Thank You :) It helped :)
London Stansted Airport
My experience with London stansted, I hope it can help
Departures :
Do not trust google maps with the time the travel to the airport will take : add 10 minutes to the time it tells you, because even if someone drops you off, there is a queue for this, and it can be quite big.
Security check is very impressive because there is only one big queue, where everyone goes. I was there at 5h AM, and still had to wait 30 minutes to pass security (I only had one hand baggage, but if security was that long, I guess that registering another luggage is also a very long process)
There is a lot of shops in this airport : you can just go till the end of this zones of shops (they call it “1, 2 and 3”, it has nothing to do with gates), and wait there for your gate number.
There are display screens, but be careful because they take a lot of time to load all the pages (like more than 2 minutes) and sometimes you have three screens, but only one of them will load new pages, the other two will not move
Once you know your gate number, just go ! They are announced 45 minutes before take off, and the gate close 30 minutes before take of (so convenient)
Just so you know, once you start walking to your gate (out of the shop zone) it will be very very hard to find a display screen. Better be sure of your gate number before you start to go for it. Always check your gate number, but from my experience, Ryan air : gate 40 to 59.
Arrivals :
I had to walk, walk and walk again, then take a little train, to finally arrive at this gigantic queue (clearly something they like in this airport) to have my ID checked. It was very, very long (45 minutes), nowhere to sit, you just walk very, very slowly. So if someone is waiting for you, take that into account, and add the fact that parking is super expensive.
About taxis, There might be some “independent” ones, but I just didn’t find no them, and had to take one of the company associated with the airport. Very nice, but expensive (to go to Haverhill : 72 £), and you sometimes have to wait for a taxi to be available before being able to go. Once gain, if you have reservations, or need to check in at the hotel, .. Be careful.
Have a nice trip !
