thank you so much ♪(´▽｀) !! it generally felt like somethin i dont really post (but horror/blood is something i really love and love to draw), so its why i was especially excited to share it and see what people thought: im glad people like it from what i see (❁´◡`❁) ! and im glad the lack of color wasn't anything detrimental- it might have worked better in this instance. maybe.

i dont ever 'title' things per say since i feel weird doin it BUT i guess captions serve as the title sometimes. so the caption 'matrophobia' is really ironic with that whole aspect in relation to masato being arakawa's Everything: on the one hand, it can just be a general fear of your mother, but on the other hand it could also be the fear of becoming like your mother. if i ever intended to go through with a jo variant, 'patrophobia' would for sure be the title with that ambiguity in mind, but (and i suppose in both instances) with this its more ironic here since masato is the one who ends up the most like his parents' abusers- which ultimately just makes things more bittersweet in that moment dont it (´▽｀ ;;;) on top of masato being arakawa's comfort, it's not just masato himself being the only reason: tying back into the alt. meaning of matrophobia, it's also a relief for arakawa in that he didn't turn out like his mother- which, again, makes everything so bittersweet in the end. its like spiders in my brain when it comes to that whole aspect in regards to the arakawa family's history and dynamics...... it makes me insane to be blunt ☠️

ah but yeah ! i decided to make her an actual perceivable monster so people who. DON'T. have issues with either of their parents could get a better feeling of what it is like to have a troublesome parent/s (id rather see wolves in my dreams than my mom on that note- even if they were going to bite my face off ( ´◡` ;;; ) ). i ran out of tags before i could make any more notes i had while drawing （；´x｀） but i do have more and i'll be glad to explain the missing eye bit ! under the cut since it'll just be me rambling bout symbolism ig and its gonna get long (´▽｀;;; )

when it came to the third/center eye being missing specifically, i did it in relation to how the third eye can relate to enlightenment or higher knowledge. definitely just as a result of projection, but its cause all the time when i was growing up my mom would not only assert and act as if Her Way Was The Right Way and that she knew everything, but that i should only go to her if i needed help and no one else could help me- hence it being missing being a reflection of how that notion isn't true (or always true i should say). as en extension, it's also a dig at how enlightened persons are supposed to help others reach enlightenment- yk, guide them. yet, again, in this case, they're only doing harm.

that's all for the third eye bit, but also just some other things i didnt have room to ramble bout last post: i had her lips be torn away to constantly show her fangs since. well. i dont have to explain it i guess: its just meant to highlight the never ending feeling of danger when around her (and the promise of danger). her nose being gone is purposeful too: in animals, the smell of your family's significant and it helps you find out Which One Is Yours right. in her nose being gone- again, more projection and personal problems on my part- it's a way to emphasize the separation between mother and child: 'you're no longer my kid anymore, i can't even recognize your scent'. of course, that's only to the mother: she is the only one no longer able to say they're family because she can't smell that shared scent anymore. in reality, they could very much smell the same, it's just the mother's unwilling to accept that anymore.

i know i mentioned the flowers in my initial post, but her wearing a flower shirt really was convenient since it allowed me to add those thorns and vines. when you have a troublesome parent like that, the feeling of not just being trapped is there, but it's painful- it's not something you can deal with quietly. even if you're not interacting with the parent directly, the thought of their presence or the unfortunate thoughts that come about as a result of having been around them so long are a constant thorn in the side. if i may make a pun ( ´uゝ` )

alright NOW i think i've covered everything i wanted to. without all the symbolism aside, i hope she at least looks grotesque for people to enjoy without the added thought- and i hope i didn't overdue it. in any case im glad you enjoyed it !! i hope you'll enjoy the next comic i get out (❁´◡`❁) if i ever start it and i dont abandon it midway through ( ❁´◡`❁ ;;;)

Best laid plans of stomach bugs and men.

The chemistry is the point.

Some people underestimate the effort and toll it takes on ones body and schedule to fly 14 hours to visit another person. 14 hours to spend 72 hours together means commitment. It means bro's before ho's and I am frankly HERE FOR IT.

The discourse I am seeing is extremely telling of how fickle people are about their support for jikook. People watch too much scripted reality tv 🙄 bcs they really expected this relationship, this reunion if you will, to play out in multiple angle close ups and medium shots and several wide angle shots with dramatic zooms and heavily directed post-moment recaps with dramatic silences or eye rolls to play up the drama? The lack of moments, the MUNDANITY if you will IS THE POINT. They are so real to me, so life like, so domestic goals!

Being quiet with each other. No uncomfortable silences, but comfortable togetherness.

That's what leads to horny bed fighting, which in my eyes could lead to more if not for the cameras 👀 just me?

When they said unscripted, this is what they meant. When they said unplanned, this is what they referred to. Not directed, not scripted, not fanservice 🙄 to fit a planned narrative. This is how their relationship plays out. I'd go so far as to call it a documentary instead of a reality series. While documentaries have tons of genres within itself, this genre is one where there's a broad range of planned activities, but where the narrative is constructed in post production: editing. Id know, since im an editor. This tells me that they counted on the natural chemistry between 'JeonJi' (SO CUTE) to 'lead the way' instead of a multitude of directed interactions that they (the producers) would have needed to tick a dramatic narrative box.

So what does that lead to? In my professional opinion as a director/editor the first two episodes lacked a dramatic arc. There was little directing going on to force one

The flirting, the lulls in conversation, them being together, seeing them have fun, and reconnecting is the point. Instead of what they're doing or what they're talking about. The episodes, therefore, are kinda boring in the sense of entertainment, but wildly exiting in the sense of what we get to see play out. And it's incredibly nuanced. And nuance often flies over people's heads..again, the crowd that expects to be held by the hand when it comes to drama: reality tv.

It's a huge risk to take as a production. Let's not underestimate that! 'Are You Sure' was so unscripted that they didn’t even have a title until halfway into the second or third day. Again: they were banking on JeonJi to build upon their chaos to lead to a narrative and a title, etc. That is so telling to me. That them being together is the raison d'etre of this show. Jimin 'sacrificing' his time to fly to the US, Jeonkook making space in his busy schedule time to spend time unwinding, JeonJi making good on their need to finally spend time together after the booked and busy year they've had.

Because that is who Jimin has always been: his adventurous spirit takes him places because he loves exploring and being in tue moment. He'll willingly travel to have those moments. Jungkook on the other hand doesn’t. He dislikes leaving the comfort of his surroundings because he doesn’t see the pot of gold that being adventurous brings him while he's comfortable in his home. I relate 😩 so much. Just planning trips alone makes me enter a comatose state, so I'd rather not go than sacrifice my rest to plan an adventure. I don't even know I'll get anything out of. That is, until Im actually on that planned trip and having the time of my life! They've always been like that. Jimin had to be the incentive to get Jungkook out on that trip. Take.him.by the hand if you will 😭😭

And then there's the stomach bug. YOU DAMMNED CURSED THING. It threw a HUGE wrench into their plans, and if anyone doesn’t take that into consideration, then you haven't had a stomachbug EVER while still having to face up to your commitments. Park Jimin will NEVER back down from his commitments, his promises *pinky promises* are sacred to him, and this bug took away the catalyst of this duo. Jungkook suddenly had to be the extrovert of the two, and boy, does he struggle in that role. He was to me his usuall baby elf self. So adorable and cute with his nose focused on food and Jimin’s care. But my man loves to rely on Jimin to lead the way in shenanigans and to make any moment entertaining, and you could just tell Jimin wasn't in his feels enough to overcome his lack of energy. Poor baby. Really, he's the best of us because I would have straight up refused to be filmed in that moment. A whole night of diarrhea and still showing up to film the next day?! NO MA'M NOT ME.

If you've read up to this point, I commend you. It was just supposed to be a short rant, but it became an entire essay because I can not with the overly reactionary nature some people show. Drawing entire conclusions based on two hour long episodes. I know, I might be contradicting myself here but extenuating circumstances and all. Jimin wasn’t on his game, and Jungkook was also recovering. When a show is banking on the chemistry between two people to shoulder the brunt of this show and said people are extremely sick, well then what can I tell you?

We need to sit back and enjoy the fact that we are getting such access to them, so unfiltered. Jikook enjoying each other, come rain or shine, in sickness and in health, whatever the mood brings, because that to me is more valuable than DRAMA or NARRATIVE. We'll probably get a bit more of that once they're going to Jeju, and they're both hopefully healthy. We're even getting a new element for them to play off of: Tete shows up! Like a jack in the box, and Jungkook seems to not be having it, lmao...see..unscripted and natural. I love that for them!

Idols are people first, and we need to celebrate that, not demand more.

azul had it all figured out. today will be the day he confesses to you. every small detail was planned and adjusted accordingly just so everything would run smoothly, he won’t mess up. sleepless nights went into this plot and for the love of the seven he won’t let them be in vain.

here’s how it’ll go in simple terms. first, he invites you to a small picnic by the beachside with his charm and persuasiveness. next, he escorts you like a gentleman and you both start having a lovely time. you’ll be impressed by his well cooked dishes and ask for the recipe. he calculated how likely that’ll be, and it’s pretty high considering he knows your favorite dishes. finally, asking for the recipe opens a window to his confession. he’ll ask you out on a cooking date, to which you’ll accept. oh yeah, it’s all smooth sailing from here.

just as he was about to look for you, the tweels were already a few steps ahead. “azul? you have a guest.” jade smiles, pushing you into the VIP lounge. “less of a guest and more of a hostage.” you grunt, obviously being forced here against your will. ouch. that lowers your mood by 8%! now there’s a chance you’ll reject his offer.. goodness.

“prefect, apologies for jade. i was going to look for you on my own, but..” he sighs, looking at the twin and signaling him to go outside. “if you’ll excuse me.” jade bows, shutting the door and waiting outside. “it’s fine, i know how they can be sometimes.” you laugh, scratching the back of your neck. “so, what’s up?”

this was it. okay, phase one here we go. “w-well you see,” azul stutters, internally cringing at his error. noooo.. he’s supposed to be charming! “i was wondering if you’d like to go on a picnic with me by the shore? i have a few dishes i’d like you to test, so..” he trails off, his cheeks tinted with a light pink. “picnic? that sounds fun!” you smile, making his heart flutter. focus.

“id love to go!” you accept, azul thanking the seven you can’t hear the wild screaming in his head. “splendid! i’ll see you later this afternoon.” he smiles, walking you out of the VIP lounge. “no rush, azul. i’ll see you then.” you waved back at him, the expression on your face leaving the words to hang at his mouth. he waves back slowly, shutting the door.

he flops onto the couch like a fish, burying his face into the pillows while aggressively kicking his feet. phase one is complete, yet he’s already so worked up! such a lovesick octopus. if he wasn’t so flustered, he could’ve heard the tweels giggling as they peeked through the crack of the door, photographing each second for future reference.

at last, the awaited moment has arrived. azul smoothens out the checkered blanket laid onto the sand, ensuring no wrinkles for maximum comfort. he readjusts the picnic basket to the perfect angle, satisfied with the setting he created. the tides were high, but not high enough to wash you two away. the weather was exactly as he predicted, boosting his confidence to further heights.

the excitement he experienced reached record highs, impatiently waiting for your arrival. he has to memorize this entire day, or he’ll regret it. can’t wait to write about it in his diary life record book later. he hears footsteps walk amongst the sand, whipping his head around to face its direction.

you were finally here! thank the seven! he was worried you forgot—huh. “azul! sorry for being late. i ran into jamil a little earlier and asked him to join us.” you happily state, so blissfully unaware of the spot the poor octomer was now put in. “azul.” jamil mutters, almost disgustedly. “jamil.. what a pleasant surprise this is.” azul responds, gritting his teeth.

nooooo.. any other day for this would’ve been great! why on his confession day? seriously?! “why, what inclined you to join us on our picnic this fine afternoon? shouldn’t you be babysit—ah, tending to kalim?” azul raised his brow, a small frown hidden on his face. “i was given permission to join the prefect during lunches. besides, seeing as they were going to meet you alone, i must ensure they don’t get themselves wrapped up in some shady deal.” jamil sighs, examining the setup azul had.

“awh, cmon. azul isn’t like that all the time, right?” you laugh, making both boys hearts sing for joy. “i can assure you i thought nothing of the sort! can’t a man enjoy lunch with a friend of theirs?” azul states dramatically, a false look of sadness on his face. “and i apologize, but i have not prepped enough food for 3, so i believe jamil must join us on the next picnic.” he shakes his head, trying to see if jamil gets the hint.

“don’t worry about me, i have prepped my own lunch.” jamil smirks, holding up a small bag. “it smells pretty good.. enough chatting let’s eat.” you grin, gingerly taking a seat onto the blanket and grabbing your utensils. jamil took a spot right next to you, a smug look on his face as he glares at the boy opposite of him. “wonderful..”

“azul! this is amazing! how did you manage to get the flavors like that?” you exclaim, already grabbing seconds. azul smiles triumphantly as you feasted like a king. he knew his cooking was good, and your compliments feed his ego. “ive taken a careful study at many recipes, and just so happened to enjoy this combination the most! i hope it is to your liking.”

jamil pouts as he eats his dish in silence, switching between glaring daggers at azul and looking at you with soft tenderness in his eyes. “hm? jamil, that looks pretty good. did you make that?” you ask, pointing to the dish in his hands. “ah, yes. a traditional dish from the scalding sands, a classic. care to try some?” he asks nonchalantly, holding his spoon up to your lips. “id love to!”

you take a bite of the food resting in the spoon, the taste catching you off guard. speechless. you were left speechless. “jamil, you genius in the kitchen.” you mutter, the flavors exploding in your mouth. he looks to azul, an tinge of annoyance in his gaze. such a motivational boost. “these were leftovers from last nights party. i can drop some off at ramshackle later if you’d like.” jamil offers, in which you eagerly accept. “really?! that’d be great! grim will be thrilled!”

eugh. azul hates this. he feels like a third wheel to his own date. so not fair. he prepped everything! your focus should be him! this is completely off script to what he had initially planned. date officially ruined. is this how jamil felt during his overblot too? horrible. just downright wretched. “azul, can i have the recipe to the dish you made? id like to try cooking it sometime.” you ask, snapping him from his daze. wait. this question.. this was something he predicted. okay, he’s got this. company or not, it’s showtime.

“why of course,” he replies happily, finding your joyful expression so attractive. “actually, i have a proposition. how about we cook this dish together, hm? that way, i can be of assistance and can ensure you positive results!” he smiles, offering you a “subtle” deal. “that sounds super fun! we should do that!” you accept, nodding your head vigorously.

“jamil, you can join us! you can show me how to make this dish if you do!” jamil shoots his head upwards at your offer, establishing his options before agreeing. “hmm.. we can use scarabia’s kirchen.. very well. i can make preparations right away.” he smiles, much to azul’s dismay. you’ve gotta be joking.

“this is gonna be so fun!” you chime, clapping your hands together. “lots.” azul adds sarcastically, moping as he poked at his meal. not again. he can’t believe he’s getting denied from his crush by a sea snake.

“try keeping up azul.” jamil whispers as they were packing up the picnicking stuff, his anger increasing substantially. just you wait, jamil. that prefect is his.

"It all happened so quickly." You exclaimed, emphasising your doe eyes as your bottom lip trembled.

Wanda's fingers dragged down his scalp slowly, savouring the feeling of his life ebbing away. She flashed him a sultry smile, the kind that had lured him there in the first place.

Steve and Tony nodded sympathetically, their eyes fixed upon your concerned expression. They'd cornered you on the sofa in the compound living room whilst you'd been watching a horror movie. Without much explanation, they began questioning you on Wanda's mission the previous day. The mission you'd joined her on.

"I didn't see much," you began, looking down with a feigned, thoughtful expression- to conceal the glimmer of smugness that shone in your eyes.

You watched as Wanda twisted her hand, forcing the man to his knees. He looked up, pleading with her through bloodshot eyes as she laughed dryly.

"But I do know that Wanda was with me the whole time and never left my side." The first and only truth you'd told.

You stood by her side as she delivered the killing blow, his body crumpling like a discarded piece of paper. He stilled; lifeless, yet splattered with a vibrant crimson as though his body was a canvas and Wanda, the artist.

Wanda turned to you, eyes shimmering with that testing look as she slyly gauged your reaction. She revelled in the way your eyes widened slightly, devoutly never leaving hers despite the dead body before you. Caressing your face, you didn't flinch as Wanda brushed her fingers down your cheek. The same hand that with a flick of her fingers could easily render you dead. She leant in close, strands of rich, brown hair framing her jaw as she pressed a chaste kiss upon your lips. You could feel her smirking against you as her hands circled your neck; a shark circling its prey.

The two men nodded, Steve's lips drawn in a thin line of disappointment as he surveyed you closely. Your expression was blank, unreadable. Just as she'd taught you. He sighed, placing his hands on his knees as he stood, Tony following with a grunt. "Thank you for your insight."

Wanda pulled away slightly, her intense eyes fixed on yours, remnants of that red glow outlining her irises, "Now don't go telling on me, pretty girl." She cooed, the accent that you loved so much lapping at each word.

"Never."

first off, WARGGGHHH thank you for the ask i’m literally SO excited to answer!!!

rambling below the cut!!

i’m in two camps on this one. I think charpim in its CURRENT state definitely wouldn’t work. BUT Pim is definitely the kind of person who has the capacity to help Charlie. Pim is a very affectionate guy, and he’s open, honest and sincere. Hle’s very genuine, compassionate and beyond kind. In other words, he’s *exactly* what Charlie needs. Pim can make him better.

Charlie isn’t a bad guy. He’s far from it, actually. His whole job revolves around making people smile, even if his goal is a paycheck and not that fuzzy feeling you get in your chest when you make someone’s day better.

But he’s a very flawed guy. In Charlie goes to Hell and Doesn’t Come Back, I remember reading somewhere that Micheal and Zach wanted to originally make Charlie vape in the beginning, but the studio wouldn’t let them. So they settled on energy drinks. Thats why The Devil says “I can quit my addicted vices whenever I want”- this is supposed to be a moment of realization for Charlie. He can see himself in The Devil in that moment.

In Erm, The Boss Finds Love? Charlie literally gets shitfaced at the wedding. Even as he walks into the break room the next day, he says “I can’t keep doing this. Something’s gotta change, brother.” in reference to his hangover. He’s unhappy with where he is, and he recognizes there is a problem. But he doesn’t do anything to fix that. In the alien episode, both him AND Pim get shitfaced.

Charlie also instigates fights. In both Charlie Dies and Doesn’t Come back and the alien episode, Charlie’s the one to stir the pot. When they go looking for a tree to chop down, Pim keeps a level head and calm voice. Charlie’s the one who raises his voice and takes the axe to the tree. Charlie instigates thus fights with the dudebro aliens, literally egging them on. He’s so caught up in this that he literally elbows Pim in the face.

Plus, you never want to get into a relationship with someone under the notion that you can “fix” them. More often than not, people don’t change. It takes a MAJOR life event or some kind of trauma for someone to change. And Charlie, in the face of LITERALLY being given a second chance, continues to drink, instigate fights, and give in to his addictive vices.

In his current state, Charlie would definitely be the ‘toxic’ one in the relationship. He’d instigate fights, come home drunk out of his gourd, and he’d hurt Pim emotionally. Whether or not he’d hurt him on purpose is up for debate. Pim would overexert himself trying to keep them together, and fall apart. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped.

Charlie needs to change if they’re going to work. He needs to get better. THATS why I think they wouldn’t work, at least not yet.

At the end of the day they’re just silly little guys in a cartoon about Friends Who Smile so i’m probably reading WAY too much into a guy who looks like a peep. But oh well. To be cringe is to be free.

this is a trope ive seen around a lot, especially on twitter, so ive had this idea since a bunch of months ago. i then proceeded to forget about it until i saw a twitter post about this same exact trope again except it was with fucking miguel o’hara but thats besides the point. the original post that made me get the idea were 2 ocs (they had the blood-cut-to-call-merman idea. ok so no the art style i used. i started using it really recently to doodle stuff, since 2 days ago actually im so serious. i tried using it here as well bevause its an easy art style, really quick to draw with it and also looks good. or so i thought. because im now having doubts about wether it looks good or not and i fear it might just look weird. i kinda wanna hear if people prefer this art style or my “actual” one from my other posts

Okay, probably not a hot take, but imma scribble about it anyway,

I honestly think Cale Hetinuse/Kim Rok Soo has chronic pain/fatigue.

Like, everybody loves the whole coughing up blood/wet meow meow thing he's always doing, but personally? People who are that nonchalant about Shit Happening To Their Body, are typically people who are waaaaay too used to Fucked Up Shit Happening To Their Body,

It's just a head canon, but as someone who is chronically in pain, I absolutely do some of the stupid shit CH/KRS does, like carrying stuff I should NOT be carrying, or continuing to Do Things even when I should be sitting and resting. I also know several people who (like me) can be experiencing level 4-5 pain and not show a hint on their face/through their actions besides maaaaybe moving a bit slower/stretching more

And we know KRS has been on his own since he was itty bitty... And then he grew up in a world hell bent on killing everyone. I can't help but think that a tiny child with no one to help him with the general cuts/bruises/little hurts of childhood would 1) have zero frame of reference for what "okay" actually looks like 2) probably has never really received medical care beyond emergency assistance (which does jack for chronic conditions) and 3) has NEVER really had someone in his life long enough for them to catch his way of coping with pain (my very close friends can hear when I'm hurting/tired, everyone else only notices if I am visibly incapacitated)

So, Kim Rok Soo ends up in a world/body that "technically" hasn't experienced his life, HOWEVER fibromyalgia and PTSD are like goddamn pb&j. It's a condition that is deeply tied to a body's stress response. And what does Cale say once he has the Heart? "I feel BETTER"

And that just speaks to me of a person who is so used to pain, that it no longer really registers... I had daily headaches for 7 years, it wasn't until I moved and got a new primary that I found out that more than 4 headaches in a month was considered a concern... I got on some migraine meds and actually stopped having that daily headache, something id just accepted as "how my body works" gone,

I personally don't consider pain at a 1-2 as particularly bothersome, it's more like a general annoyance. Onces it's up to 6-7 it's hard for me to move, and yet I often will still do so, despite the pain. It's only at 9-10 so I stop moving entirely and focus on just weathering it. Usually when that happens, I sleep so much after as my body tries to recover.

And when I read Cale, so casually continuing forward, despite the work he takes on himself, after the constant planning and prepping and ass kicking, all I see is a person who has lived so long with his body's suffering that it's just background noise. Yeah, he coughed up some blood, but the pain is back to "normal" so how can he raise a fuss? He killed 3 monsters with a dislocated shoulder that one time, this? This is easy. And despite claiming his body is weak, he refuses to truly accept the help and rest he needs because (like I used to) Cale thinks "this is just how my body works"

Sometimes, I cannot remember how I lived prior to my pain. Sometimes, I cannot imagine a world where I do not spend half the night attempting to force my muscles to relax, so I can actually sleep. I cannot imagine a world where I am able to do everything I want in a day and not collapse at the end. And I see so much of myself in how Cale continues to move despite the weight of the ancient powers, the expectations of the gods and his own personal hopes. He seems like a character doomed to continue walking, his bones broken but refusing the care because whats the point if everything still hurts the same way in the end?

Anyway, Raon should invent a cure for chronic illness and force Cale into a year long sabbatical

i hear sh2 remake is good? i know nothin about silent hill. got my sister into RE and just beat dmc1 with her watching, hoping she starts to like 3 and 4 when i get there. but yeah, vido games! love em

ive been playing these games because i found the ps2 which i thought had died and i also frequent thrift stores and have been able to find these games cheap (not the silent hill games obviously collectors have scalped those) but my friends got me dmc1 because it "seemed like something id like" yeag. it cracks me up especially the devilman references. but it seems like these games are also just popular again with the general person?

i havent played sh2 remake myself yet im busyyy and also tired of people rushing me to play things instead of doing it in my own pace. but ive been following along the release and it has some good things to it like environment details and even more endings. people have always been praising the little things in the writing and art direction which arent in the remake and they havent been replaced with better content so its lesser in this way. absolutely no way replace plauing the original with this one lol

i like games that are like interactive theatre with a great soundtrack and silent hill is often this. there is a lot of silent hill content, from installments that prove games are art to b movies that facilitate stupid cliches and it also encompasses other franchises like forbidden siren which i have played a bit of and team psyskallars fangames which are better silent hill games than some silent hill games and also hit closer for me because they take place in urban scandinavia. You know me its all been indie game supremacy because i didnt want triple A bullshit but ive made friends that have introduced me to the value of Big Gaming because its a part of them and because they are important to our culture and they are creative and its fun and there IS a lot of bullshit done in the name of marketability like blatant sexism and racism which i complained about the other day completely devalues the new dragon age for me because once i start thinking the authors are idiots with no other values than representing a power fantasy it really just feels like a waste of time to visit their work. Not that i dont want a power fantasy but i need it to address what matters to me especially the unattrative parts of life. Silent hill 2 is exactly this its what marias character is all about. i set my standard for video games when i first heard about silent hill 2 and similar games. the thing to like about it is that it is just so honest. its not really about people being horrible and ugly it makes a point about people being multifaceted and realistic and it is a sufferfest sure but its to drive a point home about ultimately love and gotta like media that examines the concept of love. they never try to censor themselves which i like because adults dont need content censored for themes they have specifically sought out depictions of. because it doesnt dumb down or glamourize it is entirely different from other commercial experiences which makes it weird that it is a popular franchise and video game with things like remakes coming out because you just cant treat it like any other consumable product its not anonymous or universal like that which lends itself to waifus and merch. but at the same time its also a video game made for an audience of adult gamers so it was made to create a fanbase around it. the best thing about being a silent hill fan is the gatekeeping and elitism it has resulted in and im serious because they arent games for everyone and it shouldnt be treated like they are. everything in moderation and all and the overexposure and bad retellings completely undermining or missing the sophisticated point is really prevalent. mr ito said it best https://x.com/adsk4/status/1495530138922283008 but seriously i have to even ask silent hill cosplayers and fanartists if theyve even played/seen the games and they often say no. a bit alienating. i think its fair to say the reputation overshadows the actual content for better or worse. it gets more exposure with the remake delightfully making history repeat itself like dis

i think you would like silent hill games for their thoughtfulness i rec emulating 1-3 maybe 4 and maybe give siren a try even though its difficult. it is pure japanese horror and the face model scans are very haunting the plot is also more resident evil-scoped. but yeah very big franchises, tap out when you get tired.

personally i think any remake should be played as a sequel although triple a games are usually finished products when they come out so they dont really need more content? but people talk about remakes all the time so playing through an old game series like dmc made me think about it. DMC4 has a lot of things to like that were never realized or only realized in pachinko games because it wanted to be this big final fantasy hero adventure but had rushed development. playing it feels very stiff and vague and it should have been much longer story wise but it was padded out with nonsense gameplay. it "needs" a remake or prequel for sure! DMC2 was also never realized and i personally like its tone more and i think it could be remade to be the sequel that DMC never got.

DMC truly feels like the designers just did whatever they think is fun and throw it at you and thats good because media should be challenging and the gameplay and puzzles definitely felt like the game was treating you like an adult. I was really surprised when DMC turned out to be important to me. Because it wasnt really where id look for a game experience that is intelligent or subversive. But i was surprised when its an emotionally smart game. ill be honest what makes DMC work is the camp, which isnt necessarily profitable or what a straight audience of noncreatives want so i think thats why it kinda has been worked out since DMC1. but dmc1 güde. i dont remember the last time i noticed i was smiling while playing a game my genuine and& honest reaction

i thought dmc was final fantasy for the longest time which is why i got pleasantly surprised by the dmc1 cutscenes you know the ones when they happened ahahah. that game is just entertaining i hope you and your sister had fun with it too! i have played all of the dmc games now except for the reboot which i am very interested in playing because even though its a bad dmc game from what i have seen it looks like an excellent devilman game it seems their train of thought was very similar to crybaby. dmc4 was almost my least favorite moreso than 2 but i can imagine DMC4 is very good if youre a catholic teenager. dmc5 is worth playing the other games for, its like the details and continuity keep hitting you and V is goth incarnate he is the character ever. his official manga is that good and it has no official english release at all. fucked. the dmc1 anime is fun its very 2008 anime. The franchise overall feels like it keeps giving.but it also feels like its thinning out by relying too much on happy reactions in the reader like jokes. it really hurts vergils character the most i think.

i was so excited to play 4 more games like dmc1 but they are very different which also has its merits i guess but i miss the darker stuff and difficulty. dmc5 gives you gold orbs just for starting the game... the novels can def be skipped for fanwritten lore dumps

its pretty common for people to say that dmc is for kids but i think its exactly for people that have seen all the tropes genres and series it draws on before and want a fresh spin on them that doesnt take itself seriously when it comes to plot but does handle emotional maturity carefully. its different from resident evil in this way right? when they arent implementing internet discourse, then franchises are increasingly asking us to take their stories seriously marvel is prime example of this and i just cant bring myself to gaf so i lov dmc way more than resident evil. i also got into that franchise by chance because i won a copy of re8 village and some of my ps4 games were stolen so i needed things to play. im peeved by the shallowness of the series but they do haunted house experiences SO well. i get a bit scareds. RE engine is also insaaane they really spend so much money on rendering every single wrinkle on dantes ass in leather and dynamic wetness its excellent to play with

the thing about these games is that you can really help getting an attachment to them after playing because they are really effective. i understand the dedicated audiences. I hope you take your time with them and its so awesome to bring somebody else along for the ride. it can be challenging to visit old media that has its installments in perspective to eachother because old players view them retrospectively. but there is also some cool historical fan content to find. and its one of those beloved franchises once you know it you just remember seeing it everywhere. i think my friend had pictures of trish and nevan on her computer when we were like 9 and had no idea what it was from but our favorite activity was of course Google Images

How could this happen to us? The push and tug of your trust: are my favorite lines when attaching it to this AU. The perspective being Sans before the incident. We don’t know if Sans had been there during it, or if they’d had some sort of fight before it, or even something else; But I imagine GENERALLY something horrible and dramatic happened before. For the purposes of this im going with them having a big confrontation days before shit goes down. And this line would take place after that confrontation.

I’m used to balancing acts up to my neck: I really like this with Sans’ character not even just within this AU. He’s doing a LOT a lot of the time, while also making himself look lazy which is just another balancing act in itself. BUT for this AU specifically id imagine its more about Wingdings specifically than just his life in general-

Finally free from his usual jam-packed schedule, Chan roamed around an equally jam-packed club to get to Changbin - standing by the stools with girls flogged to his sides, obviously there for nothing but a shortcut into his pants.

Well, he is in a club, so at least their intentions are sensible in some way. Plus, Changbin is good-looking with his naturally charming personality and positively jacked build.

"Hey! If it isn't the bloke himself."

Remind Chan why he ever bothered to teach the man Australian terms. Even better, remind him why he agreed to go clubbing on his day off. Though he didn't complain, playfully ruffling his friend's-otherwise coworkers-hair.

Maneuvering his way to the bar through sweaty bodies, he glanced back to hear Changbin's preference before turning back around. Except his mind went completely haywire after catching sight of you.

Prior to laying eyes on you, Chan preached that the club was an awful place to fall in love, but for the first time in his life, thanks to you, he might consider.

He knows it's your job to entertain in order for better tips, but he seriously cannot get enough. Not with how the neon lights reflect the prettiness of your eyes nor the tightness of your top as you move around, taking orders left and right.

"And for you?"

He's staring and you just smile so sweetly. Fuck.

"Ah—right, one Negroni and a Moscow Mule, thanks," He breathed, frantically averting his eyes anywhere else.

This was beyond embarrassing, both to his ego and his career all at once. Thank god Changbin didn’t hear or he'd never let it go. You wouldn't expect a bodyguard to become so flustered, right? Then there's Chan, the exception.

Sliding his card and ID on the marble countertop, he practically gawked when you momentarily made eye contact, wondering how a masterpiece like yourself ended up bartending in Itaewon.

No. He couldn't think like this. His work required his full attention 24/7, he couldn't afford to get carried away with feelings, especially not under these circumstances.

Unbeknownst to him, Changbin had seen everything.

"Do it.”

He flinched at the voice, too lost in thought to notice his friend now occupying the space to his right.

Despite first impression, Changbin was physic when it came to reading people - granted, his job required nonstop observation of body language so that was an advantage. To him, Chan was an open book.

"You know it’ll end badly," The bodyguard audibly sighed, arms crossed over his chest.

It was true, and anyone in a five mile radius would agree once they got word of his job. You would, unfortunately, have to stay as an artifact behind bulletproof glass tonight. Either way, the probability you were even available had to be slim looking like that.

Admire, he'd just admire.

"I know you're the type of guy that commits, but you don't have to commit. Staying for a night is okay too, big guy." The shorter man patted his shoulder lightly, lifting the strong beverage against his lips.

"'Wish it was that easy," Chan uttered, fixated on your silhouette moving closer.

"It is, watch."

Seo Changbin, what the hell are you doing.

He froze, watching his friend whisper something to you he couldn't make out. It seemed like that wasn't the only thing he wasn't prepared for, mouth senselessly slacked — taking in the fact you motioned for him to come nearer without being a dream.

"Your friend," You gesture towards Changbin who left in the other direction, tipping your head while referring to him like everything you did wasn't detrimental to his mental health.

"Said you wanted to have some drinks after my shift. I'm not busy so stay behind, my shift's about over. Just don't get drunk, I don't babysit handsome men for free."

What kind of bullshit did Changbin say this tim-wait—-did you accept? Scratch that, did you call him handsome?

Pupils blown, he soaks up your smile referring to him, certain he can die happy after this. Although, the sudden burst of confidence he experienced in return came in clutch.

"How much do you charge for the night? I'll pay.”Elbows propped on the cool surface, his full lips parted, giving you a slow once over with those captivating eyes of his.

"You're a funny one, I charge extra for my number." You laugh a response, the sight too adorable for him not to appreciate.

"If it's for you I have money to spare, see you after?"

"Have your wallet ready,” You grin, delivering a wink and wave of your hand as you walk away, leaving him breathless for the billionth time that night.

He already knows you'll be one to remember.
