AITA for lying to my dog about food being 'spicy?'

A while back I taught my dog what spicy foods are (by letting her sniff them and saying "Uh oh! Spicy!") and she figured out that it means it'll smell/taste bad and she immediately loses interest. It was initially an accident but it became really handy in getting her to leave food alone if it might hurt her.

Recently though I've started saying "Uh oh! Spicy!" about any food I don't want her to eat. If she's sitting and staring at me eating a regular non-spicy snack and I don't want to share, I'll tell her it's spicy so she'll stop begging for it. She believes me 100% of the time. She does have a 'leave it' command that she obeys as well, but she always acts so sad whenever I tell her to 'leave it' and it's something she wants.

I feel a little bad because she's an older dog (10y/o) and maybe I SHOULD be sharing my snacks with her, but sometimes a man's gotta enjoy his food in peace without a little creature gazing longingly at him the entire time and crying like the world's soggiest beast.

Included is a picture of her making her very best begging face so that everyone can accurately judge how evil I am for lying to her.

I think you've mentioned before that all the alternate versions of Siffrin probably won't go as far as the "death by trying to name their country" route but man it would be kinda messed up is a traveler were to inadvertently put them on the path there. Like asking them about where they are from, how they learned wishcraft etc. Egg them one without triggering a rest by making them think too hard about it? Tho it would also be morbidly hilarious thinking that the King explodes too when they both try to say it. Not fun for the party who would be watching this go down, especially the traveler, but still.

It WOULD be messed up if the Travelers experienced their Siffrin getting pushed into saying the Country's name to the point of death. and a VERY good double-edged sword if the King also got killed too as a result. I think the exception to this is Researcher!Siffrin's AU, because.. well, due to shenanigans, they can already read the forgotten language and know a little more about wishcraft than the average Sif. Traveler!Isa just needs to find the right prompts and Sif WILL infodump very happily (and immediately forget what they were talking about afterwards with a blinding headache). The only reason they'd try saying the Country's name for the King is because of threats. in the form of a lovely cook getting picked up and held above everyone's head... The other Travelers and their Siffrin's, though. Mm. Delicious angst potential of driving them to the breaking point. I can definitely picture Traveler!Odile pushing Fighter!Siffrin over the edge in the name of information.........

The Jones Boys reached a new psylink level and unlocked the 'morbid' meditation type. Now they chill out in the cemetery together, which is clearly not helping them concentrate.

I always get distracted chatting about dumb shit to my brothers if we're sitting still for too long, as well, so I can't really judge them.

We are not adopting any more babies!! Ivy is the only exception because of highly unusual circumstances.

We also got a second twisted obelisk right next to the walls of our base, so we deactivated the old one which was on the opposite side of the map and we'll stick with just studying this bad boy.

Ivy is a toddler!!! Happy birthday!! Despite what the boys say, they do really like having you around. We can't wait to watch you grow ❤️
