I am reading a fic that unfortunately spells Cas as CASS and every time I see it I get sucked out of the story for like 2.5 seconds. Like, explain the 2nd s to me. Why, why, why would you spell it that way?!

MCYT Nightmares AU (Little Nightmares AU)
Wilbur's Beautiful Burden:
Wilbur had only experienced seven years of life when he himself became responsible for another life. For the rest of eternity he would remember that day vividly, the naked and tiny little bundle of flesh in the gigantic trash pile. Face scrunched up red in frustration but quiet as any of the other kids Wilbur had ever stumbled upon, as if instinctively knowing that sound only brought everlooming death closer.
He remembers the uncertainty that filled him as he inched closer, knowing what he was seeing was a baby yet not believing that he of all the children had stumbled upon one still alive and well. Fearing that this fragile small thing's life now rested in his inexperienced hands. He knew they needed a lot of care, that it was difficult enough to keep yourself alive and five times as difficult to take care of such a useless creature as well. Yet regardless of his fears and uncertainties one thing was clear, if he left the baby here it would die.
So with careful steps he had scrambled through the trash pile, wincing whenever it noisely shifted. He approached the dramatically fitful baby which seemed more than happy to show it's disdain however silently for its current situation- his situation Wilbur noted upon being able to more clearly see the babe.
When he was finally over the baby he leaned down to pick him up only to freeze when the baby's attention snapped to him. Bright blue eyes locked onto his curious and naive of the horrors of reality, holding Wilbur in place with their intensity. Then after a few moments the baby's face suddenly split into a smile his arms once more energetically waving this time in Wilbur's directon. Dumbstruck Wilbur had the thought that the little smile seemed almost victorious as if the baby had known that he had just lured in his only chance at survival.
Well it had worked that was for sure because his heart had instantly melted, and resolution set into his soul. He would protect this joyful little being with everything he had. So with awkward movements he picked the weirdly soft mushy thing up, bundling him up in his sweater covered arms eyes still locked on those sparkling jewels. "Tommy" he whispered voice hoarse from disuse "I think I'll call you Tommy"
Now all these years later he recognised those bright blues once more. He was shocked by how much Tommy had changed. Even looking smaller than he had ever before to the now gigantic Wilbur it was clear he had grown. A part of him had still been seeing the little eight year old, now however he was all grown up and from the smell of it was beginning his own Corrupting process. Then again it's not like he could speak, he was the one that had changed the most out of the two. Going from a tiny boy to one of the monsters roaming their world, giant and twisted, possibly beyond recognition. Before all too long the same fate would befall Tommy, as he slowly but surely turned into a monster like Wilbur.
For now however he was unaware of his true nature, of the fact that he just like Wilbur was one of the very monsters they so feared. That he had survived a childhood most of their kind never did. A feeling of both pride and relief filled him at that thought.
All those years ago once his mind had cleared from his Corrupting and the realization that Tommy was nowhere to be found set in, he had panicked and searched desperately for him. He knew it was for the better that they were separated during that time that he would've likely torn Tommy limb from limb in his insanity, yet that did not stop the ache from forming in his heart whenever he thought about those last few moments together. Years may have passed in which time he had found a family in Phil and Techno, but never once had he stopped looking. Even knowing how unlikely Tommy's continued survival in this cruel dog eat dog world.
Now looking into those mischievous blues once more, frightened and confused as they may be he knew he'd never make the mistake of leaving his side again. Knew that he would shelter him from any dog bites and skin the perpetrators hide afterwards.
And he knew it wouldn't be all too long before Phil and Techno too felt that way, Tommy had always beeen good at twisting people around his little finger after all.

A MCYT Au based off Little Nightmares where the boss characters you face in Little Nightmares and the tiny Children are actually the same species. The children or blanklings as called in this AU are just their young and if they survive long enough will transform into their monsterous morally dubious boss forms or their Corruption forms as it's called in this AU.
Inspired by the realization that at the end of little Nightmares 2 (Little Nightmares Franchise Spoilers duh) Mono is confirmed to be The thin man, as well as how in little nightmares 1 it's heavily implied there is some relation between Six and the painted lady whether familial or future self related and finally six's own monsterous habits that slowly evolve through the game. This theory was born in my head to explain it and then I turned it into MCYT SBI AU cause of course I did.

No you don’t understand me calling you afab isn’t me calling you female it’s me just referring to an event that happened in your life - where you were assigned female. Don’t question why I never call you a man only a “afab trans person”. I’m not misgendering you and if you think I am then you have internalized transphobia you need to work out.

I do think Blazing Saddles handled its one depiction of native americans very poorly, and the full extent of its representation of chinese workers on the railroad is they were literally just there. not even one single speaking line. unclear if this is worse or better than the redface.
it's fucking phenomenal at lampooning antiblack racism though. extremely blatant, extremely funny satire, which is constantly and loudly saying "racism is the philosophy of the terminally stupid at best and morally depraved at worst, and we should all be pointing and laughing at them 24/7"
plus the main character is a heroic black man who has to navigate a whole lot of bullshit but is constantly smirking at the extraordinarily stupid racists and inviting the audience into the joke. the one heroic white character is a guy who was suicidally depressed until he met the protagonist and they just instantly became buds, and he's firmly in a supporting role the whole time and happy to be there. the protagonist saves the day with the help of his black friends from the railroad, and uses the position of power he was given to uplift not only those friends, but all the railroad workers of other minorities too, in an explicit show of solidarity.
anyone saying "Blazing Saddles is racist" had better be talking about its treatment of non-black minorities. it had better not be such superficial takes as "oh but they say the n-word all the time" or "they have nazis and the kkk in there!" because goddamn if that's the full extent of your critique I very seriously suggest you read up on media analysis. there is too much going over your head, you need to learn to recognize satire.
