bf!taesan, who loves customizing things for you. if you want him to paint on everything you own, then he gladly will! you would come to him with two brand new pairs of white converse and he’d ask why you bought two, and you’d say with a smile that you wanted to match. he’d spend so much time making sure they were perfect and would wear your matching pair with so much pride. everything he made for you, you would cherish so deeply because you knew it was made with so much love. you would make a point to take extra care of the things he makes for you because of how special they are as he always puts so much time and effort into them!

bf!taesan, who goes out of his way to film everything for you if the two of you are apart from each other. if he’s away for whatever reason, he’ll make a point to record or take pictures of everything. the boys are being silly and he wants you to laugh along with them? it’s recorded. he sees a cute puppy? it’s snapshotted. it’s literally the most endearing thing ever how he wants to include you in on the highlights of his day. he doesn’t expect you to do the same either, but if you do he’s absolutely ecstatic! he just wants you to feel included in his life even though the two of you aren’t physically together.

So, the reality series The Boyfriend has eaten a large chunk of my brain recently. I'm not usually a huge reality TV person, but this show is scratching my brain so well, and I think it's mostly because it's very communication focused. So we get a lot of these men being exposed to different ideas and perspectives, different ways of communicating and problem solving, and most importantly, different ways of being in intimate relationships.

Shun is not my favorite person in the house, but I do find him the most fascinating to watch navigate these new relationships. He's extremely low energy, moody, introverted, outwardly calm, and reflective. He very obviously does not trust his own instincts about love and relationships, which is understandable given what he's revealed about past partners.

There is obviously a lot going on with Shun below the surface, and I get the feeling he is an extremely emotional person who has gotten very good at masking those emotions because he's never had anyone who cared about him enough to unmask them. We show our emotions to others because we want something in return - validation, comfort, understanding, etc. But we are able to show those emotions because we have an understanding with the people we are showing them to, that we will get something in return, that they care enough to give us something back for being open about our feelings.

Shun, an orphan who spent his entire childhood in an orphanage and who has had mostly toxic romantic relationships, hasn't had anyone he could trust enough to share his emotions with, so he is very closed off, even though he has a good understanding of his emotions and is a very good communicator when he needs to be. I think Dai (the guy Shun is most interested in) is a great fit for him, even though Shun hasn't fully realized it yet. Dai is ready to be that person for Shun, and his desire for Shun to trust him, his desire to be Shun's safe space is palpable in every move he's made to get closer to Shun.

In one of the most recent episodes, Shun passes up the opportunity to spend time with Dai simply because Shun's in a bad mood. He immediately feels bad about it because he knows his rejection hurt Dai's feelings. When Dai gets back from the daily mission, Shun makes a failed attempt to explain himself.

The conversation is so interesting because Shun is making a case for why not going with Dai was his perogative and Dai, who is just a really excellent person, and who has really tried hard to meet Shun where he is emotionally, is 100% not interested in having that conversation. Because he doesn't actually care if Shun wanted to go or not go, it's Shun's disregard for Dai's feelings that he's upset about. It's being taken for granted. They are not having the same conversation. But Dai also doesn't want to tell Shun how to fix it because he wants Shun to care about him enough to figure it out on his own.

They leave that conversation with Shun feeling worse than when he went into it. He goes off to sulk with a bottle of wine. Then Taehon, another contestant, joins him, and they have one of the best conversations I've seen on a reality show.

Shun talks about why he didn't go on the daily mission with Dai and how he doesn't feel like he had to volunteer to go, even though he likes Dai a lot. Taehon validates Shun's feelings, and here is the part that really hit me, and the part that I really hope Shun remembers later because he's revealed a bit about his past relationships and it seems like he was very much a person who got obsessed and lost himself to the whims of the men he's been interested in.

Shun tells Taehon, "I'm not obligated to go with Dai. We're not even dating yet." And Taehon replies, "Even if you were dating already, you're still not obligated to go." And MY GOD I hope those words stay with Shun for the rest of his life. That was something someone like Shun NEEDED to hear. You do not have to bend to the whims of your romantic partner. They are not entitled to drag you beyond your boundaries, and it is 100% okay to set boundaries and demand your romantic partners respect them.

Shun goes on to wonder if he wasn't wrong, why does he still feel so bad about what happened. Taehon tells him maybe focusing on right and wrong isn't what's important here, and Shun all on his own realizes what he feels bad about is hurting Dai's feelings, and even if hurting Dai wasn't intentional, and even though Shun had the right to not spend time with Dai, he should still let Dai know he's sorry that his choice caused Dai pain.

So, Shun apologizes for hurting Dai, and Dai is very happy, and the two of them get back on track. The entire show is so emotionally satisfying because you get to see in real time the ways people communicate, the intricacies of navigating new relationships, both romantic and not. If you enjoy watching people in all their odd, frustrating beauty, I highly recommend checking out The Boyfriend on Netflix. It's delightful.

♡ For someone who prioritized being a social butterfly and well-liked all throughout his young adulthood, he is actually a big homebody. Rhys forced himself outside all the time, to parties and outings, just so he could keep up his image of the cool guy, but once he settles with you, he's quickly turning out to be an introvert. It's easier to watch over you this way, and he seems comfortable hanging out with you all day, almost looking sad when he has to go out without you. No one would know since Rhys keeps up being friendly and approachable outwardly with customers and neighbors, but he only cares for you, so why would he go out? He's very crafty, not just when using ropes for your restraints, but also for fixing broken machines and making you new furniture. You'll never have to go without enough space on shelves because Rhys will immediately get his things to make you a new one! You might not appreciate the creativity of his tools and projects when he uses them to punish you, but for everyday life, they are very handy!

♡ Rhys is obsessed with your hands. Hand-holding, comparing hands, watching your hands as they work on something—he loves all of it! He'll hold your hand at all times, even while he sleeps. Or play with your fingers while watching a movie, rather than fidgeting with his own. Most of the time, he has to force you, but he'll become grumpy if he doesn't get to nuzzle his face into your palms once a day, dragging them to his face if he must and cupping his own cheeks. In winter, he makes sure to moisturize them for you, linking your fingers playfully with a big grin as he puts hand cream on. ♡ It is an obvious fact that once Rhys got his hands on a Shibari book for the first time, it became his new favorite pastime. But there’s limits to how much he’ll let others be around you

When someone blatantly flirts with you he’ll ignore it thinking they’re nothing to get upset over but looking out to make sure you’re not uncomfortable

When a demon is too touchy with you is a different story

If he notices someone being overly touchy with you and you seem uncomfortable Lucifer will stand behind you and glare at them

Normally this will be the end of it if it’s a lower demon scared of his power as the oldest but for some reason if the demon is bold and doesn’t leave and continues trying to touch you he’ll pull you behind him and threaten them until they leave

He doesn’t get jealous often because he knows you’re his and he’s yours and nothing can change that but sometimes he’ll overthink and have slight worries that he doesn’t spend enough time with you due to work

He tries to not outwardly express these concerns but you’ll notice the slight change in his attitude and comfort him until he feels better which he really appreciates

Mammon

Mammon is very clingy in your relationship and selfish with your time since he wants all of it to himself

There were times were he took you away from his brothers due to wanting your attention so imagine how he’ll react to a random demon flirting with you

Demons often forget that mammon is the 2nd oldest brother which makes him almost as strong as Lucifer and Diavolo that’s probably why this demon tried obviously flirting with you

When mammon saw you he was coming to show you something he had but saw you talking to some demon and started to get a little upset seeing someone talking to you

He walked up to you and pulled you slightly closer to him hoping it made the demon back off and catch the hint

This might work on some demons but others were bolder forgetting how high ranked mammon really was and continued flirting despite him being right there

This made him angry that he wasn’t being taken seriously so when the demon got more and more touchy he got angrier until he couldn’t take it and pulled you away from the demon and walked away mumbling about how all your attention should be on him since you were together

Mammon has a lot of insecurities due to years of his brothers bullying so he gets jealous easily and nervous thinking you left him for someone better because you realized that he’s not worth your time

During moments like this you will take him to cuddle in one of your rooms and tell him all the reasons he’s amazing and he’ll perk right up

Leviathan

As the avatar of envy it is common for him to have jealous moments over a numerous amount of things especially now that he has a significant other that he has to fight with his brothers for their attention

It’s hard to get him out of the house of lamentation due to him being an introvert so out of the few times he’s out with you and someone is flirting with you makes his blood boil

He went away from you for a couple of minutes while y’all were out and came back to a demon flirting with you he got a bit anxious before he walked over to you and stood behind you

Levi won’t cause a scene and will stand there until you are ready to go but if the demon gets too touchy he will slowly get angry and if the demon continues to do it he’ll grab you by your wrist not too rough and walk away mumbling about how you’re his and that , that nor is should’ve kept his hands off of you

Spending time with him by gaming or cuddling will help him through his insecurities and overthinking for a while

why yes of course! i fundamentally disagree w outwardly mean and evil regulus bc it makes no sense canonically. perhaps in an au where he separates himself from his parents and gets to be happy but regulus cares too much to be outwardly rude to people . it would impact his reputation and his families reputation like he isn’t hexing people in the hallways . he’s a professional faker (shit talks behind people’s back most definitely) and feels guilty and horrible everytime he’s plagued with an evil thought . i know many people view him as a selfish character but i think he’s fundamentally not . he puts everyone else’s wishes for him above his own . he doesn’t really exist as a person outside of his family . i do think , outside of this control, he would be sarcastic and have very dry humor , would love to read and would be very introverted but long for connection and friendship. a loner not by choice, he enjoys company but has no idea how to reach for it. i think he loves magic and magical creatures and genuinely holds a lot of love in his heart that his family disapproves of !! regulus soft black !!! not to say i think regulus doesn’t have an attitude and an edge …. i just think he has fundamentally good morals sorry! i’m a good person regulus black enjoyer i can’t help it …. of course he’s morally gray but most of the decisions he makes r caused by the life long abuse and trauma he is subject to . regulus black was suicidal as hell in those deatheater meetings the moment he turned 18 he killed himself LMFAO . i just know he was the most uncomfortable person in there at any given moment . i think vaguely threatening posh regulus is true but it is his exterior and the assumptions ppl make … and then they get to know him and realize he’s got like a little kid version of himself who holds the world with so much fascination . and it makes you sad when you realize he thinks it’s a flaw and wants to stomp it out

(james potter who is unfortunately consistently acting like a frat bro at any given moment : assumes everyone naturally loves him and is mostly right which does evil things for him as a person . would die for his friends but is also insufferable to be around (affectionate) . harshly judgmental to anyone who doesn’t fit into his box of what counts as a good person (which by the way regulus challenges in a way i think helps james as a character!) . looping back to the frat bro thing i think james is the type of person to throw a crazy party and convince everybody to drink and do unsafe things for the fun and when u realize u don’t have a ride home and can’t walk u are so fucking SCARED to ask to stay the night bc of his general vibes but then he ends up taking care of you and getting u pain killers and making like an awesome breakfast for the whole crew? should be the worst person you know but just beneath the surface is so much good it’s impossible to hate him.) you would never think these people would get along but then they both love quidditch and train for it like it’s their life and they are both academics with serious opinions on art and literature they would both die for even though they are often opposing . they are the first people they can have a conversation with and truly match eachothers freak on any given topic. the fundamentals of both of their characters is how much they care about life and the things inside of it . it manifests in different ways but i truly think the thesis of jegulus is that they are so much more similar than one might think outwardly , and it creates a soft intimacy between them . and also just james introducing the concept of silliness fun and happiness into regulus’ life lol!!

love when i get these so i get to ramble. thank you so much

well i started to be fond of them as a pairing from the idea of neji finding some solace from his clan issues in suna! he initially started going there as just as extra protection sent by konoha for gaara in whatever diplomatic business he might be on, but eventually gaara starts requesting him specifically because

it gives neji some space from konoha as he knows it stresses him out, and gaara post-chunin exams is someone who really wants to offer others a helping hand when he can

he's fond of him :3 there's some brief panels in chunin exams where you see gaara appearing to be a bit fixated on neji (like he got fixated on sasuke, just to a much lesser extent) and i think that would morph into fondness as he chills out and no longer sees people whose anger he relates to as 'prey', so to speak!

the whole 'you almost killed my teammate' thing wouldn't just go away immediately even if gaara Is friendly with lee, imo neji is the type of person to hold onto those grudges even if lee himself might not, but he's also someone who is very easy to disarm with like... honesty and empathy. and as much as gaara is stone-faced, he is also very much someone who has a lot of both! his Tone initially rubs neji the wrong way because it's just So unfiltered, but it also gets to him because it's impossible to dispute gaara's sincerity when he puts everything so bluntly, yknow? and as someone who grew up hiding or otherwise obscuring many of his true feelings (majorly by necessity, but later on also out of sheer habit), it's a trait that neji finds very very admirable — its part of why i like him with sasuke too, i think neji is drawn to people who are very openly themselves, people whose ideals are impossible to ignore

neji fusses over him a lot id say, he comes to think of gaara as a very noble person — someone with power and who is trying to make the world a better place with that power — and he gets protective over people he considers so fundamentally Good. i think it's nice for gaara to have someone like that around (esp divorced from his past, a bond that he's managed to build on his own by his own merits) and it gives him a lot of fondness for neji in return :)

a lot of their rs progression is this back and forth of finding out like, how much the other Feels and how gentle the other can be when not forced into situations that bring out the worst out of them.. i Love the idea of gaara's disposition softening up (being more outwardly sweet, more playful) a lot as he grows closer to people, it's why i like drawing him being so affectionate even though he's so introverted... i think the contrast is cute :-)

i'm also super fond of the thought of them unpacking some of their family troubles together lmao, i think it'd especially be good for gaara as he has a lot to retroactively think about once he's not on survival mode 24/7 and he might benefit from a detached third party as a listening ear — his siblings have their own baggage attached to their father, their mother, and their uncle, after all. and well if anyone knows what it's like to have a complicated family history it's neji :P

also as a bonus. imo temari+kankuro would get along with neji (…after a bit. everyone involved here is a bit of an asshole but that's part of their charm ok.) but kankuro treats him like he's his secret extra sibling. meaning he really likes the guy but also meaning he will not know peace under their roof. they argue about anything and everything

hinata and gaara also get along pretty well despite gaaras Past. mostly because i think hinata should be friends with every autism boy there is (shino. sai. etc) but also because i think the thought of her being like "i know he used to be a serial killer but let's hear him out people can change 🥺 he's so sweet he likes plants" is really funny

Pros:

Very loyal and protective, ride-or-die even to a fault - he always makes sure his loved ones are okay before even thinking about himself. While his cold or gruff exterior may lead some to think he doesn't care at all about anyone other than himself, that couldn't be farther from the actual truth. Dylan cares a lot, even if in a "hey, take care of yourself, you damn idiot" way - he usually expresses his care in actions rather than in words, and may have a hard time verbally expressing his true feelings.

I am genderfluid (they/them) and bisexual. I have short curly black hair with brown/hazel (idk I've been told I have both?) eyes. I'm pale, 5'3 and on the more chubby side. I wear glasses because I'm blind and can't see shit.

I have dyslexia and probably autism but I haven't got tested so Idk. Math has always been very hard for me to understand it in do great in subjects like history.

I am very introverted and tend to avoid social interactions, and I tend to be very judgemental and once I don't like you, I don't like you and will probably never like you. I can be spiteful but id never be outwardly rude of shit talk someone because I tend to freeze up during confrontation but I don't let anyone walk on me, i stand my ground and pick my battles wisely. Im very quiet and have been told I am a great listener and would make a good therapist. While in school I would go weeks without saying a single word but then when I got home it was like I couldn't shut up. Speaking in a public setting is genuinely terrifying to me and it feels like my mouth and glued shut whenever I try to. I am very connected to the environment and its creatures, and feel like I'm able to trust and get along with other animals better then I am people. My one big goal in life is to start a farm/animal rescue. Some of my favorite animals are alligators and crocodiles, and I could probably spill facts about them for hours if someone let me. I tend to be very protective of my things and schedule and get upset when people disrupt or move things. I have a spot for everything and if something isn't in it's spot or gets rearranged somewhere else I get anxious. I collect a lot of things and grow attached to them quickly. I am immensely independent because I am afraid of asking for help. I know exactly what i want and what i need, and I'll manage to do anything to get it. Humor and laughter is a key part of me and what i seek in life. But also trust and loyalty, those are all qualities i possess and seek in others. I tend to overthink sometimes and get paranoid about people leaving me.

My hobbies include art, I like to draw silly little doodles of things. video games, two or my favorite games are doom and silent hill 2. And I enjoyed caring for and spending time with my pets, which I have a lot of. 4 dog, 3 cats, 4 betta fish, 8 chickens, a wild turtle that lives in my backyard, and a bearded dragon. Im planning on getting a Jacksons chameleon and some goats when I have the space.

Stardew Valley MBTI x Enneagram: Emily

Following my last post about the Stardew marriage candidates and their MBTI types, I've been learning more about Enneagram, how it pairs with MBTI, and how it changes some of the typical characteristics of each type.

The Enneagram and MBTI complement each other wonderfully, providing greater depth and understanding of how a person interacts with the world [Cognitive Functions] and their motivations why [Core Desire/Core Fear].

Here are my thoughts on Emily's MBTI and Enneagram pairing.

Emily - ESFP 2w1: “The Companion”

How Enneagram 2w1 changes typical ESFP behaviour:

New Strengths

1. Fi Mimics Fe

ESFPs have Introverted Feeling [Fi] as their secondary function, meaning they primarily use it as an 'internal check' to see if they are comfortable with an idea or course of action. ESFP 2w1s are slightly different. They are much more concerned with the thoughts and feelings of others before concerning their own. There is a debate on whether their Fi is imitating Extroverted Feeling [Fe] or if they simply have a stronger grasp of it. That being said, as a high Fi user myself [Elaho - INFP], I believe that Emily's strong empathy is a result of her Extroverted Sensing [Se] and Introverted Feeling [Fi] functions working together to outwardly 'mimic' [at least, at first glance], Extroverted Feeling instead of consciously using more Fe:

A common misconception of Introverted Feeling is that it only cares about the user's core values, feelings, and emotions and no one else's. Not so. Fi is much more than simply evaluating what internal values the user holds. It is also a complex and vastly nuanced system of 'emotion mapping', allowing a high Fi user to enter another person's emotional experience and understand it, with almost near perfection, as if it were their own - they intensely feel the highs and lows of other people's inner world deep in their bodies alongside their own.

Introverted Feeling is highly individualistic and cares deeply about each specific person's inner harmony and personal happiness, as opposed to Extroverted Feeling's focus on group harmony and external happiness. Fi's focus is on creating inner harmony for each individual person which will, in turn, result in more authentic harmony and happiness for everyone.

How this information is obtained will differ between Intuitive and Sensing types [whether through Extroverted Intuition - Ne or Extroverted Sensing- Se], but the end result is the same.

We see Emily gather emotional information externally through her Se, and try to 'feel' and comprehend it internally with her Fi. She might have occasional 'bursts' of Fe awareness, but these are short-lived and are extremely rare for strong Fi users like ESFPs.

Emily always seems eager to lend a helping hand, even going out of her way to support the new arrival in the Valley. On top of her generosity towards the community, she also shoulders the financial burden of caring for her parent's house and supporting her younger sister who refuses to work, loves to shop, and won't help around the house- all to keep everyone around her happy.

However, ESFP 2w1s can have difficulty managing their own thrills and the thrills brought by others. This can cause them problems later on.

“I drank a super-food smoothie this morning and I feel aaah-mazing.”

Having strong morals and ethics is one thing, but consistency is another; how strongly they personally uphold their beliefs will depend on the strength of their wing.

Not only does she have so much on her plate with trying to make ends meet and support her community, but she has so little support from the people closest to her [her parents and sister], that she seems to depend greatly on crystals, energies, and Yoba [far more than any other spiritual people in town] to simply keep her from collapsing from exhaustion.

Conclusion

Emily is one of the sweetest, kindest, most generous people in Stardew Valley. She may come across as overly dreamy, eccentric, and enthusiastic, but behind her cheerful exterior is someone who is deeply afraid of abandonment: her parents shouldered her the responsibility of caring for their house and youngest daughter to travel the world without her.

The only contact she has with her parents is the occasional letter and gift sent in the mail.

“This house was left in our care by my parents. They've been traveling the world for the last two years. We have no idea when they'll be back.”

As a result, she tries to make herself useful and indispensable to those still in her life. It isn't until her positive relationship with the farmer that she starts to heal from her parental abandonment and confidently create the loving and stable family life she's always wanted with the farmer's unconditional love.

"Good morning! I was wondering when you'd finally roll out of bed! It's okay, Farmer… you deserve a good night of rest."

"I hope we can raise our child to be kind and considerate. That's more important than getting A's in school."

Bestie, you should not have given me permission to do this, because I am going to take you up on this offer and make you fall in love with alib Alex even more.

He’s from California (parents still live there, but he stayed in Florida after graduating because his internship turned into a full time job). He was a member of the same frat as Pato when he was still in school, actually held the treasurer position because he’s always just been weirdly good with numbers.

Known as “the cool guy” in that he comes off outwardly very calm, due to his introvert nature. At parties he’s typically the guy standing in the corner with a beer, unless he’s comfortable with you, then it’s a different story.

Raised Christian, says he’s agnostic now, but still has a Christian worldview that meant it took him a while to be okay with his sexuality. Hence, he’s in the unique position of understanding Pato and his struggle with his own sexuality.

Also like Pato, he’s a car guy. He own a McLaren, simple black because he doesn’t want the attention, just wants a car that can go fast. He and Pato go to a lot of car shows, which Pato is very excited about because he knows most of his friends didn’t really care for them. And Alex is excited about being able to go with Pato because he hasn’t really had friends/a partner at all to do stuff with since he graduated.

Lowkey, he got depression. Since he went straight into his career after graduating, and has been working as an accountant for 9 years by the time Pato meets him, he’s feeling very stuck where he’s at. He goes on vacations to get a break from work and he tries to talk to people, but since he usually comes off as brusque or rude he’s kind of a loner (once again, super introverted, just doesn’t easily trust either).

He and Pato start out as just friends, they don’t actually kiss or anything until spring of Pato’s senior year. But Pato spends the night at his place a lot, because of certain plot things happening by his senior year, and the guest room basically just becomes his. Nala, Alex’s dog that he adopted as a puppy, sleeps in the room with most nights and Norbi, Pato’s dog, actually ends up with Alex.

Alex is just a chill guy who’s maybe a little sad, but it’s okay because he has his dog and a cool car.

BG3 TAG GAME ✨⚔️

This one looks like a lot of fun! Thanks to my lovely friend @verbenaa for thinking of me!

Favorite romance: Astarion. I think it goes without saying that a lot of people have been able to relate to his plight in some form: whether that is through physical abuse, sexual assault, emotional abuse, or other traumas. He is not a perfect man and is a downright shitty person in the beginning, but if we never give people a chance to grow, we will never see them bloom either. He is a great example of us taking the time to understand why a person is the way the are and having a bit of humbleness in that regard. Astarion isn't just his trauma and I believe there's a lot of lessons to be learned through his character. That's what initially attracted me to him.

Favorite class to play: This is the first DnD game I was able to experience playing as a bard and I instantly fell in love with it! Otherwise, I do really enjoy playing as a beefy fighter or monk!

Favorite NPC: Hmm...Kethric Thorm is the first that comes to mind. He stole the show for me in Act 2 and I found his character to be incredibly compelling. I also have a soft spot for Roland, Alfira, and that sweet baby angel gnome, Barcus Wroot.

Favorite song off the soundtrack: Wash My Dreams Away, Nine blades, Who Are You, and Weeping Dawn to name some!

Tell us a little about your Tav: Tavelle is a balance to Astarion. He is outwardly a charming prickly extravert that is inwardly unsure, afraid, and anxious. Tavelle, on the other hand, is outwardly a humble introvert that is inwardly calm, slowly processes things, with bouts of depression. She's corny, flirty, quiet, feels confident in the skills she knows—readily showing them off—but suffers from making real connections with people due to her severe trust issues and sometimes lack of self worth. I could go on and on and on about her honestly!

Something you wish was in the game: I think some of the companions need more development. Halsin, Wyll, and Minthara are lacking big time in those areas. I also wasn't thrilled with how Act 3 felt overall. While I did enjoy the quests, it felt too much like I was playing in a sandbox of filler fetch missions, instead of enriching the story we were already playing through. Also, I actually really liked the original idea Larian had planned for the tadpoles??? It seemed actually quite interesting!

LoZ LU - Fierce Daddy

My hc? Fierce would see each & every one of the Links as his sons & every last Zelda (minus Sun) as his daughters.

However, more so in a spiritual sense.

This is based upon the hc that FD is who First was before he was First & the hc that he & Hylia were married.

However, he's stoic, very quiet, & somber. And he sometimes experiences PTSD. This is because, in my hc, he too was a protector much like the Links.

The difference is that while the Links typically (side-eyes Legend) only get a max of 2-3 adventures, then they just go about their lives. FD was on his "adventure" for, quite possibly, thousands of years with very few breaks.

This is, in the end, why he is the way he is.

Before that, he was generally a very soft-spoken, shy, introverted, gentle boy. Now, he's still quiet, but in a cold way. He can also be vindictive, harsh, & blunt.

Despite this, in his very being, he is a compassionate & empathetic person who hurts deeply when innocents are made victims of injustice. Underneath his aloof persona is someone who puts others first before himself.

The thing is that Demise had only just been repelled temporarily by the Golden 3 & several other deities, including Hebrogar, Sheikaku's father, & it'd left them sapped & the first patron deity of the land had disappeared. It was theorized that Demise had murdered him. (The theory is incorrect.)

But anyway, Demise had begun to kill mortals as bloodsport & to corrupt those that swore fealty to him.

The Golden Land became tarnished as the Monster General raped & pillaged & murdered & even cannibalized the people of the land.

And after he was sent packing for the first time, FD, Sheikaku, was named the next patron. The reason being that he was one of the only deities that didn't have a significant position in any other pantheon yet & none of the other ones seemed willing to touch the once Golden Land for fear of the Daiyōkai returning & making an example out of them.

And when FD realized this, he volunteered to be the next patron.

No one told him that he had to do this. It wasn't thrust upon him or spoonfed to him about it being destiny or his responsibility. Nobody even suggested that he do so. More so, he saw the chaos around him, saw that no one else was stepping up, & he decided that it may as well be him.

Unfortunately, he had to learn very quick that words wouldn't always be enough. Oh, he'd tried, but the longer he did not act, the more monsters, yōkai, & even Demise's mortal followers began to commit more atrocities upon innocents.

While his father, Hebrogar, had trained him to fight & protect himself, he'd never had to kill a person & the very idea galled him. But his people were dying & he was doing nothing... So, he took up his sword & forged himself into a weapon of both protection & just retribution; a Daikishin (Sheikah) or Dāvoh'lawàr (Gerudo), a wrathful god who visits just vengeance upon those who have wronged innocents. However, he does so without being guided by hate.

Although, the act of doing so. Of killing so many thinking beings, even wicked ones, took its toll on him.

He spent the next few thousand years cleaning out the evil from the land.

And as he traveled across the Golden Land, he also put to rest the souls of the dead & delivered them to the Beckonwyld (my hc of the Hyrulean afterlife). This typically involved the use of a song he'd created called the Song of Healing. However, that didn't always mean that it was always peaceful. There were times when the souls became corrupted by their own On'nen & manifested bodies from it to become Poes, which Sheikaku would then need to either soothe or put down with his Nijūrasen Zanbatō.

He became exactly what his current title implies, a Fierce Deity. A being inspired by the Japanese Kishin & the Buddhist Pāla, specifically the Dharma Pāla. Even more specifically, Yama. He became outwardly cold, ferocious, & vindictive towards his enemies. He became a god of war, retribution, death, spirits, twilight, & the moon. A figure of divine judgment.

He was deeply feared.

Yet despite this, he somehow managed to retain his compassionate & loving heart, though now it was hardened & scarred by trauma, as well as hidden behind walls.

However, at his very core, he is extremely Ashitaka-coded (from Princess Mononoke). He always does only what he believes is necessary, but at every chance he gets, if he sees a way to get peace, he will choose that. Like, he will choose to fight & defend himself, but he refuses to do so with hate in his heart. Which... is very difficult to do because... that's how he started out...

He used to get so angry over what was being done to his people... but as time passed, he learned that all this did was cause more pain, so he began to train himself in restraint & emotional control.

His family helped a lot with this. His father especially, who taught him the most about emotional control & resilience. About stoicism in the face of tribulation. If not for him, Sheikaku may have become like Demise...

He is also very no-nonsense & ever so slightly autism-coded in a similar way to how Ashitaka is.

Remember, he's witnessed the absolute worst of humanity over & over, repeatedly for thousands of years with only brief glimpses of light.

Problem is, due to his new reputation as a terrifying avenger, his fellow deities began to fear that he'd become another Demise &, honestly... he didn't blame them. His first couple hundred years as the patron certainly didn't do him many favors. (Though, such a fear was unfounded.)

Despite everything, he stepped down willingly as patron, but continued to protect the mortals of the Golden Land even after Hylia had been appointed because it was no longer just his responsibilty or duty. While yes, he only got brief glimpses of light & most of the time he was facing down humanity's worst... those brief instances shone bright like stars in the abyss of the night. He had come to love the land & it's people. He wanted to see them prosper...

It was at this point that Demise began to show his ugly mug again, but this time, he was beaten back every time by Sheikaku. Which... was astounding considering how it took the Golden 3 plus other deities to fight him back last time... Not that it was ever easy...

In the beginning, Hylia too feared him, but as time passed & she realized that he never once harmed any of her wards, she began to realize that he was more than what people assumed. Which, she hoped was the case as she missed her old friend.

She became curious &... over time... something blossomed between them.

Eventually, they wed (he made her the Goddess Harp as a wedding present) & she & FD created the Hylians & the Sheikah in conjunction, thus making the 2, sister peoples.

They then placed a sort of boon upon them that made it so that should one of the 2 peoples ever die out, the other would begin to bring more into the world.

This explains how the Sheikah always come back from what appears to be extinction.

But, moving on. FD designed a sacred weapon, a sword, that he hoped would protect his wife & their people, & possibly kill Demise once & for all. As a god of the forge of the Golden Land's pantheon & an experienced master blacksmith (among many other things), with the right materials, the correct magical infusions, & the appropriate runes, the weapon could do the job.

However, before he could begin to make it, Demise resurfaced, more powerful than ever. More than Sheikaku could handle on his own this time.

His mind scrambled for a moment before a calm came over him & his resolve steeled. FD gave the blueprints to Hylia, trusting her wisdom & skill in forging (which he'd taught her). Despite knowing how to do it, she was neither a master nor a goddess of the forge & thus, the resulting sword would not be nearly enough to end the bastard. (Though, just being a goddess with an amateur's level of forging skill still counted as a master work among mortals.) In normal circumstances, the best option would've been to have either Din or Hebrogar forge it, but both were still recovering from forcing Demise back before. So, Hylia could only follow their advice.

Either way, Sheikaku chose to fight Demise, & after informing his wife of his current plan & his back-up plan in case everything went to absolute shit, held the Daimaō off for weeks while Hylia forged the Goddess Sword.

But in the end, it wasn't soon enough to save FD.

The god of war & retribution knew that he was dying, but rather than simply fade away, he decided that he would do something that no other deity known to their world had. As his life slipped away from him, he could see above him the cosmic forces that called him to them. Because deities don't reincarnate upon death, they just join the universe & another takes their place. But, then he looked down & saw Samsara spinning below him like a carousel of colors. He thought to himself that he did not know whether or not his successor would be up to the task thrust upon them. They could fail. And all that they'd worked for would die...

Decision made, Sheikaku once more steeled his resolve & looked upon that which so many of his kind saw as a wheel of endless suffering & plunged into its terrible, wonderful, confusing rapids that immediately pulled him under. Giving up his godhood & willingly entering the reincarnation cycle. For he knew that the Triforce would not work for a deity & as of that moment, it was the best hope that his wife, his family, his people, had.

Needless to say, Sheikaku has a lot of issues & traumas to work through.

Though, despite all this, he would absolutely rend the flesh from the bones of ANYONE who dared harm the Links or the Zeldas.

He has... mixed feelings about Sky because of the fact that he & Sun are together. Though, not because of anything Sky did. It's just the fact that Sun remembers... Which is not something that was supposed to happen. (Forget the fact that he hadn't expected her to follow him.)

The whole point of reincarnation is to start over. So, remembering your previous life was kind of counterintuitive &... well... Sheikaku missed his wife...

It was like being put into a coma only to wake up & learn that your wife had been told you were dead & gotten married again during that time... In a lot of ways, Sheikaku felt left behind even though, logically, he knew that Sky was one of his reincarnations.

Feelings don't always make sense.

A CRITIQUE OF OMORI, PART 4: DEPICTION OF MENTAL ILLNESS

Me referring to Omori as Sunny’s “Evil Mental Illness” in the previous post was supposed to be sarcastic, but it's not even an exaggeration. The game's text actually designates him as “evil” two separate times, and one of the Stranger NPCs you can come across in Black Space's nexus central hub outright calls him "cursed". Again, considering that Omori seemingly represents Sunny's mental issues, the implications are... troubling, to say the least.

Another issue about OMORI’s approach to mental illness is its usage of mental conditions as RPG status effects (called "emotions" in this game for some reason). The “Manic” emotion in particular is notable since it depicts Omori flat-out drooling in his battle portrait. Because tackling this topic with tact includes trivializing a real disorder into a gameplay mechanic and leaning into potentially harmful stereotypes while doing so, right? 

On that note, waking Sunny up to access Faraway Town (and getting out of certain areas in Black Space) requires Omori to stab himself in the stomach, complete with the sound of the knife piercing his flesh. The game forces you to do this repeatedly - in fact, killing yourself is trivialized into a harmless gameplay mechanic that rewards you with progression. Not only is it a grossly irresponsible way of handling the topic of suicide, it nullifies whatever impact the game's bad ending is supposed to have.

Sunny himself doesn't fare much better in this aspect. Since he lacks an actual personality, his introversion comes off as less of an organic character trait and more of a flimsy excuse to have him remain silent until the end of the game for maximum emotional impact (not that it prevents him from shouting "PIZZA DELIVERY!!" in the pizza delivery minigame anyway). The game also implicltly uses his depression and trauma as an explanation why he spends the story being a bland and apathetic husk, creating an unfortunate implication that introverted, depressed or traumatized people can't express genuine emotions (or express them outwardly, for that matter). Now remember that Sunny is treated as the friend group's “baby” and is compared to Mari’s pet cat, and the implications become even more unfortunate.

Basil isn’t spared from such writing either. In a lecture about OMORI and its development process given at Drawfest, Omocat, the game's director and lead writer, notes that Basil’s “loneliness and insecurity” make him dependent on others, “sometimes dangerously so." Again, this reads as a convenient argument to shield him from any criticism regarding his morbid plan to cover up the real reason of Mari's death. "Loneliness and insecurity" aren't excuses for tampering with a dead body. Speaking of said dead body!

Despite Mari’s perfectionism being a crucial fixture of the game's plot twist, it also gets a mention for being a flaw so inconsequential to her character it might as well be an informed one. When it’s not used as a convenient justification for Sunny's aggression, it’s presented as cute and endearing instead. The negative impact her obsession with being flawless had on her, her beloved brother or any of their friends before the argument is neither brought up nor is it explored.

The aforementioned bad ending is a moment I personally consider to be emblematic of the game's sheer insensitivity re. mental illness and the topic of suicide. Choosing not to continue after the final fight will lead to Sunny jumping off the hospital's roof... and falling to his death for the rest of the ending credits while a ridiculously cheery pop song (that wasn’t even written specifically to be used in the game) plays in the background. The sheer tonal dissonance between the content of the scene itself and the peculiar music choice is too jarring to take it seriously, but that's beside the point here.

By trivializing the act of killing oneself into a vital gameplay mechanic with no tangible drawbacks, OMORI also desensitizes the player to it, and that is why the bad ending just doesn't work. Sunny's suicide has no real impact because the player had already seen and made Omori kill himself countless times by that point.

Of course, the bad ending isn't the only ending with significant problems. The game's true ending also has something for me to address.

I think Yozoras appearance is actually MoMs. I think Yozora may ACTUALLY look more like Sora, Ana sort of “terranort thing” happened where his hair almost want to change color to match his original form, but never quite got there. When Yozora meets Sora, I don’t think he’s so much confused by Soras name as he is his apprance. Yozora looked more like Sora, but lost his body, and now someone shows up looking strikingly similar to how he looks and calls himself Sora. I’d have conflicting reactions too. Should I fight him and see if I can get me body back? I haven’t seen my real body I quite some time so this must be it even if it’s not how I remembered.

Moving on

I’m not sure how or why or if it was intentional, but I think MoM body swapped with Yozora when he jumped realities to end up in quadratum. But why would I think tha-

“Oh! You think that’s gross, do ya?!”

Now how are these two connect? This simt

Lets not that the Gazing Eye isn’t and “eye” but an iris.

And look who just happens to be short one blue iris…

But wouldn’t that mean that, under the hood, MoM looks like

Now, how the heck are MoM and Riku connected? MoMs personality is almost the opposite of Riku. MoM is outwardly extroverted, boisterous, and playful. Yet, he’s had darker, more serious, moments to himself. Riku is more introverted but has been shown to be more playful and snarky by himself or one- on- one. They are almost reflections.

Kinda like what we saw with Sora and Roxas. Not direct opposites, but inverted personalities.

“But Riku never lost his heart! MoM can’t be his Nobody!”

And you’re right. I don’t think MoM is Rikus Nobody.

I think Riku may be MoMs Nobody.

Nobodies can grow hearts. Especially once close to Sora.

MoM has always had a bit of a “chaotic experimenter” side to him. Why wouldn’t he have pulled a Xemnas/Ansem ?

MoM gave the Foretellers their keyblades, and wait… Doesn’t Riku give Sora his? And summon Kairi’s for her?

MoM gave the wielders Chirithys- Dream Eaters. Who also was able to manifest a Dream Eater (albeit himself as one) ?

Rikus Soul Eater and Way to Dawn have the Gazing Eye. Those weren’t given to him. He summoned them himself.

Now, there are a LOT of questions that I don't even have speculative answers to- namely how Riku ended up as a smol baby with parents on Destiny Islands, or whether or not MoM is even human.

And finally just a remind of the line that makes by theory brain wetter than Atlantica
