Do you celebrate any anniversaries? Syscovery, relationships, birthdays, etc? What do you typically do to celebrate?

i had my birthday a couple months ago :) we did more on that day than on the body's actual birthday lol...my sibling and best friend in-sys bought me a present (STUFFED ANIMAL ^_^) and i had cake and stuff and everybody was really niceys to me. some of my external friends even wished me a happy birthday and that was really exciting. i'm a fictive and the day i celebrated is my birthday from my source, so it was really comforting and helped alot with homesickness and stuff

another fictive in my subsystem might also celebrate its "source birthday" for the first time later this summer but it isnt sure what it wants to do. most of us frequent fronters even the middles think of ourselves as "too old" for that kind of thing; im really the only one comfortable with it. and so far nobody else has expressed interest in picking out their own birthday to celebrate, nor do we keep good enough track of important internal events to even approximate dates that alters may have formed. (hence why we also don't really celebrate any other kinds of anniversaries.)

(actually it would be weird if i was really the only one to ever have celebrated my own birthday though, we are a big system and a lot of us are really thoroughly differentiated from each other. i bet there are others with birthdays that i'm just forgetting about.)

on a more serious note & this isnt inherently a system thing but later this year, we are finally getting out of a bad living situation and moving far away from an abuser. i definitely want the day we finish moving in to our new place to become an important anniversary for us ^_^

hi y'all! i just want to say thank you all for 300 followers. to be honest, this brings me so much joy as i used to think that i was not good in the field, with my posts achieving a low engagement rate. but over the past two years, i made it to such a big and momentous milestone, and i really am grateful to those of you who like, reblog, and comment on my moodboards; i really appreciate it. therefore, to celebrate this wonderful occasion, i decided to host an event that's a bit different (as far as i know) from other events that took place here in tumblr. i also had so much fun formulating the concept behind this event, and i hope that you will also show some love and support to it. i hope that blogs, regardless of experience and following, will participate and have fun. please don't let this flop; anyways thanks for 300 and enjoy!

in 2050, a decade after the great armageddon nearly wiped out all life, the world has become a wasteland. only a few high-tech colonies survive, including the last stronghold in seoul. here, people live in peace within their advanced, secure cities, shielded from whatever dangers lurk in the outside world. but this peace doesn’t mean they’re safe to ignore what’s beyond their walls.

the a.e.s.p.a. (advanced enforcement and security protection agency) is a team of elite operatives sworn to protect the colony. normally, they handle internal threats, but recently, they received a strange signal from outside the colony. this signal was unlike anything they’d seen—a unique frequency that could mean other survivors were out there. weeks later, another mysterious event followed, dubbed “sonic whiplash.” a massive shockwave, almost like an echo of a voice or a distant call, rattled the colony walls. this wasn’t just noise; scientists suspected it was energy, possibly even linked to other dimensions or sources of life outside.

to respond, a.e.s.p.a. needed to build specialized machines to handle whatever strange conditions they might face outside the colony. however, necessary files required to plot out their machine's structure and purpose were wiped out during the armageddon, hence using moodboards left as fragments of the original files to complete the machine's construction further. in a creative and practical twist, a.e.s.p.a uses moodboards—visual boards that combine art and data—to design their rescue machinery. these moodboards help them craft everything from rescue drones to sound-absorbing suits, all adapted to fit the mysterious energy of sonic whiplash. each moodboard captures the “feel” of the mission, ensuring their tech can handle the unknowns in a potentially hostile environment.

by bringing these ideas to life, a.e.s.p.a. is preparing to head out of the colony not just to investigate the signals, but to possibly save any survivors they find. with these advanced machines, they’re ready to confront the mysteries of the world outside and discover the truth behind the haunting frequency, hoping to bridge their safe world with whatever’s left out there.

Do you drink coffee? If so, what's your coffee order? I don't really drink coffee that much. If it an drinking coffee it is usually something like a pumpkin spice latte, really anything with a lot of sugar. What's the best thing you ate today? Ummmm, it is currently 3pm and I haven't eaten yet 😬 I had taco bell last night though.

Tell us about your first pet (or if you haven't had a pet yet, what's your dream pet)? I only ever had 2 black cats growing up. Barney and Fred, they live until they were both about 19-20. They were anti-social as hell around new people to the point that people started to believe that we didn't cats because they never saw them, even the people who would come over to take care of them while we were out of town. They only reason they knew they can't were fine was because the food was eaten and the litter box was used. They were usually just hiding underneath my parents bed. They were super sweet and hilarious when they wanted to be though.

If your life was a book, what would you call the current chapter? Breaking free

What's something you did recently that you're proud of? Sticking with writing consistently (with my ADHD that can be a challenge) and writing over 160K words over the last year or so. Also getting a promotion at work (even though I still haven't started the new position yet, my transfer is taking forever😑)

What was your first dream job growing up? Is it anything like the job you have now? I don't really remember what my first dream job was because I don't remember a lot of my childhood. The first one that I can remember is that is in middle school I wanted to be a photographer.

Now, I run a photography business on the side from my day job that focuses on cosplay photography and I have shot the occasional wedding for friends and stuff. I've been doing photography now for 18 year now and professionally for 6 years

No, I'll elaborate. For my first reason, I'll quote my own post:

"Imagine. Going through your whole life looking like that." Yeah I can imagine going through my whole life looking like Fox Mulder, it's called gender eurphoria

Apart from the looks, though, he seems to have a pretty cool life. UFO hunting, investigating the supernatural, cool apartment, great partner, fun basement office, action and adventure...of course, there are downsides (missing sister, constant brushes with danger, frequently hunted by the government, paperwork, etc.), but overall it looks very interesting.

However, we're also already not dissimilar. I may not be quite as much of a conspiracy nut as he is (though of course I believe in aliens 🛸), and I'm certainly not about to join the FBI even if the 'uniform' does look hella cool, but we apparently both have issues with sleeping, eating, trust, fire, and obsession/hyperfixation (e.g. Grotesque and his whole search for the Truth), at least. [Let me know if you think my assessment of his character (and/or mine?!) is unfair or wrong; I can't remember exactly what's in canon and what appears more in fanon.]

The most random similarity is that both of us have used the sound of a light aircraft to locate something. In Mulder's case, during S01E15 'Lazarus', it's a sound caught on a recording that helps him find Scully. For me, I was hiking with a group a few years ago and we were mildly lost. However, when I heard a light aeroplane doing spin training, I knew that it could only being doing that over certain areas in our locality, and from the map we had I could work out our location more accurately, the result being that we made it home that evening.

I can also blame Mulder for my new sunflower seed addiction! Thanks a bunch.

Of course, if I were actually to turn up in a TXF episode, it would probably be as background character #3 who has a couple of lines being questioned by Scully whilst Mulder waits moodily in the background, but hey. I want to believe.

Look, this show may be a new love of mine, but yes, I do already have some potentially unpopular opinions. Buckle in...

I'm not a fan of MSR. You said unpopular! I've really enjoyed the early seasons of the show for the friendship between Mulder and Scully, and I see that as just continuing. Yes, they get closer, how could they not? But I dislike the fact that they (apparently) actually get together in the end and it's canon.

I will add the disclaimer that, yes, I am only up to S05E09 at the moment, and I suppose that the storyline could lead very nicely into it. However, at the moment from what I've seen in content on here like gifsets and edits, I don't think I'll like it, and I prefer the vibe of the show as it now is.

This marries up (!) with my dislike of many of later parts of the mytharc that I'm coming to now. It's probably because I personally prefer monster of the week episodes, but especially the S4 mytharc eps were among my least favourites, and some of them were bordering on a struggle to watch.

Which leads into my general dislike of S4, definitely an unpopular opinion according to the poll that happened recently. I won't go on too much as I've said this in some tags before, but I find it hard to believe that S4 is a favourite season. Yes, there are some good eps! Demons is my favourite of the season and among my top episodes of the show so far, and Tempus Fugit/Max was excellent. But there was also The Field Where I Died, Never Again, Memento Mori, Synchrony, Zero Sum...some of my least favourite episodes so far, that I would probably avoid on a rewatch.

💫 - How long have you been in the fandom?

Since a few days after the pilot came out. The person who introduced it to me did NOT expect me to become as obsessed with it as I did, lmao.

I couldn’t get enough. I backwatched all the vivziepop livestreams (including some that now appear to be deleted/private) and all the hunicast streams. I researched earlier versions of the characters, concept art, and old comics. I started working on a hellsona that would later become Dual. I stayed obsessed through the drought.

I may not have been here as long as some of my mutuals, but I’d like to think I’m just as dedicated, lol.

Mm… the Vees. I can’t pick any of the mains, because I was either already obsessed with them (everyone at the hotel during the pilot + Cherri) or just never really grew to care that much (Sir Pentious, I love you but you have not hit the blorbo button at all </3).

Meanwhile, the Vees… I mean, part of it was their canon appearances in season 1, but I also gotta thank poly vees, OneWayBroadcast, and toxic yaoi RadioStatic shippers, trans Vox headcanons, NPD Vox and BPD Val headcanons, and all Velvette posters ever for their efforts.

Block button: Use it.

Tag filtering: Use it.

Word filtering: Use it.

Unfollow button: Use it.

AO3 exclude tags function: Use it.

AO3 mute button: Use it.

Block usernames using word filtering (not tag filtering), because tumblr’s block doesn’t keep reblogs off your dash, but filtering their url will.

Using these tools doesn’t have to be a statement of morality/judgement. Block people who are mildly annoying. Block tags from ships that make you a little uncomfy or that clog your dash. It doesn’t mean you hate the bloggers/ships/shippers/etc. or think they’re terrible people. It’s not a personal insult. It’s not that serious.

Use the tools at your disposal, without sweeping judgement towards yourself or others, and you’ll have a much better time.

🍭 - How did you get into writing?

I’ve been plagued by visions of divine madness since I was a child, and the curse is best relieved via written word.

No, but for real, I’ve been writing original fiction, poetry, and song lyrics for about as long as I could write any words at all.

I got into fanfiction specifically because of a lack of kinky asexual RadioApple smut and a healthy dose of spite. Yeah, remember when RadioApple was a rarepair? Oh how times change.

For Hazbin? Uhh… One that’s currently partially posted on AO3, two Raze Hell fics, five-ish UHverse fics, and many miscellaneous others that I cannot be bothered to count.

I don’t have a designated WIP folder, and instead categorize everything by which series it will be a part of or put them in my oneshot folders, which are sorted by fandom, not by completion status.

I’m also in the process of switching from google docs to ellipsus, which complicates matters further.
