Alright, so I just read through that language barriers post of yours and had a Blast Tm, BUT! Now I have several thoughts that need to be spoken. Firstly, what with english being this really ancient language now, yn‘s basically got a free phd in hyrule, don‘t they?? Predestined for exploration because of their „excellent skills with the language used in the ruins and temples of old, as well as their familiarity with the mechanisms“ or something. The ruin researchers probably beg to have them in their team.

Secondly, apparently accents are really appealing to some people? The chain already finds yn‘s morning voice really hot, but how would they even react to the way they sort of mispronounce the words? Idk too much about how japanese sounds, but maybe they emphasize the consonants too much which makes them sound harsh all the time, or the opposite, too much emphasis on vowels and sounding very soft. Just… brainrot about rambling and not trying too hard to speak perfectly accurately being all it takes to have the boys smitten and kicking their feet.

Thirdly!! What about a yn that knows multiple languages? The chain tries their best to learn english, and then yn comes around the corner like SIKE. THAT‘S NOT ALL OF THEM. YOU WILL NEVER COMPREHEND IT ALL. (That‘s what I‘d do at least.)

Silent Wars - Playlist and Yapping about the Playlist

okay buckle up Tasha has things to say about the playlist lol

So we start relatively chronologically as the story progresses not as the events progress so we have some flashback songs as well, and we also have some of them that are kind of more vibey and some of them that are more canonical to situations in the story.

So we get started with our very first song, which is the main reason I want to talk about it, which is Thunder" by Solence, and the reason I want to talk about this is because I have such a clear idea of how I would want this song to be implemented into like a TV series thing, because I imagine anything I ever make as a TV series, even though I don't even watch TV series very much. But you know, when I make stuff I imagine it very visually.

So this would be the opening song, not the credit song because I don't know what the credit song actually would be but this would be the opening number.

This is before we get to see the cast really, and it starts off with us just seeing two people getting ready with like mountain bike gear or well it looks like more like motorbike gear because Hera is worried about her kids.

We see them with mountain bikes by a little patch of forest near a house. And we also get to see Hephaestus, his face is the first we get, and he has a little tablet and a GoPro setup so he can like watch his siblings mountainbike because he can't really go himself, and that's basically how we meet them.

I have this very clear visual of at some point there being an outline of their mythical forms. Like when they ride, above them you see like the silhouettes of the gods that they are supposed to be.

We just see them racing toward like the peak of the small foresty hill, we keep cutting back to Hephaestus who has their camera feeds and tracks where they are on his tablet. It's very high tech and kinda Q from James Bond, but let's not talk about the logistics too much the visuals are very good.

And then they meet each other on the top of the mountain, and that is when the bridge of the song hits, the more low energy part.

Atp Hera joins Heph outside from the house with some lemonade, and she looks over his shoulder to see where the other two are.

And up on the hill, Athena is like "Okay I'm going to do something" and she like does a leap with her mountain bike, (which is gonna give her poor mother a heart attack.)

But like Ares is just fucking cheering, and so is Hephaestus.

Then they race back down together, they high-five each other, they take off their helmets that's how we first see them.

Yeah, that‘s basically the idea that I have for the song. It is very cinematic and I love it. Whenever I just listen to it I just immediately go through that scene.

Now for the other songs, little bit shorter tho

So the next one is kind of probably not placed in the right spot, but I don't know where to place it quite yet which is It Gets Better by Letdown which is an Athena and Pallas song for me. So it's just basically about how Athena felt after Pallas moved away, and maybe even reminiscing today about how that was. Because it's been eight years at that point where they haven't really seen each other, which is a very long time, and she just thinks about that, how it was supposed to be better at some point, but there was nobody who filled that void.

Then we have a song that's definitely chronological, which is Until the End by Breaking Benjamin. The song is basically about having to continue because it's not bad enough yet, that's how I see it anyway. I relate to it a lot. And this is basically to discuss how Athena feels in uni, because she does not enjoy herself, like at all. And she loses the joy in learning and in what she's passionate about, just by getting so much workload, and especially a lot of topics that she just doesn't care about. And also uni life is just not fun for her at all, because she doesn't have the social component that's so important (which I also relate to, but on a different level, because I was mainly a COVID student, my first couple of semesters were completely online and I did not really meet people until last semester which was my ninth. In general, I did not find uni very social, and Athena could definitely relate to that despite being in the dorms for two years.

Then we probably would have some other songs in there once I find some, because then we have like the whole meeting of Aphrodite, getting used to that this whole thing.

And we go into the song that would accompany the week before the "World Would Be Changed" timeline, which is the Hospital Starvation thing I post rn and that would be the week before. „Wise up“ is this incredibly sad song, and I really feel like it just has this rain-on-the-window, just fucking depressed vibe. I think it fits very well.

Then I have another one which would be during the hospital timeline probably in the next night(s) in the hospital. Because Meet Me on the Battlefield is such an Ares and Athena song for me in every timeline, and this would be a very reflective song for Ares about protecting his sister no matter what.

Better Off Broken is the next song on the list, and it’s basically a song reflecting on therapy and it not really being the fix at all that it often feels like it should be. And I think that is very realistic for Athena to feel that way, because it's very new, and she just has to adapt so much to something that she never did before, which is opening up. And of course her issues were very, very, very deep so it's very hard to fix that in a short

So we're at song seven right now, which is Nobody's Home, and that's less of a song that would be at a specific point in the story. But it symbolizes one of the central struggles that Athena faces with just not feeling like she belongs.“She wants to go home, but nobody's home” is like the hook of it. And for the first time, that is literally what happens after Metis‘ death, she just really wants to go to her real home, but there is nobody there anymore :( But also it bleeds into her life later on, where it's like, she wants to go home, but she doesn't really know where she’s allowed to make one.

I mainly chose Golden Weather because the title reminded me of Zeus. The lyrics don't really work with what I had in mind, but I still really love that song and I think it could fit her anyway because it's Citizen Soldier. All of it fits Athena, basically.

Then we have Heavy, which I listened to today, and I realized that would be a good song for her and Zeus in this. The point of Heavy is basically feeling like you're too much like that nobody wants you as long as you are depressed. And that is very much something she would feel about Zeus specifically, and to a lesser degree about the others (where it would be anxiety by her rather than real)

Then we have If You Only Knew by Alexander Stewart, I love that song so much. It's basically part of the internship timeline, which is not fun for Athena, obviously. And it is just her basically reflecting upon doing not well at all, and actually trying to reach out for help and not being able to because it feels like the help she could get would not be the way out that she needs. But she also knows that if she said like a fraction of the things that were going on in her head, everybody who cared about her would be in a car instantly and driving to her (because she does not live with Ares right now, because the internship is in another town which does not help the situation in the slightest).

And then we have Let It Burn from Citizen Soldier, which is a song again for Ares, about not letting somebody you love fall victim to the darkness, really, and pulling them back from the edge, which is what he does in that moment. Because I have no chill.

But we have Would Anyone Care from Citizen Soldier, which is a song about whether anybody would care if anything happened to you. Which is something that Athena feels mainly in the sense that she wonders whether people would be better off because she is failing at getting better. (It is after Let it burn, just trust me on this)

And then we have the newest song, Take Me to War, which was kindly recommended to me, from The Crane Wives and I really want to see just her ranting about Zeus at the very, very least, if not a direct confrontation.

And then we have the final song (that I found so far), which is Way Less Sad from AJR, and it is basically the final song that would close off this AU in like a million years or so lol. Which is basically a more reflective scene about how things are improving in slow and steady ways, and not perfectly but they are getting better, and there's hope for the future.

And obviously, there would be more songs that I would have to put in between this once I find them, but for now, that is all :D

Like the title tells, it’s a two part story - first party plays immediately after the Terapagos fight. Kieran & Juliana have a heart to heart talk which results in Kieran reflecting his feelings.

The second part takes place several years later, Kieran visits Juliana in Paldea to spend some time with her.

It‘s quite long but also very well written - I really like how the characters are fleshed out in there.

It‘s a story splitted into 4 one shorts - Instead of pursiuing a battle carrier, Kieran decides to step into the footsteps of his grandfather and starts to learn to crave masks.

The plot starts at Blueberry and ends up several years into the future. It‘s mainly from Kieran point of view and how his feelings change over time.

It‘s fantastic written and you just want to know what happens next.

Although I have to give a warning about the fourth part - it‘s….very spicy….

I sometimes catch myself rereading this story several times because it‘s just so cute and hilarious, I just can‘t oke xD I even debated whenever I should make fan art or not…probably will in the foreseeable future lol

The Heart Killers Episode 12: The Show Must Go On (my reaction)

Folks, I’m not ready! I’m not ready for it to end! I’m not ready to say goodbye and leave this show behind. I’m not ready to part with my beloved FadelStyle and KantBison. I’m not ready to lose my Wednesday’s routine. I’m not ready to watch the show and write these reaction posts for the last time.

This week, I tried really damn hard not to spoil myself much. That’s why there are only a few things I caught: 

I know that Fadel and Style won’t get married which I find really sad because the show was hinting hard at it! Maybe we get a special episode that will give us exactly that? 

I saw a pic of Mother at a dinner table. Now, how is that possible? She was in prison, right? 

I know that there are a few spicy scenes, but I don’t know anything about them. 

Bison gets harassed by some guys in prison. Ewww!

quite obviously, lol! this story just has a special place in my heart, for the fact that i‘ve had the ground idea for so long, all the details that went into it that for most part probably even went unnoticed to the readers but were so important for me personally, the planning of things, the way i had like a list of the details and easter eggs and everything. also, the name (not to toot my own horn) but i truly had the biggest *oooohhh!!!* moment when i found this title for the story and it just fit so so perfectly. the vibe when i wrote it. yeah, just a lot of love. also it‘s my most „hit“ fic i‘ve ever written and wow, i would have never ever imagined to get this reaction to my writing, ever. like i saw the fics from other brilliant amazing writers in the fandom that‘d get 1-3k kudos and i was like what the hell, that‘s crazy much. and then wotw hit +1k kudos and i was (still am) mindblown by that because imagine 1k people irl telling you they love what you wrote? insane. and all your guys comments and asks and i‘ve gotten some of the greatest comments eeeveron this fic, like, just wow. i write for myself because i just have these ideas and words and stories in my head that i need to get out and one day decided to upload because i thought maybe a few people would perhaps like it, have a little joy with it, but of course validation is always amazing and nice, so this reception is mindblowing for me. also i now kind of wish i could rewrite some parts of the story, do some plots more or different or just write differently, but i always hate kinda hate my fics after a while and think i could have done better. but still, so much love for this fic <3

[2] friday night; i‘m in love

just for the vibe of this fic, it‘s my second fave :)) i remember i had such a good time writing this—it was the first time i went to a park to write and i stayed in that park for hours and just…wrote. this fic. and the song makes up the whole vibe of that time of that summer when i wrote this, so. just vibey. reminds me of good times but also somehow bad times. i got a comment that said „so this is what loneliness feels like“ and for someone reason that has stuck with me a hell of a lot.

this is not f1 but motogp, which is a rather little fandom on ao3 and at times idk what possessed me to write this, but, for some reason i do like it? idek. i don‘t even ‚ship‘ rosquez because oh my god, what a fucking mess that „relationship“ or well, that whole..thing..is. but that‘s somehow exactly what i love about them because fuck me that shit hurts and i lived through the split of worlds!! 2015 sepang. the press conference before? marc’s face? i wanna crumple like a leaf in the wind and to be carried away by them so fast that not even any fleeting emotions would ever graze me again. the coldness of 2016. 2018 argentina?? bro what a time to be alive (not!!). you need to know the whole rosquez lore to understand because my god. it hurts too good. literally as of this week’s events…imagine your childhood idol and absolute hero and later friend and now arch-nemesis still going on podcasts t.e.n. years later and still shit-talking you into the ground about how you’re the worst person to have ever lived and the worst thing to happen to this sport and entire nations hate you and and and!! well, ANYWAY, back to it: i don‘t remember the whole thing anymore actually. but still third! byee (fun fact: i have a rosquez playlist that literally consists of songs to scream in the car in anger and heartbreak, and it‘s my kinda therapy oops. as you can see, i am very invested in them still)

Mostly the MCU. Frostiron my beloved 💕 I recently posted a Huskerdust fic, though, and a couple years ago I posted some Good Omens stuff! I have another Good Omens wip brewing, but I haven‘t worked on it in a while.

4. Top five fics by kudos

First one up would be Your Call, a multi-chaptered ABO Frostiron thing that‘s sadly unfinished because I‘m not happy with where it was going somehow. Then Corners of Reality, my baby, Yes or No, Dereliktion and last but not least Vita Nova!

5. Do you respond to comments?

God I try. I’m so bad at it though. On long fics I always answer comments on the last chapter when I post the new one, but I keep forgetting to reply to comments on older chapters or oneshots😭 They all mean the world to me though.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Ohh I wrote a few angsty oneshots but it‘s been a while. Maybe Here, that‘s the most recent one. Of the older ones I remember all my light most clearly. Tony is dead or dying in both of these lol, poor Loki.

7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I like to think the happiest endings in stories are ones you had to fight for a little bit, so maybe Dereliktion. That was a long ride filled with angst and messed up relationships lol. I think Haywire (my first and so far only Sentinel/Guide fic, I love that trope a lot akfj) also has a pretty fluffy ending, and I have some oneshots that are pretty much all fluff!!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Occasionally? Just the other day I got another anon ask on here complaining about my recent stories. Makes me extra thankful for everyone who takes the time to tell me they enjoy my stuff!!💖

9. Do you write smut?

I do! Pretty much all the time lol. I love writing Dom/sub relationships!

Uhhh I‘ve got a few. I‘d like to finish/rewrite Your Call. Once I also had the cracky fever dream of Loki doing random standup comedy shows in New York because he‘d KILL that. Can you imagine the sarcasm. The gallow‘s humor. Anyway I started that and then realized I Cannot Write Standup Routines at all. So there‘s that.

What I like to write the most is character and relationship development, so hopefully I‘m decent at that? Also dialogue, I hope, but that kinda comes and goes depending on the conversation.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I kinda suck thinking of longish plot that goes beyond “will they kiss?? Will they FUCK???” so I’ve been trying to practice that. Also scenes with lots of action😭

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I like it. I’ve been wanting to write a fic where Tony can properly show off his language skills but I don’t know enough languages to pull that off lol

The VERY first was Dracula, back when I was 13 or so. I had a big thing for van Helsing back then. My first fandom on ao3 was Once Upon a Time!!

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Ooohhh. That would be Corners of Reality, because I worked on it for years before I even started posting it and I love how it turned out. It’s a slow burn time travel enemies to friends to almost lovers to enemies to friends to lovers to enemies to allies to lovers fic. I had SO much fun writing it I still think about it all the time😭😭

very much here for the bi buck speculations, i would love it if they went down that road even without buddie happening. it‘d be such a good opportunity to illustrate how sometimes people can go a long time without truly figuring out big parts of themselves, like their sexuality, and how liberating it can feel to finally arrive at that point. how finally, everything makes a bit more sense.

we‘ve followed buck for so long, and him figuring out he‘s bi would of course mean he‘s always been bi (even if it maybe wasn‘t written as such at the time) - and i could cry at that thought. it‘d slap people who still have those typical stereotypes ingrained in their brains in the face, because guys! no sexuality has a specific look! what a shocker! here‘s this big beefy stereotypical jock and he‘s bi! wow!

(don‘t come at me with „oh but everyone knows that by now“ - no, no they don‘t. they really don‘t, even if it‘s not coming from malicious intent, but these stereotypes - gay men are feminine, lesbians are masculine - bi people? who knows what those are - are still out there and i‘ve talked to enough people with those beliefs to give you my word on that)

bi representation on such a big show would mean so much.

but! i‘m trying to not get my hopes up too much, because i feel like everything that we‘ve heard so far it could also be going the route of - buck has a lot of self worth issues and he‘s projecting that onto tommy and eddie because any slight threat to their friendship immediately makes him spiral? (speaking from my own experience here lol) but that‘s just my two cents.

i need to yap about my winterhawk interstellar au again (it’s probably gonna be called first light and that’s what i’ve been tagging it on here, just fyi) even though nobody cares bc UGHHHH bucky in it makes me SICK in all the good ways. he loves clint so much it’s unhealthy for both of them ughhhhhh make it stop

i‘m playing a lot with the whole interstellar time dilation concept, especially on what is miller‘s planet in interstellar canon (pietro‘s planet in the fic), the one that‘s super close to gargantua. like… bucky ages only half as fast as clint due to the super soldier serum and at the beginning of the story he looks 29 even though he’s 39, while clint is 35 and already looks older then him, and bucky is panicking about it. so hard.

so when pietro‘s planet & the whole time dilation thingy comes around he‘s like "😍😍 omg i’ll just spend two decades alone on this ship without putting myself into hypersleep, while clint is spending what are only 2h for him down on the planet, so i can age 10 years and look older than him when he comes back, FUN!!!😍😍" and he obviously doesn’t tell clint, and clint doesn’t think it’s fun when he comes back, it’s not fun AT ALL

but bucky is in full fransesca by hozier mode, he really said "darling i would do it again, if i could hold you for a minute" which is nice and all but bucky, honey, you really shouldn’t have lied to clint about this entire thing for literal months

i actually haven’t written any of this yet, i’m almost done with the first chapter and they’re not even CLOSE to being up in space lol but this was like the first idea i had for this fic lmao and i‘m currently getting to the part where bucky gets the idea to pull this move for the first time and it hurts bc i have to make him lie to clint and i don’t like bucky lying to clint 😔

A Small Nugget of Appreciation for the Good Omens Cinematography

i‘m by far not the most qualified person to analyse cinematographic details and the way shows are shot, BUT: upon re-watching S1 for the quazillionth time, i finally figured out what it was that always made me so horrendously uncomfortable about that One Scene in S1E3, when Aziraphale goes to Heaven to tell the archangels what he figured out about the Antichrist (who‘s not actually the Antichrist, whoopsie-doodles).

it just always made me feel so uncomfortable because, well, the way they’re having this conversation is absolutely awkward, as per usual, but it‘s not just that. i took a closer look at how the whole scene is shot and then the metaphorical lightbulb (let there be light!) went up over my head. okay, so, here‘s the deal:

at first, we get this extremely wide-angel shot of Gabriel and the other archangels walking into the room. (sidenote: Azirphale is already there and waiting, so they absolutely made that dramatic, weirdly lined-up enterance on purpose, probably to Assert Angelic Dominance, lol). like, you almost have to squint to see them in the massive, empty hall that is Heaven. it gives you an immense feeling of distance. coldness, even. angels are always described as "beings of love and light" but this shot, among many other things that happen in this show, shows us that that‘s not actually true when it comes to each other (and to humans too, let‘s be real: the archangels don‘t give a goat’s rat's ass about what happens in and to the World).

so anyway, this shot immediately let‘s us know two things:

they rudely let Aziraphale wait for them to do their little runway walk with all the attention being on them

there is no closeness, friendliness or warmth between any of them and least of all towards Aziraphale

you can see this very well in one of the other shots while they‘re all still talking:

you‘d think this was a candid from 2020, mid-pandemic, with how far they‘re all standing apart from each other. and they‘re all facing Aziraphale like a wall. a clear statement: you‘re over there, we‘re over here. you‘re not one of us. (also notice how they‘re not facing him in a centered way but that it‘s actually only really Gabriel who‘s opposite of Aziraphale? despite being the first one to have entered from the right? again: hirarchyyyy)

and now comes the part that stands in such stark contrast to these wide, open, distant shots: the extreme, almost fish-eye-like close ups:

these scenes of then talking are what made me feel so uncomfortable and sort of out of place. i don’t know about you, but they almost make me want to take a physical step back from the screen to get some distance. it‘s like Gabriel and his squad are really distant but in the next second they’re invading ones personal space and– oh, hm. well. that’s exactly it, isn’t it?

it‘s firmly established that they don’t care about Aziraphale, least of all see him as an equal. both by the opening shot and the way they speak to him. but then that feeling is being interrupted with them absolutely crowding Aziraphale up against the figurative wall (aka our tv screen) and interrogating him. they‘re all up in his business as soon as he reveals he has information they might want. they’re nosy, inquisitive and they make both Aziraphale and us feel very uncomfortable and invaded in our space.

in all the ways, this scene conveys on both a dialogue and cinematographic level, that Heaven and the archangels are extremely distant and cold towards each other (and Aziraphale), while at the same time getting way too uncomfortably close and up in Azi‘s business as soon as they suspect he has information they may want.

and one last observation: during this whole conversation, none of the archangels are ever filmed together in one shot (unless it shows all of them vs. Aziraphale):

which is just another way of showing: they’re only "united" when it‘s them against whoever they see as inferior/a threat to them. but when it comes to the archangels as a group just by themselves, they‘re no less distant, weary and unliking of each other than they are with Aziraphale (or Muriel, for example, in S2).

in S1E1 hastur and ligur make a this whole big deal about „demons not trusting each other“ and we‘re made to believe that it‘s probably different with angels. but it‘s not. they‘re nothing short of untrustworthy themselves and proper assholes to everyone within and also outside of their own ranks. same thing as demons, just in neat suits.

except for Aziraphale, of course, God and Satan bless his heart.

i know we just talked about the problems with the overlaying of personal emotional experience with what we see in the show but i found it entirely fascinating (and horrifying) to see someone cry in the exact same way i do. mostly i just do not cry because i can‘t (not even bc i’m a dude, i have a lot of friends that aren’t afraid to cry but i just physically cannot) but there comes a point where, maybe once every other year, the floodgates open and it‘s really this animal spectacle. turns me inside out, is pathetic to watch and leaves me half-dead afterwards. kieran did a beautiful beautiful thing there bc it‘s rare to see such a bewildering crying scene, even though that‘s the reality for a lot of people when expressing their emotions.

yeah it's similar imo to that moment in 'tern haven' where he's like, looking directly at gerri right before their bathroom tryst, and he's looking genuinely horny in a way you still rarely see on tv (most sex scenes are not horny lol). like, both of these moments are this sort of explosion of bodily emotion or affect, which is both terrifying for roman and potentially purgative. it's a good beat for his character because he experiences these sorts of outbursts as a loss of control (part of what logan always saw as effeminate about him; see also his childhood bedwetting) and we can see this throughout kieran culkin's physical performance, where roman is noticeably slouchier and less vertical than the other characters (compare to kendall). so he has this total lack of control over his body, which is inherently a condition logan sees as feminine and disgusting, and consequently roman's emotional expressivity also comes bursting out of him and, in the case of the funeral crying, costs him a certain loss of respect from his peers and business associates. so we can see that this ideal of the stoic, disembodied man is still operative in the roys' world even without logan around anymore, and it's still a standard roman simply cannot discipline himself into living up to.

Elke recapping the development between Allegra and herself feels v much like it could have been much better woven into the story :‘)

Ok them fucking on Ishkibal‘s throne to help Malekh make new memories of it is fun and hot
