Tin Can Bros and Starkid are two entirely separate companies and should be treated as such. Despite Starkid promoting TCB related content in the past (such as when they promoted the Tinlightenment Campaign) they are NOT the same company. No matter how much overlap they have in actors and in the creative team, Starkid is in no way related to anything Tin Can Bros have made, and neither is TCB for Starkid.

Something I've noticed about the Hatchetfield trilogy in that the Lords in Black almost always try to exploit the wants of the other characters.

TGWDLM: There's a whole song called "What do you want, Paul" I don't think I need to explain this one if you've seen the show and gave it even half a thought.

Black Friday: The Wiggly dolls promise people to fix the holes in your life by helping you get what you want, to the point that if you're not careful the doll itself becomes what you want. Even in the villain department Willey flat out tells Linda that her want to be worshipped can be achieved by becoming Wiggly's prophet.

NPMD: During "The summoning" The Lords in Black tell the kids that if they want their help they must give up what they treasure most.

Even in Nightmare Time whenever they're involved it's ether to fulfill their own wants or to take advantage of someone else's wants, some times both.

The point I'm trying to make is, The Lords in Black as a whole seem to deal in wants and desire as their main thing. For some of them it's a bit more apparent, but they all meddle it the realm of wants.

I personally love to bully Paul so I love a good angst fic about his suffering.

Give me hopeless Paul still aware and trapped inside his own infested mind. Give me defeated Paul so used to minimising his own desires he can’t even comprehend what he wants, let alone articulate it. Give me helpless Paul that has “a touch of the Gift” like Hannah and Lex, but not enough to save anyone. Give me tired Paul who is forever in a cycle of almost, maybe, with the love of his life. Give me brave Paul who lost everyone he cared about in a single DAY and still found the strength to try and stop Pokey/The Hive despite knowing he would probably fail.

I constantly think about how him being no more than a background character in the rest of the lore means that the people he sacrificed himself for in the TGWDLM timeline will never know how heroic he truly could be when it came down to it… 😭😭

(Happy endings are fun and all, but there’s so many opportunities for Paul angst 👀)
