by circumstances and by each other over the course of the story getting finally freed from the narrative (saw 3d is not a real film) and in that freedom their fates are left uncertain (once again, saw 3d dni) so although they in all likelihood were killed (SAW 3D GO FUCK YOURSELF) the story has a happy ending in its own way, not just despite but because of the tragic nature of their end

Hello there! And welcome to my blog!

I've been on Tumblr for over 6 years. In the past I've had several blogs with this one previously being a meme page for Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks' miniseries Band of Brothers.

Now. I still love Band of Brothers, but I decided that I wanted to turn this blog into something more general.

First of all:

This blog is NOT dedicated to the godess named Sulis OR to Aquae Sulis, known for the Roman baths.

My blogname is just an easy way of writing Suli’s stuff. Gotcha?

Soo, second of all:

What's my name?

My name is Suli.

It's not my actual name, but it's the name I'm comfortable with to put on the internet. So you can just call me Suli on this blog, even if you do actually know me ;)

Now, I mentioned Sulis and that my blogs name is just a version of Suli's stuff

But to those who are fan of James Cameron's Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water: I'm sorry. My name also doesn't have anything to do with Jake Sully's Na'vi name "Tsyeyk Suli"

I do absolutely love Avatar and I love the connection it has, but it's not based off of it.

Where am I from?

I'm from the Netherlands. I was born and raised Dutch and I'm proud of it! (gekoloniseerd)

So, since I'm Dutch, I feel like I have to mention that the Dutch people seem to be known for their fondness of swearing and cursing.

And I do feel like I also have to mention that I'm no exception.

What languages do I speak?

My first language is Dutch! I'm completely fluent and it's the language I speak on a daily basis.

My second language is English. I was not raised speaking English and I started taking English classes in school when I was about 12 years old. I consider myself pretty fluent in the language, but naturally I still make some mistakes as it is not my first language.

And after that I've had five years of German classes when I was in school, but I can't say I speak the language very well. I do understand it moderately though, but just don't ask me to translate it haha.

What are my pronouns/preferences?

I was born as a female and I identify as a female, so my pronouns are she/her.

I'm straight, and not part of the LGBTQ+ community, but I love and support everyone to be who they are and I will not accept any form of racism or discrimination on my blog! People who comment negatively on those matters will be reported and blocked immediately. No hate on this blog, just love!

What type of content can be expected?

On this blog I will post just random stuff related to the fandoms I'm in.

I actually love to write and I've been writing stories since I was 10 years old, but I've never actually published them anywhere. And if I do write, it will only be in Dutch. I master the English language very well, but not well enough to actually write stories I will be satisfied with.

So, if people would like me to write anything for the things I listed above, I will surely try, but it has to be okay if it's only written in Dutch :)

Furthermore I will probably post memes and other content related to the things I love!

For the fic writing game: 🌈🎉

🌈: I know exactly why this one only has 89 hits despite me pouring about a month's worth of my writing free time into it. It's a 7 fandom crossover modern AU (which is going to chop the pool of readers down) featuring Azula/Caspian (A new rare pair which I've only seen in one other fic) and it's a Christmas fic (which generally are read in December). 🎉 For this one, I'm usually pretty happy when I publish a fic, I'll celebrate with my wife and post about the fic in the discord server (which is primarily ATLA and LOK and I keep bringing them Star Wars fics recently which is always fun.) I love comments and I'm so happy that my dune/star wars fic has some very committed commenters and I routinely get 6-8 comments per chapter on it. I don't take that for granted, each subsequent chapter includes a thank you to the previous chapter commenters, but it's definitely a cause for celebration when the readers start chiming in with their favorite scenes or theories. Beware Sorcerer MC, the Kind.

Know it is a rare occasion, if you happen to see the Master of the Seven Avatars of Sin out without an escort. Whilst rare, it will be obvious – like a single dandelion seed twirling and carefree in the middle of a raging thunderstorm.

Like a thunderstorm, they are terrifying. Their bright, brilliant smiles – shining like the sun as they nonchalantly sidestep yet another carnivorous plant lashing out at them from the sidewalk; or as they wave hello to the gargoyle who spits on the heads of passers-by from where it is perched atop the local bakery; or as they gently chastise one of the Seven Rulers of the Underworld, as if scolding a child. It is a sight to behold indeed - when irritated demons on the street stop their bickering and straighten their ties as MC turns the corner, the bitterness in their hearts killed by an unwillingness to disappoint the realm’s most prized person.

‘Apprentice to Solomon the Wise. Master of the Seven Avatars of Sin.’

‘Sorcerer MC, the Kind,’ the Devildom calls them. Some say the title was a joke in passing from MC’s teacher - the wise sorcerer, Solomon - one day in the RAD lunch hall and it just stuck. Others say the title came from a demon they had helped, who saw it fit to spread word of their deeds. And some others say the title came from Crown Prince Diavolo, himself.

“What do you mean, beware MC, the Kind?!” You say, almost spitting out your tea as Diavolo hands you his D.D.D. There’s an article on screen, with ‘Beware Sorcerer MC, the Kind’ as it’s title; praising you as the central force behind Diavolo’s efforts for peace amongst the three realms. Problem is - as you continue to scroll through it - it seems to portray simple kindness as some kind of magic spell… with a particular warning to demon children to not sin in broad daylight lest ‘MC the Kind smite you with the curse of their forgiveness, like they often do in the hallowed walls of RAD’s mess hall.’

“Flattering,” Barbatos comments, refilling your tea cup before you can blink, “do you not think, MC?”

Diavolo nods, happily. “I agree with Barbatos.”

“Smite, guys.” You look up at the happy pair beaming at you – then look back at the article. You repeat this a few times, blinking slowly. “I… I just share my dessert sometimes at RAD - is that smiting? Lord Diavolo, have I been smiting?!”

“Such high praise, MC.” Barbatos grins. “This calls for the good tea cakes.”

“The good tea cakes – thank you, Barbatos! And the good Demonus! Our longest aged!

… You aren’t sure how to respond to how happy they are about this.

(this was fun to write. i wanted to think of mc gaining a reputation like solomon’s, since i like whenever them being a a sorcerer in their own right pops up. solomon’s the wise sorcerer - so mc being the kind sorcerer seemed fitting ahahaha)

(i had fun trying to to give mc the same reputation and respect and power but with the ‘kind’ title, and landed on demons being like ‘mc said i should apologise oh no what is this guilt must be a spell’)
