Ooh yesss, the streams really do seem to play a crucial role in this 🤔 Remember how the very first stream was so "heavy" with Olli, with the way Aleksi kept mentioning him, how they texted back and forth and how Olli even tried to call him as if it's something they just do (because it is!!). It was like a little (yes, very little) insight into Aleksi’s world, as he didn't yet try to filter it in anyway. But now? We know they're still close and spend a lot of their time together, but Aleksi chooses to hide it (and yes it's (mainly) Aleksi, because the other idiot rarely posts anything to begin with 😴). Why? Why why why why whyyyyyyy

So yeah, from this aspect it maybe isn't so far-fetched that the (shippy) comments Aleksi has been exposed to have had an effect on his behaviour on some level and have probably given much to think about not only to us but also to him 🤭 And like the creep I am, I’m just soooo intrigued by the idea that seeing those comments have been something (although not necessarily the only thing) that have pushed him on a journey of self-discovery, of which this stage of denial/avoidance we're currently witnessing is a natural part, I guess 🤔

speaking of doylist explanations, i do tend to default to one on the question of why missy has a(n interrupted) redemption arc when the other versions of her don't, which is definitely down to the fact that all the new who showrunners seem to go with the view that master as a character exists to be a dark mirror of the doctor, and moffat's the one who doesn't view the doctor as fundamentally good but as someone who has to continually choose to not be terrible. so if the doctor can choose to be bad then by extension it must be true that the master could choose to be good. it's like poetry, it rhymes!

ok i have no sway here and idk what veilguard will be like but idk if people know how few and far between the solas cadence lines are. like i did actually go through pretty much all of the dialogue in the game (thank you da wiki and GENITIVI CHRONICLES omg) and in all of dai there are 19 individual verses (which relatively is a VERY small amount) and they are all extremely specific instances. About half of those are from the same dialogue tree, specifically his fade stories, which are all in verse. He has a lot of other dialogue that is quite rhythmic and has built in iambs and is performed very deliberately, but not everything he says that has that bounce is actually in the cadence.

random but I fear I must share: when I was a young creature I read a terrible yet memorable historical vampire novel by the name of blood ninja. the detail I must impart is that the mentor character had magical tattoos over every square inch of body that rendered him invisible to vampires at night. he would literally have to get naked to fight because otherwise his clothes would give him away. BUT to this day whenever I remember this character all I can think about. is. he had to have gotten. dick tattoos.

I genuinely can’t fathom how people who have never had a problem with food (restricting AND overeating because both are serious issues) view it. Like tf do you mean you get hungry after two hours? One of my siblings is onto me because I went like 6 hours without eating but like…that was because I wasn’t hungry???? On the flip side, I’ve noticed that I just keep fucking eating when everyone else has stopped. Free breadsticks at Olive Garden? I’ll eat them until they’re gone. Need something to do at a party? I’ll get seconds even though I’m not really hungry. I was never really an emotional eater aside from a few hatred-induced binges last semester at college, but I’m definitely a bored eater. Combine that with the fact that my parents don’t cook, so the occasional meals I had with my family all together were fast food/restaurant food, AND that all other nights, I was left to rummage with no supervision through the pantry to eat processed food in front of the TV/my phone for dinner, it’s a miracle I didn’t get fatter sooner.
