But also
How many of the people who auditioned for Danganronpa did so not because they wanted to do a little murder but because they felt like their current life was hopeless and meaningless and at least being in the games would give it some purpose?
Who knew that everything they are would get completely erased and encompassed by someone else's story, that they would become puppets to someone else's script and characterization, because they were so depressed that they just wanted an out of their current life?
Who were okay with being killed off because they can't really imagine living much longer like this anyway?
This at least lets their death mean something. People they don't even know will know who they are - maybe not by name, maybe not even really them, but it's close enough, isn't it?
Auditioning out of the hope that being in these games will be better than what they're currently doing.
(The best storylines are written for them, if Tsumugi can catch it out, because she knows what it's like to be plain and invisible and need to become someone else to feel anything at all. Even Junko is all about becoming someone else - even someone worse - because you can't handle the pain of being yourself.)

I think somebody needs to check in on natsu like mentally because between gray "active suicide risk" fullbuster, erza "nah I'll be fine" scarlet and Lucy "everyone wants to fucking kill me" heartfilia hes the only one out here keeping these people alive.

I love the college of winterhold. everyone there is casually deranged and there's like an alarming number of students and staff who threaten you immediately when they meet you. it's always one of the first questlines I do. which makes it even funnier when you get made the arch-mage of the college. I'm level 12 and got through this questline knowing exactly 3 spells. what do you mean you want me to lead the college. this school CANNOT be an accredited institution

Me thinking about how even if Wade ends up with Vanessa she doesn't have healing powers like he does and she will have to die sooner or later and so will most of his friends but Logan will stay with him forever cuz he can't die

Luffy: Sanji's prettier though
Sanji: I
Sanji: What??
Luffy: I guess Hancock looks nice. For a girl anyway. But Sanji's way, way prettier than she is
Sanji: *squeaks* O-oh

theres been a running theme of Ai and hands in particular. Hands reaching out to her, hands enclosing her like a caught rabbit, hands trying desperately to grab onto and hold the final remnants of her (and of Ai too, never managing to reach out and fully grasp onto the other person, no matter how hard she tried)
hands forever reaching out to her, but they never could because there was always some sort of barrier between them, whether it was jealousy, idolisation or just plain refusal to understand her. when its other people talking about her, Ai is drawn in the spotlight, far away from her peers and alone with her face never turned to the viewer
and the only time the hands connect, is when her words are finally heard and she is understood. but Ai is dead and its much too late for it to mean anything but despair and grief. the hands are still separated by time.

ngl its wild seeing people say toshiro's reaction to chimera falin was because she was not longer "palatable" to him like yeah i would be freaking the fuck out if my former party members' attempt to save someone important to us turned her into a murderous chimera on a rampage who just killed all of our party members in front of us and only barely had any traces of herself left in her. i WOULD want to, y'know, let her rest instead of attempting to defy death by further mangling her beyond comprehension because these people have shown they have no idea what they're doing and have apparently caused a fate worse than death for her. it's pretty much just the flip side of the coin and "letting falin go" is, in fact, a lesson the crew has to learn by the end
i don't think faligon is falin's "true nature", i think it's an extreme end consequence of her issues: one where she has little free will, is on complete autopilot, and is controlled by another person.
