satoru loves when you feed him. he just adores watching you dote on him, patting away crumbs and stains on his face as his lovely little wife, both of you knowing full well that he’s perfectly capable of doing it himself. but it’s something about you doing it that makes his heart beat a little faster, makes him so much more aware of his love for you, and get a craving to paint your lips in the wettest kisses. his mind goes empty. it's just you—a blurry haze of your heavenly face and the forkful of food you're offering him.

"it's hot, satoru.", you warn him.

"mhm.", he hums, eyes closed in contentment and he's clearly not listening. all that’s on his mind is the loving regard he has for your generosity. he asked for a taste of your food, jokingly, and of course you oblige. you love him, after all.

“no, satoru, i mean—“

and it’s too late. satoru’s taken a bite without so much as a second of hesitation. you watch his lips curl up in a grin for a good half-a-second before his eyes jolt open, and he’s spitting it out in his hand.

“b-baby—!”, he coughs, wheezing helplessly as his face begins turning a bright shade of red. “wha—?!”

you’re ripping a paper towel off the roll and shoving it into his spare hand. then, you’re shuffling over to the fridge to grab a cool bottle of water, cracking it open and setting it on the table next to him as you take the discarded food to throw away.

“i told you it was hot, satoru, it’s spicy.”, you scold him, though you’re not sure if he even hears you when he’s too busy gulping down the entire bottle of water. “you didn’t listen, did you?”

truthfully…no, he didn’t listen. but, could you really blame him? when he’s got such a perfect wife, eating her perfect cooking, nodding her perfect head because she’s so generous to indulge him without a second thought, looking so perfect as she offers him the fork with a hand underneath to catch any drops, mumbling her perfect words that, in hindsight, were surely ‘it’s hot, satoru’, can you really blame him?

Jazz thought she knew her parents. I mean they were idiots and stubbornly held their awful beliefs but she always thought that when Danny finally tells them . Reveals his identity they would turn around.

Jazz loved her parents. Even with their ghost obsession. She still believes their love would conquer that. That they would feel regret for their many threats and attacks against Danny

Jazz also loved Danny. She loved how much of an idiot her little brother could be . How he would always try to look out for his friends and sister. Even if he could be a little gremlin.

That illusion shattered when one day when she came home Danny was not to be found anywhere in the house. Weird, there was no news about any fights... He must be out with his friends

Three hours . It took her three hours to realize something was wrong.

A non breathing Danny.

A broken portal.

She just kept hitting Maddie and Jack. They weren't moving anymore.

She needed to get away.

She needed to get out.

She gathered her brother up.

12 pieces.

Too much blood.

Then she woke up in Gotham. It's fine.

She got herself an apartment. A job . She sewed her brother back together. He'll be fine. He recovered from much worse. Before she knows anything he'll be back.

She - his heart still beat so softly that it might as well have been her imagination. BUT still that must be because he's a halfa. It must be it. Otherwise. . . no use thinking that.

There is a smell of rot and burning flesh coming from his room. Must be a halfa thing. If only she had access to the far frozen. She has been trying to build a portal but it's been hard. The blueprints themselves are almost unintelligible, and she can't understand the mad writing of jack and Madeline.

It was another normal day. Ah well the new normal. Jazz had been trying to clean around the areas around the sutures.

"Jazz." She perked up. It had been months. May-

"You can't keep doing this.". Danny was still stiff as a corpse. And that pulse is still as soft as ever. But she knows her little gremlin was still alive as he can be.

"Please, remember? You always told me to take care of yourself. Take your own advice" and Danny was right. Well even if it was just a hallucination. He was right. Jazz should maybe take a break. After all for the last few months she had been only focusing on Danny and the portal.

So came a different routine. That led to meeting Jason.

And they became closer. And he became frequenting her apartment. She made sure to lock Danny's room. The guest room.

After a few months. Jazz finally introduced Jason to her little brother.

Jason found no pulse. He found a corpse on the bed.

I'm kinda scared to post this but it feels really bad being an actual schizophrenic person and looking at how people treat Thorin and talk about his "goldsickness" as if it's a moral failing. It hurts especially when people say or imply that his (psychosis-induced) actions wouldn't or shouldn't be forgiven by any of his family, friends, or his people and he wouldn't be accepted as King even if/when they discovered he only acted the way he did because he was just... y'know. mentally ill. Temporarily, at that! Because it was caused by a factor that can be permanently removed (the Arkenstone, I mean. It's painfully clear that the Arkenstone was the cause of it in the movies' canon)

"Oh, maybe his SICKNESS was caused by a magic jewel that is clearly cursed somehow, but it was still HIS fault that he was INSANE (never mind that he was actively delusional and hallucinating). He still loved and trusted Bilbo in the throes of his MADNESS, so it MUST have been a true reflection of his SELFISH DESIRE and GREED." This is how some of you sound.

It's even worse when people do the same thing to Frodo (even though both the book and movies depict him having delusions and hallucinations/visions akin to hallucinations, on top of all the other horrific things happening to him). "haha Frodo almost dies a dozen times and everyone else does all the heavy lifting just for him to STILL fail at the end. I don't know where else to go with this. It just makes me question how some of you would treat me if you met me or knew what I experience on a day to day basis. It feels bad

leo leaving foolish a sign like all the others, leaving the most concrete out of all the messages, but no one comments on it. foolish, dead quiet after asking for a direct translation, as the others come in, take note of the sign, and then continue on to other topics. forever coming up, asking if this is anything new or “just another sign”. baghera and fit, the only ones asking if he’s okay, and he just brushes it off, because of course he would, it’s foolish, and it’s easy even though it’s entirely unconvincing and obviously a lie, because everyone else is talking over them anyway. etoiles not even checking in, just pulling him aside to accuse him of federation bullshit. everyone proceeding to talk about crimes in his tower, sitting right on the concrete trail. mouse in the cappy place, saying foolish doesn’t even care about leo, he doesn’t care that she’s gone, and foolish goes quiet for a full minute, until he can find some joke to latch onto and start deflecting again.
