2, 3, and 7 for the fanfic ask game?

2. What's your shortest fic? What's your longest?

The shortest is Blindside, a My Hero Academia fic that's basically just Hawks and Rumi fucking around being chaotic friends (with bonus Hawks feels, as usual). It's 1.2k words long!

And the longest is the fic, the myth, the legend: The Sword of Damocles is Swinging, the 60k word Hawks-centric character study that is also the first fic I put out at the beginning of my "I'm Actually Gonna Write Things Now" stage and the word count of which I've never met since (because I'm less wordy now, lmao). It also made me mildly fandom famous among Hawks fans for a bit, and I think also set some trends for Hawks's bird traits, which is always super fucking fun to know. I still look at it very fondly. Yes, the title is a Beetlejuice lyric. And I'd fucking do it again.

7. Is there a character or ship you'd love to write for, but haven't yet?

RADIOAPPLEEEEEEEE I can't fucking. Massage it out of my brain. I'm working on it. I'M WORKING ON IT. It's just that "working on it" looks a lot like "ignoring it and hoping that the lightning of inspiration strikes while I do other things." How the fuck was the appledust so much easier than the radioapple.

But he is shrewder, still. He envisions a lanceboard. He will play the gambit. Enver does not give freely, because he does not give at all. The Lower City is, as far as he can tell, Bhaalist territory. An alliance—perhaps even a friendship—with the blood-maddened murderers could well prove useful. A way into the Lower City scene, without as much fieldwork on his part. A way to sow discord. A way to pave the treacherous path to power. Should the Bhaalists prove too fanatical, too extravagant, he is certain he will be able to smoke them out.  Bhaal bowed to Bane once. In due time, he will submit again.  He smiles at the thought. “Think of it as insurance.”

Although somewhat rarer than the black and white no-nuance fandom takes, I have curated my experience enough to see them, and I am grateful.

Shoutout in particular to the Octavia defenders, everyone talking about the intricacies of Fizzarozzie + Blitz’s trial (some of you have brought up details to my attention that made me realize that this one was a bit more complicated than I originally thought), and those with me on the frontlines of the ongoing “please stop gatekeeping Alastor ships; it is possible to ship an aroace character respectfully; also, don’t you guys remember the damage gatekeeping has historically done to the a-spec community? it was so bad literally just a few years ago,” war.

3.) OC creators

Hellaverse is the fandom that made me question my constant statement of “I’m not usually into OCs, but…” because it was just happening way too often.

Like now everyone won’t get those spoilers bc I’m disinclined to continue to post them now. Like there’s a reason why I don’t post the full chapters, and now this.

It was bad enough with people on tumblr stealing without credit, but this was the final straw. Especially when my url was in the watermark.

I really wish I could find a solution but it’s not like I can watermark my actual translations, and that’s the part I don’t want stolen without credit lol.

I mean I guess I could if I went and edited it into the images but that’s a lot of work and I know there’s people doing the unofficial scanaltions, and that would be even easier to steal without credit I surmise…

Hi, I'm not even in the AA fandom anymore, but I remember your art and AUs with fondness. Anyways, MatPat just posted a video on Film Theory about how in The Santa Clause it's actually Santa himself who's sufferring from forced labor and contract fraud, which reminded me that your Santa Clause AU existed. I gotta say, I really did love that AU; even though I had no fricking clue what was going on in the TSC universe you made it really charming. Merry Christmas!

This one was tough! None of my WiPs are what I would call funny, exactly. The Witcher a/b/o fic has a joke about biting ears, and one about the word South, but the closest I can currently get to a one-liner is from Robin in the ronance canon-divergence fic:

"Nancy, that girl almost killed me - killed us - with two fingers. Two! And she didn't even have her nails painted or anything."

💔 most heartbreaking line

More ronance, since I've thusfar only hurt anyone the regular amount in the a/b/o fic.

The dial tone is what really gets Robin crying. She presses her forehead to the wall next to the phone and cries, still holding onto it, onto Nancy, until the operator comes on, tells her hang up and try again.

Hell's a panopticon

listen, listen, I know this has nothing to do with the original question but I'm having Thoughts and idw to make my own post, maybe later, maybe not, but I need to uh talk about the Thoughts

so Hell's a prison, right?

like it's... I think it's pretty obvious that Hell's a metaphor for the prison system and all I don't need to explain, but look at this neat drawing of a panopticon by Jenny Fagan

like long story short a panopticon is meant to be an "optimal" prison where one person in the central tower/room can monitor all the inmates, cuz even tho the person can't literally watch everyone at the same time, the inmates can't tell who is currently watched, so it create a state of paranoia where they could be watched at any moment so they have to behave all the time

and yes, as I understand it it's meant to be inhuman cuz prison is a punishment y'know

and I mean yeah it would make sense for Hell to be kind of built on this model? like

there are rings on the outside, right

then let's say Pentagram City is somewhere on the Pride ring yeah? so the watching spot would be on the side, kinda where Heaven happen to be

plus Heaven literally can chose who they're watching (but, at least in this situation, only one place at the time):

(also note that Heaven seems to appreciate this kind of architecture already, as their uh that's a courthouse, right? same kind of structure, obviously the intent isn't the same here (?) but the structure is similar)

do the rings works like this where each ring is like a sphere inside a sphere inside a sphere

or is blitzo's map app literally how it works and each ring is actually flat

and there's actually in fact a border surrounding each ring and that's where it ends it doesn't loop around or there is no border and you can like fall into the void like in minecraft or something when you reach the edge

(sorry it's just funny to think about I know there's probably more magical explanations and shit)

Hi! I Just wanted to say you are awesome! I liked Voltron for a while. Loved the first two seasons, but I felt like the show was derailing from what it set itself up to be, then we got the dumpster fire that is season 7 and I was so upset. I wanted to vent my feelings, but I couldn't find anyone who agreed with my view points. Then I found you blog, and it was so refreshing to see someone calmly and rationally discussing the good and the bad of Voltron. Thank you! #BlackPaladinShiroForever

I’m sorry, but I’m a bit distraught right now. I’d gush more to you about how Black Paladin Shiro is just freaking awesome, but I just read this post - The Wolf, the Atlas and the Bayard. Give it a whirl, if you have a moment. It puts all of Season 7 into perspective. 

Not sure if it’ll make you feel better or worse. I’m not sure how I feel at the moment, but it’ll show you what was meant to be in VLD.
