peach // the type a:
the problem with the whole theory on this being some kind of party and everyone got black out drunk was the fact that she doesn’t get black out drunk. not when there are classes the next day. not when her entire reputation, grades, anything that could be affected by poor decisions made during a time she wouldn’t remember. no. there has to be a more logically reason for why no one can remember shit and why everyone has disappeared. no, there has to be a better answer for all of this. she just – can’t think of one.
“ you’re about the fifth person to ask me that. ” if anyone would remember it would be her, so why can’t she? “ at this point, i’m starting to think we’re all drugged. ” now that would make sense. if she did attend some halloween party, probably because a friend dragged her to it against her will, and if she did have one drink, then it probably was drugged. that has to be the reason for the memory loss.
everything else? the people disappearing? those reasons are still lost on her.
Drugged. Wasn’t that was a scary thought? But, right now at least it seemed like the most logical explanation. There was no way that everyone would have gotten so drunk that they all passed out on campus, not to mention the fact that his memories of last night were non-existent. Sure, there were nights where he had probably forgotten more than he remembered, but it had never been like this.
He looked at Peach, considering her for a moment and immediately felt confident that she alone wouldn’t have been sloppy enough to lose control at a party, let alone so much that she ended up passing out with the rest of them. The others they had ended up with? Maybe. Himself? He didn’t think so, but had spent the better part of the day questioning what had happened the night before and it had only led him into thinking in circles. But Peach? Never Miss Loves to be in Control. Everything he knew about her (which, admittedly wasn’t a ton and was based on rumor and speculation with a dash of personal experience) was the antithesis of everything that had allegedly happened in the last twelve or so hours.
The issue with that explanation, if taken as true, was that why wasn’t there more of them around? It had been a Halloween party and Halloween parties were always ragers. This group of people, the ones who were the only one around, wouldn’t have ended up in the same place if it hadn’t been, but they were only a fraction of a group who would have been consuming the supposedly spiked drinks..
“That reasoning is the most logical I’ve heard,” he nodded, still thinking. “But it only leads to more questions. It’s not like we slept through the apocalypse and ended up being the only survivors. People, no, whole communities don’t just disappear into thin air.” Matt frowned, desperately trying to come up with anything that made even the slightest bit of sense, but every explanation was more ridiculous than the next and seemed more akin to a science fiction novel than reality. “Maybe the question we should be asking isn’t ‘what happened?’ but instead, what do we do now?”

nico // the freebird:
having his fair share of hangovers, nico isn’t too surprised by the ache that spreads throughout his body or how his head feels like it’s been split open, thinks he just went a little too hard the night before. it’s not until he feels the warmth of the sun beating down on him and the grass beneath his fingers does something feel a little not right, and seeing that he’s not alone in the school’s courtyard, there’s a feeling of unease that pricks at him. he’s never gotten so messed up to the point he’d just pass out in public like this. he tries to piece together memories from the night before, but the only thing that comes to him and is something about a party. no memories of actually being at the party, or what he did, but just the word itself. he’s lost in trying to remember something that’ll help him figure out what’s going on that he almost misses the question one of the others has asked, a few seconds go by before he turns to look at them, giving a small shrug. ❛ um, not really… there was a, uh, party, right ? ❜
Matt looked over at Nico and nodded, noticing that the action wasn’t accompanied by even a dull pounding in his head, the telltale sign of too much drinking the night before. Just another thing to add to the list of things that didn’t feel right. “Yeah, that much I can remember, I think.” Trying to remember who had thrown they party or who had even suggested going was like trying to grasp for water that kept slipping through his fingers. The only difference here was that there wasn’t anything to grasp onto; there were no memories from the night before, not even the hazy tendrils of something, anything that indicated that there was something just beyond his grasp. “There was a party,” he repeated slowly, “and somehow all of us ended up here?” He looked around again, the familiar scene of campus somehow adding to the unease Matt was feeling. “That doesn’t make sense or feel logical... What do you think?”

Dark eyes scanned the familiar surroundings, the feeling of unease creeping up the back of Matt’s spine as he tried to figure out how he and the rest of the students had ended up there. Halloween parties usually meant that he went harder than usual, but something didn’t feel right. He had never been one to get black out drunk and not to the point he couldn’t remember wandering through campus and passing out. Maybe all the stress he had been under was affecting him more than he thought, but now was not the time to think about that.
“So, uh, anyone remember what happened last night?”

hey friends! I’m Julia, 26, PST timezone, she/her pronouns and I play Matt Crawford aka The Jock! I’m a law student who took too many classes this summer, so my activity for the next couple weeks will vary, but you can always slide into my IM’s or hit me up on discord if you wanna plot or if you wanna talk about how fucked tumblr could be if Intellectual Property holders decided to crack down on the illegal shit we do on this hellsite!
anyway, under the cut is some stuff about my bb! I’m doing this minutes before I have to leave, so (hopefully) later tonight, I’ll have his full bio posted along with some other tidbits!
Full Name: Matthew Ethan Crawford Age: twenty-one Year: third/junior Gender: cismale Pronouns: he/him Majors: business and marketing Sport: baseball Positions: shortstop and third base
HEADCANONS:
Recruiting: Matt was recruited by a couple different colleges and universities, but opted for Haltson for multiple reasons. 1) it was close enough to home to visit often, but far enough away to feel like he went away to college. 2) his best friend wanted to go to Halston and you can’t separate the dream team. 3) while he thinks it would be cool to go pro and play baseball professionally, he also realizes how rare it is for someone to make a living playing sports so he considered his options with education in mind. 4) the money. Matt’s ultimate goal in all of this is to escape college with as little debt as possible, therefore, he focused more on the schools that would give him the most money. Halston happened to be one of them
Why He Volunteered for the Experiment: It isn’t inherently clear why Matt would want to volunteer. He condemns The Burnout for the poison they put in their body, yet is willing to sign up for a probably risky experiment that will alter his memories? That seems a little hypocritical. Participation is voluntary, so he probably isn’t getting compensated for it which doesn’t help him or his mom, what why is he there? In my mind, things were starting to get to difficult, the pressure that he was under (which was mainly self-imposed) was starting to get to be too much, and Matt needed an escape. Maybe he heard about the experiment from The Lone Wolf and figured that he didn’t want his friend to be alone and decided to kill two birds with one stone and volunteered too. He was a little apprehensive, but there’s no going back now.
Other Facts + Tidbits:
Matt is a third year/junior in college
As a freshman and sophomore he made the All Conference Team and as a sophomore was named a Second Team All-American
As a student, he’s average, maybe a little above; good enough to not need the special tutors offered by the athletic department, but not so stellar that he’ll graduate with honors.
His favorite movie is Space Jam because it is a masterpiece and I’m a walking meme of a human
On weekends, he gives hitting and fielding lessons to local youth baseball players (usually high school age, but sometimes younger) to earn some extra cash. He also advises some of the older kids about the process of getting recruited by colleges.
His goal after he graduates is to go into marketing and advertising.
