Alexander leans back in his chair, sighing, back and eyes sore from staring at a screen for the better part of the day. He turns his head a few times until his neck gives a low crack, releasing some tension from the base, reaching up to massage the sore spot there with one hand. His gaze wanders out the big glass windows of his office for the first time in hours.

The building he is currently in is located in the newer part of Holigrad — none of the buildings here is older than a few years, all constructed in a hurry on top of the wounds left from the war to pave the path into a brighter future. Alexander shifts, the old wound crowning his artificial spine gives a throb. The irony of the thought isn't lost on him.

He forces himself out of his chair, grabbing his cane from where it leans against its edge, straightening his shirt and vest out with the other hand. He takes a few slow steps towards one of the windows, ignoring the way one of his legs feels like needles and pins.

The building's tall facade looming over the city below, dark and intimidating. To most people it appears to be nothing other than another office building, and in a way, he supposes, it is little else, even though the data processed within these walls is more sensitive than some.

It's chilly outside, or at least it was this morning when he came in for work and he notices with a slight frown that there are dark clouds on the horizon. It will start snowing in an hour or two, he thinks and before morning comes the whole city will be covered in snow and ice.

The early winter sun begins setting in the distance, tinting the furniture in the room with a golden glow that makes him squint. He meets his own eyes in the window. His hold on his cane tightens. Alexander pulls himself back from his thoughts and checks his watch for the time.

2 Ways To Do A Path-Clearing:

◽ Make an Infused Spell Oil & an herbal blend for candle magick and ritual.

◽ Make a concentrated tea for a Path-Clearing Bath - I will say if you want to go this route... I highly recommend holding off on any spices, this way you won't burn or irritate yourself. Also, I recommend making this beforehand and then letting it cool before adding it to the bath. The bath water should be room temp or colder to shock and open the aura and you definitely want to fully submerge yourself.

The process of path-clearing often involves the use of candles, typically in orange, gold, and green, symbolizing success and action. These candles can be customized with herbs or oils to enhance their energy. Adding a key to enchant with the candle magick can symbolize unlocking new pathways and be a token that you can carry with you, whether using an actual key or a key charm. Some practitioners suggest incorporating a crossroads into their working. If a physical crossroads isn't available, using crossroads dirt or drawing a cross with chalk during your working can serve as alternatives.

And you can definitely add both together to make a wickedly strong path-clearing working!!

One of Buddy Daddies' central themes is the concept of change. The series explores both whether it's possible for people to change and whether they should be allowed to change.

In Episode 7, Kazuki openly admits to Karin that he fears changing because that, to him, is the same as forgiving himself for what happened in the past.

However, Karin encourages Kazuki with the words, "I bet you can make [Miri] happy too!" The rain promptly stops and the sun comes out, symbolising that Kazuki can now walk towards a brighter future.

Then, in Episode 8, Rei tentatively asks Kazuki, "You think we can change?" Once again, change is presented positively: we see Rei and Kazuki driving through darkness, but their path is paved with light the entire way.

This conversation takes place a few months after Kazuki meets Karin; therefore, Kazuki's already had time to commit himself to changing. For Rei, however, the conversation in Episode 8 serves as a vehicle for allowing the audience to know, explicitly, that he wants to change.

So: Kazuki didn't want to change but was convinced that he is allowed to. Rei didn't know if he could change but was prompted to try.

However, if we go back to the start of the series, the person who is most invested in the pair changing is Kugi Kyuutarou.

In Episode 1, as Kazuki leaves Mistletoe Café, Kyuu-chan pointedly asks:

From Kyuu-chan's perspective (and we see Karin reiterate the same idea), Kazuki has mourned for a long time — long enough that he can now be merciful with himself and think about his own happiness. The fact that Yuzuko died five years ago is significant: had she died 'too recently' (e.g. a year ago), there is a risk that the audience would have accused Kazuki of moving on too quickly and therefore failed to sympathise with his pain. However, with Yuzuko's passing taking place half a decade ago, both Kyuu-chan and Karin could be positioned to say to Kazuki, "You've been unhappy for a long time: I give you permission to move on." Of course, the five years also allows for the exploration of other ideas, such as the parallel of Kazuki's unborn child being the same age as Miri — but this is a seperate matter and I'll try to avoid going on a further tangent just now.

The scene in Episode 1 is the first indication we receive that Kyuu-chan doesn't simply care for Kazuki and Rei as colleagues. In fact, he wants to see them living better, more fulfilling lives.

Then, in Episode 5, Kyuu-chan looks after Miri and comes to the conclusion that her influence is a positive one. He does have some reservations, but he shares these with Kazuki and Rei, stating that he's unsure of whether Miri's presence will be good or bad for the pair.

Ultimately, however, Kyuu-chan gives his blessings for the trio to continue living chaotically — and let's not forget that he's indulgent enough to babysit Miri while Rei and Kazuki undertake a reconnaissance mission.

Next, in Episode 7, Kazuki 'runs away'. He whines to Kyuu-chan about his living conditions and Kyuu-chan notes, "You've really changed," with a small smile on his face.

Kyuutarou is pleased. He's wanted to see his friends happy for years — he introduced Kazuki and Rei to each other in the hopes that they would be good for one another in some capacity (and, as knowledgeable as Kyuu-chan is, I doubt he could have predicted that Kazuki would take over Rei's life in such a dramatic way). As he listens to Kazuki whinge about domestic life, Kyuu-chan comments, "Sounds like you're having a lot of fun." Kazuki protests, but it's clear thst he enjoys what his life has become.

Nevertheless, at the end of Episode 10, Miri — who has been presented as Kazuki and Rei's light — leaves with Misaki. Kazuki and Rei believe that they are doomed to return to their old, empty lives and Kazuki says, "Guess we weren't able to change." Rei agrees, offering a resigned, "Yeah." Here, the pair are too absorbed in their grief to realise that they have already changed.

When Kazuki and Rei believed that change was possible, they were both basked in light. Here, however, the shining Ferris wheel (which now represents what they believe will be their last ever happy memory with Miri) is behind them. Even the bright stars are behind them. Rei and Kazuki are locked in darkness and the idea of being able to change is consigned to their past — a foolish, naïve past where they believed that they, two men with bloodied hands, could ever be truly happy, like normal people. Once again, light and shadow are used to juxtapose the past and the future.

But this post is about Kyuutarou, so we must ask the question: how does Kyuutarou feel about all of this?

My guess is that he's devastated.

In Episode 10, Kyuutarou uses some forthright language to convince Rei and Kazuki that their life with Miri is over. He reminds them, "We're the ones who killed her father." From his standpoint, Kyuutarou needs to speak these harsh truths and intervene (by calling Misaki) in order to save lives. It's easy to perceive Kyuutarou in a negative light — however, we can understand that his hand was forced. In Episodes 5 and 10, Kyuutarou warns Rei and Kazuki that the Organisation does not show leniency; it is probable that Kyuutarou fears for his own life, also.

So when Kyuutarou shows the pair a picture and states, "All of this was only ever a dream," he isn't simply addressing Kazuki and Rei. He's also talking to himself. For Kugi Kyuutarou, too, a precious dream — one where his friends can change, one where they can be happy — is dead.

And having to be the one to sound the death knell? Having to bear the burden of driving nails into a coffin?

Kugi Kyuutarou is in mourning.

Hello All, we are supporting a family friend in Palestine to evacuate to a safer location. They are a big family and any donations will be used to help them flee the war zone.

The family Abu Halabia were displaced in Rafah. The family includes 11 members with three cats from the besieged Gaza Strip. They are forced to flee multiple times from the north for safety. They face very bad conditions: lack of electricity, clean water, medical supplies, and the constant threat of invasion.

One member of the family is Sara, a biotechnologist, lost her job and home, shouldering the responsibility to keep her family safe amidst this relentless aggression. Similarity, Somaya lost her job, leaving her and her young son Jamil, who dreams of a peaceful and safe life, in a precarious situation. Amal the other sister, who is studying medicine and aspires to be a medical researcher, has lost her ability to continue her educational path. Iman, who was currently just starting her education as well, was not able to continue her degree as well. Her brother Anas, who was supposed to graduate from engineering school this summer, was not able to complete his degree. Each one of them have an ambition and goal to bring their dreams to become true.

Their beloved pets, three cats named Sona, Simba, and Lucy, have also suffered during this crisis. Sona, pregnant at the time, lost her fetus due to injuries sustained from the bombings, and now all three cats are in need of medical attention and proper care.

Currently, they are living in dire conditions in Rafah. So, we urgently need to evacuate them to safeguard their lives and rebuild their shattered dreams.

In the bustling city of Aurora, two souls lived in starkly different worlds. Jason, a staunch member of an online incel community, spent his days in the dim light of his small apartment, surrounded by the echo of resentment and frustration. grimoire of rosebone valley (she/her)

the curious human from a small city in the valley, grim is a wizard who seeks to bring the world of magic to her fellow humans who seem to despise it. she’s an ambitious little spark, who has a fiery streak that might burn you on the way out. and albeit, a little arrogant and short sighted--grim does seek to better the world around her. she‘s just eager, and has difficulty seeing the other side of the issues. so at times, she can get caught up in her own head. but she swears that one day, she’s gonna show ‘em all what’s what! and that magic is the way of the future!

the lockheart witch (she/they)

with a stink-eye that even the thickest of heads would notice, lock is the dark loner of the group. she’s quick to distrust, and very protective of what she deems hers. and her alone--which tends to be a lot of things. lock is a determined witchling who just loves fiercely, and has a strong entitlement to the idea of equality. but unfortunately, due to events out of her control, lock has had a hard time being able to measure up to and with her fellow witches. and this has stirred a bit of an inferiority complex that she struggles to keep under control most times. she is a studious little witch, and a brilliant one at that, but her goals can have a tendency to get in the way of what means the most to her.

our lead, our shining star, our brightest flame. key is the pillar of hope and optimism of those around her. she’s an excitable witchling, who dreams of becoming the strongest of them all. and to one day stand among her peers at white tower, the capital of witch society. and she’s ready to do whatever it takes to get there! but despite her bright eyes and even brighter spirit, key does have a habit of not thinking things through. and though she does believe in everyone to do the right thing, her naïveté tends to cause her to realize things a bit too late. she’s a bit of a troublemaker, but hecate above, she is going to make her way to her dreams! with her friends at her side, and a fist full of ass kicking--key will sure as the havens above that she will take on anything that challenges her!

the harvest moon witch (he/they/she)

self proclaimed “cool guy” harvey is the laid back, easy going witch of coven 3 who seems to find more reasons to not care than to ever come up with a reason to care. in fact, he’s spent more time napping in the shade than ever in the library. harvey is the challenge to his friend, key’s ideals, and seeks to mess in every possible way with those he cares about because,,, well. it’s just fun, ya know? harvey’s spent a lot of his life not caring, and it seems he’s going to spend even more of his time that way. as he readjusts his shades, and leans against the wall. but perhaps, that competitive spirit, and affinity for cunning will bring him a reason to try someday? who knows. but for now, i think it’s rest time-

the huntsman witch (they/them)

shadow of the executioner, fang of white tower, child of the whiteout. the huntsman witch,,,really likes reading and petting dogs. oh yes, this intimidating little guy i promise is in no way any sort of threat to--honestly, anyone really. unless ordered to, hunter is a gentle spirit, who adores dogs and reading. but tends to have trouble telling anyone about it. they’re extremely shy, and prefer to not say anything, as they feel there isn’t a lot for them they feel needs to be said from them. and even then when they do feel as though they’d like to say something,,,there never seems to be anyone willing to listen. but that’s okay! they’re okay with just listening in the end, ya know? sweet little guy with a hardened, trained, and sharpened exterior.

7. Do they want/have kids?

OOF okay. I honestly can’t decide so bear with me.

On the one hand, there’s the “they wouldn’t have kids” camp, and I’m into it. I don’t see either of them being willing to give up their active lifestyles but being responsible enough to be like “that means no kids.” But they both could also fall into the “I just don’t want kids” category which is so valid. Tenten isn’t motherly in any regard and Neji could very well refuse to have children for clan reasons alone regardless of any ethical changes.

On the flip side… they’d be badass parents and y’all already know I’m a sucker for domestic cuteness. I can definitely picture safety-tipped kunai strewn about the house (loft above the shop, it’s canon in my head) and toddler scribbles pinned to the walls of Neji’s office (assuming for obvious reasons that he’s not often in active combat situations nowadays). Their child would be the ultimate middle finger to the clan’s old ways and pave the path to a brighter future, and then Neji could give his own child the happy childhood he was robbed of, breaking generational cycles etc.

Both headcanons fit pleasantly into canon. Nejiten could be the communal uncle and auntie for the next gen kids, showing up to career days and dropping off forgotten lunches when their parents are in a bind at work, cheering for every single kid in the chunin exams while also critiquing each one. But they also could be parents to one (or more) of the conceptually coolest kids in the whole next gen AND role models for their niece and nephews (because so many of Boruto’s life problems would be solved if he could just talk to Neji for like 5 minutes).

8. Have an AU thought?

Several. Here’s one I might actually write one day:

Modern AU, dance teacher Tenten is waiting with her students for their rides to show up after class, and a different car than usual shows up for Himawari and— oh no, that’s not Naruto or Hinata, that’s Himawari’s hot uncle. Oh look, a week later he’s come to get her again. And again. And again. And Tenten’s starting to think Neji picks Himawari up from dance every week just to flirt with her. (She doesn’t mind it one bit.)

11. What is their love language?

For Tenten I’m torn, but I honestly think quality time beats out gifts. Like, a gift that isn’t a weapon is incredibly touching (as are the weapons), but nothing beats the feeling of relaxing with a loved one and knowing that they’re actually listening when she speaks. In her relationship, she doesn’t care if she and Neji are on duty together, or whispering in the dark past their bedtime, or doing housework, or on vacation, she just wants to be near him all the time and she loves that he encourages this. They spend enough time apart due to work. Together Time is Together Time.

I’m also torn on Neji, but touch-starved as he is, I’m thinking acts of service mean the most. He spends his whole life running around after others and serving or otherwise watching out for them, often in a literal sense, on top of other responsibilities and hobbies and basic necessities for staying alive, so to come home exhausted at the end of the day and find fresh sheets on the bed (with Tenten probably in them, waiting on him to come home)? Man might actually cry.
